Split Bean Coffee
Tumblr media
Review
Tumblr media
While at the Tennessee fair this past summer, we saw a lot of vendors. We checked most of them out, but one stuck out for us. One with coffee and smelled amazing. So of course, we had to go and check it out. And are we glad we did. A veteran owned coffee place called Split Bean Coffee. They have their shop not too far from where we live. We promised we would stop by and check it out. But while there we just talked with the owner and his family. They are all so nice. It was nice just chatting with them. And getting a sample. We went to the fair twice and went to their table to buy more coffee since we had tried the first two, we had bought. They were heavenly so we knew we wanted to buy two more. Ryan and I actually went to have coffee and breakfast there last month while our girls were in school. Nice little shop with coffee for sell in bags and other merchandise. Their food that we had was delicious along with the coffee drinks we ordered. I just had a dark roast while Ryan had a Cuban. When you walk in, you are greeted by some very nice staff members and the delicious aromas of freshly brewed coffee. It's clean, it's spacious, and they have plenty of table for you to just sit, relax, and enjoy your coffee and breakfast. They sell ground, whole bean, and even K-cups of their coffee so they think about all of their coffee loving customers.

So Good!
Tumblr media
We had a wonderful time at the coffee shop. We hope to go back again soon, but our first experience was definitely enjoyable. And how can we not support a fellow veteran? We understand the scarifies he and his family went through while he was in the military, having to make some of the same ourselves. He is living his dream now with a wonderful coffee shop and delicious coffee beans you can take home to enjoy day after day in your own home. I really hope if you are ever in Lebanon, Tennessee, you will find this coffee shop and enjoy a hot cup of coffee and something delicious to eat. I give this place a 12/10.

For the ask game: *Rolls dice* Aral & Illyan and ... aquarium? Sure, let's go with that :)
Early Regency, Vorkosigan House Library, the wee hours of some morning.
"Vorkauffman wants a what?"
Aral's lips quirked up at the corner, and he took another sip of late-night, Cordelia-ordained, 'If it's after 1am and the business isn't urgent, then you'll darn well drink' non-caffeinated tea. "Maybe he heard about the elephant."
Simon sighed, and sipped his own tea. It was clear, now, that claiming the elephant job as an ImpSec mission, rather than leaving it to the Diplomatic Corps, had been a major mistake for his ongoing dignity.
"Seriously though," Aral said, "Would you set an accountant on it? I don't think he's trying to embezzle through public works. I think the man genuinely likes tropical fish. But where there's smoke..."
"'Where there's seaspray, there's tsunamis'?" Simon suggested wryly. "Will do." Another man might have jotted down a note; Simon Illyan had no need. "As for the rest of the department's expenditures..."

Chat do I get coffee
Pros: incredibly sleepy but I have a paper to get done and my 2D final to finish. Coffee would perhaps give me the energy and motivation to get this done
Cons: it is 9pm

Every time I drink two energy drinks on the same day I feel like garbage come bed time but it doesn't stop me from every so often being like "hmmm but what if today that doesn't happen and I get to have more tasty grape drink" (it will. It will happen. I must be strong)

I am ex-Mormon and the stories I could tell are wild.
When I was a tyke, you couldn't drink anything caffeinated, including soda. The common interpretation of why "hot drinks" were banned by the Word of Wisdom was that they contained caffeine. Soda obviously wasn't a "hot drink" but the caffeine ban extended to it. I had a whole spiritual crisis because I drank a Mello Yello at the age of six.
If that's changed in the long interim since I got my baptism revoked, that's interesting to know!
I can only imagine being friends with Mormons sucks but being friends with ex-Mormons is so fucking fun. The fuck do you mean you’ve never had a can of Coke? Here. Try it. It rules.

Hi again Loomy!
I'm really excited for s4 and what is going to be done with it, from what I've heard its going to be good (no spoilers tho thankfully)
Do you have any hc of tea kettle? mainly with Taco I physically can't get enough of what their dynamic could be like. You can't tell me she wont take one look at this 5 apples tall malnourished woman and not decide to smother her motherly love whether she likes it or not. She did it with Nickel and Balloon and she'll do it again.
Thanks!
Tumblr media
Also take this thing I put together at midnight while half asleep.
Hi Clover!!^^ Welcome back, and thank you for sending in your request!! :]
You are so right. Tea Kettle already has a little gremlin son AND a previously kind-of villain son. She is so well-equipped it's not even funny. Well it's a little funny.
She gives Taco so many snacks. So much food. She gets on Taco about eating very hard. There would be an incident, I think, early on in which TK, Mic, and the greater cast learn that Taco is not exaggerating when she says she can't eat any more than she does. Id est, They try to have her eat more food because she doesn't eat nearly enough to be healthy, but her stomach is quite small from having had such restricted access to food for such a long duration of time that she physically can't increase her portion size without throwing up. Other issues as well, based on what she's most deficient in, but I won't go into that. So, snacks. Frequent snacks. If Taco can't eat enough in three regular meals, she'll eat enough through snacks in between. Taco doesn't particularly want to get back to a healthy weight/eating habits at least at first, though that's mental health related and again I won't go into it, but TK is a stubborn mom. She probably learns a bunch of lemon recipes since Taco can not resist the allure of lemons.
TK gets much less upset when Taco is rude than when Nickel is rude. This is because Nickel is doing it on purpose because he is a little shit, and Taco genuinely doesn't realise if she's being too harsh and is trying not to be. Taco gets a calm reminder where Nickel gets an Annoyed Mom Glare. Like that one Gordon Ramsey meme where he calls the child beautiful and the adult a fucking donkey.
They talk about tea so much. Hours and hours could be dedicated to discussing the intricate details of tea. British tea parties vs Japanese tea ceremonies. Caffeinated vs noncaffeinated. The ethics of the Dutch East India Company. Bagged vs Loose. There is so, so much to talk about it and you better bet they talk about it all. They have little tastings, for fun and for comparison.
Taco keeps trying to get Tea Kettle to pronounce hors d'oeuvres 'correctly', and by correctly I mean in proper French. Tea Kettle doesn't hear much of a difference, and the difference she does hear is not one she knows how to pull off with her mouth. Someone starts calling them 'horse divorces' and Taco changes targets immediately.

are there any herbal/noncaffeinated summery teas you would recommend? i had a hibiscus situation the other morning that really made my day. i hope you have seen lots of flowers lately!
A hibiscus situation! That sounds exciting.
I have three suggestions for you, which may not be typically summery teas (I don't drink much fruity herbal tea), but all of which I love very much:
One of my favorite herbal teas, which I've probably mentioned before because I love it so much, is just a simple blend of lavender and elderflower, with nothing else. It's maybe more springtime than summery but it's a total delight, and though I got mine as a house blend from a local tea shop I bet you could find similar things elsewhere.
Similarly, if you can get ahold of some dried chrysanthemum flowers you can make a simple chrysanthemum tea, which I find light and lovely and really refreshing iced and lightly sweetened.
"Greek mountain tea," as it's called outside of Greece, is made from ironwort/sideritis, though you'll also find blends for sale which add chamomile and/or oregano. It has a delicate flavor, strongly herbal and slightly floral to my palate, and I find it very summery though really good at any time of year. I also like it both hot and iced.

Continuing to scale down my caffeine. I went from 2 cups of coffee a day to only black tea and soda. Now I'm doing only green/herbal tea and noncaffeinated soda. Might end up fully decaf but I'd like to keep green tea if I can.

Neither has confessed their feelings. I do have ideas though.
Asel and Y'shtola
It began in the Seasong grotto with a recitation of The Sailor's Requiem.
Yes, Y'shtola has had Asel's interest from the first.
It began with idle idolization. Asel was impressed by her intellect and wished she could be as well-spoken and calm as she was.
This changed with time as these things are wont to. If one were to ask her, Asel would be unlikely to point just when and to what.
There were many turns in their relationship beginning with Titan and lately during their time in the Rak'tika Greatwood.
Asel thinks she will confess soon. She hopes Y'shtola will accept her feelings. She also hopes that one day they may live together, mayhaps in the Great Gubal Library. Perhaps elsewhere. As long as they are together.
But first, she needs to talk to her more. And probably introduce her to her parents.
Oscar and G'raha
For G'raha, it started early with his stories of heroes. With the hearing of one in particular and then meeting the man. He was fascinated.
For Oscar, it started with a quiet conversation under the stars by the shore of Silvertear Lake. With knowledge of the stars and their stories shared. With a bond forming.
But then it ends, or perhaps pauses, when G'raha seals himself in the tower. The nature of said bond confuses Oscar.
It doesn't help that approaching a noncaffeinated Thancred with questions like "What does a crush feel like?" and "How do you know if you have one?" is apparently a bad idea.
For Oscar, thoughts on the matter fade until he winds up in the First.
For G'raha, the tower is unsealed and things become far more complicated.
Nothing is resolved in the First and yet so much is learned from their time there.
And now they are together again on the source. With time, Oscar will figure out what his feelings mean. And hopefully, he will talk to G'raha about them before they head to Tural.
They may even have a future together among the Students of Baldesion. They could always use a bodyguard and the warrior of light/darkness is more than qualified.
Hey... hey anyone with wolships or other FFXIV ships (since I know not everyone's characters are WoL).
Show me your "How it started // How it's going" can be gpose, art, writing. I just want to know about your ffxiv ships. Can be OCxOC, OCxNPC, Polyships, multiships, or anything else I didn't account for.
