I feel like I haven’t written a lot but I do love thinking about Nina and all her interests. She collects every little scrap of paper from train tickets to gum wrappers to save in her journal. She collects old post cards and has stacks and stacks of books around the flat. She’s not good at drawing but loves to leave Johnny little doodles. She has soooo many CDs. She likes carrying a big tote style bag to hold all her stuff. She writes poetry and has been published in several small literary magazines. She still cuts her own hair. She prefers barrettes and clips to scrunchies. She goes to the range with Johnny to stay in practice with her shooting. She’d rather be her own doctor than go to see a real one. She loves pastels and spring. She likes romantic and horror movies. She always keeps a candy bar and a pack of crisps in her bag. Her best friend is Gaz’s sister. She loves getting her nails done but has like 5 make up products. She’s picked up part of Johnny’s accent and it’s clear when she says any word with a long ‘O’ sound. She’ll never admit how much she loves it.

just gonna leave this here (an excerpt from chapter 2 of my wip ft. Jesper’s feelings and Nina and Inej being worried and also a little done with him)

“Is this an intervention?”

Nina and Inej exchanged a glance. “Not exactly,” Inej said finally. “We’re just worried.”

Jesper groaned and sunk lower into the couch. “This is an intervention.” This time, Inej said nothing. “Y’know, I thought I was done with these after rehab.”

“Making jokes about your addiction won’t make us pity you and stop,” Nina interjected. “Inej is right, we’re worried.”

“You have no reason to be.” When Nina snorted and Inej raised an eyebrow, his pout intensified. “I’m serious! I have a job, I’m not behind on any bills, I’m paying off my debts, I’m fine!”

“Mhm. When was the last time you left your house of your own accord?”

“I went out to get groceries earlier today,” Jesper said. He prayed that for once in his life, Kaz hadn’t talked to Inej.

“Kaz had to literally drag you out of the door,” countered Inej. “Try again.”

“I went to get drinks with my coworkers three days ago.”

“Because one of your coworkers needed a ride and you felt bad.”

“Matthias’s birthday party?”

Nina snorted again. “I threatened to gut you if you didn’t show up.”

“I-”

“Jesper.” Inej looked at him intensely. He squirmed. “Do you know when the last time you invited me to go somewhere was?” He didn’t say anything. He knew it had been a long time. “Six months ago. How long has it been since your breakup?”

Five months, three weeks, and two days. He shrugged.

“Don’t pretend you don’t know the exact number of days,” Nina said. Jesper grumbled.

“About six months,” he answered begrudgingly. “But that doesn’t mean anything!”

“Like hell it doesn’t,” Nina shot back. “You used to pester us at least once a week and now it’s been six months. If you think that isn’t concerning you’re lying to yourself. You’ve spent six months wallowing, and we let you, but now it’s time for an intervention.”

“I’m just processing,” argued Jesper.

“Wallowing.”

“Okay,” Inej interrupted, cutting off Jesper's protest. “Not the point. Wallowing or processing, it doesn’t matter. It’s still been a while, and we want to help you.”

“How do you plan to do that? By ambushing me at my house and pestering me about why I’m not fixed yet? It was a long, committed relationship, forgive me for not waking up the next morning ready to fuck the next person I see,” he snapped. It was harsh and unfair and he’d feel awful about it soon enough, but he didn’t really care. Inej and Nina had seen him at his absolute worst, what was another tantrum?

His outburst was met with silence. They both knew he didn’t mean any of it- that he got defensive and moody when confronted, said things he didn’t mean because they were the first things to pop into his head and his impulse control was shot. Sure enough, the guilt started seeping in, a nasty feeling in his chest that made him slump back against the couch.

“I’m sorry,” he said. Inej raised an eyebrow, and he sighed. “That wasn’t fair. I know you’re trying to help. I know I’m being an asshole. Thank you for trying to help.”

hiii no i love to talk about my projects <3 i’ll put it under the cut though bc of pictures

so the main exam is to make a festdrakt. which is a non-traditional variant of the bunad, norway’s traditional costume dress thingy. they look like this

BUT we also have to change the pattern/have some designer element to it. so i made the top and skirt two different pieces. the skirt is nothing special, just a dark green fabric with some leaves on it, and a belt in the same fabric as the top.

but the top is where i made all the changes :) i closed it in the front, added boning, and then you tie it in the back. not really a corset, more like a vest with structure. and then, instead of making a shirt, i just attached the sleeves to the vest. i wanted to make it look like the arms were coming out of the vest (if that makes any sense lmao) but wasn’t sure how i was gonna pull it off. i think i did a pretty good job though 🥲 i actually finished it just now! i might bedazzle it with something later and probably add two more eyelets but the main thing is done at least

it fits me perfectly even though it’s a bit big on the mannequin. the trickiest part was adjusting the pattern lmao, had to add another dart and everything.

the bias tape (around the vest and also under the sleeves, if you zoom in) is all stitched by hand 🥲 and the fabric i used on the sleeves is 100% silk, which i didn’t know when i bought it kgjdhsjsj. most difficicult piece of fabric i’ve ever worked with, but hey, it looks good

anyway! yay. thank you for giving me an excuse to ramble. i don’t have a good picture of the skirt since the belt isn’t done yet but you can kind of see it on the table behind the mannequin gkdjshh

EDIT omg i forgot to mention that the main criteria for this project was that we need to use 75% recycled materials. so the silk fabric is new, but the rest of the fabric used on the vest is made from some curtains my neighbour gave to me <3 and then the skirt is actually taken from another old festdrakt, lol

figuring out the different ways Nina dresses in Don't Blame Me, Carnal and Guest Check is so much fun.

Carnal Nina mostly wears her mum's clothes so its alot of nineties stuff, dresses with long sleeves under or jumpers over it, no jewelry, boots, starts to steal Johnny and Simon's clothes so she always looks perpetually drowning in her clothes, little to no makeup

Don't Blame Me Nina is the most feminine dressing. Lots of color with skirts and poofy tops, bows, jewelry, Scandinavian Ganni style, gets most of her inspo from pintrest and tik tok, loves pink and baby blue, likes blush and lip gloss and shimmery eye shadow

Guest Check Nina is always wearing some sort of black, perfers a short skirt, cropped top when not working, when she's working just tries to blend in but is kind of preppy outside of it, has the most designer out of the three but she's got that dead family money, she still buys most second hand from online. Has too many clothes (shopping addiction go brrr). dark eyeliner, mascara and tinted lip balm, lots of perfume though
