Intro Post

Hi! I'm Puffin [he/she/they], a queer disabled cosplayer from Germany! I am 'migrating' to Tumblr as I no longer really find IG useable for Cosplay purposes, and Youtube and Tiktok are both just not the place to post pictures [though I do have profiles on both], so - taadaa! New sideblog!

I cosplay a lot from fantasy media - DND Podcasts, TV Shows and Films, books, Minecraft SMP Roleplays - and occasionally from things like superhero comics as well. I started my cosplay journey in 2018 and have been interested in costuming and costume making since around 2014. One of my major special interests is costuming, so for me personally, the making of my cosplays is part of the fun. I sew by hand, as my sewing machine is both broken and scares me, and I often add heaps of embroidery and beading to my costumes. I also like to work with natural fibre fabrics whenever possible both for environmental and sensory reasons.

Obviously, any photos posted here are the intellectual property of me or of the photographers that took them. There is no consent given to use anything on this blog to train generative AI, nor to repost any of the images without credit. Basically just don't be an asshole and respect intellectual property. Also, obviously, any form of bigotry won't be accepted.

This is a progress shot when the hand painted designs I did for Doflamingo's clothes were completed.

Developing a cosplay is so very fun my confidence is rising. My visually impaired ass had to put a 10 second timer to see the large numbers so I'm very proud of how this photo turned out.

I first painted with bleach on the thrifted pants. 1 part chlorine bleach to 2 parts water ratio on bright orange fabric creates a dull hot pink so I had made a turmeric dye bath to bring back an orange hue then washed, dried and used white textile paint following the previous marking. With the thrifted shirt I first drew the design with a red color pencil then used a red textile paint and an angular brush. Letting fabric paint dry and set for 3 nights before hand washing the garment is key.

A cool picture from my time at (a now defunct) local con last month. A bit sad to see it go but it was definitely nice while it lasted.

Finally got my enmu suit jacket properly finished, compared to when I first wore it in March I still needed to sew the lining in and put buttons and buttonholes on, so I thankfully got that done in time for this one.

I swear this suit jacket has tried to take me out at least twice, the first time was when I had to do some serious con crunching to get it wearable in time and the second time when I was trying to get it properly finished. Thankfully the second time around wasn’t as severe, it’s not that the stuff I had to do was difficult, I just had other things I wanted to do so I had to make myself work on it so I could wear it. So that’s what I did.

Hello everyone! Here is my first cosplay post on Tumblr!! I bring you the lovely Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel. I put a bit of my own twist on him with long hair and a cabaret inspired aesthetic. I hope you guys like it!!
