Do you remember your mother’s face?

Marbles stares into the distance, trying to recall everything she can from when she was very, very young. The blue slugcat nods, her eyes betray a hint of sadness.

"I do... I see her in my mind. It's more of a feeling rather than an image. I think of all the fun adventures outside the shelter we lived in, and mom is always there, watching over. My brother is there too. I am small, and I am safe..."

Marbles' ears perk up.

"Oh, that's funny, I also remember something else... how bored I was in the shelter during the rain. There was little to do once we all scurred inside. I would play with my sibling, or draw in the dirt, or inspect little trinkets I gathered outside. I remember mom going to sleep almost immediately, out like a light. She slept a lot. Because of that, me and my brother couldn't frolic and make too much noise."

She scratches her cheek, her eyes still unfocused, staring at something far away.

"Huh... mom must have been exhausted. Funny how it makes sense now."

Personality

By his peers, Diaval is often considered a reserved and mysterious person, especially because of the circumstance of being one of the closest people to the Housewarden of Diasomnia. Despite this reputation, Diaval proves himself to be a caring individual and a good person to talk to, should the subject interest him.

In his own way, he has a habit of guiding people when necessary and, lately, he has been gaining a better reputation and maintaining a good relationship with his classmates. However, despite maintaining a calm and helpful demeanor towards others, Diaval can be quite proud if mocked or challenged, as well as having confidence in his own abilities.

Diaval is a good strategist, preferring to analyze a situation behind the scenes first before taking action. With this in mind, it's not too surprising that he often prefers to analyze the people around him before deciding whether or not an interaction would be beneficial for him, as well as he can also be considered a great resource to find 🫣gossip🫣 about NRC.

He can be quite vengeful, as well as quick to return a just favor. Very remorseful with people he doesn't like or who have done him wrong, but also do everything for those he holds dear. In fact, despite appearing to be logical most of the time, Diaval can be really emotional, especially with people he loves or when he feels vulnerable…

and REALLY restless when something he does goes wrong

Overall, Diaval is observant, introvert and sometimes reserved. However, he also has an ease in communicating with the people around him and is being seen interacting much more with his colleagues lately. Diaval also has difficulty talking about things that affect him, but he can show himself to be a good person to talk to and a great friend, even assuming a responsible attitude for those who need.

And he's also a big worrier for his friends.

sparkle is like. one of my oldest ap ocs but i have NEVER POSTED THEM EVER!?!!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!! at least i think so?? ive been thinking about them aolt reecntly so they've had a few minor tweaks here and there as i actually flesh them out, mainly the fact that they use a wheelchair now (if you've seen older pics on toyhouse and that was confusing)

Since Ichigo dies at about 15, and Hatake get their marks at like 14? what do her clan markings look like? 👀

OHHH OK THIS IS ACTUALLY A WHOLE THING, SO,

Ichigo got moon stripes !! It's also known as the story teller stripes, and is the traditional tattoos of the Hatake clan's religious leader and story keeper. Which Ichigo does end up in training to become!

There's actually a bit of drama with the fact that Yuki, the current clan shaman, is so old (she's in her 70's, which is basically like being in her 120's for a shinobi), and she's only now picking an apprentice in Ichigo.

Yuki did actually have an apprentice before, who was fully trained and set up to take up the position whenever Yuki died— but they were one of the 5 Hatake to die to illness the winter before the Hatake were summoned to iron court (which is the event that got the ball rolling on the Hatake joining Konoha a year or two later)

Yuki settled on Ichigo being her next apprentice relatively quickly after that, but wouldn't actually tell anyone about it for some more years— stubbornly staying quiet on the topic even when pressed with increasingly stressed and worried questions about it. Ichigo was only about 8 at the time, but Yuki set to training her just a little bit under the table

It was easy enough, when Ichigo was always happy to listen to her stories and gossip about past and present events. Ichigo kind of ended up soaking in a lot of things she'd be expected to learn in the role (religious rights / mythos of spirits and gods / traditions and why they do them / stories passed down through the family / etc.) naturally throughout the years.

Finally, Ichigo turned 14 and lead her first hunt— the marker of a Hatake coming of age. Afterwards, it was Yuki's job to give her the stripes Yuki deemed to 'fit her best,' which is ofc when she gave her the moon stripes and officially announced her plans with a "teehee congrats <3"

It wasn't actually too much of a surprise to those who'd been paying attention to what had been going on, but still caught some off guard. Ichigo had been "training" for like, 6 whole years at that point, without even realizing it. So she was honestly pretty well into her education on the roll, and would probably only need a few more years afterwards to be deemed officially ready to take it on

But then ofc, she dies a year later. And Yuki dies in very quick succession. (Losing her third apprentice, and so old already, had done terrible things to her heart and spirit) And with both of them went a very large portion of the clans history.

Others in the clan, of course, still knew plenty. Yuki's teachings had not been for Ichigo alone, and many had sat by her side and listened to her stories as well. But no single person knew as much as they had or had been in the same position of authority to do things like honoring the spirits of their ancestors or assigning Hatake stripes to their young.

In their deaths, Haruka had to take up many of their duties, mostly by default via being the highest other figure of respect in that regard. But they lost a lot.

There's some sort of interesting point to be made that the Hatake's religious leader wears tattoos that symbolize a red moon. And that Kaguya-hime is among the gods they pay respects to.

I don't really have any real thoughts on it other than going "hmm." and writing that down to reference later, but like !! That's something

Can you tell us more about Landlot(Sparkplug's ex boyfriend)please?

Oh gosh I'm gonna go on a huge tangent about this guy, mostly because I feel like it.

So Landlot is the newest version of a character that belonged to my own ex boyfriend. However I was the one to properly flesh out his character, the most my ex did was give him a color pallet and basic personality.

For context, One Spark first started as a fanfiction called "End of the rode" made by my ex. It was a post apocalyptic transformers au where the Optimus and Megatron are dead, the autobots are trying to make another arc to get to Cybertron and the decepticons are now led by Starscream. The story only really got a proper threw line when I suggested adding a character I had thought up, Sal Witwicky, the orphaned daughter of Spike Witwicky. Sal's deal was that she resented transformers because they not only destroyed her world, but let her family die, now she's one of few surviving humans. She gets found by Hound and reluctantly agrees to go back with him to the autoboot base.

At one point, Sal was supposed to be horribly injured by Ravage (who was only there because I really liked Soundwave, and his addition helped fill in plot gaps), to the point she was about to die. However they put her in a experimental protoform body... she would now be known... as Sparkplug. (I also came up with this plotline)

Why am I going on about this? Well because it's important to why Land lot exists on my current story. Landlot in the old fanfiction was a twin and was one of the first transformers built on earth, post Sparkplug getting put into robot body. He was supposed to be the leader of his group, as he was kind of a hotrod wanna be. He was also vary clearly a self projection character for my ex, similar to how I tend to project onto Sparkplug. I had offered the idea for Sparkplug and Landlot to be a couple, I can't remember if my ex was on board for the idea or not, however I do remember it being the only thing close to romance in the whole story.

So here we are a good maybe 6 years later. I had a lot of trauma from that relationship to the point I still dream about him, and the moment I realize it's him in my dream, I try and get away from him, not wanting to be with him at all. I won't say I was a saint during that relationship, but I do resent him for being able to find some sense of peace with intimacy. A lot of shit happened... So when I decided to remake the Transformers AU, I was mean to Landlot.

So who is Landlot in the One Spark AU?

Well he's a 1970's Plymoth GX, who emerged with his twin sister, Defender. They emerged pretty soon after the matrix awakened the energon on earth. They emerged vary close to the autobot base and were taken in and trained like any normal sparkling would be trained back on Cybertron. He fit in vary well as he remined a lot of the autobots of the older days, just a bunch of guys who turned into cars acting like heroes and messing around. He would become a poster boy for the transformers born on Earth.

How did he end up dating Sparkplug? Well I'll tell yah. Despite a lot of my art showing people dotting over Sparkplug, that wasn't the case for a majority of the autobots, yes a good amount of them formed bonds with her, but it was only because they were related to prime. Bot's like Ironhide, sideswipe, Blur, Proceptor and a good amount of other autobot's being vary against Megatron and Soundwave being allowed to join, and some are still convinced that Sparkplug is just part of a secret plan of Megatron to try and take over earth again.

So a lot of bots stayed away from her, and this bias would trickle down to the new earth born bots on the base. So Sparkplug never had any friends her age, the closet being Rumble and Frenzy who were basically teenagers when she was born. However Sparkplug did grow up to be rather pretty... well... as pretty as you can be while being a weird combination of two bots. Even though she tried to talk to the other young bots, her awkwardness and bluntness only made them stay away from her. However Landlot slip in, seeing an opportunity to have a cute/shy girlfriend. Sparkplug fell hard and fast for him because she had never had anyone interested in her romantically. He would try and mold Sparkplug into a sweet, dotting and helpless shy girl that would hang on his arm to make him look cooler. Because how badass would it be to show that he was able to get the notorious Megatron's daughter to be his side chick.

Eventually, Sparkplug got tired of getting the short end of the stick and decided to break up with him after seeing that he was trying to get with other bots behind her back, bot's that vary clearly didn't like her.

So that's where they stand as of now. Landlot is still a celebrated leader for his heroics and fun personality, while Sparkplug just only got passed to go on missions and was put on the most mind numbing job imaginable.

imagine you're Maedhros, you're at least thousand years old, have survived (and took part in) several kinslayings, survived the Horrors™ and are trying to recruit a reclusive elven people to join your fight only to end up being violently humbled by said elven people's princess who happens the elven equivalent of a 13 year old at the time.

anyway i was thinking about the one time Narien meets Maedhros while he was still alive and how much of a menace she was about it (she absolutely had a crush on him but you'd have to pry that info from her cold dead hands). i did write a short story about their meeting but idk if it will ever see the light of day
