Guillermo going into that room with a plan on his mind to get the audience to cry on his behalf one last time with a well-rehearsed, complete lie of sob story about needing to move on and how he'll always leave his heart with Nandor wherever his solo life takes him, only to immediately have said plans pushed to the side the second Nandor starts alluding to possibility of a love confession, and then heel-turns on his own plans and instead tries THREE TIMES to get it out of him on camera for An Even Better Ending is the most iconic thing this man has ever done. He really said "I've got this emotional manipulation under control. I can save this documentary" and then the second Nandor starts cracking he was like. Or I could get my dick sucked sloppy style right here right now.
#wwdits#nandermo#nandor looking away from him and us being able to see him immediately trying to reel it back in. also hilarious#“lots of reasons” he says after guillermo blinks up at him with big brown eyes and the camera crew lean in a little closer with raised brow

💜My immediate thoughts on WWDITS FX S5E3💚
* Yana Gorskaya always directs the BEST Nandermo episodes!
* I love that we got a fresh, more subtle, “SeanaaAaAaAAy”
* Guillermo’s interview sitting in his footlocker is so sweet! It’s a reminder that Nandor bought him something he really wanted and that Nandor is responsible, in this small way, for helping Guillermo feel more like a vampire.
* Guillermo standing behind Nandor when Sean and Charmaine are in the fancy room is just a subtle reminder of how dedicated Guillermo remains to Nandor. He is not abandoning him.
* I WANT BOTH OF THOSE SEAN SHIRTS!
* AWWWW Nandor, your crush is showing, bb!
* Guillermo’s super speed was… lacking. He seems less strong than when he was slaying/bodyguarding in S2, 3, and 4. Maybe it’s because he is further away from being his true self. Laszlo saying that the turning has been “stymied”, to me, lends credence to the idea that Nandor’s blood could kickstart its completion. Guillermo will come into his full strength when he is finally united with Nandor for eternity.
* I gotta admit, it feels a bit like they just needed to find something for Natasia to be doing. I think she did a great job with the physical performance, but I don’t know how much her/the doll’s story here was needed.
* “Soft after two pumps”, Nandor? Could it be because you’ve just been thinking of Guillermo (the djinn’s wish) while not being with Guillermo. That issue will go away 👏 once 👏 you 👏 are 👏 with 👏 Guillermo!!!
* Nandor demanding he “is wanted” as a reason to spend time with Guillermo (and Laszlo) during their experiments was so telling. Like he needed to hear Laszlo say he is a powerful hypnotist to be happy, he needs to audibly hear that he is actually wanted, even if he’s the one saying it. Guillermo saying “I chose you. I want you.” is going to make this babygirl cream his jeans velvet robes.
* Nandor looking at Guillermo before saying he can fly higher than Laszlo is another obvious tell that he is only concerned with Guillermo’s opinion of him. He is searching for that validation!
* “Grey Boy” is such a good nickname for CR 😂
* Laszlo calling Guillermo “dear boy” is a huge compliment when you consider how their relationship in the series began. Laszlo may not show it (cuz it takes him a long time to show his emotions), but he does care for Guillermo’s wellbeing.
* Awwww Laszlooooo, look at you out living your best beach boy life! I’d say that red face’s sunburn would be worth it! It is interesting that Laszlo is able to take strength from Guillermo. Sure, it’s something Guillermo doesn’t sacrifice anything to give away (just some hours on the treadmill), but the metaphor of using Guillermo’s self-defined weakness (he hasn’t been turned well enough, he isn’t vampiric enough) to help bring a vampire joy is actually quite lovely
* Nandor admitted it! OMFG! I was SO ready for him to deny deny deny that he was just trying to impress Guillermo but HE DIDN’T! Honestly, I still can’t believe it.
* Not the TikTok trainspotting guy Nandor Cam 😂. As I watched Nandor slowly going further and further up, I kept trying to imagine what he was saying to himself in his mind. It had to be something about wanting to outshine Laszlo so that Guillermo will stay with him forever. And then maybe his (usually blissfully empty) mind would have led him to say “Well, there is one way I could make sure we’re together forever…”
* Charmaine’s face when Laszlo said how much Sean has tried to kiss him. 👀 Might we see a jealous Charmaine??
* Naked Nandy! GOOD LORD! Thank you writers. Thank you, Yana.
* What does the Guillermo cough with the smoke mean?! It might have just been his breath in the cold, but it really looked like a bit of smoke or steam escaped him upon seeing his master naked (and with the djinn-dick). He still protected his Master though, even with the surprise, and that tending behavior was sweet. **UPDATE: I don’t watch with subtitles, so I missed the fact that Guillermo said “Oh my God” and then he coughed some smoke. That’s so perfect!**
* The jalopy lives and it looked great! But the best part of the parade was seeing Guillermo being so cute and happy. Yes, he’s owning his identity, but he also knows that Nandor will literally go to space for him!
* And as for that end credits scene…Nonononononononononononononono
#what a rollercoaster#wwdits s5 spoilers#wwdits s5#wwdits s5e3#I am overall LOVING this season so far#I do hope Nadja’s plot gets more grounded#but the Nandor-Guillermo-Laszlo dynamic is ON POINT#this was THE most Nandermo-heavy episode EVER!#THANK YOU YANA!!!!#wwdits#what we do in the shadows#what we do in the shadows fx#wwdits fx#nandermo

Hi!! Is it okay if I ask what you see in Nandor and Guillermo? As a ship. I binged the whole show and idk it just feels like Nandor isn’t really into him :( he’s always so mean. If he was nicer I’d probably ship it myself but I’d really like to know why people like it so much despite the fact?
Hello anon thanks for asking!! I'm about to out myself as an undeniable dweeb by taking this mission extremely seriously.
First, I want you to know I was like you at first. I fell almost immediately in love with Guillermo as a character and, although Nandor is hawt, I felt Guillermo deserved much better in a partner than his boss who is mean to him. AND, were these somehow real events and real people, I’d say no, this relationship is quite flawed and both parties should probably stay far away from each other. But since it’s fiction, the ~themes~ and ~dynamics~ of the relationship are more important to those of us who are on board!
My personal Nandermo awakening happened around the time of Gail/The Cloak, where with "It's not gonna last" and "No we're just work friends" (and later on, "My Nan-master," Guillermo hugging the Nandor dolly etc) it was confirmed that Guillermo at least has feelings for Nandor and that this is a plotline that will be explored further. With that in mind, I saw with new eyes several things that happened previously...
At this juncture I want to quote a good post by @nonagethimus which lays things out very simply:
whats so good about guillermo and nandor's relationship is that they both have stupidly complicated feelings about the other. if guillermo was just starry-eyed in love with nandor their story would be boring, and if he just secretly hated him it wouldn't work. if nandor only ever looked down on guillermo and didn't care about his life or feelings the whole thing would be pathetic, and if he secretly loved him from the start it would be cliché. what's great is that guillermo deeply admires nandor and also thinks he is stupid, childish and hapless. and what's great is that nandor treats guillermo badly and genuinely finds him kind of pathetic and yet he would rather die than let guillermo take the fall for them in s1 and is completely miserable and lost whenever guillermo leaves him
It’s complicated; both parties feel both affection and trepidation towards one another, which is what makes it so intriguing. For me the most important throughline on Nandor’s side is the tension between his own looong-felt obligation to appear powerful and relentless to his subordinates, and the genuine but well-hidden care he feels for Guillermo. He feels he is expected to treat Guillermo harshly, but is often much nicer to him when they are alone.
As early as Manhattan Nightclub, we see the whole underlying theme of “Nandor needs a friend” conclude with Nandor confessing that Guillermo is his friend, only for him to not be able to handle admitting it and immediately take it back.
In the Celeste episode, Nandor gets rather vulnerable (for him) and admits he is very unhappy without Guillermo around and even concedes a bit of his power and gives him a gift that he actually wanted in order to get him back. Though Guillermo is standoffish at first, he quickly accepts and goes in for a hug (which Nandor isn’t ready for, but still).
In the s2 finale when Guillermo leaves again, Nandor says the telling line, “I drove him away, didn’t I? Perhaps I should have been a bit more aloof with him.” Against all common sense, this suggests that every time Nandor is standoffish with Guillermo, turns down hugs, and abruptly says something mean when conversations get too respectful or affectionate, that’s him actively TRYING to get Guillermo to stay! The way he keeps promising to turn him but never does, that’s Nandor being afraid that Guillermo would leave for good after getting “what he wants.”
But, the juicy part is, we know that Guillermo actually loves Nandor for more than just his ability to turn him, and that Guillermo would, in all likelihood, wish to continue their partnership whether he was turned into a vampire or not!
Then Theatre des Vampires happens. Guillermo continues caring for Nandor despite being caged, and Nandor fights against his roommates and all vampire tradition to prevent Guillermo from being killed. He has been doing this, in fact, from as early as the first vampiric council meeting, through the Topher episode, and again in the beginning of s3. He cares, undeniably, despite his relentless facade! And he admits that at the beginning of Wellness Center.
And at the end of Wellness Center, while Guillermo is heroically and sexily rescuing Nandor, Nandor objects verbally, but he still takes Guillermo’s hand. He waits patiently while Guillermo kicks vampire ass, and he takes his hand again and again. He’s down bad for Guillermo, but he STILL won’t admit it even to himself! And that’s just juicy!!!
The dynamic continues through “Farewell” (the super slumber ep) and builds to a devastating climax that seems so inconsequential on the surface, when Nandor agrees to take Guillermo’s bag to the train station, and actually follows through. This seems like the most basic favor. BUT! This really indicates Nandor is starting to understand, through his own extreme hardheadedness, that Guillermo will fight and risk it all for him, and he allows himself a tiny act of kindness, trusting that Guillermo will stay “despite” this. And then Laszlo fucks that up lol
In conclusion, they love each other in spite of themselves, but neither of them wants to admit it, and that is the Austenesque romance dynamic we’ve all been eating up since forever!! If it’s not for you, it’s not for you, and that’s fine. Everyone’s different. But it’s For Me big time lmao
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to sort through this! Sorry it got so long lol, I never get asks so it was building up inside me. I know I missed stuff, if anyone wants to add on feel free! (cuz this is obviously not long enough lol /s)

I only JUST binge watched all of wwdits and am looking through the tag today so I may have missed talk about this but. My favorite part of the dick wish is that when Nandor fucks himself over at the end and the djiin asks if that's his wish, Guillermo, who has spent the ep being very shrewd about building this wish, fed the fuck up about being back at the house and not able to pull away, AND insisting he's not jealous at all, sort of. Lets this one pass by. And then he's not surprised at all when Nandor tells him he's been tricked by the djiin into thinking about Guillermo when he uses his dick!
So my theory is that Guillermo was fully aware this was going to happen as soon as Nandor took the sarcastic "thank you" too far into insulting and he's being Petty and not stopping him on purpose lol "I spent hours workshopping this for you and you thank the djiin but not me?? Dick curse for Nandor!! Dicke curse for Nandor for one thousand years!!!" Big Win for Guillermo I love him
That's a fun theory! I'm not sure I subscribe to it, but it's fun to think about.
Personally, I think Guillermo was just distracted and he didn't think about the implications of the phrasing. I think he was actually pleased with the thank you he got from Nandor (there was a very brief smile before Nandor started talking about thinking about him when he uses his dick) but as soon as Nandor started talking about him and his dick at the same time, you could see him immediately check out of the conversation. It's a subject that makes him very uncomfortable.
I don't think the Djinn entirely manipulated Nandor into doing what he did, but he did plant the seed that Guillermo is a great familiar that deserved to be thanked and I think he did also notice how uncomfortable Guillermo got. He took advantage of Guillermo's distraction, I think. A good Djinn is adaptable, lmao, and when he saw his chance, he struck. But Nandor saying that he would think of Guillermo every time he used his dick... like, that was all him, haha. No one made him say that.
Honestly, I think the Djinn was fishing. I think he really does respect Guillermo's ability to outlawyer him, even as it annoys the shit out of him, but he said all those nice things because he was hoping that Nandor would say something he could take advantage of. I'm not sure even he expected that Nandor would give him something so uhhhh damaging.
Weird jump, Nandor! Both of them just wanted you to appreciate Guillermo some more, but you went right to the "I'll think of you while having sex" part! And uh. Honestly, I don't think he was being sarcastic when he thanked him and said he'd think of him. A little exasperated at being made to say it (like when Guillermo made him say he was a great familiar in that ep where Guillermo left him) but on the whole, earnest. Very fucking weird thing to be earnest about, but Nandor is pretty fucking weird.
As for whether Guillermo was surprised or not... I don't think he was expecting the exact form of the curse, but I do think he was kind of half-expecting something to go wrong. I think that's why he seemed more grimly annoyed than surprised. Guillermo, I have noticed, does not like to lose. lmao. I think he was more focused on the "goddamn it, he outfoxed me" than Nandor's love life issues.
Honestly speaking, I think the full implications of what exactly Nandor said will probably hit Guillermo later. Like once he's no longer like "goddamn it, Djinn" or distracted by what's going on at the club, he'll actually be forced to picture what's happening and he'll try very hard to lock that away.
They're both in denial. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
