Vaguely based on an idea I had while making this edit. Plus I like to romantics my Aquaphobia.

Thinking of how different Neuvillet could have been, how paradoxical. He's basically a wild thing, tamed for the sake of granting mercy. Ocean-born dragon masquerading as a human...

🫧 Yandere Neuvillette (Regular)  

There's bubbles in your throat when he kisses you. Fresh salt from the sea and the prick of puka shells on your tongue.

You're drowning again. Just like last time. And the time before that.

Each kiss pulls you deeper into his watery depths.

He rests his forehead against yours, blue eyes too deep to stare into. You feel lost at sea when he looks at you. Too much love and misplaced adoration. It's like he's trying to swallow you whole.

When his blue lips part to utter your name in reverence you hear waterfalls singing your name. Siren songs begging you to follow, to impale your heart upon their love. Neuvillette leads you to the dance floor, dancing in tune with shark eye spirals.

He floats, treading air.

He's made to terrorize on both land and sea.

Deadly thing playing lovers with the wretched girl he stole.

You trace the tip of his gloved fingers expecting claws and scales and only finding smooth skin and delighted chuckles.

The band stops.

You don't recall when they started.

Neuvillette lowers his lips, the permanent blue painting your lips in his shade. Your lungs scream, overflowing.

So this is how sirens kill.

By weaving romance with water and pushing it down their lover's throat.

The water gives way, you choke with each deep breath. Coughing and gulping and trying to live. Neuvillette smiles bemused by your toil.

As the crowd claps for their Iudex and his lady...

🫧Yandere Dragon Neuvillette (feral)

There's bubbles in your throat when he kisses you. Sharp jagged teeth feeding into delicate lapis lips. Neuvillette's iridescent tail tightens around your hips, pulling you closer until you drown in his aqueous body.

The distinction between breathing and suffocating is subtle when you're trapped between two voids. Hungry hydrous dragon and the peril of Fontain's endless waters.

They say the hydro dragon haunts the seas.

Vindictive, ravenous.

Your ancestors used to feed it brides in hopes of complacency.

Neuvillette pushes you deeper, you feel the raptures in your ears, see the blood lining the translucent waters. His claws dig deeper into your back, bemused at the fortitude of bone. running talons between the pearls of your spine, playing with the space between each bone.

His eyes glow a hungry blue. You wonder if his kiss is a promise or a threat. If he intends to eat you whole and lick your bones with the gentlest of love. Or if he wants to savor each bite, enjoy mouthfuls of flesh and bone and marrow every day until there is nothing left of you.

The hydro dragon trails his forked tongue across your teeth, your throat, the uneven roof of your mouth. Utterly, utterly in love.

⚘ 𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘴𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘦.

The Iudex of Fontaine is a busy man. However could he possibly keep track of you in the hustle and bustle of everyday life? Fortunately for him, the Melusines have his back.

yandere! neuvillette x gn! reader.

Soft orange cracks of the setting sun lurked in the office of the Iudex, the endless stacks of papers causing him much stress as his mind wandered to literally anything other than the work he ought to be doing. His hands shook with worry as he glanced over at the large glass of water beside him, the clear liquid seemingly staring back at him, daring the man to finally make a move.

Despite his status, despite his power, Neuvillette was but a man when it came to you.

Never in his life had he allowed himself to grow so attached to another person. For all those centuries he spent walking on this Earth, Neuvillette kept a calm demeanor and polite face to the world. He was renowned for his kindness and gentle heart despite the viciousness his duties required of him. He stood high as the personification of justice itself, a proud symbol of everything which needed to be held up high and respected. He was indeed very much respected. Even loved in some special way by the people of Fontaine.

He never realized just how much his soul ached for the presence of another human being by his side, someone who was willing to allow him to just... be himself. Someone who would allow him to drop the mask for a few blissful moments, a person who would tell him that it was okay for him to make a mistake.

Neuvillette never acted on these desires.

That was precisely why he felt so starstruck at the downright violation of his heart.

How could you do this to him? How dare you do this to him? Neuvillette lost count how many times he tried to shoo you off but it was to no avail. It was as if you were glued to him by the hip and he adored every moment of it.

His weeping heart was not ready for the intensity of his emotions.

Sometimes when no one was around, he would shed tears at the thought of you. What were you doing? How was your day? Why did you care so much about him? Were you even aware of the emotional turmoil you caused him? Honestly, he could not even be mad at you.

He loved you too much to ever be angry with you.

Dark grey clouds would hover high above all of Fontaine, the tears of the crying dragon cascading down the world. Neuvillette would sit in his office, alone and scared, with no one to comfort him.

That was his first initial thought at least.

Some people say that there is a rainbow behind every corner and as time passed, the Iudex learned that lesson too. Tiny footsteps would tail behind him like looming shadows, always there but out of reach. Whenever he would turn around there would be no one there and if there ever was he would have to lower his gaze down towards the ground, only to be met with the face of a smiling Melusine. He would have a chat with the sweet creature which always managed to lift his spirits, even for a little bit. The conversations were usually brief but as time went on the tiny Melusines became more... nosey, shall we say.

They would ask the Iudex personal questions which they could have not known about such as who was that person who kept visiting him in his office. What was his affiliation with them. The blush on his pale cheeks always gave him away which always caused the Melusines to giggle but they would say nothing more, always dropping the topic as fast as they brought it up.

Melusines did not understand human nature and its complicated feelings. Neither did Neuvillette, which they knew. That was no reason for them not to try to learn.

One day though, Liath delivered a set of organized documents straight to Neuvillette's desk. He first found this to be odd but the Melusine said nothing, only giving him a mysterious little smile as she waited for the Iudex to see the contents of the things she had brought.

With a delicate touch, Neuvillette took the files in his gloved hands and opened them carefully. His eyes widened in shock as he read everything with utmost care.

Absolutely everything inside was about you.

Your height, weight, age, birth certificate, some little things that were written down by hand such as your hobbies, names of friends and family, places you frequented.

Neuvillette quickly shut the folder, his heart pumping hard and fast as he looked back at Liath.

"This was a joint operation by all of us. We just wished to ease your suffering, Monsieur Neuvillette."

He could feel his throat drying up with each passing moment, any semblance of a potential word which he wanted to say all dying on his tongue.

This was wrong, illegal even.

He still could not help but to feel touched.

He did not reprimand the Melusines for their actions. He was ashamed for relying on such tactics. For the time being though, this could be a surefire way to help him ease his anxieties.

Perhaps he could even woo you a little in the process as well...

No creature was meant to wander the cosmos on their own. Be it a vast sea, a serene forest, bustling town or even the secure solitude of a home, there was always a need for company. Loneliness was an issue many were plagued with and it was sadly far too common than most people realized.

Neuvilette often felt the bitter touch of loneliness whenever he was in his office, the bright sun just shy of peaking behind the soft, velvet fabric of the pristine blue curtain as he went through any documents, all scattered on the heavy table.

At this moment, he was wondering what he ought to do in order to help his beloved.

Some nights ago, his darling little Lumitoile had come to him for a semblance of comfort. The Iudex immediately abandoned his work and stationary, prompting to make a hot cup of tea and serve some sweet cakes as huffs of frustration and confusion soon filled his office. With their arms crossed and a sad pout on their lips, his Lumitoile was left wondering what they ought to do when it came to their longtime friend.

"I just don't understand! Every time I bring up an achievement of sorts, she always either ignores or just brushes me off!"

Neuvilette sat across from his sweetheart, his legs crossed and his posture pitch perfect, as it always was. He took the small cup in his hand and gently placed it on his lips but his gaze never once left his sweetheart.

He was listening. He wanted to hear any possible complaints they had. A part of him wished that this was a happier reunion but Neuvilette was still pleased to know that he was regarded as a pillar of safety. Even if the tea left a slightly bitter taste on his lips, a ghost of a smile still could not help but to form on his cold lips.

"I see... The situation has not improved then. Tell me, how are your friends studies?" asked Neuvilette, hoping to hear at least something positive from this situation. For a while now, you would come to the Iudex for advice on how to handle a friend and the ever growing bitterness which bloomed deep inside your soul. Night after night, you would come into his office with a new complaint, how sick and tired you were of this friend, how you felt unappreciated with her constantly bitter attitude. And Neuvilette, ever the gentle soul, would hear you out with the softest of smiles, which always made you feel so much better.

A tired sigh escaped your lips but the strong ire in your eye was impossible to ignore.

"Whenever I dare to bring up school she... She gets so mad." you said, voice shaking just a little. From the corner of his eye, Neuvilette could see that you had started to grip the fabric of the table cloth with your hand, with a grip so tight that the man was worried you would somehow hurt yourself. With a gulp, he suppressed the urge to place his palm on your own, his heart sinking at the sad sight.

"How dare I ask her how her schoolwork is going? Whenever that topic comes up she is so snippy! Always so agitated, always so angry, constantly bickering how it's not any of my business...!"

Neuvilette scoffed a little. He wondered how you had managed to stay so long in such a friendship. With a sip of tea, you pressed on.

"Or, she just changes the topic all together... Whenever I wish to discuss anything even remotely uncomfortable with her, she just pushes me away or gets mad about it. The way in which she tries so desperately change the topic is just...!"

With a loud thud, you hit the table with the palm of your two hands, the force shaking the wood beneath the two of you. His eyes widened a little as Neuvilette gripped his cup tightly, not anticipating such an action. He watched you from across the table, his gaze laced with sympathy and sadness as he kept his lips shut tight, knowing that you needed someone to be there for you, to hear out your worries and frustrations.

It was wrong to take pride in that. Neuvilette felt horrible at the thought that you were losing someone so obviously precious to you and yet...

... Out of all the people you could turn to, you had come to him. Time and time again, it was Neuvilette you would come to in your hour of need.

That fact became the biggest source of his pride.

The Fontaine Iudex was always such a busy man. It was a sad truth that the nature of human relationships often escaped him and this one was no different. Sometimes he would even put his own feelings into question because deep down he knew that what he was feeling when it came to you simply was not right.

Even so, all of those doubts would be washed away by the tide whenever you would embrace him. His heart would cease to beat whenever he felt the warmth of your body pressed against his own, your tear stained cheeks placed gingerly on his shoulder as you thanked him for being so good, so kind to you.

With a breathless sigh, he would embrace you back, thousands of words on his mind but all would fall flat on his lips.

He was unsure what he could do to help. A selfish part of him wished to see you part with all of your troubles but for now, he was content with being your safe harbor in your dark and stormy nights.
