While James and Sirius are throwing red shells at each other and being competitive to the point, Remus is yelling at them and practically ripping their controllers from them, Peter is just happily gliding into first place.

Housebound during Summer holidays, sixth year.

DO NOT EAT THE MUSHMELLOWS WITHOUT ME. DO NOT EAT THEM. All Marauder plans on hold until I prison-break out of this shit hole.

What to do instead, you ask? Light a candle. Tea and biscuits. Break out a poetry book. Pray that my cousins won’t cut me into little rectangles and feed me to a goose. Grimm place is utopian compared to tomorrow’s promise.

To answer your question, I have no idea what they want the house for. I refuse to believe they’ve actually been alone together. Regulus and I were- and this is a secret- product of chanting and animal sacrifice. Just picture me and it makes a lot of sense.

How’s your shoulder by the way? Bold of me to criticise. I take after my mother, who complains about me though I am completely, unequivocally, her fault.

Oh! Did you go to Nashville Rooms? Shimmy shammy on the grimy dance floor? Smear your good vibes all on the great glittering city? If so- unfair! If not- why not?

Сегодня - задумчивые песни на случай, если что-то зашло в тупик.

В первом же куплете внимание привлекает рваный темп: то протяжные гласные, то быстрое бормотание. В предприпеве побольше вокала (возможно, у исполнителя лучшие ноты относительно высокие). Припев строится на качаниях и опеваниях, а второго куплета не будет: смена темы, повторы слов, минимум текста упорно указывают на бридж. И, хоть текст вполне осмыслен, благодаря фонтическим собенностям (скоплению в, л и б) эта скороговорка служит для акцентирования ритма. Интересно также электрогитарное соло в бридже и аутро, довольно простое по форме с ясной мелодией - особенно на контрасте с эмбиентным аккомпаниментом. Из текста мой любимый момент - "You knew my name, But you had no clue what are we gonna go through, baby".

Напряжённая песня, опять же, с непостоянным ритмом. Два разных на первый взгляд куплета представляют собой тему с вариациями: сначала это короткие строки с напевными вокализными хвостами, на смену которым приходит стакатто. Второй куплет, напротив, начинается с речитатива, а затем следует более мелодичная часть, и наконец появляется как бы дополниельная третья, со средней концентрацией звука.

Несмотря на ведущую роль басов, здесь достаточно богатый аккомпанимент - и струнные, и клавишные (насколько мне слышно, как электро, так и акустика). И как всегда здорово и сочно звучит акапелла после полных пауз. В тексте мне особенно нравится ироничное "It's not worth the money bringing me back from the dead".

Лирическое интро немного сбивает с толку, а дальше всё отлично: чёткий бит с синкопами в вокале, распевный бридж с кроссфейдом строчек и мелодичный припев, где снова появляется тема из интро - но сдобренная ударными и стакатто в вокале, она звучит энергичнее. Текст весьма замысловатый и метафоричный, из любимого - "I'll try being wonderful yet totally inedible".

Композиция начинается с арпеджо на гитаре, которые останутся до конца, приправленные мелодией на клавишных - она в полной мере разворачивается в речитативном бридже (даже не так важно, что её почти не слышно за вокалом - она добавляет хорошую многослойность). Здесь же мой любимый момент по тексту, пардон за мелодраматичность: "I'd give it all just to have, have your eternity / 'Cause it's all that assures me, it's worth all that hurts me". Мелодия, в контрасте с драматичным текстом, довольно легковесная за счёт того, что в ней практически нет басов. Как в куплете, так и в припеве разброс нот небольшой, много поступенного движения вниз, что усиливает ощущение меланхолии, заданное минором.

Если не спокойная, то довольно монотонная песня, но не без сюрпризов! Во втором куплете, который почти не "рифмуется" с первым, вокалист переходит на скрим, а вот аккомпанимент, будто в насмешку, остаётся сдержанным. Зато в бридже наблюдаем противположную ситуацию: более ровный, хоть и громкий, вокал на фоне мощных ударных, которые подчёркивают эм��ции. В припеве занятный момент - повторы say-say-say-say-say-say-say it создают эффект вокализа, хотя вокализы чаще бывают напевными. В финале после интересной вариации на тему аккомпанимента притаилось неожиданное аутро со скримом и ударными - как напоминание, что хэппи-энд на протяжении песни не наступил.
