Also the AfterDeath doodle is in fact also apart of the Steven Universe x UTAU/UTMV MAU, Gem!Geno and Obisidon!Reaper.... and heh... both are girlies (this is a LIEEEE they both transition after Geno turns into Error and then it becomes Doomed yaoi DestructiveDeath and DigitalArt(ErrorInk))

Also i now have like 3 Yanberrys, Revenge!Yanberry, SOPV!Yanberry, and now a ErrorYanberry... WHYYYYYY (Yanberry is my guilty favorite guys IM SO SORRY.(+ My friend gave me this idea AUGHGUHG))

What is it like being a fusion? How did they find out they could fuse?

THIS IS A GREAT QUESTION !! I like ya style anon. Long post ahead !

To begin a small lil explanation :

A soul fusion, leads to a fusion which is natural but how exactly does it lead to one ?

It’s in which the soul or a being’s essence “merge” and become one. The soul or essence itself is more or less unstable depending on the state of the soul. For example, out of the four Dream is the most stable.

Error and Ink are both very unstable, which leads to them being unstable together and quite destructive.

What’s it like being a fusion ?

It greatly differs from monster to monster, but in general it begins with panic on the one that is introduced to it.

For Dream : Dream and Nightmare had the habit to fuse for various reasons, but Dream couldn’t soul-fuse with Nightmare the Corruption Day. He greatly misses fusing with the other.

Dream as such view fusion as a positive thing, and a way to explore relationships and more further in with the people he cares about.

For Ink : Ink first fused with Error, as Meddle ! It was an absolute mess but Ink had a lot of fun with his new discovery.

Ink views fusions as something new and fun, but wonders what exactly led to it. It makes him feel full again at time, like he had a soul. Even if he prefers not to have one, Ink likes the feeling.

For Error : Error first fused with Ink as stated above, it was absolute panic. A loss of control, and of self in the pool of fusion.

He dislikes not being the more present in control when fusing, often fighting for it. Ink and him came to an agreement, but still !

Error views fusions as something that only serves for its use. ( he’s a little hypocrite though, don’t count too much on his opinion.. )

And for Nightmare : Nightmare is used to soul-fusing, due to his past experience with Dream.

He has a complicated relationship with them, wanting and finding it advantageous to, but having failed the first time he tried against post corruption.

Nightmare feels bitter towards fusion.

How did they find out they could fuse ?

As explained above, Nightmare and Dream fused back then ! It’s a thing that made them unique.

As for Ink and Error, it was due to a fight.

Knightlight, fusion of Cross and Dream, and Raster, fusion of Ink and Error. It was really interesting, combining their designs to make one character.

Having a SIGNIFICANTLY better time! also i had to go scroll though my blog because I couldn't remember if I talked about Lucidity and his evil gay polycule here yet. I thought i did but i wasn't sure. and then they made me make and eat dinner

anyways perceive him again. look at him. ooo ahhh pretty man

No longer looks like a hobo. Probably helps that he's actively taking care of himself.

Uses Dream's signature weapon still

Actually quite likes himself, but also takes himself way too seriously sometimes

disrespect can result in anger or just a moment of utter confusion. what do you MEAN you don’t respect me?? (Nightshade is the only exception. but only because he knows Nightshade is doing it because he loves him)

Quite spiffy, I must say. Actually bothers to look presentable. Probably amenable to letting Nightshade pick out clothes for him, SOMETIMES. Not every day. Not every day Nightshade. put those away.

probably still wears stuff Nightshade got for him on a semi-regular basis, whether Nightshade says something or not

also since he doesn't absolutely despise the two that fused to become Him, he has no issues with looking like either of them. Some days he dresses more like on than the other.

Switches between Ani's charm and Obsidian's iconic necklace. Would wear both at once, but isn't sure how to do that without it looking weird.

Still kind of emotionally constipated. Nightshade’s gonna bully him (lovingly)

May or may not still have particular affection towards Jasper. If yes, I am fascinated by the implications. Also that probably means whatever is going on with Entropy and his version of Jasper is probably much deeper and possibly more concerning than it looks.

It's notably easier for him to come to a balance that lets him summon storms. he's totally normal about that. nightshade is also very normal about it.

some of the bits at the end i'm pretty sure hasn't been shared in the discord server yet. so. oopsies? there was another thing i was going to add to it, too, but i don't remember what it was now...oh well.

Atrophy is more affectionate than Shale, but has a harder time opening up than Lucidity. So he's like. moderately emotionally constipated

Also, Shale is very violent and rough, whereas Lucidity is generally more gently and chill. This makes for a very interesting combination when he’s doing stuff like, oh, spending time with Nightshade, trying to get Nightmare to stay in the manor with them…that sort of thing. Fighting’s more or less the only exception.

While he’s generally chill about the fusion thing, he still would like to un-fuse. But it’s more of a “Hm. Things were more fun when there were three of us.” Thing that absolutely despising both ‘halves’ of himself, and by extension his entire existence. Having said that, Lucidity and Shale would probably be amenable to fusing again; especially with how powerful they were

In regards to Nightmare, Atrophy is generally a lying bastard. Some of his promises he does somewhat intend on keeping. He promises to make sure no one will ever hurt him again, and that, if he can manage to unfuse, Nightmare and Lucidity can stay together prettty much forever. He promises that they’ll all make sure Nightmare never wants for anything again, never has to be on the run again, so on.

The thing is, Atrophy’s idea of hurting Nightmare, in this context, is only physical harm.

Mental/emotional harm by manipulation? Nahhh that’s not real (he knows it's real. But he’s pretending it isn’t, around Nightmare). Subtly/gently coercing Nightmare into doing something he doesn’t actually want to do? Well if he really didn’t want to do it, he wouldn’t have said yes at all <33

He’s way too good at getting most of the desired reactions out of Nightmare, which is a combination of Shale being a manipulative little bastard and Lucidity having known Nightmare their whole lives. He would also let Nightshade gently push Nightmare into doing something

Fortunately (?) for Nightmare, part of the reason Atrophy’s trying to get Nightmare to say yes instead of just going ahead and doing things is because of how often Shale avoids doing certain things because Lucidity would be upset. Particularly in regards to Nightmare.

“Having some fun” with Lucidity’s childhood friend was never worth losing his boyfriend such a useful ally

Unfortunately, Shale’s influence is why Atrophy is pushing in the first place

Nightmare keeps freezing up instead of running when Atrophy tries to get him to stay at the manor. Cross and Error are slowly becoming Nightmare’s only reason for staying away; even if they’re not right there.

It still got steadily worse as Atrophy managed to get Nightmare alone more and more, but that also meant it was becoming increasingly clear to Nightmare that Atrophy did not like Cross and Error. At all. Like. Nightmare is genuinely afraid for their lives.

If he ever does start to cave, he’s going to make Atrophy do a few things for him before he comes to the manor.

Nightmare knows there’s several people in the manor who can’t leave, because Shale (and presently Atrophy) won’t let them. Nightmare needs to be able to leave when he wants, for whatever reason.

In no way can Atrophy be a reason why Cross and Error get hurt. He can’t hurt them himself, he can’t get someone else to do it, he can’t lure them into danger or danger to them, or anything else. Not intentionally, not as a ‘suggestion’, not a ‘ohhh nightmare said I can’t hurt Cross and Error. Be a shame if something still happened to them wink’. Nightmare tries to cover as many possible loopholes as he can, but he’s afraid he’s still missing some.

Atrophy has to prove to Nightmare that he can be trusted. which is going to be quite difficult. Especially since he’s hesitating to agree to Nightmare’s terms now that Nightmare told him to prove he can be trusted :3

Champ is SO confused for a while. who is this??? Why does he smell like Lucidity but also Shale but also not quite either??? What is going on where's his human*

Atrophy is just as affectionate with Champ as Lucidity was, which most of the rest of the manor is quietly snickering about. what was that about not liking the loud husky, Shale?

Also, since Atrophy's status as a fusion means that, technically, Lucidity and Shale do not exist while he is here, he kinda misses them. Which is a really weird feeling. He is them, but he also feels like some of the people he loves are Missing.

he expresses this to Nightshade, who bites his lip and goes "i wasn't going to say anything, but. same. it's a shame I can't have you and dream and obsidian at the same time." and then does an over-dramatic sigh

Fatal Error_Dream sans

Once a guardian of hope, Dream Sans was the shining beacon for fractured timelines — tirelessly working to mend broken universes and inspire peace. But something changed.

A virus had begun spreading across the multiverse — not a typical one, but a living, evolving code that devoured positivity and twisted the very structure of timelines. This virus, later known to some as Fatal Error, had already consumed countless AUs, leaving behind glitchy husks of reality. Dream, obsessed with saving the infected worlds, refused to retreat when warned.

The Fall: Dream traced the corruption to an unstable, decaying node in the multiverse: a forgotten AU sealed in chaos. But what he found wasn’t just decay — it was a trap, set not by Nightmare, nor Error... but a convergence of both. A fusion glitch — a piece of Nightmare's influence riding on the corrupted code from Fatal Error, meant for Error to feed on but misdirected by Nightmare’s spite.

Dream was dragged into the Flower Void, a hidden sub-layer beneath the collapsing timelines. An infinite chasm of golden flower sprites, coated in translucent glitch-code, forming a glass-like terrain beneath him. He was meant to die there — forgotten.

But Dream did not die. His soul, bombarded by corrupted code and Nightmarish influence, began to fracture. His positivity, once pure, began to distort — not vanish, but mutate. The constant exposure to the glitch-code caused Dream to errorify, forming a broken hybrid of hope and chaos.

The Transformation:

His bow now draws glitch-powered arrows spun from corrupted strings of hope — capable of binding enemies like puppets.

His thoughts are no longer solely his own; he hallucinates Nightmare whispering to him in his sleep, when his guard is down, or when emotion runs high.

His once calm expression now flickers — like his body — between joy, dread, and emptiness.

He is haunted by memories of himself and Error — though neither side claims him now. He is Fatal Dream, a new anomaly.

Now: He roams the Flower Void — perhaps not by choice, but by instinct — glitching in and out of collapsed AUs, searching for stability, or perhaps redemption. He is neither savior nor destroyer. He is a corrupted remnant of hope, holding the power to save or obliterate what remains.

Meet the fusion !!!! I plan on trying to explain their story and such through drawing. Don’t hesitate to ask question to em !

The basis is that only a few in the multiverse have the ability to soul-fuse, and Cross is not one of them. But thanks to Dream, he can !

Ramble under cut —

Meddle stems from an old concept I’ve had, of an error and ink fusion. That didn’t change, but the idea around it did.

In total only four Sanses can soul-fuse and make other soul-fuse,

Ink, Error, Dream and Nightmare.

The reason as to why is not really figured out yet, but it is here !

Star-Cross and Meddle both have individual traits and semblance of personality, but are nothing more than vessel for the recipient.

Star is called “The Ambitious”, and Meddle “The Perfectionist” due to their greatest characteristic as a fusion. Each fusion has their own title.

As a last note, any fusion with current Nightmare are highly unstable and dangerous due to the corruption.

Explaining Sans AUs to someone outside of the fandom is so funny because it's like:

Classic, Dust, Killer, Sci, S-1, Geno, Horror, and more are all the same person technically just from different timelines.

Geno turned into Error so he is technically also all of those people from a different timeline.

Error came across Geno, an alternate version of the guy who turned into Error, and tried to destroy him, creating Fatal Error. This means an alternate timeline of Aftertale tried to destroy Aftertale, leading to the creation of an alternate timeline of Aftertale.

Swap, Fell, Outer, Storyshift Sans, Altertale Sans, and a bunch of others aren't Sans, as in, they are not any variation of the original Sans but are the "Sans" of their respective universes.

All of the characters I just mentioned have AUs and ATs of themselves, leading to there being distinctions between the different versions of THOSE Sanses.

Ink, Cross, and others I can't think of do technically fit the bill of the previous categories minus the fact that the universes they are the "Sans" of cannot exist on it's lonesome and requires direct contact with the fandom (Creators) and the multiverse to exist.

Dream, Nightmare, Fresh, any and all "Sanses" that only resemble Classic in appearance? Yeah, they're not Sanses. I mean, we call them Sanses but they're not. Dream and Nightmare are literally just balls of energy contained within forms that only resemble Sanses due to their mother needing to make them that way. And Fresh is just a soul-eating parasite that takes Skeleton monsters as hosts because they have easy access points. Any "Sans" that's meant to just resemble a character concept the creator had and just so happened to call it a Undertale AU? Those fit the bill too.

And for the love of GOD don't get me started on the concept of shipkids and fusions and all that nonsense because once I'm done explaining everything prior to you you're already going to be having a stroke, and I don't need to pile the selfcest on there too.

“Easy there, touch guy. Have some coffee with your sugar.” Derek teased as he walked into the kitchen area, Spencer was standing not facing him pouring an extensive amount of sugar into his coffee.

“I need something to wake me up.” The younger boy mumbled.

“Late night?” “Very.” 

Derek, taking that comment the wrong way, said, “My man.” He then suddenly remembered his little sister calling him last night saying she was going over to the young Dr. Reid’s home. “Hold up- weren’t you with my sister last night?”  

“Wasn’t that kind of late night.” This response put Morgan at ease to continue his teasing remarks, “Okay, so tell me, what does keep young Dr. Reid awake at night?”

The older man started walking, patting Spencer on the shoulder just as the young man was taking a sip of his sugar-coffee concoction, “Wait, let me guess. Memorising some obscure textbook?” Spencer finaling turned to face the man, an unamused look present on his face as Derek continued, “No, no, no. Working on cold fusion. No, my baby sister was there.. I got it, I got it. Watching Star Trek and laughing at the physics mistakes.”

Spencer shook his head slightly, “Actually there aren’t that many scientific errors in Star Trek. Especially considering how long ago it was made. There are certain improbabilities, but not that many outright errors.” Derek, in a state of disbelief and not knowing what to say, responded with, “Right.” Before leaving Spencer alone in the kitchenette and making his way to his desk. Only Y/n was there at her own desk, doing her paperwork. She looked up to see the two walking somewhat towards her.

“I don’t know what you see in him.” Derek mumbles sitting down in his chair, but before he could Elle comes walking through the bullpen saying, “Hey, Hotch wants everyone at the round table.”

Y/n immediately made her way to follow Elle, saying to Derek, “How can you not?” as she walked away and before Derek could leave too, Spencer asked him about what was really keeping him up. The nightmares. Derek always seemed to be that person Spencer could lean on, they were family at this point. You have to be to do a job like theirs.

The team got to the crime scene site, Spencer was poking around when he noticed wax on the scene.

"Candle wax?" JJ asked, confused, Spencer only replied with, “Candles are used in rituals.” 

“Also used on birthday cakes.” Gideon was adamant that this was not a ritual killing, Y/n did agree but wasn’t turning down the idea all together. 

But what Gideon said seemed to hit a knowledge nerve on Spencer as he went into one of his usual info-dumping sessions, “Actually, they were originally used to protect the birthday celebrant from demons for the coming year.” Spencer let out a smug-sounding chuckle that made Y/n need to hide her smile behind her hand, “As a matter of fact, down to the fourth century, Christianity rejected the birthday celebration as a pagan ritual.” He ended with his usual smile, the one that always made Y/n want to give him a hug.

Though, everyone else looked at him like he was insane for just knowing that off the top of his head. The sheriff that was on the scene with them asked, “What kind of doctor are you?” And that was when Y/n had to let her laugh go, seeing the look on Spencer’s face.
