I was asking myself for the longest time what could've happened to Mewo, looking back, I felt like the dissecation scene could be aluding to her being authanised, it'd make sense, since the butler says she has been ''bad'', and it's not uncomon for cats to become agressive, unstable or just plain sick when dealing with grief, specially considering she was Mari's cat, it'd also make sense as to why she is in the blank space and why she guides Sunny to the truth, anyways, Omori angst again for dinner, guess that's my life....

I feel like nobody has talked about this in the Minecraft fandom so I’d like to.

Something I really really hate about certain theorists is their pretentiousness. Every theory deserves to be heard out. If you have a basis to stand on, and an amount of evidence large enough to make your point believable, then you are completely valid! No matter how outlandish it is, this community is about having fun with hypotheticals, I think people forget that.

On that note also- no topic is “too hypothetical” again, if you have a basis to stand on you’re valid, especially if it works well with the rest of our interpretation with tying things together and whatnot. This entire idea is made off of hypotheticals; I’m serious, we’re usually just in some kind of echo chamber. Pull the average Minecraft player aside and tell them about the nether war, you’ll look like a crazy person, so why not go all out and treat it like an actual world to explore rather than leaving out entire subjects because you feel it’s too specific or far removed from the source? Isn’t that supposed to be the fun part?

Minecraft lore, although heavily implied, is very much up to interpretation for each individual person that gets into it. You have no right to tell people they’re stupid for believing something. You just need to be able to explain it so it doesn’t look like you’re just saying things for the sake of making up the most niche concept.

Because that is another issue, people get so caught up with having the most “unique interpretation” or a “fresh take” that they spew nonsense and get angry when anybody asks them for an explanation, because they never have one. It’s about one-upping everybody else for these people, and it’s so annoying. They’re always incredibly rude about it and pretend like they’re the know-it-all whilst oftentimes not being in the know of basic things stated in actual Minecraft.net articles or even the wikipedias trivia page at that point.

It’s just upsetting. We’re all in the same community, it is an extremely small space and there is absolutely no need to shit on people! Some of my theorist friends literally don’t wanna share their ideas on the internet because of individuals like this.

Be better. There is no one true canon of Minecraft lore, you can say “hey! What you says goes against (something)”, that isn’t arguing nor an attack, that’s just adding onto somebody else’s theory and looking for a conversation, but don’t say “it’s so stupid people genuinely believe this, it’s obviously not true. (Insert take that is never explained in a passive aggressive manner).”

Ofcourse I most commonly see this happen with big interpretations like that of The Game Theorists YouTube channel or RGNs ideas, but it goes to a point where like I said before people will just claim things because they want to one up everyone else in uniqueness. There is no passion nor interest, it isn’t a theory, it’s just a statement made with the objective to shit on people for being “too mainstream.”.

Ofcourse this comes naturally with any lore focused fandom, but c’mon man we’re like 100-200 active people max, there’s no reason to start stupid drama for no fucking reason other than to feed your own ego over something as silly as Minecraft lore. It’s ridiculous.

Ofcourse this usually happens on platforms like discord or reddit but I’ve seen my fare share of YouTube takes outside of the comments you’d expect to find here and there too. It’s just sad. Clicking on a post seeing that all the replies or comments are just bashing other people for not having unique enough takes is just sad. How about we let people have fun, my god.

If somebody tells me about something they’re passionate about because they’re looking for a community of some kind I’m not going to go “no you’re wrong and also what you’re really passionate about is dumb and bad and mine is better because it’s less popular”. But appearently many people on here don’t get that.

TLDR: just don’t be rude? I think that sums it up pretty well.

Color Study: Red

Both of these minis were a study in painting a (relatively) monocolor red scheme, done ~2 years apart.

Clovis, from the Zombicide: Black Plague game. CMON miniatures. Mostly Blood Angels Red contrast paint glazed over a manual black/white undercoat.

One of my wife's unpainted Eschers, from G*mes W*rkshop's Necromunda; I decided to finish the set for use in Firefight and Deadzone.

This was the first of several so the implementation isn't perfect, but she's one of my favorites nonetheless. For one, the off-pink steel is very useful in certain schemes (Pro Acryl Coal Black -> Neutral Grey -> Pink -> Pink + White).

Secondly, in the words of Al Pacino: she's got a great ass. GW puts way too many details on their models, so on these Eschers I shaved off excess doodads and made up the difference with a little Greenstuff. I was reading some Catwoman graphic novels around this time and wanted practice painting latex (similar but subtly different from glossy leather). Plus it seems like the model companies only make space for skinny women. A far future sans curvy gals would be grim and dark indeed.

I’m really behind on beast yeast lore (and CRK lore in general, been planning to grind the game but putting it off because I don’t find CRK that fun outside of enjoying the story and art a lot) but here’s my Silent Salt theories/predictions/fanon that will probably end up being completely inaccurate because something overtook me

I like to think they have some kind of mind control ability, since White Lily has the Light of Freedom I feel like that would be a fitting and interesting threat for her to go against, opposites and all that

But for the silence aspect my backstory headcanon for Silent Salt is that they discovered that witches ate cookies and tried to tell others, only for the witches to remove or cover their mouth somehow as punishment (I guess the beasts don’t need to eat or Silent Salt doesn’t anymore or maybe they still have a mouth but can’t use it to speak idk???)

Cookies losing trust and reacting negatively to this (caused by some thinking it was deserved for “lying” about the witches and by just like… ableism? Which I guess exists in the cookie world?) + this being a massive change and violation of bodily autonomy for Silent Salt was what led to their crash out

So after being forced into silence they regained their voice by taking away other’s

Idk whether they just want power over others or believe that the cookies shouldn’t have free will due to being “foolish” and making poor choices. Since l have no actual evidence for any of this I’m just going to decide it’s a mix of both, they genuinely think they should be leading Cookiekind but taking power over others makes them feel better after the whole “creators took mouth away” thing. They want to become ruler of all cookies no matter what violence, force, or mind control it takes.

For the record I do think they can communicate without using the mind control, pen and paper exist and I’m pretty sure braille exists in the CRK universe so why wouldn’t sign language also be a thing. But I picture them playing up the silence thing when trying to be a threat as having others speak for them adds to the mystery and makes them seem more like an ominous force than another cookie.

The assistant cookies are notably not mind controlled in my theory, just manipulated. They’ve gained Silent Salt’s trust by showing loyalty to them.

Also I believe the theory about Silent Salt being the first to corrupt and somewhat believe the theory about corruption order being the reverse of the introduction order.

I think Gingerbrave is going to be helping White Lily during her section of Beast Yeast? I’m behind on lore but I think I saw a cutscene hinting towards that somewhere online? And that would fit this scenario because of Silent Salt originally being the virtue of solidarity. Since then, White Lily, and Gingerbrave would all know the truth about witches eating cookies and thus would feel solidarity with eachother. In this scenario I definitely think White Lily would try to extend friendship to Salt like PV did with Shadow Milk, White Lily feels guilty for what dark enchantress did so I feel like she’d see herself as a hypocrite if she didn’t offer Silent redemption. In my perfect dream fanon scenario Silent Salt actually takes her offer (White Lily already has Dark Enchantress to deal with plus there’s potential with how the other characters would react to a beast wanting to change plus would be a good end to this section of beast yeast plus I just want it to happen and it’s not like any of this has actual evidence). However being real it’s more than possible they’ll do what SM did and freak out and leave instead.

Also as for Silent Salt’s opinions on White Lily I honestly don’t know. There’s like a clear split in fan theories due to the “salt kills white lilies” funfact and the “each beast that gets introduced is more obsessed with their ancient than the previous” thing being kind of at odds with eachother. Sound off on what you think Silent Salt is going to do

That’s all :) I don’t have any evidence for this stuff so it probably won’t end up being accurate but I think it’s cool and it’s canon to me until the actual update comes out

Idk what but there's something about Mhin that is driving me crazy, like when I first heard of the game I really thought I would absolutely LOVE Vere, and I did until this mf came along, Mhin is just so complex and adorable like wahh have you seen them??? that attitude is something I can thrive for, like fuck when I first played the demo I was squealing like some 13 year old to the point my roommate banged on my door because I was too noisy lmao, Just know if the full game is out they're rout is what I'm taking first.

Back to the complex and adorable part, I am way too interested about they're curse, like what did they do to get that??? were they born with it?? who knows, and they're knowledge of soulless anatomy? do they have medical knowledge as well?? what about when the MC said were they a scientist??? like wtf?? what do you mean???, Why do they have such a bratty attitude?? what if it's forced?? is there a reason to it? I think so yeah. The way they blush and would look a way? it sends butterflies into my stomach it's adorable ToT, My oc (Alon)are 5'10-5'11 so I imagine standing beside them like omg?? I'll still let them take control tho, they're just so interesting to me.

I was rewatching poppy playtime videos and wanted to point out

In RESTRICTED_restoration.mp4 the guy who got turned into Bron gets attacked by a character off screen, all we see of them is their paw

I just realized that this was the first look at the new enemy in chap 3

At the very least the paws are around the same and it’d kinda make sense with the way the toys were acting.

Like if the chap 3 enemy is supposed to be like a leader type it’d make sense that in this system he’d attack first before everyone else descends upon bron.

(Also I think it’s interesting how each boss up to this point is going up in rank, from security guard still doing their job, to caretaker rebelling from their job but still not with the “flock”, now to leader of the flock)

Color study: Orange

I painted these minis two years apart; both were studies in using monochromatic orange scheme.

Samson, from the Zombicide: Black Plague boxed game by CMON miniatures.

An mildly converted Escher from the Necromunda game by G*mes W*rkshop, now for use as a Reb leader in Mantic's Firefight and Deadzone.

Differentiating orange and red can be a bit tricky, since it's tempting to highlight red with orange. Ditto for orange and yellow: push too hard into yellow and suddenly nothing is orange.

The bronze was achieved by mixing together two complementary colors: orange and blue. The two hues oppose each other so you don't need to pick a dark blue, just something really saturated. Together they make the dark brown base, and then by adding progressively more orange I highlighted upwards. This is one of my new favorite ways to paint NMM because you can be so intentional with your colors.

Other than that, I'd say Escher #2 came out pretty well. The skin and latex are slightly more practiced (that's a custom, greenstuff butt btw), the weapons are evocative and pop well. But frankly my favorite part of the model was an afterthought: the dirty cloth and feathers. I almost chose not to distinguish the feathers at all, as they're kind of a low-value detail. But I'm glad I did, they draw attention to the dirty cloth which illustrates my "sketch style" method.

@lolipopman416 Ah, yes, I think I listed them out for an ask in the past, but I'll just give you an updated list here! (And maybe add it to my FAQ, so the info's a bit more convenient to find, heh.)

Resist: good at targeting single enemies (Wonder (Janosik), Fleuret, Mont, Bui, Sepia, Messa, Skull, Queen). This tends to manifest as followup attacks that hit one target, or status effects/damage buffs that apply against specific targets.

Control: good at dealing with groups of enemies (Closer, Summer Motoha, Joker, Panther, Fox, Noir). This tends to manifest as lots of multi-target attacks, and bonuses for using those attacks in certain ways.

Surrender: focused around applying debuffs to gain an advantage (Key, Rin, Vino). This tends to manifest as a focus on a particular status effect, and the ability to do extra damage/effects to enemies once they're inflicted with it.

Rescue: focuses on healing companions (Cattle, Summer Tomoko, Marian, Mona). This has so far always included at least one healing skill, but often other healing abilities can be triggered as well.

Superior: good at buffing teammates and improving their effectiveness (Moko, Leon, Riddle, Chord). This has so far always manifested as unique buffs/status effects, sometimes becoming fully triggered by additional conditions.

Defense: good at protecting teammates and keeping them alive (Soy, Yuki, Cherish). This tends to manifest as shield-focused abilities, but Soy instead draws fire to himself, and buffs the team's max health temporarily.

Elucidation: the designation used for navigators (Wind, Okyann, Puppet, Phoebe, Oracle). This obviously has a wide array of specific applications, but tends to revolve around unique buffs or debuffs that the navigator can grant/inflict, and obviously each navigator has their own fights/team compositions they're most suited for.

These categories also apply to all of Wonder's Sea of Souls Personas, but I doubt you care as much about that in particular, and it'd honestly be way too time-consuming to list them all out, haha. But I hope this was what you're looking for!

For the most part, these combat roles/designations don't really matter in the game- there's no inherent penalty for having a team of three Resist characters and an Elucidation, for instance- but there are two places where you need to pay attention to them: Marthym Tasks, which often require 1-2 characters of a specific role, and certain Door to Ominous Dreams fights, where the survival-type fights require you to have at least one Rescue or Defense teammate, making the enemies much stronger if you lack one.

That said, the roles are also a bit useful for speculating what a character will be like as soon as they're announced! I remember it was interesting to first hear that Summer Tomoko was a Rescue instead of a Superior, because that implied a distinct change in skill set for her. We also had an idea of what to expect for Cherish, since we knew he was Defense before we'd even confirmed which character he actually was, haha!

It may also be a useful avenue for future theorizing- right now our story team lacks any Surrender or Superior teammates, so that may be what we're getting next! In general, we're lowest on Superior and Defense teammates (though they did just add Cherish), so we may be seeing more of them in the near future.
