Innocence at It's finest
Title: Innocence at It's finest
Fandom: Danganronpa 3
Pairing: Kiibo x Innocent! Naïve! Reader x Kokichi Ouma (Slight Reader x Miu Iruma)
Trigger Warning(s): Slight Cuss words (Miu being Miu), Dirty-minded people are aware of the topic on the story
Note: (No executions or deaths took place and so the students who are early to get executed are still alive same goes to the victimized students.)
You're the Ultimate Daredevil of Hope's Peak Academy and to everyone's surprise, you're very innocent. You're very easy to be influenced and thank god no one has influenced you, yet.
You've already broke your bones once or twice from doing dares from the students, but no major or serious injuries had occurred and so trials wouldn't take place since you're still alive and well.
Right now you're chilling in the library and you're reading a book suggested by Himiko, it's a book about mysterious witches getting blackmailed by villagers and you don't really understand half of the book, what the heck is a guillotine, anyway? Or a noose? You don't really understand those items or concepts embedded in the book.
While you're at the 5th chapter in the book, a certain purple-haired boy kept staring at you, straight in the eye.
"Whaddya want Koki-kun?" You placed down the book on a near table
"Nishishi, oh nothing (N/n)." Kokichi did his signature laugh
"Are you sure? It seems like you've been staring at me for quite some time." You commented
"My real intention is to make you uncomfortable or to make you blush."
You tilted your head "What?"
"Nishishishi~ Just keep on reading."
Then a certain robot entered the library and he approached the both of you.
"Hi, Kii-kun!" You cheerfully greeted the robot
"Hi, devi- I mean (Y/n)." Kiibo's face turned into a radiant red after the mistake he almost bursted out
Kokichi noticed this and so he took this as an advantage.
"Do robots have dicks?" Kokichi innocently asked
"I-what are you talking about? Is this a robophobic question?" The poor robot's face turned red as a tomato
"What's a dick?" You blurted out "And also why is your face red Kii-kun? Do you need a reboot?"
"A dick is a-" "Go ask Miu!" Kokichi cuts Kiibo off
Kiibo grabs Kokichi by the ear "Are you insane?! Miu is harsh at words. Give (Y/n) a more light-hearted answer, you robophobe!" Kiibo whispers on Kokichi's ear
The two boys looked at the front and to their surprises, (Y/n) is gone and with their book.
"This is all your fault! You'll stain (Y/n)'s innocence!" Kiibo shouted at Kokichi
"Me? It's your fault for entering here. Nishishishi~. Besides (Y/n) has to learn more!" Kokichi happily exclaimed
~~~
"Miu-chan!" You called out to the Ultimate Inventor
"What do you need you innocent shithead?" Miu realized what she said and so she covered her mouth
You tilted your head "Huh?"
"Nevermind what I said, you should never repeat those words. What do you need?" Miu asked
"What's a dick?" You innocently asked as your eyes gleam with curiosity
Miu loudly laughed "Those two dickheads must've influenced you to asking me." She muttered
"What's so funny about it?" You lightly asked
"Nothing, nothing." Miu stopped showing off little giggles
"Follow me (Y/n)." Miu held your arm as she dragged you to the kitchen
~~~
"Where's (Y/n)?!" Kiibo flailed his arms as he asked Shuichi
"Calm down, you haven't even answered my question for a long time. Nishishishi~." Kokichi giggled as he touched Kiibo's shoulder
"(Y/n)? Oh, I saw them going to the kitchen with Miu." Shuichi answered but he's confused with the situation
Kiibo didn't even question why at the kitchen.
"Thank you Shuichi-kun!" Kiibo bowed in a polite manner as he ran off straight to the kitchen
"No problem?" Shuichi awkwardly stared at the running panicking robot
"We're not done yet, Shuichi." Kokichi winked as he followed the robot
Shuichi blushed "Ahahah..." He gulped out
~~~
"STOP RIGHT THERE MIU!" Kiibo shouted at the Ultimate Inventor
You and Miu awkwardly stare at the rushing robot.
What Kiibo saw is that you held a banana and Miu pointing at the tip of the banana.
Miu stopped pointing at the banana and she smirked.
"Oh? What? You're disturbing our lesson. Dumbass." Miu patted your head
"Nishishishi~ What have you learned (Y/n)?" Kokichi entered the scene
Miu approached Kokichi and she slapped him straight in the face.
"We're not yet done you pervert." She crossed her arms
Miu went back to you and she went back pointing at the banana, again.
"W-w-what? I've underestimated her..." Kiibo embarrassingly muttered
"Mhm, Miu has a more child-friendly explanation." Kokichi commented
Miu glared at the two boys "What are you staring at? Go scram you two dumbasses."
Kokichi and Kiibo left the kitchen just to not interfere Miu's "lesson" with (Y/n).
"Should we wait here?" Kiibo asked Kokichi
"Yeah, sure." The prankster agreed
~~~
"Thanks, Miu-chan!" You thanked the Ultimate Inventor as the both of you exited the kitchen
"No problem (Y/n)! You can ask me more questions!" Miu patted your head
"Hai!" You gave Miu a childish smile and a thumbs up
"Anyway, I have to go now, bye!" The Ultimate Inventor parted ways as she went to the opposite direction
You saw Kiibo and Kokichi staring up at the ceiling.
"Hi! Kii-kun. Hi! Koki-kun!" You greeted the two boys
"What have you learned (N/n)-kun/chan?" Purple-haired boy asked first
"Well, a dick is a ma-" "Don't." Kiibo cuts you off as he blushed
"Oh? Okay then!" You happily said
"Hey, (Y/n)-kun/chan. Would you like to go in my room for the night?" Kokichi smugly asked
"Sure!" You happily beamed
"Wanna join us Kiibo?" You asked
"Fine." The robot's face still keeps on blushing
"Let's go then!" Kokichi drags the two of you to his room
~~~
What is the prankster gonna do to you in his room?
Oh, and also speaking of the book, you're gonna ask Miu about the guillotine and the noose, maybe she'll let you use those!
HELLO!! I had this idea in mind, i would also do this if i were in the game😭, but anyways here I go!!
Can you do Miu, Kyoko, Celeste, Mondo, Sayaka and Kaede with a Reader who always ends up screaming and fainting whenever they discover a dead body??
Thanks again!! :D
Honestly who wouldn't 😫
Miu, Kyoko, Celeste, Mondo, Sayaka and Kaede with an S/O Who Screams and Faints When They See a Body
Miu Iruma
The first time it happened, she freaked the eff out
"Woah! Dammit, (Name)! Hey, virgins! You deal with this while I get this fool to their room!"
Then she picks you up and carries you to your room
And she'll wait until you wake up
When you do, she'll jump on you and hug you tight
"Dammit... Don't scare me like that again..."
Now she keeps a close eye on you
If she hears the body discovery announcement before you, she'll go to your room with you so you don't have to see it
If you just happen to be there for it, she usually catches you and brings you back to your room
She might roll her eyes at you, but she's actually really concerned
She freaks out a little when she sees a body, but she's way more worried about you
Miu may be loud, but she cares
Kyoko Kirigiri
She wasn't too surprised when it happened
You reacted how anyone would react, which was understandable
When you fainted, she was lightly startled, but kept her cool
She picked you up, carried you to your room, and went right back to the crime scene
She can't be around you a lot in these situations, because she has to investigate the body, but she checks on you before and after the investigation
She can often tell when something's wrong before the announcement goes off, so she has you go to your room while she investigates
She's great at preventing you from seeing a body, so these situations don't come up often
But if they do, she can usually tell, and she'll catch you before you hit the ground
And then calmly take you to your room
Kyoko is very understanding, and great at taking care of you, even though she has leave to investigate the body
You'll never understand how she does it 😨
Celestia Ludenburg
She's very good at keeping her composure when she sees a body
Because she literally doesn't care 😅
When you scream and faint, she's very concerned, but keeps the same unbothered demeanor
"Oh dear. Hiro, would you assist in carrying them to your room?"
She's not letting Hifumi put his hands anywhere near you
When you wake up, she brings you a water bottle and checks to see if you're hurt
Even though she reacts the exact opposite way, she doesn't judge you or say you're overreacting
And she'll stay with you, because she's not going anywhere near the body
And she has you stay with her at all times so you don't accidentally stumble in on a murder scene
And when the body discovery announcement goes off, she guides you back to your room
"Come along, dear. I'm sure you don't want to see this."
And she'll stay with you, because once again, screw that
Celeste may not care about the others, but she does care about you
And she'll take great care of you when you faint
Mondo Owada
He doesn't freak out too badly when he sees a body
If anything, he would be angry that someone got murdered
Especially if the victim was a girl
When you fainted for the first time, he freaked out and directed all his attention to you
"SHIT! Uh... The rest of you deal with this. I'll be back."
He'll pick you up and carry you to your room
When you explain to him what happened, he's super understanding about it
Now he'll make sure you're with him at all times so you don't accidentally come across a body
When he hears a body discovery announcement, he'll have you stay in your room while he goes to check it out
He's often put on guard duty, which pisses him off because he cares more about you, but he begrudgingly does it anyway
If you accidentally come across a dead body while he's with you, he'll catch you and take you to your room
He hates that he can't stay with you during the investigation, but he'll still do his best to take care of you
Sayaka Maizono
She doesn't faint, but she does scream very loudly when she sees a body
The first time you fainted, she freaked the hell out
She asked Mondo to carry you to your room
She understands why you reacted that way, and she makes sure you don't see the body when a new one pops up
When the body discovery announcement goes off, she guides you to your room so you don't have to see it
And she'll stay with you, cuz she doesn't wanna see that shit either
But if, for some reason, you are around to see the body, she'll try to catch you, but fail miserably
She'll have to have someone carry you back to your room for her
But she is very caring towards you, and she'll do her best to make sure you don't see something you shouldn't
Kaede Akamatsu
She freaks out a little when she sees a body, but not the same way as you
She's honestly more concerned about you than the body
She'll have Rantaro help carry you to your room and she'll check on you as soon as she can
Perfectly understanding about why you reacted that way
And she's very attentive about it as well
She doesn't want to participate in the investigations, so she'll stay in your room with you
She's not good at predicting when someone might be dead, so you'll end up stumbling in on a lot of murder scenes
She feels bad, but she'll at least take care of you when it happens
When the announcement goes off, she'll take you back to your room and talk to Shuichi later
She does her best to keep you from seeing a body, but she fails most of the time
But she is good at helping you when you need it
Okay so, first of all, hi! Glad to see a new Danganronpa writing blog! I was wondering if it was okay to request some hcs for Kaede, Miu and Kirumi (if you don't write for multiple characters, choose whoever you want) with a mute s/o. Have a nice day! ^^
Kaede, Miu and Kirumi with a mute s/o
Exams are killing me but anyways I finally have some free time to write this— I hope you have a nice day too!
The reader is g/n and knows how to speak sign language.
—Mod Korekiyo.
—At first, you needed to write down whatever you wanted to tell her since she didn't know sign language, but after a while, she began to understand all of your gestures perfectly. There was a point where you didn't even need your notepad to talk to her anymore.
—The way she knows what you mean without any words is almost scary. The communication between you two is always fluent, even more than with others.
—Kaede did ask you to teach her some basic signs, though. She wasn't losing anything for knowing a bit more, after all.
—She learned some other signs by her own and randomly showed them to you only to surprise you. She knew perfectly what she was doing when she said 'I love you, sweetheart' in sign language out of nowhere and got you blushing.
—She doesn't mind talking for you to others as long as you're okay with it. Kaede would probably ask you first before saying anything if she sees you don't have anything to write on and you're struggling to communicate.
—If she realizes someone's trying to make fun of you because of your mutism, she looks at you, waiting for your permission to step in. Once you nod, you don't need to do anything else. You know that person will regret it.
—After giving them a piece of her mind, she holds your hand and takes you somewhere else before they can say anything else.
—Will try to make you smile afterwards, no matter how. Tickling is always an option, according to her.
—"I love you more than anything, okay? Never forget it."
—An interesting combination, really.
—At first she thought you were mocking her. Why didn't you say anything? Was that little joke funny to you?
—"Motherfucker, speak up! I'm not gonna read whatever you write on that shitty..."
—"...Oh."
—It was kind of awkward when you told her you were mute. She tried to apologize in her way.
—As your girlfriend, Miu is still... Miu. She's glad to have someone around who can't scold her for what she says... at least, verbally.
—She teases you sometimes, but it's never something serious to the point where she makes fun of you for being mute.
—And she won't stand anyone mocking you either. The moment she hears someone saying something bad about you she doesn't stand back for a second, verbally and physically if she thinks it's necessary. You'd have to pull her away if you don't want to see her getting involved in an actual fight.
—"Why the fuck did you do that? I can't let them go after talking shit about you!"
—Kinda mad she didn't get the chance to beat the crap out of them but will calm down eventually and just mock them back as always.
—She wasn't that interested in learning sign language, to be honest. But she made an effort considering it was for you.
—Miu was smart enough to learn it in a short period of time. Or at least, to learn what she wanted.
—We won't go into detail.
—She doesn't admit it, but she loves to have quiet, peaceful moments with you from time to time. Just her sketching her inventions and you doing whatever you please. She doesn't mind you taking a look on her next project—the fact that you're interested makes her feel very proud of her work.
—She speaks sometimes, telling you how her day was, explaining what she's working on or just making a random joke. You know you don't need to answer since she's too focused to look up.
—If you kiss her cheek and surprise her instead, her confident personality will drop only to leave her blushed.
—That only shows that you don't need any words to fluster her.
—Kirumi already knew how to speak sign language, so communication had never been a problem between you two.
—She likes to practice with you sometimes since she isn't as fluent as she used to be.
—Whenever you're very excited and start to move your hands faster, she tries to follow everything you say, but it'd be a lie if she said she didn't get lost appreciating how cute you were instead.
—Sometimes, when you both have time for yourselves as a couple and cuddle, you take the palm of her hand and start to trace letters that always end in a message for her. Kirumi just giggles as she tries to follow your little game and decipher the message.
—" 'I love you.' Oh...! That was very sweet, darling."
—She joins and traces messages for you as well, making it a little more difficult. If you do guess them though, she rewards you with a kiss.
—Kirumi really likes to have quiet moments with you where none of you has to say anything: it's just you and her enjoying each other's company. If you say something during those kind of moments, she might just answer back in sign language too.
—She makes sure you didn't forget anything before going out. And anything means anything.
—"Dear... you didn't forget your notepad again, didn't you?"
—It had happened before.
I hope this request is good!
Could I get headcanons (you can include nsfw or not, your choice!) For Danganronpa Makoto Naegi, Nagito Komaeda and/or Miu Iruma with a innocent!reader (they don't understand dirty concepts or jokes of anykind)?
sure thing ! i added a bit more to the request if you don’t mind
- makoto, nagito, and miu with an innocent s/o
gender neutral reader
warnings: swearing, slight nsfw (mentions of sex/loss of viginity), a toy is mentioned like once lol
nsfw under the tag !
makoto naegi
- my god, this boy is flustered
- for real, he feels like an awkward parent handling a five year old
- he thinks to himself “am i even allowed to say anything?” as you bomb him with question after question. he feels pretty guilty, like he’s tainting your innocence.
- just how bad was your health class?
- although, he kind of thinks it’s cute
- Makoto isn’t a dirty minded person so it doesn’t really affect him. he prefers someone whos personality and humor isn’t dirty jokes
- he’s always there to comfort you when the guys make dirty jokes around you
- “Ha! that’s what she said!” you turn to Makoto, “Makoto, what do they mean?” “D-don’t worry about it.”
- i couldn’t think of another joke oh my god help
- when you ask for the sex talk his face starting burning up. he couldn’t even speak for five minutes. he does his best, trying to keep it as calm yet educational as possible
- when you ask him to show you, he freezes. he would ask you over and over again if you’re 100% sure (we love consent). when you tell him your positive, he agrees
- he handles you with care, almost afraid that he’s going to break you. but he starts to relax when you tell him you’re fine
- makoto loves his innocence s/o, he wouldn’t want it any other way
nagito komaeda
- he’s pretty intrigued that you don’t have any knowledge of dirty jokes
- he calls you his little hope angel because of your innocence
- Nagito is also not a very dirty person so he doesn’t really care
- is ready to THROW HANDS if Kazuichi or Teruteru crosses the line
- he starts to get on edge when they’re around you. it’s not that he doesn’t trust he beloved classmates, but he knows how Kazuichi and Teruteru can be
- one time Kazuichi and Teruteru were being well...themselves and you just happened to passed by. Kazuichi and Teruteru decided to take advantage of your innocence.
- “hey (y/n), i want my head between your thighs.” “won’t that be...uncomfortable?”
- Nagito then steps in, “Hey, you’re clearing bothering (y/n), please cut it out.”
- due to his bad luck, he has lead himself into some awkward situations
- one time he was walking around trying to find you. he finally spots you hanging with Fuyuhiko and starts heading over; only for him to trip over his feet and crash on top of you
- you didn’t understand why this situation was sexual and Fuyuhiko was going on about how this isn’t appropriate behavior. Nagito softly smiles, shaking his head
- “guess my luck isn’t so bad after all.”
- when you asked for the sex talk, he was caught off guard. he tried to calmly explain to you the basics, but he couldn’t fight back the blush rising onto his cheeks
- when you asked to demonstrate it he almost said yes, but then he didn’t want to take away his little hope angels innocence away just yet
- but you insisted, and he finally gave in. he’s gentle the whole time, praising you over and over again
- you’re still his innocent hope angel, no matter how many nights he dominates you
miu iruma
- OH MY GOD
- PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF
- all of your classmates pray for you. because your innocent ass is dating Miu
- who will say a sex joke in every sentence she says
- it was a nightmare when the two of you first met.
- “dammit i’m in heat right now. im gonna go fuckin’ crazy!” “in...heat?’
- she thinks you’re kidding at first with the whole innocent act. but when she finds out that you’re actually as innocent as you seem. she couldn’t believe her ears
- “are ya fuckin’ dumb or something?”
- at first your classmates tried to protect you so that Miu didn’t taint your innocence, but you declined. you were very interested in Miu even though you didn’t know what she meant half of the time
- the swearing is...a lot for you to handle. it’s no secret that Miu swears in every sentence she says. she tries to tone it down a bit when the two of you start going out. no promises though
- Miu kind of likes to mess with you since your knowledge of dirty jokes is so low. she’ll constantly flirt with you sexually and it can even disgust your classmates. you just awkwardly tilt your head in confusion as dirty jokes just keep flying out of her mouth
- you get used to it, she gets used to it. usually Kaito or a flustered Shuichi has to translate Mius words for you
- when you asked Miu for the sex talk Kirumi was about to take you and hide you away from her. but you told Kirumi that you only wanted to hear it from Miu since her sex knowledge is so high
- she tells you everything you need to know, how to pleasure someone, kinks, fetishes, g-spots. it overwhelmed you but you sort of got the hang of it
- when you asked Miu to show you, she immediately starts to take off her clothes
- she kept your innocents in mind and tried to be as vanilla as possible
- but then you grabbed the 8 inch strap on and asked Miu if you can use it on her. she beamed with pride
- “HA! i knew it. it’s always the innocent looking ones who are fucking freaky as shit!”
this was kinda fun lol
hey venus! i hope you've been doing okay these days, and if not, i do hope things get better for you soon. make sure to hydrate and eat something if you haven't already!
VEE. VEE. I'M GONNA LOSE IT. I'M GONNA YELL. I'M GONNA BREAK A TABLE IN HALF AND THEN TAPE IT BACK TOGETHER AND APOLOGIZE TO IT. OH MY GOD. oh my god. okay.
so first of all, THE KIIRUMA....they're so sweet, and i love how miu softens around kiibo and kiibo trusts miu enough to ask her for help in explaining human stuff, and THE WAY KIIBO LIT UP WHEN READER TOLD HIM THEY COULD VISIT THEIR LAB ANYTIME.....they are Best Friends and they are so important to me,, oh my god. I am reminded of the moment in chapter 3 where reader said they like kiibo the way he is AND I JUST....AAAAAA they're so good,, AND SHUICHI OH MY GOD. the way he admires the dedication that reader has to their work and not enjoying his job as a detective. honestly i think the way he talked about it makes sense given like, i wasn't sure if he actually liked being a detective in canon or if he resents the true nature of his job. admiring it initially as a kid and then growing up to realize that it's not all it's cracked up to be,,,i can relate, oof.
speaking of dedication! Holy Shit Kokichi. oh my god. the fact that he feels so comfortable in reader's presence to theorize about the world itself and talk about the flashback lights, it's so Excellent. and when he got Jealous of reader and shuichi, oh my god you are so GAY, DUDE. AND WHEN HE TOLD THEM TO SHOW WHAT....OOOOOOOOH. ( and i caught him looking at their iron grip and them touching his hair. you're not slick, sir. ) AND THEN READER JUST REFUSING TO HURT HIM, AND JUST WANTING TO HELP, LIKE THE CONCUSSION SCENE.......AND THE OMINOUS LINE AT THE END. I DON'T LIKE THAT I HAVE A FEELING OF WHAT'S COMING. OH NO
so anyways sleep awake is absolutely Amazing, venus. holy shit. the amount of time, effort, and love put into this fanfic is remarkable, and you do the characters so much justice. reading your writing and even your posts on here has just been such a lovely experience. you've created something wonderful, and i'm so glad i was able to meet you through this.
take care of yourself, my friend. <3
-☀️ sunshine
REI HI HELL IVE MISSED U!!!! ARE U DOING OKAY?
AHHH i’m so glad u liked the update!! i always think my fic must fucking suck for people who don’t like the same ships as me bc if there’s one thing abt me it’s that i will put my little ships in there. a little tenmiko there, a lil kiiruma here. ALSO any scene w kiibo and the reader makes me so giddy i LOVEEEE him so much and i would like to hold him very tightly and perhaps shake him like a snow globe.
the kokichi scene took hours to write and i was almost in tears by the of it bc i was like. no this is straight up just 3k words of dialogue. i cant publish this. it’s unpublishable. then i had a breakdown and published it anyway SO i’m rlly happy you liked it NAHSJSN i was second guessing that shit so hard. kokichi is TRULY a homosexual little gremlin in that scene. and when isn’t he. not his fault the reader is so cool and sexy and hot and funny and clever.
sunshine i could cry. thank u so much sobs violently. i’m so glad i got to meet u too. i swear receiving any message or notif from u makes my whole day!!! and i’m just. very glad u enjoy my silly little blog and my silly little fic <333
Movie/Game/Show: Danganronpa: Killing Harmony Dynamic: Korekiyo Shinguji/Reader (and his sister shit but i actually take it seriously, unlike kodaka) Warnings: korekiyo’s backstory/trauma (his sister), sexual/physical/mental abuse implications (and outright said but not described in detail except the emotional and mental), anxiety in both kork and reader and mental breakdown(s?), airhead shit but it’s sad Summary: It’s all her fault. ~~~
Korekiyo suddenly turned to the girl beside him in his quiet research lab, “Have you ever heard of Jack of Fables, (Y/n)?” at her, albeit confused, nod, he continued, “Well, all those myths, fairy tales, and even nursery rhymes in reference to ‘Jack’ are actually about the same man. What this means is that Jack Be Nimble, of the candlestick, Jack the Giant Killer, who sold his cows then murdered and robbed a giant, Stingy Jack, who tricked the devil so relentlessly that he was banned from both afterlives, Jack of Jack and Jill, who cracked open his skull, Jack o’ Lantern, Spirit of Halloween and Headless Horseman, and Jack Frost, Spirit who ends autumn and begins winter are all one in the same. He made so many poor life decisions that he now serves as an immortal representation of winer with a pumpkin serving as head and flashlight. Is that not fascinating?”
“Aw,” (Y/n) grinned, nodding once again, “Like the American ‘Florida man’.”
Korekiyo sighed, disappointment palpable in his tone, “That is… actually much more accurate than I wish to admit.”
“Wait, wait,” she tilted her head, patting the man’s arm despite his attention already being on her, “So… like, was he also Jack the Ripper…?”
His eyes widened at her statement, “(Y/n), I must be grateful you were not born to the life of a woman of the night in Victorian London because I assure you, Jack the Ripper was incredibly real.”
“Oh, that’s so sad…” she pouted before clearing it back into her usual smile almost instantly, “Well, thanks for the folklore fun fact, Kiyo! I didn’t know that Jack was so dumb! God, I’d hate to be like him…”
“You do realize you’re not so bright yourself, yes?”
She shrugged, “I’m fine with that, but at least I’m not tricking the devil!”
So sweet and kind, the Ultimate Composer was. Against all expectations, she wasn’t highbrow or traditionally genius, but she was more than excellent company. And, to top it off, the idea of turning her into one of Sister’s friends was oddly… sickening.
It should’ve been perfectly fine - she was a deeply respectable young woman unlike Miu and Maki, there’s no reason he could have against her.
It just felt wrong.
“Oh! Oh!” she burst out, clapping her hands together, before turning and reaching into a bag slung around her hip. Rooting through scrapped sheet music and notes, once she found what she’d been searching for she held it up excitedly, “Boom!”
Korekiyo took the item, just barely brushing his wrapped fingertips against hers, “Cleopatra’s Pearl Cocktail… much appreciated,” he pressed the small bottle into a pocket on his uniform, “If you enjoy giving gifts, perhaps we can discuss cultural gift-giving practices?”
“Ooh, Kiyo’s gonna teach me?”
“Hmm,” Korekiyo hummed quietly to himself, “Well, perhaps… you would prefer I tell you of a composition piece in relevance to mythology, yes?”
“That’d be nice,” the girl giggled softly, rubbing the back of her neck, “To be honest, I just like when you talk… you sound so smart all the time!”
“My thanks, (Y/n),” he nodded curtly, muttering to himself before coming to speak up, “Alright, I believe that the composition for you would be The Ring of the Nibelung, of Germany.”
“Oh, I know that one!” she knew most ‘ones’, to be fair.
“I had suspected so, but have you heard of the heroic legends behind the pieces?”
“Ah, no… are those what you’re gonna explain?”
“I had planned to, yes. Alright, well, the four parts, as you know, are The Rhinegold, The Valkyrie, Siegfried, and Twilight of the Gods. Nowadays, they are most commonly played as individual, separate works despite making one complete story. They were always intended as a sequence - as The Ring cycle, cleverly. Each piece revolves on a loose basis to German heroic tales and Norse legendary sagas, with the overarching tale of the magic ring forged by the Nibelung dwarf, Alberich, which grants the power to rule the world,” he paused at the sight of (Y/n) yawning, his lips pursed and eyes shot down to his shoes before flickering back up to the girl, “Ah, my apologies for taking far longer than necessary. You must find this- “
“Ah, no!” (Y/n) shook her head, waving her hands about as though it would physically prove how far from needed his apology was, “That’s not it! I’m just kinda tired, ya know?” as if to prove her point, another yawn washed over her, “I hadn’t slept well last night after Kirumi…”
“I see,” Korekiyo nodded, closing his eyes to think over his words, “I apologize for making it about myself. If you wish, I could walk you to your dormitory. Now that you mention it, it has been quite the long day.”
“You don’t have to, Kiyo, I’d hate to bother you so much in one day let alone one sitting,” the composer puffed her cheeks out, “That’d be so obnoxious…”
“I don’t find it obnoxious whatsoever, especially if it’s to aid- “ he hesitated, “to aid a friend.”
He hadn’t had friends before. People usually found him creepy and that was the end of the story - nobody approached him and he didn’t branch out. Life went on. The world spun. His loneliness was everlasting and yet nonexistent. He has Sister. Though, deep down, he knows. She’s on another plane of reality with loneliness stronger than his, that’s why he sends her respectable young women.
Just like (Y/n).
But just… not (Y/n). For reasons he personally chooses to not disclose to even himself.
“Aww, Kiyo! You care!” the girl placed a hand over her heart as if to show that the organ itself was squeezing in delight at his offer.
“Of course, I do,” Korekiyo didn’t like how quiet she made him. How jittery and nervous. And he didn’t like how it made him question the way Sister made him feel.
She also made him nervous but it felt different. He liked to pretend it was the nervousness of a love you don’t quite have yet, but he fully knows he’d be lying. She was a mean girl, a bully in school before being hospitalized. Prone to violent and outright frightening outbursts when she had the energy to do more than force him to her side.
But he didn’t like questioning those feelings for Sister. Who he was, was based on her. His uniform. His passion and talent. His hair. His perfect complexion. His life as the universe knows it is an ode to her.
It’s too late for him to go back now… he’s already done so much in her name it’d be cruel to give up now. He might as well continue for Sister.
“If you really don’t mind, then yeah, I’d like it if we could walk together… I get a little nervous going around at night, you never know who’s gonna snap…”
“And you trust me?”
Shit. That’s what gets him in trouble. It’s as Sister always said. ‘Too naive to make his choices, and once he’s free, too inept to make the right ones.’
“Well, yeah,” (Y/n) spoke as if there was hardly any thought to the answer, “All you’ve shown me is somebody worth trusting,” then, she’s quick to remember poor Kaede, “Well, maybe I’m being silly. But hey, if I have to choose between dying trusting my friends and paranoid beyond myself, then maybe I’d- “ she paused, “Ehhh, I don’t like the way that’s coming out.”
“I understand what you’re attempting to say,” Korekiyo reassured, turning towards his research lab’s exit, “Let us start towards the dormitories, yes?”
“Right!” (Y/n) nearly found herself jogging to catch up to Korekiyo’s long-strided head start, she clutched the strap of her bag as she did so, “So… you heard about Angie’s plan, right?”
“To perform a resurrection?”
“Do you think it’ll work?” she seemed antsier than was typical for her, “I mean, you’re into anthropology, so, like, has there ever been a case where that did work? Do you know?”
“No, besides, that would be more akin to history, remember?” she probably didn’t, her memory failed her at an ungodly amalgamation of best and worst of times.
“Oh, yeah,” she murmured and nodded, pretending to recall the difference between the two.
“Who would you desire back into this game, if you could?”
“Rantaro,” her answer was quick, her fingers looping together nervously, “We didn’t really talk much, but uhm, whenever we did - he was really nice. He said I reminded him of a sister of his… so that’s a good thing, right?”
Depends on who you ask, really.
“You grew attached to him so quickly?” there was no jealousy there, he tried to convince himself.
“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wish I’d gotten to know him more. He was always running around, trying to save us, and in the end… it got him killed.”
A lot of things will get you killed.
Korekiyo shook off the thoughts racking his brain, “Your care for him even through his estrangedness and peculiarity is truly beautiful, (Y/n),” he fiddled with the locket piece hanging around his shoulders, “Even your care for myself. I’d be lying if I’d said it wasn’t endearing.”
“You’re not…” her words died out, not wanting to lie to a dear companion of hers, “You’re a little off-putting but you’re not undeserving of love, Kiyo.”
It was a complete 180 from what Sister had told him his entire life. A new lesson coming in far too late. He had to earn love. He should’ve been crawling on his knees and pleading for affection, but now he was supposed to simply receive it? It sounded so incredibly fake. A fictitious tale told alongside gumdrop fairies and candy trees.
No place for someone of realistic standard.
No place for him.
“You’re far too kind, (Y/n).”
“Maybe you just haven’t known nice people,” she suddenly stopped, slapping a palm to her mouth and muffling against it, “I’m so sorry!”
“Worry not,” Korekiyo continued walking, “I’m unphased.”
Because maybe it was true.
Maybe Sister wasn’t so nice.
There was an itch at his skin in the thought and he shook his head.
Sister was kind enough to love someone like him. Who was of rotted soul and rancid heart.
“I shouldn’t have just said that, especially since I don’t really know your life…”
“Would you like to learn it someday?”
(Y/n) was fairly shocked at how quickly he seemed to breeze by her insult to his family and friends - well, if he had any friends - but she wouldn’t refuse. It was extra time with Korekiyo! Who could turn that down?
“I’d love to.”
~~
“Tea and cookies,” (Y/n) pumped a fist in the air, “What could be better than enjoying those with a friend?”
Korekiyo felt his lips twitch up behind his mask at the rhetorical question, he reached out for his teacup, “Perhaps freedom from this killing game?”
“Oh, yeah, huh…” she deflated, “Jeez, I can’t believe I’d say that…”
Oh, great, of course, now he’s gone and made the local ball of sunshine in this school upset.
“Nevermind that, (Y/n), it was a tease…” he gripped the cup a little tighter, cheeks heating up in humiliation at his failed joke, “I apologize if it seemed like anything other than such.”
“No, don’t apologize, it’s fine! It was kind of a dumb thing to say, now that I put some brain into it,” so it made sense she’d said it, (Y/n) frowned at the bitter thought.
“Ah,” the clink of a cup against the table caught the girl’s attention, “I must change my mask in order to properly enjoy this tea and these cookies,” as the anthropologist went to turn, he was stopped by another outburst from the girl.
“No, don’t! Uh, here!” she clenched her eyes shut, papped her palms over her face, and turned her head downwards, “See? Now I can’t!”
“You don’t have to go to such lengths, I could simply turn- “
“No, no, I want you to feel comfortable and I heard once that doing things to make your friends comfortable is, like, a way to make them like you more?” she huffed at the wording, “Just, I don’t know… I want you to know that I care. Ya get it? No need to turn yourself away like that when I can just not look.”
A tuft of air passed through his nostrils at the girl.
Sister would adore a friend like her.
Korekiyo pulled down his mask, brows drawn tight towards his eyes at the new realization. It was no longer a matter of her being respectable, it was now the knowledge that someone as tender-hearted as (Y/n) would be loved beyond comprehension by Sister.
But… no. Sister couldn’t have her. She’d understand, right? Of course. She could have someone else - the other bubbly girl, what’s her name? Angie. She could have Angie.
Korekiyo just… he just needed (Y/n). Something about her was calming and sweet. He picked his mask for eating from a pocket in his uniform and carefully adjusted it over his lips so as to not smudge his lipstick. It wouldn’t anyway, he knew this, but it usually never backfired to be too sure.
The lipstick in itself was quite the hassle. Another homage to Sister that she might not even be seeing. So was the hair. It got tangled and knotted and was hell to dry after a shower.
“Not to rush you at all, but are you done? Cuz my eyes are starting to hurt… I think I’m squeezing them too hard.”
“Right, yes, I am.”
He really shouldn’t think like that… Sister deserved to be honored.
As if she’d been reading his mind, (Y/n) leaned over slightly, pointing at Korekiyo’s hair, “Hey, hey, how do you manage that? It always looks so silky and soft and well-kept.”
“Ah, well, it is quite troublesome most days, but with patience and rather expensive products, I keep it together.”
“I was wondering, too, do you ever put it up?”
“Not usually, though, that would be… nice on occasion,” he sipped at his tea, enjoying the way (Y/n) shyly glanced away to prove she didn’t want to invade his privacy. She was too delightful to be in a place such as this, even if he did enjoy the beauties of law-absence.
“Uh, I don’t want to come off pushy or like you have to let me, but if you want, I’d love to put your hair up! To be honest, I’ve been wanting to for a while,” her eyes widened at her own statement, “Oh, that sounded creepy. I’m so sorry.”
“I am hardly one to judge,” he reached over for a cookie, “But, if you’re so inclined, I won’t protest.”
“Yay!” she bounced slightly in her chair, “Oh, that’s great, Kiyo, thanks.”
“Shall we go to your dorm after finishing our refreshments?”
“I’d like that,” (Y/n) grinned.
And to think she almost didn’t approach Korekiyo on that first day in the school. How ridiculous could she have been to judge based on looks? Sure, he was a little strange and the way he spoke was unlike any teenager she’d ever met, but he was still a person. He deserved to be given companionship.
Besides, he’d only ever shown her kindness and support.
He didn’t even make fun of her when she said something stupid in front of everyone.
She cringed at the memory of every time Kokichi or Miu or Maki prodded at her. Even Ryoma and Kaito had picked on her when she misspoke during the first trial and just brought up a point the class had already proven. It made her heart wrinkle and shrink at the mere thought. Kokichi still made fun of her for questioning Tsumugi’s whereabouts during Rantaro’s murder.
“You’re staring into your tea, it will grow cold if you only look at it.”
“Oh, yeah,” shaking her head, (Y/n) silently cursed herself for spacing out. What an awful habit of hers, it was, “Sorry for taking so long.”
“You shouldn’t apologize, I’m not upset in the slightest,” he felt his heart lighten at the tiny smile that illuminated her face, “I simply enjoy spending this time together.”
“You’re too nice sometimes, Kiyo,” she giggled, but they both recognized the tingle of nervousness jumbling within it, “If you’re not careful, I might fall for you or something…”
“Maybe that wouldn’t be such a bad thing?”
I wouldn’t mind, she wanted to say.
If you’ll have me, he wished to murmur.
Then he felt his chest tighten.
“Can I…” he tapped a finger to the table, “ask you a question?”
“Of course.”
“Have you ever been in love?”
“Uhm,” she bit her lip as she thought back, “No… why?”
“How do you think it feels?”
“Like, you could be free and yourself around the person? I’m not too sure, but I think if you and someone else are in love then you’ll accept each other completely, you know? Sure, there’s flaws in every person, but I think you accept those, too.”
“I see…”
“Kiyo, why do you ask?”
“I…” his brows furrowed, “A lot has been on my mind as of late.”
“Alright, I won’t pry,” standing from the dining table, (Y/n) clapped her hands together, “Now, if you’re still down, I’d love to put your hair up!”
“As it stands, I am still, as you put it, ‘down’,” Korekiyo nodded before joining the girl and starting towards her dorm room.
“Nice!” she pointed directly ahead, “Now, onward!”
A total airhead at her truest, Korekiyo thought. He didn’t usually partake in the type, but something about (Y/n) just pulled him in tighter every time he tried turning away.
So, what’s the harm in giving in? Swimming against the tide only ever led to drowning anyway, so why fight it?
Sister… Sister was dead. Is dead. Resurrection isn’t possible and hasn’t been in human history. And she had changed so much of him. (Y/n) would never force him to bend to her ideal.
The more he thought about Sister in comparison to (Y/n), the more he realized that Sister felt like a ball and chain - and (Y/n) felt like a breath of fresh air.
Just her name inside his own head sounded as sweet as the best form of heaven.
“Here we are!” (Y/n) cheered upon their arrival to her room, “There’s probably a bunch-load of unfinished works in here so just… don’t judge them too harshly, okay?”
“I could hardly judge an unfinished masterpiece.”
“I don’t know about masterpieces…”
“If you create them with heart and soul, there’s nobody who can effectively say they aren’t except for yourself,” Korekiyo enters the room after her, legs carrying him towards her desk as she roots around her bathroom for a hairbrush and hair tie, “Sadly, this is also applicable to disasters with effort put into them. However, just from skimming these, I can tell you they are not such disasters.”
“Aw, thanks, Kiyo, you know - I know I’m the Ultimate Composer and junk, but jeez it gets so nerve-wracking when people hear my stuff. I like what I write, but who’s to say other people will?”
“I understand that. Showing others your work is extremely unsettling at times,” he followed the girl to her bed and sat between her knees on the floor, “I recall feeling that way when I would dabble in artistry.”
“You can draw?”
“I would when I was much younger,” he felt her fingers run over his scalp and through his hair and the weight looming over his shoulders practically melted off, “I haven’t held onto any of them, and they’ve likely aged poorly, but I know how I felt showing them around.”
“Why’d you stop? If you don’t mind my asking,” reaching around, (Y/n) threaded her fingers through Korekiyo’s bangs and, as gently as humanly possible, pulled the hair hanging over and around his face back into a slicked style.
“My… sister, she always rathered that I participate in anthropology with her. I wasn’t all that good anyways.”
“Aw, that’s kinda sad. Even if you weren’t good, you could’ve improved over time.”
“Do you truly believe that, (Y/n)?”
“Of course, I mean, talents are just developed over time, right? Angie didn’t pop out of the womb an art genius and I didn’t start off great at writing music, you just keep at it and eventually your skill level is way better than when you started.”
Sister always said he’d be garbage at drawing. Somebody like him could never learn.
She tied off and twisted until the bun was perfect - well, not perfect. It was presentable enough, and it was just a bun anyway! Not like they had anywhere to be.
“Sorry it’s messy,” she scratched at her cheek, feeling anxious that he’d be upset with her work.
“I…” he felt another little smile peek over him, it was indeed messy with stray hairs sticking out here and there and a few tiny bumps running over his head, but even so, “I love it.”
“You do?”
“It’s a gesture from you, why wouldn’t I?”
Standing beside Korekiyo at the mirror, (Y/n) twiddled her thumbs before spewing out her question, “It’s totally cool if not, but can I hug you? Sorry if that’s weird!”
“No… it’s…” Sister never asked to touch him, and now that he thought about it, she never seemed to care when he told her to stop, “That would be wonderful.”
As her arms slowly came around him, he felt truly at ease. With Sister, there was always this fear of never being what she wanted. That she hated him deep down. With (Y/n), it felt like finally being attached to someone you were meant to. Returning to a place of deep affection.
“You truly do care about me, don’t you, (Y/n)?”
“What kind of question is that?” she back-pedals, “I mean, of course, I do. You’re very dear to me, Kiyo.”
Maybe even a little too dear, considering the current climate of the killing game.
But even so, neither of them pulls away. Neither cares enough to wrangle themselves from indulging in the other’s touch. It feels too good against their skin.
It’s then that Korekiyo’s brain strikes the flint to create the burning thought - maybe Sister wasn’t all that great. Maybe Sister didn’t love him.
She’s only ever made him miserable, now that he recalls it all.
(Y/n) doesn’t. She makes him feel human and alive and adored. He likes the way she makes him feel. And between the two, he much rather would be praised than berated.
~~
Oh God, what did this mean again?
Where do the creation myths go?
Who’s Princess Kaguya?
Her head throbs at the thoughts rumbling through her. She tried to get Korekiyo to get someone, anyone, but her to organize his notes.
Shuichi would love this stuff! You two should bond!
Gonta could learn about being gentlemanly from you! It’d be a great learning experience!
I know you don’t like Miu that much, but maybe spending more time together could make you understand each other more?
Anyone.
And yet, Korekiyo denied. He liked spending time with her. He wouldn’t mind answering every question she had - no matter how many times she asked it. He was a patient person, he could handle it.
(Y/n) looked at all the books and stray papers surrounding her alike, bottom lip tugged between her teeth in focus and face beating hot in vivid embarrassment. He wasn’t even looking at her, thank God, but still… it was so mortifying that she’d already lost track of what she was doing.
She tried so hard to pay attention, she really, really did!
She wanted to help so bad. She wanted to be useful so bad.
But she knew… she’s not a smart person, per se. It was beaten over her head repeatedly her entire life by her family, schooling, peers, and even her friends. She was an idiot who couldn’t do anything right.
It’s why she wanted Korekiyo to ask someone else.
But how could she say no to him? He was always so nice, it’d be downright mean to refuse him. Right?
She felt her eyes burn, vision growing blurry through tears. Setting down the papers in her hands - (Y/n) covered her eyes to keep any wetness from splotching the notes below. It was the least a fucking moron could do.
“(Y/n)? Are you feeling okay?”
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck
She nodded shakily, just wanting Korekiyo to ignore her and continue his work. Better yet, he’d kick her out and she could dodge the incoming humiliation altogether.
“Yeah,” her voice cracked, lips trembling.
Goddammit.
She heard papers rustling before she could feel the presence at her side. Fingertips just barely grazing her body before hesitating back, “You’re lying.”
Understatement of the year.
“I just… I’m so sorry, Kiyo. I’m such an idiot, I knew I couldn’t do this,” she whimpered, desperately trying to grab and suffocate down her bubbling sobs before they wracked her throat, “I’m too fucking dumb to do anything right… I’m sorry…”
“No, no, don’t apologize. You’ve done nothing wrong and you’re no idiot,” he’s immediately slammed with every memory of every time he’s called her such a thing. No matter how nice he tried to be about it, he still aided her insecurity, “I’m sorry for ever saying you were. Intellect is not measured by how well you can do a task nor should everyone’s mind be measured the same. Intelligence is fickle and is spread over a vast variety of subjects. You’re not an idiot for not being able to do something you’re not accustomed to.”
“I just… I- I wanted to help you but then I forgot everything you said about organizing them and then which regions are which and what even is a gorgon?”
He chuckled quietly at her question, “A creature in Greek mythology most commonly in reference to three sisters - Medusa, Euryale, and Sthenno - with hair made of living, venomous snakes that turned those who so much as looked upon them to stone,” he glanced around at what (Y/n) had gotten done, “I see that the filing in relation to music is nearly completed for your half.”
“That’s about all I’m good for.”
“And I would not have managed that so easily, music was never an incredible strength of mine - though I do admire it.”
“Don’t lie to me, Kiyo…”
“I would never,” he moved his notes away to sit more comfortably next to the girl, “In fact, if you’d be willing to listen…” his throat tightened and heart thumped in his chest, “I would like to tell you of something that’s been troubling me for quite some time.”
“Yeah,” she wiped away her tears, sniffling, “of course.”
“I told you of my sister, correct?” he waited for her nod of confirmation to continue, “Well, it’s my belief that…” his fists clenched.
What if she didn’t believe him? What if she blamed him? How do you tell someone your older sister raped and abused you when you’re barely even coming to terms with the fact yourself?
“(Y/n), I…” he stopped, gut bunching in knots before he suddenly ripped down his mask and turned to face her, “I think I need help…”
“What? You’re just wearing lipstick, Kiyo, there’s nothing wrong with that.”
“No, no, no, no,” he shook his head, hands shaking wildly as he pulled out the ponytail (Y/n) had done up earlier and yanked through his hair, “E-everything I am is because of her! She consumes me even in death! She- she- she hurt me…”
“Oh,” the girl moved to sit up on her knees, hands reaching out but not yet touching him, “What happened, Kiyo? You can tell me, I’m listening.”
“She told me I was an awful boy, nobody but her could love someone so foul and creepy… she- “ he moved to grip his sleeves, “She touched me,” he looked into the girl’s eyes, “Is it my fault? Am I so disgusting? Why would she do this?”
“Do you want me to hold you or no?” at his shaky nod, she instantly took Korekiyo into a hug, cradling his head and shoulders to her body and stroking through his hair, “You’re more than what she made you. You’re bigger and better than her manipulation. And it’s not your fault she did what she did. It’s completely and totally on her. She took advantage of you, Kiyo, that’s not your fault.”
He grabbed her arm and pressed his face into her shirt as she held him, “Am I rotten? Am I lovable?”
“You’re the best person I’ve ever met. You’re worthy of love and care.”
His lipstick smeared over her shirt and across his cheek and neither of them minded. It would wash off eventually. Her stain on his life would come out.
“When we get out,” (Y/n) began again, “do you want to seek professional help? You can get it, Kiyo.”
He was slow to nod, beginning to grow tired from dosing out tears and trauma at once, “I do… thank you, (Y/n)...”
“No need to thank me.”
“(Y/n)?” she hummed quietly in acknowledgement, “Even if it isn’t for field work… I wish to travel the country with you. I want to show you the beauty of humanity as I know it… for our sakes.”
Looking down, (Y/n) caught the gentleness in his eyes, tender and soft and awaiting her response, she smiled softly, brushing back his hair, “I would love to, Kiyo. If it’s truly something you want to do, I would be happy to go anywhere with you.”
~~
Nighttime was quickly approaching and with the atmosphere and turmoil of the class, (Y/n) didn’t feel very safe being out so late.
“You’re certain you don’t wish for me to walk you to your room?”
“No, you finish up here,” (Y/n) waved off Korekiyo’s offer, “Don’t be such a worry-wart, yeah? I’ll be fine! You better take care of yourself while I’m gone, though.”
He nodded, a small smile stretching over him, “I will, dear (Y/n), don’t worry.”
The girl’s eyes widened slightly before she returned his beam, “You have a cute smile, Kiyo.”
“Oh,” right, he didn’t have his mask on at the moment. It was refreshing to wake up and not trouble himself with makeup for a woman he wasn’t sure even cared - dare he say it, it was nice, even.
He’d only taken his mask off around (Y/n), it felt intimate. Sweet. Something passed only between them.
“Thank you.”
She nodded before turning back and pressing outward from his research lab, “I’ll see ya tomorrow, Kiyo! You better have the sweetest dreams, ya hear me?”
“You as well.”
He returned to cleaning up his lab, occasionally stumbling over a floorboard looser than the others. How troublesome.
That’s when her voice picked up from within his brain.
“You never loved me.”
He looked around despite knowing exactly where the voice was coming from.
“You let her do this to you. You let her take you from me.”
Pushing past them, he persisted in rooting through his notes and organizing his papers.
“She hates you. She’s scared of you. She’s just trying to be nice. You scare her. You scare all of them. You rotten, rotten boy. You’ve been ruined - only I could love a face so hideous and broken. A horrible, horrible boy lucky enough to be given the love I did.”
His hands shook, fingers twitching and heart thrumming heavy, “No. (Y/n) likes me. She enjoys my company.”
“Why would she enjoy the company of someone so lonely and depressing? So gross and foul? She probably hates you for partaking in your own sister’s touch.”
“No, she- she doesn’t… she knows it’s not… it’s not my fault…”
“Are you inside her head? How do you know? How are you certain? I’m the only one who ever loved you - and you’ve abandoned me. Left me all alone.”
“No, I- I haven’t abandoned you, Sister! Please, believe me, I never abandoned you.”
“So, you know what you must do to prove yourself to me.”
“(Y/n) wouldn’t like that…”
“(Y/n) wouldn’t like you anyway.”
She’s right, right? She’s right. Someone as wonderful and beautiful as (Y/n) could never adore him the way he does her. He loves her and she must find him repulsive. Staying out of fear.
Out of pity for the boy abused by his sister. And so, who better to return to than the more predictable of the two?
(Y/n) may have felt more like coming home than Sister - but Sister was home. (Y/n) was comfort. Sister was familiarity.
He found his foot planted against the loose floorboard once again. He knew how he had to make up for his misdeeds and abandonment.
~~
“I’m truly relieved to see that you got to your room safely,” Korekiyo murmured to (Y/n).
“Huh? Oh yeah,” she pointed over to their local gentle giant, “Gonta and I crossed paths on my way and he wanted to walk me to my room and I just couldn’t say no to him. It’s nice to have someone you trust in this ‘game’. Well, other than you,” the elevator jumbled slightly as it dove down into Monokuma’s makeshift courtroom, “I trust you, obviously.”
She shouldn’t. And he wants to tell her that.
But as Kokichi and Shuichi take glances at him from across the elevator, he knows that she’ll figure things out soon enough.
And, during the trial, when Shuichi’s convicting Korekiyo of the murder of Angie Yonaga and Tenko Chabashira - she does. And she cries and screams and throws a fit. Demanding Korekiyo to fight back harder. Demanding Shuichi to stop lying and get serious. Because Korekiyo would never kill somebody.
He was nice. He was a gentleman. He cared about people. He had stolen her heart - and a man who managed that wouldn’t kill anybody. So, of course, Shuichi was lying.
“Do I have to remind you of what’ll happen if you don’t vote?” Monokuma bit out.
(Y/n) clutched at her hair - she knew what she had to do. But every time she went to vote for Korekiyo, her body wouldn’t let her.
Reaching over, the boy himself took her hand in his, “Allow me,” as he guided her hand over her voting panel. No matter how she swatted at his hand or tried to wrench herself from Korekiyo’s grip, he pressed her vote into his name.
She was forced to watch as he was strung up and spun. Made dizzy and sickly. She was made to watch as he fell into the melting pot. Fires eating at his body until he was no more than spirit.
As Monokuma and the sister who had harmed him so horrifically worked as one to rid the world of his soul.
Eyes went to (Y/n) as the execution subsided. Her sobs and hiccups drawing everyone’s attention.
Gonta was the first to approach, a large hand settling on the girl’s back as she cried, silently taking her into a hug.
Her heart wrenched, fingers squeezing at Gonta’s suit and throat rubbing raw with her wild wails.
He could’ve gotten help. He could’ve gotten out with everyone. If she’d just stayed with him then she could’ve done something. Angie and Tenko would be here. Korekiyo would be here.
“Alright, that’s enough,” Kaito’s voice peeked through, “Don’t cry because he’s gone, (Y/n). Move forward - for both of you.”
“I…” she shook her head, choking on a sob, “I don’t think I can…”
Shuichi placed a hand on Kaito’s shoulder, “Just give her a little time.”
As the group moved out of the courtroom, Gonta stayed by (Y/n)’s side up until she clumsily made her way into her dorm room.
Immediately, she collapsed into her bed sheets. Dreading tomorrow. And the next day. And the one after that. And the one after that. And so on. And so forth. Maybe she should’ve known better than to go around falling for a guy in the killing game. Maybe she should’ve held herself up in her room all alone.
There was no escape from this feeling. No hiding. It may get better over time - but Korekiyo would always be gone.
A buzz at the door caught her attention. Her movements were sluggish, honestly just hoping that whoever was there had given up and left by the time she finally answered.
Shuichi stood there, classically uneven, anxious smile and all, “I think there’s something you might be interested in? If you’ll follow me.”
No verbal response was given, only (Y/n) stepping out of her room and shutting the door behind her to give him her confirmation.
He began towards the casino. With a sigh, (Y/n) was about to tell Shuichi off - she didn’t need to start gambling to get over Korekiyo’s death - until he stopped in front of the building.
“I mostly just wanted you to get some fresh air,” he says earnestly before digging in his pocket and pulling out a key with a heart-shaped handle, “I got this from here. You can get your own or keep this one, I think you need it more than I do,” at her confusion he continues to explain, “It can take you into this weird dream-like state where you can see what ‘ideal’ you play in our classmates’ minds… I think you know who I gave this to you for.”
“Kiyo…”
“Yeah. You can see him again, if you want.”
She wanted to be strong and push the key back into Shuichi’s hand - instead, she just looked between him and the key in her hold and nodded slowly, “Thank you, Shuichi…”
He placed a hand on her shoulder, “Sleep well, (Y/n). I know you can grow past this.”
Because he did.
“I’ll try.”
But he wasn’t her. And Kaede was gone far before Korekiyo. And their grief was not the same.
“Thanks again, Shuichi.”
“Just take your time, okay?”
“Yeah, okay.”
~~
Her knees felt like collapsing under the weight of her nerves, hand falling to the doorknob of the hotel room.
She pushed through her anxiety and found herself in a red-tinted room, a large heart-shaped bed in the center with a merry-go-round circling it. Then, she found Korekiyo standing to the side.
What would his ‘ideal’ version of her be? A friend? An out-of-touch acquaintance? A lover?
Her heart throbbed at the last possibility.
“Ah, my dear, back so soon?”
“Oh, yeah, sorry…”
“Why are you apologizing?”
“I’m, uhm, not sure?”
I’m sorry I couldn’t help you.
“Then don’t,” he seemed to glide across the room, taking the girl’s cheeks in his hands, “You’ve always had a problem with that, my love.”
My love? My love.
“Ah, yeah, sorry,” she huffed at her own word selection, “Oh…”
Korekiyo chuckled quietly, pulling down his mask to kiss her forehead, “I already took my medication while you were out.”
“Your medication?”
“Yes, from the doctor. You were the one who pushed me to go, have you forgotten?”
“Right! No, no, I just blanked,” she quickly lied, giving the boy a broad grin, “I’m glad, though.”
“It’s only medication, dear.”
“Still,” (Y/n) reached up to cup Korekiyo’s cheek, “it’s good that you’re following through with your meds.”
“Your support always helps,” he pressed another kiss to the girl’s forehead, “We’ll be leaving early in the morning tomorrow, I should warn you,” at her furrowed brows he explained, “In order for us to catch the first train to Iwate prefecture. Did you forget, darling?”
“Wait, wait, let me guess…” she waited for his nod before tossing out her suggestion, “We’re traveling for field work!” she was then quick to tag on, “As a couple that’s, like, super in love?”
“You didn’t forget at all, my love,” Korekiyo pulled away slightly, and sat on the bed, removing his shoes, “You play that memory of yours down too much. You’re far more intelligent than you think.”
“You think that?”
“Of course, I do. It’s not just because I love you dearly, either. You mustn’t let the words and actions of others control your opinion on yourself - you’re better than they say.”
This is his ultimate fantasy. He’s her lover. They travel and see the beauty of humanity together, just like what he said he wanted. He loves her. He thinks she’s so great.
He’s wrong.
She should’ve stayed with him that night.
He’s wrong.
She could’ve done so much to keep him with her.
He’s dead.
Because she should’ve stayed.
“Kiyo,” her eyes burned and began to soak, “I’m sorry!” her lungs rapidly expanded and contracted with her sporadic breaths, her hands clutching at her shirt. Her knees finally buckled and she collapsed to the ground, “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry for being a stupid, stupid, stupid failure! Please… forgive me…!”
Korekiyo immediately stood up and rushed to (Y/n)’s side, bringing her into a tight hug as she fell to the floor, his fingers running through her hair. He kisses at her temple and cheeks, waiting until her cries settle enough for him to be audible in the room, “It’s interesting, dear, I first realized I’d fallen in love with you in a situation similar as this. I desired to comfort and reassure you just as I do now. You’re not stupid nor a failure, and I adore you above all else.”
Shaking her head, (Y/n) only began to cry harder into Korekiyo’s chest. This could’ve been their future. This could’ve been what they had to share and hold between only each other. If she’d only stayed. If she’d been with him that night.
“Oh, my dear, I’m sorry for upsetting you.”
“It wasn’t you,” she clamped a hand over her mouth, trying to keep back her cries, “I- I- it’s all my fault… it’s all my fault…”
“You haven’t done anything wrong, darling,” Korekiyo held her tighter, “I love you, my dearest (Y/n). No matter what you’ve done, I will always forgive you.”
And once again, her tears only came out harder. Her head pounding ruthlessly at the ache and consciousness fading out in her exhaustion. Korekiyo was dead. And no amount of her tears could ever bring him back.
The Things I Never Said (Fuyuhiko x Reader)
~
This is inspired by a game I’m playing right now. It’s called ‘Far From Noise’, and it’s about a person who’s teetering on the edge of a cliff and goes through their thought process as they face this near death experience. I haven’t finished the game yet, so this is really just a story based on the main idea of that game.
I’ve never written anything like this, but I hope you enjoy this story, so let’s get going. 💜
~~~~
So this is it.
The end of everything.
So much for clearing your head.
Soon you wouldn’t even HAVE a head.
You stared out at the horizon that stretched out before you, far beyond the cliff your car was teetering on the edge of.
The world seemed endless from this point of view, like the ocean stretched on forever.
It sparkled and shined under the light of the slowly setting sun.
You wondered what it would look like when you finally fell.
Would it send a shower of sparkling water into the sky?
Would crystal raindrops fall in front of your eyes?
You’d always liked the rain.
There were worse things to see when you died.
Died.
The reality of that death was hanging in front of you.
It was sad really.
Ending on so many regrets.
So many things you never said.
Your phone vibrated from its place in the cup holder.
It was a message from Sonia.
Who said you couldn’t say those things now?
You picked up your phone and hit call.
“Hello?”
“Hey Sonia.”
“Y/n? Where are you?”
“Hah..It’s a long story. Let’s just say I’m stuck somewhere. I’m not sure how long I’ve got, and I have other calls to make, so I’ll make it quick. Sorry I don’t have more time to explain.”
“Hey! Where the fuck are ya?!” Miu yelled in the background, and you smiled.
“Good, Miu is with you too. Can you put it on speaker?”
“Y/n-“
“Just listen, okay?” When they didn’t say anything, you continued. “Thank you both for everything you’ve done for me. Sonia, you helped me learn to be confident. You always knew when I was feeling bad, and you were there to comfort me every time. Miu, you were always there to drag me out of my house when I needed it. You taught me to stand up for myself and not take anybody’s shit. You two are the reason I got out of my shell and learned to take some risks. Thank you for always being there when I needed a push in the right direction. I love you guys.”
“Why’re ya talkin’ like ya ain’t comin’ back?”
“Don’t worry about it.”
You hung up before they could ask any more questions. Next was Kazuichi.
“What’s up?”
You heard talking in the background. “Who’s with you?”
“Hajime and Gundham. Why?”
“Can you put your phone on speaker?”
“Uh yea-“ You heard a click, and two voices came through at the same time, both greeting you.
“Hey guys, sorry for calling so suddenly. I just wanted to say something.”
“What’s wrong?” Hajime asked, and you couldn’t help but smile. He was always the most observant one.
“Don’t worry about it. Just listen for a minute.” You waited a second, and when you were met with silence, you spoke up again. “You guys have been really good friends to me. Kazuichi, you taught me how to fix a flat tire and always cheered me up when I was down. Hajime, you’re an empath, and it really shows. You always knew what I was thinking, and you never stopped caring for me. Gundham, you taught me about the supernatural and reminded me that the past doesn’t define me. I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for being there for me and for being my friends. I love you guys.”
Your voice was shaking, so you hung up before they could respond.
One last person.
Of course, he always had to be one step ahead.
Your phone lit up, Fuyuhiko’s picture flashing across the screen. You answered the call, and held the phone up to your ear.
“Will you hurry the fuck up an’ let me in?! I’ve been knockin’ on your damn door for almost five minutes!”
“I’m not at home.”
“Huh? Where are you?”
“On the edge of a cliff.”
“What the- Don’t joke about shit like that!”
“I’m not joking. Some drunk guy ran me off the road.”
There was a moment of silence before you heard him yelling to someone, probably Peko.
“Where are you?” He asked quickly.
“I don’t think there’s a point.”
“Where the fuck are you, (Y/n)?!”
You gave him the name of the street you’d been driving on and heard him shout it to Peko.
“Fuyuhiko-“
“Don’t!” He hissed angrily, but there was a hint of desperation in it. “Don’t say my name like you’re never gonna see me again!”
“I might not.”
“Shut up! What kinda dumbass are you?! I’m gonna find you!”
You chuckled breathily. Maybe you were losing it?
“Why the fuck are you laughin’?!”
“You called me that when we met, remember? I ran into you by accident. ‘Watch where you’re goin’, dumbass!’” You quoted his words with a smile.
“You remember that shit?”
“Course I do. It was a pretty memorable meeting.” You chuckled.
“How the fuck are you so calm?”
“I don’t know. I guess it’s cause I finally got to say everything I wanted. Well, almost everything.”
“Whaddya mean ‘almost’?”
“There’s one thing I haven’t gotten to say to you.”
“Well fuckin’ say it, then.”
You looked out at the pink sky, beautiful and bright.
“...You’re a good guy. Despite what you think sometimes, there are people that care about you and want to be around you just because they like you. Not everyone wants something from you. They’re not all using you for their benefit. Underneath the whole Ultimate Yakuza thing, you’re a big sweetheart. You care for the people close to you, and you’d do anything to protect them.”
“He-Hey! Don’t say such sappy shi-“
“You’re a hypocrite though. You always insist that I shouldn’t be around you, that it’s dangerous, and I could get hurt, but you come to my house, and you cheer me up, and you’re always there when I’m in trouble. You’re the biggest hypocrite I’ve ever met because you constantly tell me not to care about you, but you come around and make me laugh and tell me about your life and your family. You come to me after your missions when you’re injured and tired, and I always take care of you, and you stay at my house, and we watch movies until we fall asleep. You nag me to dress warm when it’s cold and yell at me when I work too much at one time. You’ve met my mother, and she loves you, and you know more about me than anyone else. You come around and tell me not to care, but you make me care so much because you’re just so..so you! You’re you, and I’m me, and I care, and I can’t stop caring because I don’t know how, and I don’t want to! I want to care! I want to love you, and I do!” You rushed all the words out and sucked in a breath when you were finished.
“I..love you. I love you so much that I smile when I think of you, my heart beats too fast when you smile, I worry constantly when you’re on a mission, and I wanna cry from relief when you get back. I love you, Fuyuhiko.”
There was a long moment of complete silence before “Fuck, why say that now?! Why wait until you might die to tell me that?!” His voice cracked, and you winced when you realized he was crying. “You’re an idiot! An absolute fuckin’ idiot, an’ I swear to god if you die, I’ll hunt down your ghost and kick your ass, (Y/n)!” He breathed in shakily. “So live goddammit.” He pleaded, and your heart felt like it was being squeezed to death.
“I’ll do my best..” You murmured in response.
Your phone beeped, and static crackled in your ear.
“Fuyuhiko?”
More static met you in response, and you sighed when the automated voice told you the call had been disconnected.
You tried the ignition one more time, but the engine only sputtered before going dead again.
“Hurry up guys..” You mumbled nervously.
~
The 20 minutes that followed felt like the longest of your life. You were exhausted but too nervous to fall asleep.
You were clinging to a single thread of hope, but as the sun set and night began to fall, that thread began to wear thin.
Just as it was ready to snap, light flooded through the back windshield, followed by several screams of your name. You leaned your head out the window as best as you could without leaning forward to far.
“I’m in here!” You called.
You were surprised to see not just Fuyuhiko and Peko, but also everyone else too. Directions were being shouted as half of them leaned on the back of the car, and the other half reached for you. Hands caught your arms, your waist, your legs, anything they could reach, and pulled. You squeezed your eyes shut and jumped, trusting them to catch you. They pulled even harder, all of you falling into a pile on solid ground.
It took literally all of you, but you even managed to pull you car off the edge too. As soon as that was done though, they all engulfed you in a huge hug.
You were still buzzing off adrenaline, barely managing to process their tearful happiness that you were safe.
Suddenly, everyone started leaving, all awkwardly claiming they had somewhere to be. Even Peko gave you a quick hug and said goodbye.
In a flash, they were gone, piling into cars that disappeared down the street.
“What the hell were you thinkin’?!”
Despite his angry outburst, Fuyuhiko wrapped you up in the tightest hug you’d ever received. “I can’t..breathe..” You choked out.
“Too bad.” He grumbled angrily, but he still loosened his grip.
You curled your arms around him with a soft sigh. “I’m sorry.”
“Huh?”
“For worrying you...and for what I said.”
“Why the hell’re you apologizin’ for that?”
“I mean, I get that you probably don’t feel that way for me. If you want, you can just forget abo-“
“No.” He stated bluntly, the scowl on his face contrasted greatly by the blush slowly creeping across his cheeks. “I’m not gonna forget it, and you aren’t either.”
“But-“
“I..” He looked away from you, that blush spreading all the way to the tips of his ears. “I-I love you too.”
You couldn’t do anything but just gape at him, shock branded across your face.
The longer you stared silently at him, the more nervous he felt. Hell, he didn’t even get nervous on potentially deadly missions, so how the fuck can one person make him feel like a nervous wreck?!
“Stop standin’ there an’ fuckin’ do somethin’!” He snapped, knocking you out of your disbelieving thoughts.
“I’m not dreaming?”
“No, you’re not fuckin’ dreamin’.” He grumbled. “This is re-“
You grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him into a kiss. His stuttered words were muffled against your mouth.
This was real.
You smiled against his lips as you kissed him again. You ran your fingers up the nape of his neck and into his short hair. You held him close, like he would disappear if you let go, and eventually he kissed you back, his arms tightening around you.
You pulled away after several minutes and just grinned, your face just as flushed as his.
“I love you.” You repeated your earlier words breathlessly.
He nudged you away, straightening his tie embarrassedly, but even in the dark, there was no mistaking the smile on his own face.
“I love you too, loser.”

kokichi had been acting rather weird lately, it seemed like he’d been avoiding you the whole week, today especially. only once were you able to catch his attention, and even then, it was cut short.
”hey, ‘kichi..” you spoke, using the nickname you gave him. he sat at the edge of his couch, tapping away at his phone, something he’d been doing a lot lately. he didn’t even demand you for hugs or cuddles.
”hm?” he hummed, raising his vibrant purple eyes to meet yours.
”did i-“ you began and he cocked his head to the side, something you’d coo at if it weren’t for your current situation. “did i do something wrong?” you asked him, eyebrows furrowing. the blank look on his face didn’t reassure you. blinking, kokichi gave you a huge grin and jumped onto your lap.
”of course not, babe!” you didn’t know whether or not he was lying. a notification from his phone distracted him for a moment and his eyes noticeably widened. “aw, looks like i gotta go, something happened back at d.i.c.e..” he frowned. now that was a lie. before he had been acting all weird, he had told you about his week off. an impish grin spread across his face once he stared at your facial features. “awww, so you figured out my lie, huh? too bad, i guess.” although he didn’t sound at all affected. “i was actually going to go and see kiibo!”
”but you hate k-“ he cut you off by pressing a quick and soft kiss to your cheek. before you could even utter a response, he jumped from your lap and out the front door. you frowned. something was definitely up.
of course, when you had first got with kokchi, you had your worries (mainly about his tenancy to lie) but once the two of you started dating, he had began to become more truthful and certainly not as rude as he had been before, of course he still had his moments. he was kokichi after all.
that day, he missed dinner. your nervousness didn't get any better.
but, as said previously, today he seemed even worse. when you woke up, he wasn't there, no text to tell you what he was usually doing (something he'd usually do if he decided to prank others, as he needed a get away driver). you really waned to give him the benefit of the doubt, you really did, but they still managed to worm their way into your head.
you sighed and picked up your phone, dialing kaede, your phone ringing a few times before she finally picked up.
"shh- she called- oh!" kaede exclaimed, as if she hadn't been scolding someone. "yes, y/n?"
"oh, uh.." you absent mindlessly called. what did you even call her for? to vent, possibly, but would she even know what to say?
"what's wrong?" she asked, and you heard the blonde's shift in tone immediately shift, her happy one turning into one of concern. "did something happen?" you swore you heard muffled voices in the back silence at her question.
"yeah.. i guess..?" you responded slowly. "i'm just nervous.." you sighed, and played with your hair, a nervous habit of yours. the silence on the other end of the phone prompted you to keep speaking. "recently- er- this whole week, actually, it seems like kokichi has been avoiding me, constantly lying and leaving the house and i just-" you slumped in defeat. you felt petty for having to burden kaede with your relationship issues, but she was such a good friend to talk to.
"you just what?" kaede urged you on, sounding a lot calmer than before.
"i'm scared." you admitted finally, clutching your phone. "i love kokichi, and i know he lies- but he's been dong it a lot less, and for him to all of a sudden lie about where he's going.." you shifted in your spot. "i feel like shit, for doubting him, and i really don't want too."
kaede hummed, and you immediately picked up how she sounded as if she had been smiling. huh? "well, i'm sure kokichi wouldn't do anything. anyways, you should go and get ready, kokichi probably doesn't want you in your pajamas." before you could ask what she meant, she had hung up, and the front door to you and kokichi's house opened, the grape panta loving male himself standing in the doorway.
he was quick to grab your hand and lead you outside and to his car (you almost snorted with how serious he had looked while on his booster seat to the car- he had to see the road somehow)!
"where are we going?" you asked as soon as he began driving and you looked out the window watching the scenery change.
"ughh, your so impatient." kokichi pouted. "you'll see once you get there!"
the rest of the ride was in silence.
finally, you two had reached your destination, it being kaede's house. you stared on in confusion. "why-" you began, but kokichi had already parked (surprisingly well, mind you) and was getting out of the car.
"well, are you just going to sit in there all day? we don't have time to waste!" kokichi whined, opening your door and dragging you by the sleeve much like a child would to their mother. you didn't protest and simply let yourself be dragged. with how distant he had been acting this week, the sudden attention he was giving you left you even more confused. even then, he never explained why the both of you had went to kaede's house.
when the two of you walked into the house, it was pitch black. your grip on kokichi faltered, yet he didn't seem affected, only continuing forward. suddenly, he stopped moving, causing you to bump into him. due to the lack of light, you couldn't see his face, yet you somehow knew he was grinning.
the lights turned on abruptly, a chorus of voices shouting at the top of their lungs.
"happy birthday!"
everyone you ever knew stood in front of you, adorning party hats and various wrapped gifts and it took you a few seconds to process what had happened.
"uhm.. is she okay?" shuichi was the first to break the silence as he messed with his party hat glancing away.
"i think she's just shocked is all." rantaro chuckled. shocked was an understatement. you turned to kokichi, eyes silently begging him for an explanation and his grin only widened, his hands folded behind his head.
"what?" he asked innocently. "you really think i wouldn't do something for your birthday? don't tell me you forgot your own birthday.." he sulked, his teasing attitude quickly dampened before suddenly turning serious. "hey.. what you said to kaede, you weren't lying, right?" you glanced away, suddenly very aware of the stares that lingered on the both of you, luckily for you he had said it in a tone where only you could have heard it. "i didn't mean to make yo worry, and that's not a lie! i just wanted to plan you an amazing birthday party." kokichi confessed, furrowing his brows as his face turned a light shade of pink, obviously embarrassed.
you only gave a small chuckle. "no, i shouldn't have doubted you so much.. and thank you for this party kokichi." it was clear to see how much he had planned out for this party, from the decorations to the cake, he even invited kiibo and miu!
"well of course, i wouldn't give you anything less you know." he said pridefully, his serious attitude vanishing. you sighed, yet smiled. you were glad that your worries were just simply worries and not anything greater.
you ruffled the leader's hair and pecked him on the cheek, slyly grinning at how quickly he had shut up from your public display of affection.
"come on! at least eat the cake before you two decide to fuck!" miu called out, huffing and you snorted at her vulgar words, your face turning as red as kokichi's.
"m-miu!" kiibo stammered. "you can't just say that!"
ignoring miu's comment all of you proceeded to celebrate your birthday, the party going on without any hitches.
ps: uhhh the ending was really rushed, sorry 😥

Keebo x Reader-Not Just a Robot
Requested by uwu_chiaki on Wattpad
"I find this show highly robophobic!" You covered your mouth and let out a chuckle as your robotic friend Keebo exclaimed at the anime the two of you are watching.
"It's just a show, Keebo." You giggled, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"They should not show such inaccuracies!" The robot huffed, crossing his arms. "Not all robots have giant drills, or are that tall!"
"They aren't even really robots, Keebo. At least not a robot like you." You explained. "They're giant suits called mechas. They don't really have a conscience like you do."
"That's even worse!" The poor roboboy's voice cracks as he yells in frustration. "You mean those boys are controlling it without consent?!"
You sweatdropped and let out a nervous chuckle. "It...it's not alive, Kee. It's like a tank. It can't really give consent."
"Then why does it have a face? Tanks don't have faces!" He argued.
You sighed and opened your mouth to respond, but were interrupted by your and Keebo's roommate, Kokichi, jumping on the couch between the two of you.
"They have faces because they used to be alive and conscious, but the humans reprogrammed it to have no say in the matter!" The purple haired gremlin beamed as he finished speaking.
"They did what!?" Keebo exclaimed in distress, his eyes glued to the TV. You gave the little shit a glare, to which he responded with an innocent smile and wave. "Y/N, I forbid you from watching this show anymore! It is robophobic, and promotes violence against robots!"
"K-Keebo no!" You said, exasperated. "Kokichi is lying about that. This show doesn't promote violence against robots."
"Theeeeen what's that about?" Kokichi asked, pointing to the screen as four teenagers wearing black start attacking the robot. Seeing this, Keebo lets out an ear piercing scream that forces both you and Kokichi to cover your ears.
"Kokichi was right!" Keebo cried out. "The human inside isn't even trying to fight back! He's letting the robot take the damage!"
"Because he's hungry!" You tried to tell him. "It's actually a plot point in this episode! And they aren't really robo-ugh you know what, forget it." You groaned and grabbed the remote, turning the TV off before sinking into the couch.
"Aww it was just gettin' good!" Kokichi protested.
You and Keebo both glared at him. "Why did we allow you to move in with us?" You asked him.
The boy thought for a moment before blinking his eyelashes innocently. "Because you loooooooove me?"
You exchanged a look with Keebo before you both grabbed a throw pillow and began to beat the Supreme Leader with it. Kokichi screamed and tried to cover himself before running out of the living room.
After he's gone, Keebo looks over to you. "I'm sorry I could not enjoy your show, Y/N. I just do not agree with what it is showing."
You shook your head with a sigh. "That's not what the show's about, but it's fine. Not everyone can get into shows about giant fighting robots."
Keebo nodded before...blushing? Wait, he can blush? You raised an eyebrow at this as he spoke. "I...enjoyed spending time with you, regardless. I...always have fun when I'm with you."
You smiled warmly at him. "Aw, I enjoy spending time with you, too!" You agreed with him. "You're one of my best friends!" You noticed Keebo wince when you said that. "Keebo, you alright?"
He nodded, but clutched his chest plate. "Yes, do not worry. However, whenever you say those words...my chest hurts."
You tilted your head at your friend. "Where...exactly does it hurt, Keebo?" You asked him.
The robot thought for a moment before taking his hand and placing it on his chest plate where his heart would be. "About here."
You bit your lip. You didn't want to jump to conclusions here. You didn't know much about robots, so maybe they needed to have a heart like part? "Hey, Keebs?" You called to him, smiling over at your friend.
He returned it. "Yes, Y/N?"
"I apologize if this sounds robophobic. You know I'd never do that intentionally." Keebo nodded in agreement as you continued. "Do...do you have a heart?"
Keebo frowned. "That would be a robophobic comment coming from anyone else." The roboboy stated. He gave you a grin. "But I know you mean well, so do not worry." He shook his head. "I do not have a heart. I do however have a battery that acts like one. It is the most important part of my body."
You nodded along. "That's really interesting, Keebo." You said, genuinely interested. "Is it in the same place as our hearts?" When the boy nodded, you looked away and rubbed the back of your head. "Hey...Keeboy?" You said softy.
"Everything alright, Y/N?" Keebo asked you worriedly.
"Yeah. Everything's fine. Just..." You shook your head. "Keebo, that pain in your chest, what makes it happen?"
"Well, it usually occurs when you mention us being friends. Like how we're such good friends or how we're best friends. But it hurts even worse when I see you with another boy." Keebo scratched his head. "I cannot understand why."
You sighed. "I think I do." You placed a hand on Keebo's shoulder. "Keebo...I think you have a crush on me."
The robot's eyes widened as he stared at you. "What?! A...a crush?!" He exclaimed.
You nodded. "You know. Like...you like like me. You want to date me."
"I am aware of the meaning, Y/N." Keebo told you, attempting to regain his composure. "Miu has taught me many...interesting things about love in an attempt to make me more human like."
"She did?" You questioned. "And you never thought you had one on me?"
"Well..." Keebo lets out a robotic sounding cough. "As I run through the data now, it makes sense. Yes. I suppose I do. I suppose it never occurred to me." He turned to look at you slowly. "So what I am feeling when around you is...love?"
You gave him a warm smile. "If it's the same thing I feel when around you, then yes." You responded, placing a hand over his own.
The robot looked down at your hand on top of his. After a moment, he slowly turned his hand over and intertwined his robotic digits with your own soft fingers. "You reciprocate my feelings then?" He asked you quietly.
"Mmhmm." You hummed quietly, placing your head on his shoulder.
"That makes me feel very happy." Keebo smiled. "I apologize in advance if I do something wrong. I am still unsure what to do when one is 'in love'."
You smiled and cupped his face, gently turning it towards you. "I promise I'll guide you the whole way." You whispered. You stayed like that for a moment, your face dangerously close to Keebo's, before you decided 'fuck it' and closed your eyes, pressing your lips against Keebo's metallic features. You felt the robot stiffen and he let out a surprise sound, which you found adorable, causing you to giggle.
After a moment, Keebo seemed to relax. He slowly grabbed you by the hips and placed you so you were pretty much straddling the flustered robot. With you at this new angle, Keebo placed one of his hands against the small of your back, his other going up and getting tangled in your hair. Finally, he closed his eyes, and attempted to kiss you back, which was really him pushing his face against you. But you didn't really mind. You appreciated the effort Keebo was making, though you were positive Miu had a hand in most of this.
After a minute or two, you pulled away, a smile on your face.
"Was that...acceptable, Y/N?" Keebo asked, clearly very flustered.
You chuckled and kissed his cheek. "It was very acceptable, Keeby." You assured him.

so, i'm assuming the requests are open? if not feel free to ignore this, but how would Miu, Makoto, Shuichi, Fuyuhiko and Hiyoko react to their usually calm, optimistic and confident s/o doing a complete 180 and agressivelly snapping at them, yelling and insulting everyone and being on the verge of tears when they're accused of being the murderer in a class trial? ((the s/o didn't do it, they're just desperately trying to prove their innocence))
poor reader-chan,, we need the protagonist to figure out who dunnit!!!
Makoto
“You know, ____ has been acting really suspicious. Do they even have an alibi?”
Makoto’s mind blanks for a second as those words were said. Were they seriously accusing you of being the murderer? There’s no way that’s true!
He was about to argue in your defense when you started shouting at the person who accused you
Which only fueled their accusations. They began saying how suspicious it was that you were crying and yelling, with how out of character it was, surely that means that you’re the culprit
“No, that’s wrong!” Makoto all but shouts out
He begins to explain all the ways that you’re not the murderer, and as he speaks he realizes who the actual killer was
With the evidence he lays out, he manages to convince everyone of your innocence, the accuser included
Fuyuhiko
Fuyuhiko instantly calls them an idiot but is surprised to see ___ responding similarly
You were always so sweet and calm, but now you’re shouting and crying that you weren’t the murderer?
It honestly broke his heart seeing you like this
Which motivated him even further to figure out who the real killer was
Although he’s not quite as good of a detective as Hajime or Chiaki, he tries his best to point out all the reasons why you couldn’t be the killer
“They were with me all day! How could they be the damn killer?”
“Of course you’d be saying that. How do we know you’re even telling the truth and not just saying that to protect them?”
He’s about ready to jump off his spot at those words when Hajime begins to explain how there was evidence showing that you weren’t the killer
It takes a lot for him to calm down, and afterward, he feels guilty that he was so focused on being angry that he didn’t try to comfort you
Of course, you forgive him, you’re just glad everyone realized you were innocent
Hiyoko
Ohh boy does that piss her off
She’s cussing out anyone who even looks at you funny
She’s shocked at your sudden personality change, but she’s not too surprised, I mean, anyone would be pissed off for being accused of murder wouldn’t they?
It really annoys her that she can’t do much to help prove your innocence. She knows she’s not the best detective, and she can’t even give you an alibi, but she knows you’d never do something like that!
While you and her are yelling at everyone, she relies on Nagito to help guide everyone to who the murderer actually is
And to her surprise, it was the person who first accused you
She’s not ashamed to say that she got a great deal of pleasure watching that bastard be executed
Shuichi
Your aggression really throws him for a loop
You were always so sweet and calm, and now you're cussing everyone out!
Although he can understand where you’re coming from - you’ve just been accused of murder, after all, and you’re innocent. He knows you’re innocent
So he begins wracking his brain to figure out how to prove that to everyone else and to prove who the real killer is
He’s trying to give you words of encouragement as he starts to go through all the ways that you’re innocent
And after the whole thing is over, he gives you a huge hug and promises that he would never let them think you were the killer
Miu
She’s right there snapping at everyone with you
“Of course she’s not the fucking murderer, shit-for-brains! How fuckin’ stupid do you have to be to think that?!”
She’s honestly too worked up at the thought of you being accused to even notice your change in demeanor
As Shuichi explains that there’s evidence proving that you’re /not/ the murderer, she feels such a sense of relief
Relief that everyone knows your innocent! She never doubted you for a second
After the trial, you go up to her and apologize for your outbursts, and she comforts you
She drops her boisterous front and hugs you close, assuring you that there’s no way in hell that she’d ever let them vote for you

The bookshelf slides away from the wall with a rumble and a groan. It swings to the left, pivoting on one corner as if on hinges. Ouma is forced to step out of the way of the bookcase as it reveals the wall—or rather, the door concealed behind it.
Well, that explains the drag marks on the floor.
The door is split down the middle, mimicking Monokuma’s black and white coloring. A card reader is mounted to the right of the door, looking shiny and new, totally out of place among the mildew-infested books.
“Holy shit,” Iruma says.
“What the fuck,” Tenko says.
“Cool!” Ouma chirps.
The urge to dropkick him intensifies when he skips forward to examine the doors, hands tucked behind is back as he leans forward in interest. That level of nonchalance can not be normal.

Switch! (Gundham x Fem! Reader) Part 1
~
I’m so excited for this story, so I hope you enjoy this first chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it!!! 💜
~
You were a bit surprised when Sonia asked you to come along for this. Apparently, Miu and Kazuichi wanted Gundham and her to do a ritual that would give Miu’s robot, Kiibo, a real soul. It was crazy and somewhat unbelievable, but you supposed it could work. You weren’t as avid a believer in the occult as Gundham and Sonia, but you acknowledged the possibility of a realm outside your own.
Even if you didn’t entirely believe in it, the supernatural was something you never dared to mess with. You told yourself you weren’t about to go getting cursed if the stuff was real.
Yet, here you were, watching idly as Gundham and Sonia drew foreign symbols on the ground before laying a large circle of salt around them.
Kiibo sat in the center of the circle, and you took a moment to glance around the room. Miu was practically vibrating with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. Kazuichi was staring apprehensively at the circle, and you felt a bit bad when you saw his hands trembling.
On instinct, you walked over to him. “It’s gonna be okay.” You told him gently. “Just take a deep breath and do what they say.”
He breathed in shakily and offered you a weak smile. “Thanks.”
You smiled, patting him on the arm in what you hoped was a reassuring gesture, before heading over to Miu.
“Excited?” You asked, leaning against the wall beside her. You crossed your arms over your chest, a giggle bubbling from your throat when she responded.
“Excited?! I’m fuckin’ ecstatic! If this shit works, I’ll be the greatest inventor of my time!”
You nodded along with a smile. “I hope it works too, and even if it doesn’t, you’ll find a way.” You bumped her shoulder with yours. “You’re Miu Iruma, after all.”
Miu grinned widely. “You’re damn straight I am!”
“We are ready!” Sonia called and you, along with Kazuichi and Miu, made your way over to them.
Sonia positioned each of you in a certain spot. Just as she moved to you, Gundham spoke up.
“She must be across from me.”
“Why?” You asked curiously.
“You are the only one with a power level similar to my own.”
You nodded, even though that didn’t explain much, and took your place across from him. He nodded approvingly and looked to Sonia, who nodded back to him.
The ritual had begun.
Gundham and Sonia began to speak, but the language wasn’t one you knew. The words went over your head, but there was a certain power behind them.
Something in the room changed.
The air felt charged, with what, you weren’t sure, but it was there, pulsing with the beat of their hearts.
The last of the chants died down, and everything went quiet. There was a long moment of silence.
Then the lights above your heads burst.
You heard a mixture of yelps and screams, but you couldn’t make a sound. What you could see of the world around you rose and sank. A kaleidoscope of colors exploded in front of your eyes, and you vaguely felt your knees hit the ground before everything went dark.
~
When you opened your eyes again, you squinted at the brightness. The lights were back on. Everything else was exactly as it had been the last time you saw it. You couldn’t have been out that long, and that comforted you. That meant you’d likely passed out from shock and not something serious.
You still groaned when you sat up, and someone was immediately at your side. You recognized Sonia’s blonde hair in the corner of your eye.
“Gundham, are you okay?” She asked frantically, worry written across her face.
You frowned. “What’re you-“
You froze. That wasn’t your voice.
You looked down at your body. Except it wasn’t your body.
Your eyes darted to the place you’d been standing. Your eyes met your own staring back at you in shock.
You raised a shaking hand out in front of you. They weren’t your hands. They were Gundham’s.

Switch! (Gundham x Fem!Reader) Part 8

Ring
Ring
Ring
You groaned and rolled over, nearly knocking your phone onto the floor when you reached for it.
“Hello?”
“Open the door!” Miu yelled through the phone, making you wince and pull it away from your ear.
“Jeez Miu, could you be any louder?” You grumbled as you dragged yourself out of bed.
“Just let is in!”
“Yeah yeah, I’m comin’.”
Miu charged past you as soon as you opened the door. “Where is it?!”
“Where is what?” You asked, rubbing at your eyes.
“The puppy!” Sonia explained excitedly.
“It’s not much of a puppy. If she stood on her hind legs, she’d almost be your height.” You chuckled. “Mavis!” You called, smiling when you heard the click of claws on the floor as she bounded into the living room.
The fluffy, golden brown dog still had bandages wrapped around her midsection, but other than that, you’d never know she was hurt.
Mavis paused when she caught sight of your visitors, so you walked over to her and crouched down beside her, scratching her chin affectionately. “Mavis, meet Sonia and Miu, my best friends.” You turned your head to them. “Hold out your hands.”
They did as you asked, and Mavis sniffed each of them before licking their hands.
“She likes you guys.”
“So, how did things go with Gundham?” Miu asked, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.
The emotions from last night flooded back to you, forcing a sigh from between your lips. “Confusing.”
Sonia frowned worriedly. “What happened?”
You waved them further into the room and took a seat on the couch. Mavis jumped up and sat beside you, resting her head in your lap. You smiled softly as you combed your fingers through her fur. Miu plopped onto the other couch, and Sonia sat beside her.
You ran through the events of last night, leaving out what Gundham had told you about his father.
“So you like him?” Miu asked curiously.
You shrugged helplessly. “I don’t know. Maybe?”
“Why not tell him of these conflicting feelings?” Sonia asked.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea..”
“Why the hell not?”
“I don’t wanna say anything when I don’t even know what I feel.”
“But-“
“Besides, there’s no way he would feel that way about me anyway, so there’s no point.”
“That’s a load a sh-“
Your phone rang, cutting Miu off. You got up and headed into the kitchen before answering it. “Hello?”
“We’ve got a huge problem!” Hiko shouted from the other end of the line.
“What’s wrong?”
“One of the legs broke off the nightstand, and Mrs. Nayako is coming to get it this afternoon! We’re trying to fix it, but the saw is acting up again! You’re the only one that can get the stupid thing to work when it’s like this!” Hiko explained frantically.
“Okay okay, I’ll be there soon. Just breathe. I’m on my way.”
~~~~
You did manage to get the saw working again, and you, Manako, and Hiko managed to get the leg fixed just before Mrs. Nayako came to get it.
You were glad Sonia reminded you of the weather forecast because when you stepped outside again, it was pouring rain.
You always liked it when it rained. There was something about it that just made you feel so calm.
When you were in the orphanage, you used to sit in the window in your room and watch the rain fall. It was one of the few good memories you had from that place.
You held out your hand, letting the raindrops fall into your palm before cascading down your fingers. The water was cool against your skin, and it soothed the slight burn from the woodworking.
You looked both ways as you crossed the street, only to spot a familiar face on the other side.
Gundham was walking down the sidewalk, drenched from head to toe, but he didn’t seem bothered by it. You shook your head and hurried across the street, catching up with him fairly easily.
You held out your umbrella to cover his head, not really caring that you were getting wet. “You’ll get sick if you walk around like that.”
He turned to face you, raising an eyebrow as he did. “I could say the same to you.” He pushed your hand so the umbrella was over your head instead.
You moved closer until the umbrella covered you both. “If we walk together, neither of us’ll get sick.” You smiled sweetly, trying to ignore just how close together you were.
“I-I suppose I cannot argue with your logic.” He responded, hiding his face with his scarf.
“Lead the way.” You two walked together for several minutes before something crossed your mind. “Oh yeah, I meant to ask you last night, but what kind of food is best for Mavis?”
“Follow me, and I will give you some.”
You nodded and thanked him. You followed him to the Breedery, only to be caught off guard by who was standing out front.
“Mom?” You called, and your foster mother turned to you in surprise before a smile lit up her face.
“There you are! Your friends said you would probably be here!” She hugged you tightly, nearly making you drop your umbrella.
When she pulled away from you, she seemed to finally notice Gundham standing beside you. She glanced back and forth between you two several times before a wide grin stretched across her face. “Oh my, are you two on a date?”
You nearly choked on your own air. “E-Excuse me?”
“Well don’t let me interrupt!”
She smiled so happily that you didn’t even have the heart to correct her. You knew you’d have to tell her eventually, but maybe it was alright to give her this one moment.
She gave your hand a squeeze and offered Gundham a smile. “I’ll see you at home, (Y/n)!” With that, she all but skipped in the direction of your home, leaving you and Gundham staring after her.
You turned to him, scratching your cheek nervously. “Sorry about that.”
When you actually looked at him, you were genuinely surprised to find that he’d turned as red as a tomato, and you found it incredibly adorable. Not that you would tell him that though.
Well, that’s what you thought, at least, but the words tumbled out of your mouth before you could stop them.
“You look pretty when you blush.”
Well shit.
“I-I didn’t mean to say that out loud!”
You essentially just told him you were thinking that in your head though. Well, no going back now, you guess.
“It’s true though.” You murmured shyly.
His whole face flushed scarlet, and he looked away from you. “I-I need no flattery from a mortal such as yourself.”
You raised an eyebrow at the response. He glanced at you, and upon noticing your expression, amended his statement with a sigh. “I suppose even dark overlords can appreciate a compliment. Th-Thank you.”
The smile returned to your face, and he let out a relieved sigh.
“Oh right!” You’d almost forgotten why you came here. “The dog food!”
“Ah yes, the food for your hellbeast. Forgive me for the waver in my focus.” He led you into the Breedery and towards the back.
There were rows upon rows of various animal foods, so many choices that you felt overwhelmed just looking at it.
Gundham, on the other hand, strided towards one of the shelves and procured a bag of dog food.
“Feed this to your hellbeast, and she will grow to be unstoppable.” He laughed maniacally, and you found yourself laughing too.
“Thanks Gundham!” You gave him a quick hug and flashed a sunny smile. “See you later!”
He watched you as you headed for the door, only relaxing once you were out of sight. He sat down in a nearby chair and buried his face in his hands. “That woman will be the death of me.”
Switch! (Gundham x Fem! Reader) Part 7
~
Music poured softly from the speakers as you drove home. You’d stayed late at the workshop to finish up a dresser that was being picked up tomorrow. The sun was setting, turning the sky a lovely shade of purple.
You were finally starting to get back into your routine, with a few exceptions. Sonia and Gundham came by to drag you out of your house at least once a week. Sometimes, they just randomly came over to hang out.
Sure, you hung out with them before. You were friends, after all, but you weren’t as close to them, especially not Gundham.
You were almost thankful for the whole switching places thing just because it finally broke down the wall between you two.
It felt like you really were friends now, not just awkward acquaintances. Not to mention, it brought you closer to Sonia too. You found that you actually had more in common with each other than you thought.
You’d both grown up mostly by yourselves. You were in an orphanage, and Sonia’s parents were always busy, so she was raised mainly by her governess, Sarah. You both had felt out of place in your own countries and found a real home here in Japan.
You both shared a strange fascination in the supernatural, though Sonia was the one that actually ventured into it. That was actually how you met Gundham.
Sonia had called you one day, saying she found ‘a master of the dark arts’ that she wanted you to meet. That’s how you were introduced to the mysterious and eccentric Gundham Tanaka.
Looking back on it made you smile. You never could’ve guessed the chaos and good memories that would follow that meeting.
You were knocked out of your thoughts when you reached your house. You parked in the driveway and got out. Winter was coming, and it was cold outside. You were making your way up the little path that led to your front steps when you noticed something.
“Is that..blood?” You crouched down to inspect the red stains on the concrete. The second you did the coppery smell of fresh blood hit you. Then you noticed something else. It wasn’t just that one spot. There was a trail of blood leading up your front steps.
You hesitated before rushing up the front steps, only to freeze completely at what you saw. There was a dog on your doorstep, it’s fur matted with blood.
“Oh shit.”
~Time Skip Brought to You By My Lazy Ass~
You’d called Sonia on the way, and after very frantically explaining the situation, you asked where Gundham lived. She gave you his address and said she’d call him to let him know you were coming.
Sure enough, the second you got there the front door burst open. You wasted no time carefully lifting the dog out of the passengers seat.
“I patched her up as best as I could, but I wanted to make sure she’s gonna be okay. Please tell me she’s gonna be okay.” You pleaded, already on the verge of tears.
“Come inside.”
You nodded and followed after him quickly. Neither of you spoke as Gundham checked over your work on the wound. After a minute, he gave an approving nod and looked to you.
“You did well, mortal. This hellbeast-“
“Mavis.”
“Excuse me?”
“Her name is Mavis.”
He blinked several times, wondering if he’d imagined that. “You..named her?”
You nodded awkwardly. “I was panicking. It was something to calm myself down.”
Again, he stared at you for a moment before looking back to Mavis.
He cleared his throat. “She will thrive again once she has healed. For now” He got to his feet and guided you into the kitchen. He turned on the sink and turned to you, motioning to your arms, and you suddenly realized how crazy you must look.
Your forearms and shirt were smeared with blood, and you moved to the sink. Gundham disappeared for a minute, and you washed your hands and arms, watching in a grim kind of fascination as the water ran red.
Once you were done, you dried your arms and straightened up. You heard footsteps approaching you, and when you turned around, Gundham stepped through the kitchen doorway.
“Here, you may wear this.” He held out black sweater to you. “Some mortals will make accusations if you traipse around covered in blood.”
You thanked him as you took it, and he turned away from you so you could swap shirts.
The sweater was big on you, falling off one shoulder and dipping just below your collarbones. You rolled the sleeves up until you could at least see your fingers. It was warm and soft, and you smiled as you thanked him again.
He turned to face you again before pausing. He turned on the sink long enough to dip his fingers under it before turning it off again.
“What are you-“
He held your head gently and ran his thumb across your cheek. While he was occupied, you just looked at him. You’d always been fascinated by his eyes. When you first met him, you assumed he wore contacts, but no, his eyes were really like that. You’d heard many people call them strange, but you found them weirdly beautiful.
You found Miu’s words coming back to you.
“How do you feel about Gundham?”
You weren’t lying when you said you’d never thought about it, but now that you were thinking about it, you couldn’t help but wonder, as well.
How did you feel about Gundham?
You felt something brush your leg, and when you looked, you found Mavis sitting beside you, tail brushing the floor as it wagged. You smiled and crouched down to pet her. “Hey there.” You greeted her happily. “How ya feelin’?”You giggled when she licked your face.
“What tribe did you belong to?”
You stared up at him for a long moment, eyebrows drawn together in confusion before your eyes lit up. “Oh! Are you asking if I’ve ever had a pet?”
“I believe that is how the mortals refer to it.”
You smiled and went back to petting Mavis. “I used to have a dog. My foster mother, Hinako, got her on the same day that she adopted me. We grew up together, but she passed away a while back.”
Knowing she was gone still stung, but you had so many good memories with her that you couldn’t help the way your heart warmed. “I wish you coulda met her. I think she woulda loved you.”
Maybe he sensed your sadness, but Gundham crouched down beside you, petting Mavis gently. “I see she was very loved.”
The words were enough to bring the smile back to your lips. “She still is loved.”
Gundham had a soft kind of smile on his face. It was just barely there, but it was somehow the most genuine smile you’d ever seen from him.
“Hey, can I ask you something kind of personal?”
He shot you a curious glance before nodding.
“What happened to your father?”
He paused, hand hanging briefly in mid air before he resumed petting Mavis. “He was slain in a car accident.”
“Oh. I’m sorry.”
He just waved his hand dismissively. “Do not be. I do not miss him.”
“Huh?”
Gundham’s expression turned stony, his eyes glowing coldly. “He was cruel to my mother and I.”
You hesitated, wondering if you really wanted to push, but you wanted to know. You wanted to be there for Gundham. “Was he..?”
You didn’t have to finish because Gundham knew what you were thinking.
“Yes. He was abusive.” He admitted somberly.
Your hand stilled in Mavis’ fur. “...So those scars on your arms and shoulders..Were they from him?”
“So you saw them.”
It wasn’t really a question, but you nodded anyway. He sighed softly.
“Yes, they were his doing.”
You felt tears well up in your eyes, and they slid down your cheeks before falling to the floor. You lunged at him and wrapped your arms around him, effectively knocking him backwards.
He stiffened up, but you didn’t let go, and eventually, he curled his arms around your waist. He patted you softly on the back until your crying died down to little sniffles, and you pulled away, wiping at your eyes.
You smiled bashfully, feeling a bit embarrassed by your outburst. “Sorry about that.”
“There is no need to apologize.” He assured you. “It was..nice.” He murmured, so quietly that you almost didn’t hear it.
You quickly realized that you were practically in his lap, and heat flared in your cheeks. Suddenly, there was fur in your face as Mavis burrowed in between you two, licking Gundham’s face before moving to lick yours too. You burst into a fit of hiccupy giggles, almost falling over from the weight of it as you got up.
You held out your hands to him, and when he took them, you pulled him up with an amount of ease that surprised him.
“You are stronger than you appear.
You raised your chin and grinned playfully. “Don’t mind me. Just the female Hercules.” You flexed very dramatically, and it was well worth it because Gundham laughed. Not the maniacal laugh or that deep chuckle. This was a full blown, unrestrained laugh, the kind that made your shoulders shake and your eyes water.
You just stared at him in complete awe. “Damn.”
At first, he thought you were disgusted by his laugh; then, he raised his eyes to find you grinning wider than he’d ever seen. Your eyes seemed to shine when you smiled like that. They crinkled at the edges, turning into little crescent moons.
“You have a beautiful smile.”
He didn’t even realize he’d said it out loud until you flushed and looked away from him, smile turning shy.
“Th-Thank you.”
He felt his own face reddening, so he quickly changed the subject. “Do you wish to keep her?”
You looked down at Mavis and did something that surprised him.
“What do you wanna do?” You asked her.
To your surprise the fluffy white dog stood up on her hind legs, placing her paws on your stomach, her tail wagging wildly behind her.
You grinned and ruffled her fur, planting a kiss on the top of her head. “I’ll take that as a yes, okay?”
Mavis barked happily, earning a giggle from you and a satisfied smile from Gundham. He always loved seeing an animal go to a good home, and when he remembered the terrified look in your eyes as you held Mavis, he knew she would thrive in your care.
