There's some overlap, I can definitely see why fans of one would be fans of the other. But ... everything you said, they are different kinds of characters with different motivations and goals.
If you want another FFXIV villain to compare Zoraal Ja to, it's Ilberd. Both of them are so full of passion for a specific thing (Ilberd for Ala Mhigo, Zoraal Ja for his own idealised concept of his father) that they self destruct and destroy the very thing they idolize in the proccess. Both Ilberd and Zoraal Ja are fuelled and destroyed by their own intense emotion.
the 'zoraal ja is the same as zenos' statements online ESP on twitter... i disagree with this notion LMAO 😋 zoraal ja actually desires conquest and destruction for his right to be ruler and is fueled by pent-up hatred and internalized pride. his suppressed emotions overwhelmed and blinded him, thus his motivation is fueled BY emotion! whereas zenos doesn't care in the slightest about his right to the throne, nor does he care about...much else. he is motivated for the desire TO feel emotion due to the ritualistic monotony of his stunted experimental upbringing. they hit slightly similar narrative beats surface-level wise but simply put...? not the same character. not even the same character archetypes, i would even say.

Rumi x Reader where Reader is a cursed deity that helps the hunters generations (through financially or become a manager once etc.) and finally meets Rumi after the defeat of the demon king. and Mira and Zoey are chaotic match makers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
◆ MAIN COURSE: Rumi x cursed diety!gn!Reader
◆ TYPE: SFW, romantic
◆ ALLERGEN WARNINGS: N/A
◆ NOTES: I LOVE RUMI SO BAD but also it's half 2 rn why did I stay awake to finish this bro........never letting anyone tell me I give up halfway in anything
Tumblr media
Man. You musta done something to get cursed to be a manager for eternity 😭 joke but not actually joke. I can't replace Bobby man.......therefore INTRODUCING 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 the A&R Manager role!!!!! This'll be one of the Only times my music diploma will Ever come in handy
For reference before getting into it (bare w me please let me ramble even though this'll never be mentioned about again), an A&R Manager kinda oversees a LOT of things. While a unit/artist manager like Bobby is mostly responsible for one/a few units at a time, an A&R manager's responsible for a HUGE range of things like scouting/signing/developing new talent, being a liaison for the artist and the label, overseeing the recording process, to even being aware of different trends and demographics so that they keep the popularity up with the label and its artists
Much as it is a role for them to be personally involved in basically everything, the fact that there's a lot to do most definitely makes it hard to really do so, which will explain why they wouldn't have really met each other this entire time until the defeat of the Gwi-Ma. Bc honestly let's be real there's no way HUNTR/X is the only unit in their label, just the most famous one........and the one trained to handle demon slaying lol
ANYWAY ONTO THE ACTUAL. THING
When Celine first came up to you about what the next generation of Hunters should be, you weren't necessarily surprised about her proposal that fully leaned into the flashfire that was K-Pop in the modern age. Once upon a time, it would've been more traditional forms of musical entertainment, but there's a reason why you were tasked to oversee 'trends' and such for the next generation to create the Golden Honmoon with.. and take on the world by storm, you supposed.
So seeing them for the first time?
..Yeah, this was definitely going to match up with the algorithm.
"Girls," you hear Celine introduce you as you bowed respectfully, "meet the A&R manager for DH Entertainment, several years your senior."
(An understatement, of course.)
Either way, you follow it up with a simple introduction at the same time as the trio bowed in reciprocation, "[L/N] [Y/N], a pleasure to meet the three of you. Former trainees now, yes?"
The one who piped up first was not only the shortest one, but was most likely the loudest one out of the three, "Yes!! We've been working so hard for this, so it feels like such a dream--"
"Right," you cut her off, though not unkindly, "though do remember that you're not just debuting as idols—you're debuting as Hunters, first and foremost. ..Though I doubt you three can debut without any names..?"
"Oh, oh!" The loud one piped up again with an endearingly playful energy, "So I'm Zoey, and the grumpy-looking one's Mira--"
"Really, Zoey--"
"Shh, it's okay, this is just, like, first-hand practice for when we have to MC on stage and--"
You couldn't help the chuckle that left your lips. "Thank you, Zoey. I.. assume you're the leader, then?"
"If I may," Celine interjects, a slight humorous look on her face from watching the entire exchange, "you assume incorrectly."
"Really? Then who..?"
You see Mira nudge her head to the same person that Zoe ends up glomping from behind, "This one! Her name's--"
"Rumi."
The purple-haired woman spoke—or rather, breathed out—her own name, though she doesn't seem all there, if her expression was any indication. Her brown eyes were wide, as if she was witnessing, beholding, some sort of majesty (which, really, wasn't that much far off, though it's not as if it mattered anymore after so long). She stood stock still, as if suddenly unsure of how to act.
And it seems like the other unit members noticed too.
"..Rumi? You okay?" Mira nudged Rumi's side, "you're acting weird all of a sudden—what happened to your freakish proactivity?"
That seemed to snap Rumi out of whatever reverie she was in, scrambling to form a response, "OH! Shoot, uh, sorry! For staring, I mean, I just--
"Hmm? What's this?"
"Shut up, Zoey, let them talk."
"Don't worry about it," you waved it off with a kind smile and ignored the other two and their whispering. "So you're the unlucky leader?"
Rumi lets out a small snort of laughter before nodding, forgetting her initial awkwardness, "Yeah. Though I'd feel bad if I left them to anyone else."
"Hey!"
"Ha. Good luck with that—I've only had the pleasure of exposure for a few minutes, yet I can already tell they'll be a handful. And so will you."
"Wha-- what's that supposed to mean?"
You simply give her a smile as you stepped back, hands raised in a surrendering position, "It means I can tell that the three of you are going to give me a very hard time, just like the other generations before you."
Now it was Celine's turn to sound offended, though in no part did it seem genuine, "May I remind you who was on field again?"
"Was, dear." It was probably a hypocritical push-back, considering how you haven't been on field at all since being cursed, but alas, life wasn't fair.
So you quickly follow it up by patting away imaginary lint off your clothes before taking out your phone, "Now, as much as I'd like to carry this on, I've got enough work to break a mortal's back." And you pat Rumi's shoulder, which her cheeks tint the slightest pink in response, "Good luck, HUNTR/X. I'll be seeing you around."
And you let your hand slide down and drop to your side as you walked off, though you can't help but catch snippets of remaining conversation:
"You've got the hots for the manager. No way."
"I do not!"
"You froze, Rumi. I have never seen you freeze in front of someone new before."
"Cut it out!"
Idk I felt like I had to write out their FIRST introduction, bc honestly I can't see them NOT meeting you if you're in a high-up role, considering their importance
This DOES set things up though, bc they know they exist. But let's be honest it's probably VERY rarely that you two would ever happen upon each other, and even then it's probably in passing, for a few seconds type shit
You might be cursed to roam the Earth instead of actually be the deity of whatever it is you were supposed to hold domain over, but again. You're STILL a deity. So maybe after sensing that something is ABSOLUTELY WRONG, you manage to find where everyone's gathered, where the Saja Boys were performing, where Gwi-Ma had waited to devour all these souls before Rumi showed up, her half-demon heritage VERY out in the open now. Perhaps you even help them fend the demons off, either by boosting the power these souls had or outright using whatever power you had
I think after Gwi-Ma's banished, ever since you've been cursed, you've been in charge of cleanup. Erasing enough memories and proof to make the entire event seem like a Mandela Effect (you loathe how technology advances every minute bc there's THAT fucking issue too), structure reparation, everything. And THIS would be when you and HUNTR/X start interacting more
You'd probably most likely already know about Rumi's half-demon thing; you kinda had to be told by Celine ages ago for the sake of any possible damage control if, say, someome who shouldn't be able to see the markings see it. So when she asks you why you don't look shocked at all, it's because you're not. You've known what she is the entire time, and you don't really gaf. You're a cursed deity, why tf would you?
After the adrenaline wears off, she'd be back to oscillating between being SLIGHTLY awkward—because Jesus CHRIST she thought you were absolutely gorgeous then and she STILL thinks you're gorgeous now—and genuinely enjoying your presence, especially now that she doesn't really have to hide anymore (no thanks to Celine lmfao). Plus I think her newfound freedom opens up the actual excitement of learning about another supernatural entity that ISN'T a demon
Naturally, Zoey and Mira add 2+2 together and decide to meddle. Because honestly beyond the two of them, they know for a FACT that Rumi deserves happiness and acceptance from someone she genuinely likes. And considering you're there.......looking at her with those eyes............likeeeeee 😜😜😜😜 it's just basic girl math!!!!!
So it starts with them pushing Rumi towards you EVERY chance they get. You need to find new talent? Let Rumi help!!! You're going through recording? Oh suddenly the both of them have a cold oh noooooo Rumi will have to go on her own to record her own parts!! You're filling in paperwork? Oh em gee I wonder why we walked all the way here oh I think we left the oven on okay byeeee
It gets less subtle for them lol. They start asking Rumi how she feeeeeeels in so many different ways ("So is age and experience a thing for you?" "Wh--" "Just asking~! Jinu was like a few hundred, and [Y/N]'s been watching over several Hunter generations, so-- mmf!" "Eat your fries or so help me--"), and they even blatantly go up to ask you about preferences and stuff, even going so far as to just flat-out describe Rumi herself ("Purple hair and glowing demon marks; a turn-on or a turn-off?" "..Why?" "Just answer the question.")
Does it get you all closer? Yes. Does it also get you and Rumi closer? Yes, actually, but not just because of their wingmanning—both of you bond over the sheer exasperation at the VERY obvious attempts of playing matchmaker
The two of you probably eventually give in when you get individual messages from the other person about asking to meet at some secluded spot where you can see the stars really clearly without obstruction. How do you two give in, you ask? By just honestly going for it when the two of you realise that no, neither of you texted each other about meeting here and yes, this was absolutely planned by Zoey and Mira. You sit there on the picnic blanket that was mysteriously set up and kitted out with a vintage lantern from a some local goth shop and a basket of food, and the two of you talk personally: about your days; about how Rumi was handling being a demon out in the 'open' (aka humans can't really see it but supernaturals and Hunters can); about how and why you're cursed; about anything and everything
I don't think the two of you would kiss here, not on the lips anyway maybe the cheek ir the knuckle at MOST but otherwise nah. But it's the opening of something more, and when the two of you just lean on each other as you watch the stars, you can just hear a very faint shriek that sounds SUSPICIOUSLY like Zoey. But rn that's not your concern go back to your date 🙏

The wind was biting, tingling your cheeks as you hurried along the street, pulling the collar of your coat up in a rather futile attempt to shield yourself from the wrath of the quiet beast that was British November. A curse after curse towards yourself was swirling in your head over and over again for not bothering to properly check the location of your rented apartment a year ago. If you had half a brain to do that, you would’ve noticed its unacceptably large distance from the nearest bus stops and underground stations. Even worse, the area was devoid of any type of coziness, leaving you to stroll between the dark walls of brick and glass along with similarly sullen people unwilling to meet your eyes with theirs.
A quivering flicker of warmth caught your eye when you dared to look up from the dampened pavement underneath your feet, just to be met with a chilly gust of air making your eyes water. Through the blur you could distinguish the warmth getting closer and closer, until you were standing right underneath several strings of fairy lights forming sparkling bridges between the trees to you left and the building to your right.
Toasted & Roasted.
Your eyebrow twitched up in surprise at the unfamiliar sign, the lightness of it contrasting so harshly against the bleak background of your area of residence. Your gaze travelled lower, noting the glimpses of the cozy exterior visible through the panoramic windows and a similarly tall glass door. A hot cup of coffee sounded delightful right now, plus, it had been a while since something good appeared anywhere in your vicinity. Without thinking twice, your body turned right, your feet already making swift steps towards the most inviting door you’d seen in a while. In a few seconds that lasted an eternity, the door shut out the cold and the slowly but surely commencing drizzle, and you were finally enveloped by delicious scents of coffee and pastries and mellow music streaming through the homely space around you.
The bar counter was straight across from the entrance, with the usual menu on the wall above it. You made a beeline towards it, taking off the beanie warming your head up until now and untangling the mess of knots that was your scarf, hastily wrapped around your neck about an hour ago. Your curious eyes were skimming the menu and the see-through display with different cakes and pastries teasing your senses when you heard a voice coming from behind the counter.
“Welcome to Roasted & Toasted, how can I help you to–”
A head of brown curls emerged from behind the cash register. The seemingly confident voice trailed off at the last word, widened ocean eyes fixed on your face, lips parted and sucking in a silent but sharp breath.
“–day.”
The ending came out in a breath. A noticeable Italian accent registered in your brain, and you filed away this thought to remember later, for reasons you couldn’t quite grasp yet. The guy behind the counter straightened up, running a hand through his messily pristine hair that fell onto his forehead despite the effort, and flashed you a wide charming smile, a stark difference from the shock written on his face just a few seconds ago (to which you were completely oblivious).
“It’s on the house,” he blurted out before you even had the chance to speak, with the confidence of someone who had just had the whole world laid at his feet. “Your order’s on the house,” he repeated, as if he liked the way the words rolled off his tongue and was proud of himself for saying it.
“Um…”
You hummed to compensate for your lack of proper response – it was the first time you were bombarded with a free drink right after walking into a new coffee place, and before you could even place the order.
“You have a special offer?” you prompted, trying to make sense of the sudden generosity. The guy’s smile widened, making the corners and the underside of his eyes burst into crinkles that you found adorable way too fast for having seen him for the first time.
“We do,” he answered a bit too quickly, which, again, completely went over your head. “Special offers for special clients,” he added with a wink, which made you bite the inside of your cheek to stop your mouth from producing uncontrollable giggles, already born deep in your chest and making their way up your throat. You were certain you hadn’t seen any special offer promos on the outside, which could only mean one thing – you had just become a subject of rather shameless flirting.
“Well, that’s… good.” You cleared your throat, still coming to terms with the fact that the cute barista had just flirted with you. At the back of your mind, there was knowledge that you had to make an order, but words seemed to escape you for the moment, so you decided to busy yourself with looking through the menu above the counter again.
The guy followed your gaze and a smirk appeared on his lips, one that could easily be mistaken for a simple smile if you didn’t look close enough. “Fancy anything?” he asked, raising his eyebrow just a bit in a politely curious manner, though there was something behind the watercolour of his eyes that you couldn’t quite name – or couldn’t make sense of yet. “We have the pumpkin spice, the autumn classic,” he started, his smirk widening at the sight of your eyes intently fixed on his. “But I’d personally suggest a lavender latte as your first “Roasted & Toasted” experience.”
You completely missed every single word that the guy said, entranced by the sound of his voice – you didn’t know voices like that even existed. When the last syllable came out of his mouth, you shook your head, feeling heat treacherously creeping up your cheeks at the realization that you had zero idea what he had just said.
“I, um… I’ll just have a cappuccino.” You gave him a smile that you tried to make look as far from sheepish as possible. Your usual order seemed like a pretty safe option in your slightly dazed state. “No sugar, salted caramel syrup, please.”
A low chuckle in the guy’s voice sounded like music, another detail you duly noted and stored in a totally new folder in your brain with “cute Italian barista” as a title. Why it was there was a question you had no answer to and frankly, didn’t want to busy your mind with. It was occupied enough with staring him down as his lips formed words you didn’t understand.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. A cappuccino this late in the day," he tutted, his tone coming out as a soft scold. You didn’t get it at first, but the heat in your cheeks increased in temperature, even though you tried to keep a distant yet polite exterior appropriate for the barista-client interaction. It was getting increasingly hard, though, with the way the guy’s eyes were scanning your face. "You English lot have it that bad, huh?"
"Uh… I guess."
You gave him a small shrug, trying your best to hide your flustered state. Noticing it nonetheless, the barista chuckled once more and his smirk finally softened.
"Sorry, just my Italian blood," he explained, looking down at the counter and shaking his head, the tiny action making the his curls bounce from side to side. Then, he glanced up again, his lashes almost hiding his magnetizing eyes from view, which you found endearing and slightly annoying at the same time. "You’re making me commit a deadly sin, I hope you know that."
You couldn’t help a giggle of your own this time, confusion slowly making way for a strange feeling of giddiness.
"Noted," you answered, tilting you head to the side a bit as you continued studying the wonder that was the guy behind the counter. "Won’t repeat the mistake again. Don’t want you indulging in blasphemy…" You took a quick look at the badge on his uniform apron. "…Theodore."
If you were attentive enough, you would see a slight bob of his Adam’s apple right after you called out his name. He quickly schooled himself back into the charming smile he was sporting, a nod of his head serving as a sign of his acknowledgment.
"No, no, it’s fine,” he reassured you in a playful manner. "Like I said, a special offer for a special client." Another wink made your heart do a leap, the bounds of your chest suddenly seeming too restrictive. "And it’s Theo, alright? Theodore makes me feel like a grandpa."
"Alright, Theo."
The name seemed a pleasant hum on your lips, which Theo himself seemed to agree with, if his content smile was any indication.
"I assume you’re taking your coffee here," he noted, briefly glancing at the window behind you. Outside, the drizzle intensified, turning into a full-on shower rattling against the ground and seeping through the soft sound of music inside the coffee shop.
"You would be correct," you confirmed, also taking a look behind your shoulder and realizing that the weather was as horrible for being out in the street as it was perfect for a quiet hour inside, with a cup of coffee and a book to keep you occupied.
"Great. I just need your name now. For the order," Theo added in a hurry, as if he needed to clarify, which he quickly masked with a nonchalant smile. You didn’t put much significance into it, not in the mood to overthink, as it usually happened with your racing mind.
Theo scribbled down your name on a piece of paper and tucked the pen into the front pocket of his apron, smoothing it out.
"Be right up."
Your hand automatically reached for your card, but then you stilled it in the air, remembering the ‘on the house’ part. Giving Theo a slightly awkward nod, you made your way to a quaint table right next to the window, taking off your coat and settling into the plush chair.
Tumblr media
"Nott? The fuck was that, huh?"
"Pansy, shut up for a damn second, will you?"
Theo rolled his eyes, fumbling with the buttons on the coffee machine to start up a cappuccino. His movements were precise, if not a bit tense, since the haze of his interaction dissipated, and he was left alone with his dear but annoying friend-turned-colleague. Pansy had been watching the whole thing from the small kitchen, hidden by the curtain, and as soon as you left for your table, she started on her relentless journey to tease the hell out of Theodore.
"I’m just being real here. You were making heart eyes at her." Pansy raised her eyebrow in mock amusement; while Theo’s flirty nature wasn’t a surprise for her, the way he was acting with you was certainly different from his usual getting-the-girl antics.
"Yeah, well, you’re just pissed you can’t hog all the pretty girls to yourself," Theo quipped, refusing to acknowledge the blush that was firmly set on his cheeks at the mention of his ‘heart eyes’ – he was all too aware that he was, in fact, making them, and he wasn’t doing a good job at hiding it, either.
Pansy let out a short chuckle, pushing herself off the doorframe to wipe the counter clean – just in case their annoying wench of a manager decided she had another problem with that.
"You’re not mad about… Jennifer? Juniper? Are you?" she asked, her voice obviously teasing. At that, Theo grumbled under his breath, something about her not even remembering the name, but there was no bite to his words. He already forgot all about the girl from earlier in the day that Pansy swooped in to charm; no, from now on he had a one track mind, and its destination was sitting so cozily next to the window, it made his heart beat faster at every stolen glance.
Theo tried to stop his hand from trembling while he worked on making your coffee as appealing as possible. Latte art on a cappuccino should’ve been easy enough, he’s had tons of practice both at work and at home, but for some reason, he needed to make yours especially beautiful. Pansy watched him with rapt attention, an amused smirk never leaving her lips.
"You’re really going all out, aren’t you?” she chimed in as Theo cursed when his hand swayed left, making an unwanted streak appear on the foamy surface. "Theodore Nott actually trying for a girl. Who would’ve thought."
"Shut. The hell. Up," he gritted through clenched teeth, his eyebrows furrowed in concentration as he created another elegant swirl, one he was rather pleased with. He leaned back to admire his creation – you should like it, there was no way you wouldn’t.
Tumblr media
Your head snapped to the left when you heard your name being called in that voice you had grown to miss in the last few minutes, while Theo was busy making your coffee. A smile appeared on your face, as if your lips had a mind of their own, and so did your legs, if the skip in your steps on the way to the counter had anything to say about it.
"There you go. Salted caramel, no sugar."
Theo carefully placed a beige cup on top of the bar counter, dusting off his hands while watching you reaction with what he hoped was a casual expression. It wasn’t that in the slightest, and you would notice, if your own mind wasn’t preoccupied with trying to behave like a functioning human being and not a smitten teenage girl.
"You’re… quite talented," you commented on the coffee art, your efforts to keep yourself in check as futile as Theo’s. A wider smile was hurting your cheeks with the force it was threatening to escape with, and you gave up, allowing yourself to grin like an absolute idiot.
"I am quite talented with my hands, yes," Theo replied, immediately cursing himself for the double meaning he didn’t intend to bring into the conversation. His usual smoothness seemed to evade him in your presence, but the prettiest twinkle in your eyes and the way you looked to the side was a reward he wasn’t sure he deserved.
Theodore Nott was many things, and stupid wasn’t one of them. Until he met you, that is. Only when the door closed behind your back did he realize that he forgot to ask for your phone number. He ran a hand over his face, frustrated, mad at himself and left to pray to everything that was holy that you would pop by again.

my all + oneshot
Tumblr media
authors note: this is all deranged, dysfunctional, toxic, and unhealthy. i condone none of the shit ya'll are about to read. none. inspired by this ask.
words: 8.7k
song inspo: 'my all' by mariah carey. because solana is just as down bad as mariah was singing this shit about a young derek jeter.
warnings: smut, violence, some angst. age gap relationship (10 years). a bit of a daddy kink. breeding kink. blink and you'll miss it cum play. toxic relationship. rough sex. roman is dominant and possessive. solana is passive and a bit of a nympho for him.
Solana Miller knew the minute she laid eyes on Roman Reigns that he would be trouble. Without even knowing his story, his case, or the reason he was serving a 10 year sentence, she just knew he would be a problem for her.
It started with the first man that he sent to her infirmary. Badly beaten. Multiple cracked ribs. A ruptured kidney. Eyes swollen shut.
The reason for the vicious attack?
Because he could.
The man ended up needing care beyond what Solana could provide, hence being transferred to the main hospital.
And that was just one of several. Over the course of four weeks, several men who found themselves on Roman Reigns' bad side—if a good one even exists—laid on her bed. Bloody, beaten, unconscious. The more inmates she saw, the more severe the beatings. His cruelty seemed to know no limits.
And, Roman himself wasn't even the one who'd caused such mayhem. He had people working for, and inmates doing his dirty work for him. Even behind bars, he was still running shit.
It was the final inmate to need intense, urgent medical care beyond her clinic that Solana had to ask, had to inquire as to why. The how this kept happening. How Reigns hadn’t earned himself at least a good month or two of solitary confinement.
The answer?
“He’s untouchable.”
That was the only answer she received from her direct supervisor, the medical director of the prison, Dr. Trish Stratus.
And, it made sense. Because one look at Roman and one just knows he’s bad news, anyone who’s anyone knows exactly who Roman Reigns is.
The Tribal Chief.
The Head of the Table.
The Capo.
He has many names, many titles, but all lead to one thing.
Danger.
Roman Reigns is the personification of danger.
The feared, brutal leader of two of the biggest crime syndicates in the world. His stint in federal prison only occurring due to betrayal from within his inner circle and a freshly appointed DA who thought he was hot shit by bringing down “The Big Dog.”
Solana knows it’s only a matter of time before he “mysteriously” disappears. Any sign or trace of him most likely to be found in the form of scattered body parts. If anything at all is to be left.
Just like she knows it’s only a matter of time before Roman is someway, somehow released. A man as powerful as him can only be kept in chains for so long.
It'd been a little over a month since Solana first locked eyes with Roman Reigns in passing as he was being escorted to his cell. A brief, powerful, memorable thing. The faintest hint of a smirk on his handsome face as she redirected her gaze to her shoes.
Avoid.
Solana was determined to avoid him at all cost.
A difficult, almost impossible thing to do when one day she walked into work to find him sitting on the patient bed in her room, waiting for her almost, wearing a smug expression.
The reason for his presence?
“Said his chest was hurting.”
Solana had never felt so disgusted with a person before when she received that bullshit answer from the guard. The guard who not only left her alone with Reigns, door closed, left him alone, completely unshackled. No cuffs on his wrists.
It was….unnerving, to say the least.
She’d heard the gory tales of his brutality. Knew what he was capable of. And, she’d been left alone with him.
Wonderful.
Solana swallowed, doing her best to show no fear as she placed her bag on the hook behind the door. “Take your shirt off for me.” She issued her command while washing her hands, taking longer than what was necessary, already knowing she was bound to be distracted by the sight of such a man shirtless.
And, damn, was she correct.
Roman sat, still smug, shirtless, rippling muscles on full display. His tattoos, almost entirely tribal in nature, decorating half his body. A beautifully sculpted body.
Solana’s resolve had never been tested as much as it was in that awful moment.
“What’s your name, pretty girl?” It was the first thing she heard him say, the deep timbre of his baritone voice shaking her in an unsettling way.
Solana managed to avoid eye contact, drying her hands and answering. “Solana.” Throwing the used paper towels away, she added, “you can call me Nurse Miller.”
Roman shook his head, a teasing smile growing. “I like pretty girl better.” Fuck. “What’s a nice, young thing like you doing working in a place like this?”
“What are your symptoms?” She asked, somehow, someway maintaining professionalism despite the burning of her cheeks. She’d never been spoken to so boldly.
Roman’s gaze was assessing, causing Solana to suddenly regret bypassing picking up a new set of scrubs. Having gained some weight over the past few months, she found her work uniform a little too snug in all the places one wouldn’t want attention in. The same places his eyes seemed to focus on. “You’re too innocent to be here.” He spoke, proudly and easily not answering her questions. “Too pretty. Too damn fine.”
Solana cleared her throat. “Mr. Reigns—”
“Roman,” he interrupted. “Call me Roman.”
Oh, fuck.
Solana’s suddenly shaky hands moved to grab the stethoscope off the counter as she walked over to him, managing a quiet, “just relax.” The same advice she tried to tell herself in being so close to him, the scent of his cologne, strong and masculine, just as distracting as his perfect face and body. Solana assessed his vital signs, hearing nothing abnormal.
Clearing her throat, she moved to step away only for him to grab her. She froze as he tugged her in between his spread legs.
Her stomach dropped. “Mr. Rei—”
“Shhhh.” His index finger moved against her lips. “Roman.” He corrected once more, just as his eyes lowered to her chest. His tongue dipped out, licking his bottom lip. Solana utilized all sense of self-control to keep her thighs from clamping together from such an innocent act.
Eyes never leaving her, he stood up, slowly. The height difference between them enough to make her head crane back to maintain that contact. Why she would even want to maintain it? She hadn’t the slightest clue.
Solana’s mouth went dry as Roman grabbed his orange discarded shirt, laying it on his muscled forearm. She went to back away, the distance between them too suffocating, too cumbersome.
But, the minute she did, his hand was on the small of her back, holding her, keeping her near him.
Her eyes shut when he lowered his head, mouth near her ear. “I’ll see you around, pretty girl.”
A whispered promise followed by a light slap of her ass before he separated from her, walking out the door without another word.
—------
Solana would love to say that was the one and only time that happened.
But, that would be a lie.
A big, fat lie, because that man earned himself an undeserved visit to her medical bay more often than any other patient she’d ever had. And not once did he come with any medical necessity. His reason always the same.
“I wanted to see you.”
To her credit, she tried her best to maintain those boundaries. Corrected him every time he called her “pretty girl.” Ignored him whenever he made an inappropriate comment or innuendo about her body. Avoiding him seeing the blush on her cheek when he referred to indecent acts.
She truly did her best, but with each visit, her resolve crumbled. A straight face slipped into a small, shy smile. Physically assessing him with her hands, while limited to the usual, medically approved checkpoints, shifted into something else. When he grabbed her wrist and slid her palm over his heart, it rested there for longer than what was necessary.
The personal questions he asked shifted from being ignored into being answered, though some information was omitted.
And, the physical distance she did her best to keep between them minimized with each encounter. He was breaking her, and he knew it.
She thought of going to Stratus. Even briefly considered asking for a transfer. But, something about it, something about him, prevented her from doing so. Prevented her from putting an end to it all, because another part of her, a stupid, naive part liked it.
She liked the attention he gave her.
She liked him.
And almost a month into this game of cat or mouse, it all came to a head.
—----
It was the usual routine of him lying and forcing his way into her space, but the air about it was different. It felt different.
Right away, she knew he had other intentions.
Roman’s big body eclipsed her last glimpse of the door closing, the two guards outside of the room instead of one inside and one outside, as protocol dictated.
A protocol that’d been disregarded from the moment he stepped foot into her infirmary.
But, instead of sitting on the bed as usual, he remained standing. Nearing her, watching and studying her.
Nothing but lust and desire dancing in his beautiful eyes.
Solana swallowed, partially already knowing what was about to happen.
Didn’t stop her from asking.
“What—what are you doing?” A question that should have been laced with fear and concern. Roman is a monster. A cold-blooded killer whose ledger is soaked and dripping with blood.
He was also standing directly in front of her.
He said nothing at first, head tilted as he effectively backed her against the patient bed. Solana’s ass bumped into the end of said bed, preventing her from going anywhere. He had her boxed in.
“Giving you exactly what you want.”
His answer was hard enough to process, followed by his big hands reaching down and grabbing her, lifting and placing her onto the edge of said bed. Solana gasped, going to scold him, “Mr. Reigns, this is inap—”
“Shut up.”
Solana would be lying if she tried to deny she hadn’t thought of what it would be like to kiss Roman. A monster he may be, but ugly, he most certainly is not. Visually speaking, tall, strong, dark, and handsome, he checks off every single box a woman could be looking for.
Except, she didn't push him off when he smashed his lips onto hers. Didn’t shove him away and scream for help, for one of the guards to restrain him and keep him away from her.
She pulled him closer, ignoring the smirk of his full lips into their passionate kiss. A kiss she found herself not wanting to end as he shoved his tongue into her mouth the same way he’d shoved himself into her life. Without request and without protest.
Solana moaned when his hands moved down to squeeze her breast, his thumb peppering over her hardened nipples that felt brick solid, poking against the fabric of her scrubs.
Her attraction for him and enjoyment in their passionate make out couldn’t be denied even if she tried. So much so that she doesn’t bat an eye when that same hand previously groping her big breast jumped down to start tugging her pants off.
Solana moaned into the kiss, as Roman expertly rid her of her scrubs, ripping them past her sneakers, that he also removed, all items discarded onto the floor. He pried his mouth from hers, full lips swollen, pink tongue darting out and glossing over his bottom lip.
“Lay back.”
Two words. A single command. One response.
Never mind the consequences, the repercussions, the career ending outcome that could stem from such a major fuck up. A mishap or mistake were too watery of terms to use. Too downplaying of what should easily be the biggest regret of her life, because so much, all, stands to be lost with just one knock or entrance of the right—or wrong—person.
Fraternizing with the prisoners was one thing, but sexual conduct with said prisoners was entirely different.
Solana could lose her job, could lose her license, could lose everything she’s worked so hard for.
And, yet none of that prevented her from doing a damn thing to stop this man.
Solana laid back on the patient bed, sitting up and resting her weight on her elbows as she watched him drop to his knees before her. Heart rate erratic, she lifted her hips just enough when he started tugging down her underwear. As expected, they were thrown to the wayside, just as her pants and shoes were.
An inconvenient obstacle preventing him from his destination.
His warm eyes lifted to hers at the same time he grabbed her by her calves, forcing her down on the bed and right onto his waiting mouth.
“Oh, fuck!”
Solana had always enjoyed this part of sex. Tried to enjoy it, at least. Consistent good head had always been hard to come across. It’d be great at first and lackluster every time after. Or, the usual of way too much theatrics and not enough actual performance.
None of that was the case with the man before her.
Roman didn’t ease into anything. It seemed like a trait that felt applicable across several areas of his life. Including with sex. Because, he ate her pussy with a ravenous, carnal, sinful need. The sounds of him sucking and licking on her clit battling with the moans that left her mouth and the withering of her body on the bed.
The minute his thick, talented tongue circled her sensitive nub, Solana was off her elbows and on her back, head reclined from the delicacy of his exquisite mouth on her most sacred parts.
“Oh my God.”
Solana was too caught up in the bliss of it all to care when he pulled back, humming almost. “That’s it, sweetheart.” He brought his fingers to toy with her arousal, thick finger teasing her tight hole. “Fuck my face.”
It was only then Solana realized how her body moved against him, how one hand fisted in his hair, holding him right where she wanted him. To stay.
Forever.
“Shit, Roman,” she cursed when he went back to work, sucking and kissing her pussy like it was the best thing he’d ever been blessed to experience. “Don’t—don’t stop.”
He moaned against her, hands moving under her ass, tugging her even closer. Solana cried out from the euphoria of it all, continuing to grind against him, an eager, needy nympho for his fix.
And, he continued to provide it, continuing to grace and grant her with a level of delight she never knew possible. Roman ate her out within an inch of her life, Solana’s attempts to pry him off her only met with him forcing her hands away, further burying his face into her safe haven. He continued to torture her, never retracting or stopping, even as her orgasm coursed through her, practically knocking the wind out of her.
Never in her life had she come so hard.
Or so much.
She was a discombobulated mess, the only thing pulling her from that post orgasmic daze was the sight of Roman lowering his orange pants and black boxers, freeing what had to be the biggest dick—outside of porn—that she’d ever seen.
The excitement and libido was momentarily altered by an understandable amount of trepidation.
“I—” Solana wasn’t quite sure how to say it, especially as he rubbed the massive mushroom head of his equally massive sized cock against her slippery, wet folds. “It’s—it’s not going to fit.”
She knew this well. Basic science and common sense. Maybe some fear as well.
A lot of fear.
There’s no way he could get that inside of her. Not without her landing in someone’s emergency room from vaginal tearing. If not worse.
But, her apprehension didn’t extend to him. Roman smirked in response to her overt concern. “Yes, it will.” He prompted with his chin, one hand stroking that beautiful, long dick. “Lay back.”
She swallowed. “Roman.”
“Trust me.”
Her eyes widened slightly. Trust him? She shouldn’t have even be doing that with the man, let alone trusting him to fuck her without causing great bodily harm. It was crazy. All of it. One of the most dangerous men in the world, serving a ten year prison sentence, a man who had run this place like he owned it since starting his sentence. A man who’d gradually made his way past her wall, albeit weak from the get-go, standing before her, about to fuck her in the infirmary where she was supposed to be working. Like the guards outside the door who were also supposed to be working but had turned a blind eye, like almost everyone has with Reigns’ outrageous conduct.
It was fucking ludicrous.
And yet, she did exactly as he directed.
She laid back, demonstrating an undeserved and unearned amount of trust.
Her stomach doing all kinds of somersaults, also in battle with the desire that still coursed in the depths of her belly. The wonderful sensations that came from him continuing to coat his dick with her essence, their makeshift lube in absence of the actual product.
Not once did she think to ask about protection. Or anything else, really, because all she could think about and focus on was the immediate, almost painful feel of him as he started to enter her.
Her eyes clenched shut, her fingers gripping the bed underneath her. “Shit.” An almost burning sensation, something similar to what one experiences when being split or cut open.
An accurate description.
Solana felt a shift and a sort of weight on top of her, followed by Roman’s soft, full lips on hers. Nasty, tongue kissing accompanied the gradual descent of him inside her, providing a salacious and needed distraction. Inch by inch, he stretched her walls, forcing her cunt to accommodate his big dick.
Solana clutched onto his shoulders, moaning into his mouth when he spoke against her lips, “that’s it….let me in, baby girl.” Her eyes didn’t need to be open to see the haughty expression on his face. It seeped through his deep voice. “Let me ruin you.”
Concerning words that should not evoke the kind of moan it did. But, it did. The same way Solana couldn’t stop herself from realizing at some point the pain and discomfort of her taking someone of his size and girth transcended into something delicious and pleasurable. That it moved into her rocking against him, eager for more and all of him.
Something most definitely noticed by the man above her.
“Am I in there?” A possibly rhetorical question that was followed up with a more demanding question. “Where am I? Tell me, baby.”
An easy question, but one that was a struggle to verbalize as Roman had eased into a slow and steady pace. Solana hugged him closer as one hand moved under her ass, holding her up a bit while he fucked her.
“My—my stomach, oh my God.” The only answer she could provide, the one that felt the most truthful, cause God, he was so deep. If not for rolls and pudge of her belly, even more profound from the position they were in, she’s certain she could have seen his sizable dick driving into her. Balls and stomach deep.
“That’s right,” he growled. Solana’s head fell back, wincing when he kissed and bit down on her neck. Equally painful as it was delightful. “Can’t nobody fucking beat your shit up like this but me.”
Another true statement she couldn’t deny or even try to. Solana couldn’t do much of anything with the way he was pounding into her. Wild, animalistic, uncontrolled.
Fucking into her with a sense of need and urgency. “Fuck, your pussy feels amazing.” He grunted, leaning over, sucking on her neck. “Tight ass cunt….”
Her thighs locked around his waist, hungry for him, begging to feel his dick continue to dive into her. She’d never had a sexual partner hit and feel as deep as Roman was and felt in her. “Keep fucking me like that.”
Roman’s smirk was loud and proud. “This what you been wanting?” His tone cocky and knowing as he flicked her nipples through her top. “Me to stretch this pussy?”
Her response was a moan as she gripped his arms, holding him tighter and closer. “Y–yes.”
He made a sound, hiking her up further, Solana crying out from the angle of the thrust. The tip of his dick repeatedly knocking into and nudging her g-spot. “God, yes, right there.” Words in Spanish tumbled out of her mouth at the way he rocked into her, over and over again, driving her mad with delectable ectasy.
“Pretty girl just wanted me to slut her out on my dick, huh?” More bragging. Well deserved, because the way he was digging her out, pounding into her, should be studied, framed, and preserved for all eternity. “Wanted to be fucked by a real man.”
Another undisputed fact.
“Fuck.” His hissed curse drew her gaze to him, Solana biting down on her bottom lip at the sight. Eyes shut, tension evident by how he was clenching his jaw, he looked like he was enjoying it just as much as she was. And there was something empowering about that, something that got her off even more. Knowing that a man as powerful as him, in all the ways, could be brought to this level of bliss because of her.
It had to be what emboldened her to bring her hands to his face, forcing their swollen lips to lock once more as she demanded, “you like how my pussy feels, baby?” Such an uncharacteristic thing for her to say, in the middle of being fucked numb, or not. Regardless, it’s exactly what she said.
Roman’s response was to grind his hips against her, as he answered almost darkly. “Yes.” Solana nearly came right then and there from a single answer. “The Tribal Chief loves it.”
Another orgasm inducing acknowledgment that had that familiar sensation building and budding inside her. “Roman…”
“I know,” was his only response. He could feel it, too. “Not yet.” He said more to himself than her. “I’m not ready...”
Solana had a good feeling about what he was referring to, but it did nothing to slow down the autonomous response of her body. Unless he stopped fucking her like that, there was no stopping it.
A whimper left her mouth as she dug her nails into his cheek, their foreheads pressed against each other. “I can’t….”
“Yes, you can,” he encouraged, slowing down the pace of his thrusts. She couldn't tell if that helped or hurt. “Don’t come on daddy’s dick just yet, pretty girl.” The ‘pretty girl’ most definitely didn’t help. It never did. “Let me feel this good ass pussy a lil’ longer…”
She wouldn’t be opposed to feeling his good ass dick inside her a lil’ longer as well, but wants oftentimes can’t stand up against needs. And, what she needed was to come.
More than she’d ever come before.
It felt almost impossible, but Roman talked her through it. Kept her from tipping over the edge just long enough, so that he could catch up with and reach her, where they could climax together. And, they did. God, they did. Solana holding onto him, mouth ajar, connection to reality momentarily severed. Her orgasm was otherworldly. Too good and grand for her to even put into words, to be fully, physically, emotionally, and spiritually present.
All so earth and world shattering that it never even occurred to her how Roman came inside of her. Ropes of his cum, combined with her own, filling and spilling out over her used and battered pussy.
She was partially cognizant to when he eventually pulled out of her, dazed look in his eyes as he brought his finger to her vagina, pushing some of their cum back inside.
But, she was very aware when he used that same hand and brought his hand to grab her jaw, squeezing just enough to force her mouth open. That same hand, those fingers, still with their juices on it, entered her mouth. The unspoken command obvious.
Solana sucked his fingers dry.
Imagining it was that big, beautiful dick of his instead.
His look of pride at her obedience was followed by him removing said fingers. His mouth back on her, Solana shared the taste of them on her tongue and lips. An erotic, nasty exchange of sorts that had her pussy fluttering.
It was all so kinky.
Roman broke the kiss, looking down at her with something she couldn’t name, but something that had her both aroused and fearful.
And with all the conviction in the world, he laid his claim. “You’re mine now.”
—-----------
That first time was the start of something inescapable and avoidable.
Something sinful and forbidden.
An affair.
Four months deep, even if Solana wanted to get out, she couldn’t. It’s a known, open secret among several of her coworkers and colleagues. Something that once shamed her, embarrassed her. Now, she can’t seem to think or see straight beyond Roman.
Even now, as she sits in the trailer, the place intended for prisoners who have an exemplary record, who have completed the Extended Family Visits (EFV) Program, that allows prisoners to have family time with loved ones in this separate space on prison grounds. 26 hours to live as normal a life as possible.
It’s a resource Roman has now commandeered for their alone time, adding to their visits that still happen at least three times a week.
For almost four months now, this has been the routine. Short, not as long meetings in the prison followed up with the Friday into Saturday she spends with him in the trailer almost weekly.
The closest sense of normalcy she’ll ever receive in such a fucked up situation.
But, the moment Roman arrives, she knows.
Knows that something is wrong.
He’s upset with her. She can tell from the minute he walks in. Big body and tall frame almost too large for the trailer. Nicer and even bigger than the average, it’s just too small for him. Too simple. Too basic. A man like Roman demands and requires only the best of things.
A difficult task, however, given the situation he’s in.
The situation they’re in.
He heads straight to the shower, which is the norm for him. However, what’s not the norm is the way he doesn’t even ask—or tell—her to join him. That’s usually how they kick things off. In the shower. Her washing him. Him washing her, and then her legs wrapped around his waist as he pounds into her her, her on her her knees, her body propped up against the wall, then on the bathroom counter, and eventually into the bedroom.
The normal trajectory of things.
But, not tonight.
No, tonight is clearly bound to be different.
For a minute, Solana considers just leaving. It’s obvious he’s in a mood, and she doesn’t feel much better herself. It’s probably just best if she goes home. The smart thing. The right thing.
She doesn’t do it.
She remains there, sitting and waiting on the bed, wearing an old Selena shirt, a gift from her cousin back when they were in college.
And, she waits. For what, she’s not entirely sure anymore.
She just waits.
Roughly 25 minutes pass from the time he entered the trailer and the minute he walks out of the bathroom, nothing but a thick white towel wrapped around his waist. He’d clearly used another to dry his hair as best as possible given its damp, but not wet, appearance.
He stands at the end of the bed, ringlets of water dripping and traveling down his body, that sculpted, divine, fine work of the Gods. And, he looks at her. Says nothing. Just looks.
Suddenly exhausted and minimally frustrated, Solana runs her hands through her blown out hair. “Roman—
“Did you fuck him?”
And now, she’s looking at him. Of all the things he could say, of all the things he could ask, that….that was most definitely not on her list.
Confused, but maybe not, she asks, “what?”
“You should know by now I don’t like repeating myself.” His expression is hardened. The perfect match for his voice. “The same way I don’t like when people lie to me.”
Both things that she knows. Solana has treated the brutal, gruesome wounds of the men who had to learn one or both of those lessons the hard way. And yet, she remains staunch in her partial confusion. “Roman, I don’t—” She’s silenced by him grabbing her ankle, yanking her down to the end of the bed. The action causes her shirt to scrunch up, revealing her blue thong.
His favorite color.
Not that she wore it for him. No….not at all.
Roman’s gaze briefly drifts to that same thong, and she sees the flash of desire that builds only to be squashed by frustration. “Don’t test me, Solana.” A dangerously delivered warning combined with his hand loosening its hold, only for him to gradually move it upward. “Did you think I wouldn’t find out?”
Her eyes never leave his traveling hand. “F–find out what?”
He stops only for a second. “You’re a terrible fucking liar.”
Solana says nothing, unable to disagree. She’s heard variations of the same thing over the years. Doesn’t mean she’s willing to cave.
“I know you went out last weekend with your friends.” And, there it is. Though startled, she remains unmoving. “That you went clubbing.” There’s an undeniable disdain in his delivery of that last word. A marked contrast to his hand that’s now in between her thighs, fingers hovering around the perimeter of her thong. “That you were dancing and talking to some piece of shit.”
All things she can’t and won’t deny, partially because it’s true, mostly because it’s practically impossible to focus with his hand so close to her pussy.
“So, I’m only going to ask you one more time, sweetheart.” Her eyes shut, lips parted, mouth drying as he travels his thick, long fingers past the band on her thong, collecting and playing with her arousal. “Did you fuck him?”
The him comes out at the same time he moves two fingers inside of her, evoking only a moan for a response.
It’s the wrong answer.
Solana cries out in protest when he hastily retracts his fingers, leaving her yearning and wanting more.
“Ro—”
“Shut up.” An angry silencer accompanied by his big hands moving to grab her hips, tugging her forward even more and hurriedly turning her over. Solana is hoisted up on the bed, guided on her hands and knees.
“Ro—”
Solana is once again silenced, but not by his words this time. By that same big hand coming down on her backside, the sound echoing throughout the room, her ass jiggling in the recoil.
“I said shut the fuck up,” he reiterates. There’s not going to be a third repeating. A mixture of confusion and excitement fills her at feeling and hearing him move behind her. The drop of the towel from around his waist, the way he snatches and rips her underwear clean off her body. His moan that’s followed by her own as he drags his thick dickhead up and down her folds, collecting her arousal.
It’s all so dysfunctional and wrong.
And, she loves it all.
A loud shout and moan falls out her mouth the minute he plunges his long, girthy dick inside of her. No build up. No preparation. Just the massive intrusion of his sizable member in her tight opening.
And, he’s relentless.
Solana’s body jerks back and forth from the force of his thrusts. Angry. Possessive. Jealous.
“Roman,” she moans. “Baby, please.” One hand reaching back to push him away is quickly snatched and held against her lower back as he starts fucking her harder.
“You’re mine,” he growls, leaning over, deepening the feel of the delicious dick inside of her. It hurts so good, feels so bad in all of the right, wonderful ways. “You belong to me.”
More possessive statements accompanied by his hips slamming against her big, round ass, jerking in and out of her, like each thrust is another assurance of his ownership. “Your pussy is mine.”
A decree followed up with a switching of his pace. Roman opts for slower, deeper thrusts, his hips grinding against her as one hand goes to slap her ass once more.
Solana moans, head down on the pillow, her other hand snatched and restricted behind her back. He’s got her pinned down as he continues to fuck into her like a man on a mission.
“Did you give him my pussy?” There’s an edge to his voice, like anything but the right answer could easily send him over the edge.
And, it just might.
“N–no,” she finally answers, praying the truth of her response translates despite the weariness of her voice. He always fucks her in a way that makes her feel so exhausted. “It’s—it’s your pussy, baby.”
His. All his. Every part of her. The good, the bad, the somewhere in between.
His.
“That’s right,” he grunts. Solana’s eyes burn with unshed tears. Never in her life has she been fucked like this. Fucked so good. It’s almost impossible to resist. To deny him this. To deny herself this. “Who do you belong to?”
She’s about to reply when he frees one of her hands only to fist her hair, forcing her up, head back, burning gaze on her. “I asked you a question.”
An easy answer but a difficult answer given how he’s fucking her right now. “Y—you, baby. I’m—I’m your—shit—only y–yours, Ro.”
“Damn right,” he huffs, releasing her hair. Roman moves her shirt up, exposing her big, heavy breast, gripping them, fingers playing with her nipples. “My pretty girl is mine and only mine.”
Eyes fluttering closed from being fucked numb, she can only blindly nod and agree, stuttering from the impact of his unforgiving his pace. “Y–yes, daddy.”
Head lolling back against his chest, Solana moves her hands atop his as he continues to grope and play with her titties.
His mouth near her ear, kissing and nibbling, his deep voice rumbles, “you’re gonna give me a baby.” If not for her sex fueled haze, Solana would have done a double take. Eyes wide, mouth ajar for an entirely different reason. “Gonna fill this tight, little cunt up with my seed and put a baby in you. My baby.”
Crazy.
She should call him crazy. Delusional, even. But, she can’t. She can’t, because his statement isn’t also sex fueled, the result of being caught in the throes of passion.
It comes from her.
Came from her.
Was a request straight from her mouth.
Solana had asked Roman to give her a child, to give them a child. Has done nothing to prevent said child from occurring organically given the numerous times she’s let this man come all in her without a single form of protection.
“That’s what you want, right?” He taunts, his heavy balls slapping against her from the force of his thrusts. “Me to put a baby in you? Why you let me come in you every time?”
Truthful words that should bring her to shame. But, they don’t. They just turn her on even more.
“Yes, Ro.” She moans, ass moving in tandem with him, swallowing his dick with the hunger the fills them both. “Oh, fuck, you fuck me so good, baby.”
“That’s right.” His hand squeezes her booty, jiggling and slapping it once more. “My pretty girl is a dirty cum slut for me and only me.”
Continuance of filthy truths that reveal all the ugly, tainted things about herself that only become evident when she’s with him. The secrets of her desires that could only come to the light because of him. The things she’s not sure how to get back into the box.
Or, if she even wants them to.
As he does most times, Roman puts her in any and all positions he wants to. On her hands and knees. Propped up on his dick as he watches her ride him. From the front and back. On her back. On her knees as she deepthroats him till she's on the brink of vomiting. Her knees up against her chest, juxtaposed to her ears. One leg over his shoulder, the other held up against his waist as he relentlessly pounds into her. It never stops. His sex drive is endless, his hunger and desire for her is insatiable. Always has been.
It’s only when she tells him she’s too sore, that the pleasure is completely gone, pain and discomfort the only sensations she has left inside of her is when he lets up off her. A constant thing. The minute it’s no longer pleasurable for her has always been his stopping point.
As intense and dominating he can be in the bedroom, he’s always been mindful and respectful of her consent. When she says stop, he listens.
Every single time.
When she taps out for good, he accepts it.
And, she is completely tapped out.
Roman carries her to the bathroom where he turns on the shower, bringing her under the running water as he washes her and then himself. A type of gentleness that’s a stark contrast to almost everything else about him, but a normal thing when it’s just the two of them. Both clean and cleansed from the mess they’d made of themselves, he kisses her forehead and brings her back into the bedroom. An extra blanket is laid over the bed, over the other mess that was made.
He lays her down first before climbing into bed with her, another clean blanket on top of them. Solana presses her naked, clean body against his own, head on his chest as he kisses her temple, encouraging her to rest.
And while her body enjoys the much needed respite, her mind cannot.
She can’t find a way to settle her many, racing thoughts at this. At all of it.
Madness.
This whole thing is a type of madness that makes no sense when she’s not with him and all the sense when it’s just him. That’s the power this man has over her. Solana can’t see or think straight when it’s Roman. He’s clouded her judgment, turned her into a version of herself even she can’t recognize.
She’s yet to tell if that’s a good or bad thing.
It’s all bad, according to Jade, Solana’s older cousin and confidant.
Well, prior.
Because the minute Solana made the mistake of confiding in the woman she thought she could tell anything, she learned just how wrong she was.
“Solana, have you lost your goddamn mind? You’re fucking a prisoner? A mafia boss at that?”
That was probably the nicest of the response she received. Everything else was a lot of judgment and lack of understanding. Or, trying to understand, at least.
Needless to say, the conversation didn’t go well, and every outreach attempt Solana has made in the weeks that have passed have gone without a response.
It hurts. For sure. But, Solana can understand.
Jade also works as a nurse in the local hospital and most likely doesn’t want it to get out that she knew about this illegal, forbidden affair and played any part. Distance is probably for the best.
But, the conversation and aftermath did get Solana thinking. Forced her to consider all she stands to lose should this ever reach that point, and not even her professional standing and achievements.
Her family.
What would they think of her? They’d be disappointed for sure.
The child her family never had to worry about suddenly boosted to the top of that worry list.
A dangerous thought that led her stumbling into even more dangerous territory.
Solana will never say she has a bad family. Ever. She loves her parents. Loves her siblings. Her family is good.
However, the youngest of five siblings, some of them hitting rough patches at various points in life, there were definitely moments where she just felt….there. Like, she was just another member of the family. Another Miller kid. The “good” Miller kid. The one who always had it together, for the most part, thus not needing as much attention from her parents who were already stretched thin from their other children.
And, that was pretty much the dynamic her entire life. Solana did well, did okay, and that was that. Her parents would acknowledge they were proud, but it almost always felt like a distant thing. Like, they were saying it as a pleasantry, distracted, too busy helping out DJ with his custody battle for his daughter. Occupied with finding Isabella a good therapist for her anxiety. Stressed out by Zuri and her refusal to comply.
Solana was just the child they never had to worry about which, unfortunately, translated into her being the child that often felt forgotten about.
Enter: Roman Reigns.
The attention of a man like him is one thing. The interest is something entirely different.
And, she’s managed to nab both. He should be the last person she wants to see and be intrigued by her, but that’s exactly what’s happened. Not only does Roman make her feel seen and heard, he makes her feel wanted, something she didn’t realize she lacked so deeply until him.
He makes her feel cared for.
Protected. Another, interesting, sad thing she also never realized she was missing, wanting, yearning for.
Like the guard, Knight something, who continued to pester and bother Solana, even going as far as groping her ass as she walked past him one day. An impossible, unavoidable situation as he’d been there for years compared to her six months. Something she just accepted she’d have to tolerate.
She was wrong.
Because not even 24hrs after Roman happened to catch a glimpse of the harassment she was dealing with, Knight was found dead in a prisoner’s cell. Beaten to death. Castrated. Eyes gouged out.
A gruesome ending for a man she couldn’t find herself feeling sorry for after learning he had a record of harassing nurses. And sexually assaulting female inmates at the prison he worked at before then.
Ignoring his willingness to kill or have people killed for her, which probably should disturb her more than it does, Solana could talk to Roman for hours and never tire. Because his gaze is always on her, eye contact consistent, attention devoted solely to and on her. She can’t count how many times she’d be trying to talk to her parents or siblings about something, anything, only for them to always find something more important to redirect their focus to.
“I’m sorry, Sola.”
“There’s just a lot going on, sweetie.”
“Can we talk about this some other time? We will. I promise. I’m just….”
Reasons, when she was younger.
Excuses, now, at 27.
And, she doesn’t fault them, isn’t upset with them. It’s just realizing what void that caused for her is such an experience, especially when that void has been filled—and more—by a man ten years her senior and miles beyond what and who she usually goes for.
Amenable. Introverted. Lover of the arts. All qualities she could use to describe her exes, none of which could describe Roman.
Strong. Quiet. Brutal. There’s a strength about him she admires and gravitates to that has nothing to do with his massive build and rippling muscles. A story behind those warm brown eyes she could most definitely get used to waking up to. A man beneath the thing that is Roman Reigns.
A…..a man who, in the throes of chaos and destruction, sometimes seeks the silence and calm. A space she knows she provides him.
“It’s simple with you.” He’d once said as they lay in bed together, his strong arms around her, her head on his chest. Her fingers danced across the plane of his stomach.
Something told her he wasn’t talking about the silence of the room they lay in, either.
At the very beginning, she tried to tell herself he didn’t care. That she was nothing more than a source of entertainment for a man who has nothing better to do while waiting to be released from a sentence he “shouldn't” even be serving in the first place.
That thought process helped her justify her outrageous behavior just a little.
But, it was a thought that quickly started to be debunked when things started happening.
Like her being at home, in her quaint little apartment, only to receive a knock at her door one day with a delivery. Beautiful pink roses from the local florist. A card attached that simply read.
For my pretty girl.
-R
Moving past the shock of such a thoughtful gesture, Solana chalked it up to a singular act of kindness. Underserved, in her mind. But, appreciated, nonetheless.
And, then it happened again.
More flowers.
Flowers morphed into gifts. Expensive gifts. Someone who had a few select Kate Spade bags and a Michael Kors backpack gifted during college, Solana found herself on the receiving end of designer brands so fancy she couldn’t pronounce. And, the flowers remained a weekly thing as well, something she valued slightly more than the six to seven figure gifts.
Because he’d asked her what she liked, and she’d told him flowers. She told him, and he remembered. Not only did he remember, but he’d seemingly made it a mission of his to make it a thing. To make a small act of kindness a thing of normalcy.
And while she tried her best to not make too much of it, a man in prison showing her more adoration and appreciation compared to any of her exes, who were most definitely not serving a decade long sentence, is something she can’t avoid.
Can’t not acknowledge.
Doesn’t mean she hasn’t tried, because she has.
Solana has tried to break free from the addiction that is Roman Reigns.
Tried to avoid him as much as possible. A difficult thing on so many levels. Especially when he always seems to find a way inside of her infirmary and especially inside of her.
It was why she went out last weekend. Willing to test out that age old theory regarding how the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else.
It didn’t work. It was, somewhat, even as she made out with the random man whose name she can’t really remember. Melo, or something like that. But, the minute he started “stroking” her and boasting about how good it probably felt, it was a wrap.
Her thigh. He was stroking her thigh.
Solana went home alone that night, left early, needing to just be away from it all.
But, the fact that Roman knew about some of it, clearly not everything, comes at no surprise.
She knows he has people watching her. Has noticed the cars parked outside her parking complex. Seen the men that are almost always in not too far distance whenever she goes out. Even at the club that night.
He has a security detail on her.
Has had one on her for a while now.
Ever since that happened.
A fight broke out among inmates. Nothing out of the norm. A few were injured, hence several being transferred to medical. For some reason, she’s still unsure as to exactly how, a few of the prisoners weren’t properly secured. They weren’t shackled or cuffed, and it was as Solana went to disinfect a cut on one of them, he headbutted and punched her so hard that it knocked her out cold.
Solana came to hours later in the local hospital where she wasn’t released until the next morning, being treated for what she considered minor injuries. Though the nasty bruise that marred the left side of her face was far from minor.
As recommended by Dr. Stratus, she took the next few days off. It felt a bit unnecessary. Solana didn’t feel too impacted by what occurred. Having been in the nursing field a few years now, she’d seen and experienced a lot. It wasn’t necessarily the first time she’d been hurt on the job, but it also wasn’t something that kept her up. That had her feeling traumatized.
There was some level of anxiety when she returned to work a few days later, but it quickly subsided when she learned that same prisoner who attacked her was dead.
Found tortured and murdered in his cell.
That shook her a bit. But, not as much when Roman was brought to the infirmary, her room, and the first thing she noticed was the scraped skin of his knuckles. For all of the many times he finessed his way into coming to see her, never had he actually come with anything requiring any kind of medical attention.
And even then, there wasn’t much that needed to be done outside of some disinfecting.
But, he didn’t seem to give two shits about that.
He only seemed concerned with her. The minute the guards closed the door, he was before her. His big hands gently cupping her face, carefully turning her head to the side, examining the bruise that not even her most full coverage foundation could conceal.
His expression was a mixture of fury and regret. But, the fury couldn’t be felt not one bit as he pulled her into him, Solana initially confused but easily melting into comfort. She relished being in his strong embrace.
He kissed the top of her head, holding her, voice low and heavy with something unknown. “I’m sorry.”
To this day, she doesn’t know what exactly he was sorry for. She just knows that ever since that day, she’s had a security detail. It felt a little unnecessary and not even applicable, given she was injured on the job. Her “bodyguards” of sorts can’t really do anything to protect her when she’s on the clock.
But, Roman can.
It’s why she put two and two together, realizing Roman himself killed the man who hurt her. Every other life he’d claimed had been done indirectly. He’d used and ordered other people to carry out his fatal orders. But, this time….this time, he took it into his own hands.
He used his own hands to end the man’s life. Violently. Brutally. Graphically.
Why?
For her.
To send a clear message regarding what happens to anyone who dared to touch or try to hurt her.
Solana isn’t entirely certain, but she has a nagging suspicion that that was the moment it happened.
The moment she realized she was falling in love with Roman.
Roman, for all his faults, and there are many, is good to her. He protects her and gives her a sense of belonging. Makes her feel wanted, something she didn’t really realize she was craving so deeply until him.
Where she always just felt one of many with her family. With him, she’s one of one. She’s all he sees and all he wants.
The same way she feels about him.
While the sex is phenomenal and in the plenty whenever it’s just the two of them, he talks to and with her. Asks about her, about how she’s doing. He’s always been so interested and intrigued about all the things that make her her. And, he commits it all to memory. Locks it away for sake keeping and points of retrieval. If she casually mentions working on an art piece, the next time they’ll see each other, he’ll ask how it’s going.
If she mentions not feeling the best during an interaction at the prison, their EFV visit won’t be used for a “sexscapade.” They’ll talk, she’ll learn more about him, he learns about her. It’s almost entirely domestic. He won’t touch her, unless she asks, and even then, he’s intent on making sure that she’s sure it’s what she wants.
And, it’s those moments that make her realize somewhere along the way, she stopped falling in love with Roman Reigns.
She’s in love with Roman Reigns.
It’s all so fucked up. Everything about it. But, she’s too far gone, too deep into it to turn back now.
And a part of her still worries that this is all performative. That he’s saying and doing all the things he knows she wants to hear and receive just to get what he wants from her. That the moment Roman is finally released will be the moment she never hears or speak to him again. He’ll be back on his throne, and she’ll be left all alone, heartbroken, life in ruins, trying to put it all the shattered pieces back together.
Potentially with a baby in her stomach.
It’s a reality she should probably consider more than she does, if at all, but it’s a reality she refuses to acknowledge.
If that ends up being the devastating case, she’ll cross that bridge when they get there. When she gets there. Until then, she’ll enjoy this. Enjoy him. Enjoy them.
Because she’d give her all for him.
Even if just to be a distant memory.

Fandom: Hoyoverse’s Genshin Impact
Pairing: (Fem.)Reader x Malipo Kinich
Content Warnings: (A little NSFW) Suggestive scenario, Mentions of blood/injuries, Palming, Bandage over mouth? (What is that even called..hello?)
✦・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・✦ Kinich had the tendency to accept high-level commissions, going out of his way as one of the best adventurers for the harder jobs. In his own words: "If the pay is good, I'll do it.". That often included risky and dangerous missions, which meant his usual calculated outlook would sometimes run more reckless in order to complete the task. However, this was almost always at the expense of his own safety. And if you had anything to say about it, it was way too much.
"What happened this time?" you give him an unimpressed look, medkit in your lap, as you rummage through the half-used plastic case for the usual items. It won't be long until you have to restock on some body bandages, you note. "Nothing. Just got a little roughed up by one of the wild saurians," he sighs casually, as if his arm wasn't in the process of ruining your good bedsheets. "Right," you respond, "And how did that happen?" looking over at him, you see his gaze subsoncisously avoid yours, glancing around the walls of your room. "I got distracted," he states before trying to defend himself matter-of-factly, "I didn't plan well for the number of enemies that ended up cornering me.". You decide not to press any further and just continue rubbing disinfectant on the open wounds, applying a salve to a few burns here and there, and finally wrapping some bandages around his muscles. He pulls away once you're done, his gaze meeting yours for the first time since he came over. He eventually speaks up: "You don't have to lecture me," oh he was not starting that with you right now. "I can take care of myself." that same argument that kept looping everytime you found yourself worried sick about his work. "I've been to the Night Kingdom several times.." uh huh.. "...Something as small as this wouldn't be fatal for me..." or so he says... "..You should be able to trust me. It's not.." Words were going in one ear and out the other. Can he just... "..Seriously, there's no reasonable-" Shut up. Before he can utter out another word, you grab the roll of body bandage once more and pull on the edges, forming a long strand of the gauze, stretching it and placing it on his open mouth. "I was-hmph-?!" His words suddenly muffled. You quickly tie a knot around the back of his head and push him down onto the mattress from his previous sitting position. He goes down without a fight but leverages himself by leaning on his elbows, staring up at you with an unreadable expression, the bandage sitting on his lips without protest. "Enough. I'm sick of having the same conversation every damn time.". You scoff as you notice his eyes rolling at your statement. "Ok then Kinich," you smile to yourself, his own following the twitch of your lips, one of his eyebrows raising in response. Your hand moves out and reaches for the upper hem of his shirt, pulling down the small zipper, no longer obstructed by the usual garment's straps. His chin tips down to follow the movement as your fingers dip through the opening, caressing his collarbone. He audibly swallows, his throat bobbing as you trail further down, dragging the neckline with your movements. Soon, your other hand dips below the lower hem of his shirt, tracing his lower abdomen, drawing abstract shapes on his toned stomach, watching his reactions. That expression of casual arrogance he always wore slowly cracking, giving way to a slight furrow of his brows, his eyelids half shielding his eyes as they dilated to the ministrations on his own torso and flickered back up to you. oh, how good he looks right now. The messy hair, sticking out from a dischieveling battle, the small remnants of dirt and grime on his wounded arms, and the still prominent sweat on his temple from having hurried back here. You feel yourself pause, admiring him from below you, your grin widening almost mockingly. As you reach out further down near the start of his belt, you feel his hips shift, arching himself towards your touch, his eyes maintaining contact with yours all throughout. That same conflicted look on his face before his eyebrows dug a little higher into his forehead, looking absolutely delectable, something akin to desperate. ...maybe this argument wasn't so bad this time.
The palm of your hand teased lower, rocking in a small, controlled motion back and forth. His hips stitched, his head turning to the side. Longer strands of hair fell onto his face, revealing the dark crimson shading his ear. How cute. For someone who prides himself on being so confident, he sure doesn't seem like it now. As a puff of air escapes the bandage with a small moan accompanying it—You're starting to wonder if this was his plan from the beginning.

A Road Well Traveled (Azriel x Reader)
Part 2
Word Count: 1377 Warnings: Mild language, slight violence Part 1 Part 3
Tumblr media
Azriel turns his gaze towards Mor as she appears around the corner, his hand still holding yours, grounding you in the present moment. You watch as Mor's gasp fills the air, her eyes widening in surprise. Azriel can sense your nervous energy, your sudden need to flee, but your hand remains tightly held in his as if to say, you’re not going anywhere. Not again.
You let out a nervous chuckle, meeting Mor's brown eyes. "Hey, Mor," you greet softly, waiting to see your friend's next move. Mor stands frozen in place, her eyes wide with surprise as she gazes at you. But a moment later, she lunges forward, her arms encircling you in a fierce hug. "Is it really you?" She exclaims, her voice filled with relief and joy.
You release a held breath, letting go of Azriel's hand to wrap your own arms around the taller female, letting yourself feel the sweet relief of your friend's happiness at your return. Mor clings to you, her grip tight and possessive. "Where have you been?" she demands, her voice muffled against your shoulder. Mor pulls back slightly, her wide-eyed gaze roaming over your face, as if afraid you’d disappear if she looked away.
You smile sheepishly, pleasantly surprised that the sharp sting of jealousy from Mor's beauty never comes. "I've been traveling. Seen my fair share of the world now," the half lie comes out easier than expected. It was true enough, having seen breathtaking scenes that you could never hope to master in your sketchbook.
Mor leans back further, her hands still holding your shoulders as she studies your face, her gaze narrowing slightly. "Traveling, huh?" she muses, a hint of suspicion in her voice. But despite her questioning look, she grins, her earlier disbelief replaced with a glimmer of excitement. "You have to tell me all about it. Come on," she urges, grabbing your hand and tugging you towards the dining room.
You stammer, not getting a word in as you’re dragged along, Azriel trailing behind you as Mor leads you into the dining room. Six pairs of eyes land on you the moment your feet enter the room, and you’re sure you’ve stopped breathing entirely.
Cassian, Rhysand, and several unknown strangers' eyes all widen in surprise at your sudden appearance in the room, their expressions varying from shock to joy. For a brief moment, the room is eerily silent, only the crackling fire in the hearth providing noise.
Finally, Rhysand stands from his seat, his gaze taking in your form. "Well, I'll be damned," he breathes out, a stunned smile playing on his lips.
You slowly smile back, taking in his healthy appearance. You had left before he had been trapped Under the Mountain, the word of the Night Court's fearsome High Lord reached you. Stories of the war with Hybern followed not too long after. Standing before you now though, he looked good. Happy. A gorgeous female had been seated next to him, her curious blue eyes assessing you. That must be Feyre. You dip your head towards your High Lord. "Rhys. Happiness suits you, friend," you meet his violet gaze, smiling sincerely.
Rhysand's lips twist into a cocky smirk in response to your greeting, his eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. He gestures to the female beside him, saying, "Allow me to introduce my mate, Feyre."
Feyre, who had been quietly observing the interaction, smiles warmly and offers a polite nod in greeting. "It's nice to meet you," she says softly, her voice warm and gentle, a contrast to Rhysand's rough yet charming demeanor.
"Pleasure is mine, my High Lady," you bow your head, giving her the respect she rightly deserved from all you’ve heard. The reason why Prythian had been set free. Feyre's eyes soften at the gesture, a small smile playing on her lips. "Please, there's no need to be so formal," she says gently, her voice carrying a note of warmth.
Cassian snorts from his seat closest to Rhysand, his gaze roaming over you before settling on your face. "Formal? From the female who disappeared without a word for years. No letter, no sign, nothing. Sounds pretty informal to me."
Your smile fades as you meet Cassian's narrowed eyes. You hadn't expected him to be the one to hold a grudge against you. Though you couldn't blame him. "Cass," you greet softly, wary eyes holding his gaze.
Cassian crosses his arms, his eyes narrowing as he studies you, a mixture of emotions flickering across his face. "Don't 'Cass' me. Where have you been, you little shadow of a fae?" he demands, his voice gruff and tinged with annoyance.
Rhysand and Feyre exchange a glance, noticing the tension between you and Cassian. Even Azriel remains motionless, his gaze fixed on the interaction. The female next to him, you assumed Nesta, grabbed her wine glass and sipped with a hint of excitement. Amren watched from the other end of the table, not having said a word since you’ve entered.
"I've been around," you say carefully, lifting your head up. No matter how upset he was with you, he was one of your closest friends beside Azriel. He'd come around, you were sure of it. They all would. They’d understand.
Cassian huffs, his arms crossing over his chest. "Around, huh? Nice vague answer, really helps explain the past few years," he retorts, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Rhysand watches them both, a knowing look in his eyes. He glances at Azriel, noticing how his shadows seem to hover protectively around your form, silently offering support. Mor promptly picks up her wine glass, knowing the inevitable outcome.
"Don't think I still can't land you on your ass, Cassian," you say firmly, familiar power reeling up inside you. You had trained with them at a young age, knowing how to hold your own was an understatement. You had knocked each of the males around the table down a peg or two through the centuries. You had no problem doing it again.
Cassian's eyes narrow dangerously, his mouth pulling into a snarl at your comment. He leans forward, the gleam of challenge in his eyes. "Oh, really? You think you can still take me on, after all this time? After 76 years!?" he mocks, his gaze flicking to your curled fist.
You gave in to Cassian's provoking, leaning forward as your eyes lit up with that fury you kept such a tight leash on. "I can take you on with twice as much ease." The deadly seriousness in which you spoke heated the room. A strange darkness seemed to have settled over you, leeching throughout the room. Everyone felt the subtle twitch of fury spiking in their own bodies. Rhysand narrowed his eyes, but said nothing.
Cassian's smirk widened, his eyes glinting with excitement at your response. "Oh, really? You think you can beat me?" he taunted, his hand gripping the back of the chair tightly as he slowly stood. The others in the room remained silent, their gazes moving between you and Cassian, anticipating a potential sparring match. Feyre glanced at Mor and Amren, deciding to pick up her own wine glass, just in case.
You moved across the room in a blink of an eye, landing a solid blow upon his chest. His feet lift from the ground, before he's falling through the air and landing on his ass. You look down at him, the feral energy you’ve kept at bay for so long wrapping around you, making it hard to breathe as you narrow your fierce eyes.
Cassian hits the ground hard, a surprised grunt escaping him as he lands on his ass. He stares up at you, a mixture of shock and awe replacing the earlier annoyance and anger. A slow grin spreads across his face, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Not too bad," he says, pushing himself off the ground and dusting himself off. "I guess some things don't change." Rhysand and the others watch the interaction, their expressions ranging from surprise to amusement.
You blink, the power fading from your limbs just as quickly and you step away, looking nervous. "I'm sorry, Cass. I really am," you say softly. Maybe you shouldn’t have come back. You’re not ready.

For her…
syn: a certain time of year was particularly hard for Toji, and you start to understand why..
cw: angst. grief. mamaguro🥹🕊️
a/n: idk..was in my feels today i guess🫠 relax and enjoy some bittersweetness with me
No one ever flat out told you why one day out of the year was just…different..at the Fushiguro house.
You were pretty perceptive of the change in Toji’s demeanor. The melancholic sheen over his eyes when he’d look at you, barely holding eye contact when you asked him a question and him being dismissive if it had anything to do with how he was acting.
He wasn’t mean or less patient with you or Megumi. He was just..different. He didn't say much. His laughter sounded a tad off, even forced at times. He slept a bit longer, usually blaming it on a recent job or his age, jokingly of course.
He moved around as if he operated on autopilot, unlike the agile and conscientious man you’d learned Toji to be . You’d catch him zoning out alot or being a little more forgetful than usual. Less focused, as if his mind was somewhere far away. Another place. Another time.
One summer morning you noticed a bottle of strawberry soda in the back of the fridge, tucked behind several items as if it were purposely placed there. Hidden. You’d only seen it because Megumi struggled to reach something on the same shelf, so you helped him You'd been meaning to ask Toji since when he even iiked that brand, seeing as how you never saw him or Megs drink it. You didn’t know him to be much of a soda drinker unless it was the occasional Coke on a scalding hot day.
But when you went back the next day to find it, it was gone. When you finally asked him about it, he’d just say he got it for Megs but he never drank it, and it had been in there for a while so he threw it out. That would have been believable if you didn’t find the same bottle hidden a little better in the back of the fridge again that following year around the same time.
“It's for my mom.” Megumi’s raspy voice makes you flinch from where he spooked you on the other side of the door. He was now tall enough to see over it, his lithe form springing up with each passing day it seemed. You blinked at him in surprise, your mouth gaping and in search of a reasonable excuse to be holding the soda that you’d dug out from the depths of the ice box. The chilled glass bottle was clutched against your chest when the spikey-headed boy stepped towards the open fridge to reach around you for a yogurt drink.
"Oh...I wasn't.." you stammered, only for the broody adolescent to interrupt you.
“It's her birthday tomorrow,” Megumi mutters shortly after he peels the cap back a little to take a sip, not saying anything else about the soda before walking away.
You watched him exit the kitchen in silence, an odd sensation tingling in your chest. You never heard Megumi speak of his late mother. Not even when he was smaller. From what you know, Toji's wife passed away shortly after Megumi was born. Something about an underlying heart condition that worsened after giving birth. Megs wasn't even a year old yet, so it made some sense that he didn't speak of her. He probably had no memories of his mother and was always accustomed to it just being him and his dad.
Until now at least...
Your attention returns to the soda, its slow-rising bubbles lining the neck of the glass bottle as you turn it slowly in your hand.
So every year, around his late wife's birthday, Toji bought the same brand of strawberry soda. For her.
Now that you thought of it, there was always this errand he’d always have to run on a certain day every year. Too consumed with life and work, you didn't realize it was on the same day. Every year.
An errand that would take him far out of the city very early in the morning.
You would roll over in the bed groggily, noting Toji sitting on the edge of his side. He’d be leaned over, lacing up his boots, fully dressed and smelling good. You knew sometimes he and Shiu would meet up early to discuss business so you never asked for details when he'd kiss your forehead goodbye.
He always came back to you around noon with a bouquet of sunflowers and red roses though, from a shop way out of the way, with a card that would read the same thing every time.
For you, just because <3
Toji knew you loved them and it made you less curious about his mysterious errand when he came back bearing gifts. In hindsight, you felt stupid and selfish for thinking they were 'just because' flowers now that you knew what this day meant to him.
Especially when you looked up the flower shop and found out it was less than a mile away from a cemetery.
That was why one year, days before he could find time to go to the store, and days after he gave you the heads up on his early morning errand, Toji found the newly bought bottle of strawberry soda in the fridge. You weren't around when he found it, which made the lump in Toji's throat even thicker at the realization.
He never really told you that every July 7th, he would visit a little florist's shop at the edge of a small town an hour away, where the owner would have a special arrangement that Toji ordered every year waiting for him. Preserved lilies and pink roses, a small bag of items from the convenience store across the street, and two glass bottles of soda (one strawberry and one Coke ) rest in his passenger seat for another 3 to 5 minutes as he pulls into the parking space that was always empty.
The morning sun warms his skin on his walk across the grass. Flowers, and plastic bag in tow, Toji steps with purpose on his way to his wife's grave. For a few minutes, he takes his time using the items in the small bag to scrub and rinse any dirt or grime tainting the granite. In the early years, Toji would visit and clean her grave stone frequently. He’d even bring baby Megumi with him since they still lived in the small town. The place where he and his wife made a life together.
But one day, after about 2 years had passed and Megumi became more active, Toji he realized that staying stuck in his grief was causing him to miss out on being mentally present in his child’s life.
And he knew she wouldn’t want that..
So he came alone now, placing the flowers down to replace the ones that had withered away, along with the opened bottle of strawberry soda nestled perfectly in the grass.
Toji squats to sit in front of the grave with his own beverage dangling between his knuckles, popping the cap off with his teeth and leaning forward to clink it gently against his wife's before taking a sip.
He would then spend about an hour or more just sitting there. Usually, he'd talk, not caring about how awkward it felt anymore.
He'd start out by wishing her happy birthday and telling her about how big Megumi is getting. How much he looks like her and all the little quirks he has that remind him of her. How smart and independent he is and how he takes care of his dad just as much as his dad takes care of him. He tells her about how he is doing. About his health and any recent injuries or ailments as a result of his job. He'd leave out what he still did to make money, even though he was sure she already knew. He'd talk about how getting older isn't as scary to him as it used to be, especially when he had someone that made him feel young again.
He'd tell her about how you came into his life and how hesitant he was about allowing you into his heart. Not that he had much of a choice. You just made it that easy. Leading with friendship, fostering a bond that wasn’t driven by lust or uninhibited emotions. Showing up for Megumi when he couldn’t due to work or making sure the both of them were taking proper care of themselves.
It always stuck in his mind how you never let his trauma or baggage scare you away, even if it should have, and how much your presence changed the way he saw love and life after losing someone so precious.
He would express the guilt he felt in loving you and her simultaneously. He didn't understand it. It wasn't as if there was a hierarchy in his heart, ranking one person over the other. He just couldn’t do that when he loved you both im different ways. It was just as if his heart had grown and all that she taught him about love years ago allowed more to pour in, making space for you.
He'd thank her for being his first love and for giving him the greatest gifts he could ever ask for. For teaching him how to love, and in turn, how to be loved as well.
That part of his conversation always got him emotional, and a breeze that didn’t touch anything but him with blow over his tearstained face. Even his hair would be tussled, reminiscent of the way his wife would tease his messy raven tresses in attempt to cheer him up.
Then he would smile, clear his throat and tell her he’d be back this time next year before rising to stand.
On his drive back, he’d glance at the new custom bouquet of sunflowers and red roses now in his passenger, his heart still twinged with a confusing mixture of guilt and relief riddling him. Relief to be leaving that small old town that only reminded him of a life that was now over. The life he thought would last much longer than it did. Every place held a memory that was colored yellow and blue in his mind, stored deep but never forgotten.
His guilt came mostly from the fact that he never could find a way to tell you why the birthday of his late wife was so hard for him and why he just needed to make that yearly trip on his own to visit her.
So one could only imagine the shock Toji felt that following year when he opened his fridge and found his late wife’s favorite soda.
Front and center. Not hidden or tucked away in the back. Unseen and easily forgotten. With a yellow sticky note placed over the label, easy to see and read.
In your handwriting…
For her, just because <3

ok this one may be a little off putting BUT
Spencer, going out with the bau clubbing and bau!reader is getting absolutely hammered throughout the night bc of em and jj, and eventually it leads to the responsibility of him taking the reader home but the reader is trashed and feels gross so she wants to take a shower and basically begs spencer to get in the shower with her to wash her hair.
love u have a great dayyyyyyy 🤍🦆
Spencer the germaphobe would have never thought he'd have his nails raking through unwashed hair that was not his own. He takes solace in the bubbles frothing at his fingertips, an assurance that he's cleaning your hair, not just spreading the filth from the club through its strands, but it's still several steps to the left of his comfort zone.
If it were anyone else, he would have said a very firm, but kind, no, and he may have gagged as soon as they were out of earshot. But it was you, and you looked at him with your pretty eyes, your pretty sad eyes, your pretty tired eyes, and asked him to please help you clean yourself up before bed, because you'd just washed your sheets and you didn't want to dirty them with the remnants of a night out.
He reasons that designated driver duties included walking you to your door, getting you a glass of water for the morning, and locking your apartment behind him, but he hadn't planned on helping you shower. That he had only agreed to under extreme stress (those pretty, sad, tired eyes he can't stop thinking about) and it's how he finds himself now crouched on the lid of your toilet, scrubbing suds through your hair.
"Thanks, Spence," You groan, feeling his nails rake across your scalp, "I was- I dunno how I was gonna do this without you. I'm dizzy."
It's a concerning observation to be made while cross-legged on the ground and not tired with the effort of standing up, but Spencer reasons that you'll feel better after a night's sleep. A night that he's not sure he can let you spend alone for fear of you choking on your own sick.
You've taken to resting your flushed forehead against Spencer's calf, and it's leaving a soapy stain on his poor excuse for social wear. The only two types of pants that he owns are slacks and pajama pants, and he's not sure he'll be able to properly clean this pair anymore. But he doesn't push you off - in fact, he takes note of the feeling of your touch against his leg.
"I'm cold," You shiver in place, despite the warm water flowing around you, as well as the clothes still on your body, now soaked. Thankfully you'd retained enough of your brainpower to know not to strip in front of Spencer, and he's grateful that he didn't need to enforce the matter.
"You're still dressed," He muses, taking the showerhead and rinsing his hands, then turning it on the mass of bubbles atop your head, "You'll be in pajamas soon."
"M'kay," You accept, even though Spencer can still see goosebumps on your exposed forearms from the cold, "Will you help me change?"
Perhaps you had not retained as much of your brainpower as Spencer thought you had.
"Uh," He stammers, "focused on a patch of suds near the nape of your neck, "Do you think you could- um, do it yourself?"
"I guess. Maybe. I don't know," You laugh at the absurdity of your own statements, "What, you don't wanna see me naked?"
"Y/N!" He gushes, cheeks burning hotter than the water that's pooling around your form on the floor of your shower, "No, I- I mean not while- not now! You're drunk."
"I only got drunk so I'd finally man up and make a move," You grumble against his calf, and Spencer's previously racing heart stops beating altogether, "Just- tell me I said that tomorrow, okay Spence? I'm gonna be pissed at- uh, at me if I forgot."
Spencer agrees with all the niceties that he's learned in dealing with the public, an empty promise falling from his lips when all else fails him, "Okay, I will."
"Liar," You accuse, your nose still nestled snugly against his leg, "This sucks. We're both too scared to make a move. Maybe we should both get shitfaced, and just buy a Plan B the next morning."
Spencer is well and truly speechless. He has several options as to his next response, if he can ever muster up the courage to enact them: an awkward laugh, a strained chuckle, prolonged silence. Instead of choosing any of those he swallows, the action almost hurting his now-dry throat, "Uh- Plan B can interfere with your next menstrual cycle, and there's a host of other side effects that aren't ideal for you."
"Fine." You snort, "We'll keep the baby."

“Damian? Dami?”
Danny poked his head in through the door of the one of many living rooms in the manor. The lights above were off, but a few other fixtures had been positioned to cut jagged beams across the floor. The overall result left the back wall in a curtain of angular shadow. Only one shaded lamp broke it up, the small illuminated circumference revealing part of the desk it sat on and the chair behind it.
A chair in which Damian swiveled around to face him, visage dramatically lit from beneath.
“Daniel.”
“Danny.” The response was automatic, absentminded, and quiet as he stepped fully into the room. This certainly wasn’t what he was expecting.
“I saw the note. About borrowing one of my models? Sooooo, think I can get it back now?”
“Of course Danny.” His model spaceship was slid in front of the dim glow on the desktop. “I’m grateful to you for letting me borrow it. It is very well made indeed.”
“Cool. Coooolllll. Then don’t mind me while I just-” He tentatively approached one step closer.
“So well made in fact that I thought I would make a proposition.”
Danny’s eyebrows shot up into his hairline, but Damian pressed on before he could manage a response.
“I recently came into possession of certain… items, that I believe would be of great interest to you.”
A box was slid into view of the lamplight this time. Danny audibly gasped when his mind processed the brand and model number in prominent display.
“How did you get the newest satellite model already!? They’ve been sold out everywhere!”
“I have my ways Danny. And it could be yours if you so choose.”
It took great effort for Danny to tear his eyes away from the box and back to Damian, half-alive brain working just enough to still be suspicious.
“...Alright then. What kind of deal are you looking for? Free sneak out of the manor? Help with pranking someone? Messing with B’s stuff-”
“I think you know exactly what I want Danny.”
The response was a weary sigh. “Dami, we talked about this. I know you take good care of your pets but-”
“You keep Cujo as a pet, and he’s capable of far more damage than a blob-ghost.”
“Yes, but I also trust Cujo to know how to go home through a portal on his own. I don’t wanna risk one sticking around where it shouldn’t.”
Damian turned his chin-up further in defiance, gaze steady as another box slid into view.
“I know you have your reasons Danny. But are you certain there’s nothing I can do to convince you?”
Danny sucked in a breath. “How? Where?”
“Unimportant. What is important is whether you think this ordeal is really worth the trouble over concern for a creature that would be looked after with the utmost attention in the first place.”
He bit the inside of his lip, holding back the urge to float over and stare at the impossibly rare model kits. This was fine. He didn’t need to have them. They definitely weren’t on his wishlist for months before they had even been listed for purchase online.
“Dami. Please.”
Danny stared at Damian. Damian stared at Danny. The two held eye contact for several seconds before Damian finally looked away with a pout. Danny tried to give a placating smile in return as he approached the other boy and ruffled his hair.
“Come on baby bat. We can go take over the TV and watch something.”
Damian sniffed. “Fine. I guess it’s just a shame that I’ll have to return this.”
There was a burst of white light as Damian turned the tablet in his hands to show the order page it displayed to Danny. He felt his eyes bulge, mouth clicking open and shut several times as he tried to form a coherent thought.
……
Bruce wouldn’t notice just one blob-ghost would he?

@breannasfluff boop.
I tried.
Also lost track of the initial prompt list that sparked this.
And probably shouldn't have chosen to write this so close to when I go to bed.
AND probably should have double checked how to properly format text around dialogue.

The Calm After The Storm

You scrub a hand down your face, as if it could wipe away all the stress and overwhelm from the last few days. Booking flights, packing bags, wrapping gifts, dealing with your parents' nagging and your extended family's... whole deal. You can't wait to go back home.
Sylus sighs as he settles down beside you. His arm immediately wraps around your shoulders, drawing you into his side where you belong.
He's been your rock through all of this. When you start to lose your head to the holiday season, he's there to reel you back in. It was a real catch 22, though. He could be there to block your family's questions and interrogations, but that only brought more questions to the surface.
How did you two meet? How long have you been together? When is he going to propose? Will we finally have some grandkids? Why isn't he with his family? How big is he? (Asked by your great grandmother, utterly shamelessly.) And on, and on, and on.
For all the headache it brought you, he didn't seem too phased by the excitement. With all the grace of a businessman, he deflects, redirects, and obfuscates just enough to satisfy their questions without giving them too much of a rope to tug on.
Now that you've finally got a moment to yourself - all your relatives gone, your parents off to bed - all you want to do is sit on the couch and come down from it all.
Sylus is quiet. You know it's for your sake, to give you all the (metaphorical) space you need. All the power is in your hands to start a conversation. All he does is hold you close, rub circles into your arm, and offer you the wine glass in his other hand.
You grin wryly as you accept it. It's fruity, sweet - definitely not to his tastes. "Is this the one my nana got you?"
"Mhm," he hums. "It's a nice gesture."
You chuckle. "She had no idea what to get you. I mentioned that you like to drink, but she's... Well, she tends to gift other people things she likes."
You settle deeper against him, cradling the glass to yourself as you lean your head against his shoulder. He presses a tender kiss to your head.
"Is it always that chaotic?"
"No." You tilt your head up to look at him. "It's usually a lot worse."
He chuckles lowly. "I'm glad they were on their best behavior for me, then." He brushes his nose against yours, drawing out the peace of the moment just a while longer. He's had to severely cut back on how affectionate he gets to be with you to avoid encouraging even more marriage and children questions; he really wants to savor this for as long as possible.
The lights of the Christmas tree in the living room dance across the planes of his face. Every now and then, the red catches on his iris. Or the gold does, and gives him a draconic look. He's beautiful. Ethereal. Your cousin took one look at him, at his arm lazily wrapped around your waist, and gaped in awe at you. The only reason she couldn't get a chance to get Sylus alone and try to steal him is because he was too insistent on staying by your side through it all, whispering teasing remarks in your ear and making sure you weren't about to have a panic attack.
It felt really good being able to put her in her place at dinner, when she purposefully vied for the seat beside Sylus's. He'd ignored her the whole time, save for a politely dismissive phrase or two. After she stole your boyfriend from you in 9th grade pulling the same stunts that she tried tonight, you had no sympathy for the teary-eyed pout she pulled on her way out the door.
You lean up that last little bit. He ducks his head down to ease the strain on your neck, meeting you in a honeyed kiss. Sweet, warm and unhurried. You taste like the wine, hints of the bitter alcoholic sting softened by the fruity sweetness clinging to your lips. This may be his new favorite wine, if only for the way it tastes on you.
You pull away slowly. He leaves a few chaste kisses on your lips, chasing after the lingering sweetness, before finally humming his satisfaction. As soon as you both get home, he's going to make up for all the lost time. For now, he tucks your head under his chin, holds you in front of the tree, and basks in his first Christmas spent with you.
"Merry Christmas, Sy."
"Merry Christmas, sweetheart." He can't wait to celebrate with you again next year, crazy family and all.
You take a slow sip of the wine, basking in the silence for all of one minute. “Sy?”
“Mhm?”
“We’re taking the jet back home. I can’t be sat sandwiched between two screaming babies again.”

May 1st 1993. The day Severus’ most anticipated had finally rolled around once more. The first of every month had always been the day the potions master replenished the stock in his ingredient’s cupboard, but in recent years it had quickly become his favourite day for a very different reason. While he never had a close relationship with Professor Sprout, Snape found himself taking a liking to the newest member of the Herbology department, Y/N.
Bubbly, energetic and endlessly optimistic, she was everything Severus was not, this however, had never deterred her from forming a friendship with the man. Severus found that people often shied away from talking to him, simply because they were intimated by him. He had almost convinced himself he preferred it that way. Until, of course, Y/N, took the time to get to know him, never once allowing her opinion of him to be influenced by the other staff members at Hogwarts.
She had integrity. Yet another addition to her list of attributes.
While Pamona had left Severus to help himself to her crops and plants, Y/N remained by his side while he went about his business, even going as far as to ask him in advance what ingredients he might need growing the following month to save him travelling into Hogsmeade.
“Severus.” She beamed. “Back so soon?”
“It doesn’t feel so quick to me.” He mumbled, embarrassed by how much he looked forward to this day. Of course, they saw each other at meal times and in the school halls but the first of the month remained a day for just the two of them.
“What can I get you this fine morning?”
Severus reached into his inner robe pocket, brandishing a hastily scrawled note intended for his eyes only. Before he even had a second to read the first word on the parchment it was whipped from his fingers and Y/N was already bounding down the length of the greenhouse.
Severus couldn’t help but admire the way her hips swung back and forth as she skipped away, it was something that piqued his interest more and more these days. He found himself always noting the movement of her lips as she spoke, the curve of her rear when she bent over a plant bed, the softness of her hands when they innocently brushed his.
“Alihotsy leaves. How many?”
“How much do you have?”
Y/N counted the red spotted leaves on the Hyena tree. “26.”
“I’ll take them all.”
“You’re lucky I like you so much, Severus. Pamona never would have allowed you to clear her out like this.”
“And that, my dear, is exactly why I come to you and not Pamona.”
Y/N blushed at his words, adding the leaves to her small wicker basket.
“And hear I thought we were friends, meanwhile you’ve just been using me for my gardening skills.” She pouted playfully, looking up through her eyelashes at the man nearly twice her height.
“What’s next?” He asked trying to distract himself from her doe-like eyes.
“Silverweed.”
“I’ll only need four of those, I still have some left over from last month.”
“Not a problem, what about Mandrake root are you needing any of that?”
Severus shook his head.
The pair made their way through several greenhouses gradually working his way down the list, Y/N adding each item to her little basket until it was bulging with plants of all different varieties.
“Well, if that’s everything…” The witch trailed off, handing Snape her basket.
“Thank you, Y/n. It’s been a joy as always.”
“So, see you next month?”
As it always did when their time came to an end, Severus’ heart raced and his mind buzzed trying to come up with a reason to extend his stay, only to come up empty once again.
“Next month.” He nodded.
The professor turned to leave with his new stock, feeling a little disheartened with himself.
“I’ve been experimenting!” Y/N suddenly blurted, catching her colleague by surprise.
“Sorry?” Snape raised an eyebrow inquisitively.
“I’ve been experimenting with some new plants; do you want to see them?” She elaborated.
A smile threated to break out across Severus’ features, but he managed to contain it to a small smirk.
“I’d love to.”
“Great!”
Practically vibrating with excitement, the herbology professor hopped towards Snape, grabbing him by the arm and leading him back into the depth of the greenhouses. “I’ve been trying out loads of new plants, but only a few of them have been working for me. Pamona said she’ll help me on my next round of knotgrass but I think it’ll take a while to perfect it. Oh, and did I mention the first years are potting their mandrakes tomorrow, how exciting is that! It’s always my favourite lesson to teach. Except when one student inevitably faints, but can I blame them I know I would have been the exact same when I was that age. Too curious for my own good my mother always used to say.”
Severus allowed Y/N to ramble on as she always did when she was excited about something, it was another reason why he loved spending time with her so much. She would talk for hours and he would listen intently, never boring of what she had to say. Similarly, Y/N never complained about how little Severus added to their conversation. She knew, despite how little he said, he was genuinely interested in what she had to say.
Y/N stopped in front of a sad looking plot of Gurdyroot, her face dropping at the sight of them.
“They should have been ready to pick today, looks like they’ll need uprooted instead. I’m still getting the hang of all the nuances, you know?”
“You’ll get there, it all comes with practice.”
“I know, I just wish it came as naturally to me as it does to Professor Sprout.”
“Hard work is more admirable than natural ability in my opinion.”
“It’s always baffled me, you know?”
“What?” Snapes eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
“Why you chose to come to me instead of her. You two had been working together for years, you don’t strike me as a man who breaks routine easily.”
“Let’s just say it was time for a change.” He commented. “Our working relationship had run its course.”
“Does that mean you’ll eventually trade me in for a younger model?” Y/N crossed her arms over her chest in defence, only half joking with her accusation.
“Never.” He smirked, though his eyes remained serious, boring into hers like he could never will himself to look away.
“Wait until you see my prized plant.” Y/N diverted, the intensity of Snape’s gaze becoming overwhelming. “Now these turned out beautifully.”
Severus stared down at the plant, recognising it immediately by its vibrant lavender florets and deep black berries. Belladonna. She was right, they had turned out perfectly. He doubted even Pamona Sprout could grow the plant quite so flawlessly.
Distracted in his thoughts of the woman’s craftsmanship, Severus failed to notice why exactly Y/N had now taken to dancing around the greenhouse, swatting at the air.
“Shoo. Shoo.” She repeated, flapping her hands around aimlessly.
“What exactly are you doing, Y/N?”
“Those damn bees are back.” She huffed. “They think the flowers have pollen in them, it doesn’t matter how much insecticide I spray they just keeping bac- Ouch.”
Y/N retracted her hand quickly, clutching her palm to her chest. The woman’s eyes went wide,  locking on to Severus’ in a panic.
“What was that, what happened?” He rushed.
“Nothing. I just cut my hand…I’ll be fine.”
“How did you cut it? Is it a bee sting or was it the plant?”
“A bee sting. It must have been, surely.”
“Are you absolutely positive?” His heart was really racing now. He was desperate to check out her wound, but didn’t want to overstep her boundaries.
Silence fell as Y/N merely shook her head in response, her eyes on the verge of tears.
“Show it to me.” Snape demanded, reaching for her arm.
Though the plant had only nicked her and her cut was relatively small, Severus knew better than to play it down.
“We need to go to my office. Now.”
“I’ll be fine Severus, it barely broke the skin, I’m sure it won’t affect me.”
“I’m not taking that chance.”
Deadly Nightshade, otherwise known as Belladonna, is toxic to the touch, once entered into your bloodstream however, the effects can be fatal. Severus could tell by the look on Y/N’s face this exact thought was crossing through her mind also. He’d be damned if he let anything happen to this woman on his watch. He had an antidote and he wasn’t about to start taking chances.
Erratically rummaging through his stores of ready-made potions, Severus finally selected a green coloured vial.
“Take this.” He ordered, handing the witch the vial.
“Thank you, Severus. What would I do without you.” She forced a laugh past the lump in her throat.
“Have the sense to wear some gloves, hopefully.”
“I’m so sorry, Severus. It was a foolish mistake, I know. I just get so forgetful sometimes, and when I’m around you…”
“Hush. And Drink.” He repeated, saving her from saying something she might regret in the heat of the moment. Severus took his seat next to her, subconsciously leaning into the warmth of her body. “Let me see your hand.”
The potions master uncapped a second bottle of liquid, pouring the contents onto his own hand before treating Y/N’s wound.
“What’s that?”
“It’s a cream infused with the essence of rue. It’ll target the poison right at the source.”
Severus rubbed a calloused thumb over her supple palm, meticulously massaging the cream into her skin. The pair became distracted by his movements, and the unfamiliar touch of the other’s hand.
“That feels good.” Y/N hummed.
“I’m glad.” Snape swallowed nervously, not daring to make eye contact with her.
“You didn’t have to go to all this bother, you know. I’m sure Madam Pomfrey would have had supplies for this sort of thing.”
“Madam Pomfrey gets her supplies from unreliable potioneers in Diagon Alley. Besides, I wouldn’t trust anyone else to do this properly.”
“You’re sweet to me, Severus.” The witch smiled. “I don’t imagine you’re this sweet to everyone.”
Snape’s movements faltered.
“We’re friends.” He clarified.
“Are we?” She stared up at him through those big full eyelashes, batting them in the way that made his heart flutter.
“Of course, we are.” He cleared his throat. “What else would we be?”
“Something more.”
The words escaped her mouth as a whisper, almost inaudible to the point where Severus was beginning to think she hadn’t said them at all.
“I like you, Severus. And I think you might like me.” She clarified.
Severus Snape couldn’t even begin to find the words to tell this woman how he felt about her. How much he admired and appreciated her. How he waited each month just to get to spend one morning with her. How he thinks she might even be the first woman he’s loved in a very long time.
Instead, he simply raised her hand to his mouth, planting a single delicate kiss on the tip of her knuckles.
“Well then.” She grinned, not needing any more of an explanation. Placing her hands on either side of his face Y/N planted a kiss squarely on Severus’ lips. “Let’s be something more.”

How does the virus function? Patient zero is the most affected at the moment with it having near total control over her, more as a suggestive force that alters her inhibitions and exploits any vulnerabilities (her relationship with pomni) , but the fucking brainworms™ are more than willing to wipe the slate clean if the host starts to question the delusion too much and make them complacent with delusion. however, it seems entirely beholden to its host, and if the host decide it wants to die, well said fucking brainworms™ are doomed. the effects seem to vary from host to host, for gangle it was like a parasite that she just had to remove, for jax it seems to make him almost feral (most likely manipulating memories to increase aggression) as for kinger, it seems to be almost binding, like the virus is struggling to organize the code and more unable to actively attack. does it act similar to a fungus? Building a network of hosts and carriers who function according to degree of infection, since ragatha seems more then capable of understanding them it would suggest more of a hivemind network. Ragatha is at the later (potentially final stages) of the infection, much like how a fungus replaces peices of its host, and when the primary host dies, would it migrate to one of the other hosts, making them sort of carriers. players and npcs are extremely complex that the fucking brainworms™ are more than able to attach to and gradually replace (like the ship of thesus) but what happens if it infects something else, say Gangle's mask. while it's not a player character, it is both a player model, and a player asset that affects behavior. if say the fucking brainworms™ were wiped out via washing machine. could it build its own self from that character model with the pieces its ripped from the others, Gangles ribbon like movement, Jax's sight, and so forth. ultimately i wonder if the virus is more like a virological pathogen, akin to flu, or more organized and fungal in nature. and if it is organized, how organized, is it capable of forming a hivemind? (Sorry for the tangent, and the wall of text, can't wait to see more!)
oh boy ! wonderful questions , this is going to also be a long one .
the reason i often call it The Evil Fucking Worms is because it's based off Computer Worms ! (: it's not one-to-one as the influence Needs a host unlike actual computer worms , but they do share the need to spread , infiltrating Several potential hosts , and being a pain in the Ass to remove .
which means it is essentially an Evil Digital ( Kind Of ) Fungus . it latches itself into a host , have them spread the virus , and create a network ! however it inevitably means they have a top-down approach ..... so the entire thing will Fall Apart if the host goes ...... they are capable of migrating , of course , but that thing's Not immediate . if ragatha was shot in the head , either by someone else or her own volition , the virus instantly goes away and the circus is saved !!!!! we also have one casualty but let's not talk about that —
it's not smart . if they were in the virus olympics they would score last place . but in all fairness , they aren't Sentient or have Consciousness . they're just Functions trying to complete the specific task of Infecting . i like to think that in the process of taking over their host to create an exit , they got stuck . and tried to solve the problem by essentially going Oh Shit Oh Fuck just keep spreading I'm sure it'll solve the issue ( It Didn't )
so even if it infected a player model nothing would happen if the primary host got anti-virus'd . on another note , i feel a player model getting infected first would indirectly infect the player it's connected to . and subsequently make them the primary host .
player models , to me , are pieces that connect to a whole , and the player's brain is a part of that whole unfortunately .
i do Love the idea of it building itself a body through the pieces it ( read : ragatha ) took from the others , though , but it relies too much on its primary host to even bother with that kind of thing . unlike real worms they aren't really smart . they lowkey kind of dumb ...... if they manifest they would just be a tiny squishy centipede ( or whatever other animal that would thematically be consistent with its host ) ..... ragatha's the only one with the braincell ....
a hivemind used to be possible , but i've downplayed a LOT of the virus because i wanted to give ragatha more agency — because i think it's more interesting if she Does things rather than Taking Orders from the worms in her brain . of course she would Never do this shit without the worms in her head , but she's not like being directly commanded to Kill y'know . right now , the only thing that's Kind Of hivemind-like is the infected being able to understand each other .

Hi! Was just wondering if you could do mark x rex x gn!reader hcs where reader basically are/has the personality of blue diamond (from steven universe) story/scenario can be completely up to you! :3
Tumblr media
Note: This took me so long because I have never watched Steven Universe so I was researching it... then i got hit with being sick because of my medication.. it was a lot. Sorry for any errors I got in this, I tried my best with what I could comprehend lol.
Ship: Rex x Gn!Reader x Mark
Fandom: Invincible
Warnings: None
This is a small drabble I was able to do after rewriting this a few times.

   .     ˚ ✭ * ✦ . . ✦ ˚      ˚ .˚ ✭ . .   ˚ . ✦. ✭ . .   ˚ .

🌨️₊˚.🎧 ˚.🩵*🎐✩。
As the battle against a villain they had never seen before drags out, Rex is wondering where the hell Invincible is. Or, where the hell the rest of the heroes are. It’s hard when it’s only Rex on the scene, trying to keep this villain from injuring more civilians. All he can do is throw small explosions to move the villain back while trying to use the big ones to at least stun him or injure him. It feels like hours before Atom Eve and Invincible show up and have a hand in safely capturing this new villain.
Invincible, Mark Grayson, turns to Rex with a sheepish smile and hovers down to land in front of Rex.
“Sorry about that, Eve and I-”
“Were what??” Rex snaps without even thinking about it.
Mark is taken aback before getting defensive himself, “Don’t tell me you’re jealous. You and Eve aren’t even dating anymore!”
Rex can’t let the real reason slip through, he can’t let Mark know that lately he catches himself staring at Mark a little too longer than usual. How he has been slacking as a hero, because he’s distracted thinking about Mark, and secretly hoping that Invincible will come while simultaneously giving him shit saying he had it- in a joking manner of course. He can’t let him know he doesn’t want Mark dating Eve because he wants Mark. He bites his tongue and walks away, muttering about how all of this is bullshit. Mark just sighs and rants to Eve about it, he thought him and Rex were cool but as the last two weeks have been going on- it appears differently.
Rex is helping check on the civilians among the one building that was destroyed. Good news is the building was small, and caused minimal damage- and it was a work building meaning no one lost a home. Someone immediately catches his attention. They appear sad, maybe they’re hurt or worried. Something, something he should definitely check on to make sure they’re okay.
“Hey, are you hurt? Do you need medical attention?” He asks politely, while scanning over their body for obvious injuries.
“Ah no, I’m fine.” Their voice is tranquil to listen to, calming but also in a state of grieving. He wants to ask more questions, but none are coming to mind as they lift their head ever so slightly so their eyes are available to look at.
🌨️₊˚.🎧 ˚.🩵*🎐✩。
That was when you met Rex. He was checking in on you every so often, to the point it would be considered weird. But he quickly clarifies that your demeanor seems blue, and he just wants to make sure you’re at least mentally okay. The thought warmed your heart and you were able to make small talk with him. You could tell that it was more than just your sorrowful yet tranquil demeanor that intrigued him however. You definitely knew when he slipped a piece of paper with several digits on it, along with his name. It was just confirmation.
🌨️₊˚.🎧 ˚.🩵*🎐✩。
It took you a few days before you texted him, because of several reasons. One, you were looking for a new job. Two, you were distracted and somewhat laying in bed all day. Three, he made you a little nervous. Perhaps it was a crush forming, or perhaps the man was just intimidating. However- you finally got the courage and sent the message.
You: Hi, it’s me from the other day.
Rex: Took you long enough
Rex: Jkjk
Rex: How are you doing?
After making small talk with him, he tries to call you. You jump at the notification flashing on your screen and you take several deep breaths before answering.
“Hello?”
“Hi, do you wanna go to dinner with me?”
🌨️₊˚.🎧 ˚.🩵*🎐✩。
At first, dinner with Rex was peaceful and good. He knew the perfect amount of talking to do, knew when you wanted to be quiet for a minute to enjoy the meal without someone talking with food in their mouth. He seemed like a genuine guy, so far- a second date was looking promising for the both of you.
That was, until halfway through the main course meal a man harshly sat down next to him. He crossed his arms like he was mad at Rex (and you couldn’t help but look at how his arms flexed in his short sleeved T-shirt.). Rex looks shocked for a moment before he grimaces.
(In Mark’s defense, he didn’t know this was a date he was crashing)
“Are you going to tell me what’s your problem? I thought we were going good but you got mad at me? Is it jealousy, Rex?” Mark says in a demanding but angered tone. Rex matches the energy, because ain’t no way Mark just crashed on his date talking about being jealous.
“This can wait-”
“No, because you’ve been ignoring my texts and calls. Why are you so mad? I’m not-”
“Mark, I’m in the middle of something.” He gestures to the table, food, and to you. You sit there awkwardly, and have a completely different impression of what is going on.
“Rex, are you in an open relationship or something? Is this your boyfriend?”
The two whip their heads around to you, stunned by the blunt question. They both talk over each other, trying to clear things up, trying to smooth things out, and trying to explain themselves. You have to calmly interrupt them, by holding up a hand.
“I don’t mind, but I would’ve preferred a heads up. Unless you were planning to tell me later during dinner, then I wouldn’t have minded.”
Rex cuts off that thought, “Mark isn’t my boyfriend.”
Mark is sitting there, connecting dots before he gasps, “Wait, were you jealous of Eve?? Do you like me?”
“WHAT”
🌨️₊˚.🎧 ˚.🩵*🎐✩。
This is when you enter the stage of trying to navigate Polyamory with them. It took a long talk about it, with you explaining the concept to them before they decided to try it. Mark is interested in you, but not in the same way Rex is. Rex sees you as someone who is a calming force in his life, someone who balances out everything and is very empathetic. Mark sees you as someone who can understand him a little better than most on an emotional level. Even if you don’t go through what he did, the way you take on his emotions makes him feel like you deeply understand. Who knew that you would be the bridge that helped Mark and Rex make up and see their feelings for each other- and for you?

"We need Tribal Combat!"
"There's no time for that! We need a leader now!"
"We need to follow the order of command!"
"What command? Roman is dead! There is no order anymore!"
"This is why he should have been dethroned a lot sooner! He left us no heir!"
"The child wouldn't be old enough to rule anyway!"
Aleki runs a hand over his haggard face. In a matter of weeks, he feels like he's aged another ten years.
He's getting too old to be dealing with this shit, and that's exactly what all of this is. A bunch of shit.
"Tribal Combat is the way our ancestors would handle a situation like this," he finally speaks. The situation being the fact that for the first time in his lifetime, the Bloodline is without a leader.
Roman is dead.
Solo is dead.
Roman left no heir, thus there is no clear path moving forward for what should occur. The past two weeks since the former Tribal Cheif's murder has been nothing but chaotic to say the least. Aleki is far too prideful to admit it, but a part of him blames himself. He should have known better than to trust Rikishi to get the job done. Should have known that just like he did years prior with Jey, he'd fall short.
Should have known his plan was not without holes. Holes that have left them in the mess they're in now. Allies demanding to know who is in charge, threatening to sever partnerships with a syndicate that boasts no formal, official leader.
A mess.
"And just how do we determine who is eligible for combat?"
Someone, another annoying voice, inserts their question among the mumbled conversations.
Another Elder handles the answer, offering, "it could be open to anyone."
Sione sighs, saying more to himself than anyone in particular. "Nakoa's bloodline has ruled for generations."
"And now his bloodline is all dead," Aleki counters. Cold. His voice and expression are as cold as the ice in his veins. "His son in his stubbornness has damned us to this mess." He gestures around the room, anger growing as he mulls over the situation. "We should have never allowed him to rule for so—"
His pending rant is cut short by the arrival of another attendee, which instantly has him scowling for two reasons.
One, all attendees who were allowed for this audience are present and accounted for.
Two, the identify of said attendee has him pissed.
"Dwayne." His voice is clipped. "This is a closed—"
"I don't give a fuck," comes the dismissive response of the man nearly insufferable as his late, younger cousin. Dwayne saunters over to an occupied seat, easily grabbing the seat by the back, yanking it out and knocking the person to the ground. A smug smirk sits on his face as he plops down and props his big ass feet on the table. Dwayne lifts the sunglasses from the bridge of his nose to the top of his bald head. "Oh, don't stop on my account."
"This doesn't concern you," Sione dismisses.
"Come on." The 'n' drags on as he props his hands behind his head. "I'm still Bloodline, aren't I?"
"You were apart of Roman's Bloodline, and he's dead now, so you have no place here anymore." Someone, an attendee whose name Aleki would never bother to know, counters with a huff. "Plus, where the hell have you been the past few weeks?"
Dwayne shrugs. "Around."
"Around." Someone else mocks. "Our empire in on the brink of collapse, and you've just been around."
"It's like candy ass small dick over here said." Dwayne gestures with his thumb. "I'm unemployed."
The insulted man slams his fist on the table, shooting up, "you smug son of—"
Dwayne quickly silences him by pulling out his Glock G-19 and shooting him directly in the temple, his lifeless body instantly dropping to the floor. Gasps sound around the table, Aleki angrily calling for security.
"You need to leave now!" He hisses. Aleki glances toward the door, wondering why the hell security didn't come barging in at the sound of a literal gunshot.
"See, I would, but I don't answer to you anymore." Dwayne replies in a significantly more serious voice. Gone is the nonchalant "devil may care" attitude. His big body shifts as he moves both elbows onto the table, gun still in hand. "I only answer to the Tribal Chief."
Aleki hisses. "Roman is dead. There is no Tribal Chief."
Dwayne's growing smile can only be described as sinister and predatory. Knowing. "You sure about that?"
Seconds later, not even a full minute, the sound of grunts and thuds from outside the conference room. The Elders and other attendees looking around in confusion.
Except for Dwayne.
He just keeps smiling.
And an almost thunderous sound is accompanied by two more unexpected arrivals. One significantly more unexpected than the other.
Jacob Fatu's unhinged, crazed look of insanity is accompanied by his big body throwing down two dead guards, their heads awkwardly and sickly hanging from their lifeless bodies. Snapped. Their necks have been snapped.
But, that grotesque sight is severely outmatched and borderline underwhelming compared to the inconceivable sight of a dead man walking.
Roman's hair is down and wild, his murderous gaze steady and focused forward. Brass knuckles attached to a chain are secured to his right fist. The table of men are suddenly in shambles, falling over and working to put as much distance between themselves and the man everyone has believed dead.
Again, everyone except Dwayne.
Aleki can barely compute what's happening before him. So much so that there's no time to react, no time to think, just a tremendous of pain that courses through his aged body. Because one minute, he's in his chair at the head of the table, and the next he's on the floor, an enraged Roman having slapped the heavy metal chain against his body.
The old man cries out in agony as the chain is whipped once more, cutting into his skin and laying heavy onto his already brittle bones.
"Please!" He begs, allotted a brief respite as Roman redirects his focus onto Sione and the other Elders, each being mercilessly whipped with the chains.
Punishment.
He's punishing them.
"You wanna take me out!" Roman's infuriated voice slams against the walls the same way he starts to slam his fists against the broken, bloodied men who sought to see him six feet under. "It ain't ever fucking happening!" Roman lands a bone breaking kick to the neck of one of the elders, killing him instantly. The next is killed not directly by Roman but by proxy, as he screams for Jacob.
Jacob, who grabs his gun and shoots out a window, marches over, snatching the man up, dragging him to the window and not wasting a second of a minute to toss him out of said window.
Onlookers watch in horror as one by one, Roman kills them all in various brutal ways. Suffocation. Slit throats. Snapped necks. A brutal beating with the brass knuckles. Various, violent methods and manners in which each meet an untimely, grisly demise. But, the best is saved for last. Aleki. A thorn in Roman's fucking side since he was a boy.
The older man is barely clinging onto life when Roman easily snatches that life away with each slap of the heavy chain, the brass knuckles slammed onto his face until it's disfigured beyond recognition. And finally, the severing of life is achieved via the slicing of the large hunting knife across his throat.
Heaving, splattered with blood, a slight sheen of sweat on his forehead, nothing but adrenaline and unbounded rage soar through Roman. His lethal gaze falls on the room of people who've been forced to watch the gory bloodbath.
The faintest hint of a smirk on his face.
Good.
Dwayne whistles. "Well, if it isn't obvious, he's not dead."
Roman shoots his older cousin a glare. Dwayne simply shrugs while Roman tips the chair back over, kicking Aleki's body to the side, rolling the chair and sitting down.
And silence. A piece of lint could fall off the wrinkled shirt of the man sitting a few seats down from Roman, and it could still be heard.
Fear.
Fear fills the room and dances off the walls, surrounds the men who just witnessed a bloodbath unlike any.
And then, finally, a brave—or stupid—soul decides to take a risk. Take a chance. "You're….you're alive."
Roman's gaze easily flickers to the man whose wide, horrified gaze is focused on him, trembling finger pointing in his direction. "We—we thought—"
One nod toward Jacob, and the man is barely able to stammer out an "I'm" before his head is violently forced to the side, the sound of his neck snapping followed up with the loud thud sound of it dropping onto the table.
The men around him back and cower away, eager and desperate to escape the death that's already claimed their pathetic lives.
"I was betrayed." Is the first thing to leave his mouth, the word 'betrayal' leaving a bitter, disgusting aftertaste that has him craving more blood. Craving vengeance. "They tried to overthrow me. Tried to kill me, and they should have." Roman stabs the large knife into the table, almost certain he heard someone whimper, as if about to cry. As if they were already crying. "They should have because they killed my wife, and now there's no fucking place on this earth anyone can hide or escape my rage." Saying it aloud is more difficult than Roman anticipated. Playing along with this storyline where Solana is no longer among the living. The discomfort is only quelled by the constant reminder that she is okay. That she's safe and simply waiting for him to return to her after handling business.
And, that's exactly what he's going to do.
Roman digs the knife deeper into the wood. "When I'm done with everyone involved in this shit, the only thing anyone will be able to see is red, and that's the fucking blood I'm going to paint this whole fucking town with." Sitting back in the chair, Roman leaves the knife protruding from the table. "But, until then, I need you all to send them a message."
Another foolish, ignorant, naive soul decides to ask what will be the final thing to leave his mouth before he leaves this room. "Wh—what m-m-message, s-s-sir?"
And for the first time since his entrance, Roman offers something other than a menacing glare. He smiles, but there's nothing humorous about it. If anything, it's predatory.
"That I'm coming."
Similar to the onslaught Roman bestowed upon the now deceased Elders, it's quick and violent. Jacob and Dwayne work almost simultaneously, not killing, but maiming the men. Severed, bloodied pieces cut from bodies. Fingers, noses, ears. Nothing fatal. Just warning enough.
And, it's only when each men has been left with a mark, a sign of Roman's pending revenge, they're ushered and forced out the room. Jacob landing a particularly painful looking blow into the back of the last disfigured, partially dismembered man.
Rolling his shoulders, Roman doesn't even need to instruct them on what to do next. Dwayne is reaching for the laptop, ripping a shirt off one of the dead elders to use it to clean it of the blood. "Fucking disgusting," he hisses, throwing it down once its completed the job.
Roman's eyes cut to the clock on the wall. Right on time.
He's uncaring of his appearance, focused on one thing and only.
Blood.
Roman is out for blood.
As Dwayne works to get everything set up and synced to the large TV screen anchored onto the wall, Jacob stands off to the side, waiting, observing, protecting almost.
Roman would be lying if he said he wasn't skeptical when Solana first told him about Jacob.
Told him how he allegedly protected her and vowed his loyalty to Roman and Roman only, as he recognized Roman as the Tribal Chief.
The only Tribal Chief.
Told her how not everyone in the Bloodline was involved in the coup, and many were waiting for Roman to show up.
Truth be told, Roman is still trying to test that. Test Jacob. So far, he's proven useful, offering Dwayne and Matteo intel and information on those allegedly involved and those not involved.
He's a a hell of a body to have around, capable of the most violent desecration of people. Useful. He's useful, but only time will tell to what extent Roman can trust him.
Can trust anyone, really.
"It's ready," Dwayne announces. Roman breaks from his thoughts, rolling his shoulders once more, ignoring the throb. Solana would have his ass for all the physical exertion. But, it needs to be done.
The sooner Roman handles this, the sooner he can have her back home with him.
Right where she belongs.
Dwayne and Jacob move to take seats, both on opposite sides of the table but in view of the TV that also serves as a casting source. The television screen is then filled with the exact person Roman wants to see next.
"This is a fucking waste of time." Luca's irritated voice is heard, his irksome ass face focused on something beside him. It looks like he's signing something. "Without someone of Italian blood at the head of your table, we have no alli—"
He stops, finally turning to look at the screen, and if there was ever someone to be as pale as Casper the fucking ghost, it's Luca.
"Roman." He all but whispers.
The Tribal Chief remains stone face. "Luca." He tilts his head. "You look surprised."
The younger man stammers, eyes darting around, hardening slightly when he lands on Dwayne who offers a small, mocking wave.
He then narrows his focus back on Roman. Clearing his throat, trying to play off indifference, he straightens his tie. "We were told you were dead."
"Were you?" Luca makes a sound. "I suppose that would have made things a lot more easier for you, now wouldn't it?"
Luca glares. "Just what—"
"Don't fucking play with me," Roman growls. "Do you think I'm stupid? I know you've been trying usurp me. That you were behind that missing shipment. The hit that killed our men. That you sent my brother to spy on me. That you were working with them to kill me."
Roman refuses to name them. Refuses to have their names on his lips. They're not fucking worth it.
Luca, to the best of his limited abilities, tries to remain unbothered. "I don't know what you're talking about."
At that, Roman chuckles, smiling, looking down and nodding. "That's….that's good." Roman can give credit where it's due. Albeit a paltry amount. But, just as quickly as he was smiling, he's glaring. "But, here's the fucking problem, I'm better. I'm better than you. Better than anyone else in this fucking family. I've always been better, and I always will be better." Always. "And you know what else?" A beat. "I'm always three steps ahead."
Luca opens his mouth to respond, fire and fury dancing in his irises when commotion can be heard through the TV.
Roman smirks.
Luca looks to the side, once angered, now confused, and then disturbed.
Gunshots. It's the sound of gunshots.
He curses in Italian, barking orders at what's probably security.
Roman says nothing.
It makes no difference.
None whatsoever.
He just sits back in his chair, enjoying the sound of men crying out in pain, bodies dropping, bullets being emptied into now lifeless corpses.
Luca's clearly shitting bricks, perspiring, gun in his shaky hand. He calls out another order that's cut short by what sounds like the door being kicked open.
Gunshots ring once more, back to back, strategic and aimed.
Luca curses loudly, holding onto his shoulder where he's been shot.
And seconds later, the base of his neck is exposed as another figure stands behind him, forcing his head back, gun pressed to his temple.
Matteo
True to his character, Luca uses his dying words to curse at not only Roman but Matteo who stands with a smug expression, giving Roman only a simple nod of acknowledgment.
Roman smirks.
He sits back in his chair, voice calm and collected. A contrast to the mayhem just unleashed. "Luca." The man in question struggles and works to move out of Matteo's unrelenting grasp. "Take this free advice. If you're gonna go for the devil, you should go always go for the head, because if you miss." A quiet chuckle. "He sure won't."
A loud bang followed by blood and brain matter splattering the screen, partially obscuring the view of Luca's lifeless body slumped over.
Like a bug, Matteo shoves him away, taking the seat, seemingly unbothered by the blood that stains his clothes, hair, and skin.
"It's done."
"Good." Sitting forward, Roman's mind travels to the mental list curated. "Get on the first flight back here."
Matteo nods. "Will do." The connection ends, and Roman closes the laptop.
Looking around the room, he readies to order Dwayne to start seeing about replacements for the Elders council but ultimately decides against it.
It can wait.
He has bigger, important things to worry and focus on, like making his way down his infinite kill list.
The OTC is coming.
---------
There are many, many things on Roman's to-do list once he arrives back home. Many bloody, violent things. Lives to take, primarily.
But, while that remains near the top, there are other things that also require his attention. Things he'd moderately prefer to not have to do but things he needs to do.
It's what leads him a few days later standing outside of Jimmy and Naomi's house. One of his first of many stops during his "revival" tour of sorts.
But, the minute the door is ripped open, and Roman is standing face to face, directly across from Jimmy, a new influx of confusing emotions fill him. The same way they paint the face of his wide eyed cousin.
Roman can see the way Jimmy continues to grip the door so tightly that his knuckles whiten. "It's….it's true." Roman's jaw twitches as he briefly looks away. "You're…you're alive?"
"We need to talk," is Roman's response. He looks at Jimmy. "Can I come in?"
A delayed response is followed up with an almost distracted head nod as Roman makes his way inside of his cousin's home, a place he's been in countless times over his almost 40 years on this earth. But, this…..this has to be the first time where it's felt different. Felt off. Felt wrong.
"Where the hell have you been?" Jimmy breathes. Roman turns around to face him, seeing the shock and confusion melt away into a bowl of anger. "We thought you were dead, Roman. Almost everyone thinks you and Solana—" He stops himself, pausing, eyes widening slightly. "Wait, is she—"
A pause. Hesitation. The moment Roman wrecked his brain over and over again trying to navigate the best way to handle such a tricky, complicated, complex situation. Ultimately, Solana's words and recommended or requested approach taking front seat. "She's safe."
Once the words leave his mouth, there's a semblance of regret. Like, he wishes he had gone a different route. Almost like he wishes he'd continued to maintain the story being spread about the fate of his pregnant wife.
Jimmy places both hands behind his head, walking away just enough to blow out a big breath. "What the fuck, Roman?" He growls, walking back over and pointing upstairs. "You got any fucking idea how gutted Naomi and I been?" He scowls, the anger and relief clearly at odds. "Thinking you and Sol were—"
"I know what you thought," he interrupts, hating his own emotions being at war. "You thought what we needed everyone to think."
Jimmy swallows. "Even me?" Silence. He once again motions upstairs. "Even Naomi?"
Silence
He runs a hand over his face, and in that moment, Roman can see for the first time the toll all of this has taken on him. He looks drained. "Roman….I know….I know what happened was fucked up. I'm not denying that. But, to treat Naomi and I like this when we ain't even do nothing?" He shakes his head. "When I'm already having to mourn my brother and father—"
"The same people who tried to kill me?" Roman interrupts, his voice sharp and even. "The people who kidnapped and were going to kill my wife?"
"I know that, Uce—"
"Do you?" A pointed question, as anger starts to overpower everything else. "Cause you're acting like I did something fucking wrong—"
"You did!" Jimmy snaps. "You kept us in the fucking dark when we deserved to know the truth!"
"The same way you kept me in the dark?" Is Roman's almost quiet response. He sees the way Jimmy's anger twitches, how it's briefly interrupted by what Roman considers to be a valid point. "For years, your father was trying to get ya'll to challenge me, trying to turn you against me, and you never said anything. Never told me shit!"
"I told you, I didn't realize—"
"I don't give a fuck what you did or didn't realize. I had a right to know!" He needed to know. Roman needed to know that the same people he considered family, the closest thing he had left to a father figure, even with them never necessarily being super close, was plotting against him the entire time. "If you had just told me—"
"Then what? It would have changed something?" Jimmy shouts, also unwilling to back down like the man across from him. "Would have stopped all this from happening? Would change what happened—"
"I don't know!" A forced, short, angry response as the Tribal Chief turns away, running his hand over his face. This conversation is equally heavy as it is challenging. He wasn't stupid enough to expect anything about it to be easy, but Roman can't deny a small part of him hoped it would go….different. In what way, he's not entirely sure. Just something….not this.
"Uce, we can figure this out—"
Roman briefly turns to him. "Can we?"
And, when Jimmy doesn't respond immediately, doesn't respond at all, Roman realizes in one area of all of this shit, they're on the same page. They're both confused as to how to untangle this massive mess of betrayal, lies, and hurt. Because for Roman, it's not even the coup organized by the people he once considered family, it's the fact that he also has to come to grips with that same "family" was a part of the plan that cost Roman his entire immediate family.
Left him essentially alone.
In many ways, that's what hurts the most.
But, it's also something Roman has opted to not tell Jimmy. As much hatred the Tribal Chief holds toward Solo and Rikishi, he can still acknowledge that was Jimmy's brother and father. He won't complicate his cousin's grief.
Because Roman doesn't hate him.
Doesn't hate him at all.
He just can't trust him anymore, and he's not sure if and when that will change.
Which is why he settled on the decision he did. The decision he's ready to finally share.
"When Solana comes home, and she will come home, I don't want to see you."
Gaze focused on the wall art in Jimmy's living room, Roman doesn't need to be looking at his cousin to know he's floored. "W-what?"
He swallows, recalling the specific wording he decided on. "You're out of my inner circle. I'll have Dwayne find a position for you in the Bloodline when things settle—"
"Roman—"
"Solana can decide for herself what she wants her relationship with Naomi to be, but I don't want either of you at my house."
"You can't—"
"I can do whatever the fuck I want." Even if he's not entirely sure it's exactly what he wants. It's the best Roman can do under these circumstances.
All he can do.
That doesn't mean there's not the reappearance of that damn weight that's been on his chest ever since he had to leave Solana. Even before that, if he's being completely honest with himself.
"My decision is final, Jimmy." Because maybe sticking to the facts, or rather the stipulations Roman has decided to put in place until he can navigate a better solution might be helpful. Emotions are getting in the way of business.
Jimmy just looks at him, stares at him, unwilling or maybe even uncaring of how visible his many emotions are. "So, that's it?" Roman's jaw clenches. "After everything we been through, the good, the bad, the everything in between. Almost 40 years of friendship, of being family….." He swallows, emotion and vulnerability on full display. "You're like my brother, Roman—"
"But not a brother, right?" Silence. "That's why you didn't say anything."
It's a deeply rooted point of insecurity. One that Roman hasn't really allowed himself to think too much about since he was a kid. That feeling of being "not like them." Of feeling like he didn't necessarily "belong."
An outsider among his own blood.
"This isn't fair, and you know it," Jimmy finally responds. "You're punishing me, punishing Naomi, for something that we didn't even do."
Perhaps. The Tribal Chief won't entirely deny that. He knows he can be vindictive, and maybe some part of him does want to punish them in a way he can't the deceased. But, the vast majority of him only seeks to have a temporary solution in place to relieve him of all the other very many tasks on his plate.
And, the deep fucking truth of the matter is also something he won't allow himself to admit aloud but feels fully.
He needs Solana.
Roman needs his wife to help him sort through all of this. He needs her support. Her safety. Her sage wisdom and soft way of helping him navigate these things. So, until that can happen, this is what needs to happen.
Roman takes a deep breath. For as nice and big a home Jimmy and Naomi have, it's suddenly feels a lot more stuffy than he recalls. A lot less welcoming. His presence more…intruding than anything.
"I have to go." Both a truth and a lie. The day is practically just getting started, but time waits for the Tribal Chief. He could stay longer, could maybe talk things through with his cousin.
Problem is he doesn't want to.
Not right now.
Not for a while, most likely.
Roman is a bit unsure why he's some level of bothered by Jimmy not protesting his leave. It's what's best….
Right?
"You're going to do it, aren't you?" Roman's hand is halfway to touching the doorknob when he's hit with the question. The one he knew was coming but hoping wouldn't. The one that makes sense. "You're going to kill him."
His eyes shut.
Debated. Roman debated the hell out of and with himself to try to figure out how he would tackle that one. Of course, Jimmy would want to know that. Would want to know if another person will be added to the list of lost loved ones. Especially his brother.
Jey.
Roman also considered how to respond to this, how much he wanted to share, if he wanted to grant Jimmy some sense of peace with knowing the answer or grief with also knowing the answer.
Roman swallows once more.
And, he walks out the door.
-----------
The only way for Roman to decompress from his heavy conversation with Jimmy and all that will come from the decisions that have been made is to cope the best way he knows how.
Murder.
Roman needs to cross off another name from his hit list.
Two, precisely.
"Where the fuck are they?" Dwayne complains and swats away a pesky fly that seems to prefer to fly around and in his personal bubble. "Fucking hate the outdoors."
Matteo snickers. "So, you wouldn't accompany Afia, the kids and I on a camping trip?"
Dwayne just stares at him. "Do I look poor to you?"
Roman manages a chuckle and a thought of something else. About the sacrifice Matteo is also making by being here with him. Standing with him. He's also separated from his wife. From his children. Agreeing to no contact to help keep Solana being alive a secret.
Roman swallows.
He didn't really realize until just now how massive an ask that was.
And how Matteo never once hesitated to agree to join him.
The sound of a truck engine revving is a welcomed distraction and something that allows Roman to reorient his focus to the task at hand. Jaw clenched, he watches the ambulance come to an abrupt stop followed by the drivers door being flung open.
Jacob's large body drops down, his boots leaving imprints in the slightly muddy ground as he stomps to the back of the truck and snatches the door open.
Hate fills the Tribal Chief as he watches Jacob angrily and almost erratically yank the two hospital beds out the back, both participants crying out in pain as they tumble onto the ground.
But, the cries of pain from one ease into a sick, twisted, laugh.
Roman's stomp onto his neck effectively silences that laugh. Seth's brown eyes peer up into him, that deranged smile on his face causing Roman to lift his foot and stomp once more. Seth almost instantly coughs up blood.
However, it's wheezing from the rotund man on the ground a few feet away from the lunatic under him that snatches Roman's focus.
Carefully, slowly, he walks over, anger accompanying each step until he kicks Paul over, a loud howl leaving his former advisor's mouth.
Tears stream down his face that has a large bandage on the right cheek and other unhealed cuts around various areas. "Pl—please."
Roman growls. That damn word has easily become one of his least favorites.
Similar to Seth, Roman lands his boot down on the top of Paul's fat neck. As the man screams out in pain, Dwayne chuckles.
"I know that hurt."
It all must hurt, Roman realizes. Hurt tremendously. Good.
For the first time, he takes in the sight and state of the two men before him still in hospital gowns. Their legs and arms covered with bandages, peaks of red, burned skin peaking out, the lesser of their injuries minimal compared to the latter end of severe.
Severe…
Nothing will ever be severe enough for them.
Roman barks for a knife, and the minute he's handed one, he crouches down and begins cutting. Not just the bandage. The fresh, still healing skin graft underneath the bandages as well. The screams of pain are ear piercing and music to Roman's fucking ears.
Methodically, like a butcher mastering his craft, he cuts away, ignoring the blood and body matter that splatters and splashes his clothes, tossing the mangled, ruined patches of fleshto the side like trash to the can.
Around him, no one interferes, no one stops him, and no one damn sure responds to Paul's blubbering as he transitions between screaming, apologizing, and eventually begging for Roman to just kill him.
That last is definitely on the agenda. Just not yet.
Because, one he's done butchering victim one, he transitions to victim two. Seth. Seth's torture is the eerily the same, the maniacal laughing eventually melting into sobs of agony. But, he doesn't beg for death, doesn't beseech the Tribal Chief for mercy.
No, that doesn't come until Roman is handed the electric chainsaw.
It comes then. Screams and shouts of unimaginable pain as Roman saws off arms and legs, one by one, blood shooting and spurting out. Again, the man intent on making their last minutes on earth nothing but horrific, forever uncaring. It's satisfying in a demented sort of way, but Roman doesn't care.
They're getting exactly what they deserve.
Heaving and sweating from the exertion expended through the torture, Roman only stops when all that remains is exposed bone from where he cut off their arms below the elbows and their knees slightly above the knees.
He would have continued too, if not for the fact both men are starting to lose consciousness, and that won't do.
He wants them awake for as long as humanly fucking possible.
Especially for the grand finale.
Roman snaps, speaking to Jacob. "Douse em'."
An order that doesn't need to be repeated. As Roman lifts off his shirt that's caked in blood, pieces of bone, and human flesh, tossing it to the ground, Dwayne hands him a towel to dry off and remove some of the other unmentionables.
Jacob moves quickly and efficiently, pouring the gasoline all over what remains of Paul and Seth's carved up bodies. Drenches them.
And with a wicked smirk on his face, Matteo tops it off, tops them off with the cherry on top.
An accelerant.
He forces their mouths open, the sound of them gurgling and choking sounded out with a kick to the side of the head. It's effective, allowing him to empty the bottle that he tosses to the side.
"Done," he says, voice ice cold as he goes to stand beside Dwayne and Jacob. None of them showing even the slightest hint of disturbance. If anything, there's more of a pleased, satisfied aura.
Recognizing they've reached the end of the road, that the men are mere minutes away from unconsciousness—and death—Roman stalks over to them. Slowly. A predator enjoying the final moments of his prey's existence. Moments that must consist of pain beyond human comprehension.
He looks down, the sight grotesque and enough to evoke vomiting from anyone without a seasoned stomach, but Roman is anything but. The sight makes him smile. The putrid smell of exposed bone, organs, and extensive blood pleasing to him in every sense of the word.
A dark, quiet chuckle leaves his mouth. "So much for that spoiler."
Stepping back, his eyes dart between the both of them, studying and committing the grisly image to memory.
Gratifying, indeed.
And without much thought, he pulls out the matchbox, lighting two matches, each thrown onto the men.
Turning on his heel, Roman walks away, tuning out their screams of misery and suffering.
"Let's go." It's spoken to the three men with him as they head out of the forest and to their SUV's. Extracting his revenge on the two men grants Roman with a sense of relief. He's relieved to know those two fuckers no longer breathe, or will breathe, the same air as him.
But, as gory and sadistically satisfying as Paul and Seth's deaths are, it still doesn't dull or ease the mixed emotions that fill the Tribal Chief at the thought of his next task.
Arguably, one of the hardest he has to complete.
----------
There's one reason and one reason alone why Roman asks Matteo and Dwayne to be present for this.
One very valid, important reason that can't be ignored or pushed aside. It's not his preference though.
Not really.
This is so personal that it feels almost wrong to have other parties present, but Roman also knows himself. Knows that when he fully succumbs to that uncontrollable rage that dwells within him, he can't see or think beyond it. It totally and wholly consumes him. Controls him.
Thus….his need for a contingency plan.
Roman has his back toward the door that's flung open, the intensity causing nearby photos on the wall to shake. Roman sighs. As effective as Jacob can be, he's…..a lot.
The Tribal Chief turns around just in time to see one cousin throw down the man Roman also once considered cousin.
Considered family.
Considered to be a brother.
As prideful as he can be, Roman would never deny the fact that he could have done a better job with being less hard on the twins. Less…..him. But, the truth of the matter is that despite the frosty disposition and irritation that marred a lot of their interactions, no one but the three of them know what they've been through. The countless times they've had each other's back out in the field. Protecting and looking out for each other.
The times Roman looked out for Jey.
All those moments that have boiled down to and left them right where they are now.
Jey, on the floor before him, hands on the ground, his fiery gaze on the man he also once considered family.
And seeing it, seeing Jey be upset with him?
It pisses Roman the fuck off.
He walks toward his table and grabs the brass knuckles. Both pair.
"Get out." A command directed only toward Jacob who offers no protest, walking out the same way he came in, standing watch outside the door.
"Roman…"
Roman has completely tuned out the voice of either Dwayne or Matteo. He doesn't know nor does he care.
Roman lifts his foot, kicking Jey right in the face with so much force that his body jerks back violently.
"You son of a bitch," he growls, not wasting a second to pounce on top of him, aiming for his ribs first. Jey's' howl of pain drives his determination—and fury—and distracts the Capo from his own lingering pain. The injuries that have not yet fully healed, marginally due to the fact that Roman has done nothing but exert himself from the moment he landed back home.
He'd kept his promise and continued rehab, continued to follow the doctor's orders, but that was all in between carrying out violent, bloody, brutal punishments for every fucker who turned on him.
Including the one underneath him.
And thinking of Solana, thinking of how she's not here, not with him, it only deepens the color of red he sees.
It's all he sees.
The sound of Jey's ribs cracking and his fruitless efforts to push the enraged man off him only drive Roman to lift the man up and slam him against the nearest wall. Another brutal kick to his ribs. Roman doesn't care if every single one is broken.
He grabs Jey by the chin, squeezing, enjoying the way his face remains scrunched up in pain. "You broke up my Bloodline." Not the massive crime syndicate that Roman has spent the better half of his life improving and making it into the billion dollar empire that it is now. He's referring to the family component, the familial bond and connection they shared.
That Bloodline.
"My wife isn't here because of you, Jey. You understand?" Roman continues. A part of him wonders if anything, especially that, means anything to Jey. He's unsure if Jey knows that Solana is actually alive or if he even cares, because his wife is most certainly not.
And, it's that, Roman is sure, that fuels Jey's hatred. Has him, despite the brutal beating he's receiving, refusing to cower, to show any sign of fear. Just impenetrable defiance.
"I looked out for you, I spared your fucking life, saved your ass time and time again, and what do you do?" Another fresh wave of rage, as Roman slams Jey's head back against the wall, shouting, "you break up my fucking family!"
Again, double, maybe even multiple meanings, all with one heartbreaking conclusion.
It creates a brief fracture in Roman's anger, paves the way for a small glimpse of what lies underneath all of that fury that courses through his big body. "I would have never done this shit to you, Jey."
Because, he wouldn't. Because for all the bad things Roman is, how awful he could be, he would have never stooped so low. Would have never allowed whatever prideful feelings he was struggling with to lead him down a path that could only end in heartbreak. But, Jey did. His insecurities got the best of him, and it's cost him.
It's cost him dearly.
Because as far as Roman is concerned, Nicki's death is on him.
"So just…." Jey coughs up blood as Roman realizes at some point in his inner dialogue, he'd moved back to pounding Jey into the floor. "Just…do it." Roman stops and stares at him, his own chest heaving. "You wanna kill me…..fucking do it then, Uce. It's…it's what you want, ain't it?"
Bullshit.
Roman can see right through it, right through the paltry front he's trying to put up in the face of a true life or death situation. Stubborn as all outdoors, very much like himself, Roman knows that Jey loves his kids more than anything. He would never want to "leave" them.
Especially after what's happened.
He's calling Roman's bluff, and that pisses him to fuck off.
For more reasons than the man under him and the two before him can realize.
Roman closes his eyes.
"Please." It's the pleading nature of her voice as well as the borderline desperation in her eyes that has Roman struggling. Struggling with it all. "I know….I know what he did was wrong."
"It wasn't just wrong, Solana," he calmly counters. Roman is working hard to be mindful of his tone with her. The anger that dances and burning within is 100% not aimed or geared towards her. Whatsoever. "It was unforgivable."
She swallows. "I know." He shuts his eyes once more as she continues to gently massage his scalp with one hand, the other tracing his inked arm, carefully maneuvering the ridges of disfigured skin from his burn scars. "But, I'm not….I'm not asking you to forgive him, Ro."
"No," he murmurs, jaw flexing. "But, what you're asking is a lot fucking harder."
Solana moves closer, her hand traveling to his face. "Roman….his kids lost their mother." She licks her lips and shakes her head. "We both grew up without our mothers, and I know that your relationship with yours was…..complicated, but….mine wasn't and not having her…." Her eyes watering is something he can't avoid. Can't ignore. "No child deserves that, Roman, and you know it." His silence is all that she needs to continue. "Baby, I know I'm asking a lot from you, but….please don't kill him."
He's always said and "joked" about never being able to say no to her. But, this….this might be a first. "Solana…."
"Please, Roman." Her voice cracks as she leans up, her forehead against his, breathing. "For me."
Roman is returned to the scene before him, to the decision he'd made just this morning. A decision he's not sure how he'll handle moving forward, but it's one he's accepted as his final answer.
"I'm not going to kill you," he announces. Jey can't hide his surprise, and Roman would bet his cousin and brother mimic similar expressions.
He hadn't shared his decision with anyone until this very moment.
"And, the only fucking reason I'm not is because of the woman you almost got killed," he hisses. Jey continues to look dumbfounded. "But, you are fucking dead to me in every other sense of the word. You've got a fucking week for you and your kids out of the city. Your security access is revoked, your position with the Bloodline done. You are done."
Jey continues to look around, obviously struggling to process what's being said. Like, he hadn't expected Roman to actually kill him and yet still expected Roman to kill him.
"I never want to fucking hear or speak to you ever again, you understand me?" It's a watered down warning. It's all watered down, truly. Even the fact that Jey lays before him, potentially half dead, in need of medical assistance. It's not enough. Nothing will ever be enough, even if he took his cousin's life with his bare hands. And, Roman knows this.
Still, this has to be one of the hardest decisions he's ever made.
"But, if you ever fucking step foot in this town again, I don't care what Solana says, I'll fucking kill you. I swear it on Fetu's grave." A vow to carry out the act of vengeance, love, in all the irony, prevents him from completing.
It's solely Roman's love for Solana that stops him from killing Jey.
Nothing else.
Literally nothing else.
Roman's final declaration is accompanied by another stomp, this time to Jey's face, effectively knocking him out cold. Standing up and rolling his neck, Roman grimaces and grabs at his shoulder.
Way too much exertion. Not that it makes a difference.
Jey is just one of many he plans to visit today.
He looks over his shoulder, uncaring and unwilling to discuss what transpired. What's done is done.
Roman so casually, and coldly, walks over Jey's slumped, unconscious body and snatches his jacket off the hook behind the door. "Let's go."
Footsteps of the other two men follow him swinging the door open, Jacob standing at attention.
"Make sure he's gone by the time I'm back," Roman commands. What's done has been done, and while there's a tremendous amount of unspoken, unresolved issues between himself and the man he's just effectively banished indefinitely, it's not a task he's up for.
Not now.
Not ever.
Roman meant what he said.
Should Jey ever try to return to the city, Roman will absolutely kill him.
But, until then, he might as well already be dead.
Because he is to Roman.
---------
Following Roman's dramatic, bloody return from his supposed demise, he places the city on lock down.
No one enters, and no one leaves.
Armed guards, a mixture of verified Bloodline loyalists as well as soldiers from the Legado Del Fantasma, remain stationed at every entrance into the city, whether it be by land or harbor, to ensure that this order remains non-violated.
Roman intends for not a single fucker to escape his bloody vengeance.
And bloody, it most certainly is.
Nothing but unbridled rage courses through Roman's body as he spends the weeks making his way down his list eliminating target after target. Traitor after traitor. Life after life, taken.
Doors are kicked down, pieces of shit dragged out. Some granted quick death. Simple head shots that leave blood and brain matter splattered in the nearest vicinity. Some are tossed off of buildings, leaving their splattered remains for all to see. Some are used as examples. Their tortured, mangled remains tied up on display in the middle of the streets as both a reminder and a warning. A reminder of what happens to all who dare to cross Roman fucking Reigns, and a message to those who played in any role in the coup that he's coming, and he's coming for blood.
Roman has the city in a state of terror and fear. Families keeping their children in the house. Picking them up and dropping them off to school to avoid being caught in the cross hairs. A bit unnecessary, as despite Roman slipping back into that dark space that consumed him before Solana, his few morals remain the same. Women and children are off limits.
Neither of those groups are included in his hit list.
Everyone else though…..tough.
But, while the adrenaline that races through him fuels his revenge tour, that fuel of sorts easily melts away when he arrives home later in the evening. Arrives to an empty home. No sweet, delicious aroma of Solana's cooking to greet him. Or the pitter-patter of Dulce's feet as she races to the front door, eager to jump at and try to lick him but mostly just wanting to be petted and to have her belly rubbed. Being able to come up behind his wife, holding her, kissing her temple, taking in the feel of her body up against his.
Things he'd gotten used to.
Things he misses.
He misses a lot.
He misses her.
He thinks about her, about what she could be doing, about whatever pregnancy symptoms she could be experiencing, as he follows along via the app she'd installed on his phone. He checks daily, each time wondering about the swell of her stomach, imagining the excitement she must feel. Or, the sadness.
Because there is something undeniably sad about them not being able to experience this together. Something that was so important to her.
Important to him.
Being there with her to support her as she carries his children, their children, is important to him.
But….but, her safety comes first.
Their safety comes first.
Her absence is with him every fucking second of the day, though on the back-burner when the sun sits comfortably in the sky, and he has the distraction of his murderous rampage. But, when the sun is replaced with the moon, and he lays in that same bed where they've made love countless times, where she's laid on his chest, talking about her day. Where he's held and slept with her, rubbing her belly, allowing himself to feel genuinely happy for a long fucking time.
All of that is soured and dampened by the cruel reality. Solana is not there. Dulce is not there.
She's not with him. They're not with him, because of them.
And then the rages builds up all over again.
It's a vicious, cruel cycle. One that he can't escape. One that leads him to the place he wasn't expecting or planning to visit anytime soon.
Too difficult.
But, necessary.
"Not gonna lie…." Lita trails off, shifting in her seat. It's one of the few times he's noticed she's not almost casually lounged, legs tucked under her. She's sitting with both feet planted on the ground, a small frown on her face. "Believing you to be dead only for you to show up with quite the return….and now having you in front of me, I'm not quite sure where to start except to tell you that I'm so sorry about Solan—"
"She's not dead."
Silence.
Lita, for all her expertise and experience, can't hide her shocked expression. "What?"
Roman looks away. Just as he battled with whether or not to tell Jimmy the truth about Solana, he experienced the same battle regarding just how honest he wanted to be with Lita.
That's not to say he doesn't have a host of other issues he could probably, definitely, benefit from talking and working through with her.
Like the two panic attacks he's had since returning home.
Or, the several nightmares that have awoken him from the little sleep he has received. The nightmares that started when he was in the hospital in Mexico. The reason Solana refused to go home and leave him alone, staying and sleeping with him. Comforting him.
She's his comfort, and not having her has him six different shades of fucked up. On top of the pre-existing level of fucked up-ness he is on any given day.
If there was any doubt in his mind before just how codependent Roman is with his wife, this whole experience has successfully zapped it all away.
Still, that doesn't take away from the fact that Solana isn't here, and he's not okay, so he needs to find a way to get his shit together.
And, the woman before him is his best bet.
It didn't take much research and digging to realize Lita had no connection or involvement with the coup, thus eliminating her from the hit list. But, there's still this overwhelming importance of only keeping Solana's true status a secret from anyone who doesn't need to know.
And, while Roman wouldn't consider Lita someone who needs to know the truth, it would help him a hell of a lot considering the whole reason he's sitting before her.
Plus….while Roman isn't sure just what trust means to him anymore, he trusts that if she didn't know before, the bodies dumped in the streets, should be all the reminder of what happens to anyone who crosses Roman fucking Reigns.
"She's….she's in hiding. Safe." He clarifies, not willing to offer much more than that. "I'm not bringing her back home until I'm sure it's safe to do so."
"I see…." Lita trails off once more, slipping into her usual sitting position, legs tucked under her. For some reason, it makes Roman feel slightly more relaxed. "It all makes sense, then."
He eyes her. Skeptical. Cautious. "What do you mean?"
She takes a deep breath. "Roman, I don't….I don't fully understand how all the crime shit works, but I know and have heard enough to know that you were betrayed, Solana was kidnapped, and my guess would be that they tried to kill you both." He says and offers neither agreement or disagreement. "I can understand why you're so angry and why you've been on a murder spree, making the town look like something out of a horror movie, but it's….it's deeper than that." She tilts her head, assessing in a low voice. "It's even more personal, because she's not here….you don't have her with you, and that's….difficult, I'd gather."
He looks away once more, fist forming at his side. Roman's voice is also low and quiet, as he admits aloud for the first time, "I'm not….I'm not used to it." He swallows, pushing back the pride, knowing he needs to talk about this. To unload at least one thing on his plate. "I'm not used to….to being without her."
He doesn't really know how to function properly and normally without her. Just knows how to channel all of that frustration in his killing and torturing.
"I'm sure," Lita murmurs.
"I—" He struggles, the word a tremendous weight that weighs him down to the point of needing release. "I miss her."
Lita presses her lips together, voice sympathetic. "Are you….are you able to spe—"
"No," he interrupts, voice gruff. "We're no contact to ensure her location can't be tracked."
"I see." She's quiet for a few minutes, eventually and gingerly approaching all of the other shit Roman now has added to his collection of baggage. "I've also heard that….that you were betrayed from the inside. That it was….some of your family members."
"They were never my fucking family," he growls. Roman has shifted from that place of vulnerability to that stainless steel wall of defense. "And don't fucking call them that."
"My apologies." She nods, recognizing that the extent of his regression might be more than she realized. Understandable though. Completely understandable. "Can I ask you something?"
His hesitation is noticeable. "What?"
"With Solana gone for the time being, who do you have?"
It's a delayed response. The question requires contemplation.
"My cousins, Dwayne and Ava," he finally answers, and for the first time, in a long time, Roman allows himself to be honest about the very thing he's avoided for years. Tried to pretend wasn't a thing. But, it is. And, it's been more than proven in the past few weeks. "And Matteo….my brother."
This time, Lita expertly shields her surprise at yet another shocking confession. "Your brother?" He says nothing. Expected. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had a sibling still living."
Tense and partially uncomfortable, Roman nods. "It's….complicated."
"I bet," she murmurs. "Do you…do you want to talk about it?"
No. He doesn't want to talk about anything. What Roman wants to do is be with his pregnant wife. He wants to not have to deal with any of this shit. Wishes it never fucking happened in the first place, but it did, and now he's here trying to use a dollar store mop for a rainfall of issues.
But….
But, in this midst of this storm of epic proportions, there have been some glimpses of….something.
Like the fact that Roman can't and won't continue to deny something he's spent his whole life avoiding. Trying to avoid.
That he has a brother.
That despite all off the bitter feelings of resentment and jealousy toward the man that got the same short end of the stick that he did, Matteo has more than proven himself to be someone Roman can….can trust.
Such a difficult, virtually impossible thing considering what happened, the depth of the betrayal, but the truth of the matter is that Matteo and so many others showed up when Roman needed help the most.
Needed his brother.
It's why he's decided to stop denying the truth and maybe, just maybe, himself.
Roman shifts in his seat. "I've…I've realized that….I should…probably try to form some kind of relationship with him." Because, it's time. "It's what Solana thinks I should do, and….one of my aunt's dying wish that I….make things right with him."
"Sure." A pause. "But, what about you, Roman? What do you want?"
A lot of things. The biggest thing? His wife back home with him, so he could have her by his side as he works through all this shit. But, that's not an option. It's not an option, and he has to learn how to be without her for the time being.
Has to learn how to navigate the waters closest to him.
No matter how much he hates it.
"I—I—" He also hates this fucking stuttering and stammering. It's so unlike him. "I don't know how….how to go about that."
An almost embarrassing admission but a truth, nonetheless. Solana is good with these sorts of things. Not him.
Lita keeps a contained smile. Regression has certainly occurred but not, perhaps, as much as she initially believed. There's something there she intends to grab and hone in on as much as she can while still acknowledging his already complex treatment plan just got significantly more complicated.
"Well….." She starts, standing up and walking over to grab the infamous box of Giant Uno off her bookshelf. "Murder and mayhem, I don't know, but that…." Trailing off, she takes a seat, offering another small, patient smile. One step at a time. "—That I can certainly help you with."
----------
"Ya know," Ava starts, lifting her beer from her mouth after taking and swallowing a decent ass amount. "I'm a little offended none of you fuckers have invited me along for the kill tour."
Dwayne chuckles, the beer in his hand looking significantly smaller than it actually is due to his big ass overall size. "Didn't realize that was your thing, cuz."
"Psshhh." She makes a sound, leaning back in the chair, lifting her middle finger to the sky. "They came after our family. Of course, I want my pound of flesh."
Matteo's smile is small as he traces the mouth of his bottle. "Well, there still remains a few outliers we haven't caught."
Being reminded of that makes Roman scowl as he tightly squeezes the bottle in his hand.
Despite his shutting down the city, a few bitches were perhaps smart enough to get the hell out of dodge when they realized Solo was also dead. When they realized that while Roman had been "eliminated," not having the protection of the men who led the charge meant their fates were left up in the air.
So, they ran.
Not that it's made a difference. Roman has accompanied Dwayne on various trips to other states where the Bloodline has locations, where tips from traitors who were dumb enough to stick around and ended up singing like canaries from a little bit of torture. Or, if Roman doesn't accompany Dwayne for said trips, Matteo does.
They're smart enough to know it's not wise for all three to leave the city at once. Not when they're working to restore order and balance.
A process that's…..going, which is good, but it's still going, which is the problem.
It's been two weeks, and they're still not there. At that point where Roman can bring his wife home, and that….that's been rough, to say the least.
It helps to have the people around him, but even them combined together don't equate even half of the comfort and relief his wife provides him.
"Good," Ava replies, smiling craftily. "Save some for me, then." She then gasps, looking around the room. "Has big ears told you what we came up with for you know what?"
At that, Roman rolls his eyes, but he can't ignore the skip and leap of hope that dances within at the shift in topic and conversation.
"Hopefully, you did most of the thinking, cause Lord knows this man ain't got a romantic bone in his body," Dwayne scoffs, gesturing to Roman who only scowls in response.
"I'd argue there's maybe one there." Matteo shrugs. "Or, half of one."
Ava snorts. "More like a quarter." Roman flips her off, something she entirely ignores. "Anyway, so here's what we came up with…."
As Ava moves into specifics, excitement painting her face and accompanying her hand gestures as she almost illustrates what they, what Roman primarily, intends to do for his wife upon her return. A plan months in the making, marked and interrupted by several setbacks but something he's ultimately decided to follow through with.
Roman tunes them out to a certain extent, focused less on the conversation at hand and more the people.
In under a year, his life has taken such a turn. Many unexpected turns. He's gained and lost, lost and gained, gained some more, lost some more, and started all over. Overwhelming in a lot of regards, especially considering the latest chapter has easily been the most traumatic.
But, there's also something else he can't deny. Something he's been working on in therapy with Lita, that he'd love to be able to talk with Solana about, but something he can't really deny, nonetheless. Even if he wanted to.
He's gained such a loyal, strong inner circle. People who, if he continues upon the path of honesty, have always been there for him. It's just been him, Roman, who's kept that wall up.
The wall that, according to Lita, kept the "bad" people out but also kept the "good" people from getting in.
She wasn't wrong.
Roman has spent so many years pushing people away, only letting a select few close to him, and while a few of those select few have caused him an insurmountable of pain, hurt and trauma, there still remains the fact that he still has people he can trust.
He still has family.
Even more, Solana's several statements regarding as such return to the forefront of his mind.
"The girls deserve to have a big family who love and support them, Ro."
Solana was also right.
His family might look slightly different now, but they're still family.
"I—" He cuts in, interrupting the conversation among the three regarding that. Equally important but not as germane as what he wants to say. Needs to say, really. "I want to thank all of you."
"Hell hath fucking frozen over." Ava scoffs. "Did you just…..thank someone?" She smirks, crossing her arms, head tilted. "I didn't think you were capable of that shit. Not unless it's Solana."
Roman scowls, but he doesn't disagree. "Are you done?" She rolls her eyes and lifts her hands in a defensive manner, signifying her silence. Roman shifts in his seat, suddenly uncomfortable with the three sets of eyes on him. "I know I….I'm not the fucking best with this shit, but I….I do appreciate the three of you. What you've done…..for me." He primarily looks between Dwayne and Matteo. "Especially you two….you saved my life." He swallowed. "I don't….I don't take that lightly."
"You better fucking not," Dwayne shakes his head, sipping some of his beer. "I don't risk my life for just anyone."
"And, you're not just anyone, Roman," Matteo adds, his tone more on the serious side. Sincere. "You're family."
"We're family," Ava corrects, looking among the men. "A dysfunctional ass family of killers and shit ton of trauma but family nonetheless."
Roman chuckles. "Yeah…." He clears his throat, carefully trying to balance vulnerability with some element of business. "Matteo…." His brother looks his way, eyebrow raised. "You said you trust Vinci, right?"
Vinci. The man who assisted Matteo in making his way back to Italy without the Administration finding out, allowing him the element of surprise needed to carry out his hits. A man who, according to Matteo, has worked hard for and with him for over a decade.
He offers no hesitation, just a nod of confirmation. "With my life." Skepticism is raised. "Why?"
A bit of a delayed response, because that damn trust thing. Roman isn't sure how he's supposed to trust anyone outside of the group of people who helped him ever again, and while this Vinci fucker isn't anyone he knows, Matteo does. Matteo is vouching for him, so that has to be enough.
For now.
"We'll need someone we know we can trust to handle business over there." At that, he and Dwayne share questioning expressions. "Because I need you two stateside with me."
Matteo is the first to respond, that skepticism still looming. "Yeah?"
Roman rolls his neck, explaining. "I….I need people around me I know I can trust." A survey of the gatherers. "And outside of Solana, I don't know anyone I trust more than the people in this room."
Ava sits forward, seeing her cousin's gaze on her. "Wait…." She lowers her beer, small smile growing on her face. "You're inviting me into your inner circle?"
Roman nods. "You may be a pain in the fucking ass majority of the time, but you're smart. Loyal. I know I can trust you, and I know you'd be a valuable asset."
"Hell yeah, I would." She agrees. "Some estrogen to tamper down all that testosterone would probably do you all some good."
Roman doesn't entirely disagree. He just continues to share the tentative plans he's been mentally mulling over since returning home. "I'm also….I'm considering including Escobar."
"Escobar?" Dwayne's look of skepticism sure. "Brotha, you sure you didn't hit that big ass head of yours at some point?" A sarcastic question, of course, but there's also a hint of truth. "You hate Escobar."
"Dumbo hates everyone. What else is new?"
Roman ignores Ava. Her being on his council will be….an adjustment, for sure. "I did, or I do, but….I can't deny what he did, and Lopez wants him to be the liaison between us and the Cartel, so it only makes sense to include him. In some things. Not all."
"Isn't he technically your in-law as well?"
"Don't remind me," Roman mutters, trying to wipe his brother's valid but irritating reminder from his mind.
"I hate to break it to you, Roman, but it seems Solana's maternal side of the family is….large." Matteo's comment doesn't help, but it's not meant to. Meant to remind The Tribal Chief that his future is most likely filled with forced interactions with….people. "It might benefit you to get used to….large family functions."
"Make sure that Stephanie girl is there."
Matteo frowns. "Did she not tell you, not so eloquently, might I add, to fuck off?"
"Sure did." Dwayne answers. Proudly, almost. "I'll wear her down."
"Oh my God." Ava rolls her eyes, standing up and heading to the kitchen. "I need another beer."
"I'll join you," Dwayne announces.
"Please don't," she objects. Not that it makes a difference as he says something about warming up a slice of pizza.
Their departure leaves Roman and Matteo alone. A blanket of silence befalls them. One that has Roman moving around in his seat, eager to down the rest of his beer. In the madness and chaos that's thrived and consumed his life in the wake of fixing everything, this evening of just….calm, of normalcy, is appreciated.
Needed, even.
"So…." Matteo starts, placing his beer down on the coffee table. "Your inner circle…"
The younger man nods, stroking his beard. "Well, there are openings now."
While Roman is dead serious, Matteo laughs quietly, shaking his head. "I bet there are."
For the Elder council as well, but that's also being taken care of. Another task Roman is overseeing with the help of his cousin and the man before him.
"Thank you, Roman." Matteo's voice has shifted to a serious, solemn tone. "I don't take the honor lightly. Especially after what's happened…."
Roman says nothing initially. Just nods as something unfamiliar and indescribable fills him. Emotion, maybe? Some form of it, perhaps. He just knows it's partially settled by the conversation he had with Lita about this.
One step at a time.
"You've earned it." Is the response he settles on. The latter portion of his response a bit difficult for him to share but a truth, nonetheless. "Besides, it might be kind of hard for us to work on this….brother shit, if you're on the other side of the world."
While it's not the first time Roman has referred to Matteo as his brother, it's certainly the first time he's verbalized it in an accepting manner.
Especially in front of Matteo whose small smile can only be described as one of relief.
And joy.
Happiness.
"I suppose you're right, fratello," he hums. "I suppose you're right…"
Fratello
Brother.
And for the first time, Matteo's use of the word doesn't anger Roman. Doesn't pick at a long-term, never healing, always open, fresh would.
It feels relieving.
Healing.
---------
Despite an evening of relaxation and camaraderie, the next day brings about more work. More shit to work through.
"So…." Matteo starts as the two walk into Bloodline Headquarters, Dwayne planning to meet them later in the day, tasked with carrying out a side quest for Roman. "Who are we killing today, fratellino?"
Little brother.
Again, no irritation. No vexation. Just….the calm.
"Depends on who pisses me the fuck off," Roman mutters, and the two brothers share a small laugh and chuckle that's almost instantly washed away from both the minute they walk into Roman's office to see someone already waiting, sitting in Roman's seat.
Roman's fist forms at his side. Alicia's days are fucking numbered.
"You got a minute to tell me who the fuck you are, and maybe I won't blow your brains out just yet."
The man smiles. Older. Very old. His face reveals that he's seen decades of this world past him by, his eyes filled with countless stories of mischief and mayhem. A smirk on his face accompanies him standing, revealing a height rivaling Roman and Matteo's. He comes to stand in front of Roman's desk, leaning back with his arms crossed over his slim build.
"Well, I'll be damned." His voice is thickly accented. Familiar. Italian. "Can't say I ever saw this shit coming."
Roman is ready to kill the old man and be done with it, but Matteo grabbing his arms stops him from adding to his never-ending kill count. Roman looks over to see Matteo's head turned slightly, studying, observing, but something else. Something unfamiliar. Alarmed. He looks alarmed.
Roman frowns. "What?"
But, Matteo says nothing. Not to his brother, at least.
"Nonno?"
And, at that, Roman's gaze shifts back and forth, quickly, between the two men.
His chest tightens, asking again, but for a completely different reason. "What?"
Gaze on the old man, Roman sees how he simply raises his chin, offering a nonverbal response. And confirmation.
Only then does Roman see it. The slight but now visible similarities between not only Matteo and this man, but himself and the man.
In all of them.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Matteo speaks in Italian, his voice even, the former shock and confusion easing into a coldness that Roman often feels and see in himself.
"Well." The older man makes a sound, rolling his shoulders, face turned up in a brief grimace. "Given all that's happened the past few weeks, we realized it was time—"
"We?" Roman cuts in. It's the first thing he's said to the man he now recognizes the same way Matteo does.
His nonno.
Their grandfather.
This is their maternal grandfather.
"Hi, boys..."
Another voice speaks, but this time, this time there is no word to describe just what courses through either of the brothers as they turn around in almost perfect synchronization. Initially guarded and partially alarmed, that's punted away the minute their sight confirms what the auditory already knew.
Roman doesn't get disturbed often. If ever. It's not in his character. Matteo's neither.
But, it's a miracle that neither man stumbles back at the sight before them.
She stands in the doorway, an expensive, beautiful, intricately designed scarf over her head, tied under her chin. A wrap that slender fingers with disfigured looking skin slowly moves to undo, allowing it to crumple in her hands. She swallows, the lines on her face prominent as she frowns, her familiar light brown eyes bouncing between the two stunned men.
The weight on Roman's chest has grown to an unbearable amount, so much so that it prevents him from speaking. From thinking. From breathing, it feels like.
No, Matteo is the one that finds the wherewithal to speak the word Roman can't find in him to verbalize.
"Mom?"
------
welp. do ya'll agree with roman's decisions regarding jey and jimmy?
also, yes.....matteo and roman's mother is still alive.
reminder: next chapter is the last one.

Rise Characterizations Pt. 8!!!!!!!!
This has literally been sitting in my drafts for so long I forgot it existed. Sorry to all the Baron Draxum fans (and Draxum himself, bbgirl deserves better). If you're new to my line of notes here's the beginning where I started with Raph. Alright part 8, Baron Draxum, here we go.
Tumblr media
Language Habits:
Speaks in long and drawn out sentences, if you're getting nervous about run-on sentences you're on the right track
Due to this, tends to give speeches or monologues
Dramatizes everything fairly eloquently, look for the most exaggerated form of a word. Classic villain speak: "imbeciles", "brethren", "eliminate"
Puts emphasis on those dramatic adjectives and verbs
Occasionally refers to himself in the third person, not as often as Raph
Tends to yell or raise his voice when frustrated or lost in passion
A common gag is trailing off in a casual tone about the severity of his experiments ie his "if it works right" about the ooze causing pain when mutating that poor fish guy
Tumblr media
Personality:
Incredibly intelligent yet impatient. It isn't known to my knowledge who taught Draxum or if he taught himself, but his mastery of alchemy and fighting makes him a truly impressive opponent. However, he's always cutting corners to get to his goal. He wasn't willing to raise through the ranks of The Foot the traditional way, he created an army of mutants rather than seek yokai, and was unwilling to spend further time interpreting the prophecy of doom towards yokai-kind
Flair for the (over)dramatic. Draxum is almost your classic evil villain kind of guy. He'll pull out all musical stops, including flowing hair and clothes. On the other end he'll completely overreact and commit to things of little matter like his position as a lunch lady.
Unyielding in his stubbornness. Draxum is not easily swayed in his belief, and even as hard as Mikey tries he is not rid of his disdain for humans by the end of the series. Guy was also incredibly persistent in his research despite his lab blowing up twice. This also allows him to hold longer grudges, even resorting to childish pettiness if he feels annoyed enough.
Affinity for muscles and power. He was drawn to Lou Jitsu for many reasons, but a main one was definitely his muscles. All his guards are usually incredibly beefy, and he was immediately drawn to Raph as "beautiful" when he's reintroduced to his specimens. As for power, he's drawn to the dark armor and is lost in the ecstasy of being imbued with so much mystic energy.
Self-absorbed and egotistical. Draxum is kind of obsessed with his title and self-proclaimed responsibility for saving yokai-kind. He's not one to easily admit his mistakes and takes great pride in his work.
Willing to toe the line of morality. Huginn and Muninn have blatantly called him their evil boss, but Draxum does see his actions for the good of yokai-kind. I don't think he really cares if he's working with evil organizations (The Foot) or doing evil things if he saves the day.
Team builder. I think it's interesting how Draxum is drawn to building teams. He's drawn to working together, all he wants to do is unite yokai and his mutants into an efficient force. This does not mean he's very successful.
Tumblr media
Miscellaneous:
Has minor telekinesis
Was a warrior before he was an alchemist
Does not have a good relationship with the Three Heads (apparent leaders of the Hidden City)
Controls seeds that can a) grow into vines, b) expand into robotic vine gauntlets, c) encase his gauntlets into meatier gauntlets that can shoot out waxy cocoons
Is referred to as a sheep-man from the brothers, but I suppose whatever animal you interpret him as is up to you
Has a great singing voice :) ( which is subjective I suppose)
Alright now that is finally posted just gonna let you know that this Isn't the last of my rise analysis posts!! I'm so sorry for the wait!! I got lost in so many schedule things. I'll try and pump a few more analysis posts out within these next few weeks (excluding June 16-22), but I've also been busy working on miscellaneous wips. Thank you for being so sweet to me on all the other notes posts, you guys are so awesome :)

Pairing piece to Starved - you can find here -

Pairing: Arthur Morgan x Female Reader
Author's Note: For some reason I LOVE imagining High Honor Arthur so confused, awkward, and utterly obsessed with women - especially after your last rendesvouz with him *wink wink.* If you haven't read the first part, I highly encourage you to read it as I have it tagged above (I apoligize for the ugly link, I'm still trying to figure out Tumbr.) I've had the first part of this written for sometime now, but for the past few weeks I've been going back and forth between several other Arthur fan fictions I've been wanting to write, and I finally got around to finishing this one. So all in all, enjoy!
PS: My 2019 Macbook air decided to stop spell checking for me, so please give me a break on any errors present.
Summary: It's your turn.
Warning: MDNI, graphic sexual contact, oral sex
-
It was no secret that Arthur liked to wander.
And for the past several days he had been wandering over New Hanover doing absolutely nothing but trying to shake the thought of you.
Shot a rabbit once or twice, caught a couple fish near Owanjila, bought a treasure map off of a so called “adventurer.” But nothing seemed to cure him from the incessant memory that was you with his cock down your throat.
Now, as Arthur kicked pebbles down the Dakota River, a budding erection forming in his work jeans, he couldn’t help but to feel guilty. Arthur was no saint, and Hell would have to freeze over before he called himself one, but he knew the difference between right and wrong.
The cowboy knew you weren’t some cheap pair of legs he had bought at the saloon. He didn’t pay for your company, everything you did was out of your own free will. And perhaps that’s why he felt so guilty. Because when you stared at him, with that god awful grin plastered on your face, he didn’t take your hand and throw you on the cot with him.
He didn’t return the favor.
And now that’s all he dreamt of.
Your sweet juices pouring down his stubble as your delicate hands roamed through his hair. His tongue dancing against your sweet cunt as he looked up at your disheveled face. Your legs tightening around his neck in such pleasure that you were forced to moan into a pillow to silence yourself.
The thought itself turned him mad.
The cowboy let out an exuberant huff, realizing what he had to do. Whistling for his Turkoman, he jumps on the back of his mare, riding swiftly to Horseshoe Overlook as the sun falls below the horizon.
-
“Good to see you Arthur,” Hosea chimes as the gunslinger enters back into camp, slinging his saddle across the hitching post with a loud thump.
But the outlaw ignores his mentor.
Like a man on a mission, Arthur's sharp eyes scan the camp until they land on you standing by the fire, a half-drunk beer in hand. His stomach tightens as he watches Sean tell a joke, the small crowd, including you, erupting into a deafening roar of laughter.
Without another thought, the cowboy stalks towards the crowded campfire, placing himself silently beside you, doing his best to remain unnoticed. With a shaky exhale, he drags his calloused pinky across the side of your hand inconspicously, desperate to divert your attention from ostentatious irishman.
Like rain on a cool summer day, Arthur's heart pitter-patters inside his chest when your eyes widen in realization, meeting his with a dumbfounded gaze. His stomach nearly dropping as your lips gently part, just as they had for him in privacy all those days ago.
“Mr. Morgan,” you whisper in acknowledgment, a knowing grin tugging at your lips.
As your sultry gaze met his, Arthur had gone mute.
What was he supposed to say?
As if his vocal chords had been ripped out as a form of torture, the best he could choke out was, "I....You....Sorry."
Your brows furrow in confusion, tilting your head as if you were trying to decipher his mess of words.
Arthur attempts again, only for another string of nonsensical babble to spill from his lips. Frustrated, he lets out a curse under his breath before grabbing your hand and pulling you away from the drunken commotion without another word.
"Arthur?" You're able to drawl, awkwardly stumbling behind the cowboy as he swiftly drags you across camp, his hand fiercely attached to yours like a predator to prey. "Arthur!" You innocently laugh as he pulls you into the closed quarters of your private abode. "What'r doin'?"
The cowboy rapidly pulls down the flap of your canvas tent, turning to you with a scowl etched on his face. He grabs both your hands into his own, and opens his mouth in any attempt to just speak his mind. But once again, he is only able to choke out a string of meaningless rabble. In frustration, he drops your hands and quickly rubs his temples before falling onto his knees in front of you, not breaking your gaze.
And with a clear, desperate message, he hoarsely breaths, "Let me." Just as you had done days before.
Arthur's cock hardens as you look down at him, biting your lip out of seduction and bobbing your head up and down with a definite yes. He lets out an exhale of relief, quickly standing back up and instantly crashing his lips into yours without a second thought.
It was if God himself had given Arthur the ability to speak again as between kisses he is able to muster, "you've driven me mad." His hands reach up to cup the backs up your thighs, easily lifting you off the ground and setting you in your cot so your legs easily hang off the side. As if he were a godly man, he falls onto his knees in front of you with every ounce of prowess running through his veins.
You prop yourself up on your forearms, watching the man make slow work of the laces on your boots, refusing to loose eye contact as he slips your shoes off and neatly places them under your cot. "You've turned me into dog, woman," he confesses, shaking his head in utter fascination.
You push yourself to a sitting position, "Oh, Arthur," you yearn, knowing that for days, months, years, that this moment is what you had dreamt off.
You cup his chin in your hands as he stares deep into your soul, making work of your socks as he stares back at you, completely in awe of the beautiful creature in front him. He grabs your right leg, his calloused finger pulling them to his lips where he lands several soft kisses. Only stopping to inhale your sweet scent; worshipping you as if you were an ancient goddess.
You shudder as you fall onto your forearms, your head tilting down as you watch the cowboy hike your skirt onto your hips and place tender kisses upwards towards your thigh. His right hand, tensly gripping your left leg outward as you tilt your head up in pleasure
His stubble gently pokes at the sensitive skin of your inner thigh, taking his right hand and slowly pulling down your bloomers, tossing them into the corner of your tent without care. His hands find their way to your thighs, cocking your legs outward to him as if you were his to feast on.
Dumbfounded, the cowboy remains silent for several moments, admiring you bare cunt as if it were a prized painting hanging in The Louvre. "S'beautiful," he whispers.
Before letting himself touch you, he looks up at you one final time for that permission he so desperately wishes you to grant him. His eyes widen like the grand canyon, so intrigued and hypnotized by your body that he would do anything at your command.
You bite your lip seductively with a small grin, taking that as his permission to rub his lips up your thighs one more time before dragging his tongue up your seam.
His delicate, crystal orbs refuse to break eye contact as his lips connect with that bundle of nerves he knows every woman enjoys, simultaneously hauling both your legs up onto his broad shoulders.
With another hitched breath, your chin tilts upwards to the top of the tent out of gratification, slowly exhaling as his mouth works you. "Look at me," the gunslinger commands against the warmth of your cunt, his tongue rocking back and forth in steady beat.
You swallow and peer back down, his eyes already glued to yours as he observes every hitched breath and moan leave your lips, still pleasurably feasting your core.
Arthur couldn't help but to feel like the luckiest man alive as he tastes you, your sweet juices melting down his stubble as his cock twitches below his jeans. Your hands find his chestnut locks, gripping his shoulder length hair into your palms, gently pulling at the strands every which way. You fingers twist through his mane, just as he had fantasized days priors.
But Arthur was a greedy man; he wanted more.
He lifts your legs off of his shoulders, taking your right thigh into his left hand and pushing it outward on the cot. With his tongue still deligating your bundle of nerves, he thrusts his right index finger into your core almost without warning, causing you to loudly exhale.
But that wasn't enough.
He enters his middle finger, curling his two digits upwards as he gently hits that sweet spot of yours.
You were helpless at that point.
You let out a loud, pleasurable moan as his fingers rocked back and forth, his tongue violently massaging you, his blue eyes glued to your blush ladden face.
Arthur can't help but to smile into the warmth of your cunt, knowing that he was doing a good job at every loud moan that escaped your mouth.
"Gotta keep quiete girl," he's able to assemble, quickly grabbing the small pillow off the head of your cot and placing it over your mouth, barely missing a beat of his tongue.
You hold the pillow to your mouth, hiding the sweet sounds of Arthur's accomplishments as he continues to work at you.
Second by second you can feel yourself heading towards your finish, his tongue licking back and forth as if it was dancing to a steady beat, his fingers pushing in and out of you as if his life depended on it.
Almost without warning, your hips jut upward at his mouth like a feral animal in heat as even the pillow you hold barely hides the loud, wreckless moans of your finish. The feeling of your rapidly beating heart, pumps below your belt as sweat perperates down your forehead.
Arthur's tongue doesn't leave your cunt until both your legs are cocked open lifelessly to him, your breath finally evening out as you sprawl across the cot, utterly spent.
The cowboy stands up, proudly surverying his work. Taking his sleeve and wiping off your juices from his chin, the sweet taste of you still echoing on his taste buds. His cock rock hard behind the thin fabric of his jeans.
But just as you did to him days prior, he smiles at you and turns to the flap of your tent without antoher word.
"Wait," you call out.
The cowboy turns around, his brows raising in intrigue.
And you say the words he couldn't.
"Stay."
