one of my favourite things about the bad kids is absolutely none of them are part of conventional families. you've got:

- adaine being disowned and moving in with her guidance counsellor turned adoptive father and her older sister, who's kind of an asshole but they're working on it

- transracial adoptee gorgug who loves both sets of parents very much, thank you (and doesn't need his parents dickhead relatives in his life)

- riz and his overworked but genuinely lovely single mother

- and, of course, kristen applebees, who lives with two of her best friends and her ex-girlfriend's uncle

Fig is dating Ayda + relations with Gertie and Mary Ann + inconsequent one night stands with guys (all consensual now). She mostly spend time with Ayda, they live together etc but sometime she takes Gertie or Mary Ann on dates. Ayda is her half of the time and she really likes Mary Ann.

Gorgug is dating Mary Ann, Unit, Ragh, Fabian and Squeem. Those relationships vary in time, intensity and regularity and depend on the availability of everyone but he loves them all and they all love him

Adaine after a very very long time is casually dating Oisin, he got his life, she got hers but sometime their lives match and they get to hang out. It is very unclear if there's anything romantic in it. But it's nice and they like it. She also spends a lot of dates with Lucy for someone who is "not dating Lucy" but that's another thing.

Fabian is dating Mazey, Ragh and Gorgug, it's wonderful, he love it, gets plenty of kisses and they regularly prevent him for murdering his siblings

Kristen is dating Tracker (so far the broke up 7 times but it's so much better each time) and Gertie (this took a looong time), it's chaotic, it's loud but they are getting to the better versions of themselves + has a thing with Lucy? Maybe? Who knows

Riz isn't dating anyone. However he is almost all the time with Fabian, Ragh and Gorgug. He is here for some dates, for the hangouts and everything. So he is not dating them but he is not not dating them if it makes sense. He is here for the ride

Bonus: Ivy and Aelwyn finally got together. They heal together, they are mean together. It's great.

Bonus: Riz and Adaine are the ones who put up The Calendar, which is a organisation tool that everyone love but was primarily started so they stop running into people fucking at Fabian's house or Mordred Manor

So---Ayda's Aziraphale, and Fig is Crowley, no real explanation as to why. Bookish celestial meets rebellious fiend.

Ayda's a bit more on the lines of book!Aziraphale in terms of personality---she's less of a fussy sweetheart and more of a kind badass---and she actually holds the braincell in the relationship. She's constantly caught between her duty to Heaven, who she feels like she owes for putting up with her even though she doesn't always understand everything (though she never asks any questions, because she knows what happens to the angels who do), and between her undying love for Earth and how wonderfully odd the humans are. Ayda would do anything to protect Earth, and she is well-practiced at keeping secrets from Heaven... but openly disobeying them is something she's still learning how to do.

Fig, on the other hand, is so rebellious that she had no problem going up against Heaven the minute she smelled a rat---in fact, despite her utter lack of standing in Hell, she was one of the very first angels to Fall alongside Lucifer. The only problem is, she's well aware that she doesn't have a decent fallback option if she stands up against Hell, so she settles with doing things the clandestine way. Instead of tempting people on Earth, Fig helps organize uprisings and revolutions---and in doing so, allows humans to reveal their true colors, whether good or bad, so Hell doesn't really see an issue with what she does. And Fig's grown to love Earth as much as Ayda does, so when Hell springs the apocalypse on her, well... who's she to let it happen, huh?

As for the other roles---

Adaine is Anathema and Riz is Newt, but there's absolutely zero romance involved, because Riz is an aroace king. Instead, Adaine's dealing with the pressure of being the oracle chosen to stop the apocalypse, while Riz is interning for Arthur Aguefort as an apprentice witch hunter---hunter as in investigation, not hunter as in kill. When they meet, they realize that they've both been collecting enough clues to actually work together to stop the end of the world---and not only that, but The Book actually mentions that Riz will be an ally to Adaine.

Of course, of course, of course, Kristen is Maggie and Tracker is Nina, though we obviously don't meet them until later. Kristen's lack of ability to ask Tracker out is fueled by her religious upbringing, and Tracker... up until Kristen, her luck with the ladies hasn't been great. It'll definitely take divine and/or infernal intervention to get these two to finally fess up---of course, unless it goes horribly wrong.

Fabian's Adam, because... honestly, I dunno, he'd be a great Antichrist, and this way the Hangman can be Dog. Gorgug, Ostentatia, and Zelda are the other members of the Them, with Ragh being the guy who bugs them occasionally (and is actually the third kid in the Antichrist swap, mentioned in the book), and Warlock is... you know what? Zayn is Warlock, let's go with that.

As for Gabriel and Beelzebub... I think I might make them Penelope and Sam. I, personally, ship Aelwyn with Sam, but I really don't think her energy is "Gabriel" enough.

Aaaaaaaaand... yeah, Penny can be Muriel. She's got the heart for it.

i have been thinking So much about a fh avatar au recently so. i am going to talk about it

set sometime between the last avatar and legend of korra; taking place in republic city, but during avatar aang's lifetime, somewhere between 120-150 AG.

riz is a nonbender of earth heritage, fascinated by republic city's new and exciting metalbending cops (until he realizes that, while metalbending is dope, cops are not). uses a slingshot for a weapon.

gorgug is an earthbender, adopted & raised by two nonbenders in the republic (digby is earth ancestry, wilma fire). later he learns to metalbend (partially inspired by his parents' engineering work and partially by riz's enthusiasm).

fabian is a nonbender originally from kyoshi, but who spent a good deal of his childhood on sailing ships with his papa. his mother hails from the northern water tribe but she left with the swashbuckling earthen pirate bill when she was a young woman. he's skilled in swordfighting.

adaine is a waterbender, along with the rest of her family. they're northern water tribe nobles who move to republic city after angwyn is appointed ambassador. she hasn't been allowed to formally study waterbending as a martial art and sucks at healing, so she learns a lot of her bending by getting into scraps around town.

kristen comes from a family of nonbenders of earth heritage. they're pretty traditional and don't much like the idea of other nations' cultures, or bending at all, though kristen is more than eager to interact with the diverse kinds of kids found only in the republic. very useful at first aid, and likely becomes an air acolyte later in life.

fig faeth thought she was a nonbending kid of two earth folks (nonbending gilear and earthbending sandralynn), but discovered she could bend fire when she was 13. the revelation really hurt her sense of self (not to mention her parents' marriage) for a while until she began to train in her bending and find a group of fellow misfit bad kids to hang with.

at some point the gang all get together and get up to trouble around town as bad kids do. adaine, gorgug, and fig all lack traditional training in their respective bending styles, so they learn a lot and blend techniques from each other. eventually they form something of an amateur street pro bending team together, when the sport is still very new.

some side characters/npcs: johnny spells & his gang are firebending thugs much like the triple threats; the o'shaughnessys are southern tribe, tracker is a waterbender and healer; zelda is a nonbender, fights with dual swords; ayda is a bender from the fire nation; ragh is an earthbender; aelwyn is a waterbender like her sister and uses a lot of ice in her technique.

Every point you made is absolutely correct. Also, I'm greatly enjoying the concept that there is one (1) moment when Jace does something that actually impresses Fabian. It's when they leave all the cities and they're out in the wilderness, and Jace is dying for some caffeine and he knows everyone else probably is too so he conjures a bunch of cortados out of thin air. And Fabian is like "Ah! Excellent! See, this is why we brought you!"

Which just pisses Jace off more, that that's the thing he did that this kid appreciates, that he's now seen as just a walking drinks vendor.

Going back up to the earlier reblog now I've gotten the thought of an absolutely livid Jace ranting to a very bored Porter out of my head.

I think it's very on brand for Adaine to resist the stuff he's saying, which is unfortunate because a lot of what Jace teaches his sorcery students (esp the Wild Magic lot) could probably help a lot with anxiety. Like there's a lot of emotional regulation and self-soothing and getting better at noticing what's going on within your body so you can notice symptoms before they flare up into a full blown attack.

Jace's response to Ayda visibly not liking him is to get even more chill and nice (so, even more fake), which probably confuses Ayda more, like 'I have told this man to his face that I do not trust or like him, why is he still here and why is he still smiling?'

Jace gives Gorgug so much praise and thanks for getting the satellite working, like there's just a sweet moment between them where they're both bonding over their partners being so far away and how hard it is, and how relieved they both are that they can finally speak to them again. I think Gorgug is kind of awkward at first about Jace mentioning Porter, like he's scared he'll offend Jace if he clocks onto the fact that Gorgug doesn't really like Porter. But when Gorgug does finally say something, Jace replies like "I really don't blame you. I mean, I love the man, but that doesn't mean I approve of the way he teaches." (It turns out that Bitching About Porter is one of Jace's favourite passtimes and he and Gorgug just get into it. "And he's so fucking creepy!" "So creepy! It's just a constant villain monologue, from the moment he wakes up!")

On the other NPCs, I think he and Sandra Lynn find some common ground, despite the antagonism that came from competing over Garthy. They're both aware that they probably wouldn't be friends outside of this forced interaction, but while they're here they can share a drink and swap wild stories whenever they're on watch together.

Jace hates Gilear, but Gilear is convinced that Jace is actually a very good friend. Which doesn't help the Gilear 2.0 allegations, when Gilear is so buddy-buddy with him.

Jace manages to convince Ragh that the invisible person that Ragh saw him speaking to on the night of the Prompocalypse was Eugenia Shadow. (He doesn't say her name, just calls her the rogue teacher, and explains that she was invisible because of the whole catch-me-if-you-can thing, which Riz confirms is legit.)

Jace quietly high-key relates to Tracker's struggle of putting way more into the relationship than she's getting back, but he keeps that shit to himself.

Jace would be fascinated by Cathilda and low-key convinced she's some kind of spy or double agent, because he can't fathom how someone with so much skill would just be content with being someone's maid. But then they chat (maybe while Jace subtly has Detect Thoughts going) and he realises like 'oh, this isn't a front, she genuinely is as happy as I pretend to be.'

Also, please consider the hilarity of Jace watching Arthur Aguefort GROW TO 500 FEET TALL AND GRAB THE SUN. His first two thoughts are just 'I'm so glad Porter isn't here because he would spend the next week demanding to know why I can't let him do that' and 'oh there's just no way we can kill Aguefort. We just can't.'

Like he knew Aguefort was powerful, he didn't know he was GRAB THE SUN powerful.

Like. I’m living in this au now where the bad kids really did bring Jace in as a hireling for sophomore year. Guilt complex bc of Porter’s Plan is always in the back of his mind, meanwhile guy who has never had responsibilities in his life has to herd the bad kids like cats. He feels terrible the whole time bc adaine actually does kinda connect w him abt their parents being elven assholes who had incredibly high expectations. She somehow finds out abt him failing to wizard multiclass and bc she is adaine she is very ruthless abt giving him a hard time abt it, but in a way that’s actually… kinda affectionate. But she also kinda gets it bc Fig has always been naturally good at everything she tries but she’s not the most studious. And hey, fig is great. Fabian experiences a real genuine failure for like the first time after years of being told he was destined for greatness and Jace is like. I’m in this fucking picture. I don’t like it.

-a half-elf who wooed a fire elemental, wields the sword of elven kings and ended toxic masculinity with the power of dance

- a gold hearted boy who isn’t afraid to got ape shit for his friends, who managed to figure out cell service in the nightmare kings forest, who was the first to break free of the nightmare kings forest, who is a rockstar as well (and the greatest wizard of their age)

The boat rocked underneath her talons as Ayda crouched to grab the books on the lower shelf of the bookcase.

“Divination.” She said out loud to herself, “Important.”

She’d set those aside to read while traveling back to Elmville with Fig and Adaine and all the others.

Elmville where her father lived.

Ayda paused briefly in her packing, books in hand.

Would she be expected to talk to him? Fig might know, Fig knew a lot and she had said she had “daddy issues” as well. Maybe Elmville would have the cave they’d need to go into to confront this issue. Or they could find a cave along the way. The cave seemed important.

“Ayda?” A voice calling out shook her out of her mind.

She blinked and turned to see Fabian standing in front of her with his hands shoved into the pockets of the letterman jacket that he’d taken to wearing again. Adaine had told her that him wearing that again was important.

A lot of things were important.

Ayda was still working on what.

“Did you need something?” Ayda asked, tilting her head at Fabian in question.

“Ah- yes.” Fabian straightened up. “I was wondering if I could use your sending spell.”

“That is-”

“A hundred fifty gold pieces.” Fabian cut her off with a - amused?-  smile. “I know.”

“Is…is that usual? That is a fair price. The pirates here have told me I need a fair price.”

Fabian snorted, “Pirates are like that. I would know.”

“Fabian Aramais Seacaster, son of Bill Seacaster.” Ayda recited.

“And Hallariel Seacaster.” Fabian added on quickly. “I’m still trying to learn how to be the second part.”

“You wish to learn something!” The search for knowledge Ayda knew well. Questions always needed answers. Like how often was one allowed a sleepover? And on what planar system did divination practices begin? And would her father acknowledge her presence in Elmville?

“Ayda?” Fabian called out her name again; he was peering at her with a frown.

“Your father,” Ayda began, “He cared for you, yes? That is what fathers do?”

“Papa? Yes, of course!” Fabian said but then his frown deepened. “He…wasn’t always the best at showing it but I knew Papa cared. He just had…” Fabian pulled a hand out of the pockets of the letterman and scrubbed it over his face. Exhaustion, Ayda’s brain provided. She’d seen Adaine do the same. Fabian continued, “He had a lot of expectations for me.”

“And…this is what fathers do?” Ayda asked, confused.

Fabian shrugged. “I may not be the best to ask what fathers do, have you seen us? We all have daddy issues. Last year Gorgug went around asking every adult we met if they were his dad.”

Ayda nodded, “If the greatest wizard of our time must ask then it is a question worth asking.”

“Greatest wiz-” Fabian began to laugh. “I suppose he did fix the Hangman. You may be on to something there.”

A theory proven then. Ayda felt warm with the pleasant feeling of having solved something.

“Look,” Fabian sighed. “Fathers are…tricky. Parents are tricky; I only just got my mother to start acting like one.”

“The Halfling who makes cookies? She was not a mother before?”

“Well. In a way Cathilda is my mother but I mean my birth mother. It’s this whole thing, she just wasn’t there for years and now she is and Cathilda is amazing of course. Wait what were talking about?” Now Fabian looked confused. “Nevermind.” He brushed the thought aside with a wave, something so simple Ayda was envious. “I just mean to say none of us are experts. You aren’t alone there.”

“I have Fig and Adaine. By transitive properties…I also have you?” Ayda guessed, hating that she wasn’t certain. Emotions were tricky to navigate. She needed to find that cave sooner rather than later.

“And Gorgug. And Riz. And Kristen.” Fabian ticked them off one by one on his fingers. “Ragh too. Oh and Tracker, we do all have parental issues. Hm.” Fabian cleared his throat. “Listen, Ayda, I’m not good…with this whole…expressing feelings thing. I’ve been getting better the last few days, Spring Break has helped-”

“Ah.” Ayda said in understanding finally. “You also need the cave.”

“I need what? No- Maybe? Do I need a cave?”

“Fig said we could search one to find some emotions.”

Fabian opened his mouth and then shut it with a click.

“Is that…not what you do?”

Fabian shrugged. “I suppose we could. It couldn’t hurt.”

“Excellent. Then we shall find this cave.”

He smiled then, the same way Fig and Adaine did when they talked to her.

“What is that?” Ayda asked. “You smiled.”

“Well, yes.” Fabian was still smiling.

“Why?”

“Ah, it’s-um.” Fabian shuffled on his feet. Embarrassment? Did one smile when they were embarrassed? “You smile with friends, when they say something or do something and you just can’t help it. Because you’re fond of them.” Fabian ran a hand through his hair, shielding his face from view.

“Fondness is good then.”

He dropped his hand. “Yes. Adaine really would be much better at explaining this.”

“I will make a note to ask Adaine.” Ayda nodded, filing that fact away.

“Just don’t mention me.”

“Why not?”

“Uh-it’s.” Fabian twitched again, “A favour. Between friends.” He made a face. “I did say I’m not very good at this- oh no I sound like Fig.”

“Sounding like Fig is a good thing.”

“Well.” Fabian sighed. “Just this once maybe. So long as it doesn’t lead to me hitting on older men.”

“That is not a good thing?”

“Ask Adaine to explain this too.” Fabian’s voice sounded strained.

“Adaine can explain much.” Ayda said, there was a warmth in her at the thought. Adaine her first friend, her best friend which also in turn lead to Fig her best friend. Adaine who could explain much and talk to Ayda at length.

“Ah you did it.” Fabian was grinning now.

“I did it?” Ayda asked.

“You smiled.” Fabian said. “At the thought of your friends.”

“This is fondness.” Ayda noted. “Yes.” She pulled her wings in closer, comparing the warmth of them to the warmth from before. It wasn’t the same but still. “It is good.”

“You should tell them. They’d be delighted.”

“I shall tell Adaine and Fig I am fond of them.” Ayda agreed.  

“Considering you’re about to move in with them in Elmville I’d say that’s a good thing.” Fabian tilted his head just then, his eyes glazing over a bit. “Yes, yes, Hangman, you can ask Gorgug for more motorcycle polish, just not too much you know how you get.” He muttered. Then he fixed his gaze back on Ayda. “If…if things do not work out for you at Mordred Manor…Seacaster Manor will always have a place for you. It might even be familiar with it being a ship and all.”

“You are offering me your home.” Ayda stated.

“A place in it, yes.” Fabian was no longer looking at her, instead his eye roamed over the bookshelves overhead.

“What is the fair price for it?”

“Ah-no. No price.”

“A pirate needs a fair price.”

Fabian’s smile was different- perhaps sad? – “I suppose I’m not a very good pirate then.”

Ayda tilted her head. “You will be the best pirate of our time.” She said, looking Fabian up and down, with the same certainty she had when talking to Gorgug. Of this theory she would be proven correct.

“I will?” Fabian asked, his mouth agape.

“You will.” Ayda nodded. Pirates measured everything in wealth. Fabian was wealthy in his friends; she had seen how much they cared. It was merely a calculation.

The smile this time was fond again.

“Now. You need my sending spell?” Ayda asked.

“Ah, yes!” Fabian said, “I need to ask Cathilda where my spare kippers are, Kristen keeps throwing my tins away and claiming they’re tributes to Yes?”

“Kippers are important?”

“Kippers are very important.” Fabian said, nodding.

Another thing of importance.

Eventually she’d learn them all.

Fabian

Fandrangor stats: +2 to attack and damage. Finesse, one handed. 1d8 piercing. Burn a spell slot on a sucessful hit to add an extra d6 of damage per level.

Wrapped Alistair's foot in his sheet to trip and flip him up before deeply stabbing him in the abdomen

Held his sheet out to further protect Adaine.

Slashed Dayne with a reposte (while also burning a 1st level spell slot on his sword) as he yelled "Toxic masculinity is dead! I dance now!"

Closed in on Penelope using an athletics check that involved jumping and running across the deck. His mobile flourish pushed her to the edge of the deck before he kicked her off the ship.

Took out Alistair and Penelope (details in their section)

Stood at the helm after Bill fell off, turning the ship over due to the gravity being off

Riz

Hissed at Vraz

Got so sweaty and nervous over a terrible line ("You attacked the wrong guy!") that he missed the greesers

Shot Dayne from hiding while saying "You missed spring break" before hiding again (Fabian responding "Classic The Ball. Always shooting from hiding").

Had no clue where his father actually was, telling Bill the little thathe knew.

Got sleepy while he was hiding

Was shot out of the cannon and blasted off into the city (taking some damage). Shouted "I'm the ball!" as he flew away before smashing through a dark red and black stained glass window 200 feet below the ship, tumbling into a strangly familiar building. The room was empty due to all the devils hearing the alarms and fleeing. He rushed down a familar dark hallway.

Witnessed his father being tortured and saying that he didn't care about his son, but still misty steped into the room with the unconscious Pok the minute the devils left.

Tried to scoop his dad up into his Briefcase of Holding, but the two barbed devils came back (snarling as they saw him), one grabbing his briefcase and the other grappling Riz to restrain him. He kept trying to save Pok anyway even while restrained and fought against the devils over his briefcase (see Pok area for more)

Kristen

Rolled up sleeves over Daybreak attacking Tracker

Walked up to Daybreak with anger in her veins (over him hurting Tracker), said "Hi Daybreak. It's so great to see you. I've been PRAYING FOR YOU!", and slammed her staff down, using distructive wave. Light radiated out of her as every enemy was hit but Penelope (due to Globe of Invulnerability) and Johnny Spells and took out 3 Scarecrows. She then spat on Daybreak which hisses on his cheek as he yelled "Ah! Love! Love wins!"

Was knocked out by Daybreak and was back in Silvar looking at a nice tree

Used a 4th level mass healing word before her and Tracker dimension doored away from Daybreak

Adaine

Arcane Hand works like a claw machine with a controler in her hands

While prone, shot a lightning bolt at Dayne, Penelope, and a Scarecrow (after counterspelling Penelope's counterspell). Took out the Scarecrow.

Hit Daybreak with a 4th level Cromatic Orb (cold damage).

Smacked Johnny's fire spell out of the air with a counterspell after calling him "a predator who didn't fuck" and then ignored Johnny completely to go after Daybreak by hitting him with a 4th level (cold) chromatic orb

Used Forceful Hand to grab Bill to keep him from falling (two of the devils stayed grapped to Bill)

Fig

Tried to shake Gilear awake

Fig The Unfaethable

Her insignia burned in her head when she used psionic blast (took out two Scarecrows)

Winked at Ayda

Used Healing Word on Kristen

Attacked Daybreak with Bombing Blade (adds bardic for extra and if he moves willinging before her next turn he takes thunder damage)

Was tossed by Gorgug towards a plummeting Bill like a missile before backpacked onto Bill, snatching a scroll from Vraz's pocket (Vraz: No no no no no! / Bill: What's yours is ours.), and Dimension Dooring back to the ship with Bill.

Gorgug

Stood over Kristen's unconscious body to protect her

Used Reckless Attack twice on Daybreak, the first time dealing 50 damage and the second time ("I'm just so tired of you") another 48 damage.

Took out Dayne (details in his section) and two Scarecrows

Grabbed some holy oil to take with him to coat his weapon with.

Boggy: Hit by Penelope's Cone of Cold which caused him to freeze, crack, and fall apart (can be brought back by Adaine)

Gaf: Made incorporial by Ayda to protect him/her/them during the battle

Baby: Was made invisible by Fig. Tried to pickpocket Vraz, but just got a scrap of some kind. Did a very indecent celebration dance while invisible (when Penelope was "killed").

Hangman: Freaked out over seeing Johnny before siding with Fabian. Leapt to attack Johnny Spells, but couldn't make it and settled for slamming into the greeser Sorching Ray. Frozen and knocked down by Penelope's Cone of Cold.

Hirelings and Partners

Tracker

Stayed behind on Goldenrod

Held up a hand with her holy symbol to summon Twilight Sanctuary (gives everyone a d8 of temp hit which they can choose to replace or keep each round).

Cast Beacon of Hope

Knocked out by Penelope's Cone of Cold (which also ended her two spells)

Hit Kristen with a max level cure wounds, yeling at everyone to look away as she jumped onto an unconscious Kristen who was lying between Gorgug's legs (Kristen started touching his leg thinking it's Tracker's). Everyone assumed they were 69ing, but Tracker actually just gave Kristen a very sweet kiss on the mouth and said "Double clerics baby. Nobody can keep us down for long."

Went into flying wolf form to catch Kristen when she fell off the ship.

Ragh

Took out two Scarecrows, goring one before tossed them the ship and spartan kicking the other off the deck.

Ran up to a prone Dayne chanting hoot growl and yelled "I've done a lot of shit in my life because of you asshole!" as he bodied into him (nat 20).

Walked up to Fabian and Gorgug crying after Dayne was killed.

Instigated a three way chest bump with Fabian and Gorgug, not noticing Adaine who was forced to duck ("Oh god! The jocks are being fiesty!")

Was yelled at by Daybreak which he used as an opportunity to confront Daybreak both verbally and physically.

Ayda

Cast a spell that poured out massive amounts of water over Avernus in an attempt to flood hell (in retaliation for them taking Fig) before checking on Fig

Touched both of Fig's arms as she checked if she was okay before casting Protection From Evil And Good on her.

Flew off Goldenrod to help Sandra Lynn protect the ship from incoming fire by throwing up abjurative wards, but came back and landed on the deck before the ship left Avernus.

Flew towards Daybreak and Penelope, teleporting multiple times per second to create a flickering group of 10 of her before slashing out with her talons to damage them both.

Cast clairvoyance to find Riz, pointing at the building he was in.

Used her portent to save Fabian when Goldenrod lost gravity (allowing him to hold on) before flying to catch Adaine.

Sandra Lynn

Left the Goldenrod to cover their tail, doing a swan dive off deck (which looked likes she flew up from the upside down deck) and landing on Baxter before knocking a teleportation missile out of sky with her arrow.

Smashed back down onto the deck with Baxter before healing a down Tracker (Kristen: Thank you Sandra Lynn!)

Hit Daybreak with arrows.

Jumped on Baxter when the ship lost gravity and went to help catch Kristen.

Gilear

Was immediately killed by Bill Seacaster who shot him in the chest.

Brought back by Kristen with 1 hp, a bleeding chest wound, and covered in cenders and fire

Was told by Gorgug (who stood in front of him) to lie on the ground

Hid in the golden sarcophagus (somehow lifting the massive lid to do so)

The Pirates

The Goldenrod

The still "living" transmogrified body of Kalvaxus turned into a flying ship against his will

Kalvaxus has to swallow down the cannon coming from his mouth to talk and turning always hurts him

Shot by Bill for calling himself a boat instead of a ship

Captained by Bill Seacaster, crewed by cender zombie pirates, and the flagship of Bill's rebel armada of dragon carcus ships

The ship has it's own gravity and can sail in any direction (including upside down), but the unsecured barrels on deck are a hazard during fast turns.

Able to breached through to Dis, Bill having some way to travel through the levels that the other devils couldn't find

Broadsided The Iron City, firing tons of gold, holy water, and saints finger bones wrapped in old parchment out of it's cannons.

Captain Bill Seacaster

An enormous devil with one cender eye, a devil bone hook, and a floating skull and crossbones insignia over his head

At the helm of Goldenrod after rescuing Riz, Fig, Gilear, Hangman, and Baby/Wretchrot (via being yanked up on rope ladders to the Goldenrod).

Part of his multi level marketing scheme was to have pirates steal holy relics for spell slots and then use the holy relics as ammo against other devils and their ships.

Shot Gilear throught the chest on sight

Got a chain wrapped around his neck by Kystrona

After Gilear was brought back to life by Kristen, he said nice things to Gilear and gave him a massive glowing sword (which was too big for Gilear to wield). The bad kids were all deeply confused by how quickly he went from one extreme to another.

Offered Kristen snuff powder

Ordered his crew to shoot Riz out of a cannon to "help" him look for Pok

As his hook hand was stabbing into one of the three devils he was fighting, he took a legendary action to shake his fist and yell "That's my darling boy!" over Fabian "killing" Penelope. He corrected himself to yell "He's his own his darling man boy!"

When the gravity on the Goldenrod was dispelled, he told Fabian to take the helm before letting go on purpose, taking the three other devils with him (rescued by Adaine and Fig).

Alistair Ash

An intern on the Goldenrod

Skull is cracked open like an egg with part of it fully missing. Inside the socket is roiling fire. His eyes are rotted out, the fire shining through his sockets.

Attacked Fabian exclusively due to being left behind by him

How he was finished off: Fabian stood up, his body very bloody and burned from the beating he's took. Fire enshrouded his sheet as he wrapped Alistair in it in order to spin him like a top. As Alistair twirled in the air, the Hangman hit him in a flash. As Alistair popped of the wheel of the Hangman, Fabian took out Fandrangor (which was rippling with his own inner light and magic) and pierced Alistair's ribcage up through his heart. Silver motes of light burst out of Alistair's mouth, "eyes", and the empty socket of his skull. Bill cried a single tear out of his non ember eye as he said "It be beau-ti-ful". Fabian told his father "I'm my own man now." to which Bill answered "The story keeps getting better!" Meanwhile, Alistair changed his opinion on Fabian, seeing him as chosen one and (since he had to die for Fabian to become who he was) himself as chosen in a way. Fabian asked if Chungle Down Bim was still alive, but Alistair only yelled "He's gonna shit in your mouth!" before being destroyed. One of the many bottles on Bill's belt filled with a red mist that was Alistair, now even more in debt to Bill with another 2000 gold added to his tab to bring him back in another form later.

Cinder Pirates

The crew of the Goldenrod, most (if not all) of which being victims of Bill's pyramid scheme

Assended from ropes to their respective ships after raiding The Bottomless Pit, yoinking up crates and boxes filled with treasure (like books and weaponry) as they went.

Loaded the cannons of The Goldenrod with holy relics, books, golden reliquaries, holy water, and even the body of a dead saint (who was unceremoniously dumped out of his golden sarcophagus). All the relics almost looked like they were from other worlds.

Bill doesn't do the best job putting his followers back together, so most are in worse shape than Alistair. One was missing his entire jaw!

Most were finished off by Penelope's Cone of Cold

Bill's Pursuers

Devil Crafts

Iron zeppelins piloted by devils in pursuit of Seacaster.

Shoot ground to air missiles that shot spinning pentagrams of fire teleportation that glowed when they hit, teleporting in reinforcements.

Vraz The Mean, Lorzug The Impaled, and Kystrona The Chained

All appeared through a dimension door at the helm of the ship before the three devils began fighting Bill.

Vraz (after Fig denied a direct order) released all warlocks under Gortholax by making all his contracts null and void.

All of them (including Bill) do tramendous amounts of fire and poison damage, but all of them (including Bill) are immune to fire and poison, so the fight devolved into a bunch of very dangerous people who can't hurt each other just slapping the hell out of each other.

Johnny Spells

Appeared via teleportation missile with his crew

Roiling in flame with veins glowing in a red light, using a snap comb to brush his hair back and wearing a black leather jacket with a clean white tee.

Hit Fabian with Ray of Fire and then was IMMEDIATELY tossed off the starboard side of the ship by Adaine using her Arcane Hand.

Was saved by Kystrona (via animate chain) before he fell to his "death"

Spent an entire turn to get back on the ship only to have his fire spell dismissed by Adaine.

How he was finished off: Flew off the ship (again) when it lost gravity, saying "No! I had stuff. I had plans. I had-" as he fell to his "death".

Johnny's Crew

Six teiflings greasers who appeared via teleportation missile wearing black leather jackets with clean white tees.

Two trampled over a dead Gilear to get to the teens.

How they were finished off: One was gored by Ragh before being tossed off the ship, one was spartan kicked off the deck by Ragh, two were killed by Gorgug, and two were destroyed by Fig's psionic blast

Harvestmen & Friends

Penelope Everpetal

Got to Goldenrod via teleportation missile with Dayne, Daybreak, and four Scarecrow Harvestmen.

Had sunken deep pools of darkness for eyes. She wore a burnt prom queen dress. Jagged shards of metal were stabbed into her skull like a crown (which caused blood to trickle down).

Was protected from magic most of the fight due to casting Globe Of Invulnerability

Stepped forward with a corny line ("Oh I'm so sorry guys. It's time to chill out.") before casting Cone of Cold which took out Tracker, Boggy, Hangman, and most of Bill's crew.

Was knocked off the ship by Fabian and fell down into the sky over the Iron City of Dis, shreaking and wailing as she went. Saved herself by using Misty Step to get back to the ship.

How she was finished off...

Penelope: *appeared in a twirl of magic and hit Fabian with a Firebolt, knocking him down to 4HP* I'm so sorry that you had like... some sort of collapse and appear to be fighting with a blanket now, but I just wanna tell you something. We are gonna drag you and all your shitty stupid little- what? Bad kid friends to hell. Forever.

Fig: I actually already live here. I'm an arch devil.

Fabian: Yeah! Did you hear that? She already lives here!

Kalvaxus: Again if we [re con noise] it later. This fight seems mostly lost. Use reason!

Penelope: Now. It's time for you to go bye bye Fabian *starts casting another spell*

Fabian: (crit, mobile florish, plus 2nd level spell slot with Fandrangor) *throws up his sheet so it blocks her field of vision (like how people trick their pets) and then grabs her and tango swing dancing spins her off the ship as she yells and is destroyed as motes of silver light shoot out*

Dayne Blade

Burning ember flaming vains with a hellish gleam to his eyes

Doesn't know how long he's been there

How he was finished: Begged Gorgug to not "kill" him due to him being an Owlbear, but was ignored. He tried once more, saying "Dude dude dude we're both Owlbears!" but Gorgug simply answered "You're not an Owlbear anymore" before he chopped off Dayne head. Gorgug then pretended his head was a ball and that he was going for a pass.

Coach Daybreak

Burning ember flaming vains with a hellish gleam to his eyes, a whistle, a silvered halberd, and regenerating health

Aggressively targeted Tracker and Kristen (even as Gorgug literally stood over Kristen) and knocked Kristen out at one point

Yelled "No!" while flames shot out of his ears at the thought of ending toxic masculinity

Freaked out over Gorgug being an Owlbrear

Not a true devil, just a soul trapped in hell that was powerful enough in life to fight for the devils, punished to never understand why he was there (Brennan "He cannot find peace, but he can find you").

How he was finished: Daybreak shouted "I'm gonna kill you all. All of you deserve to be here, not me. I was a holy man! *points to Fig* YOU ARE A LITERAL ARCH DEVIL!" Fig answered "Yeah bitch it's fun!" before she used a 4th level psionic blast on him. He screamed as he was knocked off the ship and eviscerated by both Fig's psionic blast and the after effects of her booming blade* (Fig also steals his visage)

Scarecrow Men

The transfigured bodies of four former harvestmen who died

Burnt charred skin, flannel button up shirts, and heads of burlap sacks with scarcrow eyes, which were slightly aflame

How they were finished off: one was killed by Adaine's lightning bolt and the other three were gone in a flash of light by Kristen's destructive wave

Dis and Pok

Iron City of Dis

Choking smoke and freezing rain

Endless sprawling cast iron metropolis of dread, misery, and torture

Alarms (clacksaws I think Brennan said?) rang as the devils shouted "It's Seacaster!"

The city was lit up by Goldenrod (while the other ships in the armada caught up)

Building Holding Pok

At least one dark red and black stained glass window (which Riz crashed through). The room within was empty due to all the devils hearing the alarms and fleeing.

Dark hallway leading to a light coming out from under a closed doorway. A slightly ajar door was next to it and a possible third door with steal thrones was next to that. The slightly ajar door had a somewhat reflective marble wall (where a reflection of Pok could be seen from the hall) and a two way mirror that showed an interrogation room.

Pok

A goblin who was strapped to a chair and had a swolen eye. A pit fiend also splashed acid in his face

Was interrogated by a pit fiend flanked by two barbed devils

Kept a good poker face around the devils, at one point was snarling and growling as he had (what appeared to be) a goblinoid frenzy come over him

Was lacerated by barbed whips handled by the barbed devils until he collapsed, asking why he was there as he coughed up blood and appeared to go unconscious.

Shot both barbed devils in the head with his gun (which he picked off of Riz) as they were restraining Riz

Reached up and slapped his right ear to call for an extraction as a halo appeared behind his head. He reached out to grab Riz (Kid, I can't believe you made it here) before a beam of celestial light smashed through the ceiling. He confirmed that he was an undercover angel before raising his fist up in a superman pose as the beam made a loud sound and took the pair away.

Questions and Thoughts

How does Lorzug move, much less fight?

Fig shouldn't have told Vraz to eat her ass. She might have taken her up on it and tried to take a bite out of her ass. O_O

What IS a potentate?

How will Fig use her warlock abilities after being released? Was her insignia burning in her forehead how she's still able to do it?

Is Dayne's curse to never know how long he's been there?

How short is Adaine that our three Owlbears (all over 6 feet tall) didn't notice her when they went in for a three way chest bump?

Destructive Wave is the power of pissed off protective girlfriend energy.

When Kristen was knocked out, she was back in Silvar looking at a nice tree. Possible connection to the unknown goddess?

Adaine still has Johnny's warlock switchblade comb.

Will we get updated Pok art now?

Where is Riz now and how will he get back in time? Was this Kalina's plan all along (blow Pok's cover and delay the party longer to give them more of a lead)?

I am well aware that I spelled Alistair several different ways because I have no clue how to spell it and don't have it on my list of how I might spell it.

Please somebody teach Bill how to not suck at making bodies. I mean, I'm over here feeling sorry for those cinder zombies and between the crippling debt and unpaid internships, he could at LEAST give them working bodies with jaws and stuff.

Really paying attention made the 69 scene so much funnier and makes Ayda's confusion over it being a sex act so much more priceless. The couple was fully clothed, Kristen caressed Gorgug's leg while she was unconscious and being healed by Tracker, and (according to Brennan) Tracker just gave Kristen a sweet kiss. Part of me wonders if Tracker was messing with the group while Kristen came to thinking something dirty happened and just went with it, the other teens too inexperienced to know otherwise (save Ayda who must be so confused! XD).

The uselessness of Johnny Spells was one of my favorite parts of the stream.

Anybody else super happy Bill was so supportive of Fabian coming into his own, being supportive of his friends, and embracing dance?

Bill/Vraz. Nuff said.

Omg thank you both so much for asking about what was totally supposed to be a joke post! That being said you are going to regret it because I have a lot of feelings and this is going to be looooong.

Before I start I want to shout out @riz-gukgak for posting their aro Fantasy High headcanons for aro awareness week which are all great and introduced me to the hc that Gorgug’s parents are queerplatonic partners, and also the fic ‘just shut up and drive’ by meathermac on Ao3 which features ace Zelda! If anyone knows their tumblr let me know and I’ll tag them. (Also read it, it’s great!)

So to begin, I think there’s a lot of justification in canon for Zelda and Gorgug being ace or on the ace spectrum, and particularly Gorgug by virtue of him being a PC and us spending more time with him. The recurring gag of the binder/his parents explaining sex acts in a lot of detail to him are obviously very funny, but I’ve been doing a rewatch recently and it struck me that he never really seems into it? Like he always just seems confused or is like ‘huh, that’s interesting, I guess,’ but without any emotional attachment to it. It reminded me of how I reacted to the (limited, lol Catholic school) sex education I got - it was something that was interesting but I analysed it in an academic way rather than connecting it to myself, if you get what I mean. Probably it’s a comedic choice on Zac’s part but also in the context of the show I feel like him being ace makes sense.

As well, Zelda and Gorgug are such a contrast to the other teenage couples on Fantasy High. At first it was just Tracker and Kristen fucking all the time, which is fine and they’re a very different couple to Gorgug and Zelda, but this week we saw Ayda explicitly telling Fig she finds her erotic as well as them previously making out for a really long time (and of course the iconic Fig hot tub situation). We also have had Ragh hooking up with Fethethriel (? idk how to spell it) and other teen characters like Skrank canonically fucking a lot of people. As far as I remember the only thing we’ve seen Gorgug and Zelda do is kiss, and even that only a couple of times. They’ve been together for over a year and not done anything more - I get taking it slow or whatever, but that’s also a good justification for them to be ace!

As for specific headcanons, yes I think both of them are bi/pan-romantic. Zelda I feel like is demi-romantic also, and maybe thought she was aromantic for a while before having one of those really intense crushes on one of her friends in middle school and being like ‘oh no.’ I think when she and Gorgug were first hanging out she explained all this to him and when they officially Started Dating was like ‘we will have to take things really slowly before I’m comfortable.’ And Gorgug, being Gorgug, was like of course! And then as time goes on and on and they still haven’t done anything sexual, Gorgug realises he doesn’t really mind? If they never do anything at all? Gorgug mentions this to Adaine (who is for sure aroace) one day and she’s just like, ‘dude, you’re ace,’ and he’s like ‘oh, okay, makes sense!’ He and Zelda talk, and she realises she doesn’t mind either since she’s probably grey-ace/sex-neutral too so it works for them!

Also, I feel like Gorgug’s parents would feel absolutely terrible when he tells them - in my mind they’re like overcompensating for not being a “normal” couple by aggressively teaching Gorgug all about sex and relationships, but they just like. Forgot. That maybe he wouldn’t want a “normal” relationship either? They end up doing a bunch of research and make a new binder full of ace/aro terms to go through with Zelda and Gorgug and it’s just very sweet.

This has gotten ridiculously long but to finish, yes also to poly things (also in meathermac’s fic!) I feel like Gorgug and Ragh are queerplatonic partners/bros who make out sometimes, and Zelda has a similar relationship with someone from the seven maidens so it works out. However, they’re each other’s primary partners and their relationship is the only explicitly romantic one. 

TLDR; pan/demi-romantic/grey-ace Zelda and pan-romantic asexual Gorgug!

Aight, y'all voted for Derry Girls, so I'll give you Derry Girls. Fitting, given what today is...

So, obviously, given that there are six Bad Kids and only five Derry Girls (well, four and a wee English fella, but he's a Derry Girl at heart), I can't perfectly slot everyone into a set role. However, I can pick out similar vibes and go off of canon dynamics, so in the end, it's not as hard as it looks to figure out where everyone's set!

Adaine is kind of in the "Erin" role, in that she's a girl with big dreams and a big imagination who seems like a know-it-all sometimes, but who really just wants to fit in. She and Aelwyn have just been able to move out and ditch their shitty parents, and they're both currently living in a very cramped house with Jawbone, Sandralynn, Fig, and Tracker---Kristen moving out is something that happens later in the story.

Kristen has both "Orla" and "Claire" traits---she's the one who's either not aware of how weird she is, or has decided to embrace it, but she's also someone who's still very much figuring out who she is... and not to mention, she starts out the story in a gigantic closet. After she does come out, though, she gets the courage to follow in Adaine's footsteps and ditch her toxic family---simultaneously becoming a lot more chaotic and a lot more confident.

Fig is kind of the "Michelle" of the group in a sense, as she's fully in her rebellious punk phase and is the one who's usually the instigator in whatever crazy shenanigans they all get into. She's openly and proudly bisexual and has cussed out people who say that there's no such thing... and, yeah, that means that she's Kristen's role model at first. And she just so happens to have a new stepbrother...

Fabian is "James," if James was too confident and self-assured instead of one of the most insecure sweethearts you'd ever meet. He's Fig's new English stepbrother, he's incredibly rich, and both of those things mean that literally everyone clowns on him. His pretentious nature does also mean that he gets some Erin-esque traits and moments, which are always a delight to see. (Maybe he has a crush on Adaine? I don't know, we'll have to see.)

Riz has both "Claire" and "James" traits, as he is the extremely nerdy and extremely overworked kid who is constantly trying to keep everyone else in line. None of the others actively make fun of him for this, though it's very rare that they listen to him... or, well, when they do listen, they completely misinterpret everything he says. This is not helped by the fact that his mom is on the police force when the story starts, and they think that they can use that to get away with so much crazy stuff.

Gorgug was a bit harder, but I eventually settled on him being kind of an "Orla"-type character---he's there, he's willing to help, and he just wants to hang out with his friends. He's usually the person everyone goes to when they need to get away from their crazy families, and the fact that he's incredibly good with tech and mechanical stuff means that he's gotten a lot of them out of scrapes. They're also all a big fan of the fact that his parents are hippies. Gorgug is not.

Ayda's a library aide and journalism club member who's one of Adaine's closest friends and Fig's eventual crush, Ragh's a rugby player who comes out after Kristen does and becomes kind of an honorary member of their group, and, of course, Kipperlilly is a Jenny equivalent. Their school is still run by nuns, so Arthur Aguefort is just a kooky librarian... and I am seriously debating making Myrtle (from Pirates of Leviathan) Sister Micheal. She has those vibes.
