Basically the gist of this Au is what if Trish became the beast instead of John.

Yes. it's completely unrealistic within the lore and cringe as all hell but god dammit let me have fun.

The lore of it is basically, Trish has the conduit gene and didnt get affected by the blast (don't question it, it's a WIP au). and dies like usual:P (this will be important for later).

After that nothing really major happens, But the lore pretty much gets thrown out the window at “end of the road”.

Instead of dying thanks to the ray sphere exploding, John got sniped by a first son member and now he's dead. Cole panicked, breaks the container picks up the ray spheres and just runs, Because he's hunted by the dust men now and the first sons

So eventually he reaches the burial grounds and in a fit of panic throws the damn thing near Trishs grave and gives it the good 'ol Lighting Storm treatment. And now the burial grounds are just a crater.

So Cole felt like the biggest asshole and feels bad about himself and Kessler gives him his usual "im so dissapointed in you speech.” Like the cunt he is.

The Truth and prolog cutscene plays pretty much the same, and the Aftershock storyline (The dc comics if you are wondering, i just gave it a title so it's easier to recognise) is also the same but now Cole is just in a crater with him and Trish's wedding photo, and that's about it.

Now here comes the fun part>:D

infamous starts out with the usual intro, but now when the beast appears. It looks somewhat different compared to Kesslers vision. Slimmer body and now it has hair which is on fire

Coles get folded like a omelette and drank like another omelette (Lynthero reference) like usual, empire city gets exploded and the rest of inFAMOUS 2 happens

Then "The Face of Change" happens. This is where the fun and agsnt begins>:)

After the last ship gets sinked the usual flash of red light happens and Cole is nearly thrown to his knees. Looking up he is flabbergasted to see Trish standing before him, seemingly back from the dead.

(this is where i would post her beast human design, but it's still a wip:P)

.And now Cole almost breaks down crying cuz now his girlfriend is now alive:D

But because we cant be happy, Trish still has the John plan of total human genocide to save conduits. but tries to be more reasonable, cuz it's her boyfriend who he is talking to.

Now here comes the karma path ending choices

The good karma ending:So pretty much explaining that "hey so my gf is back from the dead and tries to eradicate us." to the gang, lore almost plays the exact same, Nix and Kuo switch sides and tries to nuke TrishBeast

but it fails, like usual.

And after Cole activates the rfi and gets juiced up, he does the usual final boss fight with her (with a ton of tears cuz suckerpunch sure does love agnst). And after she is brought on her knees Cole just, talks to her pretty much saying,

“You were my everything.”

And then activating the RFI.

The evil karma ending:pretty much the same but Evil Cole is doing a “Me when a bad bitch is tells me to do something.” And lore changes directly at the end, after Zeke gets no-scoped (rip) Trish comforts Cole (Yes she still is in the giant beast form) and goes.

“You look lonely, i can fix that.”

And gives her powers to Cole

HOWEVER

She pulls a Sasha and talks to him in his mind telling Cole that he made the right choice in the end.

Now Mr. and Ms. Macgrath will be forever together.

Anyways that was the gist of it.

(Remember that this is still a WIP Au, so there will probably be more lore changes, I still don't have a design for Beast!Trish yet)

Sienna’s brow was furrowed as she watched Casey close her suitcase. 

“You’re sure you’re OK with this?” she asked.

“Yes, Sienna. For the third time, I’m fine. Tobias got a suite so we can each have our own room, and… I trust him.  He’s done nothing but help me since… well… you know.”

Sienna plopped on the bed with a sigh. “I guess if you’re OK with this, then suppose I should be as well.”

“You think?” Aurora asked from the doorway. “Si, I understand being worried. But this is a good thing!” She turned to Casey with an approving grin. “I mean, look at you! Going away for a couple days – you’ve come so far, and I’m proud of you. Plus, I know you’re in good hands with T. Uh, I mean, not that you will be in his hands.  Unless you want to be, and no judgment from me if you do, that’s just not what I meant.”

“I know what you meant,” Casey smiled.  “And you’re right. I will be in good hands.  He… he really cares about me, and he’s proven that.”

“I have to admit, he has.” Sienna conceded, “But I’m still making it clear that he better treat you well before you leave. If anything goes wrong, I will hold him accountable.”

“Don’t worry, Sienna,” Casey laughed. “Neither of us would expect anything less.”

The doorbell rang and Casey immediately grabbed her coat and hat. Flushed with excitement, she had to admit, this was the first time she had looked forward to something since the attack, and it felt good.

“Hey!” Tobias lit up the moment he saw her, taking the wattage down when he saw Sienna looking on sternly from behind. “Good to see you, too, Si.” he winked. He went to pick up Casey's sole suitcase and turned to her with astonishment.

“One bag? That’s it?”

“Yeah,” she shrugged. “It’s just a few days... unless you’re planning on kidnapping me?”

“Nah, I’ll have you back right on time. But you have to understand, I grew up with a mom that packed four bags for a weekender. So forgive me if I find this remarkable.”

“Four bags for a weekend?” Casey gasped.

“Yeah, she’s a bit high maintenance. If you ever meet her, you’ll understand.”

“What do you mean?” Aurora teased. “You’re not introducing her while you’re in DC?”

“Are you freaking kidding me?” Tobias shot back. “I love my Ma, but she can be... a lot. Besides, she’d probably be working on an engagement invitation within an hour. No way would she believe we’re just friends.”

A soft blush settled on Casey’s cheeks, but her friends wouldn’t let this opportunity pass.

“Yeah,” Jackie yelled from the couch. “Most of us call bullshit on that one.”

“Jackie!” Casey reprimanded, but Aurora supportively tapped her friend's shoulder.

“Ignore her. You two should get going; if you leave now, you’ll avoid rush hour traffic.”

“That’s the plan,” Tobias said, lifting Casey's bag. “All set, MacTavish?”

“All set!”

“Then let’s go! Your chariot awaits!”

The decision to fly was nixed in favor of driving. They both loved road trips, and neither regretted the choice. The ride was punctuated with pleasant conversations, Christmas music, a couple of stops to partake in local delicacies, and even an impromptu snowball fight at a rest stop in Maryland.  When they arrived at their suite, they were so tuckered out there was little more to do than wash up and head to bed.  After all, they had a big day waiting for them.

They were up bright and early to enjoy the Willard InterContinental’s breakfast buffet.  Casey eyed the opulent surroundings and nervously looked over her attire. This definitely wasn’t the Holiday Inns she was used to, and she felt a little out of her league.  But her trepidation melted away when Tobias returned to the table, his plate stacked with food.

“Trying to get a lot of sustenance in,” she laughed.

“You better believe it! I have quite an itinerary planned. We’re walking the Mall. I have a checklist of all the museums we want to see. I need fuel. Are you sure you had enough?”

“I’ve had plenty,” she rubbed her stomach with delight. “And it was delicious.”

Sitting back in her chair, she watched Tobias scoff down his food, but he noticed immediately when a bit of discomfort encroached upon her happy mood.

“Penny for your thoughts?”

“I just… this place and all, it’s a little more than I’m used to. I feel like I’m out of my element. And it had to cost a fortune. I don’t like that you had to take on such an expense.”

With a tender expression, he instinctively reached over and placed his hand atop hers, then flinched when he realized he may have crossed a line. He gave a squeeze, then quickly retreated.

“This is as much for me as it is for you.  It’s been a long time since I treated myself, and it’s been a long time since I gave a damn about the holidays at all. So let’s just enjoy it.”

“I’ll try.”

“Come on,” he said, scooping the last bite of food from his dish. “Let’s get going. We have a long day ahead.”

He gave Casey a full tour around the city, only to learn that she had been there several times before, though never during this time of year.  As a history buff, she spent an inordinate amount of time at each monument, and Tobias did his best to ignore that he was freezing. After all, the look of delight on her face was worth a tiny bit of frostbite. He soon figured out how to work museum stops to allow a chance to defrost, but that was all undone when they reached Capitol Hill. There was enough snow on the ground to partake in a sleigh ride, and neither was about to pass up on that opportunity. Throughout the day, they had seen just about every Christmas tree in town, but as night fell, they approached the Capitol tree, the most impressive of them all.

“So, what do you think?” He asked boastfully.

“I mean, it’s nice,” Casey half-shrugged. “Very nice, even.”

“But?”

“You’ll see when we get to Philly,” she grinned. “You’ll see.”

“Wow! You’re a tough customer. Are you saying today hasn’t been magical?”

“I said no such thing!” She smiled, her face lit up by a million little lights twinkling on the tree, Tobias was sure this was the most magical moment of all.

“It’s been amazing.  But let’s see what tomorrow holds.”

Based largely on personal interpretation as well as original headcanons. Following a post-flood timeline. Assume divergency & artistic liberties. This interpretation operates under the combined universes of Reeves' and Phillips' films, which is to say that every interaction is explored with the assumption that it's based in the real world. Furthermore, this Bruce's world lacks powers and abilities the way that most Batman iterations and DC worlds revolve around. I'm open to writing with characters with supernatural abilities or superpowers, but those interactions will not exist within Bruce's primary arc.

i recognize arthur fleck as bruce's canon older brother and true heir to the wayne fortune. joker and the batman are intrinsically connected; one often cannot be found without the other far behind. both are unhealthily obsessive and possessive over each other and any threats to joker OR arthur are subject to the batman AND bruce's ire. do not make the mistake of using joker against the batman; or, if you do, be prepared for the consequences. i'm very attached to abigail and jessie's portrayals and when arthur or his wife nix are referenced in threads or headcanon posts, theirs are the ones i'm talking about.

my bruce is very mentally ill. in the aftermath of the floods and bruce's revelation regarding the very deep well of criminal connections and corruption in relation to the wayne family, he's going through a very huge identity crisis. who is bruce wayne? how does he fit into gotham? can he and the batman fit together? what does this mean for wayne enterprises? these are ongoing struggles for bruce right now.

this interpretation is a younger bruce wayne, a still relatively new batman and detective, and as such the wayne estate is in a sort of limbo right now. this bruce is not the playboy billionaire businessman that most are familiar with. right now he wants nothing to do with his family name and is very much rejecting the idea that he can do much as bruce; he is far more attached to the batman and what that can do for gotham (and himself).

On the complexity of "family"

And whether Steph is part of the batfam.

For the sake of fairness, this will be a normative discussion – meaning I'll talk about the value of the idea itself and not provide comics references since (a) not everyone has/will read the same things, and (b) canon is always open to interpretation and this is not a literary analysis.

So starting at the beginning:

Etymology

Since we're based in the American context (both where DC is from and where fictional Gotham is located) we'll only be talking about English as the primary language. The first known use of the word "family" was in the 16th century to mean "a group of individuals living under one roof and usually under one head." (The Latin word from which the English derived included house servants in this definition.) Over time, the primary definition became "the basic unit in society traditionally consisting of two parents rearing their children [and/or] any of various social units differing from but regarded as equivalent to the traditional family." Another alternative definition is "a group of people united by certain convictions or a common affiliation."¹

The Family Unit

Family structures have varied over time in accordance with socioeconomic needs and cultural values. In the United States, the concept of the nuclear family (two parents and their children) was only popularized in the 1950s (i.e. post WWII) out of a desire for stability and due to economic prosperity.²

Still, even in the mid 20th century this was not the only family type, with extended families (i.e. those including kin outside of the parent-child dynamic) playing a role in childrearing, single parents, and blended families (i.e. the children living together may not share one or both parents). Today, these alternate family types are not only accepted but common. In fact, single parent households are on the rise, and in 2015, 16% of kids live in blended families.³

So...is Steph part of the Batfam?

It depends. Taking the word "family" in only its most literal sense (see the blue definition) then no. She is not regarded as one of Bruce's children. But under either of the other definitions (red and pink) she could be. When she lives with Barbara and Cass, they form a Batgirl family, which is thematically an extension of Batman. And Steph certainly is united with the others under the common principles of crime fighting and vigilante justice.

Considering the nuances of family structure, we know that Steph would not see herself as part of Bruce's nuclear family, since she does not view him as her parent. However, she might think of herself as part of the extended family, in which she is a more vague kin to the nuclear members united by a common purpose, or even part of a blended family, in which she would maintain a sibling-like relationship with some or all of the other kids without claiming Bruce as a parent. Either way, she would still be considered family.

Miscellaneous

Playing devil's advocate a bit, an argument could be made in favor of nixing any of the batkids from the Batfam except for Damian depending on which definition you use.

What Is The Facets of Man?

The Facets of Man is a DC Comics AU centering around Jonathan Crane and Edward Nygma. It is written by sakurafever(Noelle) with art done by nixotinix(Nix). It will be posted on AO3 on January 9th, 2025! Jonathan and Edward are both something at the start of the story, but whatever they are gets put on hold when one day they wake up and instead of being two men, they're six, with each of them having been split into the three main parts of themselves who now have to navigate different and missing memories, their own individual struggles, and their relationships with each other until they find a way to be put back together. This blog is only here so that the creators of TFoM can have a public display of our own behavior over our own fic. Even if not a soul ever interacts with this blog, it'll be here for us to be crazy on every once in a while. Why is it being made early? Because TFoM being posted really isn't that far away now, so we might as well. Au where after getting thrashed by Doomsday; bleeding, battered, skull cracked open, and with barely any pulse and should by all rights be comatose Ted Kord/Blue Beetle 2 just gets up, annoyed as hell b/c he's quasi-undead due to the scarab and he very much does not want to talk about why he can get up after that.

I'm a bit vexed that tumblr nixed the handy dandy link I originally had between the lines.(I swear I've edited this half a dozen times bc tumblr is being so weird about links rn.) While I'm glad DC produced the Showcase, the series does benefit from color, tbh.

That would be more effective if I could see over the top of the pile. XD But yes, I desperately want to get Amethyst ahead on my list. The thing that's kept me from it is that I think I own all of the floppies for one of the series but I'm not sure which one. I need to just get my hands on the Showcase collection already.

SOPHIE DUMOND of 2019'S JOKER, written by Abigail, 25+, gmt. low-key, private, low-activity. influence solely from that film and my own work post-canon. single-story. anti-anti-anti 2024 musical, seriously do not come anywhere near me, I do bite.

independent sophie dumond of 2019's joker. this blog is part-time, exceedingly picky, and likely slow. exclusive to @jokethur's arthur and our own plot-driven canon we've built with my main muse, nix degraves, found at @banschivs. some influences from 2022's the batman. full pages here are unlikely.

currently sophie is not only a mother, and working in gotham square at gotham national bank, she is also putting herself through night school as a means to become a financial advisor some time in the future. she's aiming for a better life for her and her daughter, and like most in gotham, is pursuing some sense of freedom among the rubble. she is, however, due to her tenuous ties to one arthur fleck in the past, currently being surveilled by the court of owls. further information on the court and their reach can be found here.

number one banned fc is gaga, and essentially any other character from that upcoming musical. in an ideal world i'm allowed to forget it even exists, i don't want to so much as catch a whiff of its scent. for that reason i can be exceedingly picky when it comes to following back dc blogs. sophie, and the universe within which jessie and i have built that she exists, works perfectly for me.

though it's unlikely i'll be working off my dash much, i do ask all those i follow to please tag 'terminal illness cw' or 'cancer cw' where applicable. in turn i'll do my best to tag anything needed.

if your muse has anything to say to Soph, i.e you wanna interact, just lob a starter at me. as mentioned above i won't be using the dash here much at all, so that's your best bet for interaction.
