In my Loonatics reboot after they defeat Deuce for good, Optimatus does redeem himself but isn't let off easy for his crimes.

For starters he is stripped of his title as king and banned from holding any political office. Second he's placed under semi-permanent house arrest. Third he has his powers dampened meaning while he'll still have them for self defense he can't use full extent. He's constantly surveyed by guards out of fear he could slip back into his old ways. Optimatus knows he deserves it so he doesn't argue his punishment. At least now he has a lot of time to think about his actions and figure out where to go from there. So he decides to mentor his daughter Mikayla. Teach her how to use her powers, the inner workings of Freleng Politics, and how to deal with doubtful council members. While he and her momma Norah make up the latter expresses no desire to rekindle their romance. So Optimatus keeps his distance.

Of course the Loonatics still hold reservations about Optimatus given he had tried to destroy their planet. But seeing his genuine remorse they don't give him a hard time. Just cautious around him.

Zadavia is elated to have her brother back but even she couldn't ignore the severity of his actions. She supports him, guiding him to see a world beyond conquering. That even if their people hate him, she doesn't, and that she'll always be there for him. Mikayla is wary of him at first but decides to help to, even talking with her father about Earth and her interests. It's a rough journey though as Mikayla still feels the sting of his abandonment.

Not a lot of Frelengians buy into his reformation which is understandable since he was a tyrant. Many curse his name, many want him to see him exiled or rotting in a cell. Some cry hypocrisy - Deuce was thrown in jail but Optimatus was not. The former king doesn't contest this, which drives him further to undo his destructive policies. But no one has cursed his name more than the ex general.

8. Any Phobias

Mikayla isn't afraid of a lot of things. However she is afraid of dark water as well as a slight wariness around alleyways.

19. What were their parents like

Her mom Nora was a college student studying to become a marine biologist. She found Kayla's dad Optimatus washed up on the beach during a trip. At the time she didn't know he was alien royalty and took him in. So much of their relationship was her helping him regain his memories (because she assumed he had amnesia seeing his confusion at earth customs) until it became very clear that he wasn't really from Earth. Mom was heartbroken when her boyfriend left mysteriously one night, so after Kayla was born she put her dreams on hold to take care of her baby. She wasn't particularly bitter, but resented her boyfriend for leaving without even a goodbye. So by the time she turned maybe 16, 17, her mom got a job working for Zadavia as the secretary/PR for Loonatics. Mom is well, protective and compassionate, with a deep respect and admiration for sea life even going with the Loonatics on missions that takes them underwater just to view the ocean.

Optimatus was a nice guy, honest! Probably swatted a few flies here and there but he genuinely was as peaceful as his sister. But he had seen war and conflict, in fact, it was a random encounter with a Martian fleet that led him to crash-landing onto Earth. After returning to Freleng he decided the best way to increase Freleng's defenses, giving way to a more militaristic control. But things got worse as his well intentions turned into outright superiority. I say after finding out his ex lover had a child he kinda softens up mainly intending to shape Kayla into his heir ignoring her actual needs and wants. He does get better about it of course so essentially AU!Optimatus has a lot more motivation for his actions AND more weight to his eventual redemption than in canon.

What will the powers of the Loonatics be in this version?

The powers are Pretty much the same as in the show. However, they didn’t get them from the meteorite but they think they did. The powers were brought to earth by Zadavia and are called Renraw Spectrum. Orbs of light each haveing a different color depending on the power it has.

For example, Ace got the yellow one that has the power of light which gives him his laser vision. The show was never clear about any other ability he had so I gave him night vision and enhanced eyesight.

Renraw Spectrum was created by Zadavia's people and given to the most elite warriors who served directly under the royal family. An incident with Optimatus caused the Renraw to be unleashed from its containment chamber, ending in the loonatics geting their powers from them. That whole story is in the prologue of Loonatics of Acmetroplois: Acme off it's axis part 1

Loonatics AUs galore

So I'm sure everyone has at least heard of Marvel's What If...? Series by now. It got me thinking about what some episodes for a Loonatics version could be. Here are some of the ones I came up with. Feel free to repost with some of your own and joining me to "ponder the question, What If...?"

What if... Optimatus failed his coup? (He gets captured and the tics all go on with their normal lives, but still all somehow meet each other)

What if... Optimatus fled to Earth instead of Zadavia? (Fails coup, but escapes to Earth. Turns into almost a parody of the Power Rangers with him making new super villains every week.)

What if...Duck was never adopted? (He either loses his trick coin or mixed it up. Could either be Duck becoming a criminal with Pinkster a hero, or he just suffers a tough life in poverty or something.)

What if...Sypher won? (This is based on a small head canon where he can either take their powers, or their natural/trained abilities but not both. He decides Tech's super genius is more useful and so the Loonatics are unable to overcome him without the suits and his ability to outthink them.)

What if...Rip was the heroic brother? (Ralph treats them both a bit more equally in this one, and somehow or another results in Rip being the one near the meteor impact instead.

Loonatics Headcanon#1

I have a headcanon, the following Loonatics: Sapphire, Diego, Rip(he has electrokinesis no gauntlets), Tris, Zero and Sonic discover their powers much much later than the original 6 do which gets Optimatus’ attention, so he captures them and brainwashes them to obey him. Later he releases them to attack the Loonatics, who recognise each of them as they’ve seen them before. Later on after a big fight they finally manage to break the brainwashing and the six join the Loonatics and Zadavia against Optimatus

I´m thinking about doing an AU of Loonatics Unleashed, where before the team formation each one of the six characters went solo. They encountered their future teammates from time to time, but basically they fight crime alone until some major threat or Zadavia makes them join forces. So I wanted to ask for help.

I can´t really decide which supervillain is going to fight which member. There are some obvious choices like Pinkster with Danger Duck or Mastermind with Tech, but out of that I´m not really sure. The second season villains are easy to put, but the ones of the first season are a little bit more tricky. I was making a list of what I think would work but maybe someone can tell me better. Here it is:

Tech: Mastermind (archenemy), Black Velvet, Stomper, Dr, Dare (occasional), Melvin the Martian (occasional), Keyboard Man (occasional).

Rev: Rip (maybe archenemy until he changes sides), Ringmaster, Otto the Odd, Timeskip, Bio Tech Parasite, Melvin the Martian (occasional), Stoney the Stone y Bugsy the Bug (occasional).

Ace: General Deuce (archenemy), Electro J. Fudd (archenemy), Gunnar the Conqueror, Ophiuchus Sam, Sylth Vester (occasional).

Danger: Pinkster Pig (archenemy), Weather Vane, Dr. Dare, Sypher, Adolpho, Sylth Vester, Queen Grannicus, Stomper (occasional), Electro J. Fudd (occasional), Otto the Odd (occasional), Melvin the Martian (occasional), Stoney the Stone, Bugsy the Bug.

Slam: Pierre Le Pew (archenemy), Gorlop (archenemy), Massive.

Lexi: Melvin the Martian (archenemy), Professor Zane, Queen Athena, Pierre Le Pew (occasional), Electro J. Fudd (occasional).

Zadavia : Optimatus (archenemy), Keyboard Man.

I know that Slam and Zadavia lack of enemies compared to the others, so if you have other suggestions please tell me. Also I gave Zadavia enemies although I don´t think I´ll write a lot about her or solo adventures. And I was thinking of making Optimatus the big threat that unites the team. Maybe some shipping between characters. I don´t know. Comment what you think.

In my friend’s AU (?) where Optimatus is sent to lead the new guardians of earth (my friends and i) after the OG loonatics are made the guardians of the galaxy and he ends up being the new dad-figure to a majority of the new team. Clementine (my self insert) has a shitty dad and just goes 👀 at every new potential dad-figure.

Mikayla being space royalty and a superhero AND adopted by the Warners sound like your typical mary sue backstory but i promise you it makes more sense one you read the lore i have!

Norah Jordan (Kayla's mom) didn't have a good relationship with her parents so she was eager to get out of the house and go to college. At the time she studied marine biology. One day at the beach she found Optimatus washed up on the shore, having had survived a surprise attack by martians ans a crash. She took him in and during his recovery they fell in love. Months passed and a search and rescue party arrived on Earth to pick up Optimatus. While he hated to leave his new life he knew he has to go back to Freleng. He never even told Norah of his royal backstory. He left knowing he had to do something to keep the galaxy safe. Norah often wondered what happened to her mysterious love. Soon after Optimatus left she found out she was pregnant.

Following Mikayla's birth Norah struggled with balancing school and taking care of a baby. So she hired the Warners to be a babysitter. The gag/episode runs as normal and the usual shenanigans occurred. Luckily the Warners make it out in one piece and Norah comes home to fine Mikayla sleeping peacefully. Impressed Norah continued to hire the Warners as caretakers, eventually in gratitude the Warners put in a request for Norah to work a highly-coveted job at the then-new movie ACME studio in Acmetropolis. Norah doesn't get the job but she does get to be the Warners' secretary. Years go by, Mikayla comes to see them as family, even changing her last name to Warner.

Their influence weren't exactly positive as their mischievous nature rubbed off on Kayla and she grows up to be some kind of a delinquent.

Mikayla joined the Loonatics completely by accident - while walking home from a rough day at her job as a retail worker she got caught up in a villain attack. The stress caused her to unleash her powers taking out the villain in the process. The team saw this and tried to talk to her but she disappears. They spend the next week looking for her and they find her and go to her house. Ace offers her a spot on the team but she declined expressing no interest in joining a hero team. She already had a job and goal, and didn't want extra stress of juggling so much stuff. Disappointed they leave but say a spot is always open for her. Mikayla moves on with her life, dealing with her shitty job and sadness that the Warners don't visit as often anymore because of their busy schedule.

Later Optimatus would find out Zadavia hiding out on Earth and tracks her down. He also learns that Norah is still around and looks for her, and that was how he learned thay Norah had a baby - his heir - and by finding his heir he could mould them in his image. He takes Norah hostage, so Mikayla runs to the Loonatics for help. They go to rescue Norah and come across Zadavia in person for the first time. She explains the situation and tells Mikayla her power is a trait of the Royal Family - which likely means Optimatus had a child on Earth and that child is her.

At Optimatus's ship Norah doesn't recognize the cyborg before her and demands answers. The cyborg reveals himself to be her former lover and that he recently found out about his child. He explained that after Martians attacked him, and learning they and other worlds had a history of conquest, he felt he needed to do something about the constant wars and resolved to fight fire with fire. He had already taken over Freleng and used its power to conquer "problem worlds." Horrified Norah argued that he could end up destroying everyone including himself if he continued down this path. The Tyrant counters that he's doing it to protect her, their child and the universe. He already had a meteorite set up to strong arm Earth's leaders into surrendering. Just then Loonatics and Mikayla crash the place and get into a fight with Optimatus's henchmen. Mikayla rushes over to free her mom only to be accosted by Optimatus. He tells her he is her father but to his shock she responded that she already knew - her aunt Zadavia told her the truth. Besides she always regarded Yakko and Wakko as sort of father figures so it's jarring to find out that her biological father is a space tyrant and she won't stand for that. Angry Optimatus tries to take her hostage but Zadavia intervenes and they get into a fight. It takes the whole team and Mikayla to take him down and stop the meteorite from destroying the planet. They manage to defeat him and they lock him up.

Of course Mikayla doesn't forget her adopted relatives the Warners. Whenever they're in town they always take the time to visit her and Norah.

Zadavia stays to mentor with her newfound niece, so she's a lot more in the picture than in canon, actively helping the team in person while Mikayla teaches her aunt Earth culture. Overtime Mikayla learns to be more responsible since Zadavia legitimizes her as Crown Princess of Freleng, and she finds a place on the Loonatics Team. Norah struggled to understand how the man she once loved become like that and had reservations about Mikayla being a superhero so after a long talk with Zadavia Norah decides to let Mikayla be if ot meant helping her cope with her powers. Norah actually ends up moving to Freleng to help its people recover from Optimatus's rule.

Penny can control electricity as opposed to her sister's magnetism. Unlike Paine and Magness Penny is a hero & allied with the Alpha Teens. Her goal is to try to find out what happened to her mom

Melvin Levin: The cousin of Kevin Levin, she is a metal rock star who tours all over space.

Stephan E. Levin: Kevin's grandmother, former socialite and wife of a Politician beforr she got exiled after her son's death. Spent exile in the Null Void evading Aggregor, and came back around the time of the Rooters to rescue her grandson and put Servantis in his place.

Kendrix Tennyson: The daughter of freaking Ben Tennyson (granted the Eon from Omniverse but still a big deal)

Kyra Lyons: The maternal cousin of Cole Evans (Wildforce Red Ranger) who becomes the team's Pink Ranger. She studies zoology.

Beckie Lee Scott: The daughter of Jason Lee Scott (the first red ranger) and my OC Maria. She becomes the Ninja Steel Green ranger, hopes to move out of her parents shadow

Letty Sanchez: Beckie's sister (which also makes her Jason's kid) who is a part of SPD as that team's Purple Ranger. Serious and coolminded but also has something of a temper and a rivalry with Sky.

Literally most of my Descendants OCs are the kids of Disney characters sans Paige

Maggie Phenomenous: The niece of Professor Phenomenous (that zany old guy from Power Rangers In Space and Lost Galaxy) and the purple Galaxy Ranger. Originally was an astronomer on Terra Venture before becoming a Ranger

Orlando Pedrosa: The brother of Raimundo and a Dragon of Training, shy romanticist; Raimundo canonically has multiple siblings but none of them appeared in canon so I made one up.

Edith Flaversham: Sister of Hiram and Olivia's aunt and Basil's love interest who behind the proper Victorian Lady persona is actually a clever sleuth

Alma Mater: Niece of Tow Mater (don't think too hard on it) who goes from a Californian beauty to agent of C.H.R.O.M.E

Regina Blackgaard: The daughter of Edwin Blackgaard from Adventures in Odyssey

Vanessa, Edwin's niece and Regis Blackgaard's daughter. Hates her dad, is a novelist and art curator at Whit's End and dated Jason Whittaker

Mikayla J Warner: Spunky Niece of Zadavia from Loonatics Unleashed (making her a princess), Optimatus's child, and adopted cousin of the Warner Sibs; I know it sounds Mary Sue at first but it's complicated Warner lore

Rhodanthe: Shrek and Fiona's in-law through her marriage to Fiona's cousin Artie, not a blood relation but felt to add it here

See I have OCs who are fankids/fan relatives of canon but they still have interesting personalities outside those connections. I'm sorry but I'm really irked right now and want to be petty XD

So playing with yet another au. An Loonatics Unleashed au. The gang have powers in this one, this it’s more like results from experiments rather then the result of the comet.

 Zadavia and Optimatus still being from being another planet, and Optimatus is involved with the experiments with beings stolen from other planets. Zadavia is not knowledgeable of these experiments for awhile. And when she finds out about them, it leads to Optimatus’s exile. 

As the loonatics gang were kids at this point, Zadavia basically adopted the group. And for some time there is peace and the gang grow and try to learn to control their powers.

Then of course, Optimatus comes back with a army. Cue eventual having to flee the planet and after being chased end up crashing onto Earth.

So basically, Zadavia and the gang trying to make a life on Earth, try not to gain the attention of Earth scientists and government, and avoid bounty hunters.

i have Mikayla :D Mikayla is a not so secret reference to Space Jam (MICHAEL JORDAN but not really) and the mandatory Blue member. She is Zadavia's long lost niece from a fling Optimatus had a brief fling with her momma back when he was good. I kinda wanted to give her a power that's not generic. Mikayla's the lowkey headstrong type who likes a low profile so before she was using her powers to monitor the streets before Zadavia found her. Neither of them knew of their blood connection until like, the end of s1 when Optimatus came to earth so s2 is spent with Kayla learning her royal heritage. I ship her with Ace 💁

I’ll start: I had a human OC who was Lexi’s best friend. Her name was Sapphire and she was super self-indulgent because 10 year old me wanted to be a superhero in this neon-lit disaster of a future.
