Like when he blamed Splinter for letting them go up to the surface, he would know Splinter was already questioning his decision to let them do that, or he calls Splinter out on not being affected by his mutated appearance (when Splinter looks uncomfortable being seen by humans/Shredder)? Basically, what are your further thoughts on it? Has he done this elsewhere?

Oh, that behavior is 100% related to Mikey's emotional awareness. I'd hardly even call it a headcanon, it's just canon lol.

After not only botching their first fight above ground but failing to stop two kidnappings on their watch, the boys immediately start playing the blame game by pointing out each other's rash decisions and dumb mistakes that led to such an outcome. Obviously, the idea of Splinter's decision being yet another mistake of the sorts was hanging somewhere in the air waiting to be grabbed at, but no one readily went for it as something that needed to be acknowledged as a mistake. That's why it's so fascinating to see the writers establish Mikey right out of the gate as someone who isn't afraid to comment on Splinter's decisions and his emotional state when he's making those decisions.

He was certainly aware of their father's doubts concerning them going above ground for the first time because a comment like that doesn't just come out of nowhere.

Granted, this instance was him speaking his mind in the heat of the moment and only realizing how much his words would sting after the fact (especially since they're the ones who convinced Splinter to send them off with their begging), but this becoming a continuous trend of his throughout the series further proves the fact of him being more aware of things than a lot of people pegged him to be.

In Mikey Gets Shellacne, his remark about Splinter telling him not to fret about his appearance when he could hardly bring himself to do the same can be interpreted as a more apparent example of him knowing more than he lets on. It's made rather obvious from the start of the series that Splinter wasn't keen on roaming the streets looking like a giant rat, but that's more of a "show and don't tell" deal where both the audience and the characters are left on their own to pick up on such an important yet minor detail. Splinter never tells anyone about his insecurity, nor does anyone in the series talk about it amongst each other, so a moment like this can be a bit jarring when it's framed as Mikey calling out Splinter's opinion on his own appearance.

Though the intent of his comment was to simply call Splinter old, the underlying insult is there and Mikey regrets saying something like that to their father of all people.

Other than letting his frustrations get the better of him and unintentionally plucking at Splinter's insecurities, Mikey is greatly in tuned with the emotions of those around him and will usually pick up on any changes rather quickly. Take these two moments with, funnily enough, him and Splinter near the start of Serpent Hunt.

I previously posted the first clip as a funny little observation, but the scene is more intriguing than my jestful sentence made it out to be. Mikey's attention is split between hanging his goofy pieces of artwork on the wooden boards and listening to April as she announces how the restaurant is starting to look like a makeshift home. It's not until he turns around to joke with her about his drawings that he finally has Splinter in his sights, and his attention evidently begins to drift to Splinter as April is responding to his question (you can literally see his head following Splinter's movements while April is speaking to him😭). And just look at how taken aback he is by Splinter's melancholic expression being on full display:

While Splinter answers Mikey by stating that he's concerned for Casey, Leo and Raph because they've been gone for a while, it's pretty obvious that's not all he's bothered by, and him not being subtle about his troubled mind like usual had enough flags raising in Mikey's mind for him to hop up from his spot. Once the scene transitions to the second clip, Mikey lingers with Splinter in the front of the restaurant while April ventures to the back in search of Donnie to check on his progress with the retro-mutagen, as well as to see if the others made it back yet. Mikey and Splinter decide to follow April as soon as Donnie utters Karai's name, and Mikey is visibly bracing himself for another look of heartbreak on their father's visage:

Splinter moments aside, Mikey recognizes when something is up with his brothers and friends, as well as whether or not he should step in. Of course the prominent moments of him demonstrating his ability to calm Leatherhead and Raph down count among the times when he steps in, but the times when he chooses not to step in shouldn't be understated either.

Take the pre-intro scene in The Cosmic Ocean for example, when April breaks the silence and questions where Leo ran off to. We understand where Raph is coming from when he says that it can't be healthy for Leo to confide in a simulated version of Splinter since it could just make him miss their father more than ever, but Mikey suddenly pops from his laid back position off-screen and joins the conversation:

He's knows as well as Raph that speaking with a simulation of their father isn't exactly ideal, but he also knows that Leo is used to coming home to confide in Splinter for advice whenever he feels his confidence as a leader beginning to waver. The whole gang knows all of this, but once again, Mikey's the only one to verbalize it. Sometimes people need to hear something so obvious outloud to really understand or remember its importance, and Mikey seems to know that best.

I don't really need to mention how his emotional awareness extends far beyond simply knowing when someone is down, or when he is or isn't in a position to help them, but it makes for a decent epilogue to this analysis so-

Him being the least (read: least) temperamental of his brothers automatically puts him in the position of a mediator when there's tension in the group, and it's common knowledge that he'd often go out of his way to ease that tension in his own ways. He sometimes makes jokes, both corny and intelligent, just to get everyone's minds off of the heaviness of a situation, even if that moment of reprieve only lasts for a minute. He attempts to break up fights before they get too far, which sometimes doesn't work because they're a stubborn bunch of turtles (literally the entire first five minutes of New Girl in Town lol), but his efforts are commendable and genuine.

He's exceptionally conscious of changes in the atmosphere and a swing in someone's mood, which could go hand in hand with his sixth sense for weird Kraang stuff if you think about it. But all of this comes together to paint an undeniably clear image of Mikey having a great amount of emotional awareness, and just all around being one of the most emotionally intelligent characters of the series.

disclaimer: this happens in the context of one of my hcs that i haven't talked about yet where sukuna didn't have any sort of status yet the way he did in the first heian era flashback. i just randomly got the idea for this one shot and had to get it out of my system lol

"Sukuna-Sama, can we go to the matsuri in the village tonight?" uraume runs up to sukuna who is lying outside, napping, as usual.

"No." the man replied, seemingly unbothered, one pair of arms crossed behind his head.

Uraume crosses their arms and pouts "fine... i will go by mysel-"

"I said no." his tone switched to a more stern one.

"Why not???"

"Because i said so." a visible frown forming on his face.

Uraume turns their back to the big man and scoffs, "You cannot forbid me to go."

One of Sukuna's second pair of eyes watching the child walk away "They know you're associated with me."

Uraume stops and looks back at him "but doesn't that mean they will leave me alone?"

Sukuna turns his head away from them "It's not that simple."

"Then explain it to me??"

His brows furrow "This conversation is over. I said no."

Uraume, now visibly annoyed, replies "It's not like you care enough about me to stop me. I'm going."

"You are right. I don't. But i assumed you were more mature than to put yourself in a dangerous situation. Apparently i was wrong."

Uraumes fists clenched at their sides "What dangerous situation?! Can you just talk to me for once and also, i can defend myself! i have been practicing every day ever since you found me months ago."

Sukuna's gaze turned to uraume "Tsk. You foolish brat, you are the size of a shrimp, your way of defending yourself is to freeze that whole village down and kill each and everyone of them like you did before over and over."

"Thanks for reminding me, i almost forgot. It's not like you would've such a big issue with me destroying that village anyway." Uraume muttered.

"I couldn't care less about that village, they are not worth my time. But besides that.. They brew a pretty decent sake."

Uraume rolls their eyes.

"Even if you were to defend yourself, we don't know if there will be other sorcerers and if so, you will be dead before you even realize they are there, fool. You are weak. And rather thickheaded on top of that..."

Anger is covering uraume's expression "If i'm oh so dumb and thickheaded, you have no use for me so i might as well leave!" the child stomps on the ground out of frustration before storming away.

Sukuna clicks his tongue in annoyance "what did i get myself into..." before rolling to his side and continuing his nap.

"Thickheaded... as far as i see you are the one with the thick head, sukuna-sama." Uraume mumbles on the way to the village "It's not like i need him. I was fine before i met him..." Images of frozen down houses flashing in their mind "...well, maybe not entirely fine. But i'm much stronger now!" The child stops and raises their head in confidence before proceeding walking.

Lights forming in the distance as the sun is going down. Uraume is almost at their hard-earned goal.

"I can already hear the drums!" Uraume starts running towards the fest until they finally reach it. The sky of lights reflecting in their, now somehow even bigger, eyes.

"Mmmh~ The smell of freshly grilled squid and meat skewers will always be my favorite." Their ears fill with music and laughter from seemingly every corner. Uraume's usual stoic expression transforms into a dumbfounded grin all over their face. They cannot hide their excitement even if they tried. The child's life has been pretty mundane ever since they're with sukuna, apart from learning how to prepare humans for him... they are still getting used to that. The most exciting part of their day is when sukuna is practicing with them. So being at the matsuri is something extremely special to them, especially because...

It was the child's first time being at a matsuri.

Back when they lived with their parents, the village was too poor to hold such festives, uraume only ever heard of them from tellings from others.

"It is as wonderful as they always described." Uraume says in awe with glistening eyes before starting to stroll around the different stands. Carefully looking at each one with so much interest. They are seeing so many things they never even knew existed. All these exciting things make them feel almost electrified.

"Kakigori!" Uraume exclaims after seeing the stand. Shaved ice with sweet syrup was always their favorite. They tried making it on their own but so far it only resulted in the bowl shattering, besides that, sukuna doesn't really have a sweet tooth. They usually eat a lot of meaty, hearty dishes, uraume actually cannot remember the last time they had something sweet.

Uraume runs up to the stand "Could i have one portion, please?" Their pupils widened to the size of the moon above them.

The man quickly prepares it before uraume has their hands already stretched all the way out to welcome the sweet treat into their hands.

"Well. I'm not giving you this for free?" the man says while stretching one of his hands towards uraume while holding the kakigori back.

"Oh. I forgot that these things are not for free," Uraume thought to themselves before swiftly grabbing into their sleeves and desperately looking for coins. "damn... i was sure i- There it is!" Uraume pulls out one single coin that they found a while back while doing sukuna's laundry and sneakingly kept for themselves. The child innocently looks at the man while presenting the coin with both hands in front of him.

He rolls his eyes. "Tsk." He takes the coin and hands them over the sweet shaved ice. "Take it and go, kid."

"Thank you so much!" Uraume almost jumps up from happiness and impatiently takes a spoon full to stuff it into their mouth. The joyful moment unfortunately didn't last long when uraume saw the wife of the stand owner whisper something into his ear while looking at them with utmost disgust in her eyes.

Uraume chose to ignore it and savor the moment with their beloved sweet treat and walk away to enjoy it.

"Ey, aren't you that little lackey of that freak?" a boy shouts at uraume from behind.

Their jaw clenched but they continued walking.

"Did he cut your tongue and ears off, moron?! wouldn't surprise me, to be honest." him and his friends started to chuckle.

Uraume stops and turns to them with their head lowered before threateningly saying "Leave me alone."

The boy comes closer and grins "Or what?" The youngster slams the dessert out of uraume's hand.

The white-haired child's gaze blackened while looking at the kakigori on the floor, their body clearly tensing up, shoulders rising as they're biting down on their lip to hold themselves back from saying things that will just escalate the situation.

The turmoil attracted the attention of the people around them and seemingly all the noises painfully died down. Only quiet mumbles can be heard.

"Sukuna" "two-faced freak" "monster"

Even though mumbles, they felt like needles pushed into uraume's eardrums.

"Aww, are you crying, coward??" the boy teasingly said while reaching out to uraume's face "Let me see that pathetic face of yours, are you also as deformed as that... monster?" Uraume slams his hand away before it could reach them. The boy starts yelling while his hand rises to strike them "Oh you fucking idiot, how dare you touch me with these disgusting hands of y-" but before he can even finish his sentence uraume grabbed his arm right before he striked them. Everyone's eyes widened seeing their quick reflexes. Uraume's glare focuses directly on his, an anger clouding their eyes that send shivers down everyone's spine. The boy's attitude suddenly drops when faced with uraume's rage. Slow cracking noises are filling the area causing people to look around them before someone shouts "Look! His arm!" pointing at the children. Frost forming around the youngsters arm.

"What are you do- Stop it?! you fucking freak!!!" They boy yells.

Uraume's nostrils flaring up, their breath deepens while their grip on his arm grows stronger.

"Leave him alone!" "Stop it, you monster!" "Someone help the poor boy!"

the crowd shouts but they seemingly cannot move, it's almost like an invisible force is stopping them.

The boy starts panicking seeing and feeling his arm getting colder and colder. The tighter uraume's grip gets the louder are the crackling noises... until a shatter echos through the area followed by an agonizing cry. For a moment, it seemed like the world slowed down. Everything went silent until uraume starts hearing muffled shouts. They look around them, everything is spinning and moving so slowly. Uraume figures out that the shouts are coming from the villagers. Their expressions mixed between fear and pure hatred. Uraume looks back at the boy who is harrowingly screaming at the sight of his missing arm.

This is when they realize.

Oh no.

Uraume's gaze set down to the ground, seeing chunks of ice with the remains of the boy's arm inside of them. Their breath rapidly accelerates, terror rushing through every fiber of their body and before uraume realized they were running. Running as fast as they can. They don't know where they're running to but all that is in the child's mind is to run.

Sharp pains from their lungs force uraume to stop making them fall to the ground. They desperately try to calm their breathing down, with each inhale getting more agonizing than the other. It feels like fire is filling their lungs. Uraume, who supports themselves on their hands, hears a drop fall on a leaf.

They huff "Great. Now it's raining." but they are mistaken. It isn't rain drops falling to the ground...

it's their tears.

Too weak to support themselves further they drop entirely to the ground and the already dark forest becomes even darker.

...

"It's this way! Check everything!"

Uraume's eyes open when they hear the distant shouts. Not fully back to their senses, the child doesn't realize what is going on or where they are. They slowly sit back up letting out painful moans because their entire body is in pain from the running. Their gaze clears up and uraume's eyes, widened in fear, reflect torches in the distance. The shouts are getting louder.

"They are coming." uraume mutters.

They try to get up and run but their feet are simply giving up on them both the running and the anxiety rushing through their body bound them to the ground. Defeatedly they prop themselves up against a tree and turn their head up, a melancholic smile forming on their, while one single tear rolls down their face.

"Tsk... You were right after all, sukuna-sama. I am stupid." they softly chuckled.

The flames are getting bigger.

"I do deserve this after all i've done."

"There! i see the cursed brats white hair."

"Hah. I am indeed cursed." uraume closes their eyes, their body softens as if they are accepting their fate. Until...

they hear a slashing sound from the villagers directions, following up a moment of silence before harrowing screams cut through it. Uraume tries to see what's going on but it all happens too quickly making it impossible for uraume to figure it out. With each slash, the screams are quieting down more and more until they eventually fully stop.

The child sees a large but familiar figure walking towards them. They turn their face away.

"How- How did you find me?" uraume frowns.

Sukuna chuckles "Your cursed energy could be felt throughout the entire region." he scratches his head "woke me up too..."

"My deepest apologies for disturbing your precious sleep, my lord." uraume mocks.

Sukuna pinches the bridge of his nose "Brat, be grateful i found you before any other sorcerers did, now get up."

"You were right, sukuna-sama," uraume's voice saddens "I am weak."

The four armed man clicks his tongue in annoyance "Apparently you caused enough chaos for all the men in the village to hunt you down, didn't you?"

Uraume softly nods.

"Good. Then you did well, uraume." His expressions softens, a smirk forming on his face

Uraume immediately turns their head towards the man, eyes filling up with tears in a mix of sadness but also relief.

"Now let's get home. I'm getting hungry." sukuna commands back to his usual stern voice while reaching his hand out to uraume.

The Child blinks at him for a few moments, his gaze faced away from them. A view that reminds them of a precious memory.

Uraume takes sukuna's hand and he helps them get up.

"Can you walk?" sukuna asks.

Uraume replies with a light nod while their legs are sharking and barely holding them up. Limping next to sukuna, the two of them started walking.

The man shakes his head "How can anyone be so stubborn..." before quickly taking uraume and placing them on his shoulder.

"Sukuna-Sama!" uraume exclaims, a sense of flusteredness painting their expressions.

"Quiet."

Uraume pouts for a second before hesitatingly getting more comfortable.

"So... What do you want to eat, sukuna-sama?" the child asks with a playful curiosity.

"Hmm. I noticed there was a fest in the nearby village that is suddenly completely empty now. If i remember correctly i also saw a Kakigori stand there."

Uraume's head instantly turns to sukuna's, their expression magically switching to one full of excitement before they quickly turn their gaze away again "Is that so? I see..." desperately trying to keep their tone serious while their flushed cheeks betray them.

One of sukuna's lower eyes now looks at uraume, while the others are closed. He shakes his head once again with a soft smirk reappearing on his face. "Damn Brat..."

Dumb is a demon from hell and Stormz is an angel cast out from heaven, aka a fallen angel

Stormz is a fallen angel but in my mind that's someone who was an angel in the past and was cast out and now Stormz is human but has his wings still. But they are essentially cosmetic and he does his best to hide them but acts like he isn't trying to hide them

After Stormz was cast out of heaven, he runs into  Dumb who was just wandering the world and had somehow landed in the overworld, Dumb didn’t have anything better to do so he follows Stormz

Stormz’s wings don't work and he can’t fly, he insists that he doesn’t miss flying but goes a little quiet when Dumb uses his wings. Dumb notices this and tries his best to not fly when he doesn’t have to

Dumb can't see from his gray eye, Stormz makes it a point to stand on Dumb’s blindside to cover his weaker side, but has always kept it in mind for if he ever had to fight Dumb

Dumb is not a good demon, he has no motives and doesn't desire anything. He simply wanders around the world 

Stormz was not a good angel. He was ambitious and stops at nothing for what he wants, beats by his own drum and gets cast out, now he walks the mortal realm furthering his own agenda

When Stormz dies, he will go to hell, but when Dumb dies, he will just vanish. Stormz would be lucky to have heaven take him back. But Stormz would much prefer hell, at least in hell he is reminded of Dumb

 The scar on both Dumb and Stormz come from the same incident. It was an attack aimed at Dumb early on in their journey. Dumb gets hit by half of the atack and the other half Stormz tanks for him. This is also where Dumb becomes blind in his one eye 

Adding onto the previous hc, this is where Stormz realises that he cares for Dumb. Since being cast down from heaven, Stormz has become more fragile and is aware of that. While it's normally Dumb trying to protect Stormz, this incident he tries to return the favor but they both just end up hurt LOL but yeah, Stormz moves before he could think and before he knows it, he’s trying to tank a hit for Dumb (I have so many ideas for how these two got their matching scars but this is my favorite one probably?)

Stormz and Dumb are Overthinker and Underthinker. Stormz is constantly thinking about things like plans and ideas but Dumb kinda just drifts through life and does things when he feels like it and not necessarily thinking about his actions

 Additionally, Stormz is very good with his words and good at articulating his thoughts into words while Dumb is very awful at putting his thoughts into words, he expresses things through action instead

Before meeting Stormz, Dumb didn’t speak any sort of language, just existing, Dumb never felt the need to be able to communicate with anyone. But after meeting Stormz, he finds him interesting and sticks around him. Eventually, Stormz teaches Dumb English so that can communicate with words properly instead of Stormz having to just guess what Dumb is thinking. 

But because of how much time Stormz had spent guessing what Dumb had wanted, it became a habit for Storm to act on what Dumb wanted before Dumb could even say it.  Dumb is acclimated to hell’s weather and gets cold easily in the overworld. But Stormz hates the heat

 Dumb is always cold so he always wants to cuddle for warmth but Stormz never wants to but does so anyways. But Dumb never asks to cuddle, he waits for Stormz to notice that he want to 

Stormz also uses his wings to warm Dumb when he's cold. Dumb doesn’t know it but it makes Stormz happy to have any sort of use for his wings

Ink sans headcanons!

Disclaimer: I don't claim anything to be canon. Although, I tried to make sure it didn't conflict with canon for the most part. Erm, I also didn't check the tag before I made this, so of any these are canon/popular hcs i didn't know before making this.

Ink has something similar to a bag of holding tied to his belt. He picks up little trinkets in the aus he visits (something small, of course, like a flower!) It can hold an endless amount of objects. It also stands as as way of reminding him of where hes been and who he's met! he puts any gifts he gets there as well.

He has this weird ability that if you point at something he knows the exact hex code and color name it is. Why? Not even he knows, but it may be a creator giving him knowledge somehow thing.

For his paints? They all taste a little different. They taste like, something? But the exact flavor is so vague it's "hard for him to describe". If anything, they taste like a whole bunch of flavors at once. A little overwhelming to the palate. They all differ in sensation as well, fizzy, smooth, milky etc.

Consistency wise, they both smell and have the thickness of acrylic paint. Specifically that kinda watery acrylic paint you can get for cheap at a store (like apple barrel).

Each of his vials has three dosages. One vial is like daily usage. But they can sometimes run out unevenly depending on how bad/good that day is (ex: on an extremely bad day, he has to take more of a positive emotions) so he had extra markings to "top off". Given there's no consistent time frame hes in, he just takes them whenever he wakes up. [ note: this particular headcanon was partially inspired by @/the-local-eldritch-microwave headcanon lol ↓]

He can actually last maybe about few days without his vials, but his emotions just become duller after 24-48 hrs. Taking a sharp decline after about 72 hrs. Their mobility and mental health declines with it as well, so he'd rather not wait for the decline to start! haha unless he got stuck in some situation where he had no choice!!! :D haha

He tried chugging all his vials at once for experimentation! He vomited everywhere. He'll not be attempting that again. Too much at once...

He has a reallllyyyy long scarf so he has enough room for all of his notes. It drags behind him and also dramatically blows behind him when there's a draft. It tracks stuff in it, due to its length. The bottom of his scarf is all colorful because of all the crap hes tracked in it! LOL

If he ever needed it, he'd add more fabric to the end for more notes. I guess eventually it would get cartoonishy long. At least, until it became completely impossible to manage.

On that topic, hes actually quite messy. Although, its more in a "organized chaos" sorta way. He knows where everything is, even if you don't. hes also MESSY not dirty very clear distinction!

In my mind the reason Ink would have a gap tooth in my version is when he was a "sketch" his teeth were more uh implied? So when he's born (how the hell would you word that? conceived? idk) he now has a permanent gap tooth.

i fully believe that in a xianxia scenario the starters like charmander, popplio, snivy etc etc would be given to the gentry and the disciples of the most renowned cultivation sects

so i believe shen jiu chose snivy as his starter

(i hc liu qingge got a torchic, and i don’t know, yue qingyuan a piplup? for me empoleon fits yue qingyuans sect leader design. shang qinghua a grookey maybe? a little thing with a dumb face that becomes a big buffy monster to protect him, he calls the rillaboom his son. qi qingqi with a fennekin because i think she too would have “feminine” pokemons, and i would give her an ursaluna as her main, and wei qingwei with a litten bc incineroar would slap as a forger/artisan)

(ning yingying with a scorbunny bc a bunny with adhd seems to match her so well, and ming fan with a chespin or a treecko bc he would like to match types with his shizun)

but maybe he got sneasler during his discipleship with wu yanzi, for some reason wu yanzi seems the type to be a dark and poison type trainer, and shen jiu getting a small and injured sneasel from him, one that wu yanzi deemed broken beyond saving so he wouldn’t mind discarding

also, the reason why i gave shen jiu virizion and a shiny espeon is not only because of the connection that all of them could have together, but i was specifically searching for a legendary/mythical and a shiny because i believe he would do anything to get hold of one, so you know, the rest of the gentry wouldn’t doubt his achievements and he could have a self fulfilling sensation that he is better than the rest of them

YQY getting an Empoleon fits well with his outward calm noble aura he’s got going on. Since I’m extra I’ve assigned types to all the peaks and i have Qiong Ding as steel so that fits so well!!

I actually picked a Aegislash for WQW bc sword, i know that’s kind of basic but I really wanted it lol. But Incineroar + fire type would also work super amazing for the forging peak! + SJ would absolutely fixate on finding as many rare/high status Pokémon as he can to cement his position.

As for LQG i actually picked the Gibel/Garchomp line for him bc i have Bai Zhan as the dragon peak, and Florges for Qi Qingqi bc Xian Shu -> fairy type scratches my brain so good. Plus i love the idea of BZ cultivators being terrified to set foot on XS not bc women but bc they would get absolutely bodied lol.

I think that they could all still totally have those starters on their teams tho, i really love the idea that more rare/powerful Pokémon are locked away from ppl who don’t have the money or status to afford them.
