Rise Ramblings #351

One of my favorite things about Rise is the utilization of nicknames in the show. This is the first iteration of the TMNT that really dived deep into nicknaming the boys. ❤️🧡💙💜

Also, the fandom has come up with quite a few great names of their own!

Mikey rubs his head, squinting down at the photo. Primetime promised that it would be smooth sailing to the Hidden Kingdom with his portals. I don't think falling from the sky and crashing in the middle of nowhere counts as smooth sailing. His eyebrows furrow as he racks through his brain for remembrance of the two turtles. He then looks back towards Hop with an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry, I haven’t. Maybe Raph has.”

Mikey calls over Raph, who's currently freaking out. Raph frantically looks around the seemingly endless, open field. "WHERE ARE WE?! WE WERE JUST IN THE TARVEN! OH, RAPH KNEW HE SHOULDN'T HAVE TRUSTED PRIMETIME-". Hop looks concerned, slowly retracting his head into his shell. Mikey clears his throat as he puffs out his chest, "This is a job for Dr.Delicate Touch."

Before Hop can ask, Mikey grabs Raph's face. "GET YOUR MIND RIGHT SON!" Once Raph quietly stares at Mikey, he shows the picture to Raph. "Considering you're a shogun and prince, have you seen them?" Raph gently grabs the photo, taking a real close look at it. Raph shakes his head, offering the photo back to Hop. "Sorry, man, I don't have a clue who they are." Hop sighs, stuffing the photo back into his pocket. "Well, thanks for trying to help me out anyway".

As he starts walking away, Mikey stops him. "Hey, you're like the spitting image of Primetime." He looks towards Raph for confirmation. "I'm not going crazy, right?"

Raph shrugs, a lopsided grin gracing his face. "Considering you've been locked in a tower for your entire life, you're crazy." Mikey gives Raph a half-assed glare, elbowing Raph. With Raph's armor, though, Mikey does more damage to himself. Raph looks back towards Hop, a flicker of recognition lighting his face. "But now that you mention it, you're right."

Hop gazed back and forth between the two turtles, a puzzled expression crossing his face as he tried to understand their comment. "Who, and more importantly, why do they have my wrestling name?" All of a sudden, a blue line forms right between them. The blue line expands into a vortex, and a soft humming comes from it. Primetime peeps his head right through, a rueful smile on his face as he looks toward Raph and Mikey. "Hey guys, how's it going?"

Hop points at Primetime excitedly, "OMG, ANOTHER VERSION OF ME?" Primetime had always believed he was one of a kind, but here he was, face to face with an alternate version of himself. The moment they met, an electric spark ignited between them, each one feeding off the other's boundless charisma. Mikey was doing anything but keeping this duo in check; Instead, he was fanning the flames of their energy, revving them up even more.

Donnie finally walks through the portal, impatience in every step he took. Leo said it wouldn't take him that long to get Raph and Mikey back. "Nardo, what the hell is taking you so-" Donnie's shoulders sagged as he horror filled his very soul at the sight befire him. His brother and a mirror image of himself merging their reckless stupidity with an inflated sense of ego. The sight was overwhelming, a grotesque spectacle teetering on the brink of disaster. Donnie collapsed to his knees, a raw scream erupting from his throat. This was his worst nightmare.

Raph rubbed a weary hand over his face, letting out a deep groan that echoed his frustration at the absurdity of the situation. "This was supposed to be a quick adventure, but no! Instead, we just had to get stuck in an AU competition."
