I can't say anything about it because he'll find out that I like him and I'm not his partner, but I eventually confronted him about her anyway by yelling and screaming at him.

- Thomas blushes super easily

- Brenda loves heavy metal

- newt writes to cope, just about his day and whatnot. (This is sorta canon in crank palace but i think he would continue to write if he lived)

- when Thomas & Minho get drunk together they get up to the most INSANE activities it’s not even funny

- If newt & Brenda are drunk at the same time they bet who is going to get injured first 😭

- minho LOVES Halloween. Absolutely LOVES IT. His costumes are phenomenal every year

- newt is SO GOOD with kids, the kids in the safe haven gravitate towards him and they all love him 100% (uncle newt?!?)

- Thomas on the other hand is like so bad with kids, has absolutely no idea how to talk to them 😔 the kids 100% ask him 2863382 times a day “are you uncle newts boyfriend?! :O” and he has no clue how to respond

- Minho teaches the kids curse words on accident 💀 he would like fall over or something and go “OW FUCK” and they would copy him, newt has scolded him so many times for this

- speaking of Minho and cursing, HE CURSES ALL THE TIME. THE MOUTH ON THAT MAN. It somehow gets worse when he’s drunk

- R.I.P Brenda you would’ve loved thick and crazy eyeliner

- Sonya made matching bracelets for aris and Harriet, aris accepted immediately 😭 Harriet sorta raised a brow but accepted as well but she NEVER takes it off. EVER. Aris on the other hand has lost it so many times, and freaks out every time he does

- Sonya will braid anyone and everyone’s hair. She knows so many hair styles it’s actually ridiculous 💀 she doesn’t remember learning them though. :[ (when she and newt were taken she would brush & braid the other girl’s hair like her mum taught her)

- aris slowly comes out of his shell in the safe haven, and every time he does something “bold” Sonya and Harriet silently cheer for him

- Newt and Sonya got REALLY close in the safe haven, they clicked like instantly and helped each other heal :) “she’s like a sister to me!!” “He’s like a brother to me!!” Is used OFTEN. (Little do they know.. ☹️)

- When Newt is extra pissy his accent is way heavier, and Thomas already being into his accent as is when newts mad at him.. I’ll just give you an example:

Newt *oblivious*: THOMAS WHAT IN THE BLOODY HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!?! YOUR SO DULL SOMETIMES I SWEAR-

Thomas *face hotter then the sun, sweat dripping down his face*: Uhm-

Minho & Gally *with popcorn*: *watching the whole thing go down while holding back tears of laughter*

- newt never practically had a favourite flower, he thought they were all equally beautiful until one day Thomas came home with a sunflower, gave it to him and said “oh this reminded me of you” let’s just say after that day sunflowers were his favourite.

- frypan immediately knew when Thomas and newt first started dating, when he realised he went up to Thomas, patted him on the back and said “so you finally got together huh? Good job man” and walked off leaving Thomas SHOCKED

- if Teresa never betrayed everyone Newt and her would’ve been BFFS. “I remember when you liked Thomas I was so mad” “I was mad at you too!!” “REALLY?!” *whilst making flower crowns*

- Newt loves to read and this is common knowledge, Brenda also loves to read & wears reading glasses and one day newt caught her and she was like “if you tell a soul I’ll kill you. Wanna read together?”

- Newt = ambivert + Thomas = ambivert

- Newt LOVES tea and Minho gives him so much shit for it 😭

- Minho would be the type of guy to carry around a speaker and blast white girl music

- karaoke night once a week or two, Brenda and Minho sing barbie girl ATLEAST ONCE every time

- Thomas is still incredibly smart, like really smart but there is never really opportunity’s to show it ☹️ but like Newt will lead him a 600 page book or something thinking he won’t finish it and like 2 days later Thomas is like “I finished it! — My opinion about The Maze Runner ships —

This post is completely about my personal opinions, if you don’t like it, please just ignore it!

Long post by the way.

Newtmas

Well if you ever checked my blog you should know that Newtmas is my favorite ship. I loved this ship since the first time I watched the movies. There was always some sort of special connection between Thomas and Newt, not this type of “best friends”connection, but lovers connection. The way they were always needing each other, trusting each others words and opinions. Newt was always looking for Thomas, watching him, having his back, and Thomas was always thinking of Newt before anyone else (Example: “Newt and the others”). Considering Newt is confirmed gay, it’s just makes sense if he was in love with Thomas.

Minewt

I always saw them as soulmates, but in a friend way. I see them more as best friends than lovers, but I won’t deny that they also have a super strong connection like Newtmas, and I like reading fanfics of them from time to time. I don’t hate it, and I kind of like it, just not my favorite!

Thominewt

I like this ship, I feel like they complement each other, but I always kind of see the duo in the trio (newtmas), and because of that I can’t fully enjoy the ship.

Thomesa

Im sorry to anyone who likes this ship, but is a huge no for me. I see them more as siblings than lovers due to their type of relationship before Thomas lost his memories. It feels really forced, like Thomas saw Teresa recognized him, and since she was a girl they just assumed they were lovers in the past. Apart from that, Teresa in the books made Thomas suffer a lot of things he didn’t deserve, and she deserved to lose Thomas love.

Trenda

I mean, they are end game in the books, and they have an special connection. They look cute as a couple, but at the same time I see them as best friends or even siblings (in the movies, Brenda says something like “you remind me to my little brother” to Thomas, which kind of confuses me since I don’t think you would see someone you like as your brother) still, I think it’s obviously not a bad ship, and it’s canon.

Thominho

It’s a cute ship for me, their personalities are completely opposite, so I feel like they are a good match. I don’t have a lot to say to this ship, it’s not my favorite, but I like it and the quotes they have in the book are actually appealing.

Thominally

For some reason, I really like this ship. I don’t have any explanation to it, I read things of them and I just like it. It’s a weird ship? To me, yes. I like it? Absolutely. But, I don’t like Thomally, I just like the ship if Minho is in it too.

Minally

Yes. Absolutely. Totally. I love them.

Nalby

For me, Newt was totally in love with Alby before Thomas arrival (and well maybe Albys death yk). Fanfics of them before Thomas arrival in the glade i find them cute and entertaining. After Thomas arrival I just don’t see it anymore.

Brenderesa

If we are talking about canon-compliant, it’s an absolute nonsense. They hated each other and there’s no possible way they would have actually liked each other if Teresa somehow survived. But if we are not talking about canon-compliant, I totally love it.

Sonya/Harriet

They were utterly in love, nothing more to add.

Minho/Brenda

Well, they kind of have similar personalities, yes I kinda see it.

Minho/Ben

I don’t dislike it, I just think that we had little to nothing about Ben, and I don’t really know where we get the ship from. Apart from that, I saw it in a couple of fanfics and yes I like it when it’s like a secondary couple.

there are a number of things that thomas is grateful for in the safe haven. safety is one of them; good food is another. alcohol is certainly up there too - adults here know how to make it better than whatever the hell gally makes, and the honey wine tastes sticky sweet on thomas’ lips as he takes a long gulp, feeling it warm and pool in his gut.

he’s thankful for lots of things, but none of them compare to how thankful he is for his lover.

two pairs of honeyed laughter ring out across the beach; newt and sonya sit together, heads bowed, arms linked as they lean against a bench on the sand, tucked into a blanket. the more thomas looks at them, the more he can’t believe they didn’t notice it before.

newt has a sister, and in some weird way, so does he. teresa flops in the sand beside him, grinning wildly, hair untamed and lips kissed pink. “i still can’t brenda at cards,” she tells him, stealing a sip of his wine. “so i thought i would come save you from your lovesick stares. and your worrying.” her eyes, a bright cerulean, flit down to his pocket. “got the ring?”

thomas grins. “nah.” he points to newt across the beach, and a copper band glints prettily on his finger from across the fire, green sea glass hammered in. “he found it last night, the bastard. all but put it on himself.”

teresa squeals, her own silver band glimmering boldly, a tigers eye stone matching the colour of brenda’s eyes. “to be fair, i doubt he’d let you get down on one knee.” she kisses his cheek. “congratulations,” she murmurs. “let me walk you up the aisle, it’ll be hilarious.” she pats his knee, and then she’s off to pester her wife.

thomas hums, watching her, another thing he’s grateful for, and -

newt’s not next to sonya anymore.

he smiles before he feels the sand shift beside him. he lifts his arm immediately, and newt snuggles into him immediately. “sonya told me to tell you that she’s not pleased you didn’t ask her for my hand. she says she wants my virtue protected.”

thomas snorts. “virtue, huh? sure, yours is definitely still there.” he kisses the unruly tangle of blonde hair, breathing in newt’s eucalyptus and sea salt soap. he’s never been more grateful for anything in his life - newt alive and breathing and so in love with him. if newt was alive and hated him, thomas would still be saturated with relief and gratitude. newt deserves everything. thomas intends to give him everything. there’s a flush to newt’s cheeks, a content glance in his eyes, an honesty in his smile that’s appeared through the wearing of his defences. thomas worked harder to get to newt than he did to get inside the last city, and his victory tastes sweet as he tips his head down to capture newt’s mouth in his.

thomas thinks often about gratitude. he remembers weeping his thanks to imaginary gods when the blackness creeped away from his fiancé’s eyes to reveal eyes the colour of their morning coffee. he remembers gasping relief when teresa was pulled up into the berg with him, out of the fire and into brenda’s arms. he remembers tasting newt for the first time, new and timeless all at once as they kissed.

when they pull away, newt hums once. “shall we go to bed?” he asks, tone saturated with mischief.

oh, how they love.

“go on then,” thomas murmurs back, beaming. “i love you,” he whispers.

he’s grateful for a lot of things. but newt led him here. he’ll always be the most grateful for him.

while i do believe that the meat industry is fucked, i don't see anything wrong w supporting local farmers/butchers whenever possible instead. i have no issues w vegans, but ultimately my stance is less rooted in "animals are intelligent and eating them is evil" and moreso "capitalism-driven meat industry leads to abuse and pollution on a massive scale and needs to be better regulated"
