if it assuages anyone's conscience, i DO think there's a sexual element to dante/vergil's relationship, but i DON'T know if it's romantic. I DO think they're fucking but i DON'T think they're dating, you feel? On the spectrum of platonic -- romantic -- some terrible 3rd thing, i think they're deep into "terrible 3rd thing" territory. i think the sex is a way to express some of the stuff that they feel towards one another that they can't express any other way. it's the best way they have of accepting and reciprocating the jealousy, possessiveness, and hunger. so it's not so much an expression of "i want to love you so good" so much as it is "i own you (and that gives me the right to take care of you)"

you know, oldhat fandom warriors could stop being bitter towards anyone under 25 and just provide the definition and information about certain words and portmanteaus and stuff used in some (PREDOMINANTLY OLDER MEDIA) internet fan circles without being patronizing or reacting like you, personally, are being attacked over the equivalent of younger people making fun of low rise flared bedazzled jeans or outdated slang.
