Why does this song keep on giving possible Main Villain/Dr. Stone vibes to me?
From instrumental to a lot of the lyrics and vibes.
Especially lyrics like
"There is no point trying to detest
So for your own sake,
Please do not resist."
Please, does someone see the vision?
Based on My headcanon of Villain/Dr. Stone (Ignore ugly design in that post pff)

Aufest creation is expected to run for three weeks after gameplay starts, and will have a two week anonymous reading period after gameplay comes to an end. You can expect the discord to be closing down approximately one week into July.
ABOUT:
MCYTBLR AU Fest 2025: Battleship is a MCYT creation event inspired by the multi-fandom event Battleship where teams of artists, writers, podficcers and web weavers work together to clear game boards faster than the other teams. Each team's board will be made up of squares marked with tags, and a square will be cleared when enough works containing that tag have been posted by that team. Clear your team's board and find traps and treasure, beat word count bosses, and post works faster than the other teams!
AU Fest Battleship is based on the multifandom Battleship Exchange, originally created in 2020 by Soulstoned and Red Ranger, inspired by a community challenge in the Trick or Treat exchange. Without the generous use of the multifandom spreadsheets created by current Battleship mod Firebird, AU Fest Battleship would not be possible.
EXPECTATION:
Artists can claim any tag clearly represented in their work, to a maximum of 100 tags per work.
Writers can claim any tag clearly represented in their work, with one tag per 100 words posted, a minimum of 300 words per work and a maximum of 100 tags claimed per work. (For example, a 3,200 word work could claim 32 tags, as long as each tag is clearly represented in the work.)
Podficcers can claim any tag clearly represented in the world they're podficcing, with one tag per 100 words of source material, a minimum of 300 words per work and a maximum of 100 tags claimed per work. (For example, a 700 word original source material could claim 7 tags, as long as each tag is clearly represented in the original work). Podficced works must have author permission.
Web weavers can claim any tag clearly represented in the work, with one tag per element of the weave, to a maximum of 100 tags per work, and a minimum of three elements per web weave. All elements must be clearly credited.
RULES:
You must be a member of the discord, for team communication.
Because of Tumblr, Ao3 and Discord TOS, you must be 13 to participate. You must be 18 to participate in an 18plus team.
Respect your fellow participants, even when you disagree on fandom matters
You agree to cooperate with your teammates to the best of your ability, even if you disagree about game tactics. Mods will discord jail people for extended arguing and asshole behaviour will get you kicked from the event.
All works must be mcyt-themed and set in an au— no canon-compliance.
The collection will be opened when at least one team has won the event and every participant has at least one gift.
All works must be complete and created for Aufest 2025.
All works must be gifted to a fellow participant in the event, respecting their DNWs and adhering to their requested ships and tags.
Dark or triggering topics or themes must be tagged for.
No AI-Generated content.
Don't be an asshole.

FAQ:
What is MCYTBLR AU Fest? MCYTBLR AU Fest 2025: Battleship is a collaborative gifting event where creators come together in teams to create fan works centred on MCYT and set in an alternate universe from canon.
How does it work?
Nominations and Signups: The event starts with a ship nomination week, where participants nominate ship tags that they want to be available for the event. Mods release a list of event tags covering different aus, themes, or tropes that will be used in gameplay. Once signup opens participant sign up on Ao3 in either the 18-plus or the all-ages collection, using the ship tags nominated earlier, indicating which ships would make a good gift for them, and which event tags they opt into for each ship. For each request you can also fill out a DNW to list things that you do not want as part of a gift to you.
Gameplay: Mods will divide participants into separate teams, and each team will be issued a 10*10 bingo-style board with tags in each square. Participants mark "hits" by posting a work featuring that tag, and once a square is "hit" a certain number of times, mods will reveal if that square contained treasure or a trap. Teams will race to find all the traps on their board and move on to the next round.
Each posted work must be gifted to another participant, respecting their requested ships and Do Not Want, and featuring at least one tag that the person requested. Works should also feature one or more tags from your team’s board to accumulate “hits.” Gifts can be given to your own team members or members of the opposing team.
The rounds go 1) tag board, 2) word count boss, 3) a different tag board, 4) word count boss, 5) final round with every tag in play. Aufest gameplay is over when at least one team has cleared the final tag board, and every participant has at least one gift.
Reading Weeks: All the works are revealed once gameplay is over, and then we take two weeks to read and comment on everyone's works!
What type of MCYT is included? We welcome creations based on any SMP, whether or not they have a canon tag on Ao3. Mianite, DSMP, QSMP, Hermitcraft, 3rd Life, Lifesteal, Witchcraft SMP— it’s all welcome. Crossovers are also welcome.
Can I join if my Art is a Game/Fan Song/Bookbind? While we love seeing different types of art, for this round of aufest participation is restricted to the four types of creation mentioned above— art, fic, podfic, web weave— because of the difficulty of calculating points and processing works quickly during gameplay.
Is shipping allowed? Yes. Because there is no broad fandom-wide consensus about how Creator boundaries are to be enforced in specific cases (whether it's okay to write beeduo as /r or /p is an obvious one, or whether it’s permitted to ship Joel Smallishbeans) or between specific fandoms (Lifesteal approach to shipping and boundaries is different from HBG is different from DSMP), the mods will not be policing any specific understanding of boundaries across the event. The event's motivating ethos is Don't Like Don't Read, in that participants will be able to indicate through tags in signups if they are interested in a given relationship being interpreted as romantic or platonic, and what subject matter they're interested in, and this must be respected when gifts are given. NSFW will have to be opted into and is only able to be opted into if you are part of the 18plus collection.
Is NSFW allowed? Yes. NSFW works are allowed, but must be opted into, both in the signup and by being part of the 18-Plus collection. No one under 18 is permitted to join the 18-plus collection. For the comfort of the greatest number of participants, and to conform with Tumblr TOS, anything with the tags Underage Sex or Adult/Minor Relationship will not be permitted to be part of the event.
How are Minors defined for the purposes of those warnings? We are primarily using the age within the work— so if the fic itself would require the tags. With recent server epilogues setting a "canon age" has become increasingly difficult across servers, and this is further complicated because of the fandom's tendency to both age up or age down their characters. It is no longer tenable to make a list of characters who are always minors (and by extension, those who are not), when we are taking about aus that frequently modify their ages anyways. As such, we are asking people to make sure that the work they create has all necessary characters being of-age in the work. In cases of ambiguity the mods will be interpreting with an attempt at good faith, but note that clear attempt to circumvent the content rules will fall under the "do not be an asshole" provision and could also result in a ban.
Note: the exception to this rule is if the streamer themselves is currently confirmed to be a minor. Even in an au, adult/minor relationships or Underage Sex would not be permitted in that case.
Are major archive warnings (noncon/graphic depictions of violence/MCD) allowed? Aside from content rules about underage, major archive warnings are allowed. Depictions of real life horrors such as genocide and slavery are not-uncommon motifs in MCYT fics, and the mod team is not interested in legislating which types of horrors, griefs or abuses are inherently worse than others and are therefore off-limits. Because holding writing to a quality standard or saying only survivors can write atrocities is unworkable from a moderation standpoint, the three mentioned major archive warnings (MCD, Graphic Depictions of Violence, Noncon), are permitted to be included.
However, Major Archive Warnings must be explicitly opted into during signups, and delivering un-asked for major archive warnings is grounds for a ban from the event. The major archive warning rape/non-con is only able to be opted into as part of the 18-plus collection.
What is a DNW? Participants will have the opportunity to fill out a DNW, which stands for Do Not Want. This is anything that has the potential to ruin a gift for you, and is where you opt out of content that would trigger, squick, or just render the gift unreadable for you. DNWs must be phrased politely, (so no "No foster aus because they suck and you suck if you like them"), and they must be reasonable, (so no "no blood/injury" if you also opted into graphic depictions of violence, and no attempting to box someone into a specific gift beyond what is depicted in the art, so no "dnw anything that isn't a modern au where scar is a theatre teacher and grian is a biology teacher and they live in a city named hermitopia and grian has a situationship with mumbo and scarian has a rivalry at a coffee shop for the half-price muffins and jellie has psychic powers she's manipulating the muffin market with"), and they must be specific and clear, (so no “no triggering content"). However, they can be as petty (disliking 1st person) or as broad-reaching (no modern aus, no specific ships not opted into, no crossovers with specific servers or fics) as you like. Deliberately breaking someone's DNW is grounds for a ban from the exchange.
Is Dark/Violent content allowed? As long as it is something that the person has not DNWed, yes. For many of us, the source material that originally drew us to the fandom includes major character death, torture, murder-for-hire, death games, public executions, child death and more. The fanfiction that arose from the source material follows in that trend. We will allow dark content to be part of the event, but it must be tagged for.
We also ask that participants use best judgement in delivering commonly triggering topics un-asked for. We reserve the right to ban people at mod's discretion for delivering unrequested triggering content, under the "do not be an asshole" rule.
Moreover, if your fic is rated E for any reason, (including violence or gore) it can only be delivered if you are on an 18-plus team, gifted to another 18-plus team member.
How can I get involved? You can participate in this event as a:
Author
Artist
Web Weaver
Podficcer
Mod
Can I participate as a pinch hitter? This event doesn't require pinch hitters in the normal way, because there are no assignments— everyone picks who they want to gift to, as many times as they want. However, the event doesn't end until everyone has a gift, so at the end of the event a list of everyone who doesn't have a gift yet will be posted, and it will be possible for anyone to make a gift for those people at that time. However, in the normal run of an exchange before 14% and 20% of an exchange is pinch-hit, with anywhere from a month to a day to make the gift, and in multifandom battleship the giftless list that gets released is closer to 2% to 3% of the event, with all gifts due ASAP. There are far fewer gifts due in this way, and the format and schedule is quite different. If you are planning to wait to pick up an assignment in this way, you should know that it doesn't work like traditional pinch hitting. If you know you want to participate in the event, you would do better to join a team (you can still pick your own assignment in a manner similar to pinch-hitting), or treat as a non-team-member during the event by picking from the giftless list.
Can I join as a Mod? This event is going to need a lot of modding, as the back end is intensive. We will need mods both to help moderate the discord and keep things collaborative and convivial, and we will need mods to do ao3 backend and spreadsheet work (the spreadsheets are extensive). Mod applications will go up in April. Because of the possibility of handling 18-plus material, all mods will need to be 18 or older.
You said spreadsheets? The spreadsheeting for this event is chiefly thanks to the ingenious Firebird, mod of the original battleship, who did things with spreadsheets we did not know were possible. This event would not work without her coding.
When do I have to join the discord? You have the option to join the discord as soon as it opens on May 17, and we ask that you join before signups close on May 30th.
How does team assignment/claims work? After you fill out your Ao3 signup, you will will out a google form that will ask you some questions that will allow us to balance teams (so that we don't have all the podficcers on one team, for example, or all the faster writers on a different team). Mods will balance the teams based on the google form. If you do not fill out the google form, you will be assigned a team at random.
I'm a slow writer, can I still be involved? Slow writers are an invaluable asset to any team, and are definitely still welcome. As long as you think you can get at least one work finished during the three weeks of the creation period, please, join us!
It sounds like you make works based on tags, but I'm a slow writer and I'm afraid my team is going to clear my board before I finish my work. Can I still help my team? Half the event tags will be on the first board and half on the second, so as soon as you see the first board, you'll know which ones will be on the second, and then you can aim for a work that hits tags from both boards. Let's say the first board is revealed and it has "storms" but not "rain". You start writing a work where rain storms are prominent. Possibilities:
you finish the work during the first board, and hit the "storms" tag.
you finish it during the first boss, and your wordcount goes to defeating the boss.
you finish it during the second board, and hit the "rain" tag.
you finish it during the second boss, and your wordcount goes to defeating the boss.
you finish it during the final board and both rain and storms are in play, and you hit both tags.
you finish it after the game ends and the recipient gets a treat.
The fic I'm writing is turning into a multi-chapter. Do I have to have it all written before I post? Mods will only process tags on works that have been marked as "complete", so yes, you do have to have it all written before you post. Remember, you can claim a maximum of 100 tags per work, so aiming for 10k there or thereabouts will allow you to be maximally efficient.
Can I post a comic? Comics are a great way to hit some more unusual tags! Comic away! However, substantially repeating material in an attempt to boost word count or length is not permitted, so comic panels copied with only minor variations may not be accepted.
What does AU mean in this context? AU stands for Alternate Universe and in this case means anything that would make the work not able to be tagged as canon compliant. Alternate endings, role reversals, complete setting or plot swaps, and crossovers all count. As this is a fest specifically to celebrate AUs, we ask that the AU be a significant and celebrated part of the work, not something that could be skipped if you aren’t paying attention.
Can I look at the tags before creation period starts? The tag list will be released during nominations week, so everyone can get a look at it and consider which tags work best for their blorbos. We will be asking for community submissions in early May, so you might even get to help build the tag list yourself.
Can I create multiple fics? The spirit of battleship is all about creating multiple works, but we still want everyone to have a chance to contribute. Participants are capped at seven works per tag board or 50k per word count boss, to allow their other team members to contribute.
Can I use AI to help me with my piece? You must create your work yourself, as that is the spirit of the event. Works may not be wholly or partially created by generative text or art programs (so-called "AI") such as chatGPT or OpenArt.ai. Works may not be wholly or partially duplicated from other works, and may not contain substantial repeated material included in an effort to boost word count (such as paragraphs or comics panels that are copied with minor variations).
What if I need to drop out? We know that life is no respecter of event deadlines, so there's no hard feelings if something happens. However, if you are fully going to be unable to contribute for the rest of the event, please contact the mods, because boards may need to be re-balanced if your team is down a member.
I have a question not answered here? Send us an ask on tumblr, contact @antimony-medusa on tumblr or discord!

Hello and welcome to the @inugangexchange blog! As this will be the third year running, we felt it was a good idea to introduce a blog here to help with getting questions answered, sharing the amazing works created for the event, and supporting creators!
The Inu-Gang Exchange is held in the summer with Tag Nominations beginning June 15th (We'll post about what that means later!), and Signups beginning June 22nd. There are other stepping stones, but the main event, the Big Content Reveal is currently planned for August 3rd! Creators will then be revealed a week later after everyone gets a chance to guess who did what.
This is an all pairing exchange (with a few exceptions), including rare pairs and OCs.
We'll post further about exchange rules, parameters, etc.
In the meantime, hello and welcome!

shine bright like a diamonds..
I think this is going to be my favourite category.
I was inspired to create Aaliyah by the singer Tyla, so let's think of her as a prototype, so here are a few facts about her biography:
Age: 28 years old, birthday June 15, 1996, zodiac sign: gemini
Living: Oasis Springs, Aaliyah lives in a luxurious, expansive mansion in Oasis Springs. Her home has been featured in lifestyle magazines for its blend of modern architecture and artistic decor.
Musical Genre: Aaliyah is a versatile artist who seamlessly combines elements of pop and jazz in a style she calls "Jazz-Pop Soul." This approach, with its rich jazz undertones and catchy pop rhythms, appeals to a wide audience and has made her music memorable.
Influences: she draws inspiration from classic jazz legends like Nina Simone and contemporary pop icons such as Alicia Keys. Her sound includes touches of blues and R&B, giving her songs a soulful, emotionally resonant quality.
Early Beginnings: she started her musical journey at just 16, singing in local clubs where her powerful voice and magnetic presence quickly attracted attention. She was discovered by a producer and signed her first record deal at 20.
Awards and Recognition: Aaliyah has earned multiple Grammy nominations and won the "Best New Artist" award during her first year in the industry. Critics have praised her unique ability to infuse jazz nuances into popular music.
Fashion: her style is both chic and eclectic, often featuring a mix of designer brands with bold, unique statement pieces.
Hobbies: Outside of music, Aaliyah has a passion for art and painting. She also actively supports local artists, hosting exhibitions in her home to showcase their work.
Personal Life: A huge basketball fan, Aaliyah often attends games in her free time. She’s been open about her admiration for a well-known NBA star, with whom she’s rumored to share a close connection. Fans speculate about a budding romance, though she remains tight-lipped about the details.
Lots recommended: The Osasis Restaraunt, SBA Stadium, Techo Azul
With her deep roots in jazz and a flair for pop appeal, Aaliyah Lawson stands out as one of the most dynamic performers of her generation.
All rights belong to the creators, and huge thanks to them for the custom content.
If you have any problems, don't be shy and text me. But hopefully everything will be fine. If you add Aaliyah to your gameplay, tag me under posts, I'll be insanely happy!

CDawgVA: Did you envision back in the day when you were raiding Club Penguin icebergs that you would be here making advancements in language translation for streamers?
Quackity: Umm... You know what? It's really interesting because I was born and raised in Mexico, so growing up, I always thought of a world where someone who speaks Spanish but doesn't speak English could collaborate with a creator regardless of the language. So, it always was in my mind, and to see it come to fruition and see it happening and being able to meet all these talented, talented and incredible people that I now call close friends from around the world? That's- that' a blessing, and I'm so happy, I'm so thrilled.
[ Full Transcript ↓ ]
-
CDawgVA: Hello and welcome back! I'm joined by Quackity. How you doing, man?
Quackity: I'm doing great, man! This is amazing, I'm so excited for today.
CDawgVA: The energy is palpable. It's not often the streamers get to go outside.
Quackity: That's true.
CDawgVA: However, you have been responsible for joining many streamers together with your QSMP, and not just streamers of the same language– streamers of all different kinds of language, and very recently, you added Korean!
Quackity: Yeah, that's right! We added a Korean creator, we're planning to add more, but this is an absolute– this is crazy, and to see all the nominations being like, all these creators, it's amazing! It's truly a wonderful thing to see.
CDawgVA: And you're nominated for three awards, if I'm not mistaken. Best Minecraft, is right, and best International Streamer, and Streamer of the Year. Are you excited? How do you feel like your odds are?
Quackity: To me, it doesn't matter. I'm nominated with like, all my friends, so I think we're all winning! We all get to celebrate together, whoever wins, so that's like, wonderful. I'm here for the show, I'm here for my friends, and that's the most important part to me.
CDawgVA: Yeah. As a content creator myself who's been living in different countries, and trying to integrate multiple languages, what are some of the challenges you've had trying to work with multiple languages and specifically, mainly Spanish and English for your audience, but trying to bring all these languages together? What's the biggest challenge you've been facing?
Quackity: Oh, well, I think the thing we look at the most is to make sure that all creators are very comfortable with it, right? It can be overwhelming, especially if they might not understand each other, you know, if we're using the real time translator that we have, we got to make sure that they're in a setting that the creators are comfortable with. That's the biggest thing, that's our biggest concern with all the time, and that's what we look forward to, like– making sure all the creators are feeling good!
CDawgVA: Did you envision back in the day when you were raiding Club Penguin icebergs that you would be here making advancements in language translation for streamers?
Quackity: Umm... You know what? It's really interesting because I was born and raised in Mexico, so growing up, I always thought of a world where, you know, someone who speaks Spanish but doesn't speak English could collaborate with a creator regardless of the language. So, it always was in my mind, and to see it come to fruition and see it happening and being able to meet all these talented, talented and incredible people that I now call close friends from around the world? That's- that' a blessing, and I'm so happy, I'm so thrilled.
CDawgVA: It is fantastic seeing all the advancements you guys are making, and just seeing that you bring streamers together! And I know the QSMP specifically has many events going on concurrently. Is there an event that you held last year that you were just really stoked about?
Quackity: Oh my gosh. Well, we host server-wide events for all the creators and everything just to give, you know, the creators a base where they can create content and all. The most recent one does sound funny, but it was called "QSMP Prison".
CDawgVA: Kai (?) did something like that actually.
Quackity: Right, but he did that in real life– no, we did it in Minecraft. But it was fun, it was cool to see all the creators, you know, all different languages kind of like in an enclosed space speaking to each other. It was a really cool thing.
CDawgVA: It's absolutely fantastic seeing what you're doing and I hope you have a great Stream Awards. It's an absolute pleasure getting to meet you, man. Enjoy the Stream Awards, I really appreciate it, man!
Quackity: Thank you so much!
CDawgVA: Keep doing what you're doing.
Quackity: Thank you!
CDawgVA: Thank you, thank you. Alright, I'm going to be throwing it back to another interview. So, see you guys then. Bye!

Get excited!!!! It’s time for Creator Nominations!
Here’s how it works: You submit your favorite Eris creators via the form. Then, we reach out and talk to that creator, ask them some questions, highlight their favorite work, and then hype them up on the blog 🔥
Creator nominations will be open for two weeks - until Sunday, July 7th.
You can submit as many times as you’d like until the deadline. Then, the organizers will start reaching out to nominated creators!!!
NOTE: This will take some time, so if you know someone was nominated but we don’t reach out to them immediately, please don’t fret.
🍁 Nominate your favorite creators here 🍁
FAQ UNDER THE CUT
Is this open to people who aren’t fanfic writers or artists?
Yes! You can nominate moodboard creators, incorrect quote writers, poets, etc. If they make something related to Eris, it counts! Even if they made that work a long time ago.
Can I nominate myself?
Yes. PLEASE DO. The form is anonymous so we won’t know anyway.
Do I need to have x amount of kudos, followers, fics, art etc, in order to be nominated?
Nope! The goal is to celebrate the community regardless of popularity, visibility, or type of creation. Fics can be in progress - they don't have to be finished!
Is there a limitation on ships?
Not at all. If you make things about Eris, ship or no ship, that counts. Ships with canon characters, OCs and x Reader count too.
I want to nominate myself, but I’m shy!! Or I am not sure I count. Or I think I am not good enough yet. Or Nominating myself feels like being selfish, or if I nominate myself, it only proves that no one cares, so I feel like I’m failing if I nominate myself.
Hey. You are good enough! This nomination form has no stakes. There is no winning or losing. We want to celebrate you because you ARE awesome, and we want people to see your work! It can be hard to find creators on this site, but we know that folks regularly see and interact with Eris Week content. Let us celebrate you! We’re so happy to have you here. 🧡

Dr. Phil filming a ride-along with ICE agents, interviewing apparent migrants, and making it look like an episode of Cops feels like something I’d dream up after taking a little too much melatonin and scrolling TikTok before bed.
But instead, the “contentification” of President Donald Trump’s policy is indeed the logical next step for a team that won the election with the help of influencers and content creators. Following suit, Trump’s cabinet has basically created the White House’s own cinematic universe.
Only a few days after her confirmation, Kristi Noem, Trump’s Department of Homeland Security secretary, was filmed alongside Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents conducting an operation. “I’m here in New York City,” Noem told the camera in a vertical video, wearing a bulletproof vest and with a fresh blowout. “We’re getting these dirtbags off these streets.”
Back in December, I wrote that we should not only expect the government to continue its work with influencers but also to become influencers themselves. This week it became clear that this is what the Trump administration has been planning to do with its cabinet leaders all along. They’re not just leading the government, they’re making content while doing it.
Look at who Trump nominated for cabinet positions. Nearly across the board, these nominees have experience playing it up for the camera. Noem is a MAGA media veteran, often appearing on networks like Newsmax to discuss topics of the day. Linda McMahon, wife to former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, has gotten in the wrestling ring a time or two herself. Over the course of his presidential campaign, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. couldn’t get enough of the media, appearing on Joe Rogan’s podcast and anywhere else that would have him. And of course, Pete Hegseth is a former Fox News host. On Tuesday, CNN chief media analyst Brian Stelter wrote that these ICE raids were crafted with television and the internet in mind.
Before his first week in office, Trump had played casting director. Now, we’re getting the pilot episodes.
Still, it’s not like all that much has changed in terms of digital infrastructure at these agencies. It might just be that the GOP is doing it better—and giving their audience what it wants. Even under the Biden administration, DHS and ICE organized ride-alongs with the media, especially with MAGA-friendly broadcasters like Fox News. The agencies would often post photos of enforcement officers cuffing alleged migrants on platforms like X as well. Most of the multimedia staffers are career employees with few slots for political appointees, according to a source familiar with DHS’s public affairs office.
But as Stelter wrote yesterday, the tone of the content is different. And that’s likely a result of the onscreen talent. You’re going to get an entirely different product when working with media veterans like Dr. Phil and Noem. The only Biden cabinet secretary that could rival those two was Pete Buttigieg.
While all of this is happening, the Democrats are waiting to elect a new director before they can even think about casting. On Saturday, Democrats will be voting on their next party chair. There are nearly a dozen people running to fill the spot, but the election is mainly seen as a two-man race between Wisconsin party chair Ben Wikler and Ken Martin, a DNC vice chair.
Wikler, Martin, and many other candidates appeared on a virtual forum Tuesday night specifically focused on the DNC’s future in tech and media. For about an hour, they were asked how they would revamp the party’s data infrastructure and tackle new media. Many of them appeared anxious to take it on.
When I first started covering this beat, Wikler was constantly pitched to me as an example of a Democratic party official who was doing digital the right way. I spoke with him in December, where he reinforced that Democrats needed to respond to the changing media environment quickly if they planned to win elections in the near future. On Tuesday night, Wikler went on to suggest that the DNC create its own innovation lab focused on keeping up with their opposition.
“You need to build a culture of curiosity, innovation, experimentation, and iteration, knowing that many things won’t work,” Wikler said Tuesday night. “So you need to try even more things.”
Martin wants to do something similar by building an “Information War Room” more focused on fighting misinformation.
“That Information War Room will become the hub for better, ongoing, constant digital communications with real-time analytics and also with social listening, so we understand where the misinformation and disinformation is being pumped out, and as part of that, we need to recruit trusted messengers, influencers, creators, and their networks to communicate over the long haul,” Martin said.
That war room already exists on the right. The Trump campaign hosted influencers for special debate war rooms, and the same person who ran the Trump campaign’s war room has now been appointed “war room director” for the White House.
Faiz Shakir, a former Bernie Sanders adviser and the executive director of More Perfect Union, is also running for DNC chair, and he sees things differently. Instead of simply partnering with creators, he envisions a DNC that acts as its own media network. “You don't just sprinkle fairy dust on a Mobilize link or YouTube link,” he said. “We should be raising money right now for the national Meals on Wheels Association, Head Start for America, just raise money for them and build engagement. Do actions on the ground with people, send videographers. This is what I'm doing right now at More Perfect Union.”
On Saturday, Democrats will choose who they want leading the party and taking on what will likely be a massive digital rebrand. During Tuesday’s forum, many of the candidates promised to move past the “boom-and-bust” periods of investing in digital and then stripping programs down to the bones between election cycles.
But it’s hard to imagine they’ll be able to keep up. Republicans have invested in this for years, and Trump has clearly brought it all to the White House. Plus, season two has just begun.

Rules
The exchange is multifandom, and open to artists, writers, and podficcers. Fandoms do not have to have a canonized Ao3 tag to participate.
You must be a member of the Discord, for communication purposes.
Once assigned, participants will have 48 hours to deliver their gift.
Artists are expected to deliver a decent sketch, Writers and Podficcers have a 300 word minimum
No AI-Generated content.
This exchange will be operating on DL:DR when it comes to what the mods will police and what we ask you to respect in terms of other people’s requests. The single exception is RPF, which has additional rules.
RPF is allowed. Persons nominated for RPF must be famous in their own right and over the age of 18. Persons famous chiefly for their participation in facist regimes or as serial killers will not be considered for nomination. Mods reserve the right to reject RPF nominations in poor taste.
Original Work is allowed. Use the "Original Work" fandom. If it is important to you that a person within a specific pairing is a specific gender, make that clear within the tag, for example "Middle-aged King (M)/His Loyal Bodyguard (NB) (Original Work)".
As this is a 13+ exchange, there is no NSFW allowed, even if you’re sure that both you and your recipient are adults. This applies both to sexual content and to extreme (e-rated) gore.
To increase matching options, tags must be seconded (nominated twice) to make it into the tag set. Because of this, tag nominations will be collected through a google form.
You can nominate tags for up to ten fandoms, with up to twenty tags nominated in each.
You will have one week to submit relationships and characters to a tag set, one week to write your prompts, and 48 hours to deliver your gift.
Participants are required to request at least three fandoms (with associated prompts), and offer to create around at least three fandoms.
To help your creator out, you must offer either a list of likes or prompts that contains at least one element that works for each art form that you have opted into. If you opt into art, you must give at least one art prompt or art like in your signup, and the same for fic or podfic.
To increase matching options, at least one of your ships has to be either Gen (platonic relationship) or a single-character tag— just one overall, not one per fandom.
Please include anything you absolutely don't want to receive (Do Not Wants) in the Optional Details field in your AO3 signup. Only DNWs in the Ao3 signup will be enforced, and mods will not enforce DNWs that are overly restrictive, unclear, or used to box a recipient into a specific gift (i.e. "nothing gross", or "I don't want anything that isn't a space au with the mc's other major love interest dead off screen".)
This exchange uses Ao3's matching algorithm, and as such, you need an Ao3 Account.
Make sure the email attached to your AO3 account is one that a) you check regularly, and b) are comfortable with exchange mods seeing. You can verify your email here: archiveofourown.org/users/[your ao3 name here]/change_email
As per Ao3 and Discord’s TOS, you must be at least 13.
