It's interesting how these cults always revert back to sexism. Like there is evangelical cults that are obviously sexist. But with NXVIM and Twin Flames too, when you hear the "gurus" talk, it's there so quickly.

I am very interested in cults, not for the torrid details or to sit and think "that could never happen to me" but because... these are situations that should not exist, but they do and the more people that write books like this, telling their stories and the more people who read them, the more likely it will be that we can help people in these groups and stop people who start them.

India Oxenburg is the daughter of actress Catherine Oxenburg who herself is the daughter of the Princess of Serbia.

India grew up in California and had a period of time where as a teen and young adult, she felt lost and unsure of what to do with her life. And like a fair number of people her age she felt like sge was rhe only one who felt this way.

It was during that time what she and her mother would go to their first ESP class this Executive Programs Soultions promised to help people not just cope with their problems, but get rid of them, and help them become more confident and motivated in their professional lives. India found that this program spoke to her and she became more and more involved.

Like Scientology, ESP (a part of NXVIM) gave you a path to rise in the organization - for a price.

India decided that this was for her and became more entrenched in NXVIM, all of its classes and groups, and it's leader. I don't want to focus on the abuses she and other people suffered, because that should really be read in her words as the experiences she had. what struck me is that even when she was in the cult in the deepest way, there was still a part of her that was connected to her family and the values she held at her core and that was so important, because the bonds to family and friends outside the group are what cults are desperate to break. Break those ties and there is no where for a person to go, other than the cult. The process of breaking down what one knows is right and putting the leader's warped code in its place, is essential for keeping people in. And the leader *needs* people in the group because without them they have no one to control and without that, they can't function.

Catherine Oxenburg was very very vocal in trying to get India out of NXVIM and that is fantastic, but there's more to it.

When in the subgroup of NXVIM, DOS, there was a master/slave thing happening India was a slave and was expected to be master to her own slaves, women she brought in. Now, the way the cult got people to do this was making it out to be that the "master" was like a mentor and everything the "slave" was asked to do would be for their (the slave's) own benefit. So don't get hung up on the words.

India was relentlessly abused by her master punishment for small things being depervation of food and sleep. She was expected to treat her slaves the same way, but India says she couldn't do it and most of her punishments when she was forced to give them, mostly involved Journaling. A small part of her knew this was wrong.

And that kind of thing is what makes cults collapse. Enough people get out because they hit a breaking point, one where it doesn"t matter if they have no where to go, they have to go, and get through to others. Or, like what happened with NXVIM, the leader is finally brought to justice. Of course there is another way that cults fall apart, sadly. Going the way of Jonestown and Heaven's Gate.

After the cult, India had a tough go of it, trying to work, and help authorities, and heal from what she'd gone through. She doesn't sugar coat it and makes it clear that even though now she understands everything her mother did, there were times that she was very angry with her. Nothing wraps up in a tidy bow, but it that's okay, because she's still learning, like the title says.

nope. I don’t really know much about her other than the fact that she’s in Madre Sólo hay Dos. although I did see that her husband is like the son of the former Mexican president and is also a venture capitalist soooo I had no hope that he’s a good person... wait is nxivm at all related to the jeffrey epstein stuff? because I think I saw something about her husband and that but I didn’t read the article or look into the details at all... i decided I don’t want to know and im just not going to invest my interest in her as a person.

The only thing I'm surprised about with the Dalai Lama, is that this things videos haven't gone around years ago. Especially considering his ties with Keith Rainer and NXVIM years ago.
