The following morning, after lazing about in bed with loving good morning kisses and sweet snuggles, a quick wake me up shower and dressing for the day ahead of us, my husband had the TV on playing the morning news while I was applying my makeup for the day, waiting for the girls to wake up.

“- yes Bernie, this year marks eight years since the devastating massacre that took place at the Route 91 Harvest festival, killing sixty and wounding at least four hundred and thirteen people-”

 “My love, can you please change the channel?” I called out as I carefully swiped on eye shadow. “I really don’t want to hear about that.”

 “Of course sweetheart,” my husband apologized, promptly changing the channel to a kid’s cartoon. “The babies are waking up!”

 “I can hear them my love!” I hummed, getting out my mascara next. “Poor Baby Tommy- teething already! I hope he won’t be too fussy while we’re in Las Vegas!”

 Baby Tommy wasn’t fussing too horribly while we were eating breakfast at a mom and pop pancake house. I had given both him and little girl plain pancakes and fresh berries to munch on while the girls and I poked fun at the fat stack of pancakes that my husband was wolfing down.

 “Really now my love,” I sighed, snapping a picture to post up onto my Instagram.

 The comments started rolling in almost at once, which I just glanced at before setting my phone down onto the table, screen side down and returning to breakfast.

 “No, no eating contest!” Peter was scolding Aria and Elizabeth. “We are not starting off the day with a trip to the urgent care before one of you decided to inhale a pancake down the wrong windpipe!”

 “Sorry Uncle Peter,” Aria meekly apologized, asking for the maple syrup to be passed to her. Her twin was reading a book that was concealed on her lap as she neatly polished off her plate.

 Evie. I tapped her hand and held out a hand.

 Sorry Auntie Mary Claire. She handed me the book, which I bookmarked with a napkin before tucking it into my backpack.

 Katie was busy tucking into her pancakes and scrambles eggs, grinning happily as she gazed about her with happy eyes.

 “Mommy?” she meeped, finishing up her plate and sliding it off to the side. “What are we doing today?”

 “Today, you girls are visiting a spa and I will take Baby Tommy with me on a daddy- son date,” chortled my husband. “Let me pamper you ladies today, alright?”

 “Thank you, my love!” I smiled at him. Looking at my body now, my back would make all kinds of weird noises when I would stand up, bend over, lie down and when Peter would fuck me silly. A massage sounded absolutely divine to me.

 Peter smiled as he handed me a pamphlet to look over the services. My eyebrows shot straight up at the list of exotic services that they offered- seaweed wraps, cuppings, different types of massages, body care such as waxing, nail arts, and acrylics…

 “Wow.” My eyebrows shot straight up, receding into my hairline as I glanced at everything. “Peter-”

 “Sweetheart, please just let me spoil my girls and my woman!” he begged me, finishing up his platter of breakfast and tugging me into his lap. “Please.”

 “You spoil your kids too much!” I grumbled as he paid the bill before ushering us all outside and over to the car. Peter had rented a car once we had landed, and much to his joy, a leggy minivan had been pulled for him. After situating the babies’ car seats and throwing our suitcases into the back, he had taken off with the kids sound asleep in the backs. He had purposely taken the long way to the hotel, not wanting to wake the kids as he steered with one hand, his other hand grasping at my fingers.

 “Well now sweetheart…” Peter tugged me in for a sweet kiss. “I’m an uncle, a father and a godfather, it’s just what I do. It’s kinda in the job description to spoil my kids a little bit.” He kissed my nose before drawing back. “And I also have a printout of the band t-shirts available on Saturday, just tell me which shirt you want for the kids and I can get them before then so that you can work your magic touch on them and fit them to the kids, okay?”

 “Spasibo moy udivitel’nyy chudesnyy lyubyashchiy muzh,” I murmured in a soft voice as he helped me get into the passenger’s seat.

 “You are trying to bust my week of going nutless!” he snarled, giving me another kiss before he buckled me in and shut the door to loop around and get into the driver’s side.

 “But I’m your little mix, don’t you remember that, my love?” I teased him.

 “Yes, you are sweetheart.”
