My mum forced me into a conversation last night about why I’ve been stressed lately which I didn’t want to have with her because I knew it would be pointless and it was so fucking upsetting.

Cuz the reason I’m stressed? I’m a disabled person (physically and also neurodivergent) living in a world where your inherent value comes from how much money you can make and everything is ridiculously expensive right now and I can’t work full time.

And she’s like okay well you need therapy for your anxiety and you said in the past you couldn’t work at all but now you are and I’m like therapy will not make this problem go away? Also I’m not working part time because I’m anxious about working full time?!? It’s because I’m disabled and I physically do not have the energy or capacity!

Also she made a fucked up comment about how maybe this is why her friend washed her hands of her daughter (who is also neurodivergent) because it’s too hard. Like wow.

The most frustrating part about all this is I was like I don’t need you to do anything. I’m not asking anything of you no money no support I don’t need it and she was like but we have to fix this. She couldn’t get it through her head that this cannot be fixed at least not by her and not anytime soon. Not without huge societal overhauls. And she couldn’t just accept I don’t want anything and that would be the best thing she could do.

Ok so I was searching Ebay for no particular reason when I saw this up for sale.

This Transfeminine Ventriloquist Dummy that was originally a Slappy the Dummy Goosebumps plastic doll from...around the 2010s.

Frankly I have no idea why you would sell this. Not because I think it has no value, far from it. I think you shouldn't sell this because it is far TOO valueable.

If I had this in my possession, you would have to pry it from my cold dead hands. Look at her. She just seems so happy. Why would you trade away that happy face?!

Wonder why she's happy?

Maybe it's because of her transition, maybe it's because she's her own person and no longer a character from a popular IP, maybe it's because she is admiring the creativity of humanity. Who knows. Maybe it's all three.

Regardless, I hope she gets sent to a good home. Perferably to a home that has a full DVD boxset of "The Golden Girls".

This might just be me, but I am starting to notice a serious trend of independent animation being critisized simply for being self indulgent.

It happened with Hazbin Hotel in 2019 and it's currently happening to The Amazing Digital Circus now, which is which very sad to see. It's not enough to be pattern but it's definetly enough to be noticeable.

A lot of people who don't delve to much into creative mediums seem to forget that art: ALL ART, is a self indulgent medium. The target audience, when creating a project, is yourself. If other people like it and want to see more, than cool. But at the end of the day, you (or in this case, Gooseworx and Vivziepop) are the target auidence for their/your projects.

"All the characters in Hazbin Hotel reek of Tumblr and teenage edge" Vivzie designed all the characters when she was in Highschool and wanted to reuse them for her series. Of course they have 2010s Deviantart vibes, she grew up a 2010s deviantart kid and wanted to keep that vibe.

"Jax is total Tumblr Sexyman Bait and everything is too colorful and bouncy and annoying!" Gooseworx said themself that they like Jax's character archetype which is why they wanted to include him. Also have you SEEN Goose's other work? Bouncy and colorful are their thing.

There are plenty of things to critisize about HH (And it's spinoff HB) and TADC. Even as a fan of these works, I have my issues with them, some even as a result of this self indulgence, but disliking them so vehemently simply BECAUSE they are self indulgent really discourages people from making art, especially in fields such as animation.

TLDR: If you want to see more independent animation and art being made, you have to let people get a little self indulgent. You might not like it, but at the end of the day, it isn't made for you. And that's ok.

Hot Take but I feel like the new Helluva Boss short would have worked better as a full episode rather than just a 5 minute short.

It has concepts that imo should have been fleshed out more and imo the ending was way too abrupt.

I feel like that could have been fixed if they just made a full ep.

Something about FNAF that I do not understand when it comes to it's incorperation of the book lore to the game lore.

Why didn't make the Missing Children in The Missing Children's Incident Charlie's friends from the Book Series.

They made Henry canon to the games, they made William canon to the games, and they made Charlie Emily canon to the games.

It would fit the lore too. So far, we know in Canon that there are (at least) six missing children in FNAF.

Jessica, Carlton, Marla, Lamar, John...

And Charlie makes 6.

So why didn't they go with that?

I already talked about how much I love the new Hazbin Hotel show in my threads account which I will link in a seperate post maybe, but I will say before I post some Alastor fanart before college starts on the 23rd....but I will say this...

THE FACT THAT CRITICS AND AUDIENCES EVEN OUTSIDE THE FANDOM ARE LOVING IT IS SO VINDICATING YOU HAVE NO IDEA!

Like everyone was saying "oh Hazbin is gonna turn out bad Hazbin's gonna turn out bad" for so long, calling it cringe and shit, and seeing some of those former detractors turned fans, as well as Professional Media Critics praise this show makes me feel so goddamn good!

Like I told you! I told you it was gonna be hype! I told you it was gonna be a banger!
