He wakes up with a huge headache. He can't remember exactly what happened, but he's clearly in an infirmary of sorts now—one he doesn't recognize, and that makes him anxious. Aiden makes an effort to get up. He sits on the bed and tries to gather his thoughts. He needs to figure out so many things. He raises a hand to the side of his head, trying to stop the pain, and only then does he notice someone else there with him.

"Where am I?" he asks, his voice a bit weak. He has a thousand other questions, but decides to start with that one, thinking it's the most important. It doesn't seem like he’s in a hostile place, but he wasn’t sure just yet so he tries to be cautious. He might be feeling weak, but if necessary, he's sure he can fight his way out of there.

My top 10 unpopular opinions.

10. Sevendust is one of the best Metal bands I have listened to I genuinely love Sevendust, but while the band has many fans, some of us can agree that they don't quite get the recognition they deserve, and because of that, several have indeed labeled them as underrated.

They have a great unique sound that is very heavy yet melodic, and they're one of the few bands that haven't really changed their sound all too much, and yet they still come off as great and fresh...that's just me though.

9. Double Dragon (Neo Geo) is one of the most underrated fighting games I have ever played I love the Double Dragon games (most of them, anyways), and this gem for the Neo Geo is no exception.

It's loosely based on the Double Dragon movie (more on that later), and yet it actually does a great job at making the film universe seem very cool, especially as an alternate take on Double Dragon. Beyond that, it's a fun Street Fighter II-esque fighting game, which is ironic because it's published by SNK (Capcom's long-time rival behind The King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown among others).

Definitely a much better Double Dragon fighting game than Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls, and it helps that it was developed by Technos Japan aka the company behind the original Double Dragon arcade games.

8. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is overrated I used to like this movie, but upon rewatch and reflection? I realize just how cringe and obnoxious it was.

Every single character is unlikable, especially Scott Pilgrim himself, and I didn't find it all that funny. It does have a great visual style from Edgar Wright as well as some cute easter eggs for video game fans, but that's not enough to salvage it.

7. Pineapple on Pizza is fine While not my favorite topping of Pizza (I prefer Pepperoni and Meat Lovers), Pineapple Pizza is not as bad as some make it out to be, especially when compared to Anchovies.

6. The old Super Mario Bros., Double Dragon and Street Fighter movies are not the worst The first few live-action movies based on video games pre-Mortal Kombat (1995) get quite a horrible reputation among fans, but as a fan of the games they are based on, I can still watch them.

Yes, they are very loose takes on the classic games, which is largely one of the main reasons why fans hate them, and yes, they're not technically great movies either, but they can be very amusing, especially in that guilty pleasure/so bad it's good way.

I can still let them pass for at least trying to make video game adaptations work, especially since they were among the first examples of the concept. We did get better video game movies, especially the animated Mario and Street Fighter II movies, but believe it or not? We also got much worse examples (such as Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li and the adaptations directed by Uwe Boll).

5. I never got into the MCU's depiction of Spider-Man I love Spider-Man, especially the first two movies by Sam Raimi, but I never really got into later Spider-Man movies beyond them...well, except for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is honestly the best Spidey flick since Spider-Man 2 (I have yet to see Across the Spider-Verse, but I have heard great things).

Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker did get a lot of praise, but I never really liked him all that much. To me, he was kind of a wuss. I recognize that he does mature by the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but while it was nice to see him with both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield on screen, I had already lost interest in the MCU by that time.

If you like the MCU Spider-Man movies? That's perfectly fine.

4. Street Fighter III and Mortal Kombat X are some of the most overrated fighting games ever Some will scream blasphemy since I am a massive fan of both Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, hence my nickname Ryu Kang, but I never got into these particular installments.

They were both aiming to be focused on the new generations of both franchises, similar to Tekken 3, which I felt did that concept much better. The two games get a lot of love, especially among tournament players, but they're not my cup of tea, and I do prefer other Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat games.

3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003) is one of the best incarnations of the TMNT franchise I love the TMNT franchise, whether it'd be the 80s cartoon, the first two live-action movies from the 90s, or some of the video games like the two arcade games by Konami and Shredder's Revenge.

While the 2003 cartoon has a fanbase, it's also one that tends to be pretty underrated, especially in later times. I love how it aims to be darker and mirror the original comic books while still working within the parameters of being a Saturday morning cartoon.

I also have a personal attachment to the cartoon as I used to watch it a lot around 2003-04. Plus, I will gladly take it over later incarnations of TMNT like the Michael Bay movies.

2. Batman Forever and Daredevil (2003) are pretty underrated comic book movies These two movies do get so much hatred, I feel. While neither of them are among the greatest superhero movies ever made, I genuinely feel there was a lot of effort put into them, especially considering that they were victims of heavy studio meddling.

The director's cut of Daredevil (2003) especially salvages that movie, and I would like to see the original cut that Joel Schumacher intended for Batman Forever if they ever plan on releasing it.

1. I prefer Sonya Blade with Liu Kang over her with Johnny Cage Some of you definitely saw this coming, especially if you follow my page, but yeah, I'm not very fond of the CageBlade pairing.

I have already written many times before why I feel this way, but in a nutshell...Johnny annoys Sonya so much, and she only warms up to him whenever she's put in danger and he comes in to save the day. Also, later MK games and movies did a poor job handling their dynamic.

While Liu Kang and Sonya never really hooked up in the canon, the interactions they do have really show that the two get along well, and I do feel the pairing has fan art and fanfic potential beyond what I normally do with them.

With that being said, I don't mind Liu Kang with Kitana either (though recent MK games and movies do a poor job handling them too), and I would be biased and harsh if I said that he deserves only one between Kitana and Sonya.

So yeah, those are my top 10 unpopular opinions. If you don't agree with any of these, it's all good. Let's be civil about it.

These days, the traction inverter, also known as the Motor Control Unit (MCU), incorporates all these functions.

The demand for electric vehicles, or EVs, has increased dramatically in the world recently. The government and automakers’ decision to switch from producing internal combustion vehicles to electric and hybrid vehicles within a few years is one of the factors contributing to the increasing popularity of electric automobiles. The development of lithium-ion battery technology, the accessibility and dependability of high-efficiency powertrain inverters, and the advancements made in engine control and electric motors have all contributed to the accessibility of EV technology and the reduction of range anxiety among users. Electric motors and batteries have produced technological results that have necessitated the development of power conversion systems and motor control strategies that maximize efficiency and dependability.

DC versus AC motors

In electric cars, two main types of motors are utilized:

Motors AC. An AC motor is a three-phase motor that runs at 240 V and is powered by alternating current. AC motors can also be utilized as a generator to replenish an EV’s battery because of their regenerative characteristic. This motor also has the benefit of greater acceleration and smoother operation on uneven surfaces. The primary disadvantage is that it is more expensive than DC motors.

Asynchronous motors, often known as induction motors, and synchronous motors are the two primary kinds of AC motors. Induction motors are dependable, inexpensive, and easy to operate (they don’t require a lot of maintenance). Conversely, synchronous motors have several benefits, such as low weight, small form factor, high power density, high efficiency, and strong low-speed torque.

BLDC Drives. Compared to AC motors, these motors provide several advantages, including faster dynamic reaction times, noiseless operation, greater speed ranges, and more. They are an excellent fit for EVs, which need high power density but lightweight and tiny form factors, because of their extremely high torque ratio about size.

Moreover, BLDC motors need highly sophisticated hardware and software control. AC motors can recover energy from braking and release it during acceleration, although they do require an appropriate DC-AC inverter. This makes it possible to restore necessary battery power while driving normally. Certain DC systems are more costly and sophisticated because they can also accomplish that.

In contrast to AC motors, which can be easily reversed by simply switching the order of the two phases in the inverter, BLDC motors require more complex reversing techniques.

Although AC motors are favored when performance and long-range are severe requirements, BLDC and AC motors are good options for powering EVs. Finding the ideal balance between cost and performance is crucial in this decision, just like it is in many other electronics applications.

Algorithms for motor control

While there are many various kinds of electric motors, we will concentrate on the ones that are typically seen on electric vehicles (EVs), such as AC and BLDC/PMSM DC motors. Therefore, the type of motor and control (open or closed loop) will determine the motor control algorithms utilized in EVs. For the latter to be possible, sensors that can precisely determine the motor’s position at any given time must be present.

One of the most basic forms of BLDC motor control is trapezoidal control. Despite being highly affordable and well-liked, it has a torque ripple issue when commuting.

Typically, sinusoidal control is regarded as the advancement from trapezoidal control. Reduced audible noise, increased torque at lower speeds, and more accurate and smoother functioning are the primary advantages of this control. The three motor windings are driven with three currents that fluctuate smoothly and sinusoidally as the motor turns to achieve these outcomes. Encoders or resolvers can be used to measure the rotor position accurately, which is necessary to provide smooth sinusoidal modulation of the motor currents as the motor rotates.

Because the sinusoidal signal frequency increases at high motor speeds, sinusoidal control, while highly effective at low motor speeds, becomes limited. Efficiency declines and torque production is reduced at high speeds.

Vector Control (abbreviated FOC, for Field Orientation Control) was first created for AC motors and is currently the most sophisticated control technique on the market. The torque in an electric motor is dependent on the stator and rotor fields, and it reaches its maximum when they are orthogonal.

Replicating the orthogonal relationship found in an AC or BLDC motor is the goal of the FOC technique. FOC, or variable frequency control of the stator of a three-phase motor, is a two-orthogonal component. The torque, which is based on the motor speed and the rotor’s position, is one component and the magnetic flux generated by the stator is the other.

Two methods are used by Field Oriented Control to control torque and flux independently:

Direct FOC: The rotor flux angle is computed directly from flux estimation or measurement.

Indirect FOC: The slip calculations and available speed are used to indirectly determine the rotor flux angle.

Using complex algorithms and knowledge of the terminal current and voltages, vector control can be computed when utilizing a dynamic model of an AC induction or BLDC motor. Nevertheless, the application of this technique necessitates a high level of processing resources.

One inherent advantage of vector-based motor control is the capability to control many AC, PM-AC, or BLDC motors using the same scheme. Brushless motors that use the FOC approach can achieve up to 95% efficiency, which is efficient within their maximum speed range. Additionally, because of its accuracy and tight control, the motor speed may be lowered to nearly 0 rpm.

An analogous figure illustrating the control of an AC induction motor can be found in Figure 2. Here, a precise encoder interface provides the position feedback.

 Motor Control Unit: sensor versus sensorless

Because BLDC motors are not self-commutating, they are more difficult to handle and require knowledge of the rotor position and mechanism to commutate the motor. Two more requirements for closed-loop speed control are the measurement of the motor speed and/or motor current and a PWM signal to regulate the motor speed and power.

Absolute position sensing is achieved by BLDC motors by using specialized position sensors to detect the rotor position. Costs increase and there are more wires as a result. By estimating the rotor position using the motor’s back-emf (electromotive force), sensorless BLDC control does away with the requirement for position sensors. For low-cost variable speed applications like fans and pumps, sensorless control is crucial. Sensorless control is also necessary for compressors used in air conditioning units and refrigerators that use BLDC motors.

Position sensors come in three primary varieties:

Hall-effect sensors are inexpensive and simplify designs. But when measured against other sensors, their resolution is poor.

Encoders: they need digital processing and are costly.

Resolvers: the best resolution is achieved at the expense of digital processing.

Motor control unit

An electrical module called the Motor Control Unit (MCU) serves as an interface between the motor (AC or BLDC) and the batteries, which are DC power sources. Its primary responsibility is to regulate the EV’s acceleration and speed in response to throttle input.

An MCU’s primary responsibilities include the following:

Regulate the speed and torque of the motor.

Turn on and off the engine

Turn the motor backward.

Brakes that regenerate energy. Because the back-emf produced by the motor is greater than the DC supply voltage to the MCU, the motor functions as a generator when it is braking. Through the Motor Control Unit, current flows from the motor to the battery as a result of this potential difference.

The Motor Control Unit implements a variety of safety strategies to safeguard EV components, such as:

Overvoltage: this is the result of the input battery voltage going above its bounds.

Under voltage: Should the Motor Control Unit function below the lower voltage threshold, it would draw greater currents from the battery, perhaps leading to a thermal runaway that could cause irreversible damage to the cells or a decline in performance.

Overcurrent: The Motor Control Unit continuously checks the current level and cuts off the battery supply if it detects an overcurrent.

Overheating: similar to the preceding point, this occurs when the motor controller’s internal temperature rises above a safe level.

The more years that passes, the more I keep believing this idea that Hollywood is intentionally making bad decisions regarding movies with main non-cis/POC/LGBT

Like why is it that in the past (like 1980s-2000s) there are good movies with diverse main characters that are praised but nowadays, people criticize such movies as being token, SJW etc. ???

Like even if we blame the scriptwriters, wouldn't there be a bunch of people who comment on the script if it's good or not???

I'm so frustrated at seeing comic and non comic fans criticize too harshly when it comes to MCU movies :/

Me: uhh... Well, Thor wasn't the kind of prince that sat on a throne and solved his people's issue. Like the one time I can remember he was acting as the ruler was during Thor: Ragnarok when he saved Asgardians and tried to find a new home. Before that, it was Odin and Loki disguised as Odin, and even Frigga (from the very little i can remember.... I think?), Post Ragnarok??? He descended into depression (understandable with the things that happened to him which the Endgame...... Made fun of that in the most rude way :/) and from the looks of it, Valkyrie was fixing the problems that came with settling down on a new planet.

Female Thor? You see this??? They are replacing the male heroes to make a soulless copy of them but female!!

Okay, nobody likes to copy a character with a few changes such as changing their gender or sexuality BUT nobody is going to ignore Thor! It just gives us an insight into a girl who has Thor's powers. What's wrong with that? He already has three movies! Cinema is not the same as comics where the actors stay the same age, where you can produce many Thor works along side other alternative Thors as if money grows on a tree or the movie can be made as easily as a comic issue in two months or something! ://

Spiderman trilogy (MCU) had the most horrible script. From the erasure of Aunt May's character as nothing other than Irresponsible Guardian who is constantly hit on by men :/

The erasure of Captain America: winter soldier by showing Tony giving a kid a satellite that can search your information and kill you if the owner choses to do so :/

Erasing Peter's struggles as a working class who tries to balance his life, relationship, secrets and money issues :/

Spiderman's plot in NWH was messy as hell (it just fixed some of the issues that we had with him in previous movies such as him getting help most of the time and doesn't struggle with money). From Aunt May's illogical actions to the "fixing villains" solution that unsettled me (idk if it just me but it was unsettling to see them getting fixed without their consent. I get it, some of them suffered from mental illness and such people in extreme conditions don't want to get treated, it's the defence mechanism talking but some others such as Electro, Sandman and Lizard don't have the same issue as Doc Oc or Green Goblin sooooo it gave me some abuse vibes). Yet, this movie made billions because at the end of the day somethings can make or break a movie such as:

Nostalgia, Advertisement, social media (especially YouTube critics) where people get easily influenced and thus decide to whether see a movie or not.

Which is pretty funny and at the same time stupid to me ://

I hate YouTube critics the most because thousands of people see their videos and it does impact the movie's box office ://

Some of them are like "ehh... It was bad, I regret spending my money on it, don't see it because of this and that"

Then proceeds to see a movie more than two times for the "I want to analyse the movie in the best way". The same mentality goes to audiences :/

They are like: let us not see Eternals (movie) because some of the critics said it was the worst, my money needs to be spend wisely (proceeds to see Endgame, CA:CW, Spiderman:NWH several times without a care about the money)

Sorry it turned into a very looooong rant but I couldn't help myself. Such mindset and issues are really hurting the diversity representations and in return, it will hurt their reviews and box office.

Please let me preface by saying I’m not black; I’m a white-passing Hispanic, so I’ve had what’s felt like representation my whole life. My best friend put it perfectly: Pepa in Encanto was the first white Hispanic I’ve seen in a movie, and it was exhilarating to see that kind of representation. With that, though, please take my response with a grain of salt; I’m not an expert on race in media, nor is it even my minor; I’m simply a person trying to do their best. I hope not to offend anyone, and if I do, please let me know; it’s never my intention.

I’ll be the first to admit I don’t know what counts as a “good” movie anymore; in my book, “good” means “it was entertaining and held my attention.” Can all movies use more representation? Sure! And some do great (I’m thinking the recently-released Single All the Way on Netflix). I don’t know that the Hollywood execs are consciously making bad decisions so much as they aren’t consciously making good ones. They’re upper middle class, white, etc. They’ve always had representation, and they always will. It’s part of that privilege that they don’t know they have, because it’s never something they think about. That’s why Black Panther was revolutionary. I’m hesitant to automatically think the worst of people, and I’d rather think they’re unintentionally being idiots than consciously being dicks.

I’m afraid I’m not sure what you mean about movies from the 80s to the 2000s being criticized today; I haven’t seen that. Yes, all movies have their critics, and if all you’re hearing is hate from those critics, then you’re going to believe that’s all that’s being said about those movies. If you can provide evidence, I’d be more than happy to look into it! As it is, though, I’m afraid I’m not very well-versed in that particular issue.

I haven’t heard much hate about Valkyrie being Queen of Asgard, or a female Thor, and the little I did hear seemed to be squashed relatively quickly by the ever-growing crowd of feminists (and lesbians, and bisexuals, and… well, you get it) who are excited to see these women in positions of power. Again, if all you ever hear are the critics’ hate, that’s all you’re going to believe is being said.

Respectfully, I’m not going to get into the Spider-Man debate. I understand there are people who hated the movies and who probably hate Tom Holland for “stealing” Peter Parker; there are also people for whom Tom’s Spider-Man is their favorite. This is a minefield that I’m not comfortable stepping into. Same goes with CA:CW as far as you’re talking about with Spider-Man’s intro.

Here’s where I’m at with YouTube critics (and all critics in general): if you don’t want to listen to them, you don’t have to. Venom got an awful rating, yet everyone I know who saw it said they loved it. Critics are looking for things that may not be there. They can tell you all they want not to go watch this movie because x, y, and z, but you’re the one with your own money and your own control over it. You don’t have to listen to them. Go see the movie if you want; if you like it, say it! Prove the critics wrong. Critics aren’t the end-all, be-all for movies. They’re people, just like you and me, and people can be wrong.

Here’s an example: I was talking to my best friend about Eternals. She said “oh, yeah, I saw it. I didn’t like it at all.” She did mention something about a sex scene (I haven’t seen the movie yet) and that, more than anything, made me hesitant to see it; because regardless of how she feels about it, she knows I’m probably going to see it anyways. (I may not now, because sex isn’t always a good thing for me and she knows that, which is why she said it.) Notice how she didn’t try to dissuade me; she simply said she didn’t like it, then “hey, if you do see it, be careful; there’s a sex scene in the beginning, kind of a long one, and I know how you are about that.” I said “okay, thanks, I might try it on a day when sex is better for me. Thanks for the warning!” And that was it. You can have the same conversations with critics, even if they are one-sided. As I said before, critics can’t physically hold you and your money captive. If you want to see it, screw the critics and go see it. Either it’s a waste of seven bucks, or you love it. But you’ll never know until you go see it.

I definitely believe race, gender and sexuality—or the lack thereof—in media is an issue. But I also know there’s nothing that I can really do. I can tell everyone I know to go see Black Panther, and to buy it when it comes out on DVD. I can tell them not to do the same for another movie. I can yell it from the rooftops all I want, but at the end of the day, the only person I’m talking to is myself. I’ve found that people typically ignore what others are saying about movies or video games or whatever until they try it for themselves. They may agree with the critic that it was awful, but for entirely different reasons!

We, as people, each have our own unique schema; our little blend of life that’s unique to us and only us. No one else is going to feel exactly the way you do about certain things because they don’t have your schema. Their schema might mean they hate the idea of a new Spider-Man; my schema might mean I love the idea, but can’t fathom the idea of yet another iteration of dark and gloomy Batman. We’re all different, and the only person we can decide for is ourselves. Other people may be able to sway our opinions, but that’s only if we let them.

I have been thinking about this in terms of fiction as part of something that I want to write about the dissatisfaction with fantasy without revolution.

To put it simply, even when we reach for entertainment, we have become unhappy unless the point of the story is to address the inherent flaws of the society of the story. We are unhappy, even when we fantasize.

But, besides me always interpreting everything through fiction writing, I completely agree and I have two levels that I have to address of this in myself. That I address with two main tenants that I try to follow, that you see me use in my conversations with people here on Tumblr.

Be angry about things you can change. Be ambivalent / humorous about everything else. AKA sleep deprivation is real. Don't stay woke.

As upset as a woke person may feel towards me for saying that, I say that with the full expectation of working to change something. I completely agree that everyone should spend their life addressing some great change. There are a lot of problems in the world. Shit needs to get done. But absolutely everyone is a "single issue voter" with only a handful of things they have an educated opinion and commitment about. To fake an educated opinion causes the stress this young woman is talking about, because you're ruminating on variables you don't fully understand and can't change, and you're doing it out a fear of other woke people calling you insensitive, which is just a double layer of peer pressure stress. Changing the world is already stressful. There is no mental benefit to daily stress that the world is not changed.

2) Unless you plan to pay people, what good are you giving people for converting them to your cause? AKA Unionize Wokeness.

For being affiliated with the labor movement, wokeness is one of the most exploitative causes that I've ever seen.

Let's use this young lady's example of going into the world feeling every opportunity is secretly diminished or against her. Staying woke does not lead to Black folks using Black-owned media and elevating the standards of journalism; it just leads to them being hypersensitive to how CNN reports. Staying woke doesn't lead to Black folks fostering new relationships and championing worldwide hip hop; it just leads to them hyper fixating on the mistakes of hip Hop of the last 30 years with no real understanding of how anyone else's using it. Let's sprinkle a little bit of dangerously manic manifest destiny on these minds. I try as hard as I can to be sympathetic and say "I recognize that you were in pain. But what would you like to do to get better?" And the woke mentality says that the best thing that you can do is to continue to mourn the pain. How?

So, look at every example common on my blog:

People upset about MCU castings (something neither I nor they have control over) want me to change my opinion on the casting (seeking my validation, as if I matter) but aren't willing to put in ANY work to introduce me to the alternative actors and actresses they suggest because their priority is to feel "heard" by a random stranger on the Internet than to express a single iota of agency. Also, they have no real suggestions about Wanda's storylines or opinions about her position in the story, either the Infinity Saga or Multiverse Saga, because this issue matters to them because it's a chance to Be Woke about something and not because of any interest in fantasy writing, movie making, or comic books.

These people never knew anything about Romani filmmaking or actors and I would think that that would be more insulting to pretend you know them for clout then to just be unaware. And these people never wanted to learn anything because that would be within their control. They don't want agency, they want to feel Woke by not having control.

During the Johnny Depp v Amber Heard case, Amber Heard supporters would try to diminish my critical questions about the testimonies during the trial because they 1) don't actually watch the trial of the defendant they are supporting, 2) don't actually know the full outline of her allegations against her ex-husband, 3) don't care about how the legal system works, and 4) are willing to ignore things Amber Heard said and did if it interfered with their narrative. And tried to make a court case about defamation of character in journalism about Tweets from fans. Because the issue matter to them because they wanted to stay Woke about women who accuse men of domestic abuse and not because of any actual interest in that particular woman and that particular accusation. Have any conversation with any Amber Heard supporter who kept asking me "Where did you hear that from?" when I quoted the literal trial.

It is more insulting to the issue of domestic abuse to support a person who is obviously faking their accusations, and whenever I would talk to these people about real volunteering in domestic abuse, that's not something they wanted to do because that would be within their control. They don't want agency. They want to feel Woke by having no control.

As a person who suffers from anxiety, I know that it is very tempting to feel that the silver lining of it is that you are always ready for problems. But being anxious, ruminating over problems, is not the same thing as being ready for them. If it was, anxiety would not be a mental disorder. Order to Stay Woke you must approach it from a perspective of assuming you have no control. The average person is not a community organizer working shoulder to shoulder with a national icon on a large civil rights issue. For THAT person, Staying Woke may be a healthy layer of vigilance as they work tirelessly (and dodge death threats and assassination attempts). You are not James Baldwin. If you want James Baldwin's mentality, live his life.

But I've actually stopped and asked why James Baldwin gets away with saying "I don't have a dream job; I never dreamt of labor." when his life was sustained doing fulfilling work that he enjoyed and helped others... And no one has yet to have an answer to that. He just sounded so damn Woke sayin' it.

Episode 1 = Auction day (AD) Episode 2 = Extinction Party (EP) Episode 3 = Tempation Stairway (TS)

Who is Ena

Ena can b describd as an "abstract girl split in half, w 1 blue side n the other is her yellow side!" Each side (emotion/mood, 2 b specific) seems 2 hav their own voic actor credited along with seper8 credits 4 each mood! So far the canon sides r Ena (happy), Ena (sad), n Ena (drunk)! They seem 2 act accordingly: Happy acts happy n optimistc, Sad acts sad n especlly depressd, n Drunk acts confused n dizzy [In the Credits, it would look like thise: Ena (happy) by Gabe V., Ena (sad) by Lizzie Freeman, (drunk) Ena by Sam Meza

4 Episodes 1-2, thy follow thise pattern exctly! So we cn expect wht 2 see from them, n each voice actor is creditd accordngly as seper8 b all a part of Ena

On epside 3, Ena is seen as actng diffrnt!! She's suddnly less predictabl! I say thise bc Suddenly, her voic Actors r not stuck 2 Only their sides. Thise is also emphasized when looking at the credit list! No longer is it "Ena (happy) by Gabe V., Ena (sad) by Lizzie Freeman" it's now jst "ENA by Gabe V. and Lizzie Freeman"

Happy's voic can sound STRESSED n sad, Happy can tlk w Blue's side in mor control n Sad's voic can sound Really happy n optimistic. Somth's Diffrnt n Not The Same

Temptation Stairway Summary

Skipping 2 my point, The summary of the episode Temptation stairway is tht Moony and Ena have a bet 2 race 2 the Great Runas! The Great Runas, can grnt u any wish accordng 2 Moony n som of those Ena passes by on the wy. The wager, is tht "whoever reaches the top of the Great Runas n makes their wish 1st, has 2 pay the debts of the loser" (yes it’s phrased like that) As Ena journeys thru, The DIFFERENCES between Ena Temptation Stairway and Ena Extinction Party n Below, is mor obvious as the epsde progrsses, even 2 wher Happy's voic actor is the 1 screamng in agony 2 jst get murdered already. The Episode ends w Moony beatng Ena (but it's 100% possibl it can be the other way arnd, that ENA Beat Moony, b thats somth I'll discuss in a bit L8r). Moony splits in half, revealing that according 2 her, "she wished 2 be skinny" n a humanoid coms out of her previous form. As 4 Ena, Her blue side slowly dispprs n its not answrd why.

Theories so far, are:

Moony wished 4 Ena 2 b happy (or 4 her sad/blu side 2 go awy. 4 wht reason can b eithr wholsom or 2 Moony's advntge [like so she "doesnt have 2 deal w Sad Ena"]) - b if Moony wished 4 Ena 2 b happy/b rid of her sad side, tht wld mean perhaps she lied about wishing 2 be skinny (her new humanoid form may be how she is "paying her debt 2 the loser"). Unless the Runas can grant u more than 1 wish.

Ena ws the 1 who wished her blu side awy, whch is a little depressng tbh

If both the above r tru, it may b possibl bc it wsnt clarified (afaik) tht the great runas can only grant ONE person a wish (or more). I think we only get tht implica8ion bc we see 1 (open) door while in the distance, ther r more doors tht look like their eyes r closed. We hav 2 remembr Moony said "whoever makes their wish 1st whch means Ena n Moony can totlly mke wishes @ the sme time

Somhow, turning pure yellow/only happy is how Moony is payng her debt 2 Ena(??) (opposite 2 the 1st theory)

OR If Ena won the race, it can even b possibl 2 consider tht Ena did not make ANY wish, n her debt 2 pay 2 Moony is her sad/blue side removed (I do not subscribe 2 thise) 

This info that was brought up 2 me is high evidenc that Moony won the race, n it explains how Moony surprises Ena whn Ena arrives. “I’m The Best and you’re the worst! I wonder who got the hair chest?” said by Ena, is a direct reference 2 a phrase usd by kids when they lose that goes “First is the worst, second is the best, third is the one with the hairy chest.”

While thers no canon explan8ion 4 how Ena herslf is how she is, she mkes very intrstng n almst good accdntl Sys Represent8ion 2 me! They even show cofronting rlly well! I headcanon Ena as a system bc of the accidentl system!rep, but it explains 2 me y n how she switches! she has triggers 4 when she switchs 2 a diffrnt side, etc!

Ther hav been theories about Temptation Stairway in the past (before the episode cme out) wher ppl try 2 explain y the trailer Looks Like Tht. Besides theorizing abt the introduction of a new forme (I'm ok w just calling it Scared/Anxiety 4 now until 4rthr notic), 1 of the theories ive seen is tht Temptation Stairway's new introduced forme is due 2 being something akin 2 being "integr8d" (probably by force, accordin 2 the OP) (in other words, all her sides merge in2 one) n Ena being devast8td abt it

While tht theory is now DEBUNKED, bc the new forme clearly did not come out bc of being One Single Mind now, the "integr8ion" part of tht theory is unfortun8ly a littl tru

What is Integr8ion?

Integr8ion is not inherently a bad thing. In systems, ther are 2 definitions: "the breaking down of barriers 2 form healthy multiplicity, n then healthy communic8ion n less amnesiac barriers" and the othr, n mor FAMOUS definition bc its the oldest 1, is "final fusion"

Fnal Fusion is when all the members "fuse/merge" 2gether until ther is 1 single mind left. While not necssrlly a bad thng, final fusion n ther4 "integr8ion" is a scry thing 4 a lot of systems 2 talk abt, because in the history of Treatment, Final fusion is uslly somthng forcd on2 systems 4 the longest time :^(

Very valid 2 hav final fusion as a goal, b showng it as a desire n end goal is uslly seen as a sad n even scry thing 2 promote accdntly or not in media, bc of the previous traumas in the medicl/therapy world of system treatment etc

What's Worse. is tht if we apply the Ending 2 Temptation Stairway to the System!Ena Theory, thts wht hurts!!!

Scrolling back up 2 the possibl theories of who won the race and wht happened aftr, Either Moony or Ena wishing 4 the blue side/Sad Ena 2 go awy is rlly painful!

B I'll be honest, thts a RLLY biased n personal opinion i hav!! I've seen ppl think its rlly wholsom altho a bit Sad, tht the blue side disappears. I've seen ppl think its rlly sweet esp if it was Moony who mde tht wish

BSCLLY If I were to hold on2 the System!Ena headcanon while watchng the Temptation Stairway episode, its Hurtful, not rlly bc of the implied Integr8ion of Sides, but bc most top theories r that the blue side disappeard on Purpose either from Moony or Ena wishing her away or involvng the debt! It's like asking 4 ur sibling irl 2 Disappear and cease 2 exist. it's scary n rlly sad esp whn the audienc can c tht Sad, Happy, n Drunk cn almst b seen as their own persons n mite even b abl 2 interact w each othr (as seen by the many fanart of Happy n Sad having their own seper8 forms)

Ther's no name 4 it, som call it the Enaverse, b just so it dsnt get confusd w other definitions (like, u wldnt call it the Marvel Cinematic Universe theory, the MCU is jst wht it is) I'm gnna call it the Multi-Ena theory! Bsclly, there's mor than 1 Ena in thise universe. But I'll get in2 a sub/partner theory tht is also possibl: ther is mor than 1 enaverse n somhow u may or may not b abl 2 travel between them

Part 3: The Multi-Ena theory

Something interesting I noticed was that the shepherds says “another ENA troublemaker?” Which definitely means more than one ENA/person has been there before.

(I blockd out the rest of the commnt not bc it ws bad, b i wantd 2 focus on this part of the commnt, but thise commnt will come up again L8r)

Not connected 2 System!Ena or the integr8ion issue I mentioned earlier, the multi-ena theory seems 2 b 1 of the top suggstd theories bc of many thngs! Bsclly n in short, thise theory believs tht in the series (or Enaverse), ther is multipl ena's! So fr i havent seen a post tht RLLY went in2 depth on thise so here is my attempt!

Evidence:

In Temptation Stairway, Gabe n Lizzie Freeman r all creditd undr the sme nme, just as "Ena" (mening thise is a completely different Ena from the past)

Again, as said in my summry 4 Tempt8ion Stairway, thise Ena acts compltly diffrnt n is not follwng the sme "pattern" or rules as Ena did in Episodes 1-2! (Read above in my summary section) Either ther r stuff we've missd between Extinction Party n Temptation Stairway, or thise is a diffrnt Ena entirely.  I'd hav 2 sy prsnlly tht I'm leanng 2wrds the latter bc of how the VA's are crdtd. but if ur not convinced, let me continu:

When we meet the Shepard in 7:52 of the episode, they say (verbatim) "Arghh... Another ENA trouble maker." which implies there r more than 1 Ena's

9:08 - 9:19 when Ena jumps in2 the "Holy Code" where we head undrwtr in2 a sea of diffrnt doors, we see floating Ena models (n the comment section seems 2 gravit8 2 callng them "dead bodies") (Honorary mention: You'll notic they glitch in2 Mannequins if u pay attention 2 them). This piec of info is Direct Evidence 2 the multi-ena theory, bc ther r Explicitly mor thn 1 ena's on screen! wht's concernng n unanswrd tho, is y do they glitch in2 mannequins? Does tht mean all the mannequins we sw on screen in the begnng of the video (n onwards) were all previously an Ena? Is it only an Ena tht can transform in2 a mannequin or cn othr chrctrs also become mannequins?

Not the strongst evidenc b i'll input it anywy: Ena's Action boxes (Like when she receivs or gives items) spell her nme her as ƎNA (with a backwrds E). The thing abt thise 1 is tht we can't compare it with Auction Day n Extinction Part bc they don't have any action boxes. BUT What we CAN compare is how she is spelled in the dialogue boxes of those speakng in diffrnt languages AND in the Credits! In Episodes 1-2, She's Spelled as Ena with this captialis8ion. In Temptation Stairway the dialogue and credits consitntly spell her as ENA in all caps. May or may not allude 2 her being diffrnt, b i will admit this is the most Strechiest piec of evidnc. Tru or not, I'd like 2 refer 2 Tempt8ion Stairway ena as TS!Ena or ƎNA, prsnlly 2 differenti8 her frm the othr episodes

Pronounci8ion: BUT 2 build on the above evidence, In the beginning of the episode, Moony DOES pronounc Ena's name in different wys a lot, startng w I-NA (ai-na), ENA (ehna), n finally JENA. And this isnt new! She’s been doing it sinc Auction Day (ee-nah/ii-na) n Extinction Party (ay-nah). Thise may or my not sggst that perhaps Moony's inconsistancy is bc these othr pronunci8ions or names cld b of other ena's she's met in the past w similr or diffrnt preferences! I’d say because of her constant switchng in the beginning of Temptation Stairway, it would lean 2wards that she may know different Ena’s @ once. Otherwise, c the Multi-Enaverse theory below

Note: Every othr charctr besides Moony (So far; Merci and the Shepard) Pronounces Ena as ehna (or ehna) so it might be that perhaps Eh-na is the universal way of pronouncng Ena?

Conlusions/thghts on this theory: I prsnlly like thise a lot!! It makes Enasonas Very Possible, b also tht any interpret8ion of Ena cn b corrct or possibl! It knda saddens me tho bc im not rlly sure if we'll ever return 2 the Ena we're used 2, I wldnt rlly want 2 b stuck w/o Sad bc I thnk her role is rlly neat n can b importnt, b im biasd. I also rlly subscribe 2 thise theory bc it means whtvr happend 2 TS!Ena ds not hav 2 be permanent in the long run; Again litrlly the only thng keepng me from gettng supr upset abt the ending of Temptation Stairway, is tht the prev ena’s r not the sme n wld possibly not do thise, or tht ther r othr ena’s out ther besides THISE episod 1, who wld nvr do tht, etc

Part 4: The Multiple Enaverses/Multi-Enaverse Theory AKA The Alternative In Defense of Moony Mispronouncing Ena’s name over and over

An alterntve 2 the Multi-Ena theory, is tht there is MORE thn 1 Enaverse! So bsclly, a multiverse theory. Primarily thise my explain Not jst Ena's sudden Shift in how diffrnt she is in thise episode b may also explain how Diffrnt Moony is actng in thise episode 2. While thise isnt the top theory i prsnlly subscribe 2 (sinc ther isnt explicit evidence besides it bein an explan8ion 4 Moony n Ena's weird/diffrnt behavior), it DOES open a lot of doors 2 intrstng things 2 thnk abt!

Bsclly Moony keeps mispronouncing Ena’s name a lot (in Tempation Stairway) n its Really Rude, esp consdrng she’s always said it properly (As in @ least 1nce in an episode n not switchng multiple times) b4! so 2 Explain her Sudden change in behavior, this is actlly a Different Moony, besides a different Ena. this is a whole different universe/timeline!

LIKE If not multiple Ena's, The different Loca8ions in Ena cn probbly b traversible across dimensions! The Holy Code may b the door 2 diffrnt enaverses. The Shepard's garden cld b an interdimensionl place tht is singular n deals w diffrnt beings passing thru! While i dnt hav mch 2 sy on thise, its RLLY Interestng 2 thnk abt

Like the Multi-Ena theory, thise also opens the doors 2 enasonas being vry possibl :^) Som ppl's evidences r all involvng Moony besides how Ena's rlly diffrnt

The Great Runas is actlly a play on the "Run As" Command! I'm not very Smart engh 2 break thise down vry well, b bsclly w all the allusion 2 "codes" n the Blood ID looking like a Chip, The Great Runas being abl 2 grant u wishes makes a lot of sense! This ws brought up 2 me from a friend (@ambercard​)!

like its a command line. so then the great runas being able to grant wishes makes sense if its digital world like all the code stuff says Allows a user to run specific tools and programs with different permissions than the user's current logon provides.

its possible using the blood id akin to using the run as administrator command since idk their name but one of the people ena met said the blood id didnt seem like her which is like. if she isnt administrator then it would make sense that using that command wouldnt match who she is

The Enaverse is all a computer code of some sort- most probbaly a game! AKA: This is a digital world

... If we were too treat this world as a video game this would make more sense since different play through bus and all that. Oh god this feels like a fnaf situation, taking a video that just wants to be a video and turning it into a big serious thing

Going with the whole ‘there are multiple enas representing the player’ theory, perhaps this ENA realized that she’s in a video game and isn’t taking it too well? But the game is kind of glitching out because of it.

My personal theory is that this Ena is possibly 'broken' in some manner. -Moony either doesn't care or dosen't realize that Ena's voices aren't matching the personalities anymore. -The grey personality appears to come out when Ena gets too stressed out. Notably the transformation involves the happy half turning into static and exploding out, erasing Ena's face in the process. It also appears that some physical trauma (in this case, Brick Frog kicking Ena) is necessary to exit the grey personality, unlike the previously seen 'blackout' personalities which can possibly be switched by the other personality exerting themselves (in the auction episode, Ena enters her sad blackout/depressed personality, then switches to Happy!Ena, who apologizes to Moony about her depressed outburst). -Moony's hole is capable of closing to hold things, and she also knows how to skateboard. -Judging by Ena's reaction, Moony's transformation at the end is weird even by this universe's standards.

Shun /x/ Yuki, for completely biased reasons. Also it’s just not my kind off dynamic you know and I can only see that as platonic. Honestly, to me their relationship is even quite big brother and little sister-esque so pairing them up is just weird to me as well.

Also everything adult/minor. So things like Haya//Jun also are a “nah” from me. In this particular case, Jun is a mother-figure for Akira to me which makes the ship pretty uncomfortable for me honestly.

D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t (again: be nice)

Eh....canon So//rina so to speak? Like I don’t hate So//rina on its own, I still love the ship and their dynamic.

But I stand by my opinion that they were handled awfully in canon and that it was completely butchered.

Tumblr mainly is responsible for me not bothering to check out things in the first place. But I honestly don’t know anymore which ones that were.

MCU kinda. Though I still have to catch up with a huge majority of the movies. Also I actually watched through Steven Universe’s Finale thanks to tumblr.

1. .....A little bit more variety maybe? Like, don’t get me wrong, everyone is allowed to do and ship what they want.....but sometimes it just feels stale seeing the exact same line up of ships everywhere. What also just makes it a bit more troubling for me personally that things that step out of said line up have a much harder time to be accepted honestly. It’s like it’s unwritten law in this fandom to stick to the particular line up in this fandom sometimes it feels.......and sometimes that just frustrates me

2. A bit more appreciation for rarepairs and minor characters maybe, MAYBE

3. Stop bashing on your opposing ships. Stop making a war out of So//rina and Sou//Megu. You’re free to dislike either of them but be a bit more respectful ! (And don’t drag Taku//Megu into it)

I really wish for Shokugeki to end open-ended in terms of pairings, honestly. It’s a very unpopular opinion, I know but I feel it’s just the most peaceful solution.

Also most “ships” have barely got much true, canon development so for many it would be a quick Snapshot-Getting-Together anyway and honestly? They deserve better than that.
