I feel like I should play with the unique properties of an Echo that comes from Azem more. Azem had precognitive abilities specifically attuned to foreseeing danger in her case, and so do her shards to a small extent - many of them are capable of predicting attacks, for example.

So like… if my WoL picked up a job stone that utilised clairvoyant skills (like AST or phantom oracle) could that enhance her innate Echo abilities? Kinda tempted to make Oracle Mise’s canon phantom job so I can fuck with her. She can see the ending to Dawntrail in the Occult Crescent, and I guess I’ll know how that goes for her when Dawntrail ends.

Wilhelmina Marrow (DND/Pathfinder) - Aasimar Bard, Female, Pansexual. Constantly has an angel in her head that yells at her to defeat evil and be a hero, etc. - always trying to refuse the call. She is a traveling bard with an affinity for haunting music and the stars. A little sad. Unfortunately very competent when all she really wants is a friend or two and no responsibility.

Wren Ward (DND/Pathfinder) - Aasimar Sorcerer w/ archetype in Bard and Geomancer; Nonbinary (they/she), Bisexual. Traits: Willing to do anything for their friends, trusts their gut with varying degrees of success, cheerful and ready to try anything once - no matter how ill-advised. They are very live in the moment. Religious trauma! Very touchy person - loves nothing more than cuddle piles and hugs tbh.

Cassandra Delvue (DND/Pathfinder) - Damphir Desecrator Champion. Nonbinary (She/they), lesbian. Betrayed by her ex, but thanks to amnesia she only has vague remembrance of it. Came back from the dead wrong. Intimidating in physicality and demeanor. Might start crying if someone was consistently nice to her...if she wasn't so damn suspicious of people.

Augury (DND/Pathfinder) - Tiefling Tempest Oracle. Female, no sexual preference. Broke out of a cult and now trying to fight God. Self-assured evil lady who will do anything to keep herself safe. A bit arrogant and condescending, but in her defense, she can usually back it up. Great to kiss in the rain, considering she has a little stormcloud above her head most of the time due to a curse - beware of lightning!

The Owl House Post-Finale/Post Watching and Dreaming Roleplay Request

Anyone up for an Owl House roleplay with me? I was hoping for a roleplay that takes place during the timeskip of the show, sometime after the finale.

I also want Palisman to play a big role in the roleplay as well. I love the concept of palismen so much that I was hoping if we RP that we can have it play a bigger role than it did in the canon series.

I also wanna do a thing with King going to Hexside and making friends, falling in love, and even making some enemies in the process. Maybe have him form his own Hexsquad.

Okay, so, y'know those AUs where Hunter can see the ghosts of the previous Golden Guards? Yeah okay so that except with your OCs, so it's immediately a clusterfuck.

The millisecond the Grimwalker Ghost Zone realizes this is an option, Jasper slaps a moratorium on that shit. Absolutely NOT. The deal was that Hunter lives as long as he stayed loyal. I DIDN'T MAKE A DEAL WITH BELOS TO SAVE MY BABY SO THE REST OF YOU COULD FUCK IT UP FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE PIT.

Everyone else is like okay, okay, yeesh, sorry, fine, we won't haunt Hunter. If nothing else they can respect the fact that Jasper himself is refusing to make contact with the kid he loves so much. And the excitement of this newfound aspect of their existence would've died down pretty quickly…if it wasn't for the fact that Enoch exists.

Enoch isn't gonna let this go. This is the perfect opportunity! They can actually make contact with the current Golden Guard and convince him to kill Belos, giving him all the intel gathered from nearly 200 Grimwalkers and their ortet over 4 centuries. They can't let this chance pass them by. She is GOING to talk to Hunter.

Jasper is NOT going to let her.

Hunter really wishes that these ghosts would stop fistfighting when he's trying to DO HIS JOB TITAN DAMMIT.

Jasper's plan to make sure no one ever talks to Hunter predictably falls apart upon making contact with the enemy (Enoch). Sure, Jasper manages to prevent Enoch from talking to Hunter, but everyone else is just kinda hanging out watching the chaos so like. Chit-chat is inevitable.

Granted, no one else tells Hunter anything Enoch actually wants to tell him, because most of the ghosts don't want the kid dead and the others don't want to face the wrath of Jasper and get dragged into the fight with Enoch.

But Hunter's smart. He knows all these ghosts are past Golden Guards, that's obvious because they're all in uniform. They've been haunting him since he started scout training, and for the most part they're pretty chill…except those two. He's 99% sure these people are his family, tho it's weird how similar everyone in his family looks and how many of them are Golden Guards. He has questions, but Jasper and Enoch's…everything…makes him think it's really not worth trying to get the answers. He kinda wishes they'd all go away, but he doesn't have the heart to sic the Oracle Coven on them.

Basically, just Hunter being haunted by the Golden Guards and being annoyed by every second of it while Jasper and Enoch are slapfighting in the background. He's like Stan Lee in that one Spiderman movie, except instead of being oblivious to the fighting going on behind him, he is well aware that it's happening and is refusing to acknowledge it.

Hunter lying in bed staring at the ceiling with bloodshot eyes at 3am while Jasper and Enoch wrestle and yell at each other on his bedroom floor until he finally snaps "WOULD YOU TWO TAKE IT OUTSIDE, SOME OF US HAVE TO WORK AT 4AM."

And while the other ghosts are not as obnoxious as Jasper and Enoch are, they are, unfortunately, useless. Hunter has tried to get something out of this haunting and there's just nothing to get, aside from the dubious pleasure of the ghosts' company. He asks Tell about coven policy and Tell distractedly answers while watching Enoch pull Jasper's hair and Hunter is just like "that hasn't been a thing for 50 years" and Tell is like "lol yeah it wouldn't be." He tries asking Dust for tips and Dust just glares at Enoch where she has Jasper in a headlock and tells Hunter to never ever EVER take some creepy little girl on as an apprentice and Hunter is like oooookay. He tries asking Virtue for tips and Virtue is like "dude, I only lasted 11 months" and Hunter's like. WTF. He asks for help with his homework exactly one time, sliding his textbook across the table and asking Caleb to quiz him, and Caleb looks at the book and says "I never learned how to read", and Hunter just throws his hands in the air and gives up.

He thinks he understands why his uncle never wants to talk about their family. Sure, it's probably because the pain is too much. But it's also probably because they are all fucking lunatics.

Of all people, Temperance ends up being the one Hunter gets along best with, and also the one who gets the plot/reveals rolling. Temperance knows what it's like to wonder about the family you have no idea about and no way to learn about them. Temperance knows how much that sucks. Temperance never learned the truth and was barely given a lie; he died looking for his family, and in death he found them, at which point he realized 1) Shit, the truth sure is messed up! 2) His family is a collection of maniacs connected only by their shared trauma and one man's DNA, and 3) You know what, he's going to get to know and love all of them anyway, fuck you Belos.

Temperance just starts casually hanging out with Hunter and making remarks that answer a number of questions Hunter didn't know how to ask and cements himself as the least-annoying, semi-useful ghost, whose company Hunter might actually sorta kinda enjoy, just a little.

At some point Temperance casually refers to Jasper as "your dad", which--well, Jasper often yells at Enoch about "leaving his baby alone" so now Hunter has two 2's to put together and he's like. Huh. Okay then. His father is the sort of person who will spend his afterlife slapfighting a teenager. No wonder Uncle never talks about their family.

Hunter: And why is…my dad…constantly bodyslamming a 15-year-old?

Temperance, sagely: Because he's a braver man than any of us.

Hunter has seen Enoch fight, and heard some of the things she shouts, and knows full well that none of the other ghosts want to deal with her, so he has to conclude that yeah, Temperance is right, his dad is braver than the rest of them.

Hunter still doesn't know how his overgrown family tree is supposed to be laid out, but he does glean that Enoch, for some reason, doesn't like Belos, and may have tried to assassinate? him?? at some point??? And seems to potentially want to tell Hunter to do the same, which. No. Hunter is not going to do that. But once he realizes that's what the constant fighting is about, he's a little more grateful for Jasper's intervention, even if he wishes they'd KEEP IT DOWN when he's TRYING TO CONCENTRATE, GOD. And also maybe wishes that his dad would take five minutes from strangling Enoch to properly introduce himself to his orphaned son, like, it'd only be polite. All the other ghosts have introduced themselves. Or at least kinda introduced themselves. But all the other ghosts have also made it clear that they refuse to get tangled up with Enoch (and that they're honestly relieved Enoch has been focused on Jasper instead of them for the last few years) so maybe his dad really can't take five minutes to introduce himself. Hunter doesn't really want to know what Enoch might get up to if Jasper stops holding her off.

Hunter, watching Jasper narrowly roll out of the way of Enoch's diving elbow drop: It's good to know that my father is so loyal and devoted to his duties as the Golden Guard that even in death he's doing everything he can to protect the emperor.

Temperance: *chokes*

I don't have any specific plot ideas for how things would unfold as we lead up to the show timeline, but I think it'd be funny if Jasper and Enoch are so preoccupied fighting and screaming at each other that they're just completely unaware that Hunter is just. Figuring stuff out. Either cuz Temperance tells him or cuz he's smart enough to put it together.

And I think every reveal needs to happen the most anti-climatic way possible. It starts with grimwalkers casually mentioning how they died while Hunter is like wait, what? Belos killed you? Well, you must've done something--Belos killed you too? And you? Well surely he didn't kill all of you, I mean--aha, see, he didn't kill Virtue! Wait, what? Not directly? Uh…okay.

At some point Caleb's like "well when I was your age, 400 years ago" and Hunter's like, wait, you said Belos was your brother. How are you his brother if you were alive 400 years ago? I'm sorry, he's how old??

Every reveal is just another moment of "this might as well happen." Hunter's brain is numb to it. By the time Hollow Mind happens, all he does when he finds the tree tunnel of Golden Guard memories is go "Oh, okay then. Cool" and walk in.

Luz: Hunter, this is awful, omg, are you okay?

Hunter, about to climb into a painting: Sure.

Luz, dragging him out: WHAT ARE YOU DOING??

Hunter: I just wanna see how Dust died, apparently it was really embarrassing and he never wants to talk about it.

Luz: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

Belos: Yes, Hunter, what are you talking about?

Belos calls him a grimwalker and tries to kill him and Hunter is terrified but there's also a part of him that's like, ah, okay. A lot of things are suddenly making sense.

Can the ghosts show up in Belos's mindscape? Maybe the ghosts can show up in Belos's mindscape. Jasper and Enoch are going at it same as always and Belos watches Enoch suplex Jasper and is just like, well, there's no way that I would ever imagine this, so…this must actually be happening?

Enoch realizes she's inside Belos's mindscape the exact same moment Belos does and abandons Jasper to launch herself at Belos like a maddened chimpanzee.

Jasper lands hard next to Hunter and just lays there for a second, winded.

Hunter: Hey Dad.

Jasper: HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW THAT??

Hunter, knowing better than to rat out Temperance: You haven't exactly been subtle these last few years.

Luz has completely lost the plot.

Okay okay: Hunter pretends he doesn't see them. At first he thinks he's just insane and is like "well that's inconvenient but I still have to go to work I guess" and then is like "oh actually I think these are previous golden guards actual ghosts. That makes sense. They want to impart their generations of knowledge to me, their successor. Maybe this is a spell that gets cast when you get your mask or something. Anyway they've never been very helpful so I'm just going to keep ignoring them." Enoch keeps trying to haunt him and leave "KILL YOUR UNCLE" messages on chalkboards while Jasper is trying to claw her eyes out. He's also set down the firm "hunter will die if he is disloyal, so he must stay loyal until he is old enough and strong enough to escape." So basically the deal is NOBODY tell Hunter SHIT until he's like 18, and then it's loredump time. Well, telling people the truth has never really worked in the past. So. May as well.

I'm also imagining a kind of. Ghosts can't die but they can like. Reset. If you're a ghost and you get stabbed in the chest you go POOF and you're back in the ghost zone and have to get out again and it's deeply inconvenient. Jasper and Enoch keep poofing each other so they're not always around. Eventually the other ghosts realize Hunter can see them and decide that Jasper and Enoch should probably NOT know that.

So whenever jasper and Enoch are both temporarily benched Tell offers vaguely parental advice and avoids the question when asked what his actual kid was like. Dust is kind of a dick who isn't particularly invested but he WILL critique Hunter's form when he's practicing. Temperance is definitely the most sympathetic whom Hunter likes the most. Virtue tries to avoid conversation because he has no idea to talk to Hunter without him realizing he lived less than a year and he's not supposed to know that.

Miles isn't invested in shit. He doesn't care if Jasper or Enoch "win" but he likes being rude. He's also twelve and makes fart noises when Hunter is trying to stand silently at attention. Miles is the one who keeps fucking up and dropping lore because he's not even paying attention, he's playing games on Hunters phone (he made him get a scroll he does not use)

In Hollow Mind when the other Grimwalkers are there helping Hunter and Luz get out of there Hunter knows them all by name and jasper is like YOU COULD SEE ME THE WHOLE FUCKING TIME??? and that's how Jasper and Enoch finally came together to kick everyone else's asses

So, I'm still in the early stages of drafting that sequel story to my ongoing Pathfinder campaign. And have needed to come up with 9 main characters as a result.

Murder Drones OCs: the Platinum 12 Crew

The series may be over, but I'm still riding that Murder Drones high. So, I figured I'd show some Oc concepts I've been working on for a while. Big shout out to @jazzstarrlight and their My Immortal and Happy Family Timeline series, you are seriously an inspiration!

Warning: apologies in advance for any noticeable errors in the art, I went traditional with these so the coloring may reveal parts of my sketch process. Plus, I'm still figuring out my scanner. And forgive my horrible handwriting.

Some Background:

These characters came from the Plat-Binary System. Specifically, the exo planet Platinum 12, known for its high concentration of platinum ores and resources. The colony on this planet was, unlike most, a drone friendly community. Humans and drones lived as equals with each other, respected and treated like fellow sentient beings. While there was no cross-marriage/dating between the two groups, they took care of and supported each other, Humans with maintenance and drones with non-human friendly tasks. The planet itself was a rather harsh place for organics, so most lived in a nearby Space Colony: the S.S. Theodosia and coordinated with groups on the planet that did the mining operations.

However, when the events of Episode 5 happened, the Colony tried to help with controlling the situation while preserving human/drone lives. This would result in working with the Cabin Fever scientist in working on a cure with the help of [REDACTED] While they did make progress, the cure code from Copper 9 became corrupted as it was being transferred out. At the same time, the System was attacked, resulting in the colony's destruction. Sending the surviving crew fleeing across the universe in search of safety. Now, I envisioned these characters to possibly make it to Tungsten 13 in the MI comic, and possibly establish the drone refuge, but that's up to Jazper and the Oracle Axolotl to decide, I won't impose.

Sera: The Leader of the Platinum 12 Survivors

While it is true that the Absolute Solver is responsible for the creation of the Disassembly Drones, I was curious what one that could control and use the Solver would be like. I also had a thought while making this. If the Solver is an Eldrich being that forms in mutated AI, then is it possible for it to mutate into different strands? Much like the virus it was originally seen as in the beginning? So I decided that she could use a different form of the Solver, hence the ability to not only use it, but the resulting bio-organic parts:

While a kind and motherly type of leader, Sera wasn't always what she is now. After the destruction of the planet Platinum 12 in the Plat-Binary System, along with the adjoining space colony, she suffered with some heavy trauma and PTSD. Driving her to the point of madness sometimes. Especially due to her memories of [REDACTED]. Many files of her past will remain REDACTED for now, at least till later in her story. One other note: her singing voice has a haunting beauty to it. Almost as if she were human..............

(EDIT: I forgot to mention this, but her style is very much a vampire hunter's esthetic. Specifically, D from the Vampire Hunter D series. If you've seen it, you'll know. If not, I highly recommend it. Especially the movie Bloodlust for the art alone!!)

Emi: The Team Mechanic and Technician

If N was a Golden Retriever, Emi here is a Mini Aussie Shepard. Full of energy and even a little insane at times. While originally loyal to CYN/Absolute Solver, she and Jak were sent into the Plat-Binary System to carry out their orders. They managed to invade the Platinum 12 space colony and react havoc among the human and drone population before being saved and stopped by [REDACTED]. After being injected with the same strand of Solver as Sera, her optics changed color as the two strands mixed. The resulting mix freed her from CYN's control, and she was free to become who she wanted to be. Dying and gaining her buns in her hair, she grew to love parts of human culture. After Platinum 12's destruction, she followed Sera and the rest of the crew as they fled across the universe to escape the following destruction. While somewhat clumsy and airheaded, they're a mechanical genius, able to repair and build almost anything. Also, the first of the group to have a canonical voice.

Jak: The Right-Hand/Tactics Expert

Jak was originally one of the top soldiers in CYN's army. Almost on par with J. He led Emi to the Plat-Binary System to destroy what remained of humanity after the fall of Earth. They first attacked the planet Platinum 12, then found a way onto the colony above it. As they attacked the colony, they were stopped by [REDACTED] and captured for study and observation. After hacking both he and Emi's systems in an effort to override CYN/Absolute Solver's control as admin, they were injected with a new strand of the Solver code. The resulting mix led to their freedom, allowing them to become who they wish. While Jak was apprehensive about joining the colony in the beginning, he soon grew to care about those who helped him. When the Solver reached the Platinum 12 colony, he swore allegiance to the colony and attempted to defend/fight back the attack, however [REDACTED] stopped him. Knocking him and the crew offline and placed in an escape pod, sent out into space before the colony was fully destroyed. Having failed his home, he swore himself to Sera and became her new loyal Right-Hand man. Helping the surviving crew as they look for a new home. The new base would be an overgrown chapel they find on another Exo planet, be it Tungsten 13 or otherwise.

HEX: The Hacker/Recon Companion

This little guy was found on another planet in the Plat-Binary System while the crew was fleeing. Sera was exploring another hidden Cabin Fever facility working with Copper 9 in an attempt to find parts of the patch code to unscramble/fix it, when one of her hunger induced episodes of madness started. While trying to get herself together, the knocked over some boxes of scrap, which landed on the little roach. Feeling guilty about that, Sera used her Solver to fix them up, like Uzi did in episode 4, but unlike the roach that left, they stuck around. Offering their help in finding any trace of the patch code. However, the hunger was growing worse. After all, her Solver is still a strand of Solver, and as a result, Sera began to crave oil from living drones. It eventually got to the point that she ended up attacking and eating not only drones, but humans on the planet. Resulting in her Solver-triggered metamorphosis. Hex sensed what was happening, and went to alert Jak and Emi. They managed to snap Sera out of her state, and they welcomed Hex into their little group. Hex tends to nestle into pockets of the crew's coats or under Sera's hat.

Fenrir: The Loyal Sentinel

The second critter to join the crew, Fen was found when the Crew came to a different planet near the end of the System. They were part of a squad that hunted down rouge drones, much like the group sent after Lexi in the My Immortal comic. However, one day, they were caught in a rockslide while chasing a drone. Suffering a crushed leg and pinned by rubble, their human handler considered them a lost cause and left with the rest of the pack, believing they would soon die. That's when Sera and the Crew find them. At first, Fen (known as Unit-F3N at the time) acted aggressively, flashing and snapping at any of the drones that got too close. Jak was more than willing to put them down for good, But Sera stopped him. She approached slowly and carefully, before using a rag to cover Fen's eyes and sedate him so she could fix them. Fen was confused and perplexed during the whole rescue to the point of being docile. Sera used her Solver to help fix their leg while Emi provided schematics and pointed out steps, watching the amount of sedation used. After the fixes were complete, the Crew backed off and released Fen, who stared at them from their safe spot for a while before running off into the wilds of the planet.

They would meet again sometime later, when the Crew gets swarmed by Sentinels while trying to find more supplies and parts of the patch code. They were battered and almost destroyed, especially Sera after using the Solver too much to the point of near corruption. Jak and Emi managed to regroup and tried to help Sera while cornered, only to be saved in turn by Fenrir who had returned to take vengeance after being left behind. After the fight and fleeing, the Crew repaired Fenrir once again. Feeding them scraps from meals and tending to wounds. Sera was still getting use to how Disassemblers slept, and mostly slept on the ground to keep watch. The first night with Fenrir, they cuddled up to Sera, allowing her to use them as a pillow while they kept watch for her. Ever since that day, Fenrir was made a part of the Crew and joined them on their search for a new home. His armor was upgraded/painted by Emi and was named by Jak after finding a book of old Norse Mythology. They primarily stick close to Sera and has the strongest bond with her. The Crew also had him whistle trained, using unique whistles crafted by Sera from a rare ore in the System that is no longer found. Each whistle has a unique sound, and Fenrir can identify which drone calls for him based on each whistle's sound. They continue to serve as a form of security in their new home once found, patrolling the grounds of the chapel and calling out at the first sign of danger.

Ok, that was a long one. And I still have so much more story to tell, especially the REDACTED parts, but that'll have to wait another time. Tell me what you guys think and I'll consider expanding the story.

Enna's subconscious

Fancast: Anastasia Tsilimpiou

Although she is inspired by @lucifers-legions' own OC Finduilas (daughter of Boromir in her upcoming AU Garthad Estel and thus Enna's first cousin) and possibly shares some similarities with her personality-wise, in The Lady of Ithilien she is very much her own character. She often appears as a faceless character (hence why I chose a picture of her hair in the edit), but she can (and most certainly will) also show her face. Enna will ask her who she is but she never answers and, if she's inclined to address the matter, she will answer cryptically. She's basically a sort of Greek oracle, which is beyond fitting since actress Anastasia Tsilimpiou is actually Greek. Not that it matters, but it makes a lot of sense. Now, I am going to spoil a few things so brace yourselves (and forget everything later, please).

Enna marries Crown Prince Eldarion in FoA 16. She's only a teenager, they both are (reasons as to why this happens will be revealed later in the story so I won't go much into detail about it here). Eldarion is—my interpretation of the character, don't get mad—a spoiled, immature little boy who thinks he's entitled to everything because his dad is King. He's also abusive to Enna. While he is verbally abusive to almost everyone—he thinks everyone is beneath him so he can treat them as he pleases—he's also physically abusive to Enna and causes her, although accidentally, to miscarry their child. That's when her subconscious/Anastasia first kicks in. I actually may call her Anastasia if she ever decides to tell her Enna her name. I don't think she will but no one really knows. I changed my mind way too many times and one of the reasons I'm typing this right now is to sort of cement my thoughts in my chaotic, messy brain. She honestly could give her a bunch of random names—she knows Enna better than anyone else, she's supposed to be her conscience after all—and may even tell her that her name is Finduilas. After all, the female figures Enna values the most are all named Finduilas (her grandmother, her stepmother, her favorite daughter aka the one who's most like her and that truly understands her) and one should value their conscience as well. A person's conscience is their essence so...a very, very valuable part of a person. That's why she could also tell her that her name is Finduilas.

Anyway, she starts appearing in Enna's visions and dreams. She takes many medicines, concoctions and other herbal things to alleviate her pain (she's constantly sick even though she hides it very well) and she starts seeing stuff and hearing voices as a side effect. No, it's not schizophrenia, it's just whatever syrup the healers give her and the manifestation of her own child. She first meets Anastasia/Finduilas following of her very first baby (she's just fifteen), and Anastasia/Finduilas essentially tells her that she should be ashamed and that she killed her own son. She has become a murderer. I included those two sentences in the edit as well because it is what Enna hears the whole time. Each time she loses a child (she marries three times total), her conscience will be there to remind her that she's a murderer. She will be a reoccurring appearance until Enna's death and will harshly try to guide her in the right direction. Both Anastasia/Finduilas and her younger self will haunt Enna for the rest of her life. Though they mean well...they are obsessive, often intrusive and might actually cause her mental resolve to weaken even further. Poor girl truly has no chance. Her presence will probably cause Enna to cry even more and to act even more erratically (she wants her to leave but she also wants to make her proud to show her that she can become a better person) and will affect the relationship with her loved ones...for better or for worse. She's basically a ghost that haunts her and never leaves. Because how can she leave if she's supposed to be her conscience?

This is basically how the haunting occurs. The melody you hear throughout the scene is Enna's lullaby and it plays every time her conscience appears as a reminder of who she used to be (spotlight on Billie) and the innocence and kind-heartedness she allegedly lost. I could have added the scene from YouTube but this is the most important bit. The last part of the video (I didn't want it to be like this/you just wanted to protect them/you could have hugged your children etc..is especially fitting)

Hija de la Luna - Prologue

A/N: I have been thinking about writing this for such a long time and finally I came to the conclusion to just do it!! So yeah this will be a Kili x OC story (: Please give me a lot of feedback and if there are any mistakes, just let me know!!

Warnings: None :)

Warmth engulfs my fingers as I take a sip from the herbal tea that the waitress just served me. The liquid has a bitter taste to it as it travels down my throat and engulfs my whole body in its warmth. Tiny leaves are still swirling around in the cup, trying to tell me what will be awaiting me in the next few hours while I sit around in the tavern. People begin to crowd the place, start dancing and talking about their day, leaving the stress of the workload they carried around behind. The smell of alcohol mixes with the fragrance of the various foods that get carried out from the kitchen. I take out my leather-bound journal to look at the previous signs that led me to this specific tavern at this specific time of day.  A wonderous adventure awaits. A task to save a kingdom from the wretched claws of an enormous beast. These specific images have been haunting my dreams since a couple of weeks. Always the same ones. A wise man will lead the way to the beginning of the story. A story that was never seen before. A company filled with various characters take their opportunity to get back what is rightfully theirs.

I finish my herbal tea and take a look at the leaves at the bottom of the cup. A smirk forms on my lips as I grab a pen from my satchel, that was draped over the backside of my chair. The man that leads the way to the journey is none other than… “Gandalf, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you.” I say without looking up, knowing already that the man is sitting across from me. A smile plastered his lips as he makes himself comfortable, letting his staff lean against his chair. “Well, I am sure that as a so-called Oracle, you already know why I am seeking you out?” Looking at him I give him a soft smile back. “There were several signs that tell me about an upcoming journey. Why do you need me for their travels though?” “It is very simple…” Gandalf takes out an old map and lays it out on the wooden table. “You know the tale of the dragon that stole Erebor and destroyed the kingdom. The king has made the decision to reclaim their territory and I was sent out with the task to find the remaining members of the company.” I raise an eyebrow at that. Dragons are known for not letting go of their treasure so easily, so how on earth do they think they could accomplish this?

Gandalf leans closer towards me, making sure nobody is listening in on our talk. I pull the hood of my cape further down, trying to conceal as much of my identity as possible. “Melody, I chose you as the 15th member of Thorins company. You will be their personal Oracle to ensure that their travels will be as harmless as possible.” A hum leaves my lips. His words echo in my mind. I am supposed to lead them safely to the end of their story? “Gandalf, you do realize, that I can’t foreshadow the entire journey, right? I am able to take a look into the future but even the smallest details can change the course of their journey. What if I predict something entirely wrong? I mean it’s just-“ “I already know how your future telling normally goes Melody. I am aware that you can foreshadow certain events but not all. I still wish for you to join the company.” With that Gandalf puts away the map and stands up from his chair. “I’m sure that when you come to a decision you will be able to find the right place and right time to join in on the adventure.” He smiles softly, before taking his staff and making his way out of the tavern. Gandalf asks of me to be the Oracle for the party. Do I accept or not? I wish to find the answers in the stars tonight.
