Hi Bam I hope you are having a good day!
Quick question have you ever based Narinder's cat-like behavior on your own cats if so which ones?
I DO YEAH. Cat's names and what they do
Ashley - Cuddles. Meows when not given attention. Always hovering and will completely ignore whatever you're doing in order to be in your focus, fuck whatever on the desk, that's gotta go
Greyson - Also an attention whore. Meows and knocks over anything in his way to get to you
Mani - Stares. A lot. Will ignore you and then randomly ambush you
Toni - The trauma kitty that isolates but she really likes cheese snippets and Stare at you. Constantly Staring At You.
Bennett - way too friendly to apply to Nari but he does shed everywhere does that count

Since nari has cat mannerism you know how cats meow when they want attention would the equivalent of that be Narinder walking around just repeatedly yelling lambs name
Pffft thats a funny idea!
N: Lambert.
L: Yes my king?
N: ... go check on Aym and Baal.
L: ... ok...
.....
N: Lambert.
L: Yes my king?
N: Your cape is stuck on your armor.
L: oh, thanks.
...
N: Lambert.
L: ...Yes my king?
N: Ah nevermind.
...
N: Lambert.
L: (about to scream their brain out) yes...my king. Is there something the matter?
N: Hmm no.
L: My king please excuse my rudeness but why do you keep calling my name for no- I mean if there is something troubling you please be upfront.
N: I just wanted to say your name.
L: oh um...why?
N: ...why indeed...

2, 7, and 12 for your Narinder! 🐾
The Narinder ask game
Thank you so much for asking :)
2. Why does the red crown find him worthy as a bearer?
Tumblr media
His father tried to keep him safe, but when war came to his village Narinder was an unfortunate victim.
He died and woke up with the crown on his head
He should have lived a happy life, but most likely would have died in a farming accident of sorts, he was never destined to live a long life, unless another bearer of the red crown was chosen before him.
✧.*-----------------------------------------------------------------------*.✧
7. Which sibling was his favorite? Least favorite?
Narinder's relationships with his siblings has always fluxuated. But shamura has always remained Narinder's favourite even if they rarely had time for him waging wars on the gods of the lands. Narinder was always trying to be the perfect brother, be the perfect god and never felt he could live up to their expectations, even if that was something Shamura never stated or was aware of.
As time passed eventually his siblings lost spouces and those they cared for, they began to distance themselves from Narinder or were to busy to see him as their cults flourished, while his remained stagnant and barely able to sustain itself.
Narinder's least favourite sibling was Kallamar who he could see was afraid of him despite being the one to raise Narinder.
Post becoming mortal his feelings are complicated, the guilts of the betrayal and the anger he still feels to them is a lot to process.
He wants to hate Shamura so much but just can't. They're too confused to know what they did. Narinder struggles to be around them and is largely avoidant.
His favourite sibling post mortality is Leshy. Leshy wasn't fully aware of what what the plan was and felt enormous fear and guilt for what they did. He's angry Narinder couldn't just follow the rules, then they'd still be a happy family still. But after some self reflection he realised that could never work and the two make up. You can often find them in the drink house hanging out together or fighting in a field.
✧.*-----------------------------------------------------------------------*.✧
12. Does he have a dedicated meow button?

9, 12, 42 and 43 questions for narinder
9. Do you have headcanons about who his witnesses or ‘bosses’ would be pre-exile? If so, who are they?
... I actually started designing them LMAO (<- guy who will take any excuse to design something) I'll post them in a separate post when I'm done and link back to them when I do. hehe.
12. Does he have a dedicated meow button?
Prrrrobably around the base of its tail. :}c also he does the "mrrrp" when he's bothered/woken up when not paying attention. Very, very rare occurence... But it can happen.
42. Was he born male, female, intersex, or do you have no opinion on his sex?
No opinion on his sex. He could have changed things around for all I know... I haven't asked him... :/c
43. Does he ever wear jewelry or makeup?
Not really, no. He barely tolerates the little accessories Chirin has made for his little outfits. Think being burdened by chains for a thousand years kinda uhhhh... killed any interest in jewelry tbh. Not really his thing.

Narinder on catnip headcannons. 🌿
Btw here are the effects of catnip incase you need a reference or knowledge on it.
Tumblr media
𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬.
𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐧𝐢𝐩, 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐬(?),
𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: 𝐍𝐨𝐧𝐞
𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐞: 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐬
Tumblr media
𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫/𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐬
Narinder on catnip is... something else.
To put it simply.
He will consistently meow.
In general, he rarely meows and is pretty ashamed of it.
But on catnip, he's meowing 24/7, he doesn't shut up.
For some reason, the affect lasts longer on him than the average cat.
He's constantly rubbing his cheeks against people (people he knows)
If you don't know, cats have scent glands in their cheeks, when they rub their cheeks against you or an object, that's their way of marking their territory.
He often does it against the other bishops, which they're oddly often fine with (even after they've all become followers).
It tends to make Shamura tear up, when they become a follower.
Because after everything that happened, it makes them so happy that Narinder has kept some of his old ways.
Especially one of his old affectionate habits.
The rest of the bishops always seem happy when he does this.
Except for Heket, for some reason she has no reaction.
Well, outward reaction.
Inwardly, she's happy, but she's also kind of mad.
In the sense of "who the fuck gave him catnip again"
and that brings us to this;
Narinder has an IQ of 1, when on catnip.
He can still speak, sure.
But he will literally make up random words and random shit in general.
He also tends to take naps on the random rooftops
He doesn't remember any of it though.
He also can't walk in a straight line and gets scared by his own shadow.

Gonna be honest, no idea what that last asker was talking about when they said Narinder deserved purgatory more. The guy is messed up, don't get me wrong, but the sheep genocide was completely out of his control. There isn't even any evidence that he got locked up for anything other than inventing a way to revive followers!
Narinder is much more palatable than the bishops and the fandom tends to forget that making him pissy/angry all the time is actually pretty ooc (ESPECIALLY considering the time it took between updates). He liked you as a god, he was mad for a while as a follower, AND THEN HE SAID HE RESPECTED YOU AS A GOD BEFORE YOU EVEN FULLY FINISHED HIS QUEST LINE!
Tldr; Narinder isn't as bad as the bishops, torture is cringe unless it's character building :)
That cat spent a thousand years being punished, let him rest. He’s been punished for his betrayal, a thousand years of it. During the game his crime is trying to escape a prison that he would never be allowed out of. He’s given no opportunity to reform, no time to rest and no end in sight.
I do enjoy it when follower Narinder is a bitch, I just want him to be mean to me is that too much to ask?
I’m a chronic adhd rambler and I hate scrolling by long posts. More thoughts on Narinder under the cut.
I do think this bit of dialogue is telling.
Tumblr media
If you resurrect he seems to imply that resurrection is what started him towards his betrayal. He points out specifically that that there are no other gods to stop you from playing with life and death, this action makes him see himself in The Lamb. His reaction to the funeral is more reserved. Maybe he’s disappointed, maybe he feels some level of relief that you wouldn’t repeat his actions, maybe a bit of both.
And there’s his dialogue after his defeat.
Tumblr media
I was originally gonna say something about his murder dialogue but I got distracted by how fucked up he is. Narinder, baby, I know you’re the god of death but begging to die is not normal.
But yeah the point that he seems to respect the Lamb’s godhood kinda supports my game theory that the Lamb is more death than Narinder. At the end of his godhood Nari was corrupt, driven by revenge and power. Depending on your actions as the Lamb you are now either walking the same corrupt path as he did, respecting the natural order of life and granting rest, or a bit of both.
I do think its easiest to love Narinder out of all of the npcs in the game. Yeah okay he’s evil in that good tumbly sexler man kinda way but he’s also the character with the most content. He has the most dialogue, you meet with him the most, he’s got the hardest boss battle with unique mechanics. I get why he’s the fan favourite and why people like Narilamb, what gayer than being character foils? Nothing.
He’s my little meow meow and I’m mean to him cause I love him. Mwah.

1 and 25 meow meow 🐈‍⬛
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Narinder was young when he stumbled upon the Red Crown in the depths of a God’s temple, probably around 12ish. His whole life up to this point had been marred by misfortune and untimely death, making him an ideal fit as a Vessel to the Red Crown 👀
(*cough cough* I actually wrote an entire fanfic about my hcs for Narinder/The Bishops before he was banished *cough cough*)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When he was still a Bishop, veils were a key feature of ceremonial wear in his cult 😩 he usually forgoes the veil now that he’s a mortal, though he occasionally still dons it for special ceremonies with The Lamb (like his wedding to them 😩)

For the nari ask game, 12, 13, 25, 34 please
Spoilers for The Phoenix and the Lamb!
12. Does he have a dedicated meow button?
His little lamb hasn't found it yet, just a lot of purr buttons. Narinder's meow button was discovered by Shamura when he was a little kitten. It's on his tummy!
13. Does your Narinder have any unique features?
Aside from his scars, no. He wears an amulet instead of his crown in my book later on.
25. Why does he wear the veil? Or does he forgo it entirely?
Narinder has sensitive eyes. The light makes them sting! It was like that when he was a kitten and still as an adult. Plus, it makes him look mysterious. He loves the one Cael gave him. (See Gacha posts for that)
34. What was his first impression of the lamb?
He was all like, "Ah yes! My siblings have sealed their fate! Mua-ha-ha-ha-ha!" When he met Cael after his death, Narinder also thought that he was quite young, no more than 15 years old maybe. That was because of his height, Cael was actually 18. Regardless, he figured the lamb before him would do for the job. It was his final vessel after all.

4 and 40? 🐈‍⬛ meow meow?
Narinder - Ask game
4. Does the Red Crown give him any unique powers such as the power of rot (a la TROD AU)?
Ankswered here!
40. What is his biggest struggle after being spared? Fitting in with the cult? Seeing the lamb’s face daily? Chronic pain?
Tumblr media
One of the consequences of chronic stress, plus never having needed the same things as a mortal, is not realizing when something is wrong.
Accumulated stress causes various symptoms, from trouble sleeping, digesting food, staying still, pain manifested in various ways (for example, when combing your hair), and of course, difficulty thinking. When Narinder first arrived at the cult, he thought he was fine because at first glance there was nothing wrong with him and he seemed strangely calm, but internally, his body was overloaded with emotions that were taking their toll on him in the smallest of ways.
Furthermore, having lacked necessities like eating or sleeping for so long has meant that Narinder doesn't know his limits. When it comes to food, he doesn't know how to regulate how much or how little is too much, or how long to wait between meals. He sometimes can't tell when food is too hot, and he's definitely forgotten how to distinguish certain flavors, which is why he can eat spoiled food without realizing it. These same types of situations occur in other areas such as health, sleep, appearance and hygiene, among others.
The constant conversations with Avana were key in letting him know when something was right or wrong with him.

12. Does he have a dedicated meow button?
I understand that you are asking me if Narinder meows. He does; you will never hear it, but he does it when you least expect it.
Loud and sharp.
If that's not it, I'm sorry; I didn't quite understand the question XD
¡But thanks for asking!

following on some feedback, I'm splitting the Bishop's lore up into their own posts. The original will be Narinder's, and this one will be Leshy's. Following posts will have the other three.
Leshy: He of Havoc, Youngest Sibling, First to die. Leshy is a buff (I blame @eliza-forget for indoctrinating me into the buffLeshy side of the fandom) four armed bushworm, with the lower pair sprouting from his ribcage and being able to be retracted into his torso. Had his eyes not been gouged out during Narinder's imprisonment, he'd have a large middle eye surrounded by four smaller ones, like other bushworms. His circular mouth stays hidden under his eyes by foliage, at least until he opens it or gives one of his signature sharp smiles. He is the second tallest, second only to Shamura, at least before the new bishops start ascending.
From his indoctrination, Leshy has been a chaotic gremlin in the cult, albeit a harmless one. What he does doesn't seem to have rhyme or reason, claiming and cultivating a plot of land, playing with the kids, being the best bartender in the history of cult bartenders, and all of that despite being completely blind! He is an enigma even for Leoda, his thoughts a complete jumble of disconnected topics, but the Lamb can tell that, beneath all this chaos, there's something hiding in that worm brain of his. All in all, because he never properly experienced mortal life (he was an infant when he found the crown), he comes to enjoy the simple complexities of mortality over the complex simplicity of godhood, and he is thriving on it and having a blast while he does so.
Thing is, though, most of this chaotic behavior stems from a deep feeling of regret and guilt over the betrayal against his beloved brother that he has been thrusted into apparently out of nowhere. He knew nothing about what was going on at the time because he never cared about plans, until his eyes had been clawed out. He still didn't care about having plans of his own, but he at least started listening when his siblings had plans. Still, he dove deep into chaos in an attempt to escape from his guilt, which didn't really work. When the Lamb came to reap his life, he was forced to accept that he couldn't escape from his sins, so he accepted that he would be felled by Leoda.
Later on, he was plucked out of purgatory by a now divine Lamb, a vessel no longer, but an infant god. He feared what it meant for him, and even more so what it meant to his brother. He was surprised to find out that not only Narinder was alive, but was still recovering from his emprisonment. Leshy felt too much guilt to approach his brother again, thinking the panther hated his guts. It's hard to overstate his surprise when, after asking to join Leoda in a crusade through Darkwood and cleansing his now relic eye, Narinder called him to the portal area. There, away from the prying eyes of the cult, the two reconciled (more like wailed together in a tight embrace). Afterwards, Leshy continued his chaotic presence, but there was a certain calmness about it. It no longer seemed like a forced chaos, but a more natural one. Leoda confided in Narinder later that they were finally able to get a proper read to the worm's thoughts now.
Leshy no longer has a large enough reserve of fervor to cast curses.
Throughout his stay on the cult, a certain yellow cat followed him around, first at the orders of the Lamb, but later because they got enamored by Leshy's antics. They enjoy how the worm seems to just pop in and out of existence when no one is watching, or how he can get a different outfit the moment they look away. Most importantly, though, when Leshy starts reciprocating the feelings towards them, he doesn't care they are gender fluid, he just likes his yellow meow meow.
He also reconnects with his former disciples and witness, and they are all on somewhat friendly terms, at least after the whole "being sent to their doom" thing gets cleared out.
Leshy's crown was the Green Crown, which lords over the domains of Chaos (natural) and Nature (forests). It has a fay like behavior, chaotic and prone to doing pranks, and it very much influences the berer's behavior in the same way. Its abilities, and Leshy's Resquices of Godhood are Chaotic Presence and Blessing of the Forest. The former gives the bearer reality warping powers, though very limited ones. Usually short range teleportation, instant outfit changing or just doing small cosmetic changes to gaslight others, all of them working best when the focus is not on him and having a proper comedic timing to it. As a resquice, its requirements are more strict. The later gives an unerring sense of direction and location, making so it's impossible for the bearer to get lost in anything but the most labyrinthine of unnatural buildings. It does not help Leshy avoid bumping on stuff after becoming mortal. This is one of the few abilities that do not get diminished without a crown.

Yippie asks!
7. Which sibiling was his favorite? Least favorite?
His favourite sibling was Shamura (with close second Leshy) and the least favourite Kallamar; not because he disliked the squid, but simply because he preferred spending time with the others.
12. Does he have a dedicated meow button?
Look if I could make a mod where you play as Narinder (like, swap au mod) i would gave him a meow button that depending on his mood either sounds as the most cute meowing sound or growls. He would also purr when giving blessing
36. Does/Did he enjoy the lamb’s visits?
He does! His vessel always shared interesting stories, bringed gifts and in geberal was fun to spend time with. After being defeated, Bert visits to his hut were still slmething he looked forwards too.
