Okay uhh I wasn’t gonna post this cause it’s really poorly written but someone said I should so throws this at you. Feast my scarabs.

This is actually part of a whole AU I have where Kagerou dies but is later revived due to the events of episode 48. I’ll elaborate more about this au if yall like but it’s pretty stupid hehdjf anyways . Enjoy!

The blue patrol car felt a foot nudge against his own, promptly startling him out of his daze. He whipped his head around and was met with Duke’s very pointed gaze.

It took a second before Deckerd realized what the look was for. Once realizing that he had been caught, his felt his face flush red hot and he quickly looked down at his paperwork in embarrassment.

The day was very quiet and calm, everyone was working diligently, Power Joe and Drillboy were out on patrol and Yuuta was at a school event. There hadn’t been much crime as of late, so the Braves were able to relax and get a little work done that had been neglected for more important cases.

Most of them, at least.

Deckerd quietly glanced back up at the object of his attention and the reason he had been so distracted as of late.

Kagerou sat beside Shadowmaru, eyes down to the papers in front of him. He seemed oblivious to the golden eyes that lingered on him, too engrossed in whatever project Toudou-san had whipped up for him to keep the older model busy.

The winged mech was still barred from police work despite how long he’s been back online but Kagerou didn’t seem to mind it.

Quite the opposite, actually, he seemed to enjoy the freedom of exploring and observing the world around him without the crushing weight of responsibility on his shoulders.

Deckerd sighed softly through his vents and forced his eyes back down on the barely-touched papers littering his desk. He simply didn’t know what was wrong with him. At first he believed he must be malfunctioning, but after numerous scans and reports coming back normal he realized he was perfectly fine mechanically—the problem lay within his human heart.

Every time he found himself in proximity to the standoffish mech, his A.I. sparked in ways he couldn’t explain. He felt like he was on fire, completely entranced by Kagerou.

It did not help that their interactions were short, Kagerou was still a weary thing, but it made the desire in his core ache for something, anything.

There was more to Kagerou then the winged mech let on and Deckerd wanted to pick him apart and memorize every piece of him. He wanted to open him up to hold his heart so that he could cradle it against his own.

Deckerd groaned to himself. This was humiliating. It was embarrassing. And he was so obvious.

If he could just hide the mushy emotions that crept up his spine and threatened to spill out, he would. But, alas, with his heart given to him by the young and vibrant Yuuta, always so full of love, he simply was not adept at hiding away the affection he felt for the taller mech.

It also didn’t help that his team, so observant and nosey, were beginning to take notice of their senior officer’s change in behavior.

Gunmax always let out an obnoxious laugh every time the Deckerd was caught making doe eyes at the ninja, and Duke even pulled him aside to remind him not to let his “little crush” get in the way of his work.

His face boiled at the humiliating memory.

Movement in his peripherie caused him to snap out of his thoughts and instinctively track the motion.

Kagerou’s wings fluttered slightly before tucking back into their original position. The long appendages were rather expressive, Deckerd mused, which allowed him to read the mech better. As the wings repeated the fluttering motion, Deckerd followed the movement and allowed himself the quiet pleasure of tracing his optics down the wing and to his back. Kagerou’s plating always looked smooth to the touch, almost soft. Deckerd’sfinger twitched as he thought about how the warm metal would feel pressed into his palm.

Deckerd never understood the hushed comments about how Kagerou was frightening. Honestly, the blue mech found him beautiful. He could watch him for hours and not get bored. He would be happy to just sit and commit the lithe frame to his memory and—

Two green optics bore into gold ones.

Just behind the other ninja was Shadowmaru, who was looking right. At. Deckard.

Deckerd’s processor fritzed. Shadowmaru’s gaze was hard and pointed and felt like he was trying to crush the patrol car by his stare alone.

Deckerd’s face went red hot with embarrassment. He snapped his head back down to his paperwork so fast it caused Duke to look up from his computer with mild confusion.

He could feel Shadowmaru’s eyes still on him, probably thinking of ways to dissect the police car with frightening precision.

He heard Gunmax snort out a laugh. Dumpson started making obnoxious kissing noises which caused McCrane to smack him on the back of the head.

Deckerd wondered if he curled in on himself enough he could just disappear.

Sighhh thinking about the ii finale again and how cobs-- for supposedly YEARS had been trying to take mephone down from behind the scenes. And once he succeeded and had Mephone at his lowest, Mephone still fought back against him and ruined his chances for infinite power.

I've seen a few people complain that they think Mephone didn't fight back enough against Cobs. And while I think this is a horrible sentiment in general, no one should need to 'fight back' against abuse? (It shouldn't be happening in the FIRST place!) I also think it's just really untrue. Mephone did fight back, through petty comments and his never-ending stubbornness. Just not physically.

This isn't new for Mephone. He's actually shown to be surprisingly adverse to violence. He shames Nickel for using his pick-nix tables to play a prank, he shies away from touch in general, and unlike most other hosts when he's insulted he never really responds with violence. Just petty insults. Of course, there are a few instances of mephone using force-- but iirc most of those are comedy relief (him punching fan away LMFAO). Other than that, he's a pretty hands-off guy.

So, we have Mephone: Generally not violent, really petty, kind of an asshole, and has a huge amount of trauma surrounding his creator. And you expect him to physically attack said creator? Really? I mean, even ignoring the possibility that he was programmed to not be able to physically harm Cobs, he's just not the kind of person to retaliate with violence. Especially not if it's been used against him before as punishment. I also think the reality of the situation at that point is that Mephone is confident he's going to die, and theres no use in fighting back. He even part way through getting beat to death says "I deserve this" And even though it's cut off by comedy relief talking hand that line really says a lot, and I think it ties back to the self-deprecating behavior he has.

Mephone has so many reasons to not fight back physically, but he doesn't have any reason to not get as many stupid quips in as possible. He's provoking the person he knows is going to kill him! He's fighting back! He's just not doing it physically!!!!! He's getting Cobs' goat. He's pissing him the fuck off. And that's amazing for him. But also It really hurt me and I've never recovered I think oh my GOD the finale crushed me good lord. Okay, that's all I got for now!!!!! -2G Anon

Webster's wife cancelled the funeral because she found out her husband was cheating on her, and in chapter 9 Connie and Armin mentioned they thought something was odd about the funeral, and later Rodd reiss was telling Mikasa he had come to the Edens party from that funeral, which we now know wasn't true, and at the end of chapter 10 Pieck also mentioned that she went to check out the funeral and there wasnt one! (I rlly hope that made sense)😭
