🐈‍⬛ regressor izzy hands

→ he’s an involuntary regressor (on the younger side of 1-5), and as a result of only really regressing when he’s put it off too long, or something negative has triggered it; he tends to be really teary and sleepy for most of it.

→ he spends heaps of his time small, curled up asleep somewhere or with someone as he tries to sleep it off. he usually ends up with gentlebeard, or frenchie, or fang. if jim’s small too, the two of them will sometimes be found together

→ he absolute loathes it, but he’s super emotionally fragile when he’s small, since he’s so tightly strung out every other time. there’s nothing worse than him getting into his head about something, getting teary over it and then getting mad he’s getting teary. it just spirals into an absolute tantrum

→ he loves watching people to their jobs while he just co-exists while small. he’ll sit on a crate and fiddle with scrap bits and pieces while while frenchie (and wee john) work, or sit in the galley with roach while the other man cooks. he even spends time up on the deck silently while buttons navigates

→ he’s not a huge talker while he’s small, not because he necessarily can’t talk, but mostly just because it’s a lot of effort at that point. he usually manages to get his point across regardless. him and jim have pretty much mastered having silent conversations between them

→ he’s a super picky eater, since he both gets an upset tummy really easily and because he just never feels like he has enough time to eat. the crew and his captains have learnt that the easiest way to get him to eat is to give him little bits of food throughout the day while he’s doing something. izzy hasn’t caught on yet

→ stede has a whole collection of embarrassing little nicknames for izzy, especially once izzy actually starts letting him be around him while small without a huge fight. actually most of the crew have some variation of nicknames for him. he pretends that he hates it more than anything; he loves it

→ on the few times that he will talk while small, whoever he’s with will usually he subjected to a complete infodump of facts about the ocean, and marine creatures and pirate ships. it’s as fascinating as it is endearing.

- ABSOLUTELY little glinda and little elphaba with cg!fiyero! I totally think that glinda and elphie would regress together. I have a great idea for how they both found out that the other regresses

- I want to write more for arcane, especially for jinx and probably sevika. jinx is canonically a regressor of sorts, so writing for her would be soooo fun

something about both ed and stede age regressing. they’ll switch between caring for one another, but then there’s times when they’re both regressed.

stede obviously grew up being bullied and i never imagine ed having too many friends either, maybe he just wasn’t super social. sometimes they talk about their poor childhoods and how lonely it was growing up. but now they have each other. so whenever they’re little, they’re practically stuck together, always beside one another, absolutely inseparable. they get to heal that broken part inside them together. finally, they have the best friend they’ve always dreamed of having. even if they met way later in life, they have one another now and they can experience what they’d lost.

Though he is a rule and regulation kind of guy, he is very chill when it comes to being your Cg.

Even though you're small he makes sure you know how to use a sword, just in case something were to happen.

i love him and he’s rotting in my brain, clogging it up with all his izzy hands-ness !! so much so he gets some headcannons !!

- tiny, tiny boy. he’s never older than three, and even then, he tends to go younger

- he usually regresses more involuntarily than the other crew and he’s still learning it’s okay to want to be a baby just because !

- loooves fire — if you can’t find him, chances are he’s sitting in front of stede’s fireplace with wide eyes and flappy hands:))

- stede’s there watching, though, so no burnt baby mishaps !

- despite being little, it doesn’t stop him from being bossy !! he’ll still parade around the deck squawking orders, all incoherent babble no one can understand:)

- very cautious of affection. like, very cautious. before stede left he could only handle it in small amounts, but he’s slowly making progress !!

- he clings to frenchie, ed, and stede the most — always toddling after stede, or bugging ed, or playing with frenchie’s fabric scraps while he crafts !!

- sucker for naptime.

- stede’s forcing ed to rest his leg? iz is curled up on his side napping

- oluwande can’t get jim and archie settled down? izzy is there in between them already snoring

- he’s not the biggest talker, usually opts for sleeve tugging and trailing behind his carer

Little Stede definitely strikes me as a "why can't the world just be good" type of kid, but in the way that sometimes concerns the bigs around him. Sometimes he's like "why do people have to fight? Why can't we all just be nice to each other :(" which is perfectly normal and every kid thinks that. But other times he's like "I don't think food should cost any money so I'm just going to take it" and Ed has to practically keep him on a leash to stop him from following through

Summary: Stede likes to think he's very in tune with the needs of his crew. Whether it be crew members who have very big emotions or crew members who feel like children sometimes, he likes to think that he's very connected to their needs. Which is why Izzy Hands drives him up the wall. But, when it turns out that Izzy might not be so different from the other crew members, Stede is excited to take care of his littlest crew member.

Izzy just wishes he could resist being babied, but he loves far more than he'll ever admit.

Izzy is the teeniest tiniest little guy in the world and he keeps Stede and Ed on their toes all the time! He gets his diaper checked every hour because he’s constantly wet, he just can’t hold it like a big kid! If he doesn’t have a suitable teether he’ll chew his fingers until the skin gets irritated! He can’t be left alone with his bottle because if he doesn’t get burped halfway through he’ll spit it back up and that makes him cry! He needs to be watched during tummy time or he’ll scoot off his blanket and get underfoot! He’s just an itsy bitsy guy and the whole crew takes their job as minders very seriously

You are so correct!!!! He doesn't know how to crawl, but every tummy time he rediscovers rocking and wiggling until he's made his way across the room

Most of the crew have never been around someone this itty bitty before and its A Lot of responsibility they all take very seriously, but also the intricacies of caring for a teeny tiny one are sometimes confusing (why does Izzy grab his own hair and cry, but also refuse to let go? It is a crew wide mystery)

He definitely needs feeding tiny meals constantly or he just spits it all back up, still spits up all down his clothes anyway and needs a full outfit change multiple times a day, and is always a little soggy despite how often his carers check on him and change his nappy, ye old sudocreme is being liberally used on baby Izzy
