It just now occurred to me that Turbo had to have learned the Konami code before the Roadblasters incident.

Remember there's a 10-year gap where he was in hiding, (sugar rush was plugged in the year 1997) so how could he get the code and the napkin while being in hiding?

The point I'm getting at is, why would he write it down? His game was still popular.

In the flashback, Felix said, "Back when the arcade first opened, Turbotime, was by far the most popular game."

So what motivation could he possibly have to write it down prior to the Roadblasters incident?

Edit: now that I think about it, he could've got the napkin as litter when he was in hiding and wrote it down when learning. (But I like my conspiracy I mean speculation better)

Another question is how did he get it? Did someone willingly tell him? Or did he just happen to overhear it and just grabbed the nearest napkin to write it down on?

Hypothetically, if he got it from someone else, who was it?

No video game character in their RIGHT MIND would give out that kind of information! They're too scared to go against the program/change code which will cause a game to get unplugged.

Am I just slow to realize this? (Ok maybe) Or am I onto something here?! (Probably)

This feels like foreshadowing, right? And we know something from Tommy's past - that was NOT part of the flashbacks - will come up next ep and have Buck spiral a little (whether because he doesn't know how to support Tommy or some other reason we don't know).

What crew could have not been behind him when things went wrong?

(And never mind that the timeline is gonna be 100 ways fucked up again and impossible, making Tommy simultaneously 40 and 55 years old lmao because what is math and when are the writers ever gonna make plausible timelines? But alas, let's just ignore).

So. The army. Something went wrong there, and his team did not have his back and was not there for him. Either he fucked up and was (partially) responsible for tragedy. Or... DADT. He was caught, and whoever he was with turned on him, maybe even blamed it all on Tommy to save his own ass, and then Tommy got kicked out of the army.

(Which also is a little implausible because he would have to have been discharged honorably, which is something they often did with cases of gay soldiers, just writing psychological issues down as reason instead of outing them, but I dunno if the writers are gonna be this realistic/meticulous about it when they feel a deviation from that is the more interesting story to tell).

And Aaron will bottle it up, until it becomes too much. I’m picturing the scene now, Aaron is despair crying and having a breakdown and saying to Robert "he’s blackmailing me".

Prior to that Aaron staying quiet and ignoring Robert because he is scared, scared of going back to prison.

All the gaslighting, control, manipulation that John is doing is going to affect him and not want him to speak up… especially if John threatens the life of the people he cares about

ETA: And Robert is going to spot those signs of Aaron spiralling as he knows his man better than anyone else

So John is going to use the Anthony secret to get Caleb to do what he wants regarding Robert. All but guaranteeing that he will use the Anthony secret at some point to get Aaron to do what he wants regarding Robert. The question is when does he play that card?

Aaron's resolve is going to break fairly quickly. He will convince himself he just wants to be friendly or helpful to Robert in order to get to spend time with him. You can already see that on Aaron's face when Robert is near him, or anyone says anything borderline nice about Robert. John cannot allow that to happen. That would officially signal John beginning to lose the hold/control he has over Aaron. But if he plays the Anthony card that quickly he's revealing himself to Aaron, and I don't think he'll want to do that. He needs the Aaron adoration. He feeds off of it (disgusting). Aaron kowtows to John, we've seen it building slowly for a while now, and it started to come to the forefront this week. Aaron defers decisions to John. So how does John forbid Aaron from being friendly with Robert without giving himself away?
