"After all we went through, you really still don't understand!" Raph shouted.

"No, you're the one that doesn't understand!" Leo accused. "I'm trying to come up with the best plan for every scenario, but all you do is tell me that they're wrong! That they could be better! 'Oh, Leo, why don't we try this instead' or 'Hey Leo, your plan is terrible, why don't you come up with something else' !"

Raph growled. "I only do that when your plans are terrible!"

"So you admit it, then?!"

Raph opened his mouth to say something else, but Leo interrupted him immediately.

"And you think I haven't been counting how many times you say that?! You think I don't keep a chart, or... or mark off a calendar every day I mess up?!"

"Leo--"

"No, don't you dare 'Leo' me," the slider started out the door. "I'll be in my room. Nobody bother me."

Leo stormed away, making a point to shoulder past Donnie and Mikey who had been watching. Raph really wanted to say something else, but his little blue-coded brother was already gone. Did Leo really keep track like that? If he did, well... Raph would just have to find a way to get rid of it later.

Five hours later, Leo approached Raph when he was in the living room with something in his hands. They were both silent for a few minutes before Leo got closer. The snapper put down the weight he had been lifting.

"I'm sorry for... yelling at you earlier. It wasn't right of me," the slider whispered, fiddling with the tape on the box.

Raph itched to pull Leo into a hug right there, but resisted for now. "I'm sorry too."

Leo sighed and held the box out. "I got you something. I found it in a shop that was selling it for, like, thirty bucks. ...Don't tell Donnie where I found the money, though."

Raph chuckled and tore open the box. What he found inside was enough for him to give into his urge to hug.

"Is this Ghostbear's helmet?" Raph asked incredulously.

"Yeah," Leo laughed nervously. "From when Big Mama did that completely uncalled for New York Battle Nexus thing and it came off him."

Raph squeezed Leo tighter and closer. Leo reached up to hug his older brother back.

"I love you and I'm sorry Raph," Leo murmured.

Raph smiled. "I love you too and I'm sorry, Leo."

(Unbeknownst to them, Mikey and Donnie were watching from the softshell's totally hidden security cameras to have this as blackmail.)

AU where Leo is trapped in the Prison Dimension for months instead of minutes and the only way he gets by with his sanity intact is through recording himself talking to his wrist comm.

When they finally manage to get Leo back and make him rest up to heal, Donnie can’t help but listen to the recordings left behind.

He’s not sure what exactly he’s expecting, only that his subconscious is screaming at him that it has to be heartbreaking, that it has to be torturous.

Instead, what Donnie is subject to is a full thousand hours’ worth of Jupiter Jim and Lou Jitsu crossover fanfiction. More than one part in the series. Spanning well over a million words.

(The worst part is that it’s actually good.)

In all of my AUs, I hold on to the headcanon that the boys were named after colors before April gave them better ones. And with that, since “Purple” was hard to say for lil Blue, the twins called each other Bubby and Puppy — even after Blue was able to speak more clearly (〜￣▽￣)〜

Spitfire AU info dump!

So I finally got around to drawing my rottmnt au idea more, so here’s some details behind the dragons♡

The dragons are manifestations of “living ninpo” and act as an extension of the turtles.

For example the dragons are in tune with each of the guys emotions/ thoughts/ instincts/ and powers but can act independently as well

They can technically choose what size they want to be, but each has a natural size that feels comfortable to them (ex: Mikey’s dragon likes to be smaller while Raph’s prefer to be bulkier)

If the guys aren’t in tune with their ninpo or are still developing it, the connection to the dragon can be a little unsteady like dealing with a big cat.

Sometimes a dragon knows better about something or makes their own decisions/ has its own opinion/ takes its own actions.

Even though the dragons can be independent, they prefer to stick close to their turtle and remain near by.

The dragons are technically first connected to the boys through their mystic weapons, but as they all bond the dragons don’t need the weapons to be in use to stick around.

The dragons can make noise♪ little chirp and squeaks. But there isn’t really “spoken communication” between dragon and turtle. Conversations are made through sharing emotions/abstract colors+shapes/ images/ and expressions to mimic talking. So to a turtle it feels like a regular conversation but observers would understand nothing

The dragons can technically eat regular food even though they don’t need to. It would only really fizzle and dissolve once it is swallowed and quickly disappear.

Dragons can interact with physical objects (including people) when they wish to. It takes a little bit of concentration if a turtle is willing it, but with practice each of them can work on it

Opposite of holing stuff, the dragons can phase through things (and people) at will! They are naturally transparent and give off a little bit of a spirit vibe so it’s sort of natural they possess this ghostly ability. They naturally phase through objects so there might be a little bit of a learning curve for the concept of doors and privacy (^^;)

SO OBVIOUSLY NO BECAUSE HE LOVES ALL THESE BOYS EQUALLY AS WELL AS INDIVIDUALLY LIKE THERE IS NO "FAVORITE" ...but... but Leo DOES become his special little guy. Because all the boys remind him so much of his brothers, in odd and new ways then what he expected, but little Leo reminds 2k12 Mikey of HIMSELF the most.

He sees this funny, sweet little kid who hides all his insecurities behind jokes and puns, a walking poster child for smiling depression the same way 2k12 Mikey is, and he recognizes all those self-destructive qualities of himself, of self-worth issues of never being good enough and throwing him own safety away just to be WORTH something to his family, in this tiny Leo and immediately go "History is NOT repeating itself on my fucking watch!!!"

Personally what I like best in terms of who’s older between Donnie and Leo is just them never knowing for sure BUT imagine Leo going up to Draxum and saying he’ll never bring up the roof incident again if Draxum tells Donnie that Leo’s the older twin.

i specifically refer to instrumental parentification!

donnie built their home from the ground up-- although not all of it is laid out, there is no one else in the family that could have constructed the lair in the way that donnie did. he's solely responsible for upkeep on more complicated things, because even if splinter tried his absolute best, nothing would make him a carpenter lolol.

raph was parentified in a more emotional sense, having to take the role as their protector and psuedo father figure, but donnie took on similarly very important responsibilities. it would have made raph's job a lot harder if he hadn't. they'd probably be suffering or even dead without him with no heating during the winter.

it's not a thing as heavily elaborated on in canon, but that's what fanfic's for! i also do think it informs his character well and his fear of not being "useful"; that's all he's ever known how to be. he knows they're dependent on him, and it wouldnt be surprising if they didn't notice because it's just been a given all their lives (that is made very apparent through the way they act about his tech. they're excited but its not new or revolutionary, donnie does this all the time!).

i also like to interpret that splinter was very active in their lives when they were very young, but after the lair was built and they were finally in relative safety he just kind of Crashed when he came out of survival mode. it'd explain a lot and be kind of understandable tbh
