Another demonstration of a sample that would similarly match the image by using different techniques would be hand embroidery.

I used couching for this mini sample of demonstration to see if this would look effective like the other samples.

To do this,I had to sketch out in pencil the shape I wanted it to have in a spiral shape,then I move on to choosing the most similar thread like the image sample. I then use a bright orange embroidery thread to wrap round the thicker thread around the shape. this will slowly develop into the shape just like the image.

This was an interesting way to develop my samples and eye catching as the texture feels different to the others,unique. Overall I would think to use this in some of my designs with small details to make it look more unique.

sorry if this essay is shit i intended this to be like a 2 paragraph rant and i kinda had to explain a lot of shit. also i didnt tag this as ai cause i want the people who block the ai tags to see this.

i feel like the ai art discourse is kinda like when sampling first got big. like no, using ai/sampling for art doesnt inherantly mean that youre lazy or unoriginal or stealing, but its kinda hard and takes actual work and creativity to make work that is good (yeah yeah i know good is subjective) and respects artists.

Obviously there are nuances. but what I mean is that generative ai can be used to make art, even art that is good and cultured and respectful and progressive etc. but it really pisses me off when people say ai art isnt art. like yeah it is. do it like it? not often. but you cant just say that sampling makes an artist untalented, unoriginal, a theif, etc. sampling is a tool that can be used to make like incredible art.

i think there is a future for artists who use ai. i believe that it can be great, especially if you look at stuff people were doing with generative neural networks before 2023. however yeah, using openai or deepseek to do stuff is not great. you and i both have heard why a million times. but like. please. please get your head out of the dirt. please do not see something new and different and immediately think that it is bad.

also this shit affects kids too. i think people never really do think of the children. they grow out of it, if i didnt grow out of my 11-year-old beliefs i would be a miserable asshole. i often scroll youtube shorts (get over yourself) and i always see young artists making these posts doing the same argument against a strawman. i get that its like an animation meme thats why theyre all the same. but like.

do you see what is happening? there are thousands of young artists who make art who are incredibly impressionable and are also the future of art as we know it and theyre animation memes are them parroting reactionary views. they are growing up in an artistic culture where burgeoning art forms are to be shunned

their strawmans say "oh its for accessibility" but we all know its not. openai and deepseek knows its not for accessibility. and an artist should know that its not for accessibility either. the difference is that for openai and deepseek ai is for money but for an artist ai is a whole other medium

its also kinda like how games are art. this is not a controversial statement. but like 10 years ago this was very decisive. i think the progressive artist should learn to program to push art forward. because if we take the the time to splice correctly and use samples to create a novel work, if we use the nature of play to tell a unique story, and use computers to generate all new styles of artwork we can do something greater.

Okay, I'm going to have to play more with running audio signals through the clock divider module. Fuzz at suboctaves, or at subharmonics — and there's some really intriguing sonic possibilities that come from pairing a sample and the divided down version of it in a ring mod or analog logic setup.
