"No... not like this.": Wind & The Chain

Wind expected them to celebrate. There would be laughing, and cheering. They would patch up their injuries and congratulate each other with wide smiles. The older heroes might even allow him to have a drink.

He didn’t realise that when it was all over, they would stand there in silent shock. He hadn’t imagined it would be so easy. But it was… it was over, now. They had won. So why did he feel so bad?

Why did his heart sink, why did he find it impossible to smile? Why was there no laughing, no cheering?

Maybe it was the fact that it was over. And they all knew, even if they tried not to think about it, they knew that this was it. The same portals that had brought them together would tear them apart, sending them back to their own timelines, thousands of years away.

His brothers would go on with their lives. They would have families, and grow old. When they pass away, would they think of the heroes that came before them? Would they think of the ones still to come?

And what about him? How was he meant to leave, knowing his brothers were out there somewhere? The chain, they called themselves. Links in a chain. Connected. Together.

Nine enthralling swirls of divinity shimmered into focus. For the first time in a while, Wind truly felt like crying.

“Are we… are we supposed to go home?” Someone asked, voice catching on their words.

Wind looked around at the other Links, each looking as devastated as the last. “No!” He cried out, then his voice quietened, ears drooping. “Not like this.”

i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping

Someone at an old job asked why I wanted to write up the meeting minutes for our team and I said 'i wanna control the narrative' and they were like 'what' and I pointed out that no one was gonna remember what we said in six months and so my interpretation of the meeting would dictate the assumed reality of what happened

I find it so funny, in light of TikTok’s imminent American demise, that even now they aren’t considering moving to tumblr. The last two social media refugee crises (Twitter -> X and whatever happened with Reddit) prompted a wave of wide-eyed new baffled tumblr users to flood this app and yet last I heard all of the tiktokers are flooding en-masse a Chinese social media app. That is entirely in Mandarin. Instead of moving to tumblr.
