uhhhh I was thinking about this au a lot recently <333 a little ahort snippet, and some art!! I did Alma (at least a base for her design, it's probably gonna change), and then the grandkids!!! Pinterest, my best friend <33

Alma stood on the boat that was now Casita. She stared out at the open sea. It was quiet now, save for the sound of the salty waves hitting the side of the boat, and the creaking of Casita. No dolphins chasing the boat, or sea monster lingering close to the surface. No other ships. Just Casita, the Madrigals and the ocean.

Alma leaned agained the side. Could the boat even be called Casita? It wasn't even an actual house anymore, but a gigantic sail boat. Though, Alma tried calling it "Velera" or "Lancha"...it didn't like them, so they just stuck to Casita. It certainly still somewhat retained it's personality. The same flowers were draped along the hull, and it was just as colorful. And definitely just as lively. A whole year later and it was still kicking in the sea as it did on land.

She stood there for a long time before she heard quiet footsteps behind her.

"I know you're there," she sihhed, turning around. She didn't know which one of her grandkids would be there; but she knew it was one of them. Turning around, she saw all of them. Isabela, Dolores, Luisa, Camilo and Mirabel, just below the deck floor door. They peaked up through it, staring at her. She watched them for a moment before gesturing them forward. They all scrambled onto the deck, giggling as they rushed up to her.

They all hugged her tightlt, burying their faces in her soft dress. She smiled sadly, her hands gently touching their heads. They leaned into her touch, humming softly as they nuzzled close to her. She leaned against the side of the shio, looking down at them with sade eyes.

They'd never know life at in the Encanto. At least, not for a long while. She didn't know much about this "Bermuda Triangle"...but she knew they were stuck here. But they still had their gifts; except for Mirabel. She still didn't have a gift. Not one that they've figured out yet. Her door appeared and led them here, but they still hadn't figured out why.

"Abuela?" Alma blinked, looking down. Luisa was staring up at her with wide eyes. The other children looked up as well.

"Yes, mi amor?" Alma asked, brushing a few stray hairs from Luisa's face.

"Are we gonna stay here forever?" She asked innocently. Innocent to her, and innocent to her sisters and cousins. But to Alma? It was scary. It was unknown.

"I...I don't know," Alma said, looking away. "But we're here, and we're gonna make the most of what we have. We'll survive this."

"Cause we're the Madrigals!" Mirabel giggled and Camilo nodded quickly in agreement.

"Yeah, and our family is strong!" He said, his tiny hands gripping Alma's skirts.

She chuckled softly, kissing their foreheads. "Exactly. Our family is strong, our magic is strong, and our Casita is as well."

The kids curled up closer. Their weight, small but in a group heavy, grounded her. They were stranded at sea but the magic, but they still had each other. Alma knew her family would push through. It would all be ok.

"You know, even if we have to live here forever," Isabela said quietly. "I think it's ok cause we're all together."

Alma nodded. "Yes. I think so too," she brushed Isabela's hair, raking her fingers through it "We'll survive this. I promise."

They are literally so silly. I'll eventually do the adults designs as well, don't worry <33

Also, I'm still debating in how Bruno gets there??? Because they don't actually get there until Mirabel's 6th birthday, when the door reappears. Thus takes place a year after that

Me: Really? What have you learned?

9yo: Well, I have two theories. The first is that the currents there make huge waves that sink the ships. But that doesn't explain the missing airplanes. My other theory is the science fiction theory which is that it's a BEACON TO HELL!!

Me: ....I should probably not let you watch Good Omens anymore.

9yo: Nooooo please let me watch Good Omens I need season three.

INKTOBER 2024: Just DRIVE [Day 18]

During Tails Adventure The Bermudas Triangle AU after being lost in the same island for so long, Tails and Kyo manage to work together... Even if at the start that didn't function so good, it seemed like they could manage to survive the dangers of the islands at least!

Not without arguing though...
