POV: You're learning smithing from Celebrimbor

The heat of the forge seems almost distant compared to the warmth radiating from Celebrimbor as he steps behind you.

His presence is steady, commanding but not overpowering, as his hands gently guide yours over the hammer and tongs. His voice, low and smooth, brushes against your ear as he speaks, “The strike is not about force—it’s about precision. Feel the metal’s resistance, and work with it, not against it.”

His black hair falls forward, brushing against your shoulder and mixing with your own brunette strands, a fleeting touch that sends a shiver up your spine. You’re acutely aware of the closeness, the faint scent of steel and something uniquely him, a mix of ancient woods and embers.

"Here," he murmurs, his breath warm against your temple as he adjusts your grip, his long fingers wrapping around yours with practiced ease.

Together, your hands bring the hammer down in a perfect strike, the sound resonating like music. "Do you feel that?" he asks softly, his tone carrying both approval and an almost imperceptible intimacy.

You nod, your voice caught somewhere between the rhythm of the forge and the way his body aligns with yours. "Yes," you manage, the word barely audible over the hum of the fire.

His lips curve in a subtle smile you can’t see but can feel in the shift of his posture. "Good," he says, his voice dropping to a near-whisper. "You’re learning. And you have far more potential than you realize."

For a moment, time seems to stand still—the steady rhythm of the forge, the glow of the molten metal, and the closeness of the elf behind you, his guidance steady, his touch light yet grounding.

In that moment, you feel the weight of creation, and perhaps something deeper, lingering in the space between the two of you.

Re reading the original hunger games is so funny bcus katniss can literally read haymitch's mind like what. I'm dying of thirst but haymitch hasn't sent me water, that must mean that there's some nearby!! And one kiss is one pot of broth!! Like she even acknowledges that it's strange when she's like oh to peeta this would just be a pot of broth. Haymitch will give her one look and katniss knows immediately what he means and she's right every time

Meanwhile peeta is like your dress really suits you and you look nice :) and katniss is like he's trying to kill me

No but the Hunger Games really said "what do you hate more- the atrocities or the people who commit them against you? Because like it or not there IS a difference. If you hate the people who commit acts of pure evil more than you hate the acts themselves, what will stop you from becoming just like your enemies in your pursuit of justice? What will keep you from commiting those very same acts against THEM when the opportunity arises? And what then? The cycle of pain and suffering will never stop. Round and round it'll go. Nothing will ever change. But. BUT. If you hate the atrocities. If you hate the vile, senseless acts MORE than you hate the people who did them to you. If you are able to see that evil is evil regardless of who does it... The cycle ends with you. No, you may never get justice. But you will never be responsible for making others, even your enemies, suffer the same crimes you have. The atrocities will never be committed by you, never by your hand. And that's the way you change the world. It's the ONLY way" and that's why I am sure it will never stop being one of the most relevant works of fiction ever created
