OK okokok... gonna put this 'I just woke up' thought out there because this is tumblr and what else is it for? Someone has probably already said this and I haven't seen it, but whatever. I will throw it out anyway.
SO... Gale. We've all seen the posts where people quote the Gale lines about being naturally gifted with magic as a baby, a prodigy etc. and then point out that this is sorcerer behaviour.
BUT, what if... you're all right and it is sorcerer behaviour. BUT the orb feeds on weave/magic right? And sorcerers are born with innate magic... so what if he was born a sorcerer, then trained as a wizard, but the orb consumed his sorcerous magic. And that's why he's not as powerful as he once was, because, unbeknownst to him, all this time, he's been using that natural sorcerous connection to make accessing the weave easier. And now that's gone. Eaten up. Destroyed forever by the Netherese void.
And that's part of what's causing him pain. Because an instrinsic part of himself has been taken away. And he feels it like a phantom limb. Maybe he thinks it was actually connected to his relationship with Mystra, rather than a part of him, and that adds to his sense of loss from that relationship.
What if the first magic item Gale fed to the orb was himself and he doesn't even realise it?
#Baldur's Gate 3#BG3#Gale of Waterdeep#Baldur's Gate 3 spoilers#BG3 spoilers#Gale Dekarios#I looked up 5e sorcerer subclasses for this#because none of the ones I could think of would work for Gale#and I did not realise that one of the Aberrant Mind sorcerer origins is:#You were implanted with a mind flayer tadpole but the ceremorphosis never completed.#And now its psionic power is yours. When you use it your flesh shines with a strange mucus.#LOL!#How did I not know about this?#All origin characters and Tavs are Aberrant Mind sorcerer multiclasses in game and they don't even realise it#That one doesn't work pregame though I think it's hilarious#Is this why the game stops at L12? Because all the other levels are taken up by secret sorcerer levels?#but there's another origin option for Aberrant Mind that might work for Gale:#As a child you had an imaginary friend that looked like a flumph or a strange platypus-like creature.#One day it gifted you with psionic powers which have ended up being not so imaginary.#which works so well given Gale's habit of conjuring friends for himself#Storm sorcery - given his name this one's thematically nice - also it's adorable to imagine baby Gale flying around the nursery#Divine Soul is a maybe but do we really want to tie him to the gods more than he already is?#I don't think Shadow/Clockwork/Lunar would work for him

okay skimmed through Historica Arcanum: The City of Crescent ahead of a research project and I need to run this game RIGHT NOW; it has magic fatigue, it has a cat thieves guild, it has an astrologer wizard that is absolutely MADE for me, it has a cookbook complete with food alignments, and it teaches you how to swear in six languages. I am in LOVE.
#literally i teared up over the stargazer wizard subclass. this is not a joke I'm tearing up about it again right now#absolutely dope little 5e module it is jam packed and i could've kept listing stuff cuz it really is like. this book has EVERYTHING#I do think I'm gonna try to run it for research purposes#using course projects to put a timetable on having to run a certain number of dnd sessions: the grad student story#I haven't actually decided but I'll have to figure it out

[Art by Baydews on Picrew, link to picrew can be found here. Image description: A digital bust icon of my character (he/him), set against a light pink background with an array of gold star scattered across it. He is a young, thin, tan complexion Elf trans man with shaggy black hair with a pink fringe and longer pieces that frame his face, one red and one blue eye, brown freckles, a short chin beard and a sharp toothed half smile. He is wearing a light blue button down with several buttons undone as well as a green scarf. End description.]
Making this fun new friend for a game that's starting up soon, been wanting to play a class I've never played before so going for Sorcerer (Clockwork Soul) for this dude. He comes from a long line of sorcerers who have honor and order running through their blood and will do anything to uphold what (they see to be) is right by any means necessary. And then his story is basically, he hates his pseudo-cop family, so he fucked off to become everything they didn't want him to be 💙
#Eli Speaks#I was leaning towards Viggo but I can't decide#he's probably gonna change a thousand times before I settle on anything about him#and tbf my group hasnt even had session 0 yet lol#i just like making fun lil guys!#im not sure what level we'll be starting at yet but i was also thinking maybe fey warlock#but i have already played that#i just wanted to find subclasses that leant to chaos#but like wild magic barb wasnt calling to me#esp cause hes main class sorcerer#im sure you can make a good balanced caster/barb but i dont think thats him#i think ill just stick for sorcerer now#and to be clear the chaos would be coming from a multiclass not his original class#he's working with what his bloodline gave him and that is law and order and bull shit

the way I have a strong desire to give ruler salieri’s A3 a cello and violin and probably flute as well is based purely on Selena
At this point in my brain Salieri is literally FGO’s Selena help
#thinking about selena tempest’s cello it’s so fucking cool#also sword flute of capriccio#and now her new frame#on side note like the idea of one of his skill animations being applaud clap#the brainrot is strong in this one#ruler salieri with avenger subclass because his tainted fame will never leave him and its religious concept of grim reaper wheeze

I’m obsessed with the idea of a Dark Urge with the divine soul sorcerer subclass.
I know it’s like the cleric-flavored version of a sorcerer, but I would love it for story reasons. You could really lean into the whole child of divinity thing.
With a sorcerer in general, your magic is just an instinctive, intrinsic part of you. With the divine soul subclass, you would have that added level of having evil divine magic right from Bhaal himself (inflict wounds) and be shown to be his favored child with the “Favored by the Gods” feature. It would add another level of deliciousness to your Dark Urge’s relationship with Orin by showing that YOU were clearly dad’s golden child.
From a role play standpoint, it would be fun for evil Dark Urges to lean into and fascinating for good ones to contend with.
#dark urge#baldur's gate 3#bg3 posting#my favored alignment for durge is good and I have so many thoughts about this#for instance: would you be locked out of your abilities by being rejected by Bhaal?#or would your abilities shift to the neutral alignment since you are a child of none?#(or neutral because Jergal is your adopted dad now)#or would they shift to a good alignment because you are a master of your own soul and the divine spark within it?#so many brainworms…#we’d never get to see the higher-level subclass features in-game#such as wings and unearthly recovery but it’s fun to think about#I’ve made a wild-magic sorcerer durge but I had this subclass in mind when creating their personality

The way my Dark Urge is gaining more and more of a Mary Sue design as the game progresses like I swear I didn't intend for her to have heterochromia and golden face scales these things just happened
#got the heterochromia just bc I wanted to see if volo actually did anything useful. lol whoops#got golden scales because i wanted to multiclass into sorcerer and realized the subclass i chose came with free scales#like i'm not gonna turn down any of that cool shit obviously but i'm just thinking about how painful it's gonna be drawing her now#anna plays bg3#gyldan

Gorgug has tusks and Riz has fangs and they are such creatures and they are. Friends. Gorgug growls and Riz hisses and they actually both do some variation of a chirp or chitter and Gorgug's rage is a frenzy and Riz's bloodlust is a fury and it is. Good. They are not human and they do not have to be.
Also Riz claws and tail. Also you know how dogs and I think other canines but idk I'm not a mammal guy start drooling/foaming at the mouth because of overexertion or stress or anxiety? Gorgug when he's raging. This is less because he's half orc and more because he's specifically a berserker* and that subclass goes crazy. Frenzy, mindless rage, okay bitch we're snarling and drooling and animal and taking a level of exhaustion afterwards. Love that.
Solace is fantasy racist sometimes and I think they both separately had some trouble accepting themselves and their less palatable features and I probably rambled about that in a long post I can't remember rn but they do now and they are so good and I adore them.
*"For some barbarians, rage is a means to an end – that end being violence. The Path of the Berserker is a path of untrammeled fury, slick with blood. As you enter the berserker's rage, you thrill in the chaos of battle, heedless of your own health or well-being." - The Player's Handbook

BUFF & BONE
↬ dnd lore about buff and bone below
BUFF: Orc | Barbarian | Subclass: Path of the World Tree | True Neutral
✧˖ ° Being a strong fighter and leader is in Buff's roots. Or so that's what his father believed. You see, Buff is average. Unremarkable even. Buff never quite understood what being the son of a chieftain meant. Oftentimes he would found himself studying the world around him rather than paying attention to his duties. Replacing getting to know his subjects for mental acuity and self-discipline. Talking to people was overrated anyway. Disappointed, Buff's father sent his only son on a journey to prove his worth.
STR: 16 | DEX: 10 | CON: 14 | INT: 14 | WIS: 12 | CHA: 6
-
BONE: Skeleton | Fighter | Subclass: Echo Night | Chaotic Neutral
✧˖ ° Bone, previously known as " the Viper" was a masked member of the minor thieves guild faction out of the city, working as an interrogation and torture expert. This Faction and the local group of exiled necromancers have been at odds with each other in a dispute over a very powerful artifact that had the power to give eternal life with access an infinite number of universes and timelines. The necromancers accuse the thieves of stealing the artifact (naturally) and of course they did (obviously). After a few ill attempts of retrieving the artifact back ,the necromancers launched a full scale invasion of the thieves hideout. Knowing that all that follows is slavery or death, the Viper used the artifact, not knowing what to expect, binding to this soul and knocking him out. Unfortunately for the Viper, the Necromancers killed every one of the Thieves guild members and in fact, did take bone into servitude. He had remained with the Necromancers for 14 years, strung to a wooden board with all 4 limbs bound, suffering horrible attempts to remove the artifact from his being. Watching the artifacts side effects take hold, month after month his organic body rotting off and leaving nothing but clean white bone in its stead.
STR: 8 | DEX: 16 | CON: 12 | INT: 12 | WIS: 12 | CHA: 14

HOW THEY MET:
Buff's quest was much more difficult than he anticipated. What exact fortune was he meant to bring back that would be enough? And it wasn't like his father left him with much. Taking to a nearby village, Buff began doing odd jobs in order to take care of his basic needs. His next particular gig was enough to finally buy himself a new pair of pants. The catch? He needed to clear out a group of necromancers holed up in a cavern. Sounds easy enough except Buff's luck had just run out. - The Viper on the other hand, had a change of luck one morning and he is startled by screaming coming from the entrance of their cave. After 10 long minutes of the sounds of death surrounding his Chamber, The door is flung open and in front stood a huge, bloodied Orc. Thinking this is the end The Viper lowers his head, ready to meet his FINAL fate but is met with the sensation of a hard thud on a cold floor. The orc had severed his bounds, No words are spoken but almost immediately after, The orc smiles and collapses with a deep wound in his abdomen region now visible. Later the Orc awakens and notices bandages covering his wounds and a cold meal sat besides him, and in the corner sits a very small Skelton with a very disturbed look. "Did you do this?" asks the orc. "I felt the need to save you, seeing that you saved me" said the skeleton. After a while of bonding and healing the made the decision the adventure forth together, in search of purpose. During the orc's healing process, he introduces himself as Buff, the son of a powerful Orc Warlord. And when asked the skeleton's name he responds "I don't have one, who I was doesn't exist anymore, call me whatever I guess" and with a smile and use of his tribes naming scheme, "the Viper" has now become "Bone".
Bone's portions are written by my bf, wahoo! <3
#BUFF THE SOCIALLY AWKWARD ORC <3#headcannons that aren't present: bone is short with a big head and buff has orc teeth (still trying to learn how to mesh edit)#the way i was shaking in my bones reading Buff's backstory outloud BRUH i tweaked it for this post but yea#i hate public speaking#idk how i lead meetings as a gm it was probably the stimulants- HAH#bf took his dnd sheet with Bone's stats and lore AHHHH#i'll update once he's home#anyways our characters <3#oc: buff#oc: bone#ts4#simblr#show us your sims#ts4 edit

All right, quick rundown of our new PCs:
-While Maxwell seems to be continuing Murph's D20 trend of playing doofuses (only broken by Riz in JY because, well, he was reprising his very first D20 character), it looks like he might actually be our first balance between Murph's two different types of PCs---he's a reasonable, level-headed, intelligent guy who also happens to be a bit of a clueless rich boy. Also, to my knowledge, Maxwell may be our first instance of D20 having a PC whose class itself is homebrew---not just a homebrew subclass, like Pinnochio being a Destiny warlock or Gorgug being a Barbificer... barbarian/artificer, but full-on playing a homebrew class. To that, I say hell fucking yeah.
-Olethra is, of course, continuing Ally's trend of playing the most blatantly queer character at the table, and this time, their PC is a starry-eyed transfemme with a deep sense of wanderlust. I was, sadly, wrong about her being an Armorer artificer---at least, for now, and if I had to guess, I'd say that the mech suit is so she's not at a disadvantage as the only level two character in a party of level sixes---but honestly, I'm really curious to see how Olethra's gonna level up. I don't think we've ever gotten a straight martial character from Ally before, and if Olethra doesn't take some artificer levels (or becomes an Arcane Trickster), she might be their first. (Liam doesn't count, rangers are half-casters.)
-Daisuke appears to already be beating out Lapin and Ricky for the title of "hottest Zac character," and after that incredible introduction... oh, boy, do I fucking agree. It's so fun to see Zac play a genuinely smart and crafty character, which is honestly more common than most people think---Gorgug eventually found his smarts and confidence, Lapin was... Lapin, Skip was very intelligent and just needed time to get used to being in a human body, and Pib was obviously a little scheming stinker. Seriously, though, Daisuke is a delight, I love that he's a Gunslinger, and I think we all need to appreciate the poetry of the comedy sniper actually playing a sniper. Who is also an old divorced outlaw who kills people who try to mess with his ex-step-granddaughter.
-Marya Junkova, the woman of my dreams. Once again, Emily has created a character who I will become unreasonably obsessed with, and I am not just saying that because she's spooky (my favorite D&D character asethetic) and an artificer (my favorite D&D class). I love her accent, I love her look, I love the idea of her being a happy-go-lucky adventurer who has been turned sad and cynical by trauma, and I am so fucking excited to see the lore behind the crow-thing she's gonna kill. Also, I'm all in favor of the headcanon of her being undead... mainly because my current character is also a steampunk-heavy, spooky, undead artificer with a gun and weird pets. They have a mechanical heart.
-If it weren't for Iga Lisowski, Van would be a completely different direction for Siobhan, but I am so stoked to see her play an IDGAF old woman with a sweet, supportive husband again. She's a badass, she's a bicon, and I really wanna know how she lost that arm. Not much to say about Van as of right now, I'm excited to learn more, and I can't wait for Siobhan to repeatedly wreck everyone's ears with that whistle.
-And last but not least, we have a beautiful return to the Kingston Brown vibes with Monty, who doesn't really appear to have that "chaotic entitled" energy that Lou found so appealing after playing Squak, though of course there's something to be said about him playing a famous author again. I love seeing Monty be all warm and paternal and supportive, I love how he really encapsulates the energy of your archetypical nature caster, and I love how there's a little bit of chaos wound into this big, comforting soul. Though... that being said, I do hope he's got a decent subclass under his belt. If you're not playing a Gloomstalker or doing an insane multiclass build like Siobhan did with Rosamund, rangers can be tricky.
#i love being wrong and also being right#i'm guessing that van is a battlemaster or something along those lines#and i am ALL IN FAVOR of the headcanon that things get more magical as they get closer to zood#because this isn't an oops-all-martials campaign! artificers and rangers have magic!#and olethra could be an arcane trickster! we don't know yet!#dimension 20#cloudward ho#maxwell gotch#olethra macleod#daisuke bucklesby#marya junková#van chapman#montgomery lamontgommery

Why is it so difficult for Larian to just treat Wyll like an actual character?
I mean, seriously. He's an origin character. He's basically the prince of Baldur's Gate. His character arc and story is the most central to the main plot of the game. WHY is he treated like a side character? Why does his romance have less content and more bugs than HALSIN'S? Why is his entire story basically skippable? The first time I played BG3 I almost completely missed the fight with Ansur, because whenever I talked to Wyll, he never said a word about it.
Yes, he was basically completely rewritten right before the game left early access, and yes, he and lae'zel are the only origin characters who share a writer, but WHY does that mean that they're STILL incapable of giving him more content?
The way Larian bends to the will of fans for things like adding Halsin as a companion or letting you recruit Minthara without killing the tieflings (neither of which really make sense narratively) but completely ignore every single comment on their posts asking for more Wyll content is a HORRIBLE look for them, and I truly don't understand why they refuse to just LISTEN.
I would really like to be able to say that this isn't about racism. I really would. But I truly can't think of any other reason why they would dig their heels in this strongly. Wyll's voice actor is pretty active in the fandom, he's a literal knight in shining armor, he, Lae'zel, and durge are the most connected to the main story of the game, and he has so much potential with the whole 'monster hunter becomes a monster' thing.
The 8 patches in the years since BG3 released have added so much content, and so many huge story overhauls. I truly don't understand why photo mode and more subclasses have been given more priority over making a main character of the game actually functional, but it's been driving me insane for months now.

Now that I think about it, having Ulpipi, who outright has the iconic Hunter Set look, THE Bloodborne look, with a dash of Henryk, be in the subclass with 0 DEF, huge HP, and the highest Attack is pretty funny. That’s a Bloodborne character.

do you guys remember suzuhara the classmate from the first volume who's implied to have a crush on mahiru? well i can see her finally gathering enough courage to finally confess and mahiru, stunned and flattered, immediately accept because why wouldn't he?
the first few dates went great! and then. he gets bored of it. real quick. he feels like such an asshole?! it's not even a month yet and he already gets bored of her?!
Kuro "maybe you're gay?"
Mahiru "what??? i literally like girls??"
Kuro "oh, bi, then"
Mahiru "that means i like boys and girls! so that doesn't explain why i don't feel... much about Suzuhara-san..."
Tsubaki "maybe she's just not your type."
Mahiru "she's literally the prettiest girl in school!"
Tsubaki "do you think she's the prettiest girl in school?"
Mahiru "..."
Tsubaki "maybe pretty isn't what you're looking for"
Kuro "damn, you're good at this."
Tsubaki "thanks. i've got experience with my subclasses. Anyway, Mahi, have you ever thought about what kind of person you want to date?"
Mahiru "someone... nice and caring?"
Belkia barks out a laughter "BORING?! that's such a safe answer! Not what you really think of!"
Higan "now, now, let the boy assess his feelings on his own pace. he'll figure it out sooner or later."
Mahiru "WHY ARE YOU GUYS TALKING LIKE YOU KNOW ME BETTER THAN I DO?!"
and they do, in fact, know that he has a taste for the unhinged, and suzuhara is just too normal for him

i think i might've cracked riptide. or at least the black sea side of things
tl:dr (the rest is under the cut) - there's a third god in mana, a god of night, who's linked to the black sea, niklaus, kuba kenta, chip, and the entirety of my egg theory (search the tag on my blog for further reference). please do read the rest because i do think i've connected the dots here
i'm gonna start in an odd place and you're gonna have to bear with me for a moment but i promise it'll make sense in a second
kuba kenta. not a super relevant guy at the moment, but he's had his moments. he cursed both chip and gill to suffer nightmares that worsen each time you sleep, a curse which eventually kills you. it's spread via his claws or teeth when he mauls you, and the wound will become infected, leaking black ichor. where have we heard of black ichor before? mayor loffin, the blossom boss, the empress: basically anyone who's made a deal with niklaus hendrix and had bad intentions has had their deal corrupted and thus started coughing up black ichor
interesting connection, but they don't have much in common as characters. i mean, niklaus hendrix was a pirate, and kuba kenta is a vice admiral for the navy. but what else is kuba kenta? a demon. a demon summoned or at least found and enlisted by the navy. a demon who regenerates each time he dies and is now in captivity in the naval base in the black sea. who else is linked to the black sea? niklaus hendrix. bingo. but before we move onto him, let's stick with the navy for a moment. the navy who has a base in the black sea where they're up to all sorts of shady things including, according to a recording jay found, potentially expanding the black sea (or at least researching its expansion). weird. the navy's interested in the expansion of the black sea and they've enlisted a demon who curses people to suffer nightmares and leak black ichor. black ichor, black sea
niklaus hendrix. what do we know about him? well, he's a tiefling who used to be a pirate lord known as captain hendrix. he has access to the wish spell, allowing him to make deals with all sorts of powerful figures across mana, deals with mysterious prices, deals which are corrupted if the person has an impure desire, thus making them cough up black ichor. he marks his deals with the symbol of a crescent moon, filled in black, which jay learns symbolises corruption. interesting that this moon doesn't seem to be linked to lunadeyis, goddess of the moon. no one's made the connection in canon. we also know niklaus has direct ties to the black sea. he knows what happened to the black rose pirates when they disappeared there and accidentally created the black sea in the first place - he said to chip he knew that arlin was still alive, but suffering. he gives lots of special treatment to chip (technically he has three deals going with chip at the moment: the one to de-age ollie, the one with the deck of many things, the one with captain widow's heart), and says it's important for chip to save arlin but not touch anything in the place arlin is (heavily implied to be the egg - he specifically says "not you anyway" about not touching it, so i think that's what gillion's favour is gonna be. check my posts under the egg theory tag for more info). so chip's related to the black sea too (also have made more posts about this, check em out)
but there's one more thing about niklaus that's very interesting to me. when asked his desire, what he wanted, he gave the one word reply "freedom". my running theory so far is that he's a warlock for the entity trapped in the place beneath the black sea, and he was trapped into a deal long ago and is going to make gillion release the entity. but i'll get into the entity in just a moment. further evidence of niklaus being a warlock: there's a subclass called 'the genie' which pretty much describes everything i think he's got going on. seriously, i think that's almost definitely his class
okay moving on. time to get into the prophecy and the legend lore. because holy shit guys. okay. prophecy. i'm gonna go through it line by line. "an entity threatens the world's stability" which was represented in the animatic in the episode as a darkness. "caged in the deepest layers of infinity" well we know it was locked away, and it was trapped in the place beneath the black sea, where there's a strange city that seems to be frozen in time. this seems to fit with 'deepest layers of infinity'. "the seal remains locked by a key of divinity" the seal, i'm guessing, is the egg that we saw in the animatic and the black rose oneshot. the egg which caused the black sea's creation when drey touched it. now 'key of divinity' is, i think, likely gillion himself. he's the chosen one, right, and he's been shown to be able to unlock doors that no one else can, like on desire island when he was getting the compass (which niklaus made, so perhaps if he's the warlock to this entity, he made that door as a test?)
divinity obviously relates to aster and lunadeyis, the only two gods we've heard about thus far, of the sun and moon respectively. but isn't two gods strange? what about the rule of three, a rule which seems especially relevant with three protagonists, and even more so when two of those three are connected to the gods (gill to lunadeyis, jay to aster - yes i know gill is likely technically connected to both (or is he?)). a third god, then. a god of the stars? that completes the trilogy, surely. except no, that doesn't make sense. we haven't had any star symbolism or references. besides, aster, the sun god, has her name meaning star. and the sun being a star, perhaps she's already the god of stars. so back to square one. the sun. the moon. what about the night? a dark, corrupting, chaotic force. well, that fits perfectly, don't you think? and who is our god of night? why, none other than the entity threatening the world. why else would the goddesses themselves need to seal it away?
back to the prophecy. i'm actually going to skip a bit and go straight to the line about the conditions of the chosen one's birth. "underneath an eclipse, in the midst of a storm". eclipses happen when the moon covers the sun or vice versa. for drama's sake, let's assume it's probably a solar eclipse, so that also relates to darkness. storms are chaotic. so maybe gillion's birth conditions are related to this night god
onto the legend lore. "a map that is a guide and key" the map which appeared on the backs of drey, chip, and finn. surviving members of the black rose pirates. interestingly, neither lizzie nor roofus seem involved in this map business, but i'm sure there's a reason for that. it leads them to the hole in the sea and acts as a key to let them in. "it leads to chaos infinity" well, we know this is the entity, perhaps the god of night and chaos, and infinity references the prison it's kept in. "the guarding giant, the nameless prince, the unborn kings, all await to be inevitably free". i'm going to guess the guarding giant is jug, who used to be a member of the black rose pirates and clearly didn't make it out of the black sea. the nameless prince we've heard of before - or we've heard of a prince before, one who consumed worlds. it was referenced in the feywild arc, so it's possible this prince is the doctor, and either the doctor is the nameless prince or a completely unrelated prince. the prince could be chip, as i've theorised before, or niklaus (unlikely, i think), or the entity itself. prince could also relate to princes of hell, which links back to kuba kenta the demon, so perhaps the entity is a prince of hell type of god. we've heard of hell before in canon, as that's where filipe went. maybe there'll be a hell arc. maybe the place beneath the black sea is hell. who knows. "unborn kings" is the only one i don't really have an idea for yet. there was a mountain with a crown atop it carved into the spiral staircase the black rose pirates went down in the hole in the sea. there's a mountain (volcano?) on the opposite side of the planet to the big tree of mana. probably those things are linked somehow. either demons or dragons i'm gonna guess
so what do we have so far, as a summary. i think the entity trapped beneath the black sea is the god of night and chaos, who will be released by gillion under the conditions of niklaus' favour. niklaus is a warlock of this god, with the subclass of genie, allowing him to grant wishes but keeping him trapped in servitude and forcing him to set up this way for the god to be released. possibly this is why niklaus doesn't leave his pocket dimension very often. somehow, the navy is involved, either directly with niklaus or on a different branch, with kuba kenta serving the god of night and chaos (did i mention the curse he gives is very linked to night, with the nightmares, and is obviously very chaotic. also who do we know is capable of breaking the curse? clerics of lunadeyis (and possibly of aster, but we have no evidence of this as of yet) and the navy being interested in the expansion of the black sea. is kuba kenta serving as a messenger between the god of night and the navy? is this why he has such a high status? or is the navy double crossing him - as he's now imprisoned and doesn't seem best pleased with it. it's not clear if the navy is serving aster by attempting to destroy this god of chaos and night, or by attempting to release it? either way, they could be misguided and not reflecting aster's true wishes, after all she played a part in locking the entity away
there's a lot we don't know, and a lot i could pick up if i rewatched the whole campaign and took lots of notes (which i plan on doing once i'm done with uni for the summer) but this is what i've come up with so far. i'm not rereading this whole damn essay, so apologies if there are typos or parts that don't make sense
what do you guys think about this all? is a god of night plausible or has bee wings-of-flying done the connecting the dots meme
