I don't usually comment on Barbie's on this blog because I generally don't really care about them, they're not my style, but this doll hits all the wrong notes for me so I'm complaining.

EXTREMELY SUBJECTIVE OPINION INCOMING

This is the Lavender Daydream doll, the second in the "Gala Collection" series. The first was that pink gown Odile from last year. I thought that doll was pretty cute, though again Barbie isn't really my style. But this doll just looks....SO cheap. I know it's common to say that modern collector level dolls are what playline was a couple decades ago, and it's not like I always disagree when people say that. But then I saw these photos and I was like...oh, that's actually what the couple of Barbie's I had as a kid looked like. The fabric on the mermaid skirt, which you can really see in the close-up on her shoes, looks SO BAD. I'm aware some of this is just personal taste, but this doll is so ugly I can't imagine why anyone would want her.

Her hair is long, that's nice? And the stars in her eyes are cute and unique, that's fun. But those are literally her only redeeming traits to me. I first saw her when someone posted her on r/dolls and I had to stop myself from commenting 'wow she's so ugly' because other people were talking about buying her and I didn't want to kill the vibe. This is the meanest I've ever been to a doll. I would burn her in a fire if I could.
