[Secondary Moderator, just call me Mary Sue Hunter Zero, back again this time with a pretty big catch. An OC/Fanfic that's pretty long, drawn out, boring, canon breaking and shitty. And from DeviantArt. Let's get started my dudes. As always, anything not in brackets is the OC info taken from the author.]

[Anyway, let’s get this show on the road. Since my cohort Sonico isn’t too versed in the Mega Man series, I’ll take over for this round.]

(S: Though I will be here for some history lessons and further torture.)

MMX fancharacter: Solid - Complete Character Sheet

[Solid. Not the worst name, I suppose.]

PRECEDING NOTES

[There gonna be a test at the end?]

There is a distinction between consciousness-copying and brain-uploading. Brain-uploading means uploading the entire person; consciousness, memories, etc. Consciousness-copying is merely harnessing the consciousness and nothing more. [That’s not in the X series, my dude, what?]

MMX Command Mission and the Elf Wars (Consequently, MMZ) do not take place within the same timeline. MMX Command Mission leads to a pseudo-ZX where human-reploid equality is slowly reached without the chaos that was the Elf Wars and MMZ. In this timeline, the Elf Wars and consequently, MMZ onwards never happened. [ZX literally cannot happen with the Zero series, excuse me? Also, a human Reploid cannot exist because the idea behind Reploids is to make them human like. There’s no point to combine them. There are humans with altered DNA, ala Ciel, but continue.]

In regards to the pseudo-ZX ending, the equality between both species were achieved using the human robotization experiment (To make robotic parts for humans) and the data the professors got from Solid, enabling them to create reploids who will live for as long as the average human. [Calm down Eggman, this ain’t the Archie comics. Reploids are robots so they’d last as well as they were built. And maybe tell us about Solid first, yeah?]

According to headcanon, MMX4 is at least 20 years after X3, X7 is 10 years after X6, and the time between X7 and X8 is 7 years. According to canon, X5 is several months after X4, and X6 is three weeks after X5. [How is this info relevant?]

As for MMX4, it proceeded differently. [Oh boy changing canon gets you no sympathy for me.] Repliforce disarmed and then united with the Maverick Hunters who defeated Sigma. [THE ENTIRE PLOT OF X4 REVOLVES AROUND THE OPPOSITE OF THIS] But they came back to be greeted by the humans announcing that after the Sky Lagoon incident, the number of reploids will be reduced, starting from retiring the whole of Repliforce. [That’s fucking stupid, Magma Dragoon, who caused the Sky Lagoon colony to crash, was working for Sigma, he was clearly acting separate of Repliforce and was classified as Maverick.] Repliforce itself rebelled, and decided to create a world of only reploids through genocide. [REPLIFORCE DOESN’T EVEN HATE HUMANS. And that’s fucking edgy, really? Genocide?] Horrified by this, Iris defects to the Hunters and survives X4. However, Colonel and General do not. [The Colonel and General were nice people who were wrongly accused of the Sky Lagoon incident. They left Earth to from a colony of only Reploids so they could live in PEACE.]

In regards to Sigma's progression in this universe:

[Here we fuckin’ go.]

Sigma used the chaos caused by the virus to kickstart his own agenda in MHX. [Maverick Hunter X (PSP) was intended to restart the series canon alongside Mega Man Powered Up. MHX has too many inconsistencies with the original X series.] But over time, the virus consumes him. [The only correct statement so far.] Sigma didn't get infected at first, but eventually he got infected. However, instead of succumbing to Wily's possession or outright shooing him out of his body, the two decided to cooperate. [What.] This is why Sigma kept coming back; Wily kept rebuilding him. [Wily is fucking dead.]

However, after cooperating in X2 and X3 (Wily rebuilt Sigma after X1, X2, and X3), Sigma shooed Wily away because his cooperation with Wily wasn't giving him what he wanted. Wily left him anyways because he wasn't satisfied with Sigma losing to the Hunters twice after their cooperation, and decided to go convince Zero to obey him, believing that Zero will lead him to victory. [WILY WAS AN OLD MAN WHO WAS ALIVE OVER 100 YEARS AGO HE’S DEAD] That's why Zero got his nightmares prior to X4, and not, say, in X2 or something. And as for X4, Sigma masterminded it all on his own. [That’s not how Zero’s nightmares worked you hack and he didn’t suddenly decide to fight X in X4, either.]

Sigma was completely destroyed in X5 (Sigma was rebuilt before X5 by some remnants of the Repliforce), along with all semblance of his personality. [Repliforce was long gone by X5.]

Gate found Zero's remains (Which had absorbed the virus, but Zero didn't end up awakening), and Wily convinced Gate to work with him like what happened with Sigma. [HE’S. DEAD.] But Wily didn't mutate Gate's electronic brain into a virus, unlike what he did to Sigma, instead convincing Gate to build him a physical body, hence Isoc's existence. [This is shit. All of it.] This results in Gate developing the Nightmare virus, which is basically a variation of the Maverick/Sigma virus with a different name and a physical "syringe" to infect reploids with. [THE NIGHTMARE VIRUS WAS A MUTATION OF THE MAVERICK VIRUS AND THAT’S IT. Matter of fact the “Nightmare Virus” doesn’t exist, the Maverick Virus mutated into the Zero Virus. “The Nightmare” was a series of unnatural anomalies on the planet. The Nightmare Virus is from the Battle Network series, you hack.] Isoc/Wily convinced Gate to rebuild Sigma's body for Wily's purposes, but Sigma/Wily's new body was unfinished by the time X and Zero confront Gate. [D.E.A.D.]

After X6, Wily, in a copy of Sigma's body, started calling himself "the Professor", content to be able to have his own body and his own identity instead of sharing a body with Sigma, or inhabiting the less-powerful body that was Isoc. At this point, he was free to get X's data to destroy him and "finally defeat Thomas Light", and get Zero's data to reclaim him. [All of this is based on the fact that a DEAD character from 100 years ago is alive, what does that tell you?]

In X7, Wily's "Sigma" body was completely destroyed, and Wily's consciousness left to wander around to infect any infect-able reploids. [Wily was a human, he literally cannot do any of this.] However, between X7 and X8 (MMXP), [There is no in between ‘Mega Man X-Treme’ game and I will not acknowledge your hack fanfiction.] Wily's distant relative, Rosa "Rho" Wily meets up with Zero. [Adding family members to canon characters, get fucked.] Given that the (currently-passive, which means not infectious) core is inside Zero's electronic brain, she communicated with Dr. Albert Wily and convinced him to move on to the afterlife, effectively eradicating the Maverick virus out of existence. [What the actual fuck.]

Then, if Sigma was completely dead after X5 and Wily had moved on to the afterlife before X8, why did the X8 reploids go maverick? Where did Sigma come from in X8? [None of the Boss characters in X8 were Maverick.]

Sigma, in X8, was simply a puppet leader rebuilt by Lumine, and manipulated into believing that the New-Gens are his "children", so that Lumine can use him as a puppet leader to mask his true role in the rebellion. [The can technically be called Sigma’s children as he himself reveals all of the X8 New Generation Reploids have his DNA within them and can literally become Sigma; Hence: Copy Sigma.]

The Maverick virus is Wily's consciousness, digitized. This is why every robot infected with the virus goes insane; it was the result of the struggle to keep their body and get Wily's will off them. [NO IT’S NOT FUCK OFF] It was inside Zero, because Wily wanted to use Zero as his manservant to continue his purpose of "defeating Thomas Light". [Second correct statement] But Zero was so uncontrollable that Wily decided to use Zero as a "robot body" instead. [He sealed him in a capsule, not to transfer his consciousness.] The virus left Zero when Sigma knocked his head crystal, giving Zero a chance to live as himself. [Third correct statement.] Zero "awakened" in X5 after too much exposure to the virus because Wily finally got to him and convinced him of his true purpose. [In canon, this is the noncanon route to the bad ending. So it’s wrong.]

GENERAL DATA

[AND WE’RE JUST GETTING TO THE OC]

NAME: Solid [Not bad, like I said before.]

SERIAL NUMBER: WLC μ-x-0 (Wily Light Collaboration Mu-x-0) [Wily and Light haven’t collaborated IN YEARS. BEFORE THE ORIGINAL MEGA MAN. And Light especially wouldn’t make a broken robot.]

SPECIES: Brain-uploaded reploid with broken limiters. [The fuck?] As a result, her body is built to accommodate the massive energy from the human consciousness and therefore more durable than most reploids. [I’m sorry, what the fuck?] The energy, coupled with the broken limiters grants her high defenses and massive raw power. However, fighting eats away at her lifespan. [So she’s Ray from Mighty Number 9.]

ALIGNMENT: Chaotic Neutral [FUCK Here we go.]

WEAPON/S: Claws (main), [Ugh.] martial arts (other main, used when claws don’t work as well in the situation) [Mainly Chinese], Chinese dao (backup). [The Fuck, martial Arts?]

(S: HOLD THE PHONE HERE FUCKERS, IT’S HISTORY TIME.)

(S: This is a Chinese Dao. It is technically a broadsword, but it is considered one of the four traditional weapons of China. The other three are the qiang (spear), jian (sword), and the gun (staff). Records of its existence date back to the Shang Dynasty, China’s bronze age. Essentially, Solid is using a single-edged antique sword in a world where her enemies are not only covered in metal, but weapons made from lasers are common. Long story short, she’s an idiot.)

Main weapons are backed with brute strength coming from the energy originating from human consciousness. [WHAT DOES THAT MEAN] She lacks a variable copying system or a copy chip, [The only OP ability she SHOULD’VE had.] and can only utilize the elements upon gaining new weapons from defeated Mavericks (Same/similar moves, different element). [So you DID play the Zero series.]

She can't gain any other powers/be upgraded by the Maverick Hunters because her body is different; it's her robotized human body, [Fuck off with that Sonic shit, the Archie comic crossovers already sucked shit.] with a few twists to accommodate her human consciousness energy, and therefore, her biology is too different to be upgraded; they can repair her fully, but can't upgrade her. [IF THEY CAN REPAIR HER FULLY THEY MUST BE ABLE TO UPGRADE HER] Therefore, she is stuck with her brute strength and had to figure out how to utilize it to a maximum and think of creative ways to use and control it.

CREATOR: Two professors from the Light and Wily families [THE REASON LIGHT AND WILY CREATED THEIR ROBO FAMILIES IS BECAUSE THEY COULDN’T HAVE REGULAR FAMILIES. On Wily’s side, Bass was a combat robot, but he created Reggae because he was lonely. And that didn’t work out.]

BIRTHDAY: 21 September (Human), uploading process began a few weeks before Lambda's success is verified, at 20 years old (Sometime in the beginning of December), date of completion unspecified [Are you telling me no one logged whatever procedure she went through?]

CURRENT CHARACTER STATE

Armour: Black Devil armour, [Crawling in my armor. These malfunctions, they will not repair.] a dark blue-and-black set of heavy armour meant to accommodate her fighting style and missions. It will later be modified to make the Genbu/Black Tortoise Armour (It looks the same, though), that controls her energy output capabilities; decreasing her offense and increasing her defense to slow the deterioriation of her body. [I THOUGHT SHE COULDN’T BE UPGRADED]

Rank: Special A (Member of the 9th Special Forces Unit) before retirement [What happened to chaotic neutral? And fuck off, X is classified as a B-Class Hunter, what has this character done to earn A Rank?]

Social status:

A person of few associates outside of her unit, due to her introversion and shyness; [Mar Rei Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue] most of the time, she wouldn’t talk unless talked to, and she tends to keep conversations short.

People know her name due to her position, but they don't know anything much outside of that. [Mysterious, amirite?]

She is regarded highly by her superiors as an officer due to her near-unquestioning obedience and compliance to the law; they have no problems assigning her to jobs no one would willingly take. [That is literally what X, Zero and Axl do. The tough jobs. And Green Biker Dude. Rip that guy.]

Current Character State – Opinions on Story-Related Issues

The opinions stated below are kept to herself and people close to her, due to their controversial nature in-universe.

(Assuming the mavericks aren’t infected, instead being “freedom fighters” [The ‘Freedom Fighters’ were still threats to humanity and Reploids, thus, Maverick.] with a cause (See: Repliforce (X4), Lumine (X8), The Rebellion (XCM))

Solid knows what she's doing is "heartless" because she's maintaining the flawed status quo because it benefits her. [Protecting the innocent?] However, her whole life is at stake, being a long-time maverick hunter. [Maverick Hunters aren’t the fucking Mafia.] So she knows it is, in a way, morally wrong, but it's for the sake of survival... The Mavericks are doing morally wrong things (Endangering citizens in their fight for freedom) [EXACTLY] for their own sake too, so she feels they have no place to call her out, like she has no place to call them out. It’s a struggle between government task forces who keep the peace for better and for worse and freedom fighters who cause chaos, endangering civilians for the sake of the greater good. [Their ‘Greater Good’ 9 times out of 10 is Sigma’s agenda.]

In the end, to her it's just a struggle between elephants who don't want to lose their feeding grounds, with the helpless smaller animals caught in the middle. [The fuck?]

She doesn’t think that maverick hunters are warriors of justice, instead thinking of them as “government-sanctioned murderers” in order to cope with the fact that she’s killing people (Referring to uninfected mavericks). [It’s another “My character is cynical and sees the world for how it really is” Episode.]

Maverick hunters are not all bad; they're protecting the civilians and their daily lives, human and reploid. But they're not entirely heroes of justice either; they're the government's over-glorified executioners… [MAVERICKS ARE LITERALLY TERRORISTS WHO KILL PEOPLE. SEE: SKY LAGOON] with a reasonable reason to exist. They keep the peace for civilians who can’t fight, but as government task forces, they are restricted to their jobs and can’t listen to what the freedom fighters have to say or help in other ways… [MAVERICK HUNTERS HELP WITH RECREATION AND OTHER THINGS YOU DUMB BASTARD] And these freedom fighters have a point on occasion, due to the existing human-reploid racism. [THAT WAS NEVER IN ANY OF THE GAMES YOU HACK.]

Ultimately, she acknowledges both sides of the coin to cope with the truth. However, she constantly reminds herself that her job allows her to protect civilians, who just want to live another day. But she also reminds herself that from the start, she joined the Maverick Hunters for whatever she’d get from it; board and paycheck. [MY CHARACTER IS TOTALLY CYNICAL GUYS]

She would like to retire if possible—she doesn’t want to have to kill people [MAVERICKS ARE INSANE MURDERERS AND ALSO ROBOTS] just to make a living, even though it’s technically legal for her to do so, because she’s working for a government task force. [Stop calling them that you Edge lord.] However, as the Black Devil, [FUCK That’s Edgy.] she was already too important to leave. [Unwarranted Self Importance.] But she just tries to do a good job, and hope there will be an opportunity for her to retire without the crime rate skyrocketing like what happened with X. [Excuse me, what?]

The world is packed with lies and half-truths, and there’s no way to escape them. Humanity can be disgusting as a whole, but individuals and their daily lives are beautiful and worth protecting.

“Is the world so cruel because its beauty is soiled by cruelty, or is it so beautiful because its beauty perseveres in spite of the cruelty?” She does acknowledge both, but she does not have much of an attachment to the world.

The world is composed of the people living in it and whatever they have made. It is impossible for a single person to change the world, because for the world to change, it must accept the change. [X. LITERALLY. CHANGED. THE. WORLD. BY. EXISTING.] Usually, for the world to change without much chaos, evolution is required instead of revolution, but it appears Maverick freedom fighters are mistaking revolution for evolution: Evolution is a slow change without much chaos, while revolution is a fast, chaotic change.

Current Character State – Core Aspects of Personality

“There will be misery, but whose? Not mine.” [Hello Darkness, my old friend.]

Solid knows that whatever she does or chooses there will be someone who is impacted. When she takes chances (Like promotions), she is taking a chance that would have belonged to someone else. Whoever she kills on the job, someone somewhere may be mourning over the death. Even if no one does, the retired reploid was still “miserable”, in a way. Therefore, she decides to do whatever she wants and achieve whatever she wants. [Ugh. This is fucking awful. The Internet is for people over 18.]

“The law is created for a reason….” [And Mavericks break this law, so blow ‘em up and get their power.]

…therefore, if there is no need for the law to fulfill the reason, or the law no longer accommodates the reason, there is no need for compliance. But she does understand the value of the law. In accordance to this statement, Solid complies with the law without questioning. She never really breaks the law or does anything risky, due to her fear of getting into trouble. [Again. What does any of this mean.]

Introversion. [What’s up Tsun-Chan?]

She was always an introvert, and her introversion gets even more prominent after outliving her friends. These parts of her also play a part of her being left out by the hunters in social circles; she’s not willing to step in. However, this means that once she forms a relationship, it is a close one. [A cold Tsundere waiting for the perfect guy to melt her icy heart.]

Tendency to hide things.

Her tendency to hide things gets in the way of relationships on occasion.

Unwillingness to live a life as long as a reploid’s. [Then what was the bit about outliving her friends?]

After a conga line of misery, [2EDGY4ME] she has a low threshold of increase in long-term suffering; therefore, she doesn’t want to live a long life, because everything, good things or bad things, will pass. Even though misery will disappear and joy will come to take its place, she can only take the rollercoaster that is life for so long.

A peaceful person…. Who isn’t afraid to fight if necessary. [Get it? Because her power is brute strength? Irony.]

Her troubled past life as a human taught her how valuable peace is, and thus she is a gentle person who would rather finish confrontations civilly, or outright avoid them. She doesn’t like hurting people, nor does she like getting hurt either, so she is used to negotiating. However, there are confrontations that can’t be solved peacefully and she isn’t afraid to fight when such occasions occur. In accordance to being a peaceful person, she tries her best to make peace with whatever is around her, which leads to…..

Understanding and forgiving.

She acknowledges that everyone has a reason to do something, and tries her best to understand whatever it is for the sake of her own inner peace. She understands how painful guilt can be, and consequently she grows into a forgiving person, although she does make exceptions.

Strong-willed.

She does whatever she can to solve her problems in order to make sure things get better for her. She does her best to never give up, unless she’s dealing with problems that are too minor that solving them is more troublesome than it is worth. Even if she does feel down, she will pick herself up and solve the problem.

She acknowledges that people have good reasons to make their decisions, and tries to understand them as well as she could. Consequently, she makes sure she can back up her decisions to at least herself whenever she does make one.

“Soil your hands now to survive so you can live on to redeem yourself later.”

She is willing to perform unsavoury acts (Example: Lying) to survive unforgiving environments and live on to become a better person in the future. It doesn’t mean she doesn’t feel guilty; she does. But she represses it and confronts it when she has the room to do so. However, she doesn’t open up easily, therefore most people misunderstands her actions…. Although it’s her fault for not bothering to communicate it well.

Lively and fun-loving.

…At least, in private. Because being happy feels good, and it’s even better to be able to spread it. Of course, she does recognize the limits in regards to acting out on this trait. But this is a double-edged trait since she doesn't like to continue living if a long life becomes agonizing.

Selfishness.

For a long time, she is used to being the only one to “cover her back”. Therefore, she rarely does favours for people who aren’t close enough to her unless she has too much to give. She does like helping people, but is selective in regards to who she helps; either because they might bite her hand and/or there are other people already helping them and/or because they can’t/don’t want to be saved. Therefore, she takes care of herself and her loved ones…. And nothing much else. Consequently, she minds her own business most of the time. However….

Has much to give when she does give.

When she opens her heart to someone, she pours as much of it as she could. When she does care about someone, she cares deeply about them, wanting them to be happy. She would do anything in her power to protect what’s precious to her, and it includes certain people. To her, happiness includes having the people she cares about happy, too.

A loving person.

In spite of her brutality on-duty, she is more of a lover than a fighter, although she can fight when the situation calls for it. In private, she is caring and affectionate. That said, she isn’t afraid of dishing out pain towards people she really cares about if it will improve the situation in the long run, and will communicate the purpose as clearly as she can when she does it to make sure her behaviour is understood.

Overestimates how much her body can take. [Goku she ain’t.]

She grew up as a human, and getting a reploid body slightly warps her perception of the severity of injuries as she gets used to having a reploid body, albeit one closer to a human body…. And more durable than the average reploid body.

THE BACKGROUND OF THE EXPERIMENT THAT CREATED SOLID

[Finally.]

After MMX3, many people had proposed their solutions on the Maverick problem, among other things such as proposal on improvements. The government and private investors had supported the first attempts, but they gradually stopped the support as more and more people try and fail, and consequently spent the funds in vain. From that point on, the government required people to register their attempts in accordance to the law, but funding will not be given, and the parties registering will only be compensated upon success.

A pair of scientists from the Light and Wily families, White Light and Rosa "Rho" Wily, [Fuck. Off.] respectively decided to do long-term research after that point in order to remove bad blood between the families and lift the stigma off their own families (Wily for the whole MMC conga line [Again with the conga lines?] of crises and Light for being suspected of incompetence in regards to the Maverick problem), [DR. LIGHT LITERALLY CREATED THE PRECURSOR TO REPLOIDS] solve the Maverick problem and improve existing reploids/solve existing problems in regards to the current models.

The main problem besides the Maverick problem is that there are so many functions that a robot can have, but one reploid can only serve a fraction of it, thus if reploids are to be a "race of humanity helpers", much effort has to be made to design and make many models. This is VERY costly. [Reploids can do a number of jobs. Mechaniloids are the specialized robots for the stuff like construction.]

In order to solve the aforementioned problem, both scientists decided to remake and improve the Copy Robot. Meanwhile, for the Maverick problem, they came up with the idea of uploading/replicating the human consciousness. [No. They. Did. Not.] As a side research, they decided to attempt to robotize the human body.

The robotization was the first to be completed, and the profits and government compensation helped raise funds for the other two experiments, along with their shares and other patents.

Rho and White decided to prioritize the Copy Robot experiment. They tried several things in regards to developing the right anatomy, but the tries all failed until λ-x-1. In regards to failed reploids, they decided to approach the situation as humanely as possible; retire them quickly. They only have so much resources, and they can’t spend them on failed reploids that are of no use to them.

SUCCESSFUL PROTOTYPES FROM THIS EXPERIMENT (All of their numbers are preceded with WLC; short for Wily Light Collaboration):

One prototype before Lambda; a successful result of full human robotization. Was released by the professors at their own request in order to live their own life. Ends up deceased after MMX5; either after going Maverick, infected by the Nightmare virus during MMX6, being killed by a Maverick or due to the Eurasia crash. [I… I think this a character from a completely different fanfiction…]

λ-x-1/Lambda-x-1 (Axl) Finished on November 11. His new name is his serial number misread by Red. [NO. YOU WILL NOT RETCON A CANON CHARACTER’S BACKSTORY YOU HACK.] Snipe Anteator corrects him that the first character is the Greek letter lambda instead of a fancy capital "A”, but Axl insisted on the misread name, because he liked it better. Was able to tap on the ability to partial-shift (Changing only part of his body instead of the whole body) after joining the Maverick Hunters and attempting to come up with new ways to utilize his limited shapeshifting ability. This ability was deemed a key finding by the professors when they rediscovered him. [Ugh.]

μ-x-0/Mu-x-0 (Solid) Robotized at 20 years old, a few weeks after Lambda's success is verified. She gets “0” as her number because she has no experiments attached to her creation. [Right. Whatever.]

ν-z-4/Nu-z-4 (Lumine. Initially supposed to be ν-x-1, a perfect replica of Lambda made to replace Lambda after Lambda’s disappearance. Was not finished by the time Lambda was found, in which case the professors were able to move onto another experiment after acquiring the successful copy chip result.) [More shit retconning.]

SOLID'S PERSONAL TIMELINE

Her family economy was thrown into jeopardy after the attack on Sky Lagoon and the riots related to it in X4, Solid decided to apply for the experimentation in order to prevent her family’s standard of living from falling significantly. Her payments are similar to payments received by human pharmaceutical lab rats; a huge fee per month.

She complied with the first method, which didn’t work. The attempt to copy her consciousness safely worked; however, only the original copy remained potent. Its derivatives lose its potency. The original copy was lost after it was uploaded inside a reploid body, which was destroyed due to the consciousness energy giving it too much power than it can handle. This discovery made the professors conclude that the human consciousness is a massive energy that has to be restrained with internal limiters.

Meanwhile, Rho and White made it known to Solid that she can’t be attached to any of the prototypes she sees—because the professors can’t, too, because they might turn out to be a failed attempt, and have to be retired. And so, Solid keeps to herself most of the time. She does treat the prototypes nicely like Rho and White do, but she never gets too close to them.

Shortly before the revised method for consciousness-copying was to be tested, it was found out that the consciousness-copying had taken a toll on her body, and she would die soon, so she requested to be uploaded instead. The upload took a long time, and so she remained in stasis for some time.

Before her stasis was completed, however, Rho and White were invited to a personal meeting with an investor interested with funding their experiments, leaving some of their assistants who maintain the facility and some mechaniloids to assist them and secure the area, the first successful Copy Robot experiment subject (λ-x-1) and messages for both Lambda and Solid (Mu). Both Lambda and Mu are locked in a special chamber.

[All that buildup for uninteresting shit.]

During the professors' absence, Red Alert was hired by a saboteur--the "investor" who called both Rho and White--to steal the technology and ransack the laboratory. [Red Alert are like Repliforce in that they’re unofficial Maverick Hunters.] After killing the assistants, sabotaging the laboratory (Consequently causing a power cut) and the mechaniloids, Red Alert began the search for whatever they can find and give to their benefactor. [They aren’t the Chaotix.] Lambda heard the chaos, Mu was still in stasis. Lambda decided to wait it out in fear and accordance to Rho and White's instructions: Never leave the chamber unless the solar panels are busted and you need to restart them because for some reason, the assistants aren’t available to do it.

After waiting it out until there is only 25% of the power left and hearing nothing from outside, Lambda decided to restart the solar panels after donning the armour the professors created to accommodate prototypes with copy chips, armed with the DNA data the professors loaded into him as part of the experiment, locking the chamber door behind him. However, after successfully restarting the power, he was discovered by Red Alert on his way back to the chamber, and was captured; however, he put up a big fight, scarring Red’s face and getting himself scarred in the process.

Red brought Lambda to his client, who intends to overwrite Lambda’s personal data and mess with his memories, to make it as if Lambda was created by said client. Shortly after, the Eurasia disaster strikes, causing a power cut that interrupts the erasure, which caused Lambda's memory erasure to become imperfect; upon being triggered, the memories will return. After leaving the place, the client and some Red Alert members were killed shortly after by some Nightmare viruses. Red and the remaining members managed to escape and save Lambda.

[Did. Not. Happen.]

Meanwhile, Mu was successfully created and the consciousness safely uploaded. However, she woke up alone; Lambda was missing, and the door appears to have been opened. Looking around at the remaining files and the professors’ final messages before departing, she leaves the chamber to find the mechaniloids broken, the professors’ assistants dead and the laboratory in bad condition. However, there is no danger to be found. Not knowing what to do and hoping the professors might come back, Mu waits it out, living on the backup power that was fully charged as a result of Lambda successfully restarting the power.

After the backup power was spent and there are no signs of the professors, Mu decided to leave the lab, donning the backup set of armour in order to look for a place to accommodate her. She leaves the laboratory to find a polluted wasteland and finds the Maverick Hunters some days before X6, and agrees to volunteer in exchange for board and all that entails.

In order to blend in with the reploids, Mu identifies herself as “Solid”. Because the slots for non-combatants are full, she had to become a field operative, doing relatively mundane things to facilitate the higher-ranked hunters, such as location mapping.

Meanwhile, after finding out the state of the world and what happened to it, she was struck with grief upon knowing that almost all of her family and friends are dead. She spent her off-time grieving alone in her room.

Sometime after X6 when communication signals have been restored, she was able to contact Rho and White, [I don’t think this author realizes the Implications of X and Zero living in a world with surviving relatives of Dr. Light and Dr. Wily.] who fortunately survived the Eurasia crash due to being somewhere underground when it happened. They apologized to her for not being able to return when they’re needed the most. They can’t blame her leaving the power-cut laboratory after waking up alone and afraid. They also apologized because the companies whom they were shareholders of were destroyed by Eurasia, so they don’t have anything much and they can’t provide for her anymore; she’s on her own.

She replied that she’s with the Maverick Hunters and that she’ll help them by sending part of her monthly pay check when/if she can. The professors told her that she doesn’t have to and that they can manage, but Solid replied that because her family are already dead, she can’t send her pay checks to her parents, and she’s always wanted to do that when she’s all grown up, and they were already close from the time they spent working together and helping each other with their problems, and she cares for them nevertheless.

After the Nightmare crisis’ first stage was over (Hunting down Gate and retiring the resurrected Sigma), the second stage started after Gate’s laboratory was destroyed, causing the remnants of the Nightmare virus to break loose and infect many reploids, forcing Gate and the Maverick Hunters to fix the consequent riots. Besides the Nightmare causing a maverick outbreak, other reploids took advantage of the power vacuum in the world after most countries were destroyed and started misbehaving; starting riots, uprisings and the like. Others performed criminal acts, taking advantage of the chaos to get away with them.

Consequently, the Maverick Hunters needed all the labour they could get, and other organizations found it hard to even stand. As a result, Solid stayed with the Maverick Hunters during the time after X6 because the Maverick Hunters are the biggest standing, and most secure organization she can affiliate with.

During these riots, Solid had many near-death-experiences, and her limiters would break one by one to support her during those experiences to make sure she survives. As more of her limiters are broken as she survives near-death experiences, her raw power was increased by the consciousness energy, due to the fact that she can use more power regularly after more limiters are destroyed. The gradual increase of her brute strength, experience and skill cause her performance to increase and over time, she climbs up the career ladder. However, the near-death-experiences made her choose a brutal fighting style.

Over time, she was assigned to more dangerous missions after getting higher ranks. Her initial armour was scrapped in favour of a heavier, more protective armour to accommodate her better. Her massive raw power, brutal fighting style and black armour were what gave her the status of one of the Maverick Hunters' bogeymen, and the name of “Black Devil”.

At some point she was examined by Rho and White in the underground lab, and it was revealed that the limiters breaking and her using the powers to fight (Which means dispensing a lot of power and damaging her body slowly) eats away at her lifespan. Solid approved of it because she doesn’t want to live as long as a reploid, but a human. The three of them decided to tell the Maverick Hunters anyways, because she can be repaired regularly, even with such a corrosive power. [An edgy as fuck Proto Man.] However, Solid secretly planned on never getting repaired so she can live as long as a human. Being in a reploid body also warped her perceptions of vulnerability, especially after growing up a human, so she doesn't bother to change her fighting style.

X's retirement left the Maverick Hunters [He never really left, he just didn’t fight for a little while.] with a gaping hole and more workload as more criminal organizations rise and start causing trouble after news of X's retirement spread. Red Alert stands out in particular. Solid is one of the hunters tasked with eradicating Red Alert. [No, Zero and Ex Red Alert member Axl were tasked with taking down Red Alert.] However, they do not interact much during X7, even when Axl entered HQ. [Half of the exposition for that game took place in the command center. Where X, Zero and Axl were.]

This is because Solid was tasked with a mission to destroy one of Red Alert's major warehouses, which Axl was guarding with his squad, pre-X7. Red Alert was tricked by a Maverick Hunter personnel pretending to be on Red Alert's side--the personnel had sold them night vision eye mods that was supposed to override cloaking devices. However, that eye mod specifically whitelisted the cloaking device Solid was supposed to wear for that mission. [What the fuck is this James Bond shit.] Being an invisible enemy, she dealt great damage to Axl and his squad, but because of the cloaking device, he didn't know it was her. Red's arrival interrupted the killing, and the mission failed. [Funny how Axl didn’t mention any of this when questioned by Zero.]

Axl survived to join the Maverick Hunters, and Solid is filled with guilt for having done that to him. However, she keeps it a secret, and avoids him for the whole of X7.

[X Posi-Who? That’s not a game nor is it an OVA.]

After Axl was integrated into the Maverick Hunters and placed into the Special Forces unit, they become squadmates. The Special Forces is the mixed bag unit, filled with people positioned in niche jobs/jobs that other hunters normally do not do--that's why Solid wasn't in the 14th Grapple Unit, she can go into virus-filled areas and it would be like going anywhere else. Axl is assigned to the Special Forces because he’s unaffected by the Maverick virus, a stealth operative AND spy, not to mention that he was in a high position in Red Alert, and he would know a lot about the criminal underworld than anybody else, that’s why he’s not assigned to the 0th Shinobi Unit; [Just the Zero unit you Weeaboo.] he is useful for more than just stealth.

They were deployed together because the Maverick virus doesn’t affect them (It didn't hurt them like X, or make them invincible (and maybe corrupting them) like Zero)in any form--Axl because of his copy chip, Solid because of her human consciousness programming. [She’s still a Reploid, human or not, the virus should still affect her.]

Before Axl joined the 9th Special Forces, Solid was the only one they could send to areas brimming with the Maverick virus (X would get hurt by the virus, and no one wants to risk Zero being corrupted by the virus, even though he becomes invincible--Lifesaver had a point, Zero "awakening" [Non canon bad ending scenarios.] was probably due to so much exposure to the virus) for either fetch quests (Digging pre-Eurasia relics or something) or to clear the area of Mavericks and the virus.

They decided (after an argument) to "stay alive for each other" and to "trust the other to be strong", because both of them are protective towards their co-workers after so much loss. Working with each other over the years built up camaraderie.

Over time, they got close, to the point that when Axl expressed his desire to be a bogeyman out of guilt caused by being an assassin in Red Alert, Solid revealed that she was the one who massacred his squad that day, just to convince him that both Maverick Hunters and Red Alert are murderers either way--so that if he doesn't hate himself as a hunter, he shouldn't hate himself as a Red Alert member either.

In order to settle the old score, both of them had a duel to put it behind them and return to being partners again. Axl won the fight because Solid forfeited [“My character can’t be beaten”]--the fight dragged on for too long and it corroded her body a lot, putting it into emergency mode. She was forced to surrender, lest she dies. And because of that, Axl found out about the true nature of her powers. [An everyday Kirito.]

He kept on convincing her to return to Rho and White to get it fixed, but due to their busy maverick hunting schedules, she kept postponing it until it almost got her killed in a transmission-less mission. If it wasn't for Axl's quick thinking (Transferring part of the energy overload to him and firing it using his guns), she would've died. After that mission, they went to Rho and White...and when Axl entered the laboratory, he saw the door of the secret chamber where he was once kept before Red Alert captured him, and his memories return. Consequently, Axl, Solid, Rho and White found out that Axl was the prototype that was taken from Rho and White 15 years ago. [Axl always knew he was a Next Generation Reploid, idiot.]

Meanwhile, Solid's checkup reveals that she only has 60 years to live if she keeps on hunting Mavericks, so due to her promise to Axl, she asked Rho and White to repair her limiters and make them stricter, and modify her armour. Her armour is modified to synchronize with her body, controlling energy output to slow the corrosion of her body. It decreases her offense capabilities, but increases defense and recovery capabilities. Upon return, Solid asks for a demotion to a less active position as well, to start her transition to retirement. [A certain someone didn’t collect the Heart or Energy Tanks.]

Shortly after their reunion with Solid and Axl, Rho and White announced their project to create New-Generation Reploids; reploids with human consciousness and the ability to shapeshift. [Mar-Ray Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue] The New-Gens won't have the full consciousness energy to prevent incidents like Solid's, and most of it will be extracted away from them while still keeping the consciousness data. The extracted energy were used to make MAME-Q/Bulbrites.

Given the success of Axl/Lambda and Solid/Mu, their project was approved and funded by the government. As a result, Lumine was created as the very first official New-Gen. Axl's shapeshifting abilities was improved shortly after Lumine's creation. The New-Gens are immune to the Maverick virus because of both the human consciousness (Different programming) and the copy chip (The biology of a reploid with copy chip is too different from the First-Gen reploid. Without a similar body to assist in the infection, the virus can't get in.). Both of these factors can make a reploid immune even if only one of them is present, meaning that even the prototypes are immune.

NOTES ABOUT THE 9TH SPECIAL FORCES UNIT:

The Special Forces is the mixed bag unit, filled with people positioned in niche jobs/jobs that other hunters normally do not do. So their job is usually their own job--their jobs don't usually intersect. That doesn't mean that it's every man for himself. The unit leader, Mortis "Jackass" Jackal keeps everyone together. Jackass had been around since before Eurasia. [A NEW OC HAS ENTERED THE FANFIC]

Originally built for forensics examination to assist in human murders, his job scope expanded after X6 as he had to fill slots that were empty due to personnel death/infection during those chaotic times, which got him promoted to leader in due time.

There's a tradition in the 9th, started by Jackass [Swearing in a Mega Man story.] himself; every new member is to be nicknamed "Protagonist" [Mar-Ray Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue] until everyone knows them better enough to give them an "official" nickname. Jackass is well... Jackass. Sometimes that nickname is self-given, sometimes it's given by others. Jackass chose his nickname himself. It helps people see him as more than just the "unit leader" and to remove the formality off-duty so everyone’s like family. The family spirit had been fostered since X1 (Sting Chameleon joined Sigma because “there are hostages and there’s nothing we can do” (According to his hard mode/free play dialogue), [True, but again, Maverick Hunter X has no bearing on the original series.] he joined so that his unit could survive another day. The hostages from his unit who were spared due to him joining decided to carry on his legacy.), but Jackass started the nicknaming tradition.

Axl’s nickname is “Joker” [No it’s not.] (Referencing his “wild card” physics... He can look like anyone, and sometimes he’s invisible. Also referencing his demeanour--he makes everybody smile with him.), Solid’s nickname is “Cat” (Referencing her main fighting style (Claws) and the fact that she doesn’t socialize as much as the other members). [Tell that pussy to get fucked.]

Due to the nature of the Special Forces unit, the members are almost never deployed together (at least, until Axl was assigned there), but Jackass keeps everyone bonding, or at least fosters teamwork spirit in a unit that doesn't need teamwork spirit as much as other units.

She can be deployed on occasion, and is part of a research team investigating the New-Gen case as the New-Gens *are* immune to the Maverick virus, and therefore their revolt is not due to infection. Most of the maverick hunters suspect that it was a result of human mistreatment and prejudice, and some of them decide to form an unofficial research team to investigate if the hypothesis is right.

The hypothesis proves to be right, coupled with Lumine’s final message (The fragment that was embedded into Axl’s head is his method to transfer his electronic brain for the purpose of transmitting the last message upon defeat) that they were rebelling due to the fact that they are fed up with being mistreated and looked down upon as machines instead of people, and they lied about Sigma’s DNA provoking them into violence against humans in order to prevent the other reploids, New-Gens or not, from being reprogrammed into constant compliance (“lobotomized”, so to speak) [Gimme an E, gimme a D, Gimme a G and Y. What’s it spell?] or outright exterminated because they can rebel like humans do; instead, given the lie, the copy chips would simply be replaced. Lumine also revealed that the New-Gens' plan in MMX8 is to take over Jakob, transport them and everyone who sides with them to the Moon and live there before destroying the elevator, leaving the humans, the old reploids and whoever sides with them in the desolate and polluted Earth.

However, Lumine leaves it to Axl to do whatever he feels is the best: To tell the truth, or go along with the lie. After the Maverick Hunters have a discussion among themselves in regards to the whole truth, they decided to tell the truth to the world.

Lumine's rebellion and its impact on society had made Solid realize that, even though one person cannot change the world, one person still has power. And she realizes that she has that power, given that she is the only known reploid who was explicitly formerly human, and she participates as one of the spokespeople supporting the belief that the New-Gens rebelled because of human mistreatment, therefore humans have to stop mistreating reploids for the sake of both parties; the humans don't want the rebellions, the reploids don't want to have to rebel to be heard. She realized that, if she had acted sooner, Lumine probably wouldn't have to rebel, fight and die. At this point, it is where Solid finally decides to act for what she believes in.

A negotiation, both for the short-term and long term, between reploids and humans was reached:

Short-term: Production of New-Gens are halted due to the fact that the humans need compliant tools to continue with the Jakob Project, but existing New-Gens will not be exterminated and will be allowed to live their lives normally as long as they comply with the law and bear with stricter regulations following the uprising, at least until the humans manage to leave for the Moon.

Long-term: The laws concerning reploids will be given a complete overhaul. They will be treated similarly to humans, with some differences related to physical builds (For example: Reploids can't die outside of unnatural causes given access to proper maintenance; the closest to a natural cause is when their technology becomes obsolete as the years pass, and it might take too long). Suggestions will be made to overcome or eliminate their differences, but peace will be slowly and surely established.

After the negotiation was reached, Lumine was pardoned and rebuilt at Axl and Solid's request. The reconciliation scene between Axl and Lumine was crushing, with both brothers bickering at first and Solid being the middleman, and they end up admitting that it hurt to play the role they're supposed to, because they had to hurt each other, and that both brothers were simply doing what they think is right.

[The X series stopped at X8, disregarded.]

Shortly after the peace agreement between humans and reploids, a few disgruntled reploids who had wanted Lumine to succeed or continue his vision decided to start riots. Those were just small-time riots at first, until a single reploid calling herself Luminis started claiming to be "the revolutionary that can deliver what Lumine couldn't" and united the rioters under her banner, organizing them and making them dangerous enough to be a global threat.

The Maverick Hunters, having marked the start of the establishment of the way of peace, decided to take a less militaristic stand for this crisis. X was assigned to investigate and solve the mystery of the riots. Zero was assigned to arrest the rioters. [Good Lord, where have you two been in this fanfic.] Iris was assigned to calm and pacify the arrested rioters. [Dead character, disregarded.] Axl was assigned to head the protection of HQ, and Solid was assigned to rescue the citizens.

In the end, all the hunters faced Luminis and found out that she was a human pretending to be a reploid, who made the riots more dangerous in order to cause global hatred of reploids and create a human-only world. However, unlike previous crises, the Hunters decided to arrest her and make sure she lives to face the consequences of her crimes...and repent.

After X9, an organization called Nurse of World/NOW was created. X joined it as a reploid representative, along with Iris. Solid left the Maverick Hunters and joined as the interracial bridge, and worked as a noncombatant in NOW.

[That’s a shitty ass song, first of all and second- YOU’RE REPLACING A CANON GAME?! Fuck off, Todd Howard, your writing has sucked this hard, you think I’m gonna trust you to replace a canon game? After you already said it leads to the future of your crack fanfic?]

A few months after the end of Megaman X9: Impact, X, Zero, Axl/Lambda, Iris, Lumine/Nu, and Solid worked together, along with human government leaders in the organization Nurse of World, to remake the world in a way that makes sure reploids and humans can live as equals. [Disregarded. Shit that didn’t happen.]

To meet that end, laws were made. Laws to make sure that reploids are paid living wages and are not forced to work for an inhumanly long time--as they used to, because of racism; [RACISM?!] and to go hand in hand with that law, as the yin to that yang, is the law that mandates reploids to have limited lifespans like humans. [That’s even more horse shit. Granted, there was something similar in Classic Mega Man, but Reploids can actually think on their own, they’re different from robots.]

Solid was the one to come up with the latter rule based on her deep desire to live a human's life when she found out that reploids can live for so, so long, and based on X and Zero's long lives of suffering. [SO SHE HANDICAPPED OTHER REPLOIDS BECAUSE SHE WAS SUICIDAL???]

Naturally, more than a few reploids hated the notion of having their life cut short to accommodate humans after living to work for humans anyway. In time, the mob turned into an army. [NO. SHIT.]

The leaders of the army (Nymph Sakurai, Romulus, Remus and Valencia) caused riots around NOW HQ, and Zero and Axl were the one to quell them, while X and Solid assisted them in the background.

[The twin founders of Rome headed up this rebellion? Yeah, put the Title character in the background, you’re on your way to getting a job at Archie Comics.]

In the climax of the story, she confronted the four leaders of the army with X, Zero, Axl, Lumine and Iris and helped them in the final battle. She, along with Iris, would later attempt (but fail) to rehabilitate Nymph Sakurai, who was later memory-wiped by her companions, who also failed to rehabilitate her. [Shit.]

[FINALLY.]

As her role changed from combatant to interracial diplomat, her reputation as the "Black Devil" slowly disappeared. [Good.] She was finally able to retire from the Maverick Hunters (She couldn’t retire in X6; she needed the shelter and money. She couldn’t retire around X7; she’s the Black Devil, and X7 taught her just what would happen when an important hunter retires suddenly.) to join Nurse of World. [X DIDN’T RETIRE.]

When Nurse of World's workload had shrunk as the world grows to be more peaceful, Solid decided to step down to get a less stressful job in NOW, and lives the rest of her life as a civilian, but she does keep a backup armour in case she needs to defend herself. Upon retirement from her diplomat position, she goes by her real name/human name once more.

On occasion, she helps some hunters to attune to civilian life as peace develops, particularly her former colleagues who get in touch with her closely from time to time. She dies peacefully, many years after her retirement. [This was a chore to read. I literally ran out of comedic steam, it wouldn’t STOP]

SOLID'S FIGHTING STYLE

In line with her brutality, Solid is a melee fighter who fights using claws, [Hey X2 Sigma.] due to the fact that she personally prefers it, and her powers further facilitate the fighting style. She used to use a gun in her X6 days, given to her by HQ, until she broke enough limiters and gained enough promotions to be able to change her fighting style to something she prefers. Over time, she forgot how to use a gun because of that.

Solid’s fighting style is “feral”, [Hi Wolverine] so to speak. She becomes an unpredictable beast to throw the enemy off and give them little room to think. When she is able to reach the enemy, she always focuses on disarming the enemy before killing them; either by taking their weapons away from them or by mutilating them. [Edge, my dude.] She usually starts with the arms, then after that it’s either the legs or the head. On special occasions when the claws aren’t really suitable, she resorts to martial arts or her dao. She chooses a dao because it’s easy for her to slice and dice quickly and without much finesse, unlike katana (Which requires finesse) or most straight-bladed swords (Which is better for thrusting). She chooses such a fighting style that allows for quick killing, yet brutal and unsightly, because she just wants to finish the mission and get it over with. This is the mentality of a civilian; not a warrior. Solid started a civilian, and is a civilian at heart until the end. She tries her best to be accustomed to it, but in the end can't deny that she's still killing people and she might get killed herself; it's a kill-or-die world. Warriors aren't afraid of that reality. Civilians are. So she fights like a scared animal. Animals do not live for battle, but when they are threatened, they hit hard.

Solid also chooses the fighting style in order to finish the mission quickly and minimize casualties and collateral damage. In order to finish the mission quickly and effectively, she fights dirty (“With maverick hunting, it’s either live or die”) and discards the concept of honour in the battlefield. Again, this is the mentality of a civilian, not a warrior.

She focuses on whatever she chooses to focus on, but having little skills on other sectors (Specialization). However, her specialization doesn’t allow much room for little else.

She improvises on the battlefield, using whatever was available in the situation on occasion; for example, if she snatches a weapon, she might use it against the enemy, unless attempting to do so would do her more harm than good. She isn’t good with a big arsenal; it would just make her think too much in regards of which one to use, so she sticks with only a few things.

Solid is highly deterred by stealth and stealth missions; hiding in the shadows makes her feel afraid and small. She will always be afraid of tripping alarms or making sounds. She will not participate in such missions unless given a cloaking device.

SOLID'S GENERAL BEHAVIOUR

Solid is mostly shy, quiet and introverted. [Tsun. De. Re.] She doesn’t speak unless spoken to or if she needs to initiate a conversation, most of the time. She’s the type of person who can’t handle a big group of friends better, so she prefers keeping a close, small circle. In a relationship, she wants to have a situation of mutual need; the other party values her as much as she values them. If she can’t have that, she will not really take the relationship seriously, because she feels that they can, and will leave her any day for someone they like better.

She has a “love is letting go” approach in relationships. No matter how much she likes someone, she can’t force them to like her as much as she likes them. She doesn’t feel she has the right to force someone to stay with her, and doing so wouldn’t make her feel good either. She wants someone to associate with her because they choose to.

One of her more defining features is her tendency to hide things; mostly because she thinks she can handle her problems on her own without the assistance of others. This stems from her past life and is reinforced by her life with the Maverick Hunters. She had been mostly alone, and coupled with her distrust to other people, prefers to solve all her problems mostly single-handedly. As a result, it drives her to hide things from other people because she thinks they don’t need to know or hear it, and also because she doesn’t want them to know something that they might use against her later.

However, this doesn’t mean she is prickly outside. She treats people nicely and with decency, because if she mistreats them, she will feel guilty and she doesn’t want further backlash from others either. She hides the more unsavoury bits of herself. She truly wants to be nice and friendly, and tries her best to do so. Her mistrust and tendency to hide things are part of her self-defense mechanism. But as a result, it also keeps her away from other people, preventing herself from being someone actively forming relationships. She is brutal on duty, due to the fact that she wants to do a good job, and gentle and timid off-duty.

Despite being timid, it doesn’t mean that is all to her demeanour. Because she is used to spending time alone without a “foil” to reinforce certain aspects of her personality, she is used to juggling multiple personas and keeping it all together inside one person, accepting them all as herself. For example, she is truly shy and timid, but when faced with someone shier than her, she will automatically become a “foil” for that person, being the confident, more upbeat one.

That said, her usual demeanour is the gentle, friendly side that doesn’t look shy. But she can switch personas whenever it’s suitable: The brutal, boisterous Black Devil in battle, the shy affectionate little girl in private, the friendly “normal person” in public, the upbeat joke-cracking wise guy with friends, the gruff sink-or-swim mentor, the nurturing mentor, and her least emotional persona.

She doesn’t interact much socially, which doesn’t help her bad communication skills. But she does try to improve. She tries her best to communicate well, but she makes slips from time to time, but she keeps trying nevertheless.

She is absolutely afraid of being yelled at, afraid of showing emotion, has guilt issues and can’t bring herself to get angry or yell at people (Unless it’s for encouragement). As a result, she mostly speaks gently and avoids confrontations. When confrontations come her way, she shuts off her emotions and braves through it, and will be shaken afterwards. Her guilt issues cause her to avoid hurting people as much as possible, and avoid making mistakes as often as possible.

However, she has a good dose of self-esteem. She keeps herself from becoming narcissistic or becoming a self-deprecating wreck. She isn’t afraid of admitting her mistakes, and will take credit when it’s appropriate. She tries her best to become humble, to avoid being a prideful prick, giving credit where it's due, acknowledging the efforts of other people as well as herself. She likes herself as it is, and that’s part of why she doesn’t change much. To her, self-improvement is merely picking a flaw she can live with, because no one is, and will ever be perfect.

Her self-esteem extends to how she approaches her past selves or “dark sides”. She accepts her past selves and embraces the more unsavoury side of hers. When she looks at the past, she feels some regret, but acknowledges that at that point in time, she had done her best and thus, she doesn’t remain in regret for long, and is at peace with her past selves. She embraces her flaws and acknowledges it as a part of her, along with unsavoury personas like the Black Devil. [Literally any female Tsundere OC. NO joke.]

The Black Devil persona isn’t fake or a lie; it is something she constructed out of parts of her own personality, her wants and fears and how she likes to do something given a situation. Even though the Black Devil is brutal, she accepts it as a part of her and doesn’t hate the persona. She accepts her “Black Devil” persona, which has been put to rest after her retirement as part of herself, and accepts that her experiences as the Black Devil has enriched her and she can’t undo it, showing that she is at peace with what she had done to make do.

ANIMAL SYMBOLISM

Solid is associated with the raven, and strictly the raven, not ravens and crows. [Teen Titaaaaaaaans: NO!]

Ravens are traditionally known to be birds of death and bad omen, due to the fact that they feed on carrion, including human corpses. That said, ravens have big feasts at the end of battles, feeding on fallen soldiers. However, ravens later acquired a reputation of being smart tricksters. Recent research sheds new light on the raven, showing them to be highly intelligent birds who know how to have fun and solve complex puzzles. [Ok then.]

Solid is associated with the raven due to various reasons. Her colour scheme is similar to a raven’s; being born an Asian, she has black hair and eyes. [LITERALLY A JAP. LITERALLY A WEEB.] And her armour is dark blue and black, because that’s the colour combination that appeals to her the most. Like ravens, Solid “feed on conflict and misery” because that’s how the Maverick Hunters work; [NO THEY DON’T THAT’S WHAT VILE DID. VILE WAS A BAD GUY.] without maverick incidents, they wouldn’t be deployed or even needed; that’s how maverick hunters like Solid earn their pay. Solid recognizes it, and doesn’t care much, just like ravens that don’t care that they’re feeding on slain soldiers. One difference is that Solid does care and doesn’t really like what she’s doing, [SHUT UP YOU WANNABE SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE.] but she suppresses it and accepts it because she has nowhere else to go. Hence, “there will be misery, but whose? Not mine.” As a result of this, both are avoided by people.

And the way Solid solves puzzles in spite of having nothing special other than brute strength is similar to how ravens would solve puzzles using only their wings, beak and feet. Like the raven, Solid has no qualms with lying and hiding things from people, [Bitch.] albeit with some guilt, if it will allow her to survive and redeem herself another day. She also enjoys teasing people and making people laugh, and is a fun-loving person.

The words “ravenous” and “ravening” can be applied to Solid and her brutal fighting style.

In another side, she is also associated with the phoenix, specifically, the Chinese fenghuang. However, the association is not very strict and links to the phoenix in general can be made to her. She was reborn from the human body to the reploid body, and she was also "reborn" when her body was fixed pre-X8. Lastly, she was reborn when she left the Maverick Hunters for NOW, and the phoenix is a bird that constantly dies to be reborn again. The Chinese fenghuang does not do this, however, but they do appear in times of peace.

Solid can be interpreted as appearing in times of peace, even if it's more like "marking the start of an era of peace" (along with X, Zero, Iris and Axl), since she only stepped out into the spotlight after X8 when she felt she had to act, after keeping to herself for 17 years.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

Solid is a static character; [That’s a bad thing you hack.] she does change, but not so much. However, her character in its current state is deep and complex [Bull shit.]—hard to completely grasp and understand. It takes a long time and a lot of effort to do so. During the course of the story, her personality will not change (much), instead it will be slowly revealed, like peeling an onion. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bMcXVe8zIs]

Her character stays the same from pre-X5 until X7. She develops only a few times, once after crossing paths with Axl and once more after X8. He convinced her to have more faith in people and be more social, but the change is slow and gradual, and even then the change is not complete. At the end of her story, she is still a shy introvert who generally keeps to herself and still wary of people, and prefers working alone. [An unevolving Tsun is a shit Tsun.] Lumine's rebellion made her change her stance on the impact one person can have in the world, giving her the confidence she needed to finally speak up for what she believes in, without fear of being ignored.

However, her social standing markedly changes over time. She started off as a rookie with nothing much to her name, to the SA-rank Black Devil, [BULL. FUCKING. SHIT. EVEN ZERO CANONICALLY ISN’T A SA RANK HUNTER. Hell I’m suprised you didn’t make your Mary Sue GA Rank.] and to a more sociable diplomat figure until she retires, ending up a no-name civilian. [Started from the bottom now you were always at the bottom.]

Ben pretty much puts a stop to that real quick as he encounters Magma Dragoon instead of Zero. He manages to stop X before he could accuse Repliforce of the sabotage. Both sides are awkward at best with each other and only team up if they share the same objectives.

Also I mistaken Signas for Sigma in your previous ask. Ben and X's iteration of the Colonel are super awkward. There's obvious respect for each other's strengths but that's about it. Colonel has no clue how to react to Ben's antics, much less a human child in general, and just looks at X with a 'Please Help' look on his face.

Red Alert still happens as Axl's awful blast from the past. Something Ben helps him fight against.

S.IV - Ep. 11: The Burning Desire

EXT. KENYA – Sun House Mountain – DAY

-----------------------------------------------------------

Blaze Phoenix flies overhead alongside a sky car that holds the Weapons Testing Team.

ALLEN: (o.s, filtered) There! There it is.

BLAZE PHOENIX: Heh!

They all travel until they spot a large well in the ground and land near it.

-cut to-

----------------------------------------------------------- INT. VOLCANO – Hot Spot - DAY -----------------------------------------------------------

X and Zero teleport inside a sweltering hot Volcano.

X: Alright, this is it. Are you ready?

Zero closes his eyes and opens them slowly as he changes his stance.

ZERO: Hmph.

-a split screen appears, showing Zero on the left and Blaze Phoenix outside of the well on the right-

ZERO & BLAZE PHOENIX: We're gonna get that Son of a bitch.

[Insert Title Card: The Burning Desire]

-close split screen-

Zero runs ahead, leading the way down the slanting rocky terrain as the ground shakes beneath them.

X follows as he notices something behind them.

X: (reacting) A-a-ah. Look out!

ZERO: Wha-? Ah!

Zero turns around to see a series of fiery boulders chase them down the slanting ramp.

X & ZERO: Aaaaah!

As the boulders draw closer, a spiky climbs it’s way up to their position, but Zero cuts it down with his Saber immediately.

They make it to flat terrain, but the boulders continue to chase them. X points to a short wall ahead of them.

X: The wall! It’s our only chance.

The two run and dash-jump over to the far wall as the fiery boulders violently crash against it.

X: Phew.

ZERO: Hmph.

He walks over to a short crevice and stops short to see a large flaming boulder fall down into the gap ahead of him.

ZERO: Whoa!

X: We've got to be careful. This entire place is ready to blow.

Zero nods in agreement with wide eyes.

INT. SUNHOUSE MOUNTAIN – Well Entrance – DAY

Blaze Phoenix and the Team of testers look at the well carefully as they walk up to it.

GLEN: Are you sure this is it?

ALLEN: Absolutely. These are the coordinates that Victor gave us.

BLAZE PHOENIX: That’s good enough for me!

Blaze Phoenix smirks as he flies in, leaving them behind.

RON: Heey! Wait for us.

Without waiting, Blaze Phoenix rushes down through the deep well and makes it to land where he notices that a cavern opens up.

BLAZE PHOENIX: Hmph.. This must be his hiding place.

He runs ahead while the Weapons Testers barely make it to his position with their jet packs.

GLEN: Whooa.

ALLEN: Phoenix! Wait up!!

- Cut To –

----------------------------------------------------------- INT. VOLCANO – Rock Gaps – DAY -----------------------------------------------------------

X and Zero hop among a series of rock masses that have so many gaps between them, they might as well be pillars. Fire boulders spurt out up and down between some of the gaps, effectively scaring X and Zero as they carefully navigate the terrain.

After getting past 8 pillars, X and Zero take a long jump to more steady terrain.

X shoots down a Batton bone that awaits them.

Zero notices an energen capsule on the ground and grabs it. Then a swirling flame passes over his head and back into the ground.

ZERO: Whoa!

They come across two mets, which shield themselves from Zero's saber slashes. The moment they peek out from their hard hats, X shoots them down with level 1 shots. Then, another swirling flame almost takes out X.

X: Damn! This heat is crazy!!

They jump over a few more rock gaps and dodge the corresponding flaming boulders.

When they make it to the next stretch of land, they carefully watch out for the fire swirls as they spot a large Giga Death mechaniloid waiting for them.

X: Oh man! What’s that?

ZERO: I don’t know, but I don’t like it.

It fires three missiles at them, from both arms and it’s nose.

The two briefly struggle as they dodge and take it out with a slash and a charged shot.

A swirling flame crosses a gap behind the Giga Death's explosion, almost as if leading the way.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. SUNHOUSE MOUNTAIN – Underground Cavern – DAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blaze Phoenix runs through a short corridor where dragon themed heads glare at them menacingly from every corner.

GLEN: H-h-haw. What skeevy décor.

BLAZE PHOENIX: (acknowledging) What is this place…?

ALLEN: Is he trying to build a Base??

As they pass by a Dragon Head, a violent flame spurts out from it's mouth.

TESTERS: WHOA!

RON: Hey! Those are our Flame Throwers.

GLEN: That bastard. That’s where the fruits of our labor are going?

Blaze Phoenix looks ahead.

BLAZE PHOENIX:

Come on, guys. We'll set him straight.

He leads them down, into another corridor, below the decorative flame thrower.

- Cut To –

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. VOLCANO – Land Masses - DAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

X spots some more bats and shoots them down as they hop over a gap and make it to another long crevice.

Three large fire boulders pass through the crevice. Two descending and one ascending in the middle.

ZERO: God, Damn!

X: (brave) Be careful!

X takes the lead and air dashes to the other side.

Zero is about to do the same, but more fireballs interject, this time in the opposite manner.

ZERO: (grunting) Aaaarrrrggggghhhh!!!

Zero jumps and performs Hienyaku, the air-dash he learned from Jet Stingray.

On the other side, they see a ramp leading upwards as the ground shakes once again.

ZERO: Uh oh.

X sees the first fire boulder come down the ramp.

X: Shiiiit!

A line of fire boulders come down on them. They will surely hit.

ZERO: Ahhh! Think fast!!

They both look around and instinctively jump and air-dash toward a rocky formation that’s slightly above them at a slant.

X: Whoa! Good call, Zero.

ZERO: Yeah man.

They grip tightly to the walls as they wait for the boulders to pass.

ZERO: Now!

X: Right.

The two air-dash back to the ramp and quickly run to the top.

Immediately, they see more fire boulders crash against the ground.

X: Ahhh, man!

Zero spots a sealed off gate made of rocks ahead of them.

ZERO: Quick! Over there!!

The gate seems to have a glowing eye, as they dash over to it and quickly slash and blast it down together.

X: Hmph. Dragoon must be watching us. He knows that we're here.

ZERO: Good!

They both run in.

- Cut To –

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. REPLIFORCE HQ – Command Center – DAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

A blip on the monitor alerts General to the activity sparking up in Krakatoa, Indonesia.

GENERAL: Hmph. So the Maverick Hunters are at it again… It looks like Dragoon was right about his hunch.

He zooms in on the large volcano with his satellite feed and glares at the screen when a live image of X and Zero appear, running through a cavern. Then, he presses a button on his control panel.

GENERAL: Prepare yourself, Magma. They’re on their way.

MAGMA DRAGOON: (o.s, filtered) Heh. Roger.

-cut to-

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. SUNHOUSE MOUNTAIN – Pit – DAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blaze Phoenix and the Weapons Testers run along a pathway with an opening that leads deeper below.

ALLEN: Jeez! Just how far does this rabbit hole go?

GLEN: (intimidated) Remind me why we're here again?

BLAZE PHOENIX: To avenge Infinity Flea's death, and take our weapons back. Come on!

He flies into the pit leaving behind a wicked trail of flames.

GLEN: A-Alriight.

ALLEN: I don’t know about this..

RON: Come on, ya pansies.

Ron jumps in and follows Blaze Phoenix with his jet pack. Then Glen and Allen follow.

- Cut To –

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. VOLCANO – Rocky Ledges - DAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

X and Zero run out of a small cavern and stop short at another long Crevice.

ZERO: Oh, shit.

X: Looks like this isn’t getting any easier.

They watch as fireballs pass by the long stretch of air. Their only means of passage is to use the jagged formations of the Rocky wall to their side.

ZERO: Alright, come on man.

The two hop along two rocky ledges. When Zero gets to the third, a fiery boulder passes behind him downward and ahead of him upward.

ZERO: (surprised) Oh!

X bravely air-dashes past him to a fourth and fifth ledge.

ZERO: Look out!!

X: /Ah!

A fire boulder shoots upward into X's ledge and cracks it from below. X quickly dash-hops away. Zero follows suit.

More fiery boulders drop and ascend passed them, between the rocky ledges until they finally make it to solid land once again, on the other side of the crevice.

X: Whoa, God! This is too much.

ZERO: I know.

The two run over to a short wall and scale it with kick-jumps. Once there, they see a taller wall with a Raiden Armor Soldier looming above them.

X: Uh oh.

ZERO: Hmph!

He kick-jumps up the wall and stands before the Raiden Soldier, who glares at him.

RAIDEN 1: You’re going to regret coming here.

ZERO: (defiant) I REGRET NOTHING!!

Zero dashes and uses Shippuuga, Slash Beast's powerful blade attack. The pink, enhanced slash of the saber puts an immediate dent into the Raiden Soldier’s Ride Armor. Then, he swipes his blade 3 times in a smooth combo, which cuts away at the Ride Armor and the soldier inside entirely until they explode.

Behind Zero, X floats from his thrusters with his arms folded.

X: So much for our cease-fire…

He hovers over to his position with a glum face.

Zero shares X's solemn face.

ZERO: You know that wasn’t going to last forever, X…

X: (sighing, admitting) I know…

- Cut To –

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. SUNHOUSE MOUNTAIN – Deep Pit – DAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blaze Phoenix leads the way with an eager grin on his face as a fantastic wave of flames surrounds his entire body.

Far behind the flames, Allen, Glen and Ron struggle to keep up as their bodies are perspiring from the intense levels of heat in the pit.

Then, the whole area begins to rumble.

ALLEN: Hm?

GLEN: What was that??

The giant tunnel shakes as rocks can be heard crashing down beneath them.

RON: What the-?

He turns around and widens his gaze immediately at a huge stream of lava, as tall as the entire tunnel around them.

RON: Oh God!!

Allen and Glen turn around, frightened to see the huge wall of lava coming for them. There is no way out of this. They will have died for nothing.

ALLEN & GLEN: AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

The wave reaches Ron and engulfs him entirely. Their bodies disintegrate instantly upon contact.

RON: NNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

From far ahead, Blaze Phoenix crashes through a wall with an aura of flame around him. He barely hears the faint sound of screaming, which makes him only slightly turn his head.

Then, he notices a giant wall of lava headed straight for him.

BLAZE PHOENIX: Hm!?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. VOLCANO – Rock Walls - DAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

X looks at the damage done to the Repliforce soldier with remorse. Then, he gets distracted by a warm sensation emitting from his compartment belt.

X: Hm? /Hey! The heart fragment is glowing.

X pulls out his incomplete heart tank and gladly changes the topic.

ZERO: There must be another one up there.

Zero kick-jumps up and dash-jumps in an impressively wide arc.

On the other side, he dashes and grabs the item.

ZERO: Got it!

He dashes back to the ledge and tosses the fragment to X below him.

X: (happy, thankful) Whoa! /Thanks Zero.

He /catches the fragment and connects it to the heart tank as the power surges through his pores. His hands slightly glow purple before placing it back in his compartment belt.

X: Whoa… Thanks for collecting the rest of these. And the weapon chips too...

X kick-jumps up the wall, on the other side of Zero.

ZERO: Of course man.

He dash-jumps over to X's position.

ZERO: We're gonna need everything we've got to stop Repliforce and the Mavericks.

X gives him a crooked eye with a slight smile.

X: Hmph. I suppose it’s inevitable right now, but hopefully, we won’t have to fight Repliforce any more after this.

ZERO: Heh. Ever the Optimist.

He dashes past X with a smile.

X: (smirking) And you – the cynic, to keep me grounded.

He turns around and follows his partner.

ZERO: Someone’s gotta keep things in check.

X: (smiling) Hm.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. SUNHOUSE MOUNTAIN – The Pit – DAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

BLAZE PHOENIX: (hurting, writhing) AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

The huge wave of lava passes over Blaze Phoenix, who we see guarding his entire frame, huddled under his wings.

BLAZE PHOENIX: (struggling, shaking) Gaaaaaaarrrgh… That… Really hurt.

He falls to the ground, wounded. After a moment, he shakes it off and re-ignites his entire body. Then, he flaps his wings, surveying the damage.

BLAZE PHOENIX: Oh maaan… There’s no way they made it out of that alive. …I killed them!

He blinks as he realizes the severity of his situation.

BLAZE PHOENIX: I didn’t need them to defeat Dino-Rex anyway, but… Now I'm weak!! I can’t continue the mission like this…! Ahh Man.. This won’t sit well with Gate and Laye at all. They didn’t even know about this.

He looks at the tunnels beyond with a resentful glare. There is plenty more terrain to cover before he might even get close to Burn Dino-Rex.

BLAZE PHOENIX: Shiiiiit. This is a lost cause. I need to head back. (v.o) ..and pray they accept my apology.

Blaze Phoenix reluctantly retreats to the top of the tunnel and makes his way back to the opening as he can feel the ground rumbling once again.

BLAZE PHOENIX: (v.o, thinking) Oh great…

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. VOLCANO – Mechaniloid Station – DAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

X and Zero dash over to another Giga Death as the volcano rains flaming boulders down on them.

ZERO: Gyaaah, look out!!

X fires at the Giga death from afar with level 2 charges. When Zero inches near it, he destroys it with his Z-Saber.

ZERO: (continuing) Ya know what, X? We're kind of like a battery.

X: (smiling) Is that so?

They run on through the terrain and /destroy another Giga Death in the same fashion.

ZERO: Sure. We're two different charges that don’t really see eye to eye.. But when we work together, we're /unstoppable!

Just then, X's internal tracer chimes in.

[RADAR]: Detecting a breakable wall, ahead.

X: (pleased) Is that right?

The two try to dash-jump and air-dash to it, but to no avail.

X: Damn. It’s just out of reach.

Nearby, however, there is a Ride Armor which could help to give them a boost.

ZERO: Hmm. Let me try something.

Zero hops in the Ride Armor and uses it to dash-jump in the air. Then, from the cockpit, he hops out, allowing the armor to fall haphazardly in the lava.

X: Whoa!! That was a waste.

He notices that the lava doesn’t affect the Ride Armor at all.

X: Wait.. Was it?

Zero stands above him.

ZERO: Up here, X! Lets break this thing down.

X: (nodding) Hm.

His armor switches to yellow and black as he shoots a carefully placed Lightning Web in mid-air.

X: (v.o, thinking) If my training should prove accurate, this'll work.

X air-dashes to the web and is able to use it as a short wall to kick-jump up and air-dash once more.

X: Yes!

He successfully lands on the ledge by Zero, who clashes his Saber against the rock wall again and again. Then he presses his broken buster against the wall and uses his Thunder God Attack.

ZERO: Damn. Nothing is working!

The electricity of Zero’s Raijingeki fades.

X: Hold on. Let me try.

X’s armor turns to purple and green as he switches to Aiming Laser. When he sets it off, the green ray has no effect.

[RADAR]: Sorry, X. The internal ray is not strong enough.

ZERO: Grrr.

Frustrated, Zero dashes back, and then forward once again. This time he performs Shippuuga. The pink blade of his saber is powerful enough to cut through the bottom block.

From the other side, he looks wide eyed at a hidden Light Capsule and turns around.

ZERO: Whoa! Nevermind.

X: Wow, Zero!! You did it.

X is shocked to see that a capsule was hidden here this whole time. He dashes through the hole and joins his friend.

ZERO: Damn. Dragoon must’ve sealed this off and coated the wall with something.

X: Hmm.

X walks up to the capsule as Dr. Light's hologram reveals itself before the two Hunters.

Zero looks at the Doctor with awe. This is the second time he’s seen him in person, and yet, laying eyes on him gives him a strange feeling in his heart. Something almost.. familiar.

DR. LIGHT: Equip with this new body module, X. This body part absorbs damage inflicted by enemies and will gradually accumulate within. When it is filled to capacity with energy you can execute the invincible Nova Strike. However, a single use will consume all your energy stores, so use it only to pull through tight situations.

X: Whoa. Thanks Doc.

DR. LIGHT: Of course, X. Rid the World of this evil. And remember… Not all forms of evil are draped in black and white.

He fades away, mysteriously.

X: Huh?

ZERO: Yes! He agrees with me!!

X: Hmph…

X steps in the capsule and gains his new upgrade in a brilliant flash of light.

X: Whoa!

His chest piece is now colorfully coated in white with an extra overlay of white and blue with a red core piece and two green lights. His shoulder pads are an iconic white, blue and gold once again. Two, sharp red points stick out from the tips of his shoulders, overall complimenting the accents on his helmet and his boots.

ZERO: Lookin’ good, bud. How do you feel?

X: Amazing!

Zero smiles.

ZERO: Good. Let’s get down there and finish this bastard.

X nods.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- EXT. KENYA - Sun House Mountain - DAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blaze Phoenix flies out of the well, twirling, and twisting, high in the sky in an attempt to shake off the flames from his molten armor.

BLAZE PHOENIX: Uuuugh, God.. I’m never gonna be able to explain this...

He slowly descends towards the Sky Car that Infinity Flea’s team rode in.

BLAZE PHOENIX: Aw man. What a failure. ...I’m gonna take a lot of heat for this.

He enters the Sky Car with a defeated grimace and takes off upon activation.

- cut to -

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. VOLCANO - Lava River - DAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

X: His retribution has come. It’s time to get some answers.

Zero drops down and dashes over to the unaffected Ride Armor that sits in the Lava.

ZERO: Hmm.

He takes a risk and hops inside the cockpit. The Ride Armor stands upright by his controls and easily traverses among the river of lava below him.

When X drops down, he is surprised to see Zero manning the Ride Armor.

X: Whoa. You aren’t pulling any punches, are you?

Zero dash-hops along the rocks above the lava and X follows.

ZERO: This bastard switched sides and almost killed the 14th Unit without so much as an explanation. He has this coming!

Zero takes another far jump with his Ride Armor as a swirl of flame passes by, passing over the rock from the lava.

Before him, standing on another rock, a Raiden Soldier stares at Zero.

RAIDEN 2: Stop! This is Repliforce Territory-

ZERO: Shut uup…

Zero jumps and slashes him down with the Ride Armor’s beam buster.

X quietly shakes his head and keeps his mouth as Zero moves on to the next rock. A swirl of flame catches Zero’s legs, and X almost feels good about it.

Another Raiden Soldier awaits, Zero.

RAIDEN 3: You dare defy us!?

ZERO: Yep.

A fiery boulder almost crashes against Zero’s Ride Armor as he hops over to the Raiden and breaks him down. Again, X almost wishes Zero got hit.

Zero hops along to another rock as a fire swirl passes him by. On the next land mass, another Raiden stands by.

RAIDEN 4: (fearful) Commander Dragoon! The Hunters are here. I repeat! They’re heEEAAAAGGGUUURRRRGH!!!

The Raiden violently explodes to the Ride Armor’s beam buster.

Zero dashes along the land mass and jumps back into the river of lava. He notices a series of rocks, which he’s confident the Ride Armor can break. He charges up the Ride Armor’s buster and crashes through the rocks. Burrowing underneath a mountainous pass, he decides to coast along the river and break through the rocks.

X sighs and looks above him. He air-dashes up to the mountain’s ledge, where a Raiden Soldier awaits him.

RAIDEN 5: Stop.

X stands by and looks the soldier in the eyes.

X: Stand down soldier. I don’t want to hurt you.

RAIDEN 5: You have no command over me.

X: We’re just here to have a word with Magma Dragoon, a former Maverick Hunter.

RAIDEN 5: Just as you had a word with your old companion Web Spider!?? I won’t allow it.

X: (annoyed) Hey! I’m overlooking the fact that your forces attacked me first on the Sky Lagoon! But now I need to talk to Magmard and you’re in the way!!

RAIDEN 5: Be gone, Maverick Hunter.

He slashes a beam at X, who jumps back and hovers in the air.

X: (upset) I didn’t want to do this, but you leave me no choice.

X charges up and fires a level-3 X-Buster at the Raiden Soldier.

RAIDEN 5: Gaaugh!

He falls to the ground, out of his Ride Armor, hurt.

X: Remember this. I gave you a choice.

X charges up and blasts him away. He holds back a tear as he makes a firm grimace.

Dashing ahead, and scaling along the mountain with kick-jumps, X quickly makes it to the top of the rocky structure. He enters what appears to be a mechanical area, when he drops down onto a rocky land of mass.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. VOLCANO – Training Area - DAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just then, Zero crashes through the rocks and hops onto the landmass, joining X.

ZERO: Hey.

X: Hey.

They both look at the mechanical wall nearby. It appears that Magma Dragoon was watching them after all.

On the other side of the landmass, Magma Dragoon rises out from the lava, which startles them both.

Lava drips off of his fiery frame as he sets off a quick aura of flame and normalizes his armor. Then, he prepares himself with a battle stance as he looks over to his two old friends.

MAGMA DRAGOON: X and Zero… You've arrived. I can’t believe It's really you!

They both narrow their eyes.

X: Dragoon! Why did you betray the H.Q.!?

He hesitates to answer. He can only offer them a wicked smile.

MAGMA DRAGOON: .........

ZERO: (annoyed, firm) Why did you betray us?! …Answer me, Dragoon!

MAGMA DRAGOON: I have no answer for you my friend.

X: Well that’s not good enough! A lot of blood has been spilled for an unjustifiable cause and you can’t even offer us an explanation.

MAGMA DRAGOON: ...You're so naive. ...Listen closely. I let the Sky Lagoon fall! And I'd do it again! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

ZERO: (shocked) Dragoon!

X: But... Why!? We're allies! How could you DO THIS TO US!!!???

MAGMA DRAGOON: (impish, baiting) Heh... You'll have to defeat me first.

X shakes his head in disbelief.

X: (aggravated) No!! Those were innocent people! You're not Dragoon! Just a Maverick!

MAGMA DRAGOON: You got that right! Power up guys! It's time you both showed me what you can do!

X looks at their former friend with wide, bewildered eyes. Zero’s eyes get sharper as he prepares the controls in his Ride Armor.

Suddenly the ground shakes as Magma Dragoon summons his power.

MAGMA DRAGOON: HuuurrrrrAAAGH!!!!

A circular arc of lava covers his body as he crouches down and unleashes a violent wave of flames from his mouth.

X & ZERO: Whoa!!

X dodges as the flames are directed at Zero, whose only option is to jump out of the Ride Armor when it explodes.

ZERO: Haw, damn!!

X narrows his eyes and fires a fully charged X-Buster at Magma Dragoon.

Magma Dragoon takes the hit and high jumps over to X.

MAGMA DRAGOON: /Kyeh!

He comes down with a sharp, /flame kick, which /catches X in the chest.

X: /Gah.

ZERO: Hey!!

Zero dashes after Magma Dragoon with his saber out.

MAGMA DRAGOON: (excited) That’s it! This is what I've been waiting for!!

Magma Dragoon happily blocks Zero's saber attacks with his arm, which still gets cut in the process.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Hee/Yah! /Shuryuken!

He /strikes Zero in the chest with a flaming fist and then /upper cuts him. ZERO: Ouuuuh..

Zero falls to the ground.

X runs over to Magma Dragoon with a charged buster and blasts him again.

Magma Dragoon jumps back and dodges it, while his fists glow red.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Heh.. I've been looking forward to this day for a long time. Longer than you'd think…

X stands by with a solemn grimace as he can hear Dragoon powering up.

X: Oh yeah?

MAGMA DRAGOON: I've been training. Waiting.. And Hoping for the day that I finally get to show you… the Full Extent of my Power!!!

ZERO: Oh, Shut up!

Zero jumps after Magma Dragoon, who simply turns his body and /pushes his palms out.

MAGMA DRAGOON: /HADOUKEN!!!!

ZERO: /Grrraaaah!!!!

Zero is /knocked down once again and now he looks hurt.

X: Zero!!

MAGMA DRAGOON: Hahahaha. HAHAHAHAH!!!!!! X: Noooooo!!

X blasts desperate level 1 shots of rapid fire in retaliation.

Magma Dragoon stands proudly as he takes the shots.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Heheheh. Hahahah!! /Hadouken! /Hadouken!!

With glowing fists, he /throws a fireball at X. Then he ducks and /performs a second one.

X dashes away from the first one, and barely jumps over the second one in time.

X: Dragoooon!

He air-dashes over to him in anger.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Heh! /Shuryuken!!

He /catches X with his rising uppercut.

X: (reacting, hurt) Gaaaah!!

X falls to the ground and puts his hands over his aching stomach. He feels a shortness of breath as his chest tightens.

Magma Dragoon just looks down at him with pride.

MAGMA DRAGOON: What’s wrong? Those were the moves you showed me… It burns pretty bad, doesn’t it?

He walks around, smug looking at the fallen heroes.

MAGMA DRAGOON: It should burn you even more to know that You did this. You created this Monster! Both of you!!

ZERO: (hurt, muttering) What!? ..Crazy Fuck..

X: (hurt) We… Have done nothing…

MAGMA DRAGOON: You have done Everything!!! Its Always you two!! X and Zero. The World Famous Maverick Hunters! When was it ever about us!? /Huh!??

He /kicks X hard in the ribs while he is down.

X: Aaaah!!

MAGMA DRAGOON: /Huh!!?

He /kicks Zero hard in the stomach.

ZERO: Uuurgh.

MAGMA DRAGOON: /AAAAH??!!

He takes a /flaming kick to Zero, who quickly /grabs a hold of his shin and looks up at him.

ZERO: /Try again…

He dashes back to his feet, while still holding Dragoon's shin. He /shoves Dragoon to the ground and /slashes him across the chest at close range.

MAGMA DRAGOON: /Ungh. /Hoouuuhh.

X silently blasts Magma Dragoon with a charge shot from the ground as he makes his way to his feet.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Agh!

X: You arrogant, envious fool! For us, it was never about the glory. When we saw an Emergency, we responded to it! And you were a part of that!! Why throw that away? Just for a… Misguided Grudge Match!???

MAGMA DRAGOON: Its more than that! This is about the Pride and Self Worth of every Maverick Hunter you've ignored. Every Reploid whose been thrown to the wayside, because they could never get a word in edge wise with you two.

He slowly rises from the ground.

ZERO: What are you talking about!?

Zero runs after him and swings his saber, but Magma Dragoon grabs his hand.

MAGMA DRAGOON: (struggling) Anyone who wasn’t good enough! Who could never hold a candle to you! …None of us had that certain.. /fire that you look for.

He /ignites his hand, burning Zero’s arm in the process. Then, he /punches him in the gut and /kicks him to the floor.

ZERO: /Aaaah! /Oough, /Kaaagh.

Zero slides on the ground as he holds stomach and chest.

X glares at Magma Dragoon, as his inner-temperature rises.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Most of us never had the great privilege of working with you.

ZERO: (coughing, hurt) You did…

MAGMA DRAGOON: A rare Honor, indeed! But secretly, with every triumph and every new power up you two received… I was never happy for you. No. Instead, I grew resentful of you both. Most of us are…

X: Damn you Dragoon!!

X runs to the side, and fires a few level 2 and 3 busters at Magma Dragoon from afar.

Magma Dragoon dodges the attacks and fires back with flame hadoukens, which X dashes away from, as he nears his position.

X: It didn’t need to be like this! This whole thing is pointless!!

From up close, X shoots rapid-fire level 1 shots and attempts to punch Magma Dragoon in the chest with a dash.

Magma Dragoon simply catches X’s fist and tosses him aside like a ragdoll.

X: Whooooooa, /Urgh!

X /hits the wall and falls to the ground.

Irate, Zero shakes off his pain and stands up once again.

ZERO: Oh BOOHOO! Poor Magmard! You weren’t getting enough attention, so you flew the coup and caused a World Tragedy on our account. Are you kidding me with that, right now?

X: (hurt) Zero!! Don’t.. rile him up any more…

ZERO: NO! We took this guy to Laguz Island. We trusted you!! Almost every co-op mission we've done was with the 14th Unit. Then you betrayed us. For no reason!

MAGMA DRAGOON: …It all comes down to one simple thing in the end. Power… And sometimes, in order to achieve what you truly want, you have to make sacrifices.

X gasps and sharpens his brow in anger as he gets up.

X: You sacrificed an entire civilization… and joined Repliforce, just so we'd fight you…

ZERO: So that was your big plan!? Take out the Sky Lagoon and make it look like Repliforce did it!!!?

MAGMA DRAGOON: It was so brilliant. The look on your bewildered faces when Colonel declared War on you.

Tears well up on X's face as he clenches a fist.

X: (whispering, shaking) So many lives.. Lost for nothing…!

ZERO: I've spilled a lot of blood and staked my reputation on shutting that operation down. And now I find that it’s all because you wanted to spar with us…?

Magma Dragoon glares at them with a impish, wicked grin.

ZERO: Next time just ask!!!

He dashes after Dragoon, infuriated and uses Shippuga, slicing a pink blade at Dragoon’s gut.

MAGMA DRAGOON: /Guuah.

He slashes blade after blade at Magma Dragoon, catching him in the shoulders, before Dragoon fires back with close range hadoukens. Zero is so zoned in that he instinctively dodges the two blasts, but then Magma Dragoon catches him with a /spin-kick

MAGMA DRAGOON: /Heyeh!

ZERO: /Awh.

Zero is pinned down to the ground and then punched hard in the sternum.

ZERO: /Augh.

He coughs up some blood.

Then, a large X-Buster blast /catches Magma Dragoon from behind.

MAGMA DRAGOON: /Hwooah!

We had Peace! We worked so hard to re-attain the state of the World after Doppler’s reign, Sigma’s return and Berkana’s erasures. Then /YOU ruined it. Over the most.. Infantile reason! …I'll Never forgive you for this!!!

His fist glows blue and then flames up into a fiery, red state. The flames grow across his arm and cover his body as a glowing aura of gold surrounds him. Then, the aura covers his body with pure power.

X: NOVA STRIIIIKE!!!!!!

MAGMA DRAGOON: What!?

He stares in awe of X's new attack, as X launches himself with a swift air-dash, directly into him.

MAGMA DRAGOON: GYYAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

X rams into his chest as his Nova aura breaks off his torso and completely disintegrates his legs.

The broken, defeated Maverick looks up at X with tired, hurt eyes.

MAGMA DRAGOON: gg.. Uuurgh. You... are... strong... X...

Zero slowly gets up with wide eyes as he looks at the damage, X has done. He walks over and stands by his exhausted partner as they look down at their former friend.

X pants as he sweats through his helmet. X: Such a waste... Why Dragoon?

MAGMA DRAGOON: ... Always... wanted... to fight... you. ...Then ...he ... appeared ... and

X: He appeared? Who?!

MAGMA DRAGOON: ...told me to work for Repliforce. To goad you into fighting... ...He ...told me... he'd give me power.. only if I worked... for Repliforce...

ZERO: ...What!? He? Who!? MAGMA DRAGOON: I couldn't... refuse the offer... Sorry Zero... ZERO: ...Dragoon!!! MAGMA DRAGOON: ... was worth it... for a final duel...

He turns his head as the rest of his body explodes.

X: Dragoon!!!

X and Zero stare at the damage in silence. X walks over to his frayed corpse and pulls out his weapon chip with misty eyes. He places it in his compartment belt and turns to Zero.

ZERO: …Its over.

X looks up at him with a sorrowful frown.

X: No it’s not.

ZERO: I'll call in a meeting with Colonel. Tell him we were set up. I can fix this.

X: No. You can’t..! Don’t you see? Its too LATE for that!!! He was Repliforce. Which means, they’re going to retaliate, whether we attempt a negotiation or not.

ZERO: You think the time for talking is over, huh?

X: Oh yeah. By a long shot! And I’m also about 50% sure that the person who went to Dragoon was General.

ZERO: (surprised) Huh? ..but why!?

X: I don’t know. Doctor Cain never trusted the Repliforce he helped create. And that final evaluation he wrote came out in June, after he met their new General.

ZERO: Reeeally.

X: I might be wrong. But either way, they are going to attack us with the last of their forces, after this. No doubt about that.

ZERO: Who is the other 50%?

X just gives Zero a look. He doesn’t even need to say the name. Zero looks at X in shock and for the first time he is speechless.

X: Dragoon played us… And we all lost this Repliforce War…

-freeze frame. Grainy effect-

NARRATOR: The Maverick Hunters have successfully defeated their treacherous friend, Magma Dragoon. They have confirmed that the Sky Lagoon Incident was a Maverick attack, but there is no cause for celebration; only concern. Who coordinated this attack? Could X be right that the General is a Maverick? For now, the only certainty we have is that this War will continue. The damage has already been done to the Repliforce and regardless of their motives, they will respond with retaliation.

Shield Sheldon looks up at Dr. Doppler in fear. He has blood-stained hands.

SHIELD SHELDON: Doctor… It’s not… how it looks.

Just then, MAGMA DRAGOON, TURIAN, TETHLON, BLIZZARD, BLAZE, FRENZY FOXKIT and FREEZE ALOPEX from the 14th Special Investigations Unit teleport in.

MAGMA DRAGOON: (growling) What’s going on here!!?

DR. DOPPLER: MAVERICK!!!!

Dr. Doppler points the blame at Shield Sheldon.

TURIAN: Sheldon, what happened to Dr. Jim?

SHIELD SHELDON: (afraid) I-its… not how it looks…

FREEZE ALOPEX: Mhm… That’s what they all say…

-Flash-

TURIAN: You’re outnumbered, friend. Stand down.

SHIELD SHELDON: I won’t!

GATE: Sheldon, pleeease. You’re making this worse for everyone.

SHIELD SHELDON: My purpose.. was to protect important people like Dr. Jim, no matter what the cost. And I failed him! I failed you!!

DR. DOPPLER: (angry) You KILLED him!

-Flash-

SHIELD SHELDON: (stressed, panicking) N..n-NOOOOO! Its too late!! None of you will believe me!! There is no future for me here… I can’t take this.. This is no way to live! ..n..No way to liiive!

Shield Sheldon duplicates himself in 4 Shield shells that fire powerful cross-shots in an X formation. He then teleports towards the middle, without his shield guards, and allows the shells to fire at him at point blank range.

-Flash-

GATE: Sheldon! Don’t do this!! Let the Maverick Hunters bring you in for questioning!

-Flash-

Shield Sheldon fires rapid fire at himself from his guard shells.

SHIELD SHELDON: GAAAUUgghhh-IIIII don’t deserve to Liiiiiive!!!

His body starts to take corrosive damage as it gives way to a massive explosion at the center of the room.

-White Out-

ALIA: (o.s) Hey!

-cut to-

-------------------------------------------------------- INT. LAYE LABS - Gate’s Office - DAY ---------------------------------------------------------

GATE: Huh?

Gate shakes off his day dream and looks up at his colleague, ALIA from his desk chair.

ALIA: Are you listening to me at all, silly??

His Co-worker and Companion tilts her head as she smiles down at him and hands him a tablet.

Caption: June, 2120. 5 months ago.

GATE: Sorry, I…-

ALIA: Isn’t it great!!!? /The Sky Lagoon has officially launched!!!

Gate does a double take at the article on the tablet. It boasts a large picture of a spectacular Colony in the sky. Suddenly his mind is in a much better place.

GATE: (gasping) That’s fantastic!! And to think…. Our humble little practice helped make that happen.

ALIA: (giddy) Uh huh! Every little contribution helped the Reploid Research Foundation fund this Amazing Project. And now it’s a real thing! OH! Could you imagine ever getting transferred there!!?

GATE: Haha! Now, now. Let’s not get carried away.

ALIA: I know…. But, my goodness. To work and live in a beautiful city like that in the sky? (sigh) A girl can dream…

She takes her tablet back, and playfully bops him on the head with it. Then she walks out of his office.

GATE: Hm.

He finally lets out a short smile as he looks out of his window.

Episode 0: A Different World

-Fade in to a peaceful meadow on a sunny day.-

Caption: June 5th, 2120.

Tall trees provide shade around the hills of Pine Meadow Cemetery as a large community of Reploids is gathered around a gravestone.

-Zoom in on the headstone, which reads: -

EDWIN LAURENCE CAIN

Beloved Doctor, Creator and Father of all Reploids

Sept. 22 2047 - June 1 2120

Reploids, Maverick Hunters and Repliforce Soldiers join in a circle around a human pastor who begins his eulogy.

PASTOR: Before we begin, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Reverend Jonathon Crowne, but you can all call me Pastor John.

Some reploids smile at this. Others take in a breath of fresh air. While others remain grim and exasperate with something of a sigh.

PASTOR JOHN: …I have had the pleasure of knowing Edwin through the Church of our Holy Father.

X, the light blue Reploid who felt like a son to Dr. Cain, folds his hands as he looks down at the ground with a solemn face. ZERO, his partner and trusted friend looks down at X with concern. Nearby IRIS and COLONEL of the Repliforce take note of X’s disposition as they listen to the pastor.

As the Eulogy proceeds, X’s mind begins to wander.

X: (v.o, thinking) Hm…. He created his own family after he met me… I still remember that ride home…

Caption: April 16, 2114

X marvels at the sight of a large Nom Corp. aircraft hovering outside and anchoring itself to the mountain with a landing ramp.

X: Whoa! What’s that?

Doctor Cain smiles at his extraordinary discovery. He can’t believe what he’s found and couldn’t wait to see the look on his crew’s faces when they saw X.

DR. CAIN: That’s for us. We’re going home.

X: (quizzical) Home??

At that moment, a Pilot and two of his Crewmen step out onto the landing ramp.

PILOT: Hey there, Dr. Cain. What's the rush? You were only gone for a week.

CREWMAN 1: Yeah, Doc!

CREWMAN 2: Did you find something good?

DR. CAIN: (pleased, excited) Good morning, gentlemen. I would like to introduce you to my new friend, X.

X walks up to the airship; Dr. Cain following closely behind him. He waves to the crew with a smile.

X: (smiling) Hello.

CREWMAN 2: Whooooaaaa, we got a robooooot!

X: (confused) Huh?

Dr. Cain clears his throat loudly, causing the excitement to die down.

DR. CAIN: (ordering) Show some respect! This is more than a mere robot. This is a person!

CREW: Uhhh, okay.

As they enter the ship, the crew all look at Dr. Cain like he's insane. The Co-Pilot lays eyes on X from the inside and reacts accordingly.

CO-PILOT: What the-

DR. CAIN: (Commanding Authority) This is X, and starting today he is going to be a new member of our team!

The Pilot quickly walks by and gets back to his seat as Doctor Cain leads X to a window seat where they can begin to settle in.

PILOT: (wary) Yeah sure… You got it.

DR. CAIN: Now... I promised X a nice view of the sky as we enjoy our flight back home. I expect you'll show him just as much respect as you show me.

The pilot clears his throat and the rest of the crew scatter back to their posts.

PILOT: Uh... of course, sir. Whatever you say.

-fade to-

Moments later they are up in the air. Once the initial excitement of being airborne has faded into normalcy, X’s mind fills with questions once again.

X: Um… Dr. Cain?

DR. CAIN: Yes, X?

X: Where’s ‘home’?

DR. CAIN: What’s that?

X: You mentioned that we were going home. Where is that?

DR. CAIN: Oh. Well… I meant that we are leaving South America and heading to our base in North America.

X: (gradually more confused) Oh… What is a base?

DR. CAIN: A base is.. um… Well, it’s a place of operation. A place for people to work. It is where you and I will work together to help build positive relationships towards humans and robots.

X: Oh okay. That makes sense. So… is that my purpose in life?

Dr. Cain is surprised at X’s completely open question.

DR. CAIN: (answering carefully) Well… I think you were created… to make that decision for yourself. However, at Nom Corp. I feel like you and I could begin to-

X: (interrupting) What’s Nom Corp.?

DR. CAIN: (explaining) Oh… That’s where you and I are going. That’s where I work.

X: (curious) Why?

DR. CAIN: (muttering) This is going to be a long ride…

X lightly chuckles to himself as the pastor proceeds with the eulogy. Then his smile quickly fades into numbness once again.

PASTOR JOHN: At this time I would like to share a poem by American Poet, Bessie A Stanley, called “He has achieved success”:

-ICE WOLFE, WHITE WOLF and NIGHT WOLF of the 13th Unit Wolfpack nuzzle their sad young pups. The 5th Unit Police Squadron stand by them with folded arms.

PASTOR: (continuing) …who has filled the niche and accomplished his task;

The 11th Unit Medics and 12th Unit Miners nod.

PASTOR: (continuing) …who has left the world better than he found it;

X looks up to the sky while Zero looks away.

PASTOR: (continuing) …whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul;

ZARRICK, an ex-Maverick Hunter smiles from the back along with his friends GEAR-RIG and SKID. Despite leaving the group, they are still close friends to their former Unit, the 9th Special Ops Battalion, who stand by them.

PASTOR: (continuing) …who has never lacked appreciation of Earth’s beauty or failed to express it;

The 16th Environmental Unit perk up and smile at the thought.

PASTOR: (continuing) …who has always looked for the best in others and given the best he had.

Pan over to CAPTAIN, the Commander of the Maverick Hunters who frowns. The 7th & 8th Armored Air Cavalry stand with the 6th Maritime Unit as they comfort one another.

PASTOR: Whose life was an inspiration; Whose memory a benediction.

With folded arms, Magma Dragoon shares a stern nod with his grim, 14th Unit.

The Pastor looks at them after finishing his reading. Then he takes a deep breath.

PASTOR: To say that Doctor Cain was a good man is an understatement. He was a diligent scientist, a dignified scholar and a gentleman. He put his heart and soul into all of his work, and gave it to you; his children. He was the type of person who would stop everything, no matter how important, just to make sure you were having a good day.

X sniffles at the reminder.

PASTOR: These are the qualities that bring us to God. They allow us to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and grant us a life Eternal peace and happiness.

X nods as he lets out a breath of relief, while Zero sighs with rolled eyes.

ZERO: (v.o, thinking) What a crock...

PASTOR: On Earth, his legacy will continue to thrive now and forever through you; his Reploids. But I'd like to think that somewhere up in the sky… right now Doctor Cain is already working on his next exciting project.

He offers a warm smile and allows time for a brief pause.

PASTOR: Thank you for joining me this afternoon. This concludes our service for today.

NARRATOR: (v.o) Personal Log: File - 00

Today was the passing of my creator. And to be honest, it was quite numbing to my sensory receptors, for I had never even met him. However, his Eulogy was so moving. So touching to the DNA Soul… that it feels as if I’d known him throughout the entirety of my short life.

Which is impossible, considering that my Pod would never activate had the circumstances…. Well anyway…

Dr. Cain's notes must live on through me now... But who am I?? For now, just consider me an observer. In time, I think the entire Reploid Community will come to know me very well.

-pan down to the ground -

With Doctor Cain's coffin freshly buried in place, there is no need for the Reploids to congregate at Pine Meadow Cemetery any longer. The Maverick Hunters and Repliforce begin to bid each other farewell.

NARRATOR: (v.o) He was clearly loved by his peers, the Maverick Hunters.

We see members of the 5th - 9th Unit slowly leave the area as they console one another.

- Pan to SLASH BEAST, JET STINGRAY and STORM OWL of The Repliforce, who slowly take their leave. –

NARRATOR: (v.o) The Repliforce seemed a bit more distant, but their mere presence was honorable. Dr. Cain was clearly a highly respected member of their Community. I can only hope that I would receive such high regard in the future, given the chance. In the meantime though, I shall follow through with his Initial Plans. I will monitor the progress of The Maverick Hunters and The Repliforce carefully. He trusts that my A.I Processor will allow me to decide which faction to join when the time comes.

The 11th - 14th Unit slowly file out of the cemetery towards their Squadron Carriers.

NARRATOR: (v.o) My only question is…. if both organizations are cooperatively working in tandem towards the same goal…. How will I know the difference…? I trust that this will be answered in time. Or perhaps that is just another mystery to life, that I’ve yet to discover…

As most of the Reploids in attendance clear the area, Captain shakes General’s large hand with two of his own. Their Silver and Gold bodies shine against the sun as the whiskers on their faces bear an uncanny resemblance. Although General is approximately 3 feet taller than him, Captain cannot help but smile at his Repliforce counterpart and like him more, simply out of vanity.

CAPTAIN: Thank you for coming.

GENERAL: Of course. I wish I could stay and join you for the reception, but I must return to Headquarters.

CAPTAIN: No worries, General. We shall meet for lunch another time.. I must be on my way as well.

-pan over a short distance from the two-

Colonel, the General’s second in command, and his sister Iris stay behind to make sure X and Zero are okay.

IRIS: This is so sad!! How are we going to live without him now!!? Everything’s going to be so different!

X sniffles at her raw display of emotion.

She buries her head into Zero’s chest, who comforts her with a light rub on the back.

ZERO: I know, I know…. But its gonna be alright. All we have is each other now…

Colonel gives Zero a crooked look out of his periphery. Innocent as it may be, the sight of Zero's hand running through her long hair while rubbing her back bothers him.

X’s tears stream down his cheeks very slowly as he lets them go. He needs them for release at this point. Otherwise he felt like he would internally combust.

COLONEL: Are you okay, X?

X: (shaken) I… I will be.

Colonel marvels at the state of X. No other reploid has ever been designed to emote at such a capacity. So what made him so special?

X: (crying, upset) It’s just… He was.. like a. ff..ahAhather to me.. And now he’s gone!!!!

X could not contain his sadness any longer. Embarrassing as his sobbing might be, with each sniffle, a brief wave of relief would pass over him, before the weight of his loss came down once again.

Colonel places a firm hand on X’s shoulder.

COLONEL: Don’t cry, X. There’s nothing more you can do…

IRIS: Don’t say that. He doesn’t need to hear that right now!

ZERO: Its true…

IRIS: Hey!! That’s not nice!

X: Its okay Iris.. I know what they mean.

ZERO: Stay strong brother. We're gonna get through this.

X: I know…

X becomes numb as his drying tears swell his cheeks, just under the eyelids.

COLONEL: Gentlemen, if there’s anything that we can do…. Please let us know. We are here for you.

X nods and lets out a short smile.

X: Thank you, I know…

COLONEL: The Repliforce are your brothers in arms and comrades in life. Do not forget that the good Doctor created Iris and I as well. That means that the link between us can never be severed!

X smiles again and nods feeling better.

ZERO: Thanks Colonel. Its great to know that you have our back when we're down. We're not really used to that.

X: You were.. a great help to us on Laguz Island, last week. Thank you for everything.

ZERO: (smiling) What, this guy!? He didn’t do anything. His troops did all the work!

Zero mocks the Colonel in jest as Iris gasps.

COLONEL: Excuse me?

ZERO: (mocking) All you had to do was sit in your fancy chair next to General, I bet!!

IRIS: (offended, worried) Zero!!

ZERO: Relaax, I’m only kidding. Cernie knows that.

COLONEL: …Who do you think sent Out those troops and directed them you nit-wit!? …and don’t call me that! I already told you. No nicknames in public…

Colonel starts to lighten up and show a bit of good humor as he adjusts his hat with a sheepish grin.

Zero shares a look with the Colonel and they both burst out laughing.

X’s emotions jump from worried to confused. Unsure as to why or how, for some reason Zero was very chummy with the Repliforce Colonel. X believes it might have had something to do with their training sessions this summer.

GENERAL: (calling out) Colonel! …Time to go.

Colonel turns to his superior and offers a respectful salute.

COLONEL: Yes sir.

He turns back around.

COLONEL: Well, I must be going. You take care of yourselves; especially you, X.

He turns around and walks away.

ZERO: Hey Colonel! We still on for sparring on Tuesday?

COLONEL: You know it, bud.

With that, Colonel runs off to the General and teleports away with him.

IRIS: I'd like to stick around for the reception if that’s okay with you…

Zero's eyes brighten up as his smile grows wider.

ZERO: (excited) Yeah! That sounds great.

He looks at Iris and puts his arm around her. Then he starts to lead them to the front gate.

She rests her head on his impressive bust as her cheeks flush into a rosy red complexion.

X follows behind the two with a melancholy face.

X: (v.o, thinking, sighing) Oh Marty… We were never like that, but Damn do I miss you…

-a purple flash blinks on the screen-

X: (whispering) God Damn it, Berkana…

NARRATOR: (v.o) Recently the Maverick Hunters and the Repliforce have endured a hardship at Laguz Island. Berkana, a once respected Scientist, unethically experimented with artificial reploid resurrection. She did so by taking the existing DNA Souls, or 'Erasures', of ordinary reploid citizens and placing them into the bodies of formerly deceased Mavericks. Within minutes, every Maverick the Hunters had ever defeated were alive once again. This became known as “The Erasure Incident”. But they had help in the Repliforce…

A large reploid with slicked back blonde hair sits at a table with a stamp, quickly reviewing the paperwork of new Repliforce Recruits. His nametag reads “RED”.

In line, SPIRAL PEGASUS and JET STINGRAY are waiting to be cleared for duty.

After looking everything over carefully, Red firmly stamps both forms, looks up at the two and smiles.

RED: Okay! Jet Stingray and Spiral Pegasus. Welcome to Repliforce. Your Commanding Officers are in the next room.

He shakes their hands and points them to the door, where they meet their Team Leaders TIDAL WHALE and STORM OWL in the next room. Standing by them are team leaders; SLASH BEAST and FROST WALRUS.

A grainy image of a Repliforce air carrier looming over Laguz Island appears. The back hatch is open to reveal the team ready for battle.

At each dash, quick grainy images of the Repliforce attacking Mavericks on Laguz Island pass by.

NARRATOR: (v.o) With the help of /Storm Owl, /Spiral Pegasus, /Slash Beast, /Burn Dino-Rex, /Tidal Whale, /Jet Stingray and an Ex-Maverick Hunter known as /Web Spider, the Repliforce were able to defeat every revived Maverick by nightfall.

/Storm Owl clashes cyclones against tornadoes with Storm Eagle.

/Spiral Pegasus blasts heavy winds at Flame Stag.

/Slash Beast savagely slashes Gravity Beetle to death.

/Burn Dino-Rex roasts Morph Moth.

/Tidal Whale overpowers Wheel Gator.

/Jet Stingray destroys Bubble Crab.

/Web Spider feeds on Armored Armadillo's fried corpse.

NARRATOR: (v.o) Maverick Hunter X and Zero were able to quell the threat of Berkana within 24 hours. But there was another threat too, that came to everyone as a surprise. It was what caused my creator's heart attack. And given his data files… I'm not entirely convinced that he won’t return from the grave once again...

INT. BIO LABORATORY – DAY

In a dark, dank Lab room, ISOC, a tall, sinister Reploid Researcher with red eyes and a distinguished white beard works with his new partner.

????: Muahahahaha! At last the time has come!!

The small mushroom-themed reploid rubs his hands in anticipation.

ISOC: Yes, Split Mushroom. It’s time to bring our master to the physical plane.

SPLIT MUSHROOM: Hehehehe!! I can hardly wait.

On the large display monitor, SIGMA can be seen in his virus grid-like form, with a large purple aura surrounding his large face. Standing next to him is CYBER PEACOCK, who looks pleased. While Sigma failed to destroy the Hunters on the physical plane, he was able to successfully revive him in cyber space.

SIGMA: (filtered) I trust that you have created the form I designed this time?

Isoc and Split Mushroom look at the body behind them lying dormant on a work table. It is draped underneath a thick black cloak.

ISOC: Yes sir. We followed every specification you desired.

SIGMA: Splendid. Then let’s get on with it.

ISOC: Indeed.

He types in commands and points to Split Mushroom who quickly runs to another console and pulls a lever.

A pointed terminal from the ceiling slowly points toward the body as the device warms up with power.

SPLIT MUSHROOM: (grinning) Hehehee! Very soon, very soon!

ISOC: Stand by. Priming the converter.

The triangular tip of the ceiling terminal opens up to display a pointed barrel of a laser gun.

ISOC: Get ready for transfer… Applying the DNA Signature...

A mechanical cylinder within the barrel of the terminal glows with purple energy. On the display monitor, Sigma's large head slowly begins to stretch and funnel through a digital terminal.

SIGMA: Whoa whoa whoooaaaa!

ISOC: You’re going to feel a pinch, sir. Be patient. Not much longer now.

SIGMA: Ohhh, God!

His purple energy and grid-like face flatten into a straight line as he is virtually siphoned from the Cyber Network and his DNA Signature is transferred into the Energy Converter behind them.

SIGMA: Aaaaagh!

SPLIT MUSHROOM: He's in!

SIGMA: Note to self. If I EVER die again.. I need to learn how to phase through the Network in my Virus Form.

ISOC: Fire on my Mark.

Isoc rushes over to the body and makes sure that it is lined up in proximity to the Energy Converter. Then he shuffles a safe distance away and looks over to his assistant.

ISOC: Now!!

Split Mushroom fires the device and successfully blasts a ray of Sigma's DNA Signature into his new body.

The dormant body on the table comes to life with a spasm. He jerkily sits up on the table as he slings the cloak around his back and puts his hood on. Turning to his right, Sigma plants his feet on the ground and slowly stands up. With the new cloak, he looks as foreboding as the Grim Reaper himself.

SIGMA: Heheheh. Thank you Gentlemen. That’s much better.

ISOC: It is our pleasure. Now that Berkana is out of the way, what is our new plan?

SIGMA: Hm.. As I stated before… This 'Repliforce' group could play a very strong hand in my favor this time around. If I could just find a way to manipulate them.

ISOC: Ahh. ..But as I have brought up before, I think it would be wiser to add numbers to our operation before we attempt to overthrow any Armies.

SIGMA: Don’t misunderstand me, Isoc. We won’t be overthrowing anyone. For now, we wait and gather information on the Repliforce. There is still much we do not know about them. I also agree that we could do with a little more.. company...

ISOC: Yes. Well, this is Split Mushroom - the Reploid who formerly owned this Laboratory. I rebuilt him as a Maverick to assist us in our efforts.

Split Mushroom looks up at them with an evil grin, eager to help.

SPLIT MUSHROOM: Split Mushroom! At your service.

He creates a duplicate of himself and they take a proud bow. Then they dive back into each other as a singular entity once again.

SIGMA: Hmph. I'm sure you could prove as a useful… distraction.

He gestures to the monitor screen, where Cyber Peacock is casually standing by.

SIGMA: You already know Cyber Peacock, I presume. Courtesy of the Late Doctor Doppler. I'm sure he'll prove to be quite an asset to us.

Cyber Peacock unfurls his sharp deadly tail feathers and grins at the screen.

ISOC: Mm, yes indeed.

Sigma walks over to the computer and pulls up a file labeled DN. On screen we are shown the blue print schematics of a bat-themed Reploid.

SIGMA: This is my latest design, Dark Necrobat. We need to build him and finish completion as soon as possible.

ISOC: Ooh, what a remarkable design! Where did this come from?

SIGMA: I worked on it before paying a visit to Laguz Island. If you and the Mushroom build him, I can focus my efforts on manipulating the Repliforce to do our bidding.

Isoc offers a sinister smile.

ISOC: Why stop there? Why not manipulate the Hunters as well to ensure that these two factions will both wipe each other out, completely!?

Sigma's eyes glow as they widen, impressed.

SIGMA: Ooh. I like the way you think. Yes… I think that could do just fine…

He strokes his chin and begins to grow inspired.

The General sits at a long table in a gigantic luxurious chair reading until he hears a knock on his door.

GENERAL: Hm?

The Colonel walks in, humbly and apologetically.

COLONEL: General, I'd hate to bother you, but I've received some disturbing news.

GENERAL: Hm?

COLONEL: Our intel indicates that Sigma is still alive, sir. And he’s requested an audience with you.

GENERAL: Then I shall meet with him.

COLONEL: But General, are you sure??

GENERAL: I have read his file. I am not intimidated by a Maverick whose true form seems to be that of a parasite.

Colonel's eyes widen.

COLONEL: But sir-

GENERAL: I find it sad, really. Why not sit with him and find out what he wants?

COLONEL: It could be a trap sir. What if he attacks you!?

General simply smiles.

GENERAL: That. Is something I'd like to see.

He cracks his knuckles as his huge hands create an echoing crack at the room. Then he folds them behind his head.

GENERAL: We shall discuss whatever he wants like civilized gentlemen. And if he tries anything, then that will be his last mistake. I assure you.

Colonel looks at his superior with shock and awe.

COLONEL: Sir. For all our sakes, I hope you are right.

GENERAL: Fear not. Let him in. Soon we will all know what this is about.

EXT/INT. REPLIFORCE SANCTUARY – Study - NIGHT

Thunder clashes on this stormy night, just outside of the Repliforce Sanctuary. Inside, the large Golden General sits at a long table in his Study. At the other end of the table is a cloaked figure who bears two eerie red scars across his face as lightning strikes against the window. Sigma was back from the dead, no doubt. But how?

SIGMA: It’s about the Maverick Hunters, General. They are far too eager to please the humans, and continue to hunt down the Reploids. Do you believe they pose a significant threat? GENERAL: …Perhaps… SIGMA: You already know the truth, General. Their sole mission has been to destroy any Reploids who fail to do as the humans order! GENERAL: Hmm… SIGMA: (insistent) It’s in your best interest to stop them now, before they turn on you! You possess enough power to /destroy them! At the dash a heavy bolt of thunder and lightning strikes from nearby, ominously. The General lets the bolt of lightning flash by. He is unfazed by it completely as he seems to stare down his guest. GENERAL: …You are dismissed.

SIGMA: (shocked) What?! GENERAL: I will not betray the humans. Remove yourself from my sight. My business with you has concluded…

SIGMA: (muttering, laughing) Eh, Heh heh heh… very well. But you will change your mind soon, I assure you! /Ha ha ha ha… HA HA HA HAH! At the dash, he gets up from his chair and walks away. A spark emits from Sigma’s staff, resembling that of a very sinister, scythe. It is at that moment, where the General almost feels as if he had been paid a visit from the Grim Reaper himself. Fortunately for him, he knows that logically such a thing could never possibly exist.

Once he is gone, the General slumps in his chair and places his large right hand against his temple. The Colonel knocks on his door and walks back in.

COLONEL: What happened sir?

GENERAL: …He means to start another war with the Maverick Hunters and the Humans. And he dared ask for my help!

COLONEL: What the-? He must be stopped!

GENERAL: No…

COLONEL: Huh?

GENERAL: The Maverick Hunters are our friends, but their battles are their own. We will only engage with Sigma if he personally attacks our Armies.

COLONEL: But sir!! At a time like this, we need to preserve Solidarity.

GENERAL: (shaking head, aggravated) We must remain Neutral.

COLONEL: Its what the Admiral would’ve wanted!!

GENERAL: (piqued) Well I’m not the Admiral!!! All Leadership Programs have been placed in me!! And I determine what’s best for us. Not you. Is that understood?

Colonel stares at his superior and slowly salutes his commanding officer.

COLONEL: My apologies sir. I will leave you to your thoughts.

He abruptly turns around and walks toward the door.

COLONEL: (v.o, thinking) The Maverick Hunters.. X and Zero…! If Sigma comes after you again, I hope you’ll be prepared for him. For I fear that we may not be much help this time around…

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE – Training Room - DAY

Caption: November 5th, 2120 - TODAY

X stands in the middle of the Training room and channels all of his power. A white-goldish aura surrounds his body as his normal blue armor is coated in white light by his helmet, chest, arms and legs.

X: Hee-yah!

In a flash of power, X transforms into his Third Armor where he continues to power up.

X: (v.o, thinking) That’s it X. Just keep pushing. Dig deeper into your Potential. (aloud) AaaaAAAHHHH!!!!! HYPER MODE!!

X’s armor coats itself in Gold as his aura is shrouded in a continuously charged state.

X bends his knees and prepares to test his powers once again. Despite this time of Peace, X has learned the hard way that he must continue to train his body in order to maintain his fullest potential.

X: /Yah!!

X dashes around the room across the floor and through the air at all angles as he leaves a trail of golden light behind him.

X: (v.o, thinking) Whatever comes next… I need to be Ready! (aloud) /Hah! /Yah!!

X /punches the air, then turns around with a /kick.

X: (v.o, thinking) Doppler’s Army and his Nightmare Police almost ended us! Then Berkana revived every reploid including an even more-powerful Sigma… Never again. NEVER AGAIN!!

X rages as he air-dashes high in the air, and feels his power heat up through his dash. The reminder of his latest battle with Sigma burns him at his core, and he feels that heat begin to release itself externally.

X: AAAAGH!!!!

X’s Golden Armor fades into a darker shade of bronze and brown at his core, as his outer aura begins to turn purple. He performs a flaming dash that exhausts his entire system and causes his armor to neutralize itself back into his blue form.

X: Whoa!! /Ughgh!

He puts his hands out as his body /slams to the ground.

X: (panting, exhausted) Ah.. hah. I.. can’t… Ugh… I can’t do it yet.

X slowly rises to his feet as he wipes the sweat off of his face.

X: There is definitely a higher plateau to be achieved… I just can’t do it in this armor…

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE – Meeting Room – NIGHT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

MAGMA DRAGOON: YES! I KNEW IT!! Finally. We’ve got some dirt on the Repliforce!

TURIAN: Hm??

At the 14th Unit Meeting Room, Magma Dragoon and his Unit continue to investigate the Repliforce’s activity at the surmised request of the deceased Dr. Cain. In his final evaluation report, Dr. Cain declared “REPLIFORCE v3 proven ineffective and potentially dangerous,” however the reasoning for this report remained a mystery until now.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Its Burn Dino-Rex! I can’t believe it! I KNEW something was off with him and here it is!!

FRENZY FOXKIT: What are you on about, boss?

TETHLON: What did you find??

MAGMA DRAGOON: He has an Illegal Weapons Warehouse located in Southeastern Kenya and Repliforce doesn’t know anything about it. He’s funding their own crime-prevention! If word of this gets out, their whole organization is finished!!!

FRENZY FOXKIT: Whoooa.

BLIZZARD: Oh my God.

BLAZE: This is huge!!

TURIAN: So what do you want to do??

MAGMA DRAGOON: I’m gonna pay the Maverick a visit myself. Have a little talk with him; Reptile to Reptile.

TURIAN: …You don’t want us to go with you?

MAGMA DRAGOON: No. I can handle this myself.

BLIZZARD: What!? But why??

MAGMA DRAGOON: Maybe we can negotiate and handle this peacefully for once. The rest of the Repliforce are clean as a whistle and they were an immense help to us on Laguz Island.

FREEZE ALOPEX: But he’s a Maverick! What if he fights you??

MAGMA DRAGOON He’s a Fire Element like me. He can’t hurt me….

BLAZE: (insisting) By that logic, I’m a fire too! At least let me go with you.

Magma Dragoon stubbornly shakes his head.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Nope. I just want to talk to him. I’ll make those intentions very clear. Coming as a full group would create a hostile environment. And then you’d all be a liability if he doesn’t cooperate.

TURIAN: Hmph. Well, it looks like you’ve made up your mind then…. Good luck, sir.

EXT. SOUTH EASTERN KENYA – Illegal Weapons Warehouse – DAY

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Magma Dragoon teleports into the area and averts his eyes from the sun. He walks amidst the patchy dirt looking for Burn Dino-Rex amongst a series of warehouses.

After a moment, he spots Burn Dino-Rex placing a crate of ammunition down in front of a huge stack of crates. Then Burn Dino-Rex closes the gate behind him.

MAGMA DRAGOON: (casual) Hey…

BURN DINO-REX: (surprised) WHAT!?

He immediately turns around and gives Dragoon a look of fear.

Magma Dragoon takes out a badge and holds it in front of him.

MAGMA DRAGOON: (smiling) Maverick Hunter Special Investigations Unit. Got a minute to talk?

BURN DINO-REX: I.. have nothing to say to you!

He immediately guards himself, ready for battle.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Now lets take it easy, friend. Engaging into battle will get us nowhere. We’re both Fires.

BURN DINO-REX: (powering up) Hmmm, I don’t care!!!

He powers up into an aura of flame and dashes after him.

Magma Dragoon sighs and readies himself.

MAGMA DRAGOON: (sighing) So much for that…

He charges into a flame aura of his own and catches his hands, as they begin to pursue each other in a power struggle.

BURN DINO-REX: How did you find me!? No one knows that I’m here!!!

MAGMA DRAGOON: I’m a detective. It’s my job to know things like this.

BURN DINO-REX: You’re going to wish you never found me!

MAGMA DRAGOON: Is that a fact?

Magma Dragoon puts his right foot behind Burn Dino-Rex’s right leg and trips him to the ground, while still holding onto his arms. The abrasive trip turns the move into a tackle as he holds him down on the ground.

BURN DINO-REX: Agh.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Stand down. I just.. want to.. talk!

BURN DINO-REX: Never!

He blasts a heavy wave of fire out of his mouth, which causes Magma Dragoon to lose his grip and cough.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Aghhh. –kuh- -kugh- Come on man!!

Burn Dino-Rex punches him off and gets up.

BURN DINO-REX: Lets go!

MAGMA DRAGOON: (getting up) Ahh. No! You’re a member of the Repliforce who is engaging in Illegal Activities! You have no ground here!

BURN DINO-REX: You just had to stick your nose in my business. Now I have to kill you.

MAGMA DRAGOON: No you don’t. Our factions are allies. If word of this got out, your whole organization would be compromised.

BURN DINO-REX: That’s why I cannot allow you to live.

Magma Dragoon shakes his head.

MAGMA DRAGOON: No man. You don’t get it. You can’t hurt me. And we can’t be seen fighting!

BURN DINO-REX: Hahahaha. You’re scared. I get it..

He pounds a fist into his hand.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Hah. Hardly… I came here to help you out, you moron. I tried to be nice and civil. Maybe cut a deal with you. …But if you’re too dimwitted to see that, then forget it. I’ll just have to beat it out of you to cooperate.

BURN DINO-REX: Hrrraaaaahhhh!

MAGMA DRAGOON: Nyaaaaaahhhhh!!!!

The two flame up and run after each other with burning hands of fire.

MAVERICK HUNTER BASE – Meeting Room – NIGHT

Turian, Tethlon, Blizz, Blaze, Frenzy Foxkit and Freeze Alopex watch the footage of Magma Dragoon’s failing negotiation with worried faces.

FRENZY FOXKIT: Aw no!!

BLIZZ & BLAZE: Shit.

TURIAN: I knew this was gonna happen!

TETHLON: What now??

FREEZE ALOPEX: Don’t interfere…!

They all turn to her.

14th UNIT: What?

FREEZE ALOPEX: He doesn’t want us there. You heard him. We’d only be a liability.

BLIZZARD: Are you out of your mind?

BLAZE: What the Hell is wrong with you!?

FREEZE ALOPEX: Excuse me?

BLIZZARD: We have other powers than him. Hell, if you and I double-teamed him, maybe we could stop him for good.

FREEZE ALOPEX: And what good would that do, huh? The Repliforce are supposed to be our allies. Doing that would only create problems.

BLIZZARD: Not if they knew all the facts…

TETHLON: (nervous, hopeful) L-Lets not give up hope yet… Dragoon’s doing pretty okay out there. Maybe he can.. calm him down and.. t-talk him out of it.

Just then, the power goes out for a second and comes back on. The Satelitte Feed has cut off and only shows static.

FRENZY FOXKIT: What the-?

BLIZZ & BLAZE: Shiiiit!

TETHLON: The power went out.

TURIAN: Damn it! We’re offline. We won’t be able to track his progress now.

FREEZE ALOPEX: That’s a sign! Let’s just leave it alone. He’s got this and doesn’t want us there. Those were his orders.

BLAZE: …coward.

FREEZE ALOPEX: You know what? I don’t have to take this. Until I hear otherwise from our Leader, I’m outta here. And you should all respect his wishes too.

She opens the door and walks out of the room.

BLAZE: Hah! Look at her go!! …Bitch.

Frenzy Foxkit turns to her, shaken to his core.

FRENZY FOXKIT: Are you KIDDING ME!!? That’s my Sister!! You guys are… Unbelievable!!!

He grips his Spark Whip extra tight and resists the urge to hit her with it. Or to hit something anyway. Instead he just runs out of the room and follows his sister.

TETHLON: Aw jeez… Now look at what you did.

BLAZE: Shut up Tethlon!

TURIAN: ALL OF YOU. BE QUIET!!!

The group looks at him shocked.

TURIAN: I get that tensions are high right now, but I’m very disappointed in you right now.

BLAZE: We need to-

TURIAN: (Authoritative) We will WAIT HERE, until the System Reboots. …Then we’ll decide whether or not we need to intervene.

EXT. SOUTH EASTERN KENYA – Illgegal Warehouse - DAY

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Magma Dragoon dashes after Burn Dino-Rex and throws flaming fists at him.

MAGMA DRAGOON: /Hrrgh, /grr, /rrr!

Burn Dino-Rex blocks them all as he backs up with a grin on his face. He turns to whip him with his fiery tail, but Magma Dragoon jumps up and flame kicks him hard in the head.

BURN DINO-REX: Kaaaugh.

Burn Dino-Rex gets dizzy and falls to the ground as his head hits a hard rock. The knock to his gears cause Dino-Rex to go into stasis as his eyes become vacant.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Oh shit… He’s out cold. Well good. That means I can finally talk to him when he comes to. Let’s see…

He looks around to see if there is an open warehouse where they can talk. He’s also probably going to need to tie him down or something.

Just then, Sigma teleports in.

SIGMA: My my… Well done Magma Dragoon!

Magma Dragoon turns around and is spooked by the sight of him. He feels like he just spotted a ghost.

MAGMA DRAGOON: (spooked) Haw!!

His eerie red scars glimmer through the black cloak as his blue eyes glow.

SIGMA: Well… I was kind of hoping to do this with Burn Dino-Rex, but this works out much better, I think.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Wha- What the… Who are you?? Are you his weapons contact???

SIGMA: HAHAHAHAH. Don’t be absurd.

Sigma takes out his scythe and stabs Magma Dragoon with it right in the chest.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Gaaa-aaa-aaa-aa-aahh!!!!

Magma Dragoon is shocked at his core as dark purple energy seems to seep into his armor.

SIGMA: You have a lot of darkness in you. I can sense it. You always have..

MAGMA DRAGOON: (confused, hurt) D-..darkness?

He tries to grip the scythe and fight it, but it just shocks his hand. He has no choice but to bear the pain and succumb to the darkness within. He falls to his knees.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Gaaaaah.

SIGMA: Yeees. That’s it. Look further into yourself and think about what it is that you really want.

MAGMA DRAGOON: …to be the strongest.

He grins evilly.

SIGMA: Yes. You want to be the best.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Better than… X.. and Zero!! It should be ME!!!

SIGMA: Yeeess. That’s it. Now you’re beginning to see.

Magma Dragoon looks up and squints his eyes at the cloaked figure. Then he starts to realize who he’s speaking to.

MAGMA DRAGOON: You’re Sigma!

SIGMA: Yes. It is I… Come to reap your soul and show you the way.

Magma Dragoon nods his head in agreement, corrupted.

MAGMA DRAGOON: (dark, epiphany) I DO want to fight them. I want to defeat them. I always wanted to!! Just to wipe that smug look off of their faces.

SIGMA: Hahahaha!! I can give you that chance… I can grant you that power. If you just do one thing for me.

He looks up at his dark master in awe.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Name it.

SIGMA: Take down the Sky Lagoon.

MAGMA DRAGOON: ..The Research Colony? Why??

SIGMA: A grand gesture such as that marks the perfect return of Lord Sigma to his adoring public!!

Magma Dragoon looks up at him in awe.

MAGMA DRAGOON: O..okay. I’ll do it.

SIGMA: Splendid!

He takes his scythe out from his core and allows Magma Dragoon to stand.

MAGMA DRAGOON: (mystified, brainwashed, perplexed) But first… I h-had.. unfinished business here… with /him!

He looks down at Burn Dino-Rex and points at his comatose body once he remembers why he was there.

SIGMA: Yes. Please attend to your business. I’ll see to it that he cooperates with you completely.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Huh?

SIGMA: Not only will you two agree to keep this little operation hush hush, but in turn, he will allow you to join the Repliforce. That way everyone here can reeeeally learn to trust each other!

He puts an unsettlingly soothing hand on Magma Dragoon’s shoulder as he leads him towards Burn Dino-Rex.

Sigma reaps Burn Dino-Rex’s soul with his scythe and injects his own dark influence into his core, just like he did with Magma Dragoon.

SIGMA: There. That should wake him up.

CYBER PEACOCK: (o.s, filtered) Lord Sigma! Come in.

Sigma receives a com-link from his faithful servant, Cyber Peacock.

SIGMA: (whispering) What is it Peacock?

CYBER PEACOCK: (o.s, filtered) I’m holding the signal for as long as you need, but if we want to make this look authentic, you need to leave soon.

SIGMA: Very well. I’ve done what is necessary.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Hm?

Sigma turns to his new pawn and smiles.

SIGMA: It is time for me to take my leave. But when the time is right you shall receive my signal. And then we will all get what we want.

Magma Dragoon offers a crooked smile, as Sigma disappears.

Standing in front of Burn Dino-Rex’s fallen body, he looks down at his fist with a dark grin.

MAGMA DRAGOON: (v.o, thinking) Soon, X and Zero. I will show you how powerful I really am!

Turian, Tethlon, Blizzard and Blaze gasp as the satellite feed finally links back up to their monitor.

TETHLON: (gasp) Hey it’s back!

TURIAN: Finally… That took longer than usual.

BLIZZARD: Heeey guys look! He did it.

BLAZE: (smiling) Son of a bitch. He pulled it off.

TETHLON: Hahaha, look at him! He’s so smug, I love it.

Turian runs over to the console and com-links into Magma Dragoon.

TURIAN: Sir! You did it!!

EXT. SOUTH EASTERN KENYA – Illegal Warehouses – DAY

Magma Dragoon stirs at the sudden sound of his companion’s voice.

MAGMA DRAGOON: Huh!?

TURIAN: (o.s, filtered) We lost the feed there for a second, but it looks like everything turned out all right!

MAGMA DRAGOON: (dark) Heheh. HAHAHAH!!! Yeees, it did. Now if you’ll excuse me, I still need to talk to this worthless piece of garbage.

TETHLON: (o.s, filtered, stoked) Hahaha, ohhh man! He is fired Up!!

Magma Dragoon smiles at this.

MAGMA DRAGOON: I’ll be home soon guys. Closing Communication now.

He walks over to Burn Dino-Rex and grabs him by the collar of his armor.

-Freeze Frame. Grainy Effect-

NARRATOR: (v.o) Unknown to the Maverick Hunters, Magma Dragoon has been possessed by Sigma! Unknown to the Repliforce, Burn Dino-Rex has been illegally storing and selling weapons to crime organizations all around the World. What this Secret Partnership between Sigma, Dragoon and Dino-Rex may result in, I do not know. But it doesn’t bode well for our future. That is for sure.
