My fic for @dpxdcbigbang is officially live, with delightfully fitting art from @numinous-scribe, hahaha. Entirely unsurprisingly, it involves clone issues and Data EnKrypton and both Tucker and Kon being their own hyper-specific brands of ridiculous.

things that are fun to believe in: ghosts. aliens. magic. yourself!! It’s not like the world is spilling over with clones, is the thing; especially not genetically stable super-powered hybrid clones with– Wait, Tucker thinks, and lifts his head to stare blankly at the poster on his bedroom wall. Well, there’s a lot of posters on all of his bedroom walls, admittedly, but a specific poster on a specific wall.  “You’re a genetically stable super-powered hybrid clone,” Tucker says to his poster, still staring at the digitally-rendered face of a teen idol superhero. Superboy continues to grin cockily at him, because he’s a special edition poster and obviously isn’t gonna stop doing that.  Tucker, very slowly, reaches for his phone and types something into Bing after all.

Wouldn’t it be just horrifying for the guardians of the Silent Realm in Skyward Sword to be corrupted by either malice or gloom from BotW/TotK and thus looking essentially like the blights that killed the champions?

And wouldn’t it be so fun to make Sky and Wild have to face that horrible combination of what’s probably somewhere in the top five of their worst nightmares?

Just imagine it, the Silent Realm bleeding through into the regular realm on Skyloft. The color slowly draining away into that haunting bluish-grey of the Silent Realm. Eerie bells ringing in the air. Gloom seeping onto the floor, because the Silent Realm has been corrupted, and it’s no longer a place Hylia has any control over.

The guardians of the Silent Realm with gloom covered weapons, eyes dripping gloom from them, and bodies becoming more and more coated in gloom as the guardians flicker in and out of view near the Light Tower on Skyloft.

And then the guardians awaken. You know, the guardians that have never been fought before and therefore have no known method of defeating them?

please im like... Obsessed with the red thing. what is the red thing's deal. i want to know more.

hello thank you...it's from a story project i'm working on tentatively titled Through the Red Door/"hallucinogenic warehouse story". the red thing is, as far as we know, the sole inhabitant of a world that's parallel to ours. an empty world of red light and ash and bizarre building-like structures. our protagonist Donovan Crane first sights it during a bad car crash on LSD in the mid-1960s, and he thinks it was just a dream for many years...until 1974, when he sees it again in the window of a half-constructed office building.

everything "human" about it is false, the eyes are fixed and the nostrils don't go anywhere. if i could figure out a place to put human ears without it looking silly i would add them. it doesn't eat people, but it likes to rip them into chunks with its horrid flat human teeth. its skin is thick and rubbery like a dolphin's and the air surrounding is is cold. it doesn't appear to really have an end, and either extends off into the darkness of the building or just tangles around itself. it is in fact very large

fic rec! 5K DC x DP fic, featuring whump for Danny

Summary: Damian goes investigating a government compound, and finds a familiar face strapped to a table.

Comments: Damian and Danny are twins in this fic, but I love how their reunion isn't loving. Danny doesn't really expect Damian to help him, and Danny doesn't have much interest in rekindling their brotherhood, just getting out. To that end, it's Damian who takes all the small steps. Helping him to escape, making sure he's not left behind, respecting Danny's boundaries. It's a gruff reunion between two hardened boys, but it feels all the more real because of it.
