He wakes up with a huge headache. He can't remember exactly what happened, but he's clearly in an infirmary of sorts now—one he doesn't recognize, and that makes him anxious. Aiden makes an effort to get up. He sits on the bed and tries to gather his thoughts. He needs to figure out so many things. He raises a hand to the side of his head, trying to stop the pain, and only then does he notice someone else there with him.

"Where am I?" he asks, his voice a bit weak. He has a thousand other questions, but decides to start with that one, thinking it's the most important. It doesn't seem like he’s in a hostile place, but he wasn’t sure just yet so he tries to be cautious. He might be feeling weak, but if necessary, he's sure he can fight his way out of there.

on here? just supernatural. but in the past, i've written for merlin, star trek, teen wolf, haikyuu, doctor who, MCU, free!, the witcher, mystic messenger (lmao), percy jackson, and i could continue forever.

i want to!!! so badly!!!! due to my current workload, i'm feeling so burnt out and busy that i've barely mustered up the energy to write anything legible (including fics). so the goal is soon!!!! i love comments, and reread them often. so i want to respond!

6. Angstiest Ending?

i fantasize to feel you like a bullet; it's the only explicitly unhappy ending that i have written, as i'm a sucker for an angst with a happy ending. although my habit of breaking hearts as soon as i have them is an ambiguous ending, it could be read as angsty.

uhhhhhh...a lot of them do... love potion no. 9? it's you i hold onto? keep me in a daydream? and it's you that i want? we didn't get it right, but love we did our best? house song? wait for tomorrow? i still need you, but what's that gonna do?

not really! i've been really lucky! early on, charlotte and i got a few messages from destiel-centric accounts that were being mean (my favourite was someone calling us "hags," very bog-coded). recently i think someone was subtweeting us (sub-blogging us?) and being exceptionally rude, but they didn't mention names, so 🤷 oh well!

9. Do you write smut?

hell yeah; 11 of 32 are rated Explicit; 33.4% so basically a third of all of my fics! big smut fan, me.

i'm open to it, but i never have!

i have not! and i honestly don't know if i'd be a very good co-writer. my way of writing is a little peculiar, and i like things a certain way. but i'm absolutely open to the experience! i love the community co-writing of things like the ES/LS verse that we've done, same with ageswap & adam verses! so i think it would be fun & pray i don't drive my co-writer crazy.

15. WIPs you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

i wrote a 7.2k truth spell fic that i wasn't happy with, so i don't think i'll ever finish it. if you all ever want an excerpt or something, let me know! i have a million others, but off the top of my dome, i wrote a few paragraphs of soulless!sam deciding to kill cas because he's in love with dean, and it would "distract" dean from the task at hand. but it's really hard to write from soulless POV, because i'm such a feelings-forward writer that for someone to have nothing to feel kinda stumped me.

16. Writing strengths?

hmm i think i'm good at a Yearn. i love a dramatic confrontation, but i think i'm best at those quiet moments of introspection/yearning.

17. Writing Weaknesses?

action/fight scenes. it always ends up "he punches...he moves...he jumps..."

18. Thoughts on mixed language dialogue?

sure! although it does drive me a little nuts when there's not a translation at the bottom in the notes, or easily highlightable, so i can move the mixed lines into a translate window. i read a fic recently where one of the two main characters/all of his group could only speak a central european language (vague for anonymity), and all of the c. european bits were underlined like a hyperlink which sent you right back to the top of the fic, so trying to highlight the passages and figure out dialogue was very difficult.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

if we're talking FIRST-first, then high school musical when i was seven years old. if we're talking first knowledge that what i was doing was fanfiction, then percy jackson and the olympians.

20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?

favourite EVER? i've gotta go "house song," just because how proud i am of it. i worked really hard, and i think it comes across. i really love a lot of my fics, though, and am really proud of them!

Do you think they will do a reboot? And how would you feel abt it?

I think there's a chance that we will see some of the Fox X-Men return for Secret Wars, because if Marvel learned anything from No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine making a billion dollars it's that nostalgia sells. I also think it's more likely to be the OT cast (i.e. the Sirs) because Feige is partial to them having cut his teeth on the first X-Men movie, but it's also possible they bring a mix of the old and new trilogy team back (they're going to want to top that Avengers Endgame moment I think, to really rake in the dough).

I expect they will reboot the X-Men franchise post Secret Wars (again, have no idea if they even involve the X-Men in SW at all; maybe they just bring Cap and the original Avengers back and have RDJ play Doom AND Tony Stark lol) and that there's probably a next to nil chance any of the Fox-verse actors will return to their roles going forward. How do I feel about it? I mean it's what I expected to happen when Disney bought Fox so I've had time to grieve lol. I also...don't care as much as I used to, because I fell in love with this fandom due to a very specific set of circumstances i.e. these particular actors in these roles in these movies and I doubt the MCU version will measure up no matter who they cast. Will I watch the MCU X-Men? Sure, probably. Will I dedicate 10+ years of my life on tumblr obsessing about them and writing fic? Probably not. It'll be the year 2034 and I'll still be here reblogging McFassy as Cherik gifsets and lamenting the glory days of First Class and Days of Future Past LMAO.

(I will say that it will be super weird when edits and gifsets start showing up in the cherik tag with new actors playing them. Not sure how I'm going to handle it lol, I already block all the 'fancast' posts...)

Since the Stark Snark™ in my Last Line post seemed to amuse people and I haven't written much this week, you can have a few sentences of context.

For reference, I'm headcanoning this particular timeline branch as something of a mix between AA and the MCU, so the characters are going to skew more AA-verse but events will be more MCU-verse. Shhhhh just roll with it.

(Side note: If you've never watched the Avengers Assemble animated series, do yourself a favor and watch it.)

“Okay, I know we see a lot of weird, but you can’t tell me that’s not a whole new bucketful of weird. Weird with a side of disturbing.” Steve’s eyebrow judges him over the lip of a glass soda bottle. “Not as disturbing as the fact that you can apparently override Privacy Mode on any room in the Tower.” “They literally appeared out of a magical glowing doorway in a place equipped with enough magical armaments it’d bounce Stephen Strange on his bespelled butt in the middle of the harbor if he even thought about trying to bypass them.” Tony waggles a lit blowtorch at him for emphasis. “Your ethical argument is invalid when it’s my Tower being gatecrashed by a genocidal demi-god and what looks like his financial advisor.”

so idk if this makes you uncomfortable but you always word things so nice so I have a question. What do you think about the fact that they whitewashed Wanda from the comics? Not that Lizzie isn’t a great actor! But it’s kind of rude to a number of communities and I just wanted to know what you thought.

hiii, so i’m actually not too well versed in the comics, but from what i do understand from the micsellanion facebook post or dichssed with my friends is that wanda and pierdo are romani jews. correct me if i’m wrong, i’m going out on a limb here !!

i myself am a mixed race woc, who grew up in a predominantly white area. i adore seeing roles being filled by other colored individuals, especially when theirs a kind of backstory these actors are honoring, playing homage to, whatever. i was a late 03 baby, so princess and the frog was my first glimpse of representation in a franchise that geared toward my entire friend group. little aura and her princess tiana costume with a blonde haired blue eyed best friend she affectionately called charlotte was living her best life. (to this day this friend and i still sign cards charlotte and tiana). so i very much understand how important and significant it is for representation and authentically to be carried out in a character.

i don’t know all of wanda’s comic lore, so again, take what i’m saying with a grain of salt, but i don’t believe a lot of her mcu timeline is like… entirely aligned with the comics? like there’s hella billy and tommy lore that was kind of alluded to but happened in a different way i think… i have no idea. anyways, the point is that i think while they should’ve had a romani woman play wanda, that the disconnect from the comics kind of… doesn’t make it okay, but i think there’s just enough space between them that there can be some differences.

people whined for months about halle bailey being ariel. but it’s a recreation, the same way that this newest live action is a recreation not an exact replica. they pay homage to the originals, tell the stories of the originals, but they stand as their own films. ariel being black takes nothing away from the film because she’s a fish that grows legs and what the hell does it matter. i think somewhat of the same could be said for wanda just because marvel doesn’t hone in on those details of her character in any way ?? i could be mistaken !! there’s definitely a divide between the ariel controversy and the wanda debate, but i think a little bit of the same premise can be applied.

a/n - rewatched the spiderverse movies and felt inspired! this is a mix of the sonyverse and the mcu!!

“goodnight, love you,” you tell rafe before hanging up the call. you strip down your zip-up and sweatpants, revealing your spider suit underneath. opening your window, you shoot a web onto a neighboring building, swinging, beginning your nightly duties.

It has been a tame night so far, you would say. helping a little girl get home safely, stopping a couple of robberies, and giving some pre-teens a lesson about fire safety. miguel hadn’t called you in for any missions, so you’d just been swinging around in your universe.

you ordered a slice of pizza (fully in your spider suit) and ate it on the rooftop of a building. no one, not even your boyfriend rafe cameron knew you were the spider vigilante of the night.

you’ve gotten extremely close with rafe over the school year, him being a transfer from north carolina, and you’ve helped him become accustomed to the hustle and bustle of new york city.

so naturally, you two fell for each other

you wanted to tell him about your secret badly, why you would be away from school for a couple of days, and why you would always abruptly hang up on him at night.

at the same time, you knew you couldn’t. telling one person would be the equivalent of telling the entire world.

“we should go get ice cream after school,” you hear his voice, he sets down his lunch tray right next to you. “we should, huh? we haven’t gone on dates in a while.” he smiles at you, grabbing your hand and rubbing your thumb. you appreciated the little touches he gave you throughout the day. “we should have a date at least once a week, yeah? we can explore the city, find different stuff to do,” rafe digs into his food, taking a bite out of his sandwich.

“yeah, yeah, let’s do that,” you smile at him, biting into your sandwich.

after school, you two took the subway, walking around the block until you found an ice cream parlor. you both ordered, rafe ordering a single chocolate scoop while you ordered vanilla with sprinkles. “wanna hang at my place?” you offered, licking the ice cream beginning to drip down the cone.

you didn’t miss the way his eyes flickered.

“uh—yeah, would love to. is your aunt may home?” he asks, looking down at the floor. “yeah, she is,” rafe groans. “I don’t think she likes me,” he pouts and you giggle. “she does! she just takes a bit to warm up to.” you smile at him.

suddenly, the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, and your breathing quickens. something’s wrong. rafe notices, “are you okay?”

“y-yeah…um, I just remembered I left my homework in my locker, you can head to my place—”

“are you sure? you look like you’ve seen a ghost—”

“‘m fine! i’m fine! just, just go!” you shove him aside, running in the opposite direction. you turn back, seeing rafe scratch his head, staring at you.

please don’t follow me. please don’t follow me.

you run towards an alley, quickly putting your backpack on the floor and opening it up. you take out your spider suit and put it on, feeling the material hug your body. you shove your school clothes in your backpack and swing towards whatever is making your senses flare up.

you see it. an anomaly, terrorizing the streets of new york. you see the familiar green uniform, the green goblin. a variant of it. it wasn’t your green goblin, but rather, another universe’s. people flee the streets, hiding in nearby shops.

your attack on the green goblin was a surprise to them. you kicked them right across the stomach and began webbing their torso to restrict movement. thankfully, it worked, you dragged them to a secluded area so you could portal them back to their universe. you tapped on your watch, letting your boss, miguel, know that you’d gotten the job done.

you were so tired. you haven’t fought an actual villain in such a long time. out of all the universes, why’d you have to be in the one that was so boring? after you sent the anomaly back to its universe, you went back to the alley where you’d left your backpack…where someone had stolen it. along with your ice cream. shit. you can’t be in two places at once, right?

rafe still couldn’t be at your apartment after the incident, you thought. it was all over the news, footage of your battle playing out. mr. and mrs. cameron would’ve called him home by then.

they didn’t.

you snuck into your bedroom, quietly opening the window, webbing your way inside, careful to not make any noise. when you made it to the middle of your room, you sighed in relief.

but then you turned around.

rafe stared at you, wide-eyed and mouth agape. he shook his head as if he was dreaming. “what the hell are you still doing here?!” you whisper-shouted. “your aunt may talked to my parents! they wanted me to go home as soon as they heard what was going on but she talked to my parents, convinced them that I had to stay here ‘cus she ‘didn’t want anything to happen to me’” he makes finger quotes in the air, eyes still gawking at you. “I can’t believe you’re the spider-hero I see on youtube. does may know?” his voice suddenly grew. you quickly hushed him, “no! she doesn’t! keep it down!”

you quickly dig through your drawer, finding random clothes. you begin to strip down in front of rafe, not caring that he’s currently seeing you in your intimates. quickly putting on a shirt and shorts, you shove your spider suit inside your closet, along with your watch.

“please, don’t tell anyone about this rafe!” you begged, putting your hands together. “I won’t promise.” “good”

may burst inside, looking disheveled. she immediately runs up to you, checking to see if you're hurt. “no call, no texts, what were you thinking?!”

you bite your lip, immediately coming up with an excuse, “I know, i’m sorry, I got back on campus when it first started happening and everyone there got put on lockdown. and you know how our school blocks phone signals—”

you felt so guilty. may was the only person in your family left and you were lying to her. she pulled back, relief etched on her face. “it’s okay, thank god you’re safe. where’s your backpack?!”

“uh I��lost it…” you reply sheepishly, rubbing the back of your neck. may sighs. you hear sizzling coming from the kitchen and gasping, she immediately runs off. you turn back to rafe, his things already packed. “i’m heading off for the night, i’ll see you tomorrow,” he pulls you in for a hug, craning down to whisper in your ear, “your secret is safe with me.” he gives a polite goodbye to aunt may before exiting your apartment.

“c’mon, we’re going out to eat. i burnt the lasagna.” may chuckles as she fans the pan, your little home smelling like burnt food.

the next day, you’re at rafe’s house. he’s asking you all these questions about your superpowers, and you can’t help but giggle in response to some of them.

“do you lay spider eggs?”

“ew, no, that’s never happened before.”

“how far can you shoot your webs?”

“i’m not sure”

“can I see your suit?”

you chuckle as you reveal your spider suit in your bag. during dinner, aunt may have told you she’s had enough of buying you backpacks, so she gave you one of her old canvas bags to use for school.

your watch rings, and you see miguel’s face pop up. rafe’s eyes widen and you chuckle nervously. “that’s uh, my boss…excuse me for a moment.” quickly exiting his room, you make your way to the nearby restroom to answer the call.

“there’s been a reported anomaly in your universe, I need you to hop on it. he’s from universe 664, and he’s highly dangerous. I can’t believe we just found him. we’ve been looking for him for months.” miguel rambles.

“who is it?” you ask, ears perking up.

"we have his file with a picture on it for reference, it should’ve already been sent to you. when you capture him send him right to hq so we could eliminate him.”

“okay, thanks miguel. i’ll get to it asap.” you see him nod at the other end of the call before hanging up. you sigh before pressing a couple of buttons on your watch to bring up the file.

you couldn’t believe your eyes. the anomaly was…rafe?

you reentered his room, silent.

“you okay?”

no.

how were you supposed to do this?

“yeah, duty calls, i’ll talk to you tomorrow,” you say quietly.

this can’t be right. why was your web fluid…watery? you swear you perfected this batch of web fluid, you even tested it out in your locker during lunch. you kept shooting your webs, hoping it’s just the chemical compound of the new formula and it’ll somehow, become sticker when it clings to the building. your optimism was shattered when your canisters became lighter.

you’ve been pacing around your complex rooftop for the past two hours, thinking about rafe. capturing him and sending him back to his universe would’ve been easier as you still could visit him. you couldn’t get the words miguel said out of your mind.

send him to hq so we can eliminate him.

eliminate him.

you shake your head, laying down on the concrete ledge, looking up to the stars, hoping tomorrow you'll wake up and this mission will just be a dream.

the pressure weighed heavy. you couldn't concentrate, your boyfriend noticed. he furrowed his eyebrows as he kissed you all over your body, rough hands gripping your sides. you shoved him aside, letting out a puff of air. rafe turned his body towards you, gently moving the hair that fell on your face. he calls your name, "hey, talk to me." shaking your head, you turn away, facing your bedroom window. he wraps his arm around your torso, pulling you close to him. he inhales a sharp breath, softly speaking, "i'll be here when you're ready to talk, 'kay?" nodding your head, you stare out into the concrete jungle, closing your eyes.

he knows. he knows that the spider society assigned him as your mission. he knows they'd never make you kill him yourself, so they're gonna make you send him to the society so the other spiders could kill him. how considerate.

rafe felt bad, real bad when he bugged your suit. while you were taking your call with miguel a couple of days ago, he broke into your bag and tweaked your web shooters, causing the formula to become less sticky. it was sick, but he had to do everything in his power to delay you from your mission.

of course, he knew who you worked for. miguel o’hara. that name left a bitter taste on his tongue. they do have history after all. how can a man like him not pay the repercussions of destroying an entire universe, and be looked up by so many others, while he’s villainized? it’s just not fair.

in his universe, he was spider-man. he was a hero. that all changed when you came into his life. he fell for you, hard.

then you fell for him. literally.

when your body was flung off the clock tower, his mind raced a million miles per hour. you were gone. the love of his life. he spiraled, falling into obsession with the fact that you were gone because of him.

deep in his grief, he began wondering the “what-ifs.” using his scientific knowledge, he created technology that brought a hologram of you back to him.

but it wasn’t enough.

he needed to physically hold you, he needed someone with true emotions, not just a ghost of you.

then he discovered the multiverse.

universes where you’re alive, where you’re with him.

he became jealous.

he traveled through different universes, coming in contact with all the different lives you were living.

they weren’t good enough. they weren’t you.

he was relentless, finding every universe you were in, not giving a damn about the consequences. that's when he stumbled upon your universe.

and it was like you never left.

taking the life and identity of your universe's rafe cameron was a simple task for him. he had the same family, the same friends, and the same personality. it was a complete parallel of his own.

he gently rubbed your back while you slept. how could the society do this to you? you told him you haven't been getting that much sleep, so being the good boyfriend that he is, he put you to sleep using his signature method. poor thing, there's so much weight on your shoulders right now.

“miguel, stop calling me!” you exclaimed. you were hiding in one of the restroom stalls, unexpectedly running out of the classroom in the middle of a lecture.

he sharply glares at you through the screen, “you need to hurry on this mission, he’s starting to cause problems in your universe,” he sighs before saying your name, “people are starting to disappear, cities are starting to collapse.”

your eyes widen.

“layla told us if you don’t bring him to headquarters by tonight, your entire universe will collapse,” he replies, abruptly hanging up the call.

your breathing quickens, chest rising up and down. you clutch your shirt, trying to calm yourself.

you storm out of the building, heading towards who knows where.

after long hours of pondering and anxiety building up, you approach the cameron house, getting ready to ambush rafe. seeing him take a nap from his window, you stopped in your tracks.

was this worth it?

killing your boyfriend for the sake of the universe sounded like the unique ultimatum. but what would happen if…you didn't send him to miguel? yeah, your universe would meet its end but…you get to be with rafe. besides, letting the society kill rafe would become an endless cycle. you'd look for him in every universe, ultimately destroying them as well. then you'd become the anomaly, and then you'd have a target on your back.

they'll kill you too.

but at least you'll be with rafe, right?

climbing the rooftop and propping the window open, you sneak inside, tiptoeing to his bed, you hold your watch out, preparing to send him through a portal.

you turn over to his nightstand, seeing his lamp glitch with vibrant colors.

tears brim in your eyes as you put the watch down, and gently wake up rafe.

"hey…" you softly say, gently shaking his shoulder. he turns around, smiling.

"why do you have your watch on?" he mumbles, pulling you closer to him.

you don't respond, instead laying down on the bed, facing him. he smiles and tucks your hair behind your ears. "did you miss me?"

"yeah"

this is the last time you'll be seeing him, anyway.

looking at the wall behind him, colors start phasing in and out.

rafe buries his head in your neck, relishing your scent. you pull away, taking one last glance at him.

it felt like nothing. the world you grew up in was quickly disappearing, but the world you've known to love was still in front of you. you hold rafe's face, pulling him for a kiss as you both disappear into nothingness.

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending? Ooh, it's gotta be this imagine in SPN fandom: "Sam crosses the line." In which he's in love with Dean's girlfriend.

(Sequel to "You are Dean's one exception.")

What the fic you've written with the happiest ending? Well, most of my stories have happy endings. But probably Never Say Goodbye (Dean W. x Reader). It's a soulmate AU, so very rom-com and fluffy, despite all the drama they went through.

Though I could also say the same of the last story in the Midnight Espresso-verse: In Bad Weather.

Do you write crossovers? No, I don't. I've enjoyed reading a few though.

Have you ever received hate on a fic? Yes, unfortunately lol. It's inevitable for as long as I've been writing though.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Oh yes lol. I'm a romantic though, so it's often a mix of fluff, straight up romance, occasionally dashed with angst and/or hurt/comfort.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge. (I hope not!)

Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope, but I've received solicitations lol.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yeah, when I was a teenager just starting out writing, I used to write with one of my best friends growing up. (We're still good friends to this day.)

What's your all-time favorite ship? That's pretty much impossible. 🤣 It depends on the fandom! Nowadays I tend to write for OCs or reader inserts though.

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will? Ooof, nothing recent. But I finally finished And So It Goes, which took me 3 years for some reason. 🙃

Though I do have both a Jason Teague x OC series and a Smallville Clark Kent x OC series outlined that realistically, I probably won't get to. 💔

What are your writing strengths? I've been told I'm good at dialogue and keeping canon characters in character, which is always amazing to hear! I try my best.

What are your writing weaknesses? Action scenes and smut scenes are my biggest writing challenges, though I've been told I do a decent job at them. I know I tend to use adverbs a lot lol (I'm trying to curb that).

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? So I try to minimize use of this, but, I've gotten critiqued (putting it mildly) on this before for two reasons. Admittedly, I've had to revise myself in certain use cases, but also, there are slang words and phrases in certain Spanish cultures that wouldn't make sense to another Hispanic/Latino culture that doesn't use the word/phrase. So sometimes, it's not that it's wrong grammatically, but that it's slang.

What was the first fandom you wrote for? Oh jeezus, probably Chronicles of Narnia fandom when I was like, 10 and brand new to writing. 😂

What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to? Ooh a tough one. I feel like there are so many! I do have a story I had outline years ago now for Steve Rogers/Captain America back in the MCU fandom (which I've written in before). But that fandom is a bit intimidating. 😂

I’m not hyped about the new fantastic four news either. though I think what I kind of hope will happen is marvel doing something like they did in the last mcu spider man movie where we see 3 peter parkers team up.

I think it would be super cool to see the cast from the 2005-2007 fantastic four movie meet with the ones from the newest movie. and have the 2005-2007 Doom (Julian McMahon) meet with the Doom from this upcoming fantastic four film too.

so we have more than one “fantastic four” team and also more than one Victor von Doom in the same movie. that would be pretty epic to see in my humble opinion. (if this really is the case, I still have hope that marvel won’t mess it up, because it sure has the potential to be great.)

I mean marvel did just very recently confirm that all the events prior to the mcu (so… sony’s spider man and fantastic four) are also canon to the mcu, and I doubt they would say that if they didn’t plan to do something with it (they said it after the event of the last spider man movie with 3 peter parkers), especially when mcu is heavily heading towards the direction of multiverse, various timelines, various variants of the same person (character) right now. I mean we basically have 3 peter parkers (from both sony and mcu) and literally a bunch of lokis. so let’s see what’ll happen next.

The only part of the casting I agree with is Ben. It feels like Marvel is playing it extremely safe with casting Pedro, like since Multiverse of Madness they've clearly been aiming for the "soft dad" angle with Reed, probably in an attempt to get ahead of possible complaints about him based on canon? I love Reed Richards to a fault, but he's always been a little bit of an asshole. Not intentionally, and much of that perceived assholeness stems from him being on the spectrum imo but it's there, and ignoring that does him as much a disservice as playing up Tony's alcoholism purely for laughs and then never mentioning it again was to that character--another thing the MCU has done.

The poster, the casting, idk. It radiates a nuclear-family blandness, with a camp overlay used purely for aesthetics that will probably be quite popular with general audiences and leave F4 fans from the comics and old movies and other sources of media quite cold. We are not the audience Marvel Studios wishes to court, they've made that very clear.

I'd love to be wrong about how this will play out, though. Pedro is a gifted character actor when he's allowed to be, the trouble is, studios know too well how much audiences love him as a person, and are too prone to mixing the two to improve audiences' appreciation of a character he's playing, rather than just letting the man cook. 😔

I don't have a firm opinion of the other cast other than: this will be the most money anyone named Kirby has ever made on Fantastic Four, so good on her. 👍 And the Ben casting feels right. I'm outside the Johnny demographic so no real opinion there.

I had read that the baddie for the first movie will be Galactus, which is like leading your football season with the Superbowl? But no one asked me, so... 😅 maybe they have a set up that will make that work, who can say.

I've also read (on reddit, so make of that what you will) that Doom will have a "cameo" in the first movie, but no clue what that means or even of it's true.

I like your idea a lot. I think the Deadpool & Wolverine movie will have a Fantastic Four cameo of some kind, probably. The comic book we see in the trailer next to Wade's head on the desert world is Secret Wars #5, which is a recap of the story so far and how everyone got to where they are--so it's possible the desert world they're all on is Battleworld, run either by future-verse Doom or (more likely) the Beyonder. I do think the movie will include them in some way bc the studio will want to start building hype for that as their next big project, going into the MCU version of Secret Wars.

And ofc SW will have crossovers galore, since Marvel Studios has unfortunately set audience expectations for that being what it's about 😅 so, worst case, they'll turn up between those two films no doubt.

I'd love to see Julian McMahon's Doom encounter a closer-to-comic-canon version, but a thing to know about Victor is that he kills every variant of himself he meets. Like, historically, that's just his thing (it's an expression of his own self-loathing, which is really tragic in a way) ...I dunno if the MCU will carry that fun little trait over, but as a writer I can say it's an easy, low-stakes way of showing "this character is a bad guy and also there is something very wrong with him" so... yanno. I am expecting it. 😁

Sorry for the negativity on this, I'm trying to stay upbeat about it all but so far they're not inspiring confidence yet. We'll see what future developments bring, if nothing else we'll always have fanart and fics and the comics themselves. It's not like this fandom hasn't dealt with bad adaptations before, I think we'll be alright whatever happens.

A brief introduction

Hi. My name's Bobby. (She/her.) You may know me for running my inexplicably widely known Archie Sonic blog Thanks Ken Penders, or for making the game Super Lesbian Animal RPG. Maybe you just know me as a furry artist. I wear a lot of hats!

While it's not one of the main interests I'm known for, I've been a fan of Spider-Man for most of my life, ever since the fateful weekend in 2002 when my dad decided to rent a certain Sam Raimi movie. He passed on his love of the character to me. Spider-Man remains my favorite superhero to this day, even in an age when MCU fatigue is really setting in. My tastes in fiction (and, by extension, my own writing) were surely influenced by the mix of fantastical and relatable elements found in Peter Parker's stories. The way he can go on these adventures swinging all around New York and then be like "shit, I forgot to pay my rent for my hellhole apartment." As my dad put it, unlike a lot of other superheroes, under the mask Spider-Man's just a normal guy from Queens.

I'm not the most hardcore fan, sure, but I've enjoyed plenty of takes on the character across different storytelling mediums. Movies, cartoons, video games, etc. That is, with one notable exception. The original comics. The Earth-616 Spider-Man comics that have been going for 60 years now. Even though I was the rare 21st century elementary schooler with a comic shop pull list, the mainline Marvel universe seemed completely impenetrable to me. I didn't know where to start, and every year I put it off, the backlog only grew larger and larger. I did read the first few volumes of Ultimate Spider-Man in middle school because my local library had them, but that was about it.

Recently, though, being in a Spidey mood thanks to the Insomniac games and Spider-Verse movies, I had a crazy idea. What if I just... read the main universe Spider-Man comics from the start?

I've read plenty of other long comics. Manga series that span hundreds of chapters. All sorts of Sonic and Transformers comics. I read all of Homestuck. I'm a One Piece fan, for Christ's sake. It can't be that hard, right?

Wahoo I've been working on this dude on-and-off since June 2023 when I saw ATSV in theaters!! I'll probably find more things to tweak right after I submit this but I'm tired of looking at him and I wanted him up in time for Art Fight so I'm releasing him from containment 🏃 More info about him under the cut!

Introducing Steven "Seth" McLilliard Stryker, or the Spider-Man of Earth-40712! Also known as the Peacock-Spider or Spider-Lily, he's been his city's "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" since he was 15 y/o. As of now he's been the host to two separate symbiotes--his first being Scourge/Calamity (Scourge is what it went by when bonded to Seth, Calamity is what it currently goes by) and his second/current being Malignant/Goliath. Seth is kinda both Spider-Man and Eddie Brock/Venom in his world--moreso the Sonyverse trilogy Eddie/Venom than anything. Anyways, he's in a polycule with Malakai “MJ” Jeriah-Watson (eventually known as Jackpot), Harvey “Harry” Edwin Leeds-Osborn (still debating on if he becomes New Goblin/Hobgoblin/whatever), Feliciano “Felicia” Hardy (also known as Black Cat), and Malignant/Goliath of course. Prior to them he did date a few other people, notably Gavyn “Gwen” Stacy in high school and Dr. Oliver “Liv” Osnick Octavius (later known as Doctor Octopus and eventually [REDACTED]) in his early college years. Still workshopping names but we're getting somewhere! Also still figuring out his villains--Calamity is meant to be his version of Carnage (although I might still make canonical expies of Peter/Venom/Carnage/etc in this verse, not sure yet), and outside of Doc Ock I've got ideas for Green Goblin and the Kingpin (the latter of which is actually his uncle 🫢). But you can expect most of Spider-Man's regular rogues gallery to show up at some point!

I'm really happy with how he came out! I'm still not super confident drawing humans but fixating on this guy's ref really forced me to push through any anxiety I had! His costume went through a few designs before I got it where I wanted it (a bunch of WIP shots will be shown in his TH gallery), but I think I did ok for my first ever fanmade Spidey design :] In regards to his canon event it's gonna suck so much for him, but I'm going to keep details regarding that a secret for now ;3c All I can say is that post-canon-event he's almost exactly like MCU!Peter after Aunt May's death. Think when he's fighting Green Goblin and he goes to stab him with his own glider, only Raimi!Peter isn't there to stop him,,,

O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of? This may be too obvious, but just listening to that song and reading over the lyrics, my vibe was just...Sephiroth, and then specifically Sephesis. Like, it felt like a flavor of Sephesis during their separation, during the defection--it's like they're in the middle of a dance, dealing with the loss, the betrayal, the separation, the confusion, the devastation of information, and then just the reality of the dark lies crashing down on them. It's as if they want to go back, yet they know they're stumbling forward. They want to hold close, yet they want to just toss each other away. Just, their dance.

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites. Not sure if this was three period, one from each fandom OR three each, three from one fandom each, so I'm going with the first lol. With FF7, it's always been Vincent Valentine. It started superficially because of just, aesthetics and primarily because his english VA in AC being a VA I was following somewhat at the time. But the love for him has just grown heavier and heavier through the years. Dirge was the first FF game I ever got, and ever beat, too. And it's the one I've replayed the most. I just adore his character, in ways that it'd take me too long to list out lol. Best way to summarize is just...his vibe from the inside in, the tragedy, the spooky intelligent badass vibes, his heart, his pain, his dark humor, just, all of it. Uuummm...trying to decide other fandoms to choose, though. I'll be honest, the top two other fandoms that have circled the back of my mind while my focus has been on FF7, feel free to judge, have been Marvel and BNHA/MHA. Though, Marvel I'm fairly disconnected from most new media and really only care for my choice of its classic MCU days. But, with Marvel, Loki was my top favorite. I was obsessed, he was my first character muse I RP'd as, and my time writing as him and investing in the content made of him was very impactful (I don't really follow anything made from Ragnarok on, that's just me, no judgment to those that do enjoy). But his story is fucked up, too, and though it may go over some peoples heads, he did try, he was something more than just a petty, mischievous jerk (he really wasn't petty or jealous to the degree people make him out to be, he was the more balanced 'Odinson' before he went too far doing something that NEEDED to be done, and it led to a devastating truth). I could go on way too long about Loki, so, I'll just leave it there XD With MHA, it's Bakugo. Again, feel free to judge. I'm aware he is an asshole and was very much a bully and needs to be held accountable for that, and I will never excuse his roof-dive comment towards Deku. But I'm of the mind that, for one he's a teenager than can learn and has learned and is still learning from his faults. For two, he can be an ass but that is technically how he's learned to communicate and if people get to know them they realize it's just him being loud and rough to express his critiques, advice, compliments, etc. But most of all, it's his character complexity and growth. I adore him, and I'm not going to apologize for that.

X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom. Soulmate trope, I suppose! I'm not super versed enough to have a list to pick from, but I feel like this comes through a lot, and it's not always just romantic, though that can be appealing! Just the idea that there is someone out there that matches a character, whether it's to counter them, or to meet their energy. It could be enemies to allies, it could be best friends, it could be lovers, it could be a mix! But the idea of them being tied to one another, for better or worse, it just gets me!!
