Odile: Hot Goth Voodoo Flapper Daughter of Facilier-Rothbart. Poisoned apple of her father's eye. Resembles Tiana-Odette by coincidence, not a spell. (This will be important later).

Tiana-Odette-Odettiana: New girl in the area, trying to establish her restaurant and having trouble. Does Not Know Who Facilier Is or What He Does. In a relationship with Naveen-Siegfried already, they want to get hitched <3

Odile and Odette become aware of each other because they're each respectively mistaken for the other one day--everyone gets antsy and worried when they think Odette is Odile, Odile has a flirtatious near-miss kiss with Siegfried. They actually meet and are stunned to find a doppelganger. Glam Goth VS Hardworking Would-Be Entrepreneur. They contrast, but otherwise hit it off.

Odile has no idea what her father is up to, assuming everyone is just prickly over his magical talent. Never mind the missing girls--she lives with him! She'd know if he had anything to do with that!*

*She wouldn't. Facilier forbids her to go near a certain corner of the bayou where the cygnet girls are trapped. Oops. Anyway!

Odile introduces Odette to her father for a laugh. Why didn't you tell me I had a twin, Daddy? Ha ha. ...Dad?

Facilier can't hear her over the sound of realizing he's met the Perfect Final Sacrifice for the Flock. He does his usual patter BS, "I'm no businessman myself, but if you want to meet the kind of Folk who have the power to make things happen..." Etc etc. Odettiana shakes his hand on it.

Cue swan curse.

But! Unlike the other cygnet girls Odettiana meets in the bayou trap, she has a beloved who can save her and break the curse! Just needs to do the confession of True Love about it! Maybe throw in a loophole about how the curse on all the swans will be lifted if the flock gets broken up by a cured member. Whoo! But how and why is Facilier doing all this nonsense anyway? For power? Nope.

Anti-Villain time. Facilier is doing this to save Odile. Once upon a time, when Odile was a child, she was either on the brink of death or dead in her father's arms. Having already lost his wife, Facilier-Rothbart can't lose her too. He begs the Friends for aid at the edge of the bayou, and the Friends answer. One, at least. He resurrects/saves Odile. The trade?

"I have saved her. I am owed her. When she comes of age at her eighteenth year, I shall return to collect her."

Facilier panics, tries to haggle. Which the Friends (plural) expected. A new trade, then.

"You will deliver five maidens in her place at the appointed hour. Fail in this, and you forfeit your daughter. Agreed?" ...Agreed. Yikes.

Cue Facilier panicking again about the potential intrusion of Siegfried and him heavily encouraging Odile to ~steal the man she's owed~ (and unknowingly doom Odette and the other girls). But Odile can't bring herself to betray Odettiana or Siegfried with such an act, self-assigned bad girl or not. ...Where is Odette anyway? Dad? Dad?

Odile's birthday strikes at midnight. The Friends are coming to collect. Odile and Siegfried have to race to the bayou to stop it all.

Climax involves a clash of different loves: Romance (Siegfried and Odette) Friendship (Odile, Odette, the Cygnets) and Familial (Odile: "Daddy, stop! You can't do this to them!" Facilier, cracking up: "Better them than you!") Lots of fantasy and angst and feathers flying around. Ultimately the love confession between Siegfried and Odette works to lift the swan curse on Odette and the Cygnets...

...but loops back and turns Odile into the Black Swan, at least long enough for the Friend who wanted her in the first place to snatch her up and run. Before Facilier can grieve, the Heroes aid him in giving chase to Save the Day and rescue Odile and so on and so forth to get to the Disney Certified Happy Ending (c) (tm) yaaaay!*

*(Don't look up the ballet, kids, don't worry about it.)

It’s not “the innies and outies are completely separate people OR they’re exactly the same people.” It’s not “Mark loves Gemma OR Mark loves Helly/na.” It’s not “Ricken is a misguided but sweet and well-meaning doofus OR Ricken is a selfish prick with no self-awareness who’s sold out to Lumon.” It’s not “Milchick fully embraces the rebellion right now, OR he’s fully sold his soul to the company store and there’s no coming back.” It’s not “Cobel’s programming means will always jump at a chance to gain favor in the eyes of Lumon regardless of the cost, OR she fucking despises Lumon for what they’ve done to her and she’s going to take them down at any cost.”

It’s always going to be AND!! It’s always going to be something in between, and complex, and nuanced, and layered. That in-between uncertainty, to me, is the real meat of the show. Why not dig into it?

sorry for endlessly posting about this it will happen again. to be totally clear I have literally nothing against healthy skepticism or doubt like it’s totally warranted. I don’t expect anyone to just buy into the Bobby being buried alive theory if they can’t or don’t want to. but saying there’s no way 911 WOULD do a MCD fakeout and bury someone alive to wake up inside their own coffin and lie about it is just. kind of silly to say? not only is that good tv, this is a show that revels in being wacky and has done countless absurd things to main characters that they reasonably should not have survived. if you can survive rebar through the middle of your skull, falling through multiple floors of a collapsing high rise, a helicopter crash AND gunfire, a ladder truck rolling over on you, a tsunami, getting shot by a sniper in the street, getting struck by lightning, getting stabbed in the gut and left for dead, your house burning down two separate times, a cruise ship flipping over, viral encephalitis, entire dispatch ceiling collapsing on top of you, angel of death paramedic defibrillating your heart multiple times, being buried under 40 feet of mud, a bridge collapse, getting your throat slashed by a serial killer, an astrophysics lab exploding, a hostage situation, another hostage situation, another hostage situation, commercial airliner falling out of the sky that you have to land, literally your heart not beating on its own for 14 minutes, a dog driving a car on fire down a hill, and the same virus. among other things. idk I think they can bury a guy alive after killing him in a way no other character is allowed to physically confirm and saying he’s dead. personally. on the show where like three separate calls have involved someone being buried alive and one of those was this season and they’ve also had a separate guy wake up on the autopsy table before. whether you think they are doing it or not doesn’t really matter. but if you ask me it does kind of seem even more ridiculous to claim they would never do it.

It's also come to my attention that people believe the Trump administration was at least attempting to override due process and break the law in order to deport Mahmoud Khalil, because a judge had to block his deportation in order for a hearing to happen.

I think it is important to know that at least according to PBS news, this is not illegal. A greencard holder does not have the right even to a hearing with a judge if accused of supporting terrorism, if the Secretary of Homeland Security or the Attorney General "has reason to believe" that they COULD engage in terrorism, whatever on earth that means.

To be clear I don't support this. Everyone should have the right to plead their case to someone, and the government should always be obligated to gather and present evidence to someone who is at least theoretically impartial, when accusing anyone of anything.

But it is nevertheless important to understand that there was no attempt at expanding or breaking the law on "behalf" of the Jewish community. The Immigration and Nationality Act was passed in 1953. Countless people have been deported under it and it has existed for 73 years. There's literally nothing unique about this case other than that it is a Jew hater being deported. The fact that a judge stepped in in order for Mahmoud Khalil to have a hearing is more unique than the act of immediate deportation itself.

My point in making this post is not to imply in some way that the attempt by the Trump administration to deport Mahmoud Khalil without a hearing is ok because it is legal, but to push back on this narrative being repeated by everyone, including Jews, that Trump is using the pretense of caring about antisemitism to illegally expand the law. He is not. The law is already this broad, and has existed for 73 years.

Going along with the narrative that Trump is using the pretense of fighting antisemitism to expand the law is dangerous, even if we are only going along with it to disavow it and say we do not support him doing that in our name. It is dangerous because it is not true. It gives weight to the idea that the Trump administration has any particular interest in even pretending to protect the Jewish community, and it gives weight to the idea that Jews and Jewish issues have some disproportionate control or influence over the government, and it gives weight to the idea that the existance of unethical laws utilized by our government are even tangentially related to Jews And Our Influence.

The reality is that the government has had the power to immediately deport any greencard holder they accuse of supporting terrorism for 73 years, and people are only now upset about it because there was an attempt at it being used against a Jew hater, and now the existance of this 73 year old law is being denied in favor of blaming The Jews And Their Power. Do not go along with this narrative, even if it is to disavow it. It is a complete fabrication.

No Jews, no news, as they say. That's really the start and end of what is going on here. The Trump administration was attempting to immediately deport a supporter of antisemitic terrorism in the same way many other administrations have immediately deported countless other accused supporters of terrorism, and this story immediately became headline news, unlike the million others, specifically because it has to do with Jews. Don't let them do this. Don't think going along with a version of reality where an unfair precedent is being created on our behalf is going to end well for us, even if you are only going along to disavow that "unfair precedent." Please fight for the truth. Trump is not using the pretense of caring about antisemitism to get his foot in the door for mass deportations without a hearing. That door has been wide open for 73 years and it has absolutely nothing to do with Jews at all.

all i’m saying is- Logan and Wade both have raging PTSD, trauma, dealt with incredible loss, where in the military, and have been given shit ass cards in life. Both have expressed just wanting to experience happiness but are treated like weapons/destructive and unable to keep people in their lives due to that.

So of course when they finally get together and realise they are actually truly stuck with one another, and neither can die/be physically hurt they are just gonna settle down together forever. Because what’s better than another unkillable immortal than one that has also been through the same terrible fucked up shit and can actually relate to it all.

When they finally come to the mutual decision to give up the life of killing and destruction they retire and leave the city to settle down in a small woodsy town, probably south but still within reasonable driving distance of the X-mansion and Al. they get married and just go full throttle domestic, small little house with a garden and big back yard; just them and Mary.

Everyone in the town is familiar with them, even though they seem a little off, but they do all their shopping at the local markets and are always friendly and willing to do any grunt work/help out neighbours and the community. Although they do relatively stick to themselves most of the time.

They would also both definitely get soft, Logan would still jog in the mornings and has a little at home gym in their garage he’d work out in mainly to blow off steam, but he has a little tummy now and doesn’t look like he’s dehydrated and withering away. Wade definitely wouldn’t give a shit and is just happy he doesn’t have to work anymore and has his domestic family life he always wanted so he’s more indulgent and a little lazy so he gets Chunky. but Logan loves it because it’s just representative of their retirement and the softness of their life now.

I also imagine they go back home for the holidays for the first time in a bit, and everyone is a little shocked at first bc they look so different, not just physically but the happiness just radiates off of them and everything about them is so warm and inviting. Ness sees Wade for the first time and almost bursts into tears because of how happy and content he finally is after all shit he’s been through.

like yeah obviously legality does not correlate to morality and i personally do not think ip laws should exist. however the reason i find it relevant to emphasize that selling fanfiction is illegal is not to make some moral stand about the sanctity of ip so much as to be like. hey this is the way it fucking is and if u break the law by selling fic u run the risk of creating larger legal troubles for entire communities of fic writers who just want to share their work for free. also more to the point the reason selling fic is so shitty is that it is a question of labor exploitation. i spent hundreds of hours creating something which you are now packaging and selling to make a profit without compensating me for my labor, which is not only exploitative but spits in the face of the spirit in which this fanfiction was shared—as a labor of love, meant to be free to anyone who wanted to read it. and the gag is that if u did want to fairly compensate me for my labor it would literally be thousands of dollars (assuming i’m charging even minimum wage for time spent writing & editing) which is why it isn’t fucking possible to sell fanfiction for a fair price!! all that on top of the fact that i (and many other fic writers) explicitly say “don’t sell or buy bound copies of my fic” just makes it flat-out undeniable that this is a fucking shitty thing to do, and i genuinely have no sympathy for people who go “wait what i’m not supposed to sell or buy fanfiction 🥺🥺🥺” like shut the fuck up i hate u
