Mr. Blue Sky Animatic Idea - Ishimondo

Ok, so I made a post about this a million years ago mentioning I had drafted out (in words only) an Ishimondo animatic to Mr. Blue Sky and then I never posted it???

I am not an artist and therefore do not have the skill to fully create this, but I hope people still enjoy my vision.

So here it is:

0:00-0:03 (*gibberish*) News recording in the living room. Some news about the prime minister (Grandpa Ishimaru).

0:04-0:10 Taka wakes up, annoyed about the news report. As the snare kicks in, he looks more excited.

0:10-0:30 Taka is getting ready for school. He gets dressed, fixed his hair, possibly shaves, etc.

0:30-0:32 Taka brushes his teeth and spits with the beats.

0:33-0:38 (Runnin' down the avenue) Taka notices another student running dangerously and scolds them.

0:38-0:47 (In the city...) Taka continues to walk to school. On the way through the gate, he passes Mondo who is leaving.

0:47-0:48 The school bell rings with the beats.

0:48-0:59 (Mr. Blue Sky...) Teachers and students are praising Taka for good grades and for helping others. "Where did we go wrong?" is in reference to other students that didn't do as well with both grades and behavior.

1:00-1:10 (Mr. Blue Sky...) Teachers are scolding Mondo for trying to skip school and getting bad grades. He is forced back within the gate. For "Where did we go wrong?), Mondo is slumped in a chair with his arms crossed, pouting.

1:11-1:12 Taka notices Mondo outside and they make eye contact. There is some kind of transition.

1:13-1:29 Mondo and Taka continuously pass each other in the hallways and always make eye contact but never approach one another.

1:30-1:35 (Hey you with the pretty face) Both are finally able to see each other outside, uninterrupted. Mondo winks at Taka who blushes and looks away.

1:35-1:45 Mondo approaches Taka and they start to have a conversation. At least Taka can be seen laughing, f not both. The school bell rings on the beats. They both notice the bell.

1:45-1:56 Simultaneously, Taka is spacing off in class and Mondo is daydreaming atop the school gate. Taka is scolded for not paying attention, and Mondo is yelled at for skipping class.

1:56-2:07 (Hey there, Mr. Blue) Taka is being praised again by his teachers and peers but also reminded of his place. He looks down at the floor, afraid. "Everybody smiles at you."

2:07-2:17 (Hey there, Mr. Blue) Mondo is surrounded by the rest of his biker gang who are clapping him on the back and shoulders, again reminded of his place and duty. "Everybody smiles at you."

2:18-2:20 Possibly back and forth between Taka and Mondo looking anxious.

2:20-2:36 (Mr. Blue Sky) Mondo is calling out to Taka, who responds on the third time. They get closer and look as though they are about to have a conversation.

2:37-2:39 (Mr. Blue, you'll get it right) Taka starts to walk away as he is being called by another student.

2:39-2:47 (But soon comes Mr. Night) Mondo walks behind Taka stopping as he does what the song describes "creepin' over, now his hand is on your shoulder".

2:47-2:52 (Nevermind I'll remember you this" Taka turns around to smile and look at Mondo.

2:53-3:03 Teachers start to crowd around the both of them, and they get nervous. Students are also present, as well as bikers. They are all suspicious as to why the two of them are together.

3:03-3:14 All of the surrounding people start commenting about the two of them, and they both look around nervously, almost giving in.

3:14-3:24 Mondo pushes through some of the people and walks outside of the school gate angrily.

3:25-3:43 Taka yells out for Mondo and catches up to him. They walk together for a while in silence until they reach Mondo's bike (3:32).

3:43-3:53 Mondo hops onto his bike and offers a helmet to a nervous Taka. He eventually takes it with hesitation and carefully gets on the bike.

3:53-4:11 Mondo drives Taka around the town and back around to the school where angry teachers and confused, gossiping students and bikers can be seen. Mondo shouts something mean at them, and Taka laughs at him on the bike. They come up to a large bridge.

4:11-4:24 Taka looks over his right shoulder to see the gorgeous almost sunset over the lake as they're still driving. While watching, he scoots closer to Mondo on the bike, feeling safe.

4:24-4:30 Mondo parks his bike on the other side of the bridge. He helps Taka off gently.

4:30-4:50 They sit on a nearby bench together. Taka rests his head on Mondo's shoulder, still watching the sunset (4:37). Surprised, Mondo stops watching the sunset and stares at Taka. He finally rests his head on Taka's (4:46).

4:51-5:00 The screen zooms out and shows the credits while still showing the sunset in the background as well as Mondo and Taka at the bottom.

Do you think it would be funny if Abner Duck appeared on DuckTales that he would be voiced by Mr. Lawrence?

While Mr Lawrence wouldn't be a bad voice and would be someone disney would look to. but if i had to choose a voice for Abner duck the voice i think would suit him best would be Keith silverstein.

Kiyotaka: And then he told me to write a 300 word essay on what that proved and (sobbing) I didn’t know!!

Yasuhiro: Aw, c’mon, talkin’ constantly about things that make you sad or angry is the surest way to help you forget those things and get over them! Otherwise you just get all bottled up and then I think you get a brain disorder…

Kiyotaka: Ohh… wow. Well, that would explain a lot.

“Hifumi.” At his first name he jumps, slack-jawed as he stares down at his nametag, only bearing an understated H. Yamada — front desk. “If you don’t hurry this up, things are going to get a lot more unpleasant for you.”

One pudgy cheek begins to twitch, puffy lower lip pulled between his teeth as he again looks over the others — this time, more than likely just to avoid Maki’s eye as he stammers, “I—I’m sorry, Miss Oowada, but the r-rules are not mine to bend. No minors after dark, no exceptions! A high-class place like this isn’t appropriate for children like you at nighttime!”

So their reservations are under his name, then. She can work with that. “Unless you’d like to deal with Mr. Oowada, I suggest you shut the hell up and give me the god damn keys. Unless you’re looking to die tonight, in which case — that can be arranged.”

Hedging her bets, Maki juts her thumb over her shoulder, earning a startled yelp from Shuuichi when she uses him as an implicit threat — which Hifumi clearly recognizes, from the way he also definitely recognizes exactly who Shuuichi is, and rolls out of his chair in order to cower further behind his desk.

The first chapter has Mondo as the victim, with Hifumi as his killer. I imagine at a first glance, this seems very out there, but really, I can't imagine a better setup for this AU as a whole.

Mondo being the first to die in the class is perhaps the best choice that could be made for this AU. The idea behind this AU's THH is that you are not bound to what others say and think of you, that you choose who you want to be. Mondo is the opposite of this, aligning himself to the expectations of a man to a fault even within the original canon and binding himself to his brother's wish without really letting himself think about what he wants to do. It's what kills him in the canon, and it's what will kill him here, too. When faced with the loved ones motive, it could just as easily send him into a spiral as the secrets motive did, albeit for a different reason. As far as he's concerned, he's already responsible for his brother's death. If he lets Takemichi and the others die because he couldn't be man enough to do something about it, that makes him doubly guilty. But at the same time, he doesn't want to be a murderer, and that'd put him in a state of mental paralysis that anyone paying enough attention could take advantage of.

Enter Hifumi, who's the first killer for two reasons. The first one is as a silly reference to the demo of THH, in which Hifumi is implied to be the killer of Yasuhiro and even has a drawn out execution in the THH artbook. The other is his superiority complex. Although it's not incredibly focused on or relevant to the game, within his FTEs you can learn that Hifumi has a pretty high opinion of himself, victimizing himself over the way people treated him growing up and believing that that makes him blameless in his pretty nasty responses to others. So when faced with the idea that the very few people who do care about him, like his sister, may be at risk of death unless he kills one of the strangers that surrounds him? The choice is easy: target the very dangerous, violent man that knocked someone innocent out for 10 hours because he was mad at a completely different person. It's completely justified, he thinks to himself. This man is clearly a threat, and if I kill him, it'll leave everyone else safer. I can even take their motive videos when I leave! I'll be a hero! I'll find all the people Monokuma has taken captive. I'm the good guy!

By taking advantage of Mondo's weakened mental state, he can catch him by surprise. Invite him to meet him in one of the classrooms at night- anonymously, of course- and catch him from behind. He's too out of it to be thinking clearly, and Hifumi is able to use his own weight to his advantage, using the force and momentum of a swing to knock him out cold with one of the pots from the kitchen. It doesn't kill him, not immediately, but that's what the knife is for.

The realization that the killer has to survive a class trial throws Hifumi off. More still is the knowledge that everyone else must now die for him to live. But still he assures himself, it's not my fault. I'm innocent. I didn't know, you can't blame me for that, and what am I supposed to do, give myself up and die? I can still take everyone's motive videos when I leave. I can find them and rescue them all. I will still be the hero. Everyone will love me.

People will finally like me.

And of course he gets caught, because this is chapter 1 of 6. I think the anonymous letter being found and addressed with a 'Mr Oowada' or whatever unique honorifics only Hifumi uses being key evidence would be fitting.

Lady Kuzuryu - the “arms” the wild card in it for the love of the game and thrill of the hunt — the one wildly shooting back at cops and rival gangs from the back seat. Also the de facto “heart” and “cheerleader” building up and encouraging the others (to do crimes with her)

Madly in love with her boyfriend-now-husband . She’s like the joker AND Harley of their relationship but her spontaneity and boldness punctuates them perfectly

Somewhere between Celeste and Juunko and team Rocket — knows who she is and what she’s about but LOVES disguises.

Will turn your entire neighborhood into pulled pork if you DARE insult or harm anyone in her OR the Oowada family (although doesn’t know the boys personally but that’s HER best friend and HER sons!!!)

Mama O - both the “driver” as well as defacto “muscle”, being the largest of the three, close friends with Lady K in school before dropping out to pursue a life of crime (and uh maybe escape some family shame from little baby Daiya-to-be)

Lives way more humbly than the couple, all of her cuts going into motor tune ups and protection fees — paid enough in that nobody would ever DARE pick a fight or ask a “favor” of one of her boys. Lots of chickens, dogs, and cats running around. Most originally feral or strays. Loves her boys SO SO much and is SOOO proud of them for never getting into nearly as much trouble as she had by their age. Mondo even got a fancy school admissions! Everyone in the diamonds loves her — she’s helped many a young criminal lay low and hide out.

1000% the reason Mondo is so shockingly well-adjusted in terms of emotionality, affection, etc. Unconditional love and friendship are the ultimate forms of punk expression!!

Mr. Kuzuryu- the leader and “brains” (and deface “big chicken”) either already from a yakuza family or looking to stake his claim (and eventually succeeding) as early as possible to give himself the best chances of climbing to the top. Much more serious and somber than the two women, but far less prone to violence or acts of passion as well (clings to mama o for dear life whenever their escape has to be made on a bike and NOT a car) Despite this loves his crazy ass wife and has a begrudging fondness for her intimidating but extremely reliable childhood friend. Loves his son in his own way…is begrudgingly jealous of the relationship he knows Ms O has with her boys — the she had the luxury of raising *children* while he is *preparing* a *yakuza heir*

A headcanon by a friend and I we think you’d like: Mondo’s mom knows/knew and works/worked with Fuyuhiko’s parents as their getaway driver. Had Daiya before the crime couple had any kids of their own so very “don’t think we’re going to go easy on you because you’re a mom now” energy turned into “how come your boys are always so cute and fucking smiley for photos and our baby isn’t?!” In a few years. Yes she has photos somewhere from years and years ago of little criminal baby drop offs and safe house-ings and playdates and fuyuhiko is a little pouty boy in all of them
