Hello everyone!

After the success of Jegulus Big Bang 2024, we are back for a new run opening this month! We decided to move the schedule up a bit this year, as a lot of our deadlines overlapped with the holiday period and we are hoping an earlier timeframe will make it easier for those participating!

The blog has been updated with the new schedule, if you were wondering when deadlines will be, and sign ups will open on March 15th!

There have been some changes this year! As this is our second run, all author's who sign up will need to provide a link to a completed minimum 20,000 word fic that they have published (this can be for any fandom).

Another important change is the mod team. I am so appreciative of all the work the mods put into the last run, the Big Bang wouldn't have existed without them, and I am sad to see them go (though hopefully they'll still be joining us in the fest, just in a different capacity)! This run I (Shan @pissmotif) will be returning as a mod, with Em (@emlovessid) joining the mod team for the first time!

We look forward to seeing what you all create this year, and are so excited to be bringing it back for a second round!

We can't wait for another round, completing half a decade of this fest!

Halloweek Day 1! New Regulus Video!

Crux (voiced by LoveBoldly on YouTube) is telling the listener to "keep holding on, 'they' are coming to help."

Listener wakes, to Regulus' delight. He acknowledges their bodily need for sleep, and the many other things a human body needs, promising to take care of Listener by providing those things.

Crux interrupts Regulus, informing the Listener that Regulus is not aware that Crus is in Listener's mind.

The line between Regulus and Listener is "blurring" which means that "it" is working, according to Regulus. He says that 'they' told him that it's a bad thing when the line blurs, but he believes that 'they' were wrong.

Regulus continues to say his typical manipulative shit to Listener. Crux says that 'we' can get them free of Regulus with a little more time, and that the Listener just needs to "hold on."

Regulus continues with his manipulations, and Crux tells listener to "open the door," and he means it literally, to get up and open the door (of Listener's home?).

Lots of good metaphors from Regulus (love the "paper empire" lines) and good sound mixing in the audio. Just a note from me lol, Erik is a good writer and editor

Crux says that opening the door will destabilize Regulus' ward. Regulus is being a bit more aggressive now, but not out right hostile. Crux encourages Listener further...

Listener seems to be fighting Regulus pretty hard. Crux continues his encouragement and Regulus begs for Listener to stop.

Regulus begins to boil over until...the door opens.

'Crux' says "you made the wrong choice." And Regulus follows with, "you failed the test...again."

Regulus promises that they will "try again."

Regulus knew he had a reputation.

He didn’t do “relationships”. He preferred casual. No attachments. 

This all changed when he started with James Potter though. 

Suddenly he found himself caring about the other man and wanting more than just a fling.

The look in James’ eyes had enough to make Regulus’ heart and knees go weak.

Regulus found himself even getting jealous when he spotted James chatting with other blokes. 

Finally, one day when Regulus had had enough, he grabbed James by his shirt and pulled him into a closet.

James had started to lean in but Regulus shook his head adamantly. 

“I want you,” Regulus demanded, “all to myself. I hate sharing.”

“So we’re dating now? What happened to ‘casual’?” James smirked down at him.

Regulus put a finger on James’ chest. “I told you, I hate sharing.”

James chuckled as he leaned over and locked the closet door.

The moment of space was all she needed to correct her footing and prepare for his immediate counterstrike. Once more, he forced her on the defensive, fists and feet flying in a flurry of attacks without mercy. She needed to find an opening; he would inevitably wear her down before long.

Rage and reason finally wove together, enough to allow her to begin to think more clearly about her tactics. It allowed her to ignore his taunts and focus on gaining ground instead of continuing their stalemate or, worse, losing it.

With a semblance of her focus regained, she caught one fist and then the next in her hands, the impact smarting against her palms. In the same breath, she swung her leg straight upward for his chin, hoping to take advantage of her longer legs.

As Nabooru unleashed her fiery energy, Vegeta's expression hardened with determination. Dodging the arc of energy with a fluid movement, he didn't waste a moment before retaliating. Closing the gap between them, he delivered a lightning-fast series of strikes.

His fists flew with precision, once again aiming for Nabooru's defenses with calculated accuracy. Each blow carried the weight of years of training and battle experience, a testament to his unwavering determination to push both himself and his opponent to their limits.

In the midst of their fierce exchange, Vegeta couldn't help but be impressed by Nabooru's resilience. Her determination was evident in every movement, her refusal to back down only fueling his desire to see her reach her full potential.

"Is that all you've got?" he taunted, his tone laced with contempt "Pathetic. I expected more from someone who claims to be a warrior."

Thank you so much for asking! The mods are super thankful for all the love and enthusiasm for our little fest, but Microfic May will not be returning this year. Life happens, fandom changes, etc etc. We are so grateful to have the last 3 years of Microfic May, and we're happy to leave it at that.

Lily would LOVEEEEE the sims, she would ramble to Remus alll about her current save file. She rambles to James sometimes but the look on his face always made her stumble (he was torn between being horrified and horrendously down bad because why were these storylines so insane and why does Lily look so hot when she’s being passionate about them). But Remus gets it. He plays sometimes as well but not on her level. She also likes to talk to regulus about it because he sits there looking unbothered then offers her a mind blowingly good idea for progressing the story and remembers each sims name. He could probably make a PowerPoint on the lore from sheer memory if he had reason to. Mary keeps sending her cc posts and Marlene gives the most unhelpful but very entertaining commentary on her gameplay.

She has a huge cc folder and her laptop sounds like it’s trying to set off to fly to mars whenever she loads it up. She has half the gamepacks and frequently cusses out ea. She forced Remus to make her a spreadsheet so she can track her mods whenever the game updates and she runs that shit with terrifying intensity. Her storylines are complex and span several generations. She has a spreadsheet to track the family tree and can remember them each with shocking dedication. It’s impressive.

lily would love cigarettes but she’d only smoke them in secret so that she could still get mad at everyone else for smoking

mary would always have some peach or cherry flavored vape on her

marlene would be too scared to try smoking anything

dorcas would love anything mint/menthol, vapes or cigarettes

pandora would roll her own cigs or smoke out of a pipe or some shit

Hello everyone!

With this year's round finished, we are sad to announce that we are going to discontinue the Regulus Black Fest.

After 5 years, this was no easy decision, but we as mods no longer feel like we can give it the attention, enthusiasm, and work that it deserves. There are various factors for this, not least JK Rowlings ever-increasing bigotry, hatred, and violence.

This blog is going to stay as an archive, as will, at least for a while, the Discord Server. If people would like to organize their own version of a Regulus-centred event going forward, you do of course have our blessings and all that.

We thank you for an amazing 5 years!

Hello! Would anyone be interested in a Canon Marauders roleplay? you must be a minor, since that's what the mods decided they're comfortable with.

And when I say canon, I mean canon. All the characters will have to be as close to canon as possible. If you don’t know much about the character in canon, then you have to base your speculation on what we do know. It will all be canon, ships(expect Wolfstar), personalities(yes, including the characters that were canonically pricks), all of it. This means you will have to do your research on the character you want to play.

This doesn’t mean you won’t have creative liberties, of course. We know next to nothing about most of the Marauders era characters, so as long as your headcanons match the little we do know, then you can do whatever.

This is an experimental roleplay, and I know it sounds boring, but trust me. Learning about Regulus Black in canon and making headcanons based on what we know from just that was one of my hyperfixation for a reason. Not to mention wanting to learning about Ted Tonks, then realising we don’t know much of anything, and then comparing him and Tonks, and then searching Andromeda and basically minusing her from Tonks-I got Ted. Anyway- It’s really fun.

It also has a discord Roleplay! Not compulsory, just something on the side so we can get comfortable rping with each other out of the public eye.

The characters taken are: Regulus Black, Ted Tonks, Remus Lupin, Lily Evans, Pandora Rosier(we don’t canonically know if she was a Rosier but it gives us more to work with), Andromeda Black, Sirius Back, Bellatrix Black and Evan Rosier.
