I’m back 🐶 thank you for being patient, things are relatively back to normal! Anyways I got some drawings… it’s the actual D&D au now! I’ve got plenty of ideas, but for now this is Alaska and Maine! Alaska is a Druid, circle of stars though his race is unknown (I also don’t have any general cloth ideas for him). It is noted he is very bird-like tho, no wings because he can just have a wild shape/starry form with a pair. Maine is a half human half beast, he’s quite prickly because unfortunately even in this au he still has to deal with the northeast 😒 (long rants of ideas below)

I also have other ideas for other states, but I haven’t drawn them yet. For New Jersey I’m thinking like Nevada he is a fae folk but of a bee; and he was born with deformed and torn wings that resemble the Jersey devil’s. But due to his deformity his “hive” decided to just toss him out because they wanted a big strong community with no one holding them back 😒 so maybe Jersey had to barely survive out there on his own, and in later years NY could’ve found him (I like to think he is a human knight, merely because instead of his bat he can have a sword) and took him in 😌 (and they were roommates)

Another idea I’ve got is for Texas! I would like to think he is a mostly human gunslinger who is legally blind (not totally blind, tho still very blind) but sees thru heat & taste, much like a snake does. Maybe he collects bounties, I haven’t really thought much for his lore yet 🤔 but he is one of the best gunslingers out there despite his disability!

Cali is also one I’ve thought up, I think he could be a dragon rider. A funny idea is that he has a scam where he and his dragon makes this whole act where he pretends to be a princess damsel in distress, being held captive by the big bag dragon and people who come and try to “save” him but it just ends up with Cali robbing them 😒 (love me a big flawed character)

As for Alaska, he’s as stated, a Druid of the circle of stars! He comes from an unknown island (just imagine irl state of Alaska except disconnected to any continent tbh) that’s gatekeeped gaslighted girlbossed because they don’t want no colonizers or anything ofc. But Alaska grew up hearing all about the other outside lands and he wanted to go see it! So one day he ventured into the continents (the one that contains all the other states except for Hawaii) and yaddy yadda; and Alaska is actually very curious and friendly in this au because he doesn’t have the trauma of outsiders 😌 he has a pet(s?) dog with three heads (ofc, Balto Togo and Fido) to accompany him! I haven’t designed his starry forms yet btw. And also he doesn’t really know how his Druid magic works somehow 🧎 it’s mostly innate and learned behaviors and habits and traditions. It just comes naturally to him! This is the biggest difference between him and Mass with magic, think of Alaska’s Druid magic as traditional and natural, meanwhile Mass’s sorcery as artificial and learned and studied magic. So it’s hard to say who between the two is better at magic

Maine is a half-human-half-beast, he faces discrimination because of it and there aren’t much others like him in at home land. He mostly doesn’t care but the occasional person really gets to him. Not really sure why he is half beast yet tho I don’t have the lore for that. Mass keeps trying to pester Maine about learning magic, as Mass is one of the best magic users in his region (and he’s quite boastful/egotistical because of it) so he believes Maine might be really good too, and Mass wants him to be able to know it when in times of need, but Maine doesn’t really listen 🙄 though he is nimble and quite good at sneaking!

My last minor ideas is that Ginny is a great swordsman (race undecided), Mass is probably a human sorcerer, Nevada is a fae folk, Ny is a human knight, and Hawaii 🤔 some sorta sea/ocean critter maybe? Dunno yet. Anyways I hope these ideas are cool and that you guys like them! I also want to mention I probably wont post daily still, I wanna do what’s comfortable for me.

Just for fun but What's your favourite and least favourite Danganronpa entries?

What do you mean by entries? As in like which game do I like the most?

I'd probably say the second one, but the fact that its a sequel is Really important to me too. Like it works as a sequel Really Well, playing on tropes and expectations the player has developed from the first game that was Really Fun for me personally. As someone who doesnt play a ton of video games and is more used to pokemon type protags who are mostly blank slates, I really liked getting to see how different Hajime was from Makoto and that they werent just the same character in a different font like Id expected.

Not to mention the replay value!! I haven't replayed it yet obvi, but I know there was a lot there that flew over my head cuz I didnt know all the context yet. So once I decide to play it again its gonna be really fun.

I also really like ultra despair girls, I mean certain parts have made me really uncomfortable but like actually playing the game is really fun and a nice change of pace from the visual novel styles of the rest of the games. Even if the junk monokumas are absolutely terrifying and disgusting. Not a game you could enjoy without the other 2 existing tho.

I think my least favorite by default is V3 or the anime if im allowed to count that. V3 is really interesting and has a lot of compelling characters, but I don't like it as a follow up game. Its messaging and themes are messy and kinda vindictive in a way that made me disappointed more often then not. The idea of a copycat reliving the glory of previous killing games is really cool, but the commentary on fandom was bleh.

My problem with the anime is literally just that I didnt think Junko was characterized in a way that properly showed off how capable and conniving she is. Like a bit of brainwashing is fine but its relied on SO heavily that it loses her points imo. I wanted to see more of her manipulating and blackmailing people. Where was the gaslight gatekeep girlbossing!!! (UDG does this better and junko doesnt even make a real appearance in it outside of the Warriors' flashbacks)

Over the Garden Wall - Dante's inferno, but instead of Hell, it's in new england. A beautiful animated classic with great characters, funny moments, and a mysterious spooky vibe

Epithet Erased Season 1 - A hilarious, very unserious youtube animation with a TTRPG-based style. Giovanni Potage is gender (addendum: brendan blaber kinda sucks. epithet erased is still good tho)

They're like toys she wants to play with, put in new scenarios to dance around in and see how they'll react. Once she learns enough, maybe they'll be thrown away. It's almost like she views herself as separate from them, though not necessarily above. Simply something different. Hello again! I've actually written the down some of my "Jason and the Spraypaint 'Thief'" idea tho its mostly scaffolding and i dont feel ready to share it just yet, but progress is being made!

If I may ask for your advice once more, the story has begun leaning towards Anger Management vibes (thanks for that brainrot too (affectionate)), but i dont feel great that the genesis of Jason and Jazz meeting is after Jason basically stalks Jazz in his hunt for whoever is buying his spraypaint before he can. Like, she is the one buying the paint, but the dynamic feels too onesided atm in terms of agency, but idk what Jazz would be doing that could parallel Jason.

The best Ive got is she tried to find out who bought out the yarn she was knitting with (it was Jason being petty), but I dont think she'd care as much as Jason does with the paint and it also feels too samey.

...Just had this thought while writing this, would it vibe with Jazz's character if she kept tabs on the Batfam for Danny? Like in terms of location. Ive got it that Danny dosnt want anything to do with the Batfam atm, Gothem is their turf fighting-wise and he dosnt want to encroach on that (tho he does help people in need when he comes across them), he just wants to make cool art in weird places (and maybe some ghost king stuff, not sure on that just yet) (maybe as a coping mechanism bc I do like the angst that comes from 'Danny leaves Amity bc the Fentons reactly badly to him being a halfa', tho still not sure how he gets into spraypaint yet, that feels like an important detail), so Jazz keeps tabs on their patrols for Danny so he can spraypaint without drawing their attention, and then Jazz notices Red Hood acting a bit odd and does her own investigating to make sure its not ghost business (she would know that RH has ghost vibes from Danny and his current spraypaint investigating behaviour maybe looks like a ghost obsession without context), and maybe she ends up pulling a Tim and figures out Red Hood is Jason, just due to ghost vibes instead of acrobatics.

I havent even gotten to them actually meeting in my planning yey, its just discovery eachother from afar and general thoughts of 'thats the person Im looking for, they're kinda cute' so far. Current vauge idea is they meet in a fight, tho i might be biased bc i did recently reread 'cant help falling (in love with you)' (i think i said this before, but amazing story btw, eagerly waiting for the next chapter!)

I hope this makes sense. This is the first time I've had an idea I've wanted to share with other fandom people and felt comfy enough to do so.

I see what you mean about there being a power imbalance in their meeting situation - but we have to be aware that the source material is like that. Jason is a crime fighter and a vigilante and also a very extra boy. He is petty and arrogant and sometimes he is not above using his skills for personal use.

You can make it so she knows what's going on and leads him in a wild goose chase just for funsies. Make Jazz petty as well. Make her highly competent. Make her win in his own game and boom, no more power imbalance. (Also that can be a cool "I need to know more of this woman" kind of situation.)

Another alternative, is making her think he is stalking her for unsavory purposes and beat the shit out of him.

I like what you said about Jazz being the one that keep tabs on all the vigilantes. She could have profiled them all, studied their patterns, and Tim Drake her way into memorizing their patrol routes so Danny can paint in peace.

So that's why when her new stalker starts bothering her, she is so Done(tm) that she is not afraid to gatekeep, gaslight, girlboss her way into making him stop.

How she does it? Dealer's choice.

(I'm weak to the fight approach, if it wasn't obvious (✿◡‿◡) )

(But outsmarting him could work as well.)

(Jason is into women that can kick his ass, be it physically or in smarts)

So in conclusion I think if you want to not fall into icky power imbalances and not fall into highly competent Mary Sues tropes, the sweet spot would be Jazz making the choice to take act or not, and base it on actual conflict: If she can't just beat the shit out of him, explain why. If she is not going to make a deal out of it, explain why. Make the character have agency and a choice in the matter, even if that choice is inaction.

-orochimaru (may get too distracted by The Science. may also vivisect other members if given the opportunity. probably has abandonment issues but will torture you to death if you ask)

-black zetsu (mommy issues. will probably call you slurs. lies a LOT. needs to be supervised if only for damage control. uses it/its pronouns but doesn't really care too much)

-karin (might get bit. or develop unhealthy attachments to emotionally unavailable men. excellent at gaslight and gatekeep, too much of a failgirl to achieve girlboss)

-suigetsu (usually fine so long as he's kept hydrated, but enjoys pissing people off too much to be truly safe. craves destruction. could probably function just fine if he wanted to tho)

-madara (wants to fight his fuckbuddy and fuck his fightbuddy. they are the same person. if left alone will sulk in a cave for a few decades about this. also grandpa needs his meds. might steal some eyeballs)

-tobi (might try to eat poop)

akatsuki members (and affiliates) who can probably be left unattended for a bit:

-kakuzu (might sell your organs but only if it's worth the time it would take him to extract them. will probably snap and kill you if you don't give him some space anyway)

-kabuto (might develop a psychosexual obsession with someone and try to become them. probably not a big deal. ask him about his ninja info cards)

-juugo (usually fine so long as he doesn't snap. might teach you to be friends with birds, which is a nice plus. will project his dead friend onto you sometimes but we all gotta cope somehow)

-sasuke (can technically function on his own for extended periods of time but something horrifically traumatic will inevitably happen to him so he should probably have someone nearby just in case)

-white zetsu (may decide to be helpful in ways you don't necessarily want but mostly is friend-shaped. excellent corpse disposal. likely has several witty responses in store in case he's ever asked "you and what army" )

-yahiko (usually fine! however may take drastic measures if his loved ones are in danger, unintentionally dooming them to become what they once stood against. might not value his own life quite enough)

akatsuki members (and affiliates) functional enough to supervise:

-pain (he's six corpses in a trench coat. six trench coats. whatever. he can look out for himself. can keep an eye or sixteen out for the others. technically just nagato in six funny hats)

-konan (exhausted. she's so tired. watched her bf commit suicide with her other bf's knife to save her life, then watched her other bf puppet around the first bf's corpse while she effectively gave him palliative care. full of love and also bombs)

-juuzou (always willing to help show young new terrorists the ropes. may ask you to join a suicide pact but has likely packed snacks for the road. will likely teach you some kind of valuable lesson or other)

-kisame (cares so much. love is stored in the sharkman. you can trust this man with anything. sensitive to comments about his appearance but will bounce back. very polite. honest. ride or die like you wouldn't believe. babysat itachi for five years and never lost respect for him, which is probably the most impressive thing anyone's done in this series. sword broke up with him for a rapper)

I think the only reason the Akatsuki were paired up that way was that, after the first mission they went on, everyone realized that unless the goal is “complete and total desolation of the village and surrounding area”, Deidara and Hidan cannot go on missions without supervision, much less with EACH OTHER as supervisors. 

They both need adult supervision.

Yeah sorry this mightve been a little underwhelming LMAO autism said he looked cool and now I have to follow it like a dog to its leash shrugs...i still do kill him sometimes tho, don't get me wrong, he is a bastard through and through and he made getting my Prayer of the Maiden achievement a little more difficult then it should have been... but he is forgiven because autism said so. Waiting for this specific hyperfixation to end ngl, BUT THE GOOD THING IS, I also like Rhea and it made me have huge, in-depth theories on the two honestly. That, and I've worldbuilt Thorolund with my own ocs, but that's for another ask's time hehe

So on Petrus/Rhea dynamic, I actually wrote a HUGE fic on this topic, detailing their time on Thorolund and how it associates with the game's time. Basically, Petrus had always despised the pettiness of the rich, and now that mostly everyone is undead his time has come to murder and slaughter. Rhea used to be one of his students during his time as a schoolteacher (hc moment), and he knows that she used to hang out with Vince and Nico often, which is why he expresses they could be a bad influence on her because he thinks they might put the pieces together to deduce he is NOT a good person...

Blacephalon: Dating Xurkitree, loves riddles, jokes, and fucking around. Pretty chaotic

Xurkitree: Dating Blacephalon, mostly tired yet sleeps the longest out of everyone and will die for their friends.

Pheromosa: Dating Buzzwole and is barely able to take shit from anyone. A Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss™️ still fun tho

Buzzwole: Dating Pheromosa, dumb jock energy and kind; a himbo!

Nihilego: honestly kinda self-absorbed and doesn't like children too much. She has that playfully "innocent" attitude
