one of my favorite hc about near is that he just drops fun facts literally out of nowhere and keeps doing whatever he was doing after

i feel like Near hates Light, for sure

he obviously resents Light for a plethora of reasons (ie. being Kira / having shitty morals, whatever was going on with him and L, being arrogant and annoying, etc etc etc.)

but i think Near's dislike for Light is super controlled and nothing Light does ignites any kind of 'rage' within him, just a deep-seated irritation every time he hears the damn guy's voice

that being said, if Near and Misa started dating post-Kira (BUT ESPECIALLY ANY TIME DURING KIRA WHEN LIGHT IS STILL ALIVE BECAUSE JUST THINK OF THE DRAMA OF NEAR ACTUALLY GETTING TO GIVE LIGHT A PIECE OF HIS MIND) then Near's hatred of Light would be quite a bit stronger

Light treats Misa like shit, as we know – i think when Misa is telling Near about her and Light's relationship, Near just finds himself increasingly disgusted by Light's behavior (i think he and Misa both acknowledge that Misa was also not great and kinda shitty but, mind you, Near may be slightly biased and a little blindsided by his affection toward Misa at this point [though i do think he would generally try to stay objective]) and his dislike for Light just grows exponentially
