Dustin: Why do you look so pale? Are you okay?
Eddie: I'm fine, my dear padawan. Don't grow gray hair over it.
Gareth: Yeah, just let him be. He's just going through another withdrawal.
Dustin: A withdrawal— What is happening right now? Have you lost your mind, Eddie? Are you doing drugs? In front of your children?!
Eddie: Jesus, dude. Stop yelling. I'm not doing drugs.
Dustin: Then what does Gareth mean withdrawal??
Eddie: He means I'm missing my Steve.
Mike: Steve who?
Eddie: Steve Harrington. My sunshine, my darling, my everything—
Lucas: You two dating???
Mike: Oh my god.
Dustin: Motherfucker!
Eddie: Yeah, that's me. Now shut up. Let me miss my sweetheart in peace.

I honestly don’t get why anyone would want a bisexual Mike. he’s good representation as a gay character but as a bisexual character he’d just be a bit of a cheater. like… you want him to have actually had feelings for El??? and STILL treat her the way he did??? STILL be forcing himself to be w/ her? This motherfucker got her a valentines card that says “I LIKE you”, how much more obvious can they be that he’s not into her.

Okay so I think Byler nation can agree with me here, that if there is not a scene in season five, where Will saves Mike for once, we might crash out, but also, because the scene following that scene would be GOLD.
Mike, staring in shock as Will, the same Will he's known since he was like five, shotguns a demogorgon in the face. (I really want Will to get a shotgun) Will doing the classic breathing hard turn around, "Are you alright?" Mike, gay, panicking, scared-
timeskip to when they are safe again briefly and we get another moment where they are sitting together, covered in blood, dirt, and upside down gunk, the classic [tender emotional music] starts rolling.
Mike: "...I didn't know will the wise was an artificer."
Will, blinks: "Oh, I uh, he... Nancy taught me."
Mike: "That'll come in handy, y'know, staff in one hand, gun in the other, that's a pretty good system."
Will: *snorts.*
Mike: *Dork smile*
They don't say anything else, just sit in the small comfort that eachother can bring, and neither of them really know when it happened, but their fingers are laced together... And neither of them pull away. <3

Paddy Mayne gets a lot of love and it's understandable, as a person he's a bundle of prickly and appealing traits that are frankly insanity-inducing (I personally have been certifiably unwell about him for at least a month with no sign of recovery), and Jack O'Connell, already a very handsome man, has never looked better in his life than he does all long-haired and brown-tanned and always looking bruised bloodied and battered from Paddy's latest scrap, of course he's always occupying my mind at a low hum
but I have to admit to something, and that's that Jock Lewes is a fucking madman and I can't stop thinking about him, either (dw I'm already past episode 4. changes nothing). he's absolutely nuts. he's cold and closed off and unfriendly and intensely focused on the art of killing as effectively as possible, he sees it as his God-given moral duty to end the war by any means necessary and thus minimize the killing overall and particularly the victimization of innocents, he scares the shit out of me and I want to move in with him immediately so I can study him. turning him around over and over again inside my SKULL

I wanna see Mike with the party more because honestly that's the biggest crush behavior ever. Like I'm going back through season 2 and when he's with the party and Will isn't there, he only talks about Will. "Will was quiet today" "Is Will ok?" "Where is Will?" "Will's absent and he's not picking up". The entire party loves him and is worried about him but I love seeing normal worry and then Mike who when Will is in even potential *future* danger says nothing but that boy's name. The reason Lucas and Dustin had time for a romance plot and he didn't (he did) was because it didn't matter who she was or what she was doing, or anything for that matter except that he simply did not have time or care for any non-Will side plot. So much so that he became self aware that he was in the non-Will side plot halfway through and remedied that shit IMMEDIATELY.
Give me more Mike vs how normal people react to things happening to Will that aren't even that bad yet.

Lil tiny headcanon :3
So Will gave Mike this amazing, supertalented painting in season 4. Headcanoning that Mike looks at it. He looks at it a lot.
Every night before he goes to bed, he holds it up above him, tracing over bumps of paint, discovering intricate details that he missed the first time. And the second time, and the third time. There's always something he missed. It's just so Will, and every second, it's inexplicably at the forefront of his mind. The beautiful painting.
And it's starting to feel like more than just a painting.
Mike decides to try and repay him. He sketches out some scrawled, half-baked stick-figure art after trying for hours to emulate Will's art style. He runs up to Will, face flushed, stuffs it into Will's hands with a stammered explanation and scampers away. Bewildered, Will uncrinkles the drawing.
When he sees the crayon-colored little paladin and cleric on blue construction paper, smiling like they've had the best day of their lives, he sees stars.
While Mike knows it all too well, Will didn't know a drawing could affect him so deeply.

I love s2 so much but I will always get a little upset at all the adults in the lab practically ignoring Mike the whole time. Like if they are freaked out and scared about the situation, imagine how the only other kid in the room feels?
I know that it could be possible that he received some comfort and we just didn't see it, especially because of the way Mike starts being hidden from us in season 2, but if that was the case I have a feeling his breakdown with Hopper wouldn't have been nearly as loaded as it was.
Maybe it's just the way I operate but if there are kids around me during a stressful situation (even when I was a kid myself), I always make sure they are as far away and as calm as possible. I make sure to explain to them in the best way I can what is going on so that they at least have an idea of how to handle their emotions.
I know Mike wasn't freaking out or anything, but of what we know about his character ("even Mike, who likes to act tough" - LOTL), he wouldn't say anything no matter what awful emotions he was feeling. But I don't care. The adults in the situation should know better.
He's literally watching his best friend be taken over by a monster (which he basically swore to protect him from), be tortured by scientists, and then be forced to kill people, which Mike also tries to stop because he catches onto the trap (just a bit too late). He then has to run through a lab of dead people while being chased by the monsters who killed said people until he gets trapped in a room with no way to help and just has to hope that they all get out alive, which they don't, he learns as he holds Will's limp body then has to comfort Joyce as he coerces her to keep going. Oh yeah, I didn't mention that he also had to convince the adults to put his best friend to sleep or else he could also kill them and has to listen to his screams as they put him under.
I will never stop believing that season 2 is absolutely devastating for Mike and that the trauma he gained from it is almost impossible to fathom.
Now, I'm not saying that he wouldn't have been traumatized if he received comfort, but I at least don't think it would be as bad as it is. I mentioned in a post before that he might've lost even more trust in the adults (I specifically named Hopper) around him because of this. We know he's had a problem with authority since the beginning, but it gets worse in season 3, and I think this might be part of the reason why.
Anyways, I'll stop rambling now. Season 2 is my favorite season, but man (I've said it a million times and I'll keep saying it) Mike in season 2 literally breaks my heart into a trillion pieces.
