- tiny, tiny boy. he’s never older than three, and even then, he tends to go younger

- loooves fire — if you can’t find him, chances are he’s sitting in front of stede’s fireplace with wide eyes and flappy hands:))

- stede’s there watching, though, so no burnt baby mishaps !

- despite being little, it doesn’t stop him from being bossy !! he’ll still parade around the deck squawking orders, all incoherent babble no one can understand:)

- very cautious of affection. like, very cautious. before stede left he could only handle it in small amounts, but he’s slowly making progress !!

- he clings to frenchie, ed, and stede the most — always toddling after stede, or bugging ed, or playing with frenchie’s fabric scraps while he crafts !!

- sucker for naptime.

- stede’s forcing ed to rest his leg? iz is curled up on his side napping

- oluwande can’t get jim and archie settled down? izzy is there in between them already snoring

- he’s not the biggest talker, usually opts for sleeve tugging and trailing behind his carer

OC Stuff - Coin Tea

Collection of Coin Tea doodles!! This is another OC story thing, it's like a slice-of-life/comedy like Azumanga and Nichijou, about these four high school kids in California and their silly day-to-day adventures.

I wanna call this story something stupidly long like "Coin Tea for 99¢" and you can say it the cool way like "coin tea 4-9-9-C" haha :P but it's just Coin Tea for short!!

Penny

There's Penny, the cool Brazilian girl who's very upbeat, happy, easily excited, and a little to eager to try things. She's like my ADHD but awesome. She does things head first, but she has her other friends behind her back to keep her in check. Penny and her family moved from Brazil when she was really little, so she's lived most of her life in Cali!

Nickel

Nickel's the total opposite. He's the pessimist to Penny's optimism. He's usually nervous, anxious, overly cautious, and easily embarrassed. He also has an incredible bad luck streak, it's insane how he does it. Regardless Nickel still is a very caring person, his worrying is just how he shows his appreciation for the others.

Dime

Dime is the go with the flow character. She's basically right in between Penny and Nickel on the scale, and just rolls with whatever Penny and Nickel wanna do. She's really laid back, and often the one that keeps Penny in-check from doing anything toooo crazy. Her parents are also from Argentina!! I only added that because they won the recent world cup haha.

Yen

Yen is a transfer student who just recently moved from Japan and to Penny's hometown. She's very laconic, but everyone still just understands her vibe regardless. Despite how quiet she is, she's really active in many activities like playing for the school's baseball team! Yen is pretty much a master at everything. To a comedic degree she basically can do anything, and is often extremely lucky too (poor Nickel..)

Your recent post about post-PH AU stuff got me curious: why would Linebeck not like Tetra? Is it something specific to the continuity with hum!Bellum or more of a common thread present across several/all your takes on Linebeck? It's an interesting idea that somehow never crossed my mind as a possibility, and iirc you haven't talked about it before, too.

i think it mostly boils down to him not taking kindly to having to interact with another captain, especially not one who used to have link on her crew and might encroach on his authority when the two crews work together. it's really just the most relevent to post-ph with bellum present, and bellum doesn't actually have too much of an influence on the way linebeck feels about her (bellum is the one who really hates her, he's a liiiiittle pissy that he never got to take all of her life force, and he never really spends the time with her to... not hate her at least a little).

i think there is a slightly through line between my aus of linebeck and tetra not being on good terms??? tetra isn't present in a ton of aus (usually not included if there's a big focus on just zelda), but i think in the ones where she does, their paths don't cross often. i know she's in the space au and the crimson king au, and i think linebeck has more or less the same feelings abt her (being that she's a little annoying but ultimately no someone he really pays attention to until she's actively causing problems or something) tetra tends to be more important with whatever link's got going on in aus. most of the time i just think linebeck and tetra generally aren't on good terms.

otherwise they just dont get along in my mind as captains who probably step on each other's feet a lot and maybe dont like each others crew much (i dont really think linebeck would be toooo fond of her crew either, and tetra is def going to feel some kind of animosity towards bellum even if he doesnt come clean abt his identity to her) and operate too differently

It was FINE… But also she could always reach him back then and he could reach her and - god! Forces herself to not overthink too much while feeding the poor snail tea with ginger and honey on a spoon. Nothing she could currently do anyways. If he takes too long to get back she’s gonna set sails immediately tough.

Wanted: Kim Hongjoong 

The picture on the wanted poster is similar to the alternate Hongjoong you're accompanied by...all but the scar drawn across his left eye.

How many of them are there?

You immediately turn to Hongjoong. 

"We are in the wrong universe," you whisper.

"How do you know?" he asks. Without another word, you hold up the wanted poster for him to see. His eyes widen and he pushes it down from where you hold it, hoping that no one passing by caught a glimpse. "Okay, okay."

"Are you a wanted scoundrel in every universe?" you ask in a hushed tone. He doesn't answer—just gives you a look of annoyance, and you take the liberty of asking another question. "Do you think I can try to use the Cromer to get us back right now?"

"We can try, but I doubt it will work. Whatever ability you have...it seems to be strongest when you are in danger. That's when you have been able to jump."

"So, what you are saying is...you want me to put myself in danger on purpose?" You eye him in disbelief. "Is there no other way?"

"Perhaps there is...I just believe this would be the easiest way, given the circumstances. I do not want us to be here very long and try to figure out an alternative." He looks up to make sure no one is listening. "We must also find a way to assure that you jump to the correct universe the first time. It could weaken you to jump so frequently. Did you not notice how you were feeling when we first got here? You could barely breathe, Y/N."

"I—I thought I was just panicking like anyone else would, being thrown off a ship," you admit. You take your own glance around and your eyes land on two more wanted signs on the wall.

"Alright. Whatever it takes to get out of here. I do not like it," you mumble. Hongjoong nods in agreement. 

"Well, the good news is that all we have to do to put ourselves in danger is to get someone to see us and recognize us as this city's wanted criminals."

"Recognize us? I think you mean you. What if I do not feel threatened enough to use the Cromer because they are not actually after me?"

"That won't be a problem, my lady." The man in front of you snatches a piece of paper from the wall beside you, unwrinkling it to face you. 

Wanted: Y/N L/N

"You have got to be kidding me." You shiver at the sight...perhaps you should have expected it at this point. You squint at the paper, carefully taking it from Hongjoong. The picture of the you from this universe resembles you more than the other alternates do. She has no scars across her face, and there is no difference in your hairstyle like the others. You run your finger along the picture, never having seen one so...real. "How do they do it?" you ask curiously.

"Do what?" Hongjoong whispers, pulling you into the shadows between a pair of buildings. 

"Make pictures so detailed?"

"They print..." Hongjoong trails off, scratching his head. "This society is very progressed. They have technology that yours does not have just yet."

"Wow." You marvel at the paper again.

"This universe is very industrialized." You pretend to understand what he is saying and nod, taking one last glance at the paper before crumpling it in your palm.

"Let's get out of here." As you crumple the paper, a thought comes to the back of your mind. You attempt to push it away, not wanting to spiral, but it persists. "What if I am already too weak to use the Cromer again?" you blurt. Hongjoong looks at you, his expression softening...something that reminds you of how your own Hongjoong looks at you.

"Y/N." He places a hand on your shoulder. "Your condition seems to be well. Do you know strong you are for being able to take us everywhere that you have? You're incredible. You're strong. I know this is something you're capable of. It might be difficult, but you can do it." You bite your lip, looking to your feet.

"I will try my best." You sigh. You miss your friends. You miss your Hongjoong. And though you hate to compare them, it's impossible, really. You can admit that this version of Hongjoong is comforting. He is similarly intelligent and respectful, and your interactions have been alright aside from the night you had pried too far with your question about what the Guardians had taken from him. You still can't help but think about it...

What could he possibly need back so badly that he has gotten into trouble with the Guardians himself? If you return him to his universe now, will he have less of a punishment for causing trouble? Maybe there will be worse consequences now that he is traveling with you.

When will it end? You seem to be a conduit for trouble, your previous luck now balancing out with negatives. If you had never decided to go on a journey without your father, would you still be in this mess? Maybe you never would have met Hongjoong or fallen in love with him...at least then he would be safe. His crew would be safe. Away from you.

You rub your hands together, keeping them close to the small fire that Hongjoong had started. He had decided it would be ideal to rest back at the abandoned building you arrived at and then carry on with your plan in the morning. So here you are, on the second level of the building that isn't flooded with knee-deep water. "So tired," you mumble.

"I can only imagine. You need as much rest as possible before we carry out our escape tomorrow," Hongjoong says, sitting down next to you.

"May we go over the plan again?" He nods. 

"Tomorrow, we will return to the inner city. It's simple, really. You will anonymously report that Kim Hongjoong and Y/N L/N have been spotted near the center of town. Do you remember that shrine we passed?"

If he is referring to the scarecrow-like thing dressed in torn black robes and a black hat...yes, you do know. It would be quite hard to forget.

"Yes."

"We will head there. We will wait for their men to arrive, and when they attempt to capture us...you get us out." You tuck your knees into your chest as you think about how terrifying his plan is. What other choice do you have, though?

"Do you think that I could return you to your universe? You mentioned that there has to be some way I can control the Cromer...we just have not figured it out."

"I suppose if you are able to return me, it would be ideal. It would save you from using all your energy to take us back and forth. Also, the longer I am with you, the more we are at risk of being captured by Guardians." You sigh, resting your forehead on your knees. 

"Is it too simple to conclude that I would just need to think about what universe I want to travel to before I go there?" you ask, your voice muffled. You cannot see Hongjoong, but you can imagine his face as he thinks. 

"No, not at all. Now that I think about it, that must be what you have been doing. The only times you have jumped to the wrong place, like this one, were the times you were not expecting to jump at all. Therefore, you were not thinking about a specific universe and the Cromer just took you wherever it decided." You lift your head, meeting his eyes that reflect the warm light of the fire in front of you. "Think about it, Y/N. The night we first encountered each other. When you brought us back to your universe, of course you had been thinking of your home." He runs a hand through his hair. "But earlier when I pushed you away from the Guardian without warning, the Cromer just took us here. I think it's because you weren't focused on a specific universe at that point. It makes perfect sense, Y/N." 

You nod. "If that is true, then I will try my best to get you home tomorrow, Joong." The nickname that you have for your lover accidentally slips off your tongue, your face becoming warm. He doesn't seem to notice as he stares into the fire in front of you.

"It doesn't seem much like home anymore, back where I'm from." You furrow your brows at his statement. 

"But if you do not go back, there could be worse punishments for you."

"Yes, but I think I've already received the worst punishment I could have in this life." You start to shift anxiously, thinking about all the possible things that could have happened to him for him to think like this.

"You must go back. The Guardians will kill you," you state, a sick feeling taking over you.

"I will return for some time," he replies calmly. "But I believe that to die while fighting for what is mine would be an honorable death." You so badly want to protest his statement, but you know this is something he has thought about for a torturous amount of time.

"Hongjoong..." He looks to you, his eyes glassy. "What have they done to you?" Your voice is just a whisper. He looks away again with hesitation.

"They took my love from me," he says. "She did not deserve that fate. I cannot imagine what she has gone through." He inhales sharply before continuing. "Every day, I pray that they've just brought her to a better world. One where she is not suffering or living a life she cannot bear." You feel his emotions intensely, tears starting to prick at your eyes as he opens up to you. You attempt to blink them away as you meet his gaze again.

"It must be difficult...I am deeply sorry that this happened to you." He nods, lips pulled in a tight line. "I am sure that she is out there, and I will pray that she is safe as well," you assure. Looking down at your hands that grip the torn hem of your dress, you start to feel the inevitable exhaustion of the day's events. 

Your head feels foggy as you think about many things all at once. You think about Hongjoong's lover and what she must have been like. You think about the seemingly endless number of universes. You think about how anything would ever be normal again if you make it home.

"Thank you," you hear Hongjoong say suddenly. He sounds far away, despite being right beside you. 

You can only manage to hum in response, your head falling to rest on his shoulder as you give into sleep.

Oh this one is probably the least fake fake fic — not title wise, but fictional concept wise. I allude to T & K keeping it quiet at first that they were dating in the searching our hearts for so long backstory (which this is totally getting ahead of myself considering searching is not completed, but there’s perhaps some potential for some “prequel” oneshots in that universe). And then I have a few prompts that I’ll probably roll together for a tour fic with this theme 👀

So I’m trying to think of another scenario of something I’m not likely to write for the sake of this game!

Okay okay — WoW hires Trixie & Katya for a new limited series

Each episode they visit another drag duo. And it’s all duos who are platonic, so there’s a focus on their friendships & the work they’ve done together. There’s this implied tie back to Trixie & Katya because they’ve worked together for so long & are so close, but they’ve never dated

Except they’ve been secretly dating for almost a year

So they have to navigate trying to be together while traveling with a small crew. For the most part it’s actually not that difficult — it’s easy to pass off time spent together as either brainstorming for the next episode or generally hanging out, although it does occasionally backfire that they wind up with one person or more tagging along on what was supposed to be a planned date

But they hit a huge snag halfway through filming the season. Their first anniversary comes up & they want to be able to celebrate on the exact date seeing as they’re physically together. They don’t want to raise any suspicions by going out to a nice restaurant & they also want to be completely alone, so they decide to order a fancy meal through room service

They lucked out that their anniversary fell on a day that they weren’t filming & they didn’t have any meetings. So they both agreed to ditch their phones for the day & they lounge around Trixie’s hotel room all day

But a conflict arises with production as they’re enjoying their time together. No one is surprised that they can’t get a hold of Katya, but they are surprised that Trixie has gone MIA. There’s a knock on Trixie’s hotel suite door in the middle of their dinner & they know it’s not room service again. Katya retreats to the bedroom, closing the door behind him, while Trixie answers the door

He finds Brandon there with a ton of questions, but he’s so keyed up about the production issue that he doesn’t pick up on any of the holes in Trixie’s story about why he’s been incognito all day. Brandon does clock the meal for two, but Trixie plays it off that it’s a Grindr date & he just wanted an excuse for a nice meal. He manages to get rid of Brandon & resumes his night celebrating with Katya

They wrap up filming the series with nothing more than the usual suspicion on them. Shortly after they return, they decide to make their relationship public. He aint use to it, Ed is use to just taking a leak whenever he wants and wherever he wants too. But, there are times where he has to hold it, and today was one of those days.

Unbeknownst to him, he's gonna be holding it for far longer than he had imagined- poor man is STRUGGLING to keep it together, he doesn't want the others to know how urgent his need is, they can't magically make a spot for him to piss appear.

Ed is trying his best to keep his regular composure, which thankfully does give him sooome lean way to squirm, not enough to really help but, juuust enough to keep him from pissing himself right then and there.

Until, until it gets to be toooo much! And the group can see the expression change on his face.

"Uhh, Blackbeard, sir? Everything okay?" One of the crewmates cautiously ask.

And Ed's face scrunches up and starts to let out a strangled sob- which, freaks everybody out! Especially Stede and Izzy! They're both immediately at his sides, asking him to just breath, tell them what's wrong.

God Ed doesn't wanna say it, please don't make him say it, he's already crying, everyone is already staring at him!

It clicks to Stede what's wrong and gives a sympathetic look to the other man.

"Edward, we don't want you hurting yourself, love. It's alright, everyone gets in these scenarios at times," Stede muses, trying his best to soothe Ed, help him relax.

And god, it works quite well. As Ed just hides his face in his hands as he just, starts pissing himself. It feels SO good but, he is properly humiliated- he isn't even the lest bit drunk so, he can't blame it on that and he's certainly won't forget about this any time soon.

The rest of the crew sorta just, look in any other direction while Ed is wetting himself, pretending they aren't hearing him crying and Stede comforting him (and Izzy sorta just, sitting there, as that extra body) 😂

The scariest? Ohhh I guess it depends! Doc is pretty damn intimidating on his own. Jasper and Heldur are also pretty scary- Jasper just because he’s standoffish and also a Giant Werewolf Dude and Heldur because he’s fucking TALL, also standoffish, and could throw a truck if he wanted to. A lot of folks can be considered scary here HAHSHA

To answer your question tho, Oscar. For pure technical skill alone and what he’s capable of? Absolutely Oscar. He’s a sweet guy but he can kill someone 15 different ways with just his bare hands.

Least experience goes toooo… Wels and Heldur!!! When they were alive, their kingdom and planet hadn’t achieved space travel yet! But now being reanimated in the form of armor and casually being told going to space is super easy now was one hell of a whiplash. yea they are VERY new to this JAJDJS

There’s a lot of people I could nominate for being the worst at walking around the ship. Xisuma trips down the stairs a lot and Zed’s herd instinct makes him impulsively follow crowds and get super lost. Honestly Zed’s issue is kinda funny so he’s one of them- XB wouldn’t be great at it since he doesn’t go far from the water tank thing he spends a lot of time in (tfw you have gills) so he’d get lost super easy.

Keralis asks a whole lot of questions! Mainly because the ship’s systems and whatnot aren’t at ALL like his home hive. He just wants to make sure he knows what everything does. Also it’s important he knows that if he’s gonna be the ship’s architect and whatnot JAJSJA- Also Wels asks a lot of questions but just cause he has no fucking clue what anything is. When grumbot went online for the first time and spoke over the intercoms I think he nearly leapt out of his armor

Breaking something? Hm that’s hard I’ll have to think o- Grian. It’s Grian. Grian OR Gavin. They are the worst. Dynamic duo of touching things that they aren’t supposed to.

Oh they have a lot of favorites!! Lush is loved by a lot of people cause it’s just so nice there! Super pleasant, always a nice temperature, trade markets are super accessible and friendly, and there’s giant plants!!! Also they’re quite fond of their Hermitterra planets since they’re the ones that made them all habitable and nice! Besides the lunar incident. No one likes talking about the lunar incident.

Well, they found Mumbo on a trash planet and Gem was in a crystal spire! As for actual discoveries I sadly haven’t thought that far. Actually- if I implement the Rift somehow, that’ll be one!!

Since I’ve been so obsessed with this release recently, I thought it’d be fun to post a ranking for its tracklist the same as I did to hype up for its release.

Just as I did in my SKZ discography ranking, I’ll be commenting here and there on why I like certain songs, but I’ll try to keep it to a minimum as I’ll be talking about this album more soon. Also, just like last time, I will not be including the intro track in the final ranks.

Kasin’s final GO生 Tracklist Rankings: 

1.“神메뉴 (God’s Menu)”

This track is everything I didn’t know I needed from Stray Kids - from the kpop industry across the board. Most comebacks and debuts this season have felt pretty bland to me. None of them have really been bad, but none have been good either, you know, T? It’s like all of them just knew they needed to be eye catching, but then became nothing more than that. No real effort was put in on the producing side. Songs like NCT’s “Punch” or “Ridin’” feel like they were produced on an assembly line in the company. A cheap way to get max profit with minimal effort.

“God’s Menu” doesn’t feel like that. It’s not recycled. It wasn’t written on an assembly line or according to a formula. I’d bet money that that is because Stray Kids produces for themselves.

“God’s Menu” is shocking. It’s unique. It’s out there. It’s short and sweet for a title track but somehow it feels like it goes on forever. I never listen to it and go “Oh it’s over already”. I listen and find myself somehow feeling like the 2:47 song was actually 5:00. Somehow 3Racha wrote a song that, while being short, makes the listener think it’s longer. It sucks you in and makes you feel like it goes on forever. I mean, it literally only has two verses - two! So why do I feel like it has so many more?

Well, I’ve thought about it and I think it’s how they split up the parts. Verse one is done completely by Han. It also has consistent sound, changing only once halfway through. Verse two, however, is split up between Felix, Seungmin, I.N., Chan, and Hyunjin, and changes line to line, or part to part. This makes each line become its own verse, making the song seem longer. 

I don’t think it would’ve had the same effect if they hadn’t given Han all of verse one, or if they had split up each verse like they did verse two, or even if they had split up the first verse instead of the second. Giving an entire verse to one member right off the bat and then giving that verse a consistent sound, gives the listener’s brain the impression that that is how the rest of the song is going to go. Each verse will be sung by one member and have it’s own sound. So when that changed in verse two, and it gets split between five members and has four different sounds (I.N and Seungmin share a part), the single verse ends up sounding like 4 individual verses back to back.

I don’t want to get too sappy or anything, but the song truly feels like it’s its own little world.

There also isn’t a single break in the track. With many comebacks there will be lulls in the title track, normally two thirds of the way through. This is where raps are shoved into vocal songs for line distribution, or vice versa. It often ends up feeling forced, like the producers were trying to fit a square piece into a circle hole. 

My point is, this song is a masterpiece. Every line fits. The beat is gorgeous.

 2. “Easy”

This is the best song for them to follow up “God’s Menu” with. It has that same braggy style as “God’s Menu”. It’s like a brother to the title track. You can hear the smirk on their face in their voices as they sing - especially in the post chorus with Lee Know and Han. I.N’s voice also pleasantly surprised me this comeback. He has always had a gorgeous voice, but I’ve always been able to tell it's higher in pitch than the others. He sounds younger when he sings and it feels out of place in some of their previous releases. I think Young K said it best in Stray Kids when talking about how I.N’s stage presence disrupted the serious air the crew had with his cute-ness. Listening to “God’s Menu” there were many times I caught myself saying “wait… That’s Innie?”. “Easy” cemented his new vocals. Confirmed that, “yes, that’s I.N you heard,”. 

I think “Easy” could have easily been the title track for this comeback if “God’s Menu” wasn’t a part of the tracklist. It’s still powerful and, while I haven’t looked at the line distribution officially, it doesn’t sound so terrible. Seungmin and Chan probably got the most, being the main vocalists (err, official main vocalist and the honorary one…). It doesn’t seem like Changbin got too much time (his only parts are in verse 3) which is probably a reason they nixed it as the title track, if it was ever in the running. It’s probably doesn’t look too good if you don’t give your main rapper significant time in a title track (*cough* NCT 127 - yes I’m still bitter about Taeyong, shut up.).

3. “비행기 (Airplane)”

It’s so pretty and lighthearted at the same time. When I think of it, it’s with the same fond smile that I wear when I think of ballads, but then I listen to it and remember that it’s light and boppy. 

What I like most is that everyone’s vocals get to shine. Everyone in Stray Kids can sing. All of them. It was so nice to be able to listen to all of their beautiful voices.

Chan’s vocals at the beginning are everything I never knew I needed - jesus. Felix’s “Ay, ay, 기다려봐 / 잠깐만 진정해봐 / Ay, ay, 있잖아 나 / 네가 난 너무 좋아”, and Chan’s strong soulful vocal response with “처음부터 넌 / 내 심장을 흔들고 나를 미치게 해”. Lee Know, with his focus being dance, is never the first person I think of when I think of Stray Kid’s vocalists. Seugnmin, I.N, Bang Chan, and Han come to mind, but how dare I forget our main dancer. He may not have many parts in “God’s Menu”, but listening to the rest of the album I find myself not really minding it because he has a lot of vocal parts in the rest of the songs to compensate. 

I already mentioned how I feel like I.N’s voice has matured a lot, but now it’s time to talk about Seungmin. I wonder if he’s been training more since being appointed as the main vocal? I love his sound this song, especially during his alternating parts later in the song with I.N, namely “난 너의 피터 팬 나의 손 놓지 마 babe”.

4. “청사진  (Blueprint)”

So. Pretty. I’ll talk a little more about it in my GO生 review, but I don’t have terribly much to say. I just love it.

5. “일상 (Daily Life/Another Day)”

I’ll just save all my thoughts for the main review because I have a lot of them, thank you very much (this is already toooo long~).

6. “Pacemaker”

This almost made 3rd, and there really isn’t a concrete reason why it didn’t besides personal preference. It’s an amazing song, hard-hitting, and sounds like SKZ. That’s actually why I put it after songs like “Airplane” and “Another Day” - because those songs sound different from anything I’ve ever heard from SKZ, and they pleasantly surprised me.

That’s not to say “Pacemaker” is mundane, or sounds just like their previous tracks - it doesn’t. Nothing on this album sounds recycled. None of it sounds like they were uninspired while producing it. “Pacemaker” is a song that stays true to Stray Kid’s hard hip-hop sound, and they spared no expense because of that. There wasn’t less effort put into it because it was another hard track - it demands just as much attention as any other song on this album.

7. “SLUMP”

When “TOP” and “SLUMP” were first released I never really listened to SLUMP. For some reason it slipped my mind that the two were released as a pair, and all I paid attention to was TOP. Maybe it’s because, and forgive me for my sins, I thought “TOP” was “meh” upon release so I didn’t bother listening to “SLUMP”. Or maybe it’s just because “TOP” got most of the hype and I truly forgot about it’s brother track.

Months later, GO生’s release was upon us and I found myself repenting at the altar. How could I have ignored the blessing that is the Tower of God ED all those months ago? 

It only has a duration of 2:14, and I’ve seen a lot of STAYs cracking jokes about how the short length is the only bad thing about it. I disagree. I like it the way it is. Something about it being short and sweet makes it better in my opinion.

8. “타 (TA)”

This song feels like old SKZ. I’m not exactly sure why, but it does. This could have been released right after District 9. However, what separates it from their earlier releases is that it sounds more polished. It sounds like an evolved version of their debut sound.

I do like that, with SKZ being self-producing, you can hear their music getting better. Not that it was ever bad, but there is something a little “more” to their more recent songs. You can tell they’ve gained experience. Recently starting around the astronaut era, you can tell they’ve been getting more comfortable with playing around with their sound more, and I like that a lot.

9. “바보라도 알아 (Mixtape : On Track)”

ONE MORE STEP, I WILL NEVER STOP-

Okay, I admit: I did not like this song when it came out. Like… kind of at all. But then I listened to it again. And then one more time. And then I looked at the lyrics. And then I watched the music video a few more times for good measure.

When I talk about vocals shining I- this. This is what I mean. The chorus, the verses, the everything.

Also, it brings this album’s love song counter up to 4~. 

10. “Phobia”

I was hoping to like this song more than I do, but I just don’t. It’s a good song, just not my favorite of the bunch. I had it as 8th, actually, for that reason, but I realised it just didn’t sit right with me. I was ranking it for what I wanted it to be, not what I felt it was.

It’s a solid song, don’t get me wrong. I just favour the above more.

11. “Mixtape : Gone Days”

I’m still not able to make up my mind about this one. It reminds me of the saturated hip-hop sound “Get Cool” and “Awkward Silence” enlist, but somehow it goes farther than either of its predecessors did. 

12. “TOP”

If anyone was wondering how close these rankings are, TOP was almost 4th.

Yeah.

I wasn’t sure quite what to think of TOP when it came out. The scythe-y electronic sounds caught me a little off guard. Like “Mixtape : On Track” the more I listened, the more I liked it.

13. “Haven”

I had high hopes for this song, what with its, at least unofficial, namesake being an alternate name for STAY. Meaning-wise it didn’t fall short. It was a song from Stray Kids to their STAY. Telling them this, the music, is STAY’s safe space. It was a message of encouragement and inspiration. 

It was a fun song, truly, just not my favorite. However, it still holds a place in my heart for it’s meaning.

OPM GenoSai Drag Queen AU update

so I got a lotta notes on my last post about the AU, so thank you to everyone! I’m glad ppl are interested in the idea :) SO here’s a random list of shit I want in my AU, tho I won’t list off everything bc I don’t wanna spoil too much (if I ever do get around to writing it lmaooo)

so there’s Bad X Garou in this, RIP Mumarou shippers but I like this ship a lot better 

There’s also Mumen X Sonic, and I KNOW they’ve never met b4 obviously but hey let me dream, I adore this ship

obviously there’s SaiGenos, and I personally headcanon Saitama as demi and Genos as gay if anyone is curious

There’s Mizuki x Fubuki bc I adore the idea and I wish they were a more widespread ship RIP

Sonic is a drag queen bc he’s fab and his drag name is “Sonya O’ Sound,” bc of course he’d still keep the O’  Sound. He’s not an assassin in this, but he still does some questionable stuff on the side, and I want this AU to be just a little less monstrous as canon, so Sonic still has his GOTTA GO FAST POWERS 

Saitama, Mumen and King all work at a lowkey run down candy shop, Mumen still likes to help around the neighborhood bc he'll always be like that, but in this he has more of a passion for providing for ppl with candy and stuff :) King works there bc it’s just easy on him, and he spends most of his money on dating sims, so his apartment is smaller than Saitama’s, but he basically lives with Saitama half the time anyway. As for Sai, he wanted to become the BESt taffy puller ever, so he trained like fucking crazy, and, I bet you can guess this, but he lost his hair when he gained his one punch/taffy puller strength, which is SOOO original but let me live. He still suffers from depression and stuff, but working with friends all the time surely helps, and so does Genos when he meets him at the drag bar, uwu. 

I don’t wanna spoil toooo much about Genos’ position, but he just recently joined the bar, him and Sonic obviously hate each other, his drag name is Genny *insert last name here, which I will when I figure out something clever and cute*, and to Sonic’s dismay Genos is hella popular as a performer. & of course Genos was pretty bad at performing, and still can’t do big grand stuff yet, but he makes up for it with his own atmosphere and determination (also his makeup is always on point smh we stan). and yes, he is still a cyborg, and he has his incinerators and a few other weapons like in canon bc Kuseno wants to keep him safe, tho he’s less bulky than in canon. He’s also not too confident on stage like Lady Gaga in that scene I was inspired from (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u93gJXcSyEs), but like I said hella talented (still has trouble not looking constantly angry sometimes, lol). I won’t say too much about him other than that.

Won’t say too much about Fubuki, other than she’s close with Saitama and the rest of the candy crew (heh), the blizzard group helps out behind the stage with her, she runs the drag bar and hopes that through her efforts she can someday measure up to Tatsumaki’s famous night club a town away, and she works almost as hard to express her emotions to people, especially Mizuki. 

Idk about Garou and Badd’s involvement yet, I can’t see either of them being queens, but I’ll figure it out. Oh and Genos, Garou and Badd are all friends bc I love rayadraws’ Shitty Teen Squad.

So yeah, that’s the gyst of my AU, tho I’m a really bad writer, and my last AU still haunts me with how OOC it could be. I still feel very attached to this AU tho, and I’m hoping I’ll be able to write this one out. I also need an AO3 account, cuz Wattpad is ass lmao. So yeah. OH AND GO CHECK OUT A STAR IS BORN, IT”S SO GOOD but might make you cry so be warned.

I know this can be idealistic but i don’t wanna get toooo silly with it so i’ll say what i genuinely hope the book entails (keep in mind I haven’t read alliances yet but i know some of what goes down)

a) Eli stays alive. I don’t think zahn will kill him as he seems to avoid that kind of thing (overly tragic stuff i mean-and i could be off with this but he said in an interview he prefers the intrigue to come from “how will the characters figure out this puzzle” over “will they be able to survive!?” ) anyways yeah i’m hoping i won’t have to eat my words but uhhhh Please eli. Be safe.

b) Thrawn does not betray the empire outright for his people, making palpatine turn against him. Since thrawn may have to pick sides here i dont think he would abandon the empire OR his people (he would probably use eli as an extension of himself  in helping his own people and not take a direct approach) as i feel like it would be….idk almost uncharacteristic of him? Like thrawn loves his people but in order to help them i believe he genuinely signed his own loyalty away and was 100% serious about the emperor commanding his loyalty above all others.

b.a) Subpoint to this, i dont want this book to make thrawn any more sympathetic, which i feel like him choosing his people over his duty would make him. Thrawn is a character with his own motivations sure, but I dont view him as sympathetic or even fully justified. He is justified to Himself, sure, (which makes him so interesting)  but he does whatever he must do to achieve his ends including doing things that make him, well….. a villain….

c) i honestly dont know what else i want from this book!! I don’t know what hes gonna write and tbh im NERVOUS LOL SINCE I …..AM INVESTED IN THESE CHARACTERS,,…..

I guess thrawn interacting with/reacting to the ghost crew more would be cool….eli knowing about the ghost crew would be cool too

BASICALLY UHHHHH i love characters interacting that havent before so anything like that would be fun

That being said, I trust Zahn with this story and his characters so I hope I like it! If not well, its not the end of the world (shrugging emoji but the emoji is visibly sweating)

mamma mia! (2008) - part 1

mamma mia! is a musical starring meryl streep and amanda seyfried (post-mean girls but pre-les mis), in which seyfried’s character sophie discovers she has three potential dads and invites all three of them to her wedding on an idyllic greek island. got all that? and the best and DEFINITELY most important aspect? it’s allllll ABBA songs baby. talk about culture clash (1970s sweden vs 2008 greece? actually we’ll come to the 2008 part later). it’s cheesy and raucous and loud and sweet and an utter riot of joy, and the only musical my best friend actually doesn’t hate. and his excuse for hating musicals is that they’re cheesy so i think someone needs to work on their argument.

hi everyone! so love island has finished, i’ve just got back from holiday to torrential rain – thanks england – and meryl streep owns my ass, so before i go and see mamma mia! here we go again a gazillion more times (and meet the director AGHHHHH yes that’s actually happening) i’m gonna review the first one! bear in mind that i’ve seen this film literally 100 million times please. i can’t actually stress how much i adore this film and it’s my comfort film that i watch when I’m sad or ill or tired or bored in history. i’ll pick holes in the technical aspects of it but just know that i would die for this film. got it? lets go.

visually, it’s a pretty film. nothing toooo wild or groundbreaking (like florals for spring) but it’s saturated and dusty and bright and 100% suits the tone and setting of the film. it also has a softness and realness to it that i feel we don’t get anymore from hollywood in 2018 – if a film isn’t crisp and chockablock with cgi and visual effects, then it’s not making bank, and that includes you, new mamma mia. from a glance at this film, you know it’s set in the mediterranean. also the faded and bright quality of the film evoke some of the 70s imagery, not only of ABBA but of donna’s (meryl streep) past.

the costumes are also gorgeous and so camp and bright and cheesy! mamma mia! knows what film it is and keeps itself campy and cheesy without skimping on quality, and this is especially prevalent in the disco costumes, particularly super trouper and the end credits (which are oscar worthy in themselves lets be honest)

so I know it was originally a west end musical and having source material makes screenwriting easier, but i love the way the songs are worked in. nothing feels forced and once again, the crew didn’t have to compromise on quality by changing most of the words, which is a relief to the avid ABBA fan. and yes, this is a complaint i’ll revisit in my mamma mia! here we go again review.

why does sophie go post her letters on the mainland at midnight? did she sneak out? didn’t donna or sky question this?

also this will come up again a bit later but why do they have to shoot night scenes during the day and then try to colour correct? It’s just PAINFUL. can’t y’all shoot at night? jesus. also this is my theory as to why they cut the name of the game later in the film with bill and sophie – because it looked like shite!!!

the guy who hits on tanya does have a name and it is pepper. i was initially wondering why it wasn’t mentioned in the film but now i guess i know why. also it is shouted at him at some point in the second act but i guess i just thought they were….. hurling abuse?? idk

the level of innuendo in this film that completely went over my head as an 8-year-old is unreal
