Hello all and happy Wednesday! If you’re back at work today, I feel your pain 😂 and I’m back with a check in to see what I’m #currentlyreading this fortnight. I’m making good progress through Voyager (two-thirds through), Kingdom of Ash (halfway through) and Sapiens (halfway through). I’m almost finished my re-read of Life After Life and it’s been wonderful 😍 I’ve nearly finished The Ten Thousand Doors of January on my Kindle and I’m still working on my buddy read of Light Rains Might Fall with Mr B. I’m doing less well with We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves and Far From The Madding Crowd which I was hoping to have finished but I’m blaming Christmas for that 😂 New books: #pachinko by #minjinlee which I’m reading (and loving) with Lynn from @breathe.andread Waiting For Ted by #mariekebigg starting this tonight with @booksbethanyreads 😁 Heart Of The Sun Warrior by #suelynntanauthor the second book in the Celestial Kingdom duology which I’m buddy reading with @keeperofpages we’re halfway through! The Aeneid by Virgil - reading this with a fab group of bookstagrammers. Running a bit behind but hoping to catch up tonight. I’m also listening to My Name Is Why by #lemnsissay on audiobook. About halfway through. Reading on my Kindle: When I Lived In Modern Times by #lindagrant this won the @womensprize in the year 2000 It Ends At Midnight by #harriettyceauthor about halfway through and enjoying it so far! So if my calculations are correct, that makes it 15 books currently being read 🙈 two up on a fortnight ago! Hello everyone and hope you’re all doing well. Today I’m joining in with the #sprintmiddlelong challenge which I saw on the gorgeous Suzie’s page @allthegenres Sprint - a book under 250 pages - #whereangelsfeartotread by #emforster This is part of the #forsterfrenzy that the lovely Steve from @pezzasclassicbooks has organised. We’re reading three books by Forster and starting with this slim little volume! Enjoying so far 😍 Middle - a book between 250-500 pages #theiliad by #homer another readalong organised by @pezzasclassicbooks and I’ve been meaning to read this for the longest time, especially as such a fan of Greek mythology 😍 I’m starting Book 4 tonight and loving the experience. Long - a book over 500 pages #lonesomedove by #larrymcmurtry this book is absolutely epic. I’m buddy reading it with a great gang of bookstagrammers including @pezzasclassicbooks @readingpenguin14 and @celestes.bookshelf I should be finished it tomorrow and it’s been one hell of a ride pardner!! 🤠 🐴 I’d love to know your thoughts on any of these books or authors? Hello everyone and hope you’re doing well. Today I’m sharing what I’m #currentlyreading (as always, a LOT) because clearly I enjoy a challenge! 🤣 On my Kindle I’m reading three things - Dead Head by @ceejayismeeejay the third book in the Sweetpea series which I’m buddy reading with the lovely @booksta.gem Then I’m also buddy reading Before Her Eyes by Jack Jordan with @buddyreadbooknook Our group read Do No Harm recently by the author and loved it so instantly wanted to read more! Finally on my Kindle I’m buddy reading Fugitive Pieces by Anne Michaels. This was the second ever winner of the @womensprize or the Orange prize as it was back then. Pictured book sleeve from @paperandword My audiobook listen is The Opposite Of Butterfly Hunting: The Tragedy and the Glory of Growing Up by Evanna Lynch (the actress played Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter movies). I’m also continuing to make my way through Light Rains with Mr B which we’re reading together up until Feb 2023. Onto the books pictured! 😂 I’m just starting Reservoir 13 by Jon McGregor. One of my favourite authors do can’t wait for this. I’m finishing up Jude The Obscure with #thegreatthomashardyreadalong2022 it’s been both heartbreaking 💔 and epic! Voyager by Diana Gabaldon is the third book in the Outlander series and I’m about 150 pages in. My current re-read is Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. I’m loving being back in Ursula’s world so much! 😍 My current nonfiction is Women Don’t Owe You Pretty by Florence Given. Nearly halfway through this and the illustrations are brilliant. Finally I have the penultimate book in the @womensprize longlist, Creatures Of Passage by Morowa Yejidé. So intrigued by this one! So that makes it 11 books I’m currently reading.
