My mom is planning to go live somewhere else. Probably somewhere far from here, maybe not even in Italy. I am happy for her, don’t get me wrong, but she’s been smothering me all my life and I’m afraid that without her pressure I might just fucking decompress and die like a blobfish taken out of its depth.

Like she stresses me out. A lot. She’s been over my shoulder telling me what to do and how to do it for almost 30 years. I don’t know how to pay taxes. I don’t know how to pay bills or if I should make a bank account or something because those were things she always took care of. What am I going to do? I can’t even support myself *and* study at the same time without fucking dying.

The thing is that while I agree that there should not be censorship on ao3 because then who decides what gets censored and what doesn't I'd like to mention that I don't really agree with the "Oh well just don't read the fic or don't watch it" rethoric in this case because sometimes people end up reading content that hurts them without intending to.

I had to figure it out on my own how to filter tags and how to look for the content I wanted to see on ao3 because as much as I love the site it can be difficult for new users (esp. users coming from other sites) to get a hold of it (I have a post on the making discussing this)

I'd also like to add that sometimes authors don't put *any* trigger warnings on works that sould have them, don't add everything they should (like suicide discussion, ideation, etc.) and some works have the wonderful but sometimes not helpful "Creator chose not to use archive warnings" or "No archive warnings apply" which doesn't say much about the work except hey, there is theoretically speaking no major character death/rape-non con/graphic depictions of violence.

I'm all for writers exploring whatever topics they feel like, but please tag your works correctly, put any trigger warnings necessary, and if you are not sure whether to tag something or not, tag it just in case.

Being a pro censorship ao3 user is so insanely cringe. Either use the (incredibly effective and well designed) filtering system to avoid seeing the shit you don't like or stop complaining. Leave the pro censorship rhetoric to Wattpad or smth
