Ever since I started crocheting and discovered just how much I enjoyed it, I wanted to take a stab at recreating one of my own characters. So I've been chipping away at this little Mip doll in my free time for the past three months, and to see her finally complete is super exciting!

Much of this project relied on a seahorse mermaid pattern by PinkMouseBoutique, but there are a handful of details in Mip's design that weren't covered by the pattern - including arm fins, ear fins, wavy hair, and her blue markings/facial features. I had to do a lot of experimentation and internet scouring to find solutions for these details (which is probably why this doll took so dang long, haha). But the creative problem solving involved in this project was honestly really fun, and to see it all come together was very rewarding! I even created my own pattern for her hair and I'm SO proud of that! This challenge allowed me to develop a bunch of skills that will definitely help during future projects c:

I'm honestly just really happy with how she turned out and am so grateful for this new art form I can enjoy!

She also has a wire skeleton, which means her arms and tail are posable! I'm glad she's able to hold the shells she loves so much ;w;

Something something Uzumaki chakra having an strange effect on Nagato's eyes, originally Izuna's, which cause him to see Izuna's ghost haunting him (as he is tethered to the mortal plain by his own eyes). First, only as a figure at the corner of his vision, then something clearer, yet still blurry, until eventually it takes the shape of a man. A strange man, invisible to others, that is always shadowing his steps. He thought it was normal at first, that everybody had their own silent watcher, but later found out it was something unique to him. The man doesn't seem to realize that Nagato can see him, and doesn't seem to hear him either. Or anything in fact, as if he was unconscious, yet he walks and looks at the world with glassy eyes.

Once Nagato starts training with Jiraiya and his chakra develops, the silent man becomes more solid, still unseen by others, but also more present, Nagato observes as the watcher grows more and more aware each day. He sees flickers of confusion from time to time, but then the man becomes a ghost once again. Sometimes he'd walk, restless, then stop, and drift. Until one day his awareness lasts enough for him to notice Nagato.

"Rinnegan," he whispers, then "Uzumaki."

His eyes glaze over before he can say anything else. Only then Nagato realizes how expressive the man could be, how clearly he could see the surprise, awe, fear, and finally disdain on his face.

For the first time in his life, Nagato is afraid of the watcher.

I’m assuming this is about the pride oc asks so here we go

1. What's your oc's gender identity? What's their relationship to their gender?

Mip is trans feminine!

2. What's your oc's orientation? (Romantic/sexual/platonic alterous ect) Do they have opinions about it?

Mip’s a lesbian. She doesn’t really have any opinions on it Mip just thinks women are pretty.

3. How did your oc discover themself? Did something cause them to question, or did they always know?

Mip didn’t always know. It’s just when she heard what Trans Feminine was she was like, “Oh, that’s how I feel!” And just went on with life now knowing its identity.

4. Is your oc's environment supportive about their identity? How does this impact them?

Yeah! They’re an alien in space. Homophobia and transphobia doesn’t really exist in any species other than humans. None of the alien characters in the story are queerphobic in any way. It doesn’t really impact Mip in any way as being queer isn’t really seen as anything different.

5. How did you figure out your oc's identity?

I just wanted to make a lesbian love story about an alien and an astronaut and thought “but what if they were t4t?”

6. How does your oc feel about labels? Theirs, or in general?

It doesn’t really have opinions on labels. She has labels and it uses them when it needs to, but she doesn’t really have an opinion on labels other than they exist.

7. Is there something that could cause your oc to question their identity? What?

No not really. Once Mip heard was trans fem was, she knew that’s what she was and continued on in life without ever questioning it again. She’s always know she’s a lesbian because it has always been attracted to women.

8. Have they had struggles with their identity, be it due to internal or external reasons?

Nope.

9. Are there cultural or lore specific aspects to their identity? If applicable, does their species affect it?

No not really that I can think of. She’s an alien so the labels she uses are different than the labels we use on earth, but the labels she uses are the alien equivalents to lesbian and trans fem for her species.

10. Does your oc celebrate Pride? How?

Pride month isn’t really a thing in space. There’s never been any queer phobia so there was never a need for a pride month. Also time is different where Mip lives compared to earth because it’s in a different solar system. But if Luna introduced her to Pride Mip would be more than happy to celebrate!

11. Is your oc open about their identity? Are they more lowkey or more blunt about it? Why or why not?

Yeah she’s pretty open. Everyone is. There isn’t a reason for any of the aliens in space to hide their identities.

12. Does/did your oc ever wish they could change the way they are? Why? If it's in the past, how did they get over the feeling? (this can be about internalized homo/transphobia)

No.

13. Would your oc be open to a poly relationship? Why or why not?

yeah. She doesn’t really care how many people she or her partner(s) are with just as long as she gets to be with the people she loves.

Yes!! I do!! The first ones that come to mind are my oc Callisto Mars from my oc story The Secrets of the Mars Family, the main antagonist from the story Mip and Luna are from, as well as my two ocs Mai and Lu from my new oc story that I haven’t posted about yet.

15. Do any of your ocs use neopronouns? Which ones?

I can’t really think of any ocs of mine who use neos but I know I have or would have some. I know my oc Lyra Mars and Mai Pham use any pronouns (which includes neos)

16. Did you ever change an oc's identity when they were already established? Why?

Yeah. Sometimes I just decided I wanted to change it. I was basically like “but what if they were MORE queer?”

17. Do you share identity with any of your ocs? Which ones?

None of my ocs are Enderhoard but I have plenty of aroace ocs!

18. Do you prefer to give your ocs specific labels, or keep it unspecified? Why? If applicable, do you change their labels depending on circumstance?

sometimes I have specific labels in mind while other times I don’t have anything specific in mind, I just know they’re queer.

19. Do you have preferences about depicting homo/transphobia in your stories? What, and why? Does it vary by story?

I don’t really like writing queer phobia. It just sorta depends what story it is and whether that’s something any of the characters would do or if it would be a big source of conflict in the story, as well as where and when the story takes place.

not really.

Hmmm this trip i have a little box of trail mix (the Mega Omega brand, forgive me but I don’t make my own) but some of the best road trip snacks ive had were these fried sesame glutinous rice balls with red bean filling, normally found in dim sum restaurants.

One box of these puppies (usually served 7-8 in a box if they’re small in size) will keep you sated for like two hours (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

What are Mip and Ardyn's favorite things to do for fun?

Apologies to the person who sent this ask…it’s been sitting in my inbox for over a month and I fully intended to answer it, but life’s just been very hectic lately X’D But with Mermay ending in a couple days, I figured it’d be fitting to answer this before the month is over!

Mip’s favorite thing to do for fun is collect seashells! It’s a hobby she always wanted to pursue as a (younger) child - unfortunately, she wasn’t allowed to keep any shells because her birth family was nomadic and very paranoid. It wasn’t convenient to lug around shells at her diminutive size, and her parents believed such bulky keepsakes would make them more obvious targets to predators. It wasn’t until the events of “Stronger Than Blood” took place and Ardyn became her adopted brother that she was able to collect shells at her leisure (with Ardyn’s help for some of the larger ones)! Now she has a growing collection in their shared cave c:

Ardyn’s favorite thing to do for fun is race around at high speeds in the open ocean! Despite being chill and generally pleasant while in the presence of other mers, Ardyn can start to feel a bit cooped up in the village and needs to get out some zoomies every once in a while. He loves being able to swim fast and let loose once there are no smaller mers nearby who could get caught in his wake! Which is actually kind of ironic because two yellowtail snapper mer twins from the village (both just a bit younger than Ardyn) enjoy racing with him, and those little guys can keep up! Ardyn appreciates the company and challenge they provide.

Shrike Chapter One 2.0 is actually the same as Shrike Chapter One document I had, it just made me re-save it because I hadn't touched the damn thing in so long lol.

It's actually an Age of Adeline AU for Batman I was playing around with in late 2022, but real-world stuff got in the way and I put it to the wayside.
