One of the earliest examples of Leo’s “I’ll do my own thing to accomplish our goal without discussing it with my team first” is in episode one. It’s super, super quick, and ultimately inconsequential, but it subtly sets up a great precedent that I think is very interesting.

When the boys need to grab the medallion from Splinter without Splinter noticing, Raph, Mikey, and Donnie huddle together with Raph taking the lead in trying to devise a plan to get the mystic device. Meanwhile, Leo slinks away and grabs the device by clocking the situation (by knowing his father well enough to predict his actions - something he does with each family member multiple times in the series) and making a move on his own.

It works out perfectly fine, and is ultimately the best move, and it’s honestly okay that he didn’t consult everyone for something so small when it’s such a non issue to get it, but it nicely sets up how this tends to go in the series, including how it goes in the movie.

To be honest episode one is actually really good at setting up a lot of things for each character in the long run, this is just one example that caught my attention, as small and unassuming as it is.

If you think ab it the rule w Kunikida only being able to make things the size of his notebook can be slightly bypassed by objects like rope and cords considering he can make wireguns. You talk a lot about Donnie's triggers when it comes to Raph and Leo, but what about Mikey? Is there anything specifically related to him that would freak Donnie out?

mikey gets brought up the least because he's the least physically imposing, and he very rarely got violent. his abuse was almost solely psychological, at least in the beginning, whereas raph was mostly verbal and leo was a mix of,, uh. everything lol (note that even before he smacked him, even before the closet, he was mentioned to be throwing things at him). most of mikey's abuse was caused by leo except for that one incident in the kitchen, so donnie tends to see leo as more of a threat than he does mikey when he's in a bad headspace. when mikey's alone, he doesn't think he's going to be hurt UNLESS he seriously seems to upset or anger him. (i think if donnie ever hurts mikey during an episode, he's going to take it a lot worse than if it were raph and leo. partially because he's smaller and younger, but also because of. right after the closet. yeah)

i actually think most of the things specifically about mikey were addressed in cw, though, because they were more emotional things-- the fear of being talked about when he wasn't around, for example. all of the food insecurity stems from him, too. leo was a nasty evil gaslighter but mikey was the one that just outright lied constantly, mostly in an effort to "protect donnie's feelings" (or at least to look like he was) and that's a big reason he finds that so uncomfortable. of course he's going to correlate hiding things to actually protect his feelings with talking behind his back.

Things I make for myself when insomnia kicks in

Just a chart about what I wanna change up and keep consistent in my art - I mainly wanna draw Raph with a tail because he deserves one, it fits too well. Donnie gets a long tail too because I didn’t realize how dino-like he looks until I gave him one, and now it’s a must for me haha.

Raylan burst into the RV to find Duffy tied to the runners above the microwave and the couch and the pipes beneath the couch and the sink. He was wearing lime-green lady’s underwear. Mikey was behind him, holding something guiltily behind his back.

“Hello, Marshal,” Duffy said. “This is exactly what it looks like.”

Raylan, who had reared back when he noticed Duffy’s underwear, remembered himself and resettled his grip on his handgun. He ignored the bound man and focused on the threat, which was, in this instance, apparently Mikey. “Hands where I can see them,” he said, aiming at the portion of Mikey’s broad chest that he could see past Duffy’s splayed limbs.

“Be careful what you wish for, Marshal,” Duffy drawled, and Raylan raised his voice.

“Hands up!”

Mikey shuffled sideways and raised his hands slowly. He was holding something that could, arguably, be a weapon, if a decoratively neon one.

Not a minute before, Raylan had known less about Wynn Duffy’s personal life. “Drop the weapon,” he said, and Mikey dropped it. Raylan holstered his sidearm and realized he’d forgotten why he came there in the first place.

“I’d offer you a cup of tea,” Duffy said, “but as you can see, my hands are tied.” He had a lazy, contented look on his face, and seemed devilishly unbothered to see Raylan. Whatever he and Mikey were doing clearly relaxed him.

Raylan bravely recalled his line of inquiry and proceeded with it as though nothing out of the ordinary was occurring. Given Duffy’s general style of intercourse, this wasn’t entirely untrue. The only real difference was that he was even chattier than usual.

When Raylan was satisfied, or more accurately tired of the company, Duffy asked, “Are you planning to drag me off in handcuffs, Marshal?”

“Watch it,” Raylan snapped. “I just might. Don’t matter what kind of underwear you’re wearing.”

Duffy shivered. “Well, as long as you promise me that and nothing else,” he said.

I started drawing 03 Donnie but then got a sudden burst of inspiration from the idw comics and ended up doing this with the line art.

I'm not sure if it's still recognizable as 03 Donnie so let me know if it looks like him still.
