I'm Doing My Life, She, Hers (Hopefully) & Other

My old trusty lamp burner...

This is about someone from my past. I have already let go of her years ago, but sometimes a memory pops up and I'm reminded of her. I won't ever say anymore harsh words towards her because that's the past. I've grown as a person, and my religious beliefs have also grown. Being under the influence of Odú Odi Ogbe, it states that discord and betrayal of lovers and friends is a constant under this influence, and it is important to be cautious and transparent in relationships.

There's a bitterness and a problem with digestion under Odi Ogbe which I do have, so I follow what the Odú recommends. A large part of Ifá centers around being an honorable person who avoids conflict with honesty, but does not direct the honesty in a cruel way. Ifá's concept of Iwa Pele (good or gentle character) is the most important of our precepts. Its not just "being nice." Iwa Pele is cultivated through practice and patience.

The person from my past is very well-known. We were friends and enemies, but now I hope we are just even. I don't encroach into Demonolatry, ever, anymore. I do not like the presence of demons. I cleanse myself and home if I ever feel anything wonky. My psychic skills warn me usually before anything serious ensues, like a curse thrown my way.

Since giving up black magic, I feel SO much better! Lighter, happier, and more balanced. A person like me shouldn't have been wielding demons or black magic. Its not just a mental imbalance. It was a ME-imbalance. Demons didn't fit ME. Neither did black magic.

My old friend would possibly laugh at my ways now. But I'm very happy with the African paths. They have a foundation and Ifá has 8,000 years of time tested wisdom for our life, and the Odú is the blueprint, the Holy Scripture for our lives.

Sorry, but thousands of years trumps a few hundred generational Demonolators. And it is NOT primitive a single bit! Just because fewer ppl practice Demonolatry, doesn't give it ANY power. I tested that. 😊 There's many more Demonolators now and I wouldn't be able to handle it. I found the demons in the late nineties and was initiated into a sect in 2001. By 2008, it was hell on the internet. I couldn't stand my friend or the new gen of Demonolators. Further years on, I was very sporadic because I was introduced to Palo Mayombe, then Ifá. The demons peppered my life until about 2020-2021 - then I left for good.

But, ayooo! I rarely use magic anymore. Do not need to, but will for clients. I just go to the Orisa. An addimú takes care of what I need. And a thank you ebó for the Orisa who helps. It is magic, but it is different - you won't understand unless you perform an addimú. Orisas are not like demons - they don't fetch or get what you want in a negative fashion, like maybe someone losing something in your favor.

Orisas move your life and events in a easy to bear manner. And its not negative, but can be life changing because that's how they work. They see your request and move your life towards it. They will be slow at times because they know that the change or item you want will be big, or part of a larger plan. In other words, they let you adjust. Demons tend not to be predictable. They can be rash and intolerant. And they want that sacrifice! That human blood. Think its not a big deal?

African religions use animal sacrifice. It has been used for thousands of years. I do not believe in it, though since I'm female, I cannot perform it anyway. Animal sacrifice is for ebó, or initiations, sickness and cleansings, feeding items like divinatory tools and religious items. Now, think the demons ARE NOT hungry for blood?? Oh, yes they are! Where does the power come from? The demonic enns? Ha! No. Blood, honey. Anticipation for it. Hunger.

Sure, they'll give you power and what you want to placate you until the next offerIng. Sorry. Just remembering. The teacher tells you that the blood is "just an equivalent exchange and it honors them" but it is also giving that demon a piece of you to keep and remember for ALL time, so they can come back to you when you "need" them - and perhaps strike a deal. Just think of this when your chips are down.

I'm so glad my old Tata helped me find the Orisas. Antonio was also a Santero. I worked with Orisas first, but he found that Palo was my home. It still is, but I need an appropriate teacher, who I think I found. I have his number, but I'm just not into paying a lot of money. His rayamiento ceremony (scratching) is doable, but, eh...its $1,800 plus tickets to Florida, from Oregon. I never have nearly that amount of money. I live on a fixed income, as does my husband. Saving up just doesn't happen. Oh, think I'm rejecting Ifá? No. Ifá respects Palo just fine. African traditions stick together. I could be an Iyanifa (mother of secrets) and be scratched in Palo, no big deal. I don't want a nganga/cauldron. I'm happy with vessels like bottles or little clay pots for honoring certain saints...like my Santa Muerte Magic Pot. Here:

Great news! Since I've been learning Spanish, my memory is getting better! Retrograde memory - the past! YUSSSS! I don't suck! Maybe shock therapy didn't ruin me after all. Woot! Spanish is fuggin' great. Love the language! Its beautiful. I'm even picking up a bit of Portuguese (Brazil). A lot of my pins on Pinterest are in Spanish. Reading it well but need help speaking.

Going off the deep end. Forgive the strange patterns of my posts. I'm stoned and tired now.

Rounding out the year with old man yaoi had not been on my bingo card, but here we are.

I realized I never got around to draw adult bunny from Post Covid and I totally regret that cos they're so fun to draw! Also, drawing Kenny as a chubby man is so cathartic, my boy deserves the pounds!!! (and good anatomy practice to boot)
